7 Days of Scarepairs: Sciles | Scott McCall x Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf) + “Grief”
Requested by @joanthangroff (TW mention of suicide attempt)
It was a long ride back from the motel. At least, it felt longer. Stiles' gaze burning holes in the side of his face wasn't making it go any faster, either. Scott could see his bouncing leg, hear his racing heart and smell the anxiety radiating off of him. Even if he were oblivious to all of that, he would still know something was wrong with him.
"Stiles," he said wearily, looking at him properly for the first time since Coach snatched his whistle back off of Lydia and told them to sit down. "Are you okay?"
"What? Oh, yeah. I'm fine. All good."
The way he glanced at him said otherwise. Scott raised his eyebrows pointedly and the leg bouncing stopped. Stiles ran a hand over his thigh and nodded jerkily as if reiterating that he was fine.
"Look, we're gonna figure this out, okay?" Scott assured him as best he could. "From what Ethan said, there's a good chance that Derek is alive. Once we get back to Beacon Hills, we can find him, and we can make a better plan. No one else is going to get hurt."
He just managed to bite back a promise. He knew he couldn't. He only hoped that it was the truth.
But Stiles stared at him like he could see right through him, his eyes narrowing. He parted his lips like he was going to retort, as he usually would, but instead, he just shook his head and turned to face the back of the seat in front of him. As he ran a hand over his face, Scott frowned.
"You're angry," he blurted out.
Stiles shook his head again and sighed. "No. No, Scotty, I'm not angry." His heart skipped but he acted like Scott couldn't hear it. "I'm just... I'm tired. Last night was..."
"I know," Scott said softly. His own heart skipped. "But the darach's not going to catch us by surprise like that again."
Stiles nodded, but he didn't say anything else. In fact, he didn't say anything else for the rest of the ride. Scott wanted to, but something stopped him. He took to staring out the window and letting his eyes unfocus as he repeated his plan to find Derek in his mind the whole way home.
*
The bus dropped them off at the school. Stiles insisted on driving Scott home, even though he had his bike. He didn't put up a fight - he just wanted to go home and see his mom before he did anything else. That phone call back at the motel had felt too real. He just needed to see her.
Of course, she was at work. Scott sighed when he found the note on the fridge, but he told himself not to overthink it. She was fine.
"Alright, well, I think we should go to Derek's loft first," he said, turning to Stiles who was lingering by the back door, his arms folded. "He'd most likely have gone back there to try and heal."
He frowned.
"Although, if the alpha pack are looking for him, that might be too obvious. Maybe we should try the animal clinic first. He could've gone to Deaton, right?"
He waited for Stiles to agree with him or suggest something he hadn't thought of because right then, all Scott had was a handful of guesses and maybes.
But Stiles didn't chime in. He shrugged when he realized Scott was looking at him.
"Stiles, are you sure you're okay?" he asked gently.
Stiles dragged a hand over his face and sighed again, his tongue in his cheek, and he could smell the irritation on him, just like when they were on the bus.
"You know what? No," he snapped, throwing his hand up. "No, Scott, I'm not okay, and, quite frankly, neither are you, and I don't get why we're just pretending that last night never happened. Because it did."
"Do you mean..." Scott couldn't quite get the words out, his throat closing up around them and forcing them back down. He shifted his feet, his gaze dropping to the ground for a moment. "The wolfsbane?"
"Yeah, I'm talking about the wolfsbane," Stiles said, his voice thick with emotion he was failing to contain. "More specifically, what the wolfsbane did to you, Scott."
Scott shook his head, his eyebrows drawing together as he tried to ignore the sick feeling weighing down on him. "It was just... you saw what it did to all of us. Ethan-"
"Tried to saw himself open, yeah," Stiles cut him off. "Probably something to do with his freakish ability to combine into one even more freakish mutation with Aiden. Isaac - he was hiding under his bed. Boyd and Lydia were hearing things. But you, Scott..."
He took a step toward him, and Scott watched his feet, observing every little detail of his shoes and the kitchen floor.
"Scott, you tried to kill yourself."
"It was just..."
"No. No, Scott, the wolfsbane brought out all of your biggest fears and just - just heightened your true emotions. Boyd's guilt about his sister, Isaac's fear of his dad, Lydia always being the one to find dead bodies. It wasn't the wolfsbane talking when you did that. Was it?"
Scott knew he had to give him an answer. He just didn't think either of them really wanted to hear it. The truth hung in the air between them, as suffocating as the gasoline that still clung to Scott's senses.
"It doesn't matter," he said quietly, then looked up to meet Stiles' disbelieving stare. "We need to find Derek. We can't waste any more time, we need-"
"Scott, stop! Can you even - you nearly died! Twice!"
"But I didn't-"
"Because someone stopped you! Allison literally had to sew you back together because you felt so guilty about Derek being dead that you were going to let yourself die, too! Scott, I had to talk you out of setting yourself on fire, how can you not - how do you not see how messed up that is?!"
"Stiles, I'm sorry about last night, okay? I shouldn't have... I should've fought the wolfsbane, or..."
Stiles just stared back at him, shaking his head incredulously. Finally, in a much softer voice, he said, "Scott, I don't want you to be sorry that I had to save you. I just... I just wanna know that you don't actually believe what you said last night."
It was a simple request. It would take just two words. And yet...
Scott opened his mouth. Then he shook his head and closed it again, looking away with a piercing pain where his healed wound was just yesterday.
"You have to admit that a lot of what we've gone through wouldn't have happened if I hadn't..."
"Hadn't what?" He looked back up to see the reason for the quiver in Stiles' voice; tears shone in his wide eyes. "Hadn't survived being bitten by Peter? That's what you meant, wasn't it?"
He tilted his head but he didn't get a chance to deny or confirm. Stiles already knew. He looked like he might crumble into a million pieces.
"Scott," he said, his voice cracking as he moved closer. "I don't care what's happened to us. I don't care about the murderous werewolves or - or the hunters, or any of the crazy supernatural things that keep happening around us, alright? Because we've survived it, but what I wouldn't have survived was losing my best friend."
Scott bit his tongue, his eyes stinging. Part of him wanted to point out all the bad things - the numerous times he's put his life in danger, the people who haven't survived the craziness of their world, and everything else.
Then Stiles really did crumble. "Scott, I meant what I said last night. And I can't lose you. I can't - you and my dad, you're all... you're all I've got, and I can't - Scotty, I can't lose you as well. I need you. And I know how selfish that is, but it's true. So, if you need a reason to - to believe that you should be alive, then there it is. Me, Scott. Make me your reason if you have to, or your mom, or even Allison, because I promise you that none of us would be better off if you weren't here."
"You'd be safe, at least."
He didn't mean to say it. It just slipped out.
"You don't know that," Stiles countered, then he shrugged. "And even if that was true - I don't care. Scott, I'd rather be in danger every day of my life from some supernatural threat than live without you."
He didn't know what to say to that. All he could do was surge forward and hug him. Stiles immediately wrapped his arms tight around him, as if he never intended to let go.
"I'm sorry," he repeated quietly into his shoulder.
"Just make me a promise, Scotty. Alright? Promise that you'll talk to me, so that, when you start blaming yourself for every bad thing that's ever happened, I can tell you what an idiot you are."
Scott chuckled and nodded. "I promise." Then, he softly added: "I mean it."
Stiles tightened his arms just a little more. Both of them savoured the feeling of the other against them. Solid. Real. Alive. Safe. For a moment, they were as physically intertwined as they were in every other way.
Scott knew they should look for Derek. They should come up with a plan to stop the darach. But he wasn't ready to let go of the first real feeling of comfort he'd felt in a while.
#teen wolf#sciles#scott mccall#stiles stilinski#scott x stiles#stiles x scott#7 days of scarepairs#myedit*#derek hale#because scott's grief over derek destroyed me and then there's the added layer of stiles thinking he was about to lose scott#so he's thinking about his mom as well#and there's just a lot of angsty things being felt in general#and also motel california was like the scariest episode for me#so I felt it was fitting to delve a little into it for halloween#and also can we talk about how crazy it is that no one mentioned what happened at the motel afterwards?#they were like 'oh. it was wolfsbane. checks out' then they just never talk about the implications of what happened#like isaac obviously has his trauma. that makes sense#boyd though. I wanted to talk more about his guilt over alicia going missing but then they fucking killed him in the next episode so!#and ethan with the saw thing?? even just a scene of him talking to like danny or SOMEONE about his feelings behind that whole thing#like it was because he feels like he and aiden are one being and he can never be free of him? was it just because they can combine?#or was it like him being worried about aiden being back in beacon hills without him?#but truly the one we do not talk enough about is scott#it is never mentioned again afterwards that he felt like everyone would be better off if he was dead and I just think that's crazy#because sure. wolfsbane. but it was still to an extent scott saying all of it#and we know from the previous episode that he felt so guilty about derek possibly being dead that he would rather DIE than live with that#which is also crazy and doesn't get talked about enough#I need to know if derek knows about that actually#has anyone written a fic about that?#rarepair rowboat#rowing the rarepair rowboat

"Jules," She turns turn around to see Stiles rushing towards her.
"What's wrong?" She asks him seeing he was out of it.
Stiles explains how he has a dream about telling Scott about sleep paralysis a condition whereby the sleeper's brain paralyses the body to avoid acting out a dream in the real world. Stiles says sometimes the brain wakes before the body recovers and a person becomes aware they are paralyzed. Then goes on about how he woke up screaming while his dad held him.
"I wonder if the other two are going through things too." She grabs his hand dragging him off to find Scott and Allison.
They find Scott and he runs into the two making them ask if he's is alright. "I'm okay." Scott says and they knew he was lying.
"You're hallucinating." Stiles tells him as Lydia arrives with Allison and announces that it is happening to all three of them.
As they walk inside Lydia is thrilled that her and Julia and are no longer the crazy ones. Allison protests saying they're not crazy but Lydia mocks her saying their various symptoms, hallucinations, sleep paralysis are all signs of folks who are just fine.
"It's the side effects of Deaton talked about." Julia says so they all agree to keep an eye on each other. "Now we have History to get to." Julia takes off alone.
In history class, Mr. Yukimura introduces himself to the class explaining that he and his family moved to town three weeks ago and that his daughter attends the high school. He goes on to point out that his daughter never talks about people at school and has never brought anyone home, much to the embarrassment of his daughter who is sitting near the back of the class. She hits her head on the desk making everyone turn to look at her.
In the hallway at Stiles locker he tries to get into his locker but the combination lock isn't cooperating with him making Julia watch him. Scott goes on to say that maybe they just need a little more time to get back to normal but Stiles points out that they hit the reset button on a supernatural beacon for supernatural creatures and that things won't ever go back to normal.
"Stiles, do you need help?" Julia looks at his lock.
"No, I- Dude your eyes." Stiles says making Julia look at Scott to see his eyes red.
"Get him out of here." Julia pushes Stiles making him grab Scott directing him through the hall into a classroom where Scott begins to lose control of his transformation.
"I don't know if hags going right happen. Get back." Scott tells the two so Stiles keeps Julia behind him as Scott buries his claws into the palms of his hands drawing blood before he regains himself.
"Scott, this isn't just in our heads. This is real. And it's starting to get bad for me too. I'm not just having nightmares. I'm having dreams where I have to literally scream myself awake. And sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm actually ever waking up." Stiles bends down in front of him.
"What do you mean?" Scott asks.
"Do you know how you can tell if you're dreaming? You can't read in dreams. More and more the past few days. I've been having trouble reading. It's like I can't see the words. I can't put the letters in order."
"Like even now?" Scott asks him so he stands up to look at the board and posters and can't read a thing.
After school Stiles was taking Julia home and before she gets out she looks at him, "Hey, when you start having more episodes and things... Call me, okay. Hell, I'll even sleepover and try to help with your nightmares." She hops out.
"Thank you, Julia." Stiles gives her a smile.
"Of course." She closes the door.
-
The next day during class Julia sees Stiles zoned in on writing something while coach was trying to get his attention. Coach blows his whistle until he gets Stiles attention. "I'm okay. I just fell asleep for a second." Stiles tells Scott so him and Julia look at each other.
"Dude, you weren't asleep." Scott tells him and Julia points at his paper.
At the outdoor lunch area, Lydia, Allison, Isaac, Stiles, Scott, and Julia all discuss the hallucinations and waking dreams. At one point Isaac cracks a joke that people with the same symptoms end up in mental institutions. Stiles become agitated the two exchange words with Stiles demanding that he try to be helpful. Isaac countering that he spent half his childhood locked in a freezer and being helpful is a new thing.
"Dude, are you still milking that?" Stiles ask him.
"Yeah, I'm still milking that." Julia throws her head back as Kira walks up to them.
She says she overheard what they were talking about and, to her the symptoms sound like the Buddhist concept of Bardo. She said it's a transitional state of being between life and death, marked by visits from peaceful deities and demons and ultimately resulting in death.
After school Julia, Stiles and Scott go to visit Deaton to discuss the hallucinations and he says it sounds like Stiles' subconscious is trying to communicate with him through sign language. He works out the message Stiles was seeing in class.
"When is a door not a door?" Julia says making Deaton nod his head.
"You know sign language?" Stiles looks a Julia.
"Yeah, and other languages too."
"When it's ajar" Scott says making Stiles hate that it was a riddle.
Deaton tells them when they all died they opened a door in their minds and apparently left it partially open or ajar which he says is dangerous. He says they needed to close the doors in their minds as soon as possible.
As the three leave Noah shows up saying he was looking for Scott. He wanted help solving the Tate case, the apparent coyote attack from eight years before. He thinks that Scott might be able to follow her scent to the body.
The next day Noah, the boys and Julia go to the Tate Farm. While Noah talked to Mr. Tate the other three break into the missing little girl's bedroom. Scott is unable to find a trace of scent because the smell of the family dog is overwhelming everything else. They leave without any new leads and the Noah expresses regret at the scheme because he caused Mr. Tate pain by reopening the old wound left by the deaths of his family. Stiles explains why his father is so intent on solving the case immediately so he can solve one more while he's still sheriff.
"What do you mean still Sheriff?" Scott asks.
Julia looks down knowing since Stiles told her everything, "Your dad, is trying to impeach Noah..." She looks back up telling him.
Stiles drops Scott off at home and Julia was planning to stay the night at Stiles' place. Julia just changes into what Stiles gave her last time to wear, "Why are you on my side?" She laughs jumping onto the left side of the bed.
"It's just where I laid down. You can get the wall this time." He gives her a sassy smile so she rolls her eyes.
"I feel bad for your girlfriend when you get one. Making her sleep against the wall." Julia moves around to get comfortable.
"I doubt I'll ever get one. I'm nobody's type." Stiles laughs at himself.
"You're my type." Julia slips as she closes her eyes.
"What?" Stiles stares at her.
"Huh?" She opens her eyes confused.
"What you just said... I'm your type, really?" He asks and it hits her that she said that.
