KIT DI SOPRAVVIVENZA IN CASO DI RIBELLIONE DELLE AI

Dal momento che i vostri timori si fanno giorno dopo giorno sempre più consistenti e l’evoluzione delle intelligenze artificiali devia in modo esponenziale verso scenari apocalittici - e voi lo sapete che la mia specializzazione è proprio in apocalissi di varia natura - rispondo a un timore di @der-papero​ pubblicando una lista di oggetti di pronto utilizzo da inserire nel kit di sopravvivenza quando le AI prenderanno il sopravvento e il loro unico dubbio sarà se renderci schiavi o sterminarci tutti.

1 - PIGMENTO CUTANEO ‘ANATHERMAL’

L’Anathermal - conosciuto negli ambienti dei ribelli come ‘La pittura’ - è un pigmento cutaneo a base di biossido di titanio e microsfere ceramiche che quando applicato su viso e superfici corporee esposte svolge una funzione termoisolante e riflettente nei confronti dei sensori di calore a infrarossi che le AI usano per induividuare gli esseri umani. Esiste in diversi colori (in foto un flacone di variante Nero) con i quali, se alternati, è inoltre possibile dissimulare la simmetricità del viso umano e rendere inutile il riconoscimento facciale (’Pittura di Guerra’).

2 - ARMA CORTA CON MUNIZIONAMENTO A NANITI

In foto una Colt Python .357 Magnum con proiettili a punta cava espansiva in tugsteno i quali, una volta che impattano, rilasciano naniti programmati per sovraccaricare i superconduttori dei microprocessori con cui vengono in contatto. Ovviamente la possibilità che i naniti siano efficaci è tanto più grande quanto più il colpo è preciso nell’essere indirizzato vicino alla CPU del bersaglio.

3 - CUTTER A FILO MONOMOLECOLARE

In foto un cutter ‘Grim Reaper’ con filo monomolecolare in nanotubi di carbonio rinforzato (non visibile a occhio nudo perché del diametro di 0,4 nanometri) che parte dall’apice del manico e si inserisce in una sfera di uranio impoverito. Se fatto roteare, il peso della sfera imprime una forza secante al filo monomolecolare - lungo 50 centimetri - tale da tagliare cavi e travi di acciaio con facilità. Ottimo per tranciare cavi o arti meccanici.

4 - POMPA ELASTOMERICA INTRATECALE ‘LACHESIS’

Questo device permette, in particolari situazioni di stress o di pericolo, il rilascio automatico da parte di un elastomero inserito nel midollo spinale di catecolamine endogene per la soppressione del dolore, l’emostasi di sanguinamenti e il raggiungimento della massima forza esplosiva muscolare. Nei modelli di ultima generazione è stata inserita anche l’opzione terminale ‘Kobudera’ per le missioni senza ritorno.

5 - ARMA LUNGA CON MUNIZIONAMENTO ‘LIPSTICK’

In foto un fucile di precisione Jigger ad aria compressa e una munizione a doppia camera contenente idrazina e tetranitrato di pentaeritrite, una miscela altamente infiammabile ed esplosiva, la cui estrema instabilità necessita di una bassa carica cinetica di espulsione per evitarne l’attivazione anzitempo. Il rivestimento del proiettile in lega di zirconio ceramico di colore rosso gli ha fatto meritare il soprannome di ‘Lipstick’, rossetto. Emblematica la frase dei tiratori del gruppo Snipy Jackson che prima di sparare sussurrano ‘Make up time!’.

6 - DISPOSITIVO DETONANTE EMP

Granata deflagrante che al momento dell’attivazione emette un potente impulso elettromagnetico (Electro Magnetic Pulse) con un radius di 2 metri circa. Questo dispositivo contiene un generatore a compressione esplosiva di flusso che grazie al TED (transient electromagnetic disturbance) disabilita e, se non schermati, frigge circuiti integrati, processori e componenti a base silicio. Considerato il raggio ridotto e la pericolosità per eventuali potenziamenti cibernetici di chi la lancia, è un tipo di arma che sarebbe preferibile usare con un detonatore a distanza.

7 - LA BUONA VECCHIA MAZZA

Perché le AI possono essersi anche evolute ma come per i vecchi PC un bel hard reset non manca mai di risolvere ogni situazione.

First off in Resident Evil: Afterlife somehow Wesker is using and holding TWO FUCKING DESERT EAGLES. That seems a bit problematic to me a little bit but you know movie magic right?

