Butterflies Part Two
Pairing: Collin x Black!Reader, Plus Size!Reader
Summary: Collin and Reader try to figure out where they stand after their moment a few nights ago.
Rating: M for language
AN: I changed Collin’s major to Creative Writing/Poetry. I don’t know why I didn’t do this in the first place, I was over here thinking of what major would Collin have, and it went over my head so yeah, here it is. Again, this is still set in 2020. Let me know if you want to be tagged. There are about two more parts to this
Part One Part Two Part Three
Shaunice Jasmine Turner was born in the wee hours of the morning on July 26, 2020. You were so happy for your friends and the little family they were building.
“You look pretty comfortable holding Shaunice, Y/N.” Ashely teased, it was just the two of you for now. Collin went with Miles to get some breakfast for Jasmine and to pick up Sean so he could meet his little sister.
“Girl bye, I mean the thought has crossed my mind, but I want to have my salon up and running before I even think about having kids.”
“Bish, I used to say that about my non-existent art gallery, and I got two kids now.”
“I mean you could still paint, Ashley.”
“I could, but painting don’t pay the bills. The rent is ridiculous and trying to get a loan from the bank…” Ashely trailed off
“But it’s all good, I wouldn’t change anything,” Ashely smiled at her daughter, “So, what happened when Collin came back from Val’s?”
“Uh, nothing I twisted his hair and that’s when we got the text from Miles.” Ashely examined your face; she’s known you long enough to know when you’re lying.
“Y/N, give me the baby.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re avoiding eye contact, give me my daughter.” You playfully huffed and handed over Shaunice to your friend, “Now, tell me what really happened last night?”
“Well, when he came back, I was a little mad because I’m over here actually being a friend and he drop everything for a booty call. He’s staying with me rent-free, I visited him when he was locked up, put money on his books, shit, I used to let this nigga cheat off me in Chemistry back in high school. Then he tries to kiss me—”
“He what!”
“Yeah and I don’t know what to think about that, because I know that once Val calls, he gonna run after her, like what is it? Does sis have some magic pussy or some shit?”
“Y/N…”
“I know that’s your friend, but she never once checked on him and I don’t know. I’m right in front of him and he doesn’t see me.”
“Make him see you, sis.”
“Well, how the hell do I do that?”
“Bring another nigga around,” You looked wide-eyed at your friend
“Ash!”
“Girl, bye, what about that chef you was tellin’ me about? Hit him up and bring him around Collin.”
“So, you think making him jealous is gonna work?” Ashely didn’t have time to answer because Sean came bursting into the room running over to Ashely’s bed
“Is she here? Is she here Mom?!” Sean asked bouncing with excitement
“Calm down, baby. Yes, she’s here, where’s Dad?”
“Right here, as soon as we got off the elevator he ran off. He’s been asking about the baby since we picked him up from Ms. Nancy’s. Here’s your food babe.” Miles placed the take-out bag on the table and kissed Ashely’s forehead, Collin trailed behind and once he looked at you he adverted his eyes somewhere else.
“Sean, go use the bathroom then you can hold your sister. Miles can you take Shaunice so I can eat, I’m starving.”
“So, what were you two talking about before we got here?” Miles asked,
“Nothing much, I asked Ashely if you were gonna give her a push present.”
“The fuck is that?”
“A present for pushing out your baby!” You nudged Miles’s shoulder.
“What you want baby, a gift card, or some shit like that?”
“Miles, you can’t get her no damn gift card.” Collin reasoned
“Why the fuck not?”
“Because that’s a boring-ass gift, you gotta get her some jewelry or a car, shit like that.”
“Baby, I can hit up my boy Cuttie—”
“Hell no, every time you get something from Cuttie, it’s either stolen or it don’t work.”
“Ash, that’s not true!”
“What about the bike you got from him for Sean’s birthday? Cuttie stole it!” You said
“I ain’t know that shit when he gave me that bike!”
“Then you bought Ashely that purse for Christmas and the Gucci was spelled wrong.”
“It was not, Collin!”
“Babe, Gucci only got two c’s.” Miles looked stunned for a moment before sucking his teeth
“How the hell was I supposed to know that!” Your phone then went off several times even surprising you.
“Who hittin’ you up, Y/N?” Miles teased
“Nobody, just a friend”
“Stop lyin, Y/N, got a date with this ‘friend’ tonight,” Ashely announced earning a glare from you.