"Oh, I mean like... You're smart, funny, caring, super loyal to the people closest to you and would do anything to protect them." She lists feeling awkward as he just continues to look at her.
Luckily there was a knock at the door and it was Scott saying they were gonna go find the body, "Hopefully it will be easy with Julia. What are you doing here anyways?" Scott eyes her in the bed.
"Another sleepover but let's go." She jumps out of the bed to change clothes.
In the woods, the three manage to find the scene of the car wreck. The car was still there in the same spot where it crashed eight years before. Stiles speculates that it would have been too much trouble to tow it out from way back in the woods.
They find a doll in the wreckage, the same doll seen in a photograph at the Tate house earlier, the doll's voice box triggers and scares Stiles.
"I think I just had a minor heart attack." Stiles says as Julia cracks up and apologizes to him.
They hear growing and Scott notices two glowing eyes in the trees beyond. He calls on the two to confirm what he is seeing is real, then sets off after the grey furred creature.
"What the hell about us?" Julia looks at Stiles.
"Let's just look around." Stiles says so they stay close to each other walking around finding something so they go to look for Scott running into him causing the three all to scream, "I think we found something."
"So did I."
They go to the den and inside, they find Malia's clothes as well as some toys and are convinced that she is the creature. Scott says by invading the den, they've guaranteed that Malia won't return because their scent is everywhere.
Scott believes he could track her better if he transformed but says he can't due to his fear of losing control. He says since Derek hasn't responded to his texts they'll have to find someone else to help. Saying the den is a crime scene they call in Sheriff Stilinski.
The Sheriff is incredulous that the coyote is actually a girl. Scott and Stiles spin a scenario whereby the accident that killed the Tate family was caused when Malia transformed while her mom was driving. Malia, wracked with guilt at the death of her family, runs off into the woods and becomes trapped inside the body of a coyote. This is all speculation on their part and not confirmed fact. The sheriff is again incredulous and says it's insane.
Agent McCall shows up with Mr. Tate. He was angry and snaps at Scott that he'll talk to his mom about letting him run around the woods at night. Mr. Tate then confirms that some of the clothing found in the den belonged to Malia.
"Your dad is sick a dick." Julia says as they walk back to Stiles' jeep.
"Yep."
Back at Stiles' house, Julia changes clothes again getting back in Stiles' bed closing her eyes. When Stiles enters his room he sees Julia fast asleep already. He lays back in bed rolling over to face Julia. He couldn't help but taken in all her little features. She was beautiful even sleeping.
Reality sets in and Stiles quickly rolls over to face away from her. No, she's my friend. I can't ruin that. He repeats in his head over and over trying to fall asleep but her saying he was her type just kept creeping its way back into his mind.
"Sty, can you stop rocking, please." Julia mumbles with her eyes still closed.
"Oh, sorry. I'm just trying to fall asleep." He starts to bounce his leg nervously.
Julia scoots closer to cuddle him being the big spoon again, "It took you seconds last time." She rests her forehead on his shoulder blade.

Tumblr media
Monday, the worst day of the week and luckily for me all my friends were thankfully here. The weekend was surprisingly normal expect for the unusual drama between Allison and Scott, but besides that nothing supernatural happened until now.
Just when we thought things would get better we were now trying to figure out why a pack of alphas would try and take Erica and Boyd? What could the possibly want with them? Which now leads us to today.
Scott, Stiles, Isaac and I were trying to come up with a plan to help Isaac remember what happend to Erica and Boyd, when we all finally agreed on just taking Isaac to seee Deaton after school.
But just when I thought things couldnt get any worse for the day they took a turn for well the worst. Allison passed by us and Scott almost ran away claiming he needed to go call Derek which lead it to just being Stiles, Isaac and I.
Between the 2 minutes of awkward silence between the 3 of us I finally deceided to speak up. "So uhh what time should we meet Deaton." "Oh yeah um around like 5 ish I guess-" Stiles goes staring at Isaac. Isaac and I both nod our heads as the bell starts to ring. Which leaves us to all say our goodbye and go our ways. Isaac and I had classes while Stiles had a free, but as Isaac and I were walking away I could feel eyes on the back of my head. Those eyes just happend to belong to Stiles.
The rest of the day went by rather slow from coach's long lectures, to the never ending cheer practice but finally the day was done. Well exepct for the fact that I now had to go to the animal hospital and meet the boys. Even though I tried to convince myself that I felt normal I wasn't. Because deep down in the back of my head something was trying to tell me something, but for right now I hust couldnt figure it out.
I finally made it to the animal hospital only to find out the boys weren't here yet and it was just Derek, Deaton and I. Deaton left the room to get what he needed which left Derek and I alone. "Listen Y/N, has Isaac said anything to you lately." "Uhh no not at all why?" I started to look at Derek confusingly. "Oh no reason." It was very rarely that Derek and I had conversations, so the fact that he was trying to have a conversation with me to talk about Isaac was well, weird.
The door to the animal hospital swings right open and who would of thought who it was. " No IsAaC! Just because your nice to her, DOESNT MEAN SHE LIKES YOU, WHY WOULD SHE!" I hear Stiles loudly screaming/whispering. Really what the f*** was happening today. The boys finally walk in and Stiles decides to start ranting again. "Maybe we should ask her see who she agrees on better. Hey Y/N-" Before Stiles can finish what he can say, Isaac already has arm around Stiles neck.
"Alright that's enough for today. Let's think about the reason why were here." Deaton explains. Forgot about the reason where here I just wanna know what the guys where talking about.
Stiles, Scott, Isaac, Derek, Deaton and I finally all go around the big almost bathtub filled with ice. "Dont tell me this is what I have to do." Isaac looks at the tub in almost disgust. "Well unfortunately yes, I know it's not ideally comfortably but if we can slow your heart rate down enough you'll fall into a trance like state." Deaton describes to him. "Almost like being hypnotized?" Derek says looking at Deaton. "Exactly Isaac will be half transformed, it will allow us to access from his self conscious mind so we can get the memories we need."
"Well how slow does his heart rate need to be?"Scott looks at Deaton waiting for an awnser. "Very slow" he replies with. "How slow is very slow." I ask my body almost filling with anxiety. "Well umm almost dead." All of our eyes almost jump out of our heads wondering what we were getting Isaac into.
Isaac puts his hand in the water to really see how cold it is only for him to retract his hand back fast. "Is this safe?" He asks. "Would you like me to answer that." Deaton looks at Isaac saying. "Oh god." I groan while I run my fingers through my hair.
All of a sudden our thoughts are brung to the snapping sound. We all look back to see Stiles snapping a glove on his hand. "What?"
We all turn our heads back around and Issac begins to put his hand in the water again looking at eveyone. "So when should I start?" "Well there just one thing. Y/N I need your help on this." Deaton looks at me and eveyone turns there head. I nod wondering what hes going to say next. "Well for this to work Isaac's body he needs to be at a state of relaxation. Which is where you come in, I need you to hold his hand the whole time so he can grasp the fact of relaxation and reality." Deaton says and then looks at Isaac and I again.
Well I didnt think he was going to say that. "Okay, that all I have to do?" I look at Deaton questionly as he nods his head. "Wait how is Y/n supposed to hold my hand without me hurting her." Isaac says as he looks back to Deaton. "Well hopefully when you have the contact it should bring you to a state of realization."
We all start getting ready for Isaac to go in, but all of a sudden he comes closer to me and whispers "You sure your okay with this?" "Yeah of course, are you sure about this whole thing though?" I put my hand ontop of his for a moment and he smiles. " I guess I just have to be."
♡♡♡♡ POV of Stiles, Scott, & Derek->♡♡♡♡
"Why is he going so close to her." Stiles says whispering to Scott and Derek. "Oh I dont know Stiles why dont you ask them." Derek says sarcastically at the boys. "Pshhhh Scott tell me what there saying." Stiles goes and tells Scott. "There just talking about the hand thing." Scott looks at Stiles knowing he should propbaly calm down cause it's nothing.
"You know if you really like her you should probably tell her before someone elese does." Derek says pointing at Isaac and Y/N. Stiles huffs and turns back around and whispers "Eventually someday if she ever feels the same."
♡♡♡Boys Pov Ends -> 3rd person POV♡♡♡♡
"Alright eveyone ready!" Deaton says looking at the 5 of us. "Ready then I'll ever be" I hear Isaac mutters. I gotta admit at first I thought this little "crush" I had on Isaac was slowly fading, but now seeing him stand in front of me while he takes his shirt off the feelings start to arise again.
"Show off" Stiles mutters. Just when I thought things couldnt get any more difficult I get put in the most uncomfortable situation where I have to hold my crushes hand and have to feel the death glare of my childhood crush on my other side.
Isaac finally gets the courage and slowly started to emerge himself in the ice bath. He slowly gets in and starts breathing heavily. Isaac put his hand out for me and I took it with ease. He smiles at me and nods his head reading my mind when I was asking him if he was okay. Surprisingly his hand was alot warmer than I thought it would be, and now I was just hoping that no one could see the blush on my cheeks.
Scott and Derek stand behind Isaac in the tub and starts to emerge him. We all look at each other as Isaac starts to thrash and yell but he never transformed info a werwolf. Still staying in his human form.
Scott, Stiles, Derek, Deaton, and I all look at each other and I question what we do now. "Now in a couple of seconds I can start to ask question." Deaton says looking at Isaac to see if he was ready. I turn my attention to Stiles and Scott and I can already see the tension starting to arise. My anxieties start to quicken as I let go of Issacs hand, his body soon starts to float in the water.
"Now remember only I ask the questions, too many voice will draw him out." Deaton says making eveyone step away from the tub. "Now Isaac I want you to remember for me where you where on the night of when Erica and Boyd went missing." Eveyone listens closely as we watched Issacs pale skin begin to move.
"It started out at Y/N house. We were both studying for global and around 9 I got a text from Boyd." All the boys started to look in my way. Stiles face complety changed and bumped my arm and mouthed.
" You too hung out together." I rolled my eyes and mouthed back to him. "Yes Stiles we were studying." Stiles sighs loudly which makes Scott keep his eye on us. I could already see Stiles getting irritable which is when I knew he was going to start whispering loudly. "Yeah studying that's what it always is." Deaton taps his fingers, hushes us and begins to talk. "Now where were we."
♡♡♡♡♡ 10 minutes later Isaac is out of his trance and finally out of the ice water♡♡♡♡♡
Isaac springs out of the water with a gasp. Water starts flying everywhere as Isaac leaps out of the tub. Since no one decided to move into action I grabbed the towel near Stiles and gave it to Isaac. Once again Stiles turned his back and began to keep to himself. Isaac was shivering rapidly and Deaton told him to go sit on the heaters near by.
After the long meeting that we all had deciding what our next move on the Boyd and Erica situation was it was time for us to finally all go home. It was in the parking lot when I then realized the unwanted attention that was brought upon me. I had a feeling that eveyone knew something that I didn't.
Stiles starts to walk to his car pissed off once agian but then to find out his car wouldnt turn on. "Ohhhhh WHAT THE H*** WHYYYYYYYY!" We all turned around wondering what the promblem was, but wasnt surprised when Stiles took some random part out of his car. "Why, WHY, WHY ME. Y/N do you still have that duck tape in your car?"
Ughhhh Stiles and his duck tape. "Yeah but Sti I dont think duck tape is gonna fix this one." Hesitianly I walk over to Stiles to give him the duck tape. "You guys can just drive back with me it's no big deal." I say looking at the boys. "I mean I would offer but I'm driving all the way back to my house and I am not coming I'm between this high school drama." Derek looks between the four of us and gets into his car.
"Well so much for help." Stiles mutters. I bump into Stiles then motion for all the boys to come into the car. Now you would of thought that with Scott being in the car the awkward silence would of been more peaceful, but who would of know it wasnt.
At this point I've have had enough of this drama and on the next red light I decided that the talking would began. "Okay I cant do this anymore, whats going on?" I looked at Scott who only motioned to Stiles and Isaac in the back seat, only to find out the two were facing the opposite way.
"Listen Y/n, this dramas between you 3 I have nothing to do with this." Scott looks behind the seats looking directly at Stiles and Isaac.
"Well that was blunt" Stiles whispers and kicks the back of Scott's seat only for him to look at Stiles in the mirror one more time. Once again the silence won for another time. "Uhh the lights green." Isaac says nudging my shoulder. "Oh why thank you captain oblivious, I think she knew that already!" Even in the dark I could still see Stiles rolling his eyes once again.
Debating whose house I should stop at first I decided that dropping Stiles, and Isaac off first would be ideal. So at least in one way I could get something out of Scott.
Finally after dropping off Stiles, and Isaac. Scott and I are alone. Driving up to his house we both relaized what was going to happen.
"Scott what's been going on between Stiles and Isaac. I mean they've been acting so distant and everything's a fight between them?" Scott looks at me questionly almost like he was too shocked that I didnt know what was going on.
"You really have no clue why there fighting?" I shook my head only for Scott to smile even more. "Well you know how Stiles and Isaac are always fighting for your attention and how tonight Stiles was getting jealous when you were with Isaac." I questionly nod my head only noticing it now. "Well let's just say that they both aren't happy with each other at the minute because they both want something the other cant have." With those words I quicky knew what Scott meant and my eyes imitedled widened.
All this time the fighting and the arguements, the awkwardness, and the drama it was all because of one promblem. One situation that was both coming between them, and of course I didnt notice it now. Now I had to realize that I was the reason between the fights and the drama. But not only was I the drama, but now had two boys who I both love feel the same way.
With those words Scott said his goodbye and left the car leaving me with what he said in deep thoughts. If it wasnt for him I wouldn't of realize what happend between the boys that night, and I wouldnt of realized the huge decision that was left to make. Which one would it be?

“Ok. Look. I get that it was upsetting but I need to know more.” Stiles said slowly. You were swinging your legs over the side of his desk that you’d sat on the end of. You sighed and looked at him.
“Why? I don’t want to talk about it.” You insisted childishly and Stiles sighed.
“Because there is an Alpha roaming around out there, stealing people, and he almost got you! We need to stop him.” Stiles insisted.
“Well he said if he let me go and left him alone, he’d leave me alone.” You reminded him. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Also you’re only a detective so you can’t boss me around like your dad. Who is the Sheriff.”
“Actually I can boss you around, I’m a deputy and also I’m the second in command in the pack!” Stiles said as he leant on his desk. You pulled a face and shook your head, he mimicked your head shake and looked confused for a moment.
“Actually Lydia is the second in command and Scott is just incharge because of the wolf thing… so.”
“(Y/N)! Tell me what the alpha said or I'm going to lose it!” Stiles snapped. The Sheriff knocked on the door and gave Stiles a look before closing the door to the office.
“I don’t know if he said something like…” You trailed off and Stiles stared at you. This war the most he’d gotten out of you in an hour and he was starting to feel like he was losing the plot. When Peter had said witches were difficult and talked in riddles he hadn’t believed him, mostly because the closest he’d come to meeting a witch was Deaton. But you were obstinate to the point he felt like he  might just retire already. “I am, what psychiatrists call, alpha male.”