Now for the actual question.

If we were in a zombie apocalypse what guns would you use? How would you suit up in a situation like that if you were in let's say The Last of Us, Walking Dead, and Resident Evil kind of situation? Okay maybe not those exact choices maybe start off gentle and scary like The Last of Us.

MOVIE MAGIC IS SO WHACK. T W O DESERT EAGLES??? Jfc, good luck doing that irl.

Anywho-

This will probably be a long post.. whoops but here we are.

STARTING WITH The Last of Us bc currently, in love with that game so it’s fresh in my head:

WEAPONS:

• first things first, some kind of switch blade or, ofc, trusty butterfly knife. Reason being: you’re gonna need a knife or two, you can’t really go in guns blazing all the time, especially for the fckn clickers.

• Pistols: I’d choose a nice classic Colt 1911 pistol. Reason being is quite simple. It’s very popular and has been for a while, John browning gun, 9mm which I find snazzy, low recoil, can be made withhhhh.. polyester I think? Which makes the carryweight good. DOWNSIDE: it can roughly hold 8-10 rounds in the mag, which depending on the situation could be really good or really bad.

Another neat pistol I’d choose would probably be FN Five-seveN. The ammunition is a 5.7x28mm…? 26? 28? One of those- anyways it’s known for its low recoil but good penetration skills. 20 rounds ‼️ The pistol has a Picatinny rail on the lower frame for mounting accessories such as lights, lasers, or red dot sights which would probably be good for certain situations.

• Rifles: I think I would keep at least two rifles on my person- yes they’re big BUT rifles. One that I, for sure, would choose would be the Mossberg 464. Reasons: ITS A LEVER-ACTION. It’s a snazzy gun, good for long distance and such. Not to mention, I just.. I have a problem BSHSJDJEJ. unfortunately, it does only hold 6 rounds but that’s okay bc it’s worth it.

Another Rifle would be the FN SCAR. Reasons: It's a gas-operated, short-stroke piston system, which is known for its reliability and reduced recoil, usually holds 30 rounds, quick change barrel system- over all? I think it would be pretty good against clickers

• Shotguns: LEVER ACTION SHOTGUN. Reasons? ....It's a lever action shot gun man, that's all tbh- one downside is how it only has roughly 6 shots but that's okay bc mmmm lever action.

• How I would suit up: If I'm not experienced and it's just happening, I would be that idiot wearing hoodies and converses and jeans. I have emotional attachments to my jeans fgjakfgdafh

• However If I am experienced and I know what I'm doing: I would probably wear lighter clothes, like a t-shirt and probably still my jeans, because jeans actually would protect me alot- and if I could find some, I would also wear body armor. I would most likely have a good book bag to fit all my shit in like medical supplies, food, water- all of that snazzy shit.

The Walking Dead:

So for this I would take a much much different approach. I would own ONLY two guns, since the noise can draw herds towards you.

• I would have a fckn SEXC Colt Python revolver. [Think rick Grimes- his gun.] Reason: It's a fucking BEAUTIFUL gun, its a .357 magnum so it's got a kick to it and its GOOD. I would use it for emergency use. The second gun I would use would most likely also just be the silly 1911.

• As for more silent weapons, I would use a crossbow. Probably a compound crossbow tbh- Because the mechanical advantage provided by the cam and cable system, along with the increased arrow speed, contributes to the accuracy of compound crossbows- So it's rather very very fast and effective.

Suit up:

If I'm just starting out I would become a hermit. Stay inside with my shit until I run out and need to go get supplies. However If I'm used to everything, I think I would suit up in a similar way as I would in tlou, simply because that, to me, is the simpliest and best way to suit up.

Now I would LOVE to do this for resident evil but, alas, I do not know that game the best. However if I ever get around to watching a gameplay of it, I'll most likely make a post and tag you :)

Marvelous Malmö

Perhaps when we think of Sweden, Stockholm's always the first city we associate with it. Malmö is not so bad, if you give it a chance. In fact, just a short walk away from the Malmö Central Station, two art installations captured my attention, and well, my heart.

