January 2024!!!
hello friends, i made it in time before January ends! hahaha
i got my very first GPA! and it's... drum rolls please... 3.95/4! đâš alhamdulillah if it not for Allah's numerous help, wouldn't be here đ„ș now it's time to prepare and plan and strategize for second semester and keep up with the good work!
here comes the best part of January: my coldplay Singapore trip! this trip is the first time i'm taking my sister with me as it's also her bday gift from our parents, and as you've probably guessed, i took care of everything lol even from renewing our passports to making itinerary list and public transportation route maps... but it was fun! i love making sure everything is under control đ
but of course things don't always go by our plan because my flight to Singapore got delayed for almost four hours, and we arrived at Changi airport close to midnight. that also meant the last MRT train to city had already departed, and we were forced to take taxis. then of course yet again taxis are so hard to find it's so jarring the difference of night life in Jakarta vs Singapore lol so we had to take Grab Car ride which was a lot more expensive (S$ 32.4 or roughly 378,000 IDR! by cash!) i literally almost tried to kip a night at the airport but decided against it at the end because in the morning we have to be at the stadium đ€Ș (spoiler this trip is all about rushing here and there lol) so yeah took a 13 mins car ride to our hotel and met kak Regina, my first coldplay twitter mutual i'm meeting on this trip! 12 am and exhausted from the flight, we all went to bad after a lil chit chat.
next morning is finally d-day! Jan 27th 2024 i won't forget you ever đ„ș i was gonna be super ambitious of getting barrier to the point i want to leave the hotel at 6.30 AM but you can't deceive your age lol ok well i was just so tired and i have early entry ticket anyway so i deferred a bit and went to the stadium at 8 AM instead hehe. fun part is kak Regina was told by local uncle a shorter route to reach Singapore Sportshub complex and that's the route we took, so instead of spending so much time at the MRT and walking to the station, we took a short bus ride and then walk a straight line from Geylang road to the Sportshub outer door near Nicoll Highway. surprisingly (not) i love the walking route because masyaAllah Singapore is so clean and i loooooove walkable cities it's my dream to live in one đ„șđ„șđ„ș we arrived at the stadium at around 8.30 AM, and of course there was no queue yet and the Kallang Wave Mall wasn't even open yet, so what did we do? sit down next to the entrance gate and enjoy the morning breeze, no pollution whatsoever... it was so calm and peaceful!
at 10 AM my sister left us to go sightseeing at Orchard rd with her friends while me and kak Regina decided to go eat breakfast at Kallang Wave Mall, to eat at this food court named My Kampung. this was the time i met three of my coldplay mutuals! one from is Sri from Pekalongan, Indonesia and two are ate Andrea and ate Abbie from the Philippines! it was nice all of us talk a lot about coldplay and lil bit of kpop, exchanged gifts, and took pics đ also here in this mall everywhere you look you'll find so many people coming down after finishing their workouts. again i envy Singaporeans so much they have this sports complex where you have ALL you need to accommodate their sports activities and then a living public area to shower and eat after, all connected to every line of public transportation system...
12.30 PM i left the group because i had to collect the special fabric wristband for early entry VIP ticket holders, and there was a lil queue, not much people start queueing. here i met another coldplay mutual bang Tulus from Indonesia!
(edit: 29/02/2024 - it's always the coldplay show posts that i procrastinate bc i have so many things to say YET no time to write it down!)
after getting my Kubik blue fabric wristband, came the dreaded part of going to concerts: queueing đ i swear to God, Singapore's temp was so hot that day, it's funny because days before it was full raining... not sure whether to be grateful or not because if it rained it'd be damp, if the sun's scorching hot we'd be sizzled. and sizzled we were! bang Tulus introduced me to his two other friends, the lovely kak Afi and bang Reza, both who have had the lucky opportunity of meeting Chris before! we set a strategy on how to get barrier, and thankfully i reserved a spot on the very front of the queue line.