“Oh shit, for real!” Miles exclaimed
“Yeah, he’s nice, um he just moved out here from Detroit. He’s a chef and has his own meal prep business.” It wasn’t a lie, you had met a guy on Tinder a few weeks ago and the two of you have been talking to one another.
“So, he be making all that vegan shit?”
“What’s vegan shit?” Sean questioned innocently
“Miles!” Ashely slapped his arm
“What? I cuss all the damn time, it was gonna happen sooner or later babe.” Ashely glared at her husband not amused in the slightest “Alright, alright, Sean don’t say ‘shit’ it’s a bad word, now come over here and sit down in the chair and I’ll let you hold your baby sister.”
While Miles and Ashely were introducing Sean to Shaunice, Collin walked over to you wanting to know more about your ‘date’.
“So, what’s this guy’s name?”
“Um, I’m sorry since when did I have to answer to you, Collin?”
“I’m just askin’ his name. Want to know the person who’s taking my friend out.”
“You’ll find out tonight—”
“Hey, guys!” Everyone’s heads turned toward the door and there stood Val with various pink balloons and a teddy bear
“Hey, Val!” Ashely greeted, she practically ran over to Ashely and engulfed her in a hug.
“Congratulations, girl.” Val looked over at Miles and her smile faded slightly
“You too, Miles,” She looked over at Collin and acted like he wasn’t even there. At that point, you wanted to slap the hell out this bitch, but this wasn’t the time.
“Guys, I have appointments today I gotta head out. I’ll visit when you get home, okay?” Ashely nodded, understanding your need to leave the room.
“See you later?”
“Yeah, bye guys, and congrats again.”
You stood in front of your bathroom mirror getting ready for your date with Trevon. The two of you had been texting one another all day, you even FaceTimed him briefly between clients.
“I don’t wanna spit, I wanna gulp, I wanna gag, I wanna choke, I want you to touch that lil dangly thing that swing in the back of my throat.” You rapped along to the song that made you feel like a bad bitch, Trevon didn’t give you much of a hint as to what the two of you were going to do tonight, but he said to be casual. So, you didn’t go too overboard with your outfit. This was your first date in a while because of your schedule you didn’t have time to date between the hair and makeup clients, on the day you didn’t have to work you stayed home or hung out with friends or your big brother.
“Alright, you got this.” You said to yourself in the mirror, “You a bad bitch. You the baddest bitch, period.”
You came out of the bathroom and immediately bumped into Collin.
“My bad didn’t see you there.”
“Your date is here.” Collin went into the bathroom closing the door firmly. You rolled your eyes at your friend and walked out to the living room to finally see your date, Trevon.
“Wow, you look great, Y/N.” Trevon beamed, you smiled shyly in return
“Thanks, you do too. You ready to go?”
“After you,”
You carefully shut the front door to your apartment not wanting to wake up Collin, knowing that he was a light sleeper and this was his only day off. You couldn’t help but smile about your date with Trevon last night. After he picked you up, he took you to play mini-golf and then after you went go-cart racing. It honestly the most fun you ever had on a first date. Not wanting to go home, the two of you ended up bar hopping the rest of the night until the two of you passed out on his sofa. The smell of breakfast pulled you of your thoughts. You made your way to the kitchen only to see Val in your kitchen cooking at your stove wearing only one of Collin’s Oakland shirts and underwear.
“Excuse me?”
“Oh, hey Y/N. You want breakfast?”
“What are you doing here, Val?”
“Collin invited me over last night.” She smirked going back to cooking.
“Can you please put some pants on?”
Well, Collin doesn’t seem to have a problem with what I’m wearing.”
“Hm, that’s cute but this isn’t Collin’s place, it’s my place and I don’t want your ass cheeks out in my kitchen. ‘Kay?”
“Whatever.”
“Um, where’s Collin?”
“He’s in the shower, I think. Oh, do you have any almond milk?”
“No, bitch I drink soy.” You mumbled storming past her heading for the bathroom. You angrily opened the door surprising Collin, who quickly reached for his towel to cover himself.
“What the fuck, Y/N! Can you knock?”
“What the hell is she doing here?!”
“Oh, what, I can’t have guests over?”
“That’s not the point, why in the fuck is she cooking in my kitchen with no clothes on!”
“She was hungry, what was I supposed to do?”
“Collin, I need you to tell me when you have company.”
“I don’t see why I have to tell you,”
“It’s the principle, Collin! What if you came home and my date, dick swingin’—”
“Oh, come on, Y/N,” Collin frowned, not appreciating the imagery
“Shut up, making breakfast in the damn kitchen?”