The first is The Knotted Gun. Definitely not what a normal gun looks like, The Knotted Gun’s end of barrel twists into a giant knot. Created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, this giant bronze depiction of a Colt Python .357 magnum revolver is both a symbol of peace and a call for non-violence. ☮️ The artwork stemmed from an immense inspiration, following the tragic murder of John Lennon in 1980. Lennon always had a vision of a peaceful world. 🕊️ As I kept gazing at it, I couldn't help but have his song Imagine play in my head, with these lyrics in particular:

Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace

Meanwhile, just a few steps away from The Knotted Gun is the Spectral Self Container. Crafted back in 2012 with die-cast aluminum and varnished in multiple colors to withstand adverse weather conditions, this installation symbolizes youthfulness, joy, and creativity. 🎨 Props to artist and designer Matti Kallioinen, this sculpture has given more life to Anna Lindhs plats, where different business establishments are located . 

PS: Please don't mind my outfit. The weather was unforgiving that day at -6 degrees, paired with the biting wind that wouldn't stop howling all around me—hence the crazy layers.

Me and my Childe, Coroner's Assistant Josephine 'Joey Laveau' Archer stood in front of the two people we would have least wanted to meet that night at the Hecata Council meeting place in NOLA.

-"Wow... how long has it been since we've been treated to your kindness and jovial presence, Marie Louise!"- The tone of sarcasm in Robert Milliner's voice was more than evident.

Robert Milliner, banker and mobster. Hecata Clan.

-"You know, work has me absorbed! So many crimes and deaths in the city..."- I didn't mean to be condescending, it was clear that neither of us could stand the other.

-"And you come with your Childe! It must be something important to discuss... Go ahead, you've got me on tenterhooks!"- he said while exaggerating his pose as if he were listening to my next words.

-"I was looking for someone else from the Council... Caleb won't be around, will he?"- I asked him, already knowing his answer.

The man faked a laugh. -"Our beloved leader? Caleb the Cappadocian? No, he's not around..."- And he made an exaggerated gesture with his hands pointing around him. As he did so, I caught a glimpse of the hilt of the weapon he carried in a holster: a Colt Python revolver with a 6" barrel and .357 Magnum caliber. A very powerful weapon, and surely loaded with some kind of ammunition harmful to Cainites...

Joey snorted under her breath, she couldn't stand people like Milliner. She realized that this wasn't the time for her sarcastic comments by the way I looked at her sideways.

-"But is he still in town or is he traveling with your Sire Miriam?"- I asked the pale red-haired woman with tattoos and scarifications on her arms, legs and torso.

-"The High Priestess of the Bahari cult is in town. So the leader of the Hecata clan in Louisiana must be too..." - the young redhead woman spoke with an emotionless voice, almost as if another being used her lips to communicate through her. It was chilling!

-"Wow, thanks for the information... New bodyguard, Robert? What happened to Esther? She's had enough of your insidious personality and your misogyny?" The red-haired girl wasn't the first Lamia who had been assigned to the protection of the banker from Boston, Massachusetts, since he arrived in the Crescent City at the beginning of 2022. He wasn't loved, but the 'Anziani' considered him important enough to keep his skin intact.

-"Esther has been returned to her previous position in Baton Rouge, as protector of the city's Seneschal, Mrs. Constanza di Palermo..."- That would certainly have bothered Milliner, losing his protector because she returned to protect a Harbinger of Ashur... Caleb would surely not have been happy either, given his past with these former beings.

-"Well, she has certainly won out..."- Joey said with a shrug.

Joey's comment didn't please Robert. Not in the least. That guy was very dangerous, and grudgeful. That ran in his family! -"I think your Childe should speak only if she is being spoken to directly..."-

I waved my hand and Joey gave up on arguing with him. -"Okay... So, can you tell me where I could meet Caleb, please?"- and I looked especially at the red-haired Lamia.

Robert held his tongue and nodded to his bodyguard. -"Caleb is in his haven. He didn't say he was going out anywhere tonight."- She said seriously.

-"Thank you, Jessie, right? That's your given name..."- I knew her name was Malone, that she was the most recent Childe Embraced by Miriam, the High Priestess of the Bahari cult, Caleb's personal bodyguard, and little else... Although there were rumors about her being as lethal as she was cold and cruel. As if there was someone else inside her, someone old and powerful. I saw the subtle postmortem scars on her cleavage, hidden by tattoos and scarifications. What torment had they subjected that girl to?

-"Indeed. That's my name. Jessie Malone."- And her green-brown eyes suddenly changed. For an instant they were completely black, without a trace of the white of the sclera.

What the hell did that mean?