4 PM, it was finally the time to enter the venue! (not yet the stadium, YES there were two different queues) and thanks to our organized strategy we got barrier when we were allowed to enter the stadium đ„ș
(edit: 15/03/2024 - lol iâm buried in my assignments iâm so sorry for the very late update đ)
barrier spot is always the best for me, though the minus point is that you donât get the full view of everything - but i get to see Chris, Jonny, Guy, and Will sooo up close! almost got a fist bump from Jonny but his hands were too far đ„Č
anyways again i canât write down the whole story because honestly itâs an experience where i think words canât do it justice! i just remember how much fun i have, seeing coldplay tour crews walking around (Anna Lee the tour photographer took a pic of us!!! and our pic is included in the bandâs tour app gallery!!! and also Mike the camera guy he was in our section a lot hahah), the confetti cannons in front of us literally shooting hundreds of confetti into our mouth and pockets lol.
iâm always so emotional every time i get to the end of the show, listening to A Wave as the credit title rolls, seeing people leaving the stadium⊠listening to the studio mastered ver of it is already a tearjerker moment but hearing it live at the end of your show? man. i got so overwhelmed i think i spent a few minutes just taking it all in. trying to permanently carve the memories onto my brain. iâm so lucky i get to find happiness in everything everywhere everyone iâm so so so happy!!!
also at the end i get to meet Isha finally! we were separated at the start of the concert because she wanted a spot near A stage. we took pics with confettis and iâm sure we were one of the few who exited the stadium the last đ in retrospect i was one of the first to enter with my early entry ticket and the last one to leave? đđ thatâs so on brand of me đ then i went to the merch exchange spot to get the early entry special package and iâm so sad they cut off my fabric wristband! đ then i said goodbyes to kak Afi, bang Tulus, bang Reza⊠what a wholesome bunch đ„čđ«¶đ»
this show iâm only sad about not getting to meet Tugce (from Germany) and PâBogey, PâNummon, and PâPang (from Thailand) because i was already in queue line and couldnât get out đđđ next show i will make it through âđ»
11 PM, finally i went back to my hotel, the MRT was so packed iâm glad kak Regina knew a trick to make sure we donât get stuck (from MRT Stadium you get on the train to Paya Lebar direction and drop off at the MRT Mountbatten station, then walk the rest to Geylang area itâs a straight route you wonât get lost, thank me later!) and we arrived at around 11.30.
can you believe we spent HOURS outside so we were drenched in sweat and i ordered everyone to take a shower lol and we couldnât waste time because we have to get to the airport at 3 AM though our flight is on 7 AM (itâs our Asian blood behavior of always make sure youâre at the airport t-3 hours!!!) as the timekeeper naturally i didnât slept at all đ€Ą made sure everyone packed everything and then ordered the taxi! Isha tagged along because she didnât want to spend more money though her flight is on 2 PM đ
kinda a heartfelt moment when we finally part ways (kak Reginaâs boarding gate is at T2, mineâs at T4, Ishaâs at T3) and also thinking this is the end of such a chaotic fun messy spontaneous trip đ forever grateful coldplay got me into this adventure of a lifetime! my 2017 coldplay Singapore show is memorable because itâs my first but this second one⊠itâs so special because i get to meet so many of my best friends from all over the world đ„č
only spent less than 48 hours in Singapore but the energy i got is enough to fuel me for the second semester. my heart is so warm and full⊠đ«¶đ» so many things i never even imagined are happening, things i used to think can only happen in daydreams⊠i feel like a tide is about to turn and iâm so excited! thereâs this phrase Chris wrote on his piano, âopen + surrenderâ and it reminds me so much of the concept of tawakkul! i firmly believe in it and iâm glad i never wavered - time is indeed your best friend!
hoping for more happiness to come. see you in the next post, my friends đâš
#a great way to start 2024#alhamdulillah#love you coldplay#gonna allow myself to escape reality in coldplay concerts

Is there anything better than a free standing pit area entry to Coldplay concert for being a Global Citizen volunteer? Nope!
Such nostalgia with Fix You and The Scientist as I reminisce on the last time I caught them live in Kobe, back in 2008.
Thank you for growing up and growing old with me, you've certainly seen me through a few heartbreaks.

Taylor Swiftâs Eras Tour Grand Total: A Record $2 Billion
By Ben Sisario
For the last 21 months, Taylor Swiftâs Eras Tour has been the biggest thing in music â a phenomenon that has engulfed pop culture, dominated news coverage and boosted local economies around the world.
Now we know exactly how big.
Through its 149th and final show, which took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Sunday, Swiftâs tour sold a total of $2,077,618,725 in tickets. Thatâs two billion and change â double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history and an extraordinary new benchmark for a white-hot international concert business.