“This isn’t even about the principle it’s about you not liking Val!”
“No, it’s because you living in my place RENT FREE and I need to you who you have up in here!”
“Oh, so that’s what this is all about?” You rubbed your temples in frustration
“No, Collin—”
“Collin, breakfast’s ready,” Val called through the door.
“Go eat with your guest, wouldn’t want your food to get cold.” You said before leaving the bathroom.

An: I got some of this from a TikTok and I thought I would elaborate on it. This is way longer than a drabble is supposed to be, I got carried away.
Part One Part Two Part Three
You and Collin have been friends since you were children, you, him, and Miles grew up together when you and your family moved to Oakland when you were five years. Ever since it was the three of you. Then, Miles met Ashley and then Collin met Val; even though you were happy for him, you’ve been hiding your feelings for Collin for years, everyone knew but Collin, even Val knew.
Then that night at the bar happened and Collin ended up being sentenced to a year in prison, you can vividly remember when you got the call from Val.
“Val? What’s going on, is Collin okay? I’ve called him five times and it went straight to voice mail. He was supposed to pick me up from work.”
“Hey, Y/N, and no Collin just got his ass arrested, he and Miles just beat up some white dude.”
“What the hell? Why? Did Miles get arrested?”
“Over a dumb ass drink, and no. The white guy’s friends said to was Collin.”
“Are you serious? Are you going to the police station? I’ll meet you there, maybe we can bail him out. I don’t have enough alone, maybe between you, me, and Ms. Nancy, we can make it work—”
“I’m not going Y/N, Collin needs to accept that his actions.”
“What the hell, Val? Isn’t he your boyfriend ?!”
“I know Y/N, I just can’t get that image out of my head. You weren’t here! He was stomping that poor guy out over a drink.”
“Bye, Val. I’m going to the police station to help your boyfriend.”
Of course, between you and Collin’s mom, you couldn’t afford
Collin’s bail. So he spent a year behind bars, you talked to him on the phone every day and visited him twice a week. You were heartbroken when after he came out, he tried to make things work with Val after you had been the one who was there for him. You remember the days he would vent to you about only hearing from Val once and her never coming to see him.
After his probation was over, despite being hurt by him initially choosing Val over you, you let him stay with you. It’s now going on five months of Collin living with you and it honestly the happiest you’ve seen him in a long time. You’ve even convinced him to go to therapy and he’s been much better. Collin was still at Commander Moving and taking night classes to finish his Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin.
You were just finishing up dipping Ashley’s knotless braids, she and Miles were expecting again, and she wanted an easy hairstyle for her last few weeks of pregnancy. You were a hair stylist and makeup artist at a salon and currently in the work opening your own salon.
“You are done, Ms. Ashley,”
“How much do I owe?”
“Girl, nothing. Is Miles outside?”
“Yeah, he said he just pulled up,”
“Collin can—” You stopped mid-sentence, Collin was walking over to the two of you, but he was dressed to go out.
“Where you goin’?”
“Um, to Val’s, she needs me to fix something.” He mumbled you gave him a tight-lipped smile in return.
“Oh, well can you walk Ashley out?”
“Sure, no problem, I’ll be back later on tonight.” You nodded, Ashley pulled you in for a hug.
“Thanks, sis.”
“No problem, text me when you get home.”
“Yes ma’am. Hey, you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m cool.” Ashley gave you a look
“I’m fine.”
“Alright, see y’all later.”
Almost two hours later, Collin came through the door of your small apartment. Based on the frizziness of Collin’s hair you knew exactly what he and Val were doing. You had just finished eating dinner.
“Hey, smell’s good. Is there any left?”
“Nope,” you replied popping the ‘p’ “figured you’d eat at Val’s.”
“Y/N,”
“I didn’t say anything. But if you want food, we got leftovers.”
“It’s like that?”
“Yeah, just like that.” You said brushing past your friend.
You only had one bathroom so you and Collin had to share, it wasn’t that bad, but now it was getting a bit overwhelming trying to share one sink. You had just finished re-twisting your hair and putting on your favorite purple bonnet when you noticed Collin only washed his face with a bar of soap. Collin saw the look you gave him and frowned.
“What?”
“That’s all you use to wash your face?”
“What’s the problem,”
“Collin, you need to a toner, cleanser, exfoliate, serum, moisturize, and then spray.”
“It’s not that deep,” Collin as he simply put his hair in a ponytail.
“Do you de-tangle your hair?”