“What?” Stiles said as he’d zoned out and honestly was somewhat confused by what you said.
“That's what he said, Stiles!” You insisted, sounding irritated, he hadn’t paid attention, which was fair, he thought to himself. “I am, what psychiatrists call, alpha male.” You repeated in a deep voice as you puffed up your face and made a deep frowning face.
“That’s all?” Stiles said as he sat down in his chair and looked a little defeated.
“Um… well yeah. He also said that he beat Peter at a game of basketball once and that there used to be a basketball team at his highschool, wayback when and that coach was on his team before he transferred.” You said and Stiles gave you a look as if he wished you would erupt into flames right there on the edge of his desk.
“He knew coach!”
“Well yeah, that’s why he’s looking for him, because Coach has the only photo of him before his accident and it can all be traced to him. That’s what he told me anyway.” You said casually.
“(Y/N) why didn’t you say that when you first came in!” Stiles seethed.
“Well it didn’t seem important at the time. Now will you give me my spell book and let me go?” You insisted. He relented and handed over the book, glaring at you as you went on. Then hurried to phone Scott and fill him in, with several complaints about having to work with witches.

Hey I requested the isaac lahey imagine ‘memories’ I was wondering if u could do it where it’s before she died and it’s the part where Ethan, Aiden and isaac get possessed by those flies but instead of isaac it’s y/n and she attacks the twins and stuff and instead of isaac and Allison sleeping together it’s her and isaac( this is not a smut just the build up to it) and she’s all seductive and dominant and taunting and the aftermath when she isn’t possessed anymore .
Stupid Fly
Isaac Lahey x reader
Summary: Isaac isn’t the one to be possessed by Void but instead its you.

A/N: Okay so I watched the episode so I hope this is accurate. I’m really not good at the build up thing so sorry about that.

Your fingers dug into the cover that you sat on, eyes fixed on the ground as your feet swung slightly. Patiently waiting for Isaac, you stopped swinging your feet and began tapping them instead. Your usual bright and lively eyes had this dark swirl to them that didn't fit, that was natural. You didn't hear his footsteps or the bag in his hand hit the ground and only turned when you heard his voice, "What are you doing here?" When your eyes met his, you only held his gaze for a second or two before scanning his face, "I thought I'd wait for you to come back. You didn't just walk out of the hospital, did you?" Isaac shrugged, falling next to you as he scanned you in caution. He could tell something was off, "It's okay. I feel a lot better. All healed," you reached a hand up, fingers grazing his cheek as your eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
"So you're okay?" Isaac didn't like the tone of your voice, soft concern and care that was usually present gone. He nodded, hand going to hold yours and pull it down to the space between the two of you, "What's wrong?" You stared down at your joined hands before giving his a slight squeeze and finally meeting his eyes once more. In response, you simply shrugged and a small smirk made your lips twitch up, "Just wanted to see you," You had leaned in and although he wished it hadn't, all reason had left Isaac as you had inched closer. He could no longer think about you seemed off, that you seemed too confident and too bold because this was the closest you had been since he had talked to about getting back together. You had been avoiding him as you said you had to work out your feelings. Maybe you had, maybe this was you finalising a decision and deciding to just go with it. But this wasn't how you would do it that nagging voice in the back of his head kept screaming at him. That voice was successfully silenced as your lips were pressed gently to his and it took near to no time for him to kiss. You hand went to his chest and you gently pushed him back wards and onto the bed as you continued.
Your hands moved to his hair, lips kissing across his cheek and to his jaw as Isaac leaned his head back to give you more access. Your hand moved to his jaw, tilting his head to face you. You both started giggling as you pecked his lips repeatedly before he finally pulled you close enough to place a longer kiss to your lips.
-
Light streamed through the crack in the curtains as the soft hum of traffic and nature twisted together and filled the room. Isaac sighed, rolling over to see you and frowning when he realised you were up and out of bed instead of cuddling close like when the two of you fell asleep. He sat up, leaning on his elbows as he watched pick up random objects to admire before placing them back. "There you are. What are you doing over there?" You glanced back over your shoulder with a small smile and you placed the small picture frame back on the dresser and leaning back onto it, "You know, I was at Allison's the other day. We were working on that text, before you came over that is. There's still a lot of weapons there. I thought her new Code was about protecting," Isaac shrugged, not understanding where you were going with this. He sat up a bit more, leaning against the head of the bed as he observed every move of yours. The way you stared around the room, how you didn't bothered by the way that you were topless with your bra on display when you normally would be, how there was this permanent smirk toying your swollen lips.
"Most of them are non-lethal," He defended and your eyes snapped back to him as you nodded, turning back to the things in his room. "Hmm... The daggers looked pretty lethal to me," he could hear the edge to your voice and frowned at the way your fingers tapped a quick beat against the book you held, "But maybe she should keep them. There's still a few of us out there who aren't quite so non-lethal... like the twins," This made him shoot up, reaching for his shirt as his frown got deeper, eyebrows knitting together in worry and confusion, "I thought we were going to give them a second chance?" He gave a small nervous laugh when you didn't seem to react at all, "You're the one to talk me into it," Isaac pointed out and this time, you spun round with an angered expression pulling at your features. Your teeth dug into you bottom lip before you shrugged and snapped, "I changed my mind, they don't deserve it,"
Isaac moved closer to the other end of the bed, reaching for your hands to pull you closer, really panicked by the wild in your eyes. "Things are different now. It doesn't have to be like that anymore," You scoffed at his words, rolling your eyes at the seriousness and concern in his. You took his hands in yours and took those few steps closer before leaning down closer to his lips, "You do remember them trying to kill you numerous times, right?" Isaac gave you pleading as he shook his head at your determination. He wasn't liking where this was going, "They're helping," You dropped his hands with a frown, backing away as you grabbed your top from the floor and pulled it on, "I had a feeling you'd say something like that," He watched you walk out out of the room, slamming the door behind you as you heard him shout after you, "Y/N, wait! Y/N!"
-
"See? That's what I'm talking about. I'd probably be in his pack by now if it wasn't for my psychotic brother - the one who has to kill everything in sight," you smiled to yourself when you heard their voices, gripping the weapon you stole from Allison tighter as you tried to find them. They keep shouting like that and it'll only make it easier, no werewolf abilities needed. "Careful, Ethan... You're currently the only thing in my sight," As you turned the corner, you saw them go for each other and a smirked pulled at your lips. They really did like making it easier for you. You raised the gun you had in your hands, shooting Ethan in the back and watching them both writhe in pain fro the electricity flowing through them. Swinging the gun to rest across your shoulder you took a step closer, "I guess this is the part where I say something witty,"
You gave a small hollow chuckled, hitting Ethan in the face with the back of the gun when you were closer enough, successfully knocking him out. Your smirk fell and you turned to Aiden with that emotionless face and deadly look in your eyes that made a shiver run down his spine. Or maybe that was the electricity. You crouched down to him, head tilting as you scanned his face. With the shake of your head and the small quirk up of your lips, you whispered, "I'm not witty," and knocked him out just like twin.
You dumped the gun and with a huff, began to drag them to the boys locker room. You dropped their hands, letting them hit the ground with a small smack and turned to Coach's office. Digging through his drawers, a frown made its way to your lips as you began to mutter to yourself, "Come on, Coach. You gotta have a lighter," the smirk took its place back on your lips as you lifted the lighter to be level with your eyes. You grabbed the bottle of alcohol with the piece of fabric stuffed into the top, hesitantly slightly. Was this really the best idea? Shaking your head at the thought, you reassured yourself, "I'm gonna burn it down... For Erica... For Boyd... For Isaac... For everyone! I'm gonna burn it. I'm gonna burn it," with final nod, you walked out to stand by the twins, lighting the fabric. Just as you about you were to throw at them, the fabric was pulled out of the bottle and you turned to see Kira with her katana in hand. You stood in silence for a beat or two before you shrugged, "Nice sword,"
The bottle fell from your hands and smashed by your feet but you couldn't care less, immediately focusing on attacking Kira. You were doing this and if she got in your way then you'd just have to deal with it, right? She managed to push you to the ground and you huffed out in frustration. Why couldn't she just leave you to do it? "Y/N!" You turned, seeing Allison and Isaac both standing either side of Kira. Slowly pulling yourself up, you shook out your arms and rolled your shoulders as the three backed away into Coach's office. Allison closed the door as Isaac and Kira pushed the desk in front to block you out. The twins had stood up behind you and you spun to face them, claws beards as you heard the others talk in Coach's office, "Was that a good idea?"
"Probably not," You swung first and managed to hit Aiden but Ethan got you from behind and you could Kira's worried voice as you struggled, "They're not going to kill each other, are they?" You stomped on Ethan's foot and got out of his grip only for Aiden to get you. Ethan joined him and they both shoved you into the door, the window shattering upon impact. "I think they're going to try," Isaac muttered.
Somehow, you'd got a slight upper hand and was managing perfectly fighting the two at once. That was until the other three began to try and break you apart. They eventually managed to take control, Isaac's main focus being you. Deaton had arrived soon enough, pulling the stupid fly that had managed to sneak through a cut on your side from the Oni's sword, just like Derek. Isaac could see the regret cross your face, hands rubbing at your eyes before you shot up and began profusely apologising to the twins. You couldn't look at the blonde as you helped the twins up and heard the update from Deaton and it wasn't until afterwards and Isaac pulling actually pulling you away from the others, did you finally look up at him. "You okay?" He asked quick, scanning you over. Even with Deaton saying you were fine, Isaac couldn't help but worry. "I'm fine," you turned to go but Isaac pulled you right back making a low growl leave your lips. The boy dropped your wrists, backing away as your eyes flickered to their beta yellow and back before a hand slapped over your mouth in shock. "I'm so sorry," you mumbled and Isaac was quick to hold your hand and reassure you. "No, hey, it's okay," he paused, taking a deep breath before leaning forward slightly and avoiding eye contact as he asked, "Do you regret it?"
"What? No, of course not. I still love you. I just, I didn’t want to have it happen that way, you know? And it was...different. Not bad, just it was weird ‘cause I was possessed-” Isaac’s chuckle cut off your ramble, a blush rising on your cheeks as you watched him smile at you. “It wasn’t exactly the way I wanted it to happen either,” he interlaced his fingers with yours as you both stared at your hands, dopey smiles on your lips. “I wanna work this out, I do. I just need a bit more time,” Isaac met your eyes, noticing the crease in your brows and the small frown on your lips and the way you tilted your head to meet his eyes. He nodded slowly, not letting go of your hand just yet. He didn’t want to ever let go.
You finally pulled away, sent a half grin and began to make your way down the hall, disappearing from his sight as you turned the corner.

You Saved Me - Derek Hale x fem!reader part 11
 -----------------
As soon as I walked into the veterinarian office, I felt it. Like a total drain of my muscles and my head started to hurt.
“Mountain ash.” Dr. Deaton said as he came out from around the corner, “It weakens werewolf abilities so they cannot shift their form.”
“That would explain it.” I smiled, shoving my hands in my pockets.
“How can I help you, (Y/N).” He knew my name.
I squinted at him, “Have we met?”
“We have, but you wouldn’t remember. You were here with some minor injuries and your parents weren’t sure if you were going to turn and just in case…the hospital found something interesting.” He said, a small smile on his face, “But I see you have finally turned.”
I nodded, “Yeah, but I don’t know how.”
“I believe I may have an answer.” He pulled out a book from the front desk. It was a dark leather bound book, its pages were brown with age.
“It was a spell used by werewolf clans that were being hunted hundreds of years ago, in France, Scotland, England. In some cases, werewolf hunters would test werewolves in their human form with Mountain ash, rendering them unconscious. Et obscuratus lupum. Wolf Eclipse.” I looked at the book, seeing a drawing of what looked like a child, half human, half wolf.
“Parents would perform this spell to cloak their child from hunters. The Mountain ash wouldn’t affect them and they would be spared and safe until they could transform. This spell would also remove any memories of werewolf behavior from beyond that point so they couldn’t give away the rest of the clan by accident.”
I looked down at the desk, “But why now? Why did I turn now? And why am I an alpha? I’ve never killed anyone.”
“As for your turning now, many children are given back their power by their parents. Or if their parents were killed, they usually don’t unless something triggers the change - high stress, fear, terror, torture. But I can’t explain the alpha part, the only people who could were your parents.”
-
“Derek? Derek!” Isaac’s voice echoed through the building.
“What’s wrong?” Derek turned away from what he was doing. Isaac looked frantic and scared.
“My dad… I think he’s dead…”
“What did you do?” Derek asked firmly.
“That’s the thing…It wasn’t me.”
I woke up on the couch. Not the best place to sleep all night.
I sat up and cracked my back, twisting from side to side. I shuffled into the kitchen, seeing Uncle Noah already there.
“Morning, kiddo.” He said, sipping his coffee. He went with the dark roast this morning. Bitter. Something serious had happened.
“Morning.”
“We found Lydia, I don’t know if you heard.” He said.
I nodded, “Of course, talk of the town. Stiles is gonna get an A in economics.”
He shook his head, a small smile on his face. He was still slightly sleepy, meaning I could probably get something out of him about what’s making him leave this early.
“What’s going on?”
He yawned and raised his eyebrows. He looked around the corner then back to me, “Promise you won’t tell Stiles. And I’m only telling you because it involves one of your players.”
“Isaac?” I asked, “Is he okay?” Uncle Noah narrowed his eyes at me, clearly confused how I knew.
“I had my own questions about his home life. A guess.”
“Well we found his dad dead this morning. Mauled to death in his car in an alleyway.”
“Mauled?” Great… This is exactly what we needed with this hunter situation going around. Didn’t Derek tell Isaac that humans were off limits, especially right now? Isaac didn’t seem like the type, but if he was getting abused, maybe he couldn’t take it anymore.
“Yeah, not pretty. Oh, by the way.” He rifled through the mail, “This came for you at the station.” It was a brown envelope. It had multiple stamps and postmarks. The text was written in old English calligraphy.
“The Lunar Circle.” I shook my head, “Never heard of it.” I looked at the return address, “Scotland?”
“I guess so.” He looked at his watch, “Alright, gotta go.” He kissed the top of my head, making his way out the door.
-
I got into the locker room later than usual, but in time to watch Scott and Stiles stare at a chain that was falling out of Stiles’ locker. Coach walked between the two of them, staring at the chain as it finished pooling on the floor.
“Part of me wants to ask… the other part says knowing will be more disturbing than anything I could ever imagine. So, I’m gonna walk away.” Before I could speak to the two, Coach slipped the blind fold onto my eyes, the elastic slapping the back of my head.
“Good looking out.” I nodded vaguely in his direction. Stiles shoved a bag in my hands, Scott and Stiles started shoving the chain into it and froze, Scott tensed up.
Another scent. Someone like us.