Those figures were confirmed to The New York Times for the first time by Taylor Swift Touring, the singerâs production company. While the financial details of the Eras Tour have been a subject of constant industry speculation since tickets were first offered more than two years ago â through a presale so in-demand it crashed Ticketmasterâs system â Swift has never authorized disclosure of the tourâs numbers until now.
The official results are not far from the estimates that trade journalists and industry analysts have been crunching for months. But they solidify the enormous scale of Swiftâs accomplishment. Just a few months ago, Billboard magazine reported that Coldplay had set an industry record with $1 billion in ticket sales for its 156-date Music of the Spheres World Tour â a figure that is just half of Swiftâs total for a similar stretch of shows in stadiums and arenas.
Every date on the Eras Tour was sold out, and spare tickets were scalped at eye-popping prices â or traded within the protective Swiftie fan community, often at face value.
According to Swiftâs touring company, a total of 10,168,008 people attended the concerts, which means that, on average, each seat went for about $204. That is well above the industry average of $131 for the top 100 tours around the world in 2023, according to Pollstar, a trade publication.
The biggest single nightâs attendance was in Melbourne, Australia, on Feb. 16, 2024, with 96,006. And Swiftâs eight nights at Wembley Stadium in London, which she played more than any other venue, drew 753,112 people â about as many as live in Seattle.
As gigantic as they are, the figures revealed by Swiftâs company are only part of the overall business that has surrounded the tour. They exclude her extraordinary merchandise sales, for example, a product line so in demand that Swift opened stadium sales booths a day early in some markets to sell T-shirts, hoodies and Christmas ornaments to fans, ticketed or not.
And they do not count the secondary market of online ticket resellers. According to StubHub, the Eras Tour was the biggest-selling tour in the platformâs two-decade history, and last year it outsold BeyoncĂ©âs shows by a factor of five. Another ticketing company, Victory Live, said the average price for resold tickets to the Eras Tourâs three Vancouver dates was $2,952. (Swift earned nothing from resold tickets.)
Beyond its numbers, the Eras Tour has been a mega-event that elevated the already-super-famous Swift to a new level, making her an epochal symbol of cultural saturation on the level of the Beatles in the 1960s or Michael Jackson in his â80s prime. Swiftâs every onstage utterance, outfit swap or offstage sighting was thoroughly documented, on social media and in the mainstream press, with news outlets big and small rushing to capture Swiftiesâ clicks. Online, fans tracked every tweak to the three-hour-plus set lists.
As the story of Swiftâs tour took shape, it seemed to contain its own eras within it. First, in November 2022, came the ticket fiasco, when Ticketmaster was overwhelmed by what it said were 3.5 billion online requests for tickets, many from scalpersâ bots. The furor over those problems led to a Senate Judiciary hearing in January 2023, at which lawmakers from both parties openly called Ticketmasterâs corporate parent, Live Nation, a monopoly. (This year, the Justice Department filed an antitrust suit against Live Nation, calling for a breakup of the company.)
Then came the tour and the folkways that developed around it, like fans trading hand-assembled friendship bracelets. After the tourâs stop in Kansas City, Mo., a public flirtation between Swift and Travis Kelce, the star tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, developed into a full-on romance, with the pop star and the football hunk sharing a field-level smooch after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII in February. The photographers definitely did not miss it.
In October 2023, she released âTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour,â a nearly three-hour concert film, released through a direct distribution deal with AMC Entertainment, the worldâs largest theater operator. It sold about $93 million in tickets during its opening weekend, and ended up with $261 million in worldwide grosses, according to Box Office Mojo. The next step was a streaming deal with Disney+. A 256-page hardcover tour book, released last month through Target stores, sold 814,000 print copies in its first two days on sale.
As the tour moved to Europe in 2024, it narrowly avoided what could have been a major catastrophe when a terrorist bomb plot was uncovered before three planned shows in Vienna. Those events were canceled and never rescheduled.
Although Swift has largely avoided the news media during the tour, over time she has pulled back the curtain a bit to reveal some of how it came together. To prepare herself for the physical demands of the show, she trained for six months, with a cardio regimen that included singing the entire set list while running on a treadmill, she told Time magazine.
