Oppiwater Kunstefees program so pas bekend gestel

RSG en LEFRA PRODUKSIES se baie suksesvolle Oppiwater Kunstefees vaar vanjaar vanaf 15-20 April 2018 op die MSC Sinfonia van Durban na Mosambiek.

Feesgangers kan gaan garnale eet by die legendariese Polermo Hotel in Maputo, heerlik ontspan op die Portugese eilande end an ook die nuwe bestemming, Pomene, besoek, wat baie moeilik per land bereikbaar is. Die hoofdis is egter ‘n volwaardige Kunstefees aanboord die MSC Sinfonia met meer as 20 top Afrikaanse produksies. Die program vir Oppiwater is so pas bekend gemaak.

Frans Swart, Besturende Direkteur van Lefra Produksies en Organiseerders van die Oppiwater Kunstefees sê hy is baie opgewonde oor vanjaar se Kunstefeesprogram. “Dit bly natuurlik elke jaar ‘n uitdaging om te besluit watter wonderlike produksies saamgaan op ons Kunsskippie. Dit is egter altyd vir ons belangrik om ‘n baie groot verskeidenheid van alle teatergenres vir ons Feesgangers aan te bied. Daar is drama, komedie, poësie, dans, woordkuns, musiek en sang. Ons besef maar te goed dat Oppiwater eerstens ‘n vakansie-ervaring vir ons passassiers moet wees – daarom is daar ook heerlike dekpartytjies waar ons baie lekker gaan partytjie.” Swart sê dat die uitdaging daarin lê om meer as 20 verskillende Afrikaanse produksies in hierdie week in te pas. “Dit is nogal ‘n groot uitdaging vir my span om soveel produksies in en uit te trek in beperkte tyd en veral ook beperkte spasie. Maar ons doen dit nou reeds vir vyf jaar – so ons het reeds die kuns bemeester om vir ons mense ‘n ongelooflike kunstefees aan te bied.” Hy sê ook dat Oppiwater baie trots is om vir ‘n Fiesta-toekenning genomineer te wees as een van die vier beste Kunstefeeste in die land.

Coenie de Villiers se TIEN VINGERS is sekerlik een van die groot gunstelinge vir die Oppiwater Kunstefees. Singing Freedom with Kunstreffers at Artscape

Kunstreffers: Konsert van Hoop – a never before seen music and dance extravagance as part of the 14th Suidoosterfees on 27 April.

Headlining the bill are SA Idols Winner 2005 Karin Kortje, celebrated Afrikaans artists Coenie de Villiers and Karin Hougaard as well the legendary home-grown Langa artist Fancy Galada and indigenous music maestro Dizu Plaatjies among others. Winners of the Suidoosterfees Talent Search 2016 will share the stage with these stars while musical director maestro Janine Neethling will orchestrate the concert to a fine tune.

The production forms part of Artscape’s mandate as an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture to celebrate and commemorate national holidays of cultural and political significance in post-democratic South Africa. It forms part of the representation of our diverse cultures and living legends that deserves to be continuously honoured. It ties into the Suidoosterfees 2017 theme, “Legends” that seek to present an opportunity to honour celebrated South African artists from the classic genres through to jazz – celebrating our diverse cultures to proffer a platform of artistic expression for young, established and celebrated artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Kunstreffers: Konsert van Hoop

As City of Cape Town Executive Mayor, Patricia de Lille as one of the Suidoosterfees partners, promises in her festival foreword: “The Suidoosterfees never disappoints”. Neither will “Kunstreffers: Konsert van Hoop”.