“There’s another in here.” Scott said.
“Another what?” Stiles asked.
“Another werewolf.”
Once the players were on the field, Stiles pulled me aside.
“Alright, switch Scott with Danny for goal and then you use your sniffer on the guys on the bench.”
I raised my eyebrows at him, still not over what he said the other day.
He stared for a minute, then closed his eyes, “The silent treatment, really?”
I smiled slyly, nodding.
“Oh my god.” He groaned, “Look, I’m sorry. I know you’re just trying to protect me. I get it. We can have this conversation later, please.”
I thought about it for a minute, then nodded, “Fine. I’ll go tell Coach.” I found Finstock and told him.
“Why would I want McCall in goal? McCall is co-captain. He needs to play offense.”
“That’s true, but what happens when Danny gets hurt during a match. Are you gonna put in someone from second line or someone with those reflexes?” He stared for a minute, thinking about what I just said.
“Think about it like this. Danny’s out, it’s tied and we are ten seconds from overtime. Who are you putting in? Second line or McCall.”
He nodded and chuckled, “Good thinking.” He turned back to the other players and blew his whistle, “Let’s go! Line up!” Players made their way onto the field, “Faster! Make daddy proud.” Daddy… I hate it. I scanned the line up, there was number fourteen at the end - Isaac.
Coach blew the whistle again, signaling the drills to start. Scott ran from the goal, tackling the player. Scott was many things. Subtle was not one of them.
“McCall!” Coach shouted, his eyes wide and his hair seemed even wilder.
“Yeah?”
“Usually, the goalie stays somewhere within the vicinity of the actual goal.”
“Yes, Coach.”
“Let’s try it again!”
“What the hell, man?” The player shouted. His name was…  Matt Daehler if I remembered correctly.
Coach blew the whistle again, throwing another ball into play. Again, Scott knocked the next player down.
“McCall!” Coach called again, “The position’s goalkeeper, not goal-abandoner!’
“Sorry, Coach…”
“Let’s go!” He blew the whistle. Again, Scott knocked the next man down.
“Stiliniski!” Coach pulled Stiles up by his helmet. Stiles stood up from the bench on the other side of me, “What the hell is wrong with your friend?”
“Uh, he’s failing two classes, he’s a little socially awkward, and if you look close enough, his jawline is kinda uneven.” Stiles said in a rush.
Coach and I turned heads to the side, looking at McCall. Was his jaw always crooked? Had I not noticed in all of this time?
“That’s interesting.” He said, dropping Stiles' helmet. Scott knocked over Danny next, landing on top of him. Danny was having a good year so far.
“McCall!” Coach shouted, clearly frustrated, “You come out of that goal one more time, and you’ll be doing suicide runs ‘til you die! It’ll be the first ever suicide run that actually ends in a suicide! Got it?”
“Yes, Coach.”
“Yeah!” Coach glared.
Jackson looked at Scott warily, “Uh, Coach, my shoulder’s hurting… I’m gonna-I’m gonna sit this one out…” He watched out of the line and onto the bench. What’s gotten into him? Besides not the bite. Scott ran forward at Isaac. But instead of Scott taking him down, they both collided and fell to the ground. That’s when I saw Scott pause, he found his werewolf.
“Dad?” Stiles asked. I turned around, seeing Uncle Noah and two other officers heading towards the field. They must have been coming to bring Isaac in for questioning.
“Don’t tell them…Please don’t tell him.” I heard Isaac say.
-
I stayed back with the rest of the team while Finstock was talking to Uncle Noah. Scott was listening in on the conversation.
“His father’s dead. They think he was murdered.” Scott said.
Stiles looked at me, “Is that what you and my dad were talking about this morning?”
“There may have been something Uncle Noah told me not to tell you.” I grinned innocently.
“Come on…” Stiles sighed, “Are they saying he’s a suspect?”
“I’m not sure. Why?”
“Because they can lock him in a holding cell for twenty-four hours…”
“Like, overnight?”
“Those generally are the same amount of time, yes.” I said.
“During the full moon.” The full moon. Not only would it be Isaac’s first turn, it was going to be mine.
“Crap.” I mumbled.
“How good are these holding cells at holding people?”
“People? Good. Werewolves? Probably not that good.” Stiles said grimly.
“Stiles, remember when I said I don’t have the urge to maim and kill?”
“Yeah…”
“He does.” How Scott could tell that, I couldn’t tell. Because I didn’t get that vibe.
-
I made my way through the hall, seeing Uncle Noah in the hall outside the principal's office.
“What’s going on?” I asked, not seeing Isaac near.
“We’re interviewing Jackson Whittemore. He’s Isaac’s neighbor, we’re just trying to see if he knows anything. I’m just waiting to meet the new principal.”
“New principal?” I asked. Right after I spoke, the door opened. And there stood Gerard Argent. I tried to hide my shock when I saw him, since the last time I saw him I watched him cut someone in half.
“Sheriff Stilinski, I’m terribly sorry to keep you waiting. Just a phone call from one of my teachers.” He said in his brogue, he turned to me, “And Miss (Y/N), assistant coach for our lacrosse team. I have been anxious to meet you.” He held out his hand. Oh, he was anxious? Yeah definitely.
I blinked, a small smile on my face, “It’s good to meet you as well. I apologize for my shock, I was not aware that you had been hired.” I shook his hand. His hands felt cold, like the ice in his heart spread through his veins.
“I understand. It was quite unexpected. But I am excited to get started.” He played his role well. An older man happy to help and be accommodating to his new surroundings. I knew the truth though, and it terrified me. But I needed to lay low and stay on his good side for right now. He declared war, no longer following the code and Chris couldn’t stop him like he stopped Kate.
“Of course. I’m excited to work with you too, Mr…?”
“Argent.”
“Oh like Allison. She’s such a sweet girl, I always see her at games.”
“She became a fan.” He nodded. In the distance, I could hear Jackson’ walking down the hall. How did I know it was Jackson? His brand new shoes squeaked.
“Well, I gotta head out. Delivery came to the front office for the team. Pearls and crosses. It was good meeting you, Principle Argent.”
“Please, call me Gerard.” He smiled.
I grinned and nodded, “Gerard.” I looked at Uncle Noah, “I’ll see you tonight.”  I made my way towards the front office, glad that the hunter couldn’t hear my heart beating out of my chest.
“You okay?” Derek’s voice echoed in my head.
I sighed, taking a deep breath, “No. They took Isaac into lock up, Gerard is the principal, and I am going to turn tonight whether I want to or not and I’m scared.”
“We’ll talk.”
-
I sat on the front steps, looking over the envelope. The Lunar Circle. Was this something my parents were involved in? Just as I was about to open the envelope, I got a text from Scott to meet him and Derek at Isaac’s house.
So I met them there, looking up at the sky. I had already cracked all of my knuckles so now I just was wearing a hole in my shoe from tapping.
“Are you alright?” Scott asked.
“I don’t know, Scott, were you okay when you turned the first time? Because I can recall you almost killing me the last time.” My eyes flashing red.
“Hey, I apologized for that.” Scott defended himself.
“(Y/N), look at me.” Derek stood in my line of vision. The red left my eyes and I sighed.
“Sorry, I’m just… anxious.” I clenched and unclenched my hands.
We snuck into the Lahey household, making our way down to the basement.
“If Isaac didn’t kill his father, who did?” Scott asked as Derek led us through the house. Derek moved slowly, keeping a flashlight beam ahead.
“I don’t know yet.”
“Then how do you know he’s telling the truth?”
“Because I trust my senses. And it’s a combination of them.” He looked at Scott over his shoulder, “Not just your sense of smell.”
“You saw the lacrosse thing today?” Scott asked sheepishly.
“So you saw him tackle and sniff everyone on the field, his big plan.” I added.
“Yeah.” Derek said plainly.
“Did it look bad?”
“Yeah.” Derek and I said together. Derek opened the door and we all looked down to the bottom of the basement, Scott and Derek’s eyes lit up the space a little, enough to see what was below. There were the usual things - chairs, dust bunnies, boxes.
“You wanna learn?” Derek asked, “Start now.”
“What’s down there?”
“Motive.” We started down the stairs.
“And what are we looking for?”
“Follow your senses.” Derek said. I strayed from the group, seeing dust covered toys and games, covered with age and gray. It looked like a normal basement, but it felt like something terrible had happened here. Derek took my hand in his, pulling me back to them.
“What happened down here?” Scott asked.
“The kind of thing that leaves an impression.” Derek said in a low voice. It was kind of creepy, in addition to the spider web covered basement. As we went further into the basement, we saw chains hanging from the wall. My heart sank. I took Derek’s flashlight and lit up the floor, there were groove marks in the floor. Scott bent down and placed his fingers within the groove. Scratches in the cement floor. My attention was brought to a large freezer in the corner of the with a rusted padlock. The energy radiating from the cooler made my heart drop into my stomach.
“Open it.” Derek told Scott as we stood in front of it. Scott took off the lock and lifted up the lid of the freezer. My mouth fell open in shock, tears burning at my eyes. Scratch marks, covering the entire inside of the freezer. The worst were the rust covered marks, meaning that Isaac was so desperate to fight his way to freedom that his fingers bled. I turned away from the freezer, feeling nauseous. Leaning over, my hands on my knees.
“This is why he said yes to you?” Scott asked.
“Everyone wants power.”
“If I help you, you have to stop. You can’t just go around turning people into werewolves!” Scott had a point. It was dangerous to be a werewolf right now. That’s why my parents did that ritual on me.
“I can if they’re willing.”
“Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?”
“Yes, and he still asked.”
“Then he’s an idiot!” Scott shouted.
I stood back up and stared at Scott, “An idiot? He’s been tortured his whole life, Scott, and he’s the idiot for trying to save himself.” There was a growl in my voice as my anger rose. Derek put a hand on my arm.
“You’re the idiot dating Argent’s daughter.” Scott looked shocked at Derek’s words, “Yeah, I know your little secret. And if I know, how long do you think it’s gonna take for them to find out?”
Derek grabbed Scott by the shoulder, “You saw what happens to an omega. With me, you learn how to use all your senses. With me, you learn control.” He lifted Scott’s clawed hand, “Even on a full moon.” Seeing Scott’s hands, I lifted mine and saw the claws had grown in. I hadn’t even felt them come out.
Scott pulled his hand away, “If I’m with you, I lose her.”
“You’re gonna lose her anyway. You know that.”
I shook my head, thinking about the night Peter was killed. The look in Allison’s eyes as she shot arrows into Derek and I was cold, no emotion at all. “Scott, don’t you remember what happened? She shot us down.”
“That wasn’t her, that was Kate.” He defended her, like a love sick puppy.
“Was it? You didn’t get to see her when Kate brought her down to that cellar and watched as Derek got electrocuted, over and over. She did nothing to stop her, she knew it was wrong but she didn’t stop her. Allison’s loyalties are never going to be with us.” My voice was calm but the shaking was starting to take over. It felt like my chest was going to burst at any moment. Even my gums ached.
“Come on.” Derek said softly in my ear. He escorted me to the stairs, a gentle hand on the small of my back.
“Wait!” We turned back to face Scott, “I’m not part of your pack… but I want him out. He’s my responsibility too.”
“Why? Because he’s one of us?”
“Because he’s innocent.”
-
I sat in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s office, tapping my fingers on the steering wheel. I can’t do this. How can I help break Isaac out of jail when I can’t even keep myself in control. I shouldn’t be around people. I shouldn’t be around Stiles or anyone else in the deputy department. I jumped when I heard the knocking at my window. Derek and Stiles stood there, looking a little concerned. I opened my door and got out, sticking close to Derek. If anyone could stop me from attacking Stiles it was him.
“Okay. Now, the keys to every cell are in a password-protected lock-box in my father’s office. The problem is getting past the front desk.” Stiles stared at me like I was from Mars, “I gotta tell ya, I don’t think I’m going to get used to the red eyes anytime soon.”
“Yeah, me either.” My voice had a growl too, quickly shutting my mouth.
“Well, there goes plan A. Letting you distract the front desk.” I glanced inside, seeing a woman sitting there, sipping her coffee.
“I’ll distract her.” Derek said, turning towards the building.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Stiles grabbed onto Derek’s jacket and pulled him back., “You? You’re going in there?” Derek eyed Stiles hand, then Stiles, telling him to get his hands off of him in his usual way - without words.
“I’m takin’ my hand off.” Stiles quickly pulled his hand away.
“I was exonerated.”
“You’re still a person of interest.”
“An innocent person.”
“Ah-” Stiles blew out air, “You? Yeah right.” He sighed, “What’s your plan?”
“To distract her.” Derek said impatiently.
Stiles nodded, “Ahuh, how? By punching her in the face?”
Derek let out a fake laugh, “By talking to her.”
“Is he even charming?” Stiles looked at me. Derek looked at me expectantly while I thought for a minute.
“Compared to when I first met him, he’s very charming.” I smiled awkwardly.
Stiles rubbed his temples, “Okay. Alright. Give me a sample. What are you gonna open with?” Derek only stared.
“Dead silence. That should work beautifully. Any other ideas?” Stiles asked sarcastically.
“I’m thinking about punching you in the face.” Derek said snidely. Once Stiles agreed, we made our way towards the station but before we went in, I pulled Derek aside.
“I can’t do this.” I looked up at the moon, “My body feels like it's going to fall apart and I feel so angry and-”
“Just hold out a little longer.” He placed a hand on my cheek, “As soon as we get Isaac out, I’m gonna bring you somewhere where you can let it all out and you won’t hurt anyone. But right now I need you to get inside and make sure nothing happens to Isaac. There’s a hunter in there who’s going to kill him.”
“Okay, I’ll try.”
Derek led the way into the station, Stiles and I stayed low to avoid the deputy.
“Good evening, how can I help-” She paused, looking up at Derek, “you?”
Derek gave her a thousand watt smile, “Hi.”
“Hi.” The woman said with a little tremble in his voice. She leaned on the desk.
“Um, I had a question…” he chuckled, “Um, sorry, I-I’m a little thrown. I wasn’t expecting someone…”
“Like me?” She asked.
“Oh, I was going to say ‘so incredibly beautiful’, but yeah, I guess that’d be the same thing.” Derek said sheepishly. Stiles stared at Derek’s back in disbelief. I shoved his side. He shook his head and we crawled down the hall to uncle Noah’s office.
Once inside, Stiles used a code on a keypad on the wall that opened a small hatch. It was empty inside. In the next room we heard the jingling of keys.
“Oh no…” Stiles and I ran towards the source of the noise, getting closer and closer to the cells. On our way there we were stopped short by a deputy.
“Oh, sorry,” Stiles apologized, “Just lookin’ um…” I looked over the deputy, then I saw it - an arrow sticking out of his leg. I hit Stiles' side. He looked down, then back up at the deputy.