âI knew this tour was harder than anything Iâd ever done before by a long shot,â the magazine quoted her as saying. âI finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly.â
The music video for âI Can Do It With a Broken Heart,â from her latest album, âThe Tortured Poets Departmentâ â her third release over the course of the tour, including two rerecorded versions of older albums â has behind-the-scenes clips confirming some of the stagecraft mechanics that fans have carefully cataloged on social media, like how she âdivesâ each night through a âholeâ in the stage (onto a soft cushion held by crew members) and how she is ferried backstage in a dummy janitorâs cart.
The tour concludes just as Swift celebrates yet another win: âTortured Poetsâ has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a 16th week, with help from vinyl and CD sales of the 35-track âAnthologyâ edition of the album, which Swift released on Black Friday, also through Target. âTortured Poetsâ is by far the biggest-selling album of the year so far.
Swift is up for six awards at the Grammys in February, including album of the year for âTortured Poetsâ and both record and song of the year for one of its singles, âFortnight.â
At a recent tour stop in Toronto, as the tour neared its end, Swift teared up as she delivered valedictory remarks to fans.
âMy band, my crew, all my fellow performers,â she said, âwe have put so much of our lives into this, and you put so much of your lives into being with us tonight and to giving us that moment that we will never forget.â

Miraculous fanart: Cerisette/Lilanette Re-Verse (MLB Femslash February/Rock Band AU)
Day 15: Marinette and Lila/Cerise (Faulty; Rock)
This is the full colored version of the Cerisette Rock Band AU.
This happens in the Re-Verse from the Miraculous Paris special: Lila/Cerise and Marinette play rock music and form a duo together before merging with the Kitty Resistance (Rose, Juleka, Luka and Ivan). Lila/Cerise plays electric guitar and Marinette plays keyboard. And they make an illegal concert. In this AU, the Supreme from the Re-Verse has forbidden the music. The latter's logo gets vandalized.
Lila/Cerise's hair is a wig with a sky-blue dye. Marinette is just Emonette-Shadybug.
Marinette is the Ladybug and Cerise is the new Hesperia for this concept.
We can see Marinette is blushing about her music partner.
About their music, the two girls compose the instrumental part. It's the band Kitty Resistance who perfoms the vocal and parts.
This fanart is made for the @mlbfemslashfebruary event.
Bonus (variants):
Playlist of Marinette and Cerise eventual covers in collaboration with the Kitty Resistance/Kitty Section:

So as a music enthusiast, mainly indie/rock etc I have attended numerous concerts over the years as you canât beat seeing a band liveâŠ.Florence and the machine, Kings of Leon, Texas, Coldplay, London Grammar etc and so many smaller pub gigs etc.
Anyway whatever bands I follow/enjoy I have never A) dug in to who their band manager is or B) been disappointed that the band manager has not made themselves front and centre. I just gather that band managers are there to keep bands happy and organised and like most people do not work 24/7 and have a life outside of their job enabling them to enjoy other events!!
Also is it compulsory for a band manager to have several bands on the books or can they just focus on who they work with when required? Clearly a lot of people have no idea what really goes on behind the scenesâŠ.
By the way I know you are not a tiny hateful person with an overinflated ego⊠me thinks it is someone else parroting their own insecurities IYKYK đŹ
M A R I A âŠâŠ!!! đ¶đ€
Thanks for the message, Anon. đ
Agreed, you canât beat seeing a band live (and I think youâre blessed if youâre able to listen to their recordings on vinyl too). Love your concert examples!
Come to think of it, during my many years of attending live concerts and collecting recorded music, Iâve never dug into band managersâ names or was disappointed managers didnât make themselves front and centre. Who knew? (Now Iâm giggling about how many film actors have played Brian Epstein. Funny how the mind wanders. đ)
Like anyone else, I could Google âband managerâ and learn what is âcompulsoryâ for that job, but today is not that day. One could Google what is compulsory for my job, and they would have no better idea of how I actually do what I do than they did before I typed this sentence.
Speaking of band managers, âŹïž Clare Dunne is climbing the stairs to accept her 2024 IFTA Award. To the right of the stage, at the back of the yellow circle, are an IFTA-nominated actress and her husband who is a band manager. Great seats!
Bless you, Anon, for not thinking Iâm a tiny hateful person with an overinflated ego. Does this mean you might join me at a cinema later this year when Midas Man premieres? đż