“In the morning,”
“That’s why you’re always late, let me give you a twist out!” You said excitedly, clapping your hands together.
“Y/N, really?”
“Yes, hold up you need to wash your face the right way first.” You gathered all your skincare items and instructed him on how to go through the routine by doing it with him.
“Why does this smell like that?” Collin asked while rubbing the face scrub on his face.
“It’s a coffee scrub, doesn’t it smell good?” You smiled
“Alright, now we rinse and then we put the serum on. Not that much,” You giggled at the huge amount Collin put in his hand,
“Here, let me take some, isn’t this fun?”
“It’s too long I could’ve been sleep by now.”
“Well, you’ve been at Val’s for two hours…”
“Come on Y/N, she asked to fix something for her.”
“What? Was her pussy broken and you had to fix it with your dick?”
“Y/N! Chill, it ain’t like that.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night. Alright, here’s the night cream, pat it in, if you rub it in go up. We don’t want saggy skin. Okay, last step, close your eyes.” You started to spray his face and laughed when he jumped
“Nigga, don’t open your eyes!”
“I didn’t know,”
“Now, feel your face. Don’t it feel nice? Tell me I’m wrong, dare you!”
“I wish I could hate you,” You smirked,
“You ready for me to do your hair?”
“Fine,”
“Yes, I’ve been dying to do your hair, since we were kids. Go in the living room sit in front of the couch.” You instructed before shooing him away.
“Have you ever given yourself a twist out?”
“Naw, I mean Val’s…ahem, um, yeah, she’s always done my braids.”
“Hmm, well you live with the best hairstylist in The Town, and that’s on period.”
“Oh, really the best?” Collin teased
“Don’t play with me, anyway. What do you put in your hair?”
“Cantu—”
“Cantu? Don’t use that shit anymore, you gotta love yourself.”
“But it’s cheap,”
“I’m going to buy your products from now on.” Four episodes of black-ish later and you were now twisting the left side of his hair.
“Do you have a durag?”
“Uhhhhhh…”
“You’re about to lose your black card. You’re lucky I always come prepared.”
“You gonna lose your black card, ‘Ms. I Drink Pumpkin Spice Latte.’” You slapped the side of his head with the rattail.
“Nigga, whose place you staying in? I’ll kick you out.”
“Chill, chill, chill. I appreciate you doing my hair,” Collin said rubbing your thigh. A shiver ran through your body, feeling Collin’s hands on your bare skin. You shook the feeling off and quickly finished his hair.
“Alright, all done. You can get the durag from my bathroom. I have a pack of them.”
“Do you mind putting it on for me?”
“Uh, sure, go get it.”
When Collin came back, he held the yellow durag in his hand, you playfully rolled your eyes.
“I knew you were gonna pick that one.”
“It’s my favorite color.”
“Sit on the sofa, so I can put it on.” As you wrapped Collin’s durga, you noticed two things, one you were definitely wearing a cami and you didn’t have a bra on, meaning your breasts were practically in his face, two, Collin’s eyes keep darting between your breasts and looking at the floor.
“There, now you’re finished, is it too tight?”
“No, it’s fine, thank you.” Collin said giving an intense look that butterflies in your stomach.
“No problem,” The two of you were in a comfortable silence “I’ve always liked yellow on you.” You had no idea where that came from and why you said it.
“Really?” Collin stood up, pulling you close to him, your body pressing against his. The sudden closeness causing all the words in your brain to fade away.
“Uh, um, yeah. The color suits you, because of your smile.” You managed to get out.
Collin wrapped an arm around your waist. His hand gently touched your cheek,
“Y/N…” The two of you leaned in close lips barely touching when…
Collin’s phone and yours as well went off with multiple text message notifications. The two of you jumped away from each other. You picked up your phone and gasped
“Miles, just texted me, said Ashley went into labor. They’re taking Sean to your Mom’s and then going to the hospital.”
“I’ll text him back that we’ll meet them there.” Collin stammered
“I’ll change real quick and then we can go.” You quickly scurried off to your room. Your heart felt like it was pumping out through your chest, were you and Collin about to kiss? You shook the thought out of your head, you can’ let yourself get wrapped up in Collin, he still sees Val so that means he stills has feelings for her. You need to push whatever you feel for Collin to the back of your head, it was never going to happen.
AN: So that took a turn, LOL. How would you guys feel about this being a short series, maybe three parts? It would be a while before I add on since I’m doing Family is Everything. So yeah, I really liked writing this, it was a lot of fun.