“Ah shhh-'' We tried to run for it but he grabbed us, pressing his hands over our mouths so we couldn’t scream. I wanted to rip his hand off with my teeth but that would be putting Stiles in danger and outting myself as a werewolf to a hunter if he got away. As we were dragged back towards the cells, Stiles pulled the fire alarm.
Once in the cells, he threw Stiles and I into one of them. I clenched my fists together tightly, desperately trying not to turn. Sharp teeth poking at my lips. Stiles grabbed my arm, bringing my attention to the other cell, the empty cell. Isaac was loose. The hunter’s shout brought us back to see him being attacked by Isaac. He pinned the hunter to an examination table, then threw him against a wall. The hunter struggled but got up, trying to stab Isaac with a syringe but Isaac grabbed his arm and broke it. Isaac slammed the hunter’s head into the wall, he fell, dropping the syringe.
Derek came into the room shortly after, stepping on the syringe. The sound of glass breaking turned Isaac’s attention to us. His yellow eyes took us in, his fangs and claws sharp. He stalked forward towards us. I shoved Stiles behind me, baring my fangs at Isaac as he came closer. Derek’s roar broke Isaac out of his trance, making him fall to the floor and scramble to the corner. He looked up from the wall, looking more human. He was trembling in fear.
“How did you do that?” Stiles asked, trying to catch his break.
“I’m the alpha.” Derek smirked, his eyes red.
Ignoring the trembling the best I could, I walked over and kneeled beside Isaac. He was breathing heavily, eyes darting around the room like he was expecting someone to show up.
“Isaac.” his eyes focused on me, “Let’s get you home.” I smiled and held out my hand.

You had a lot to learn about being an angel and no one to teach you, so you focused on hunting down your memories in the weeks following the eclipse. Deaton helped look for ways to regain them, but your dad insisted on being kept in the loop as well and you were both hesitant to try anything dangerous. Stiles and the pack were always coming up with questions to ask you and tests of your abilities.
It felt good to have nothing to hide. If you got headaches or visions of the angel, you could talk about it with your dad or your friends. When you wanted to practice using your sword, Allison and her dad were more than happy to help. And Melissa kept checking in regularly to be sure your symptoms went away.
It seemed as you got better, Stiles got worse. He, Scott, and Allison were feeling the effects of their surrogate sacrifice and there was nothing you could really do to help. Each night, you would wake up at least three times to check on Stiles and see if he was still sleeping. He rarely was, and on the occasions that his eyes were closed when you passed by his door, the peace was short lived.
You’d taken to splitting your days between the station and the animal clinic. Deaton was happy for the help and you could keep both animals and their humans calm better than anyone. As October drew to a close, Mischief Night arrived. Stiles and Scott snuck into the school to set up a surprise for Coach, which you neither supported nor condemned.
Your dad told you to steer clear of the hospital for a few days, but he wasn’t allowed to tell you why. It wasn’t hard to figure that a dangerous convict needed surgery and had to be kept a secret. So you did as he asked and stayed away. Until you heard the convict was William Barrow and that he’d escaped.
You rushed down to the hospital with your dad and met up with Melissa in the hall. Your attention was partially occupied by all the flies around, but you quickly pulled your dad along to talk to her.
“These dead flies everywhere? They came out of Barrow- out of his tumor.”
“Is that even possible?” You both asked in unison with matching expressions of confusion.
“Maggots can come from the body-- it's called myiasis. But, from the stomach?” She shook her head. “It's not likely. And, there's something else... Last night, he told me why he killed those teenagers.”
You all felt the dread rising as your dad nodded.
“I read the report. Glowing eyes.”
“We know a concerning number of kids who fit that description.”
Agent McCall got everyone’s attention and you turned back to look at him.
“The stolen ambulance has been spotted. Corner of Truman and Spaulding.”
Three blocks from the school. You would have run there if your dad hadn’t rushed you to a car and driven there. The feeling in your gut was becoming more familiar; the sense that something was wrong, that danger was lurking too close for comfort and you couldn’t stop it.
As soon as you reached the school, you grabbed Stiles and filled him in on the situation. He ran through the halls behind you as more deputies followed to cover every exit.
“Wait a minute, wait a minute! The William Barrow? The Shrapnel Bomber? Spotted nearby?”
“A little closer than nearby, actually…”
Agent McCall hurried past with some of the administrators talking about the basement.
“Dad, Y/N, what’s really going on here?”
Stiles ran off to find his friends as soon as you finished explaining. You could only hope they’d all be alright. The police were already doing everything they knew how to do and you had no authority to do anything at all. You just followed your gut feelings and stayed close to your dad.
You were just on your way out when Stiles caught up to you again. You turned to face him and saw Lydia a short distance away in a doorway.
“You can’t leave yet.”
“We got an eyewitness that puts Barrow by the train station…”
McCall went by and glanced back at your dad.
“Let’s go, Stilinski!”
“Dad, please. Lydia said that he’s still here.”
“She saw him?”
“Not exactly, no.” You gave him a look to hurry it along and he sighed. “Well, not at all, actually… But she has a feeling- a supernatural feeling.”
You all looked back at her as she ran a finger over the peeling paint of the metal door.
“Lydia wasn’t on the chessboard.”
“She is now.”
“Kanima?”
“Um, banshee.”
You saw that frustrated look on your dad’s face again and Stiles tried to fix it.
“I know how it sounds, I do. But basically it means she can sense when someone’s close to death.”
“Can she sense that I’m about to kill you?”
“I don’t know…”
You ran a hand over your face. You could believe that Lydia felt something, but this wasn’t a situation for you to take any chances. Lydia waved when you all looked at her again and your dad gave a strained smile and a wave back.
“All right, look-- I'm not saying I don't believe, but right now, I'm going with "eyewitness" over "Banshee." We're leaving a few deputies here. The school's on lockdown until three o'clock. Nobody comes in, nobody comes out. That’s the best I can do.”
“Wherever he is, we’ll find him. I won’t let him hurt anyone, Sty.”
You both started to leave, but you didn’t miss Stiles’s last comment.
“You’re leaving me here? That’s not- that’s the worst.”
When you got back in the car, your dad had an apologetic look on his face.
“Why do you- Dad, what is that look for?”
“I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
“You are not leaving me out of this!”
“I don’t want you in danger-”
“I can handle it.”
He started down the road and you knew he’d probably get in a bit of trouble for taking a detour in a manhunt to drop his daughter off at home, but you still had to argue.
“Y/N. I know you’re an angel and that you’ve got this celestial sword and some bizarre holy instincts or whatever. But this guy is crazy and dangerous. I need you- please- to just go home and wait for me to come back. I’ll keep you updated.”
“I can’t just do nothing!”
“Then go to the clinic and help Deaton. Or even go see Derek. Something. But I just can’t have you in the middle of this.”
“Fine.” You slumped in your seat and frowned out the windshield. “I’ll go play with the dogs at the clinic and pretend my closest friends aren’t in danger of being blown up by an insane convict.”
“Good girl.”
You did exactly as you’d said you would. You and Deaton looked after the animals and chatted about your powers as the hours ticked by. When night fell, a sharp pain hit you and you closed your eyes for a second. You saw Kira Yukimura, a new student at the high school, and Barrow. He was going to kill her.
“Deaton, I have to go.”
“Be careful.” He could tell from the look in your eyes and the faint glow around you that you wouldn’t be stopped.
“Always.”
You ran to the electrical substation faster than you should have been able to. It felt more like you were flying. You ran inside with Scott and Stiles close behind. Barrow got to Scott first, the electricity from the exposed wire launching him back and leaving him twitching on the ground.
“Barrow, you don’t want to do this. Believe me.”
He came at you next. When the electricity hit you, it didn’t hurt. It was far from a pleasant sensation, but it was more like static electricity when Stiles rubbed his socks on the carpet and poked you in the side. You dodged out of the way of another swing and ran past him to Kira, where she was tied up on the floor. Before you could free her, Barrow brought the sparking wire to Kira and everything went white.
It was nothing like the divine light of your visits to the in-between. Everything felt hot and you could hear Barrow’s scream before he hit the floor. Scott had covered his eyes, but you were completely focused on Kira. She’d gotten to her feet and all the electricity was being… absorbed by her. She was just as shocked as you, staring down at her hands as the sparks disappeared. Everything was dark after that. Power in all of Beacon Hills had gone out.

Anyway, I’m back and super excited bc my babies are FINALLY official and they only had to almost die like three times to do it!
P.S. Lydia has terrible taste in men, Y/N still sucks at being a psychic, and the high school desperately needs more security

                                                  ————————
Have you ever had a day go so unbelievably sideways that you honestly can’t even comprehend how fucked up it is?
Yeah, welcome to my Friday.
“This is the worst! My life is literally over.”
I huffed in annoyance, my jaw dropping at the pure absurdity of that statement. “Scott, Peter tried kidnapping you this morning and you’re worried about a dance?”
He frowned from beside me, his shoulders sagging. Last night, Deaton tried making Stiles and I leave the clinic once he was all patched up, but we both refused. I still wasn’t completely convinced that he was alive until he woke up with a start this morning.
It didn’t take long for Peter to show up, demanding that we hand him over. Actually, I can’t really say we because the three of us hid in the back while Deaton somehow took care of it.
Derek was still hanging out in the Argent’s basement, probably being tortured by Kate but most likely dead by now. I tried talking to Allison when I got to school this morning, but she practically ran away from me when I brought it up. I had no idea how much she knew at this point, and it was freaking me out.
And, to top it all off, Scott was flunking so many classes that coach banned him from the dance tonight.
Clearly, that was the most pressing issue.
He was so desperate afterward that he asked Jackson to watch over Allison, since he is her date. He apparently refused because it’s Jackson, so Scott had been losing his mind with worry all day. He was convinced that Peter would be after her next, but I wasn’t so sure.
She wasn’t an obvious choice. I mean, her family is literally just a bunch of professional werewolf hunters. Adding her to his pack wouldn’t make much sense.
“I just—I can’t sit by and watch him try to kill everyone I love.” Scott forced a hand through his hair with a heavy sigh.
My steps faltered and I peered over at him, my eyebrows raised in surprise. “You love her?”
“Oh,” His eyes widened as he realized what he said. “Yeah. I do. Holy shit. I love her.”
I watched as his lips slowly pulled into a grin, relieved that he wasn’t freaking out for a moment. It’d been pretty obvious for awhile that they loved each other, and I was honestly shocked it had taken him this long to acknowledge it, but happy for him nonetheless.
“That’s it. I’m going tonight.” His face hardened with determination before he turned on his heel and walked away briskly.
“Okay. Bye to you too!” I chuckled, curious to see how he’d manage to sneak in.
I only made it a few steps before someone rammed into my side forcefully. A pair of hands gripped my arms to steady me as I nearly toppled over. My eyes narrowed as they landed on Stiles’ sheepish expression.
“Hey. Sorry.” He let me go quickly and scratched at the back of his head. “Where have you been?”
“Class..?” I drawled slowly, my eyes trailing over his twitchy frame slowly. He seemed more wired than normal, which was saying a lot.
His chest was heaving as if he’d just run a mile—which I’d recently learned he was surprisingly incapable of—and his eyes were shining with barely contained anxiety.
“I just...uh—I have a, I’ve been trying to...will you go to formal with me?” He rushed the words out so quickly, it took me a second to process them.
I just stared at him, waiting a moment to see if he was going to follow that up with anything else. “You mean the one that’s tonight? Are you serious?”
His honey eyes widened, as if he wasn’t expecting that response. I mean, what else was I supposed to say? I’d been waiting for him to ask me for almost two weeks now, and he waits until the day of? Who does that?
“Uh,” He glanced away from me quickly, his cheeks turning pink under the fluorescent lights. “Not if you’re going to say no.”
I just rolled my eyes, ignoring the way my heart began fluttering at the thought of going with him. I took a step forward so that there were only a few inches separating us and leaned up to place a gentle kiss on his cheek.
“It’s a date.” I patted his chest before walking away, an amused smirk pulling at my lips at his stunned expression.
                                                      ————————
I let my fingers trail over the frilly materials hanging in front of me as I took in my options. I was failing miserably at finding something decent to wear tonight. I wasn’t used to dressing up or being overly girly, so I had no idea where to start. I’d really just been standing here for the last several minutes, overwhelmed by all the colors and textures.
Allison was standing to my left, inspecting a few dresses in a full length mirror. Lydia was long gone somewhere behind me with a mountain of cloth in her arms. I picked up a knee-length blue dress and decided it wouldn’t hurt to try it on.
I saw someone approaching Allison out of my corner of my eye and glanced her way fleetingly, but froze as my gaze locked with Peter’s. I looked around, not fully believing that he was here, before jerking my attention back to him. He gave me a slow, amused smirk before shifting his eyes toward her. My head whipped back to the dresses in front of me, my entire body going rigid as I tried not to alarm her.
Maybe Scott had been right this afternoon. But would he really try to turn her now? In the middle of the mall?
“That’s not your color.” I heard him murmur, and stole another look their way. I didn’t want Allison to catch on that I knew him, or that anything was wrong. Very, very wrong.
Allison shifted her weight, looking uncomfortable as he stared at her intensely. “Sorry if that was intrusive but, considering your skin tone, I’d go lighter.”
“Because I’m pale?” She asked quietly, somehow not questioning the fashion advice from a strange man.
“Fair.” He corrected, his head tilting as he tried to look well-meaning. “I mean, you can’t call skin like yours pale. Not skin that perfect...”
“Okay.” She laughed awkwardly and put the dress she was considering back on the rack beside her.
“Trust me, I have a...unique perspective on the subject.” She nodded and turned to walk away with a tight smile, obviously weirded out, but he stepped to the side so she couldn’t get away. My skin crawled at the predatory gleam in his eyes as he practically sized her up.
She watched nervously as he grabbed a new dress from the rack behind him and took her hand in his. She reeled back instantly at the unwelcome touch, but that didn’t stop him from bringing her skin up beside the material for comparison. “See? Much better.”
I’d heard enough. I took the few steps needed to close the distance between us, my heart racing in my chest. I wasn’t convinced that he was stupid enough to try anything wolfy in public, but I wasn’t about to take any chances, either. I stopped at her side and grabbed her wrist gently. Her wide eyes jerked toward me, swimming with relief.
“Hey, Lydia needs help in the dressing room.” I rushed the lie out quickly, barely registering that she nodded in understanding before pulling her away.
I didn’t even spare another glance at Peter as I weaved through the narrow isles briskly, not stopping until I found Lydia clear on the other end of the store. She actually was by the dressing rooms, posing to herself in a full length mirror. I staggered to a halt at the sight of the champagne dress she had on. It was somehow...familiar?
“That was so creepy.” Allison muttered quietly as she shook my hand off and plopped down onto one of the plush chairs beside the mirrors.
I walked right up to Lydia, unable to stop myself as I continued inspecting her dress. She watched me for a moment and raised her eyebrows expectantly when my gaze rose to meet hers. My face pinched in confusion. There was a persistent nagging at the back of my mind as I looked at her, like there was something I should be picking up on. But I just couldn’t place it.
“I think that’s the one.” I jumped as Allison suddenly spoke up from behind us. I cleared my throat and took a step away from Lydia, realizing how weird I was being.
She turned away from me with one last questioning glance before giving herself a satisfied smile in the mirror, her hands smoothing down the silky material before resting on her hips.
“Me too.” She spun around excitedly and disappeared behind one of the dressing room curtains.
I couldn’t explain it, but I suddenly felt my stomach twist as a dark cloud of dread washed over me.
                                                    ————————
I looked over Stiles’ shoulder, the hardwood floors beneath my feet vibrating as loud music rang throughout the space. We were slow dancing for the second time tonight, my arms locked around his neck and my head resting against his chest. It was really nice, being this close to him. It helped lower the base level of anxiety I’d been fighting all day.
It’d been nearly an hour since I last saw any of our friends. We all met up with our respective dates at the start of the dance, Lydia having brought a random lacrosse player since Jackson was with Allison. Just then, my eyes found them dancing stiffly a few couples away, but the sight did little to calm my nerves.
He was completely wasted at this point, since he thought it was a good idea to bring a flask of vodka with him, and she was just trying to make the best of it until we all went home. It was clear that neither of them wanted to be here together, but Scott had pretty much threatened him into watching over her, and she didn’t want to be without a date.
Scott successfully snuck in through the roof—don’t ask me how—and was managing to keep an eye on them while dodging coach all night. My eyes swept over the room, seeing nothing but familiar faces, just not the one I was looking for.
Stiles suddenly pulled back and my arms loosened from around his neck. His eyes rounded as they flickered around my face with concern. “You okay?”
I glanced over his shoulder again, feeling uncomfortable under his intense gaze. I didn’t want to lie to him, but I also didn’t know how to explain the uneasy feeling I’d had since we got here. My dancing faltered as I noticed that Jackson and Allison were gone.
“Have you seen Lydia recently?” I asked absently, my eyes still sweeping around the gym quickly.
I took a step away from Stiles and turned all the way around, my chest tightening with anxiety. For some reason, I felt like I needed to find her. Right now. Or something terrible was going to happen. My anxiety was quickly rising to panic when I didn’t see her anywhere.
“Y/N?” Stiles put a hand on my shoulder and I glanced back to see him watching me closely, his brows pinched in confusion.
“I have to...” My skin was crawling with the intense need to get out of here. Something was wrong. I could just feel it. I leaned forward to place a quick kiss on his cheek, already feeling guilty for what I was about to do. “I’m sorry. I’ll be right back.”
I started jogging away before he could try and stop me. My legs had a mind of their own as I stumbled through the dense crowd toward the exit. I braced my hands against the gym doors and pushed my way through, stopping for a moment as they fluttered closed behind me to consider where she could be. I huffed, feeling an urgency deep inside me that was only growing with each passing moment.
I turned on my heel to keep moving, and slammed right into a hard chest. I reeled back, ready to brush past whoever it was, but stopped when I saw that it was Jackson. His chest was heaving, as if he’d been running, and his eyes were wide with fear.
“Jackson?” I asked tentatively, the look he was giving me only increasing my unease.
He stammered silently for a few seconds, his mouth opening and closing repeatedly. His eyes fluttered as they glanced away from me apprehensively. He was acting like he’d just seen a ghost, or maybe something worse.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” I pressed, taking a step toward him.
He gulped and let out a shuddering sigh. “I-I was out behind the school and...and I was...”
“What? What did you do?” My voice hardened with frustration as I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously. He had definitely been up to something, if his guilt-ridden expression was any indication. I momentarily forgot what I was supposed to be doing as my curiosity peaked.
“I-I told...Allison’s dad, he was...”
My heart skipped a beat with panic at his words. Mr. Argent was behind the school? Why would he...
Oh shit.
Oh my God.
Without even sparing him another glance, I rushed past him and straight down the hall. Within seconds I was outside, the freezing night air causing my skin to rise with goosebumps instantly. My head whipped from side to side as I tried to figure out which way to go. On instinct, I starting running toward the lacrosse field.
My heart was hammering painfully in my chest as I sprinted as fast as humanly possible. I was suddenly very glad that I’d chosen to wear ballet flats tonight, instead of the heels Lydia had tried forcing me to buy. I let my intuition guide me as I kept going until I reached the edge of the field.
I staggered to a stop, my eyes widening at the sight of Lydia standing at the other end. Her back was to me as she walked around slowly, looking lost. I opened my mouth to call her name, feeling my chest loosen just slightly at the fact that she was okay.
I froze, my whole body growing rigid with fear as Peter suddenly emerged from the tree line just outside the field. His figure was mostly cloaked by the bright stadium lights as he approached her, and it didn’t seem like she’d seen him yet.
“Lydia!” I screamed, finally finding my voice through the panic coursing through me. I started running in her direction again, having no plan but just needing to be there with her.
She whipped around at the sound of her name, but made no move to get away. There was nothing I could do but watch in horror as Peter stalked toward her and opened his mouth wide, his eyes flashing bright red. She didn’t react nearly fast enough.
By the time I reached them, she was laying in a crumpled heap on the turf, blood splattered across her dress. All the air rushed from my lungs as a heavy sense of déjà vu washed over me.
Of course, how could I be so stupid? It was the vision I’d seen when Derek helped me, finally playing out in real life.
I let out a trembling breath, my chest feeling like it would collapse any second from the intense pressure. My mind went blank as Peter kneeled over her body, blood dripping down his face. His eyes, still red, slowly swept up to meet mine.
“Well, they don’t usually run toward me, but I’ll take it.” He muttered lowly, an amused smirk twitching at his lips.
My eyes were still locked onto Lydia’s unconscious frame beneath him. Her new dress was ripped, the red stain at her hip growing alarmingly fast. My heart clenched painfully and tumbled down into my stomach at the sight.
I was too late.
Peter took his time standing to his full height. I could feel his intense gaze on me, watching me closely, but I couldn’t look away from Lydia. She was so...broken. A wave of nausea washed over me and I forced my eyes to meet his.
My vision blurred as I tried desperately to catch my breath. “Is she dead?”
My voice was barely above a hoarse whisper, my entire body trembling. It was from the overwhelming terror being this close to Peter initiated, but I wasn’t just scared. I was angry. I knew something was going to happen all day, and I ignored my instincts. I saw this very thing happen weeks ago, but did nothing. And now, Lydia might be dead. Because of me.
Peter hummed low in his throat, his eyes scanning me from head to toe before glancing down at her fleetingly. “Not at the moment.”
A few tears escaped down my cheeks as I tore my gaze away from him to look at her again. I wasn’t even sure if she was breathing. If she was still alive, it was just barely.
My panic only rose as I thought about how unlikely it was that I’d get out of this situation in time to bring her to a hospital. Her chances of survival were dropping by the second. And mine too, probably.
“Tell me, Y/N, what do you see in my future?” Peter look a slow step toward me, and I stumbled back to keep some distance between us.
My eyes jerked up to his as I stiffened, a shiver wracking my body as I became more aware of the freezing temperature. “How do you know about that?”
The earth crunched beneath his shoes as he stalked toward me. I stood impossibly still, knowing I wouldn’t be able to escape him. He didn’t stop until he loomed only inches away.
“How does anyone know anything?” He murmured hoarsely into my ear, and I recoiled back, my stomach clenching painfully in disgust. My eyes pinched shut as one of his hands came up to brush a stray lock of hair away from my face. “You, my dear, would make a fantastic beta.”
My eyes jerked open again and I took a miniscule step away from him, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. “Trust me, I wouldn’t. I’ve been told I can be really annoying. I wouldn’t make a good beta. Or a good anything, really. I’m hardly a psychic. You should just keep searching because, you know, whatever it is you’re looking for...isn’t me.”
“Oh, I think I’m willing to take my chances.” Time seemed to slow as his eyes flashed bright red, his mouth opening wide to show his razor sharp canines.
I whipped around, ready to at least attempt running for my life, but instantly froze at the sight of Stiles barreling toward us.
“No!” I shouted frantically, my heart leaping into my throat with panic.
A strong arm wrapped around my stomach and wrenched me backward. I slammed against Peter’s chest, hard. The air was knocked out of my lungs from the force, just as a clawed hand snaked around my throat.
Stiles lurched to a stop in front of us, his dress shoes slipping on the damp turf. He flailed to the ground before popping back up instantly, his eyes wide with horror as they glanced down at Lydia before landing on me.
“Don’t kill her. Please.” His voice was trembling with desperation as he held a hand out toward us hesitantly.
The tips of Peter’s claws dug into my skin and I winced, tears now running freely down my face. I was terrified. For myself, Lydia, and now Stiles. Peter had killed many times before, and there was literally nothing stopping him now. Stiles’ eyes flickered to my neck, his jaw clenching tightly.
“Of course not. Just tell me how to find Derek.” Peter drawled, as if he wasn’t currently poised to do the opposite.
“W-what?” Stiles stammered, seemingly surprised by that request. His gaze was still firmly planted on Peter’s hand.
I felt a sharp stabbing at the base of my throat and my lips parted as a shuddering gasp escaped me. He was surely drawing blood at this point. Stiles’ eyes widened with alarm at the sight and his hand jerked toward us as if he were itching to intervene.
“Tell me how to find Derek Hale.” Peter leaned down, his warm breath fanning my shoulder. I tried jerking my head away, my heart lurching in my chest at his close proximity, but didn’t get far with his tight hold around me.
“I don’t know that! How would I know that?” Stiles’ voice rose to a frantic shout, his chest heaving as his glistening eyes finally moved up to Peter.
“You’re the clever one, aren’t you? And because deception has a very particularly accurate scent, Stiles. Tell me the truth. Or I will rip her apart.”
As if to prove the validity behind his words, his hand tightened around my throat. I instantly started pulling at his fingers as I felt my airway closing. My lips parted in a silent gasp, my lungs spasming painfully as I tried to force a breath in.
“Look. I don’t know! Okay?” Stiles rushed the words out in a complete panic, his eyes darting between Peter and my neck. Tiny black spots dotted my vision as I felt myself growing faint. “I swear—I swear to God I have no idea!”
Peter hummed low in his throat, his chest vibrating against my back. “Wrong again.”
Everything that happened next must’ve taken place in only a few seconds, but they seemed to drag on and on. Peter’s head jerked down to my left shoulder, his teeth digging into my skin easily. A scream tore through my throat as he finally released it, my vision blurring as unbearable pain rippled along my upper body.
Stiles face crumbled in utter horror and he lunged toward me just as Peter’s arms disappeared. I tried gasping for breath as I sagged to the ground, but my body just wasn’t cooperating. It felt like Stiles caught me, but I couldn’t be sure as I lost all feeling in my limbs.
Then, everything went black.
                                                    ————————
I stirred, already wincing in pain as I slowly regained consciousness. A high pitched droning was the only sound in my otherwise quiet surroundings. My eyes fluttered open and instantly squinted against the harsh fluorescent lights above me.
Everything felt heavy. I sluggishly started turning my head away from the lights, but jerked to a stop as searing pain radiated from my shoulder. My face fell into a grimace as a pitiful groan escaped my lips.
Something shuffled at the foot of my bed and I froze. My heart jumped in my chest with panic. Memories of Peter came flooding back all at once, and I started trembling with fear at the unknown presence.
Stiles jerked upright, appearing at my side a split second later. I let out a small sigh of relief, wincing as my lungs angrily protested each breath I took. My body began relaxing as I realized I was safe.
“Oh my God! Y/N!” He practically yelled in my face as he leaned down over me. “Are you okay? Wait, that’s a stupid question. How are you feeling? Does it hurt?”
One of his hands disappeared beneath the thin mesh blanket covering my body and he pulled out a hallow cord with a small switch in the middle. “If it hurts you can push this button as much as you want and I won’t tell. You’ll be higher than a kite, but—”
“Stiles.” My voice was barely above a hoarse whisper as I interrupted his frantic rambling. “I feel okay. Just tired.”
Truthfully, I hadn’t been awake long enough to know how I felt. I’d gathered that I was in the hospital, but obviously didn’t know much else. My entire left side hurt like hell.
My eyes trailed over Stiles quickly, noting that he was still wearing his clothes from the dance. His white button up was stained with blood and dirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His black jacket had been discarded on a table by the door.
Maybe it hadn’t been long, then?
“Seriously?” He sagged down into the chair that sat beside my bed, his eyes widening in surprise. “You were asleep for almost thirty hours.”
“I was what?” I planted my hands on either side of my hips and pushed myself up, ignoring the pain that ripped through my shoulder at the movement.
How the hell had I been out that long? That meant it was already Sunday, although probably somewhere around midnight. Too many panicked thoughts invaded my mind at once to make sense out of any one of them.
Stiles bolted back to his feet and pushed me against the bed with a disapproving glare. “It was actually twenty eight hours, forty seven minutes, and sixteen seconds, if that makes you feel better.”
“You know what, somehow it does.” I huffed sarcastically with a roll of my eyes, wiggling around on the hard mattress in an effort to get comfortable again.
Stiles twitched his eyes at me while he sat back down apprehensively, as if not trusting me to stay put. He brought a hand up to rub at the back of his neck as he glanced down to my injured shoulder. “I’m so sorry, Y/N...”
“For what?” My brows furrowed in confusion. I really had no idea why he would be apologizing. There was definitely a list of people that should feel bad right now, but he wasn’t one of them.
“I should’ve listened. If I’d just told him what he wanted...” He let out a heavy sigh and rested his elbows onto his knees before dropping his head into his hands.
I reached out and took one of his hands in mine, rubbing my fingers across his skin soothingly as he looked up at me cautiously. He had no reason to blame himself. Peter had already proven time and time again that he’s literally insane, and I’d made the stupid decision to run toward him mid-attack. I had a feeling he would’ve bitten me either way, regardless of anything Stiles did.
“It’s not your fault.” His lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes glistening with a slew of intense emotions.
I didn’t even have time to start deciphering them before he sat forward in his chair, his face hardening with determination. “I should’ve brought this up before I had to watch you almost die, but...you’re not—you know, how you are with me...with any other guys, right?”
His voice was timid as he struggled to stutter out the words. My heart swelled in my chest as my lips pulled up into a small smile. That was the most adorable, perfect, Stiles way of phrasing that question. For a moment, I forgot about all my worries.
“Stilinski, are you asking me to be your girlfriend?”
His eyes twitched as he squeezed his fingers around mine minutely. “Only if you’re gonna say yes.”
I didn’t even have to think about it for a second.
“Of course I’m saying yes, you dork.” I let out a breathy giggle as a big grin took over his face.
His caramel eyes shined with happiness as he brought my hand against his mouth to place a gentle kiss on my fingers. It was about damn time we had that conversation. I honestly shouldn’t be surprised that it took us this long to make things official, considering how stubborn we both are. Regardless, it felt amazing to finally be able to call him my boyfriend.
My boyfriend, Stiles. It had a nice ring to it.
I only let myself relish the moment for a few more seconds before finally asking about the one thing I’d been dreading thinking about since waking up.
“How’s Lydia? Is she...?” I trailed off, not able to say the word out loud.
When I’d seen her last, she was only moments away from death. I was sure of it. If I’d been here this long from a bite to the shoulder, I couldn’t imagine the damage that had been done to her. My heart clenched with regret as I thought back to all the moments I could’ve done something differently that would’ve saved her.
Stiles winced beside me, hesitating for a long moment before answering in a quiet mumble. “She’s uh...missing.”
“Excuse me?” I instantly tried bolting upright at his words, my anxiety skyrocketing. Missing? How could she be missing?
He guided me back down gently with a hand on my uninjured shoulder, his eyes narrowing again in warning. “Yeah. She just kinda disappeared from her room this morning.”
It was like he could sense that I was about to try getting up again, as he peered down at me sternly and pressed his hand down more firmly. “My dad already has the entire department out searching. There’s nothing you can do.”
My mind was racing with anxious, jumbled thoughts. She could’ve been taken if no one was sitting by her bedside like Stiles had clearly done for me. Or, she could’ve run away. But why would she do that? She was in the hospital. Where she was safe and getting treatment. I guess, there was always a chance that she’d taken to the bite and shifted already...
I didn’t know what any of this meant for me. I could only assume at this point that I wasn’t a werewolf. I mean, my shoulder clearly hadn’t miraculously healed yet. I figured, if I were, it would’ve done so by now. I was just incredibly glad—and lucky—to be alive.
My eyes met Stiles’ as he leaned back in his chair and inspected me closely. He kept glancing toward the place where Peter had bitten me as he drummed his fingers against his lips. It was like he couldn’t tear his gaze away.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” I breathed, suddenly nervous. His anxious expression couldn’t mean anything good.
“There’s something I keep—something Derek said awhile ago that I can’t get out of my head.” He mumbled, his eyebrows furrowing in apprehension.
I looked at him expectantly, urging him to continue. He was seriously starting to freak me out.
“The bite—he said it either kills you...and I think we’re good on that one...”
I glowered at his poorly timed sarcasm as his eyes continued flickering between my own and my shoulder. He swallowed thickly, and I could practically see his heart racing as he let out a ragged sigh. He finally caught my gaze, twitching uncomfortably in his seat.
“Or it changes you.”
Well, shit.

“Dad? No!” you fell to your knees, your hands shaking as you pulled out the glass shard from his chest. You could see the blood spilling out as you put your hands on it, putting pressure to stop the blood.
“S-Say something,” you said shakily, pressing onto his wound.
His eyes were closed, you could see more and more blood spilling.
“Oh, god! Dad, please, please don’t die,” you cried as his body laid in front of you.
You could tell he was already gone, his body was limp as he laid in front of you. He wasn't breathing.
“(Y/N), what's going on… holy shit!” Isaac stood in front of you, looking down in shock.
Your eyes were red as you looked up at him, drenched in your dad’s blood.
“I-I killed him,” you stuttered, gasping for air.
“What happened?” Isaac ran to you.
“I-I….” you could feel your head pounding as you wheezed, trying to breathe.
“I-I need to…. his body,” you cried.
“Shit! O-Okay, this is what we're gonna do. I-I’ll get rid of his body. Y-You need to clean up the blood a-and the glass and anything that shows he was here,” Isaac said, sitting next to you.
“I killed him, Isaac! I-I killed…” you sobbed loudly, as you looked at your hands, covered in blood.
“(Y/N)! You need to get it together. We need to do this now! What if someone heard you? What if someone comes? We need to do this now,” Isaac yelled. standing up.
“I-Isaac, I-I killed him,” you cried.
“(Y/N),” he grabbed your arm, pulling you up roughly.
“We need to do this now. Go!” he yelled as you nodded your head, running to your bathroom, gathering cleaning supplies.
---
You held your head in your hands, shaking as you took deep breaths, remembering the event from the previous night.
Isaac disappeared, you hadn't seen him since then. He must've spent the night someplace else.
Flashes of images. Blood on your hands and clothes. Blood spilled on your floor. A body. A dead body. Your father’s body.
You felt shivers go down your spine as you gripped your head, rocking slightly.
You couldn't hear the noise of someone knocking on your door, too preoccupied with your thoughts.
“(Y/N),” you jumped as Cora walked to you, putting a hand on your shoulder.
“What happened? What's wrong?” she asked.
You wiped your face, standing up.
“N-Nothing’s wrong,” you shook your head.
She looked at you, raising an eyebrow. She always knew when you were lying.
“What happened?” she asked again.
“Nothing happened,” you said again.
“Just tell me,” she said.
“D-Don’t worry about it,” you replied softly.
“(Y/N)...” she started.
“What are you doing here?” you tried to change the topic.
She gave you a look, before sighing.
“I’m going to Beacon Hills, I need Isaac and Boyd,” Cora explained.
“Why?” you asked.
“The alpha pack is coming after Derek tonight. He needs help, even if he won’t admit it,” you bit your lip softly, taking a deep breath.
“Oh,” you replied.
“Okay, seriously? What’s going on?” Cora asked.
“Why do you think something's going on?” you asked softly.
“Because I know you,” she shrugged.
“Please, Cora, I’m fine. Just stop asking me,” you rubbed your head.
“If you’re fine, then spend the day with me. We’re going to Beacon Hills,” Cora shrugged.
“I-I can’t. I have to go to my actual school,” you replied.
“Now that's a lie. You don't care about college. Just drop out already,” she said.
“I do care, I want to do something in my life, not be a 20-year-old who runs after teenagers who don't know how to do anything in life,” you said.
Cora laughed loudly, leaning onto you.
“That is what he does. Oh, come on, (Y/N), please?” she begged.
“I can’t even get into the school, I’m not a student anymore,” you said.
“They have no security at the school. Come on,” she linked arms with you, pulling you with her.
The real reason was that you didn’t want to see Isaac. Not after last night. He was very clearly trying to keep his distance, as well as you.
“What happened to that glass vase thingy?” Cora asked, you could feel your heart racing.
“It broke,” you said softly.
“Okay, then. Come on, let's go,” she kept pulling
you until you agreed to go.
---
“Cora? What are you doing here?” you heard Isaac say, calling from behind the two of you.
You turned around, as his eyes went wide, looking at you. You bit your lip, looking down.
Cora eyed the two of you.
“I need you to go to Derek. You and Boyd. The alpha pack is going to go after him and he needs help,” Cora said.
“Yeah, of course. Uhm, we’ll go now,” he said, nodding softly as he took a step back.
Don't do it, (Y/N)
You found yourself running to Isaac, pulling him aside.
“Are you okay?” you asked.
“I’m okay. Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yeah,” you nodded.
“Just… be careful,” he said softly.
You hugged him softly, as he rested his chin on your head.
“Crap, I have to go now. I’ll see you,” he waved at you, walking away.
“What happened? You have to tell me,” Cora said.
“Let’s go,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“Did you see that?” Cora said, looking behind you.
“What was it?” you asked, turning around to see an empty hallway.
“Oh hell no,” she ran to the fire alarm, pulling it.
“Cora, what the hell-” she held your hand, pulling you outside of Coach’s office.
Aiden ran out of the office as you raised an eyebrow, eyes dropping as you saw Lydia standing in front of you.
Your jaw dropped as you stared at her.
“What are you two doing here?!” she exclaimed.
“Next time I catch the two of you together, I won't just pull the fire alarm,” Cora threatened.
You stood quietly, watching the two of them talking while your mind drifted away.
Not now
You turned your back to them, rubbing your fingers through your hair.
“(Y/N),” Cora called.
“I gotta go to the bathroom,” you wiped your eyes as you made your way through the hallway, going to the bathroom.
---
You could see your hands shaking, your teeth chattering as you leaned on the sink, closing your eyes.
You heard the door creak, as your head shot up, looking around.
You immediately recognized the sound of a walking cane tapping the tiles.
You turned around, clenching your jaw as you watched Deucalion walk into the bathroom.
You stepped back, away from him.
“I’m not here to hurt you, (Y/N),” he said.
“Get away from me,” you spat.
“How did it feel?” he asked you.
“What are you talking about?” you paused, looking at him cautiously.
“Killing him,” he replied.
You felt your spine shiver as your heart began to race.
“I-I… I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you stuttered.
“It must've felt amazing. Killing him. He tried to kill you twice, didn’t he?” Deucalion stepped closer to you, while you felt your back hit the wall.
You remained quiet, taking a deep breath as you looked down.
“You watched him bleed out. You watched him suffering. It made you feel good,” he said.
“What do you want?” you spat.
“I want to help you,” he said.
“I don't need your help. You almost killed…” you started.
“Derek doesn't care about you anymore. He made that clear. Look at your eyes, (Y/N). You’ll need my help,” he lowered his glasses, his eyes flashing red before he walked away from you.
You exhaled sharply, leaning against the sink as you looked at your eyes in the mirror. You gasped softly, looking at your eyes, which were pitch-black.
You shit your eyes tightly, taking a deep breath as you get your heart stop. You whimpered softly, opening your eyes slowly, as they reverted to their normal color.
“(Y/N),” you jumped as Cora stood by the door, crossing her arms.
“Y-Yeah,” you turned to her.
“What is up with you? Something clearly happened,” Cora crossed her arms, giving you a look.
“Nothing happened. What is it?” you wiped your face, walking to her.
“The vet was taken. Stiles thinks Lydia can help,” Cora explained, giving you a look.
“Well then let’s go,” your voice was barely above a whisper as you walked past her, walking away.
---
“Hey, is it too much to ask you guys to get off your phones?! We need help here!” Stiles exclaimed grumpily while you put your phone down, getting a look from Cora.
“What are we doing?” you asked.
“We’re trying to get Lydia to tell us where Deaton is,” you raised an eyebrow as Stiles put a ouija board in front of the four of you.
“Stiles, her powers don’t work like that,” you started.
“Shhh, c’mon it's worth a try,” you sighed, rubbing your head before placing your hands on the board.
“Where is Deaton?” Stiles asked aloud.
The three of you looked at Lydia, who raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, me?” she said.
“Yes, you,” Stiles replied.
You turned your head to Cora, who continued to give you a look.
You knew you had to tell her eventually, but you couldn't bring yourself to say the words.
“Okay, how about a break, and then we come back, yeah? (Y/N),” Cora grabbed your arm, pulling you out the door before you had a chance to reply.
You heard Stiles’ frustrated groans as the two of you left.
“Cora,” you started.
“I know we haven't seen each other for a long time. But you’re still my best friend and I still care about you. I'm here for you, (Y/N),” she started.
You could feel your body getting warmer as you rubbed your neck.
“I know that, but,” you tried to speak.
“So do you just not trust me anymore? Is that it?” she asked softly.
You wiped your face nervously, rubbing your fingers through your hair.
“I trust you, Cora. O-Of course I trust you. B-But this is….” your voice broke as you took a deep breath.
“(Y/N), there’s nothing that can happen, that you can do, that will change anything between us,” she held your hand softly as you sniffled.
“I-I….” you stopped as your voice broke, unable to say the words.
“(Y/N),” she said softly.
“I killed… I killed someone,” you saw her entire body tense up as her hand dropped from yours.
“I-I didn’t mean to. I-I lost control… and,” you stuttered as tears fell from your face.
“Okay, hey, it’s okay,” Cora wrapped her arms around you tightly.
“I’m a terrible person, I-I…” you held your cries in as you held onto her.
“It’s not… It’s okay. We’ll figure this out,” she cooed softly.
“Isaac got rid of his body and that’s why I-I didn't tell you. I-I lost control and I-I killed him and I didn't mean to, I was just so mad and…” you continued crying while Cora wrapped her arms around you.
“It's okay, I understand,” she said softly, holding onto you.
---
You, Stiles, Lydia, and Cora made your way to the loft. After the day’s unsuccessfulness with trying to help figure out where Deaton was, Scott and Allison found a way to find him. For whatever reason, they all lied to you about what it was, and Cora said she’d tell you later.
Isaac texted you, saying they needed help. Kali and the other alphas somehow figured out Boyd’s plan of stopping Kali from killing Derek.
“What do we have to do?” Stiles whispered as the four of you made your way to the electric room.
“When Isaac texts me, start flipping all these switches. It’ll get the power back on, and shock Kali,” you explained.
You waited for a minute, before hearing your phone buzz. Isaac texted you.
“Now,” the four of you quickly flipped on the switches.
“Now what?” Cora asked.
“Let’s go,” you motioned up, as the four of you ran to the loft.
---
You and Cora ran in first, pushing Ethan and Aiden into the water, as Isaac ran, holding Jennifer back.
You looked down at her, as she gave you a look.
You took a deep breath, turning away from her.
“I-It’s off,” Cora gasped.
“What do you mean?” you exclaimed.
“Power. Look,” she said.
You saw as Ethan and Aiden wrapped their arms around Boyd, holding him up.
“W-What are they doing to him?” you said nervously.
Kali held Derek’s hands up, his claws coming out of his fingers, as he tried to fight her grip.
You gasped loudly, as tears instantly came to your eyes, watching as Derek’s class went into Boyd’s chest.
“N-No,” you pulled Cora’s arm, holding her back as she tried to run to him.
You watched as Kali, Ethan and Aiden walked past all of you, leaving Derek’s loft. Kali looked at you, winking before walking out. Cora pushed away from you, running to Boyd’s body as she cried. Your eyes were red as you looked at Derek, tears falling from his eyes. Boyd laid on the floor, lifeless while Cora held him.
“Boyd…” you looked at Isaac, who wrapped his arms around you tightly, burying his face.
You felt your tears fall freely, as you held onto Isaac tightly.
---
“Why does everyone around me keep dying?” you stroked Isaac's hair softly as he laid in your lap, on your bed.
“My mom’s dead, my brother's dead. My dad’s dead, and now Boyd too. D-Derek…. you’re the only person I have, (Y/N),” he shifted his position, laying down next to you.
“It’s gonna be okay, Isaac,” you said softly.
“I-It’s not. I-I’m scared to have people around me now. I can’t keep…” you wiped his tears softly, looking at him.
“You’re always going to have me,” you whispered.
More tears rushed to his eyes as you wrapped your arms around him tightly, while he buried his face in your chest, holding onto you.

"Get everything done last night?" Stiles takes his seat behind Julia in class.
"Yeah, I did. Then I went to bed." She lies to him.
"So your night went better than mine. My friend disappeared on me last night during her birthday party." He tells her.
"Have you heard from her yet?" She asks so he shakes his head no as coach starts class.
"The stock market is based on two principles. What are they?" Scott raises his had no coach says he can go to the bathroom.
"Uh, no. Coach, I know the answer." Scott makes him laugh.
"Oh, you're serious?"
"Yeah, it's risk and reward." Scott answers him.
"Wow, who are you and what have you done to McCall? Don't answer that. I like you better. I like you better. Does anybody have a quarter? A quarter?" Coach asks so Stiles pulls out one but the condom he took last night falls out.
Julia looks down at the floor shocked but tries to hold her laughter as coach congratulates him. Julia looks back at him, "Was that part of your bad night or?" She eyes him before turning back around spacing out drawing in her book.
"Martin, Risk or Reward? Or don't play?" Coach brings her back.
"Why not." She gets up taking the quarter and makes it making him applaud her as she goes back to drawing.
After school Scott, Stiles, Julia, Derek, and Isaac go to Deaton in hope he can help Isaac remember things.
"Why aren't you helping pour the ice?" Stiles asks Julia as she stood to the side with her arms crossed watching him, Scott, and Derek.
"The bags are cold and I don't want to touch them."
"Isaac is literally getting in the ice bath and you don't want to touch a bag because it's cold?" Stiles crosses his arms.
"Yeah. That's Isaac not me." She smiles as he grabs another ice bag. "How slow does his heart rate have to be?" She asks Deaton.
"Very slow."
"Yeah, well, how slow is very slow?" Derek asks him.
"Nearly dead."
"It's safe though?" Isaac touches the ice cold water.
"Do you want me to answer honestly?"
"No. No, not really." Isaac whispers but Stiles playing with rubber gloves makes everyone look at him.
"What?" He looks at them confused.
"Take that off." Julia walks over taking it off him.
"Julia," Isaac takes his shirt off tossing it to her to hold so she catches it.
"There's a table right there but okay..." She mumbles as she watches.
When the three have trouble holding Isaac down, Julia backs away as water splashes.
"Remember, only I talk to him. Too many voices may confuse him and draw him out. I want you to remember it for me. In vivid detail as much as possible. Like you're actually there again" Deaton tells Isaac making him start to move around.
"I-I don't wanna do that. I don't- I don't wanna do that." He repeats making the guys hold him down a little again.
Isaac jolts up in the ice bath, "I saw it! I saw the name!" He repeats as the guys help him out and Julia quickly wrap the towel around him. "It's um, Beacon Hills first National Bank. It's um, abandoned bank. And, and and they're keeping them locked inside, inside the vault." He was freezing so Julia wraps her arms around him. "What?" Isaac asks confused as everyone was quiet.
"You don't remember what you said right before you come out of it, do you?" Julia says so he looks at her saying no.
"Or how you said when they captured you that they dragged you into a room and that there was a body in it?"
"What body?"
"Erica, you said it was Erica." Stiles tells him.
Derek says it's not Erica because then who was with Boyd. Then saying how he has to break in so Julia watched Stiles look up about a guy who has broke in in the past.
"How long?" Derek asks.
"It's the internet, Derek. Okay, minutes." Stiles chuckles just for him, Scott, and Julia to spend all night researching.
"Julia, you're falling asleep." Scott says exhausted waking her up some.
"Huh, no. I'm reading." She brings the paper closer to her face closing her eyes as she cuddles one of Stiles' pillows.
"She's not reading is she?" Stiles says as his eyelids were heavy.
"Nope, she went straight back to sleep." Scott closes his eyes for a few seconds.
"I can still hear you idiots." Julia mumbles, slapping Stiles' leg next to her before falling back to sleep.
-
Noah walks into Stiles' room to tell them to get to school but the three were still passed out asleep. "Guys. Hey, time to wake up. Guys! Guys!" Noah raises his voice and the boys wake up but not Julia. "I got to get to work. You three, get to school." Noah walks off but Stiles asks about Heather and gets nothing.
"Ten hours and nothing."
"We're gonna find something." Scott tells him.
"Finding something doesn't make Erica any less dead. Or Boyd any less about to be dead."
"Well, we still have time." Scott adds.
"Is this whole, like, remain optimistic in the face of complete and utter disaster thing a part of the be a better Scott McCall program?" Stiles asks him.
"Uh, not if it doesn't works."
"No, it works. Julia, it's time to get up." Stiles goes over waking her up.
"Look." She hands him the paper she held all night making him rush after his dad.
"Huh?" Scott asks.
"His dad arrested the guy." Julia sits up pulling off her shirt so she was in her tank top. "What?" She laughs at him going over to Stiles clothes taking a flannel to put on. "I'm not going to school being seen wearing the same thing I did yesterday."
"But who pays attention to you to realize?" Scott jokes with her which earns him a glare.
"For one Lydia would." She walks over slapping him playfully so they play around laughing.
"You know I never mentioned it yesterday but you had Isaac's scent all over you." Scott leans down to whisper into her ear as he held her arms down from hitting him.
"Why were you taking in my scent?" She turns her head to the side then looks back at him.
"Hey, your vanilla cupcake is nice to take in and I mostly got Isaac. Wanna explain?" He lets go of her so she turns to face him.
"That's not any of your business... is it?" She smiles leaving the room passing Stiles.
"That's my shirt..." He turns to watch her walk downstairs.
"Said she's not going to school being seen wearing the same thing she did yesterday." Scott explains to her so Stiles changes for school.
At school during English, Scott kept looking over at Julia, who sat in front of Stiles, wondering about her and Isaac. He didn't even know they were even a little bit close.
"Dude, you're gonna burn holes into the back of her head." Stiles notices as Julia was zoned in on reading. "Why are you staring at her?"
"Huh? She's keeping a secret. And I want to know more." He says as the bell rings.
"A secret?" Stiles walks with him as Julia went to her next class without them.
"Yeah."
"Wanna give me some context or?" Stiles waits for more.
"Her and Isaac." Scott looks at his best friend.
"Julia and Isaac? Ha! No." Stiles shakes his head not seeing it.
"Yesterday I could smell him all over her." Scott sees the look in Stiles' eyes, "I asked her about it this morning and she said it's not my business." Stiles takes off heading towards her class confusing Scott, "Dude, where are you going?"
Stiles sees Julia sitting in the back corner so he rushes over to her making Scott rush to grab him, "So you-," Scott covers Stiles' mouth.
"Sorry." Scott drags him out.
"Don't bring it up. So obvious. Hint towards it. Catch her slip." Scott tells him as they head to their class.
For the rest of the day, Julia was confused on how the boys were acting and even when they got to Derek's place. Stiles goes over the plans while Julia just sat and watched them.
"You gonna punch through the wall?" Stiles asks Derek.
"Yes, Stiles, I'm gonna punch through the wall."
"Okay, big guy let's see that fist. Big, old fist. Make it. Come on. Get it out there. Don't be scared. Big bad wolf. Yeah, look at that. Okay, see this? That's maybe 3 inches of room to gather enough force to punch though solid co-," Derek punches Stiles' hand. "Ah! Ah! He can do it." Stiles whimpers out in pain walking off so Julia goes after him.
"Don't push him next time." She passes him to get ice to put on his hand for a bit.
"Could someone kill him again, please?" Stiles talks about Peter as Julia give him the ice. "Oh, thank you."
"Seriously, Derek. It's not worth the risk." Peter tells him.
"What about you?" Derek asks.
"Yeah, if you want me to come-," Stiles starts.
"Not you."
"Got it." Stiles points at Scott.
"I don't know about Erica. But if Boyd's still alive. We have to do something. We have to try. But? Who's the other girl? The one locked in there with Boyd?" Scott says.
When Scott and Derek leave Stiles walks around while Peter and Julia sat around. "Where's Isaac?" Stiles asks Peter looking over at Julia to see if she reacts to his name.
"I don't know. I don't pay attention to him." Peter answers while Julia sat on Derek's bed messing with her fingers.
"Julia, do you know?" Stiles asks making her look over at him.
"Nope." She shakes her head not really caring where he was before going outside to look out at at the view while Stiles and Peter realize why the alpha pack kept Boyd and the girl in the vault.
"Hey, we have a problem." Stiles goes outside to tell Julia so he catches her up on what's happening.
They head to his jeep to go help but while they were driving Julia let's out an unconsciously scream causing Stiles to slam on his breaks pulling over.
"You said that means someone died, right?" He asks her.
"Go straight." Julia tells him directions as she closes her eyes following a instinct.
As they were driving Julia's phone goes off so Stiles answers it for her as she still tells him where to go. "Hello?"
"Stiles?" Lydia says confused.
"Yeah, um Julia is busy giving me directions. What did you need?"
"There's a dead guy at the pool. I just found him." She tells him.
"Okay, I think that's where she's telling me to go. We'll be there." He hangs up. "Lydia found the body." Stiles lets Julia know.
"Well, hurry up."
When they get to the pool they rush to Lydia and Stiles says he'll call his dad. "I already called 911."
"You called the police before you called us?"
"I'm supposed to call you first when I find a dead body?" Lydia asks him.
"Yes!" Stiles shouts so he calls Scott while Julia gets closer to the dead guy.
"Julia!" Stiles pulls her back.
"I'm just looking. I don't think Boyd or Derek's sister did this. Look, at it closer. That's not from claws." She tells him.
"I just want to go home." Lydia tells the two so they head out once the police show up.
Stiles ended up following the two home then going into the house with them up to Lydia's room. "Stiles? Why did you follow us inside?" Julia looks up at him.
"Oh, yeah. Umm..." He turns to leave.
"Are neither of you really going to ask me how I knew to go there finding him." Lydia looks at them. "Because I don't know how I did. I didn't know where I was until I got out of the car." She tells them.
"Let me guess. Before you left you screamed?" Julia asks her. "Told you. She's the same." Julia looks at Stiles.
"Same?" Lydia asks confused.
"I'll leave you to talk. I'm gonna go." Stiles leaves them alone.
"We are called a Banshee. We have the supernatural power to sense and predict when someone is about to die. I still don't really know the ways but since my accident when we were younger I found out through research. Our power got activated by our bites. So I officially welcomed you to the weird random screaming club." Julia smiles.
"I just want to apologize again for everything in the past. At least I have you unlike how you had no one." Lydia pulls Julia into a hug.
"Well, like I said, I still don't understand it, but yeah, you have me." Julia hugs her back.

Old Friend
deucalion x reader
“(Y/N)?” Rafael’s voice crackled on the other end of the phone. “McCall?” “I need your help.” Sirens whirled in the background. “You what?” “There’s a hunting problem.” That cleared absolutely nothing up. “I’m an author, not a cop, McCall.” “At the shipyard,” he continued, as though he hadn’t heard you. “Remember I told you about the Hale attack?” “McCall,” you heard, muffled, on the other end of the phone. “Name’s a little too close to home, ain’t it, Ferrell?” “Please.” The line went dead. “Hale attack? That was a fire.” Your heart plummeted in your chest. “Hunters.” You scrambled for the door, not even bothering to lock it as you ran. You’d heard about them coming, heard about the new pack, the True Alpha. Hell, you’d even helped once or twice, when Melissa or Argent called you in. But you hadn’t made the connection between McCall and Scott McCall, the tiny, chubby little kid you’d looked after while his mom worked.
Guns were already firing when you reached the shipyard, and someone was crawling for cover. Or, trying too. He was far too old to be Scott, even as his eyes flashed red, claws extending to drag him across the ground. Three teenagers were scattered around the yard, another man crouched behind a steel beam. You waited, as the Hunters moved forward. Then the barrage ceased, though they kept their guns raised. You launched forward, then, and cut off three from the back with ease. You grabbed a fourth by the throat and tossed him into another, finally drawing their attention to you, as you managed to grab the wounded wolf and bolt in their confusion. “Made a new friend, Scott?” That voice sent chills down your spine, blood-soaked memories clawing their way from the pit of your mind. Your parents – human parents, dead on the floor, just for protecting you. “Just in time to bury them.” You swept through the group to the woman speaking, throwing her to the ground. She spun to look at you, as she landed, but you were already moving, surging towards her. Through the corner of your eye, you caught sight of one of her hunters moving towards the stone column, where Scott was crouched, and you changed courses, knowing you wouldn’t get there in time. Then an engine revved, and suddenly there was a Jeep spearing into the shipyards and the Hunter went flying from the impact. You felt a bullet shatter your shoulder and growled, turning back towards Monroe as two new faces joined the fight. She glanced at you, then behind her, and took off for her car, her men following behind her. Half of you wanted to go after her, but Scott needed you more than you needed revenge. Scott’s pack soon grouped up around where he was struggling, vainly, to stem the blood flow of the wounded man. You pushed him aside, lightly, kneeling in his place. The man ignored you, still focused on Scott. Something about Gerard and knowing he couldn’t win. His breath cut off. “It’s really started, hasn’t it?” None of them stopped you, but you could feel them staring as you leaned forward, eyes flashing black, as you buried your claws in the back of his neck. “Hey!” The late werewolf – a Hale – grabbed Scott’s arm as he protested. “She’s a Grim,” he breathed, as the man’s flashed open and he gasped for breath. “She just – she just brought him back from the dead, right?” Stiles asked, jaw dropped. “I’m not insane?” “She just brought him back from the dead,” the redhead agreed. “He wasn’t quite dead,” you corrected, immediately darting out of the way as the man swung onto his hands and knees, choking in mouthfuls of air.
“Who – wait, (Y/N)?!” “It’s been a while, pup.” He stared as you rubbed the back of your neck, awkwardly. “Pretty impressive pack you’ve gathered. A handful of Hales, a Banshee, another Alpha…” You glanced at Stiles. “…the Sheriff’s son. Very human, very smart. You’re taking good care of him, right?” You carefully placed your foot on the wounded man’s back as he moved to stand. He swung his head around to glare. “Sorry, but you should stay down there, sir.” “Gonna introduce us, Scott?” the late Hale prompted. “Oh! Yeah, sorry,” Scott gestured between you and the pack, “Everyone, this is (Y/N). She used to babysit me as a kid. I did not know she was supernatural. (Y/N), this is Derek, Peter, Malia, Lydia, and you know Stiles.” You tilted your head, surreptitiously, towards the recovering wolf. “That’s Deucalion.” “He’s who?” you questioned, earning a half-hearted laugh from the man on the ground. “Can I get up, now?” he requested, lightly, his voice still rough around the edges. You hesitated, then offered your hand. “You have to let me help you, though.” He glanced from your hand to your face, then sighed and took it, letting you help him to his feet, supporting his aching body. “Nice to meet you, oh Mr Demon Wolf, Destroyer of Worlds, pep-talker of my favourite kid.” He chuckled, lowly. “Nice to meet you, Miss Death-Defier, Beacon Hills’ Grim, babysitter of the True Alpha.” The others were all staring at you, wide-eyed, when you both looked back at them. “We should leave.” “I want to take him to Deaton,” you added, as they all nodded. He sighed, and you all waited for him to protest. “What?” he challenged, letting you help him towards your car, “I’d rather see the Druid than die.”
The roar echoed through the school, reverberating in your chest – pain, anger, hurt. “Scott?!” Before you could take off, Deucalion grabbed your arm. “You don’t know how to fight it.” “Scott’s hurt!” “He’ll be more hurt if you’re dead.” You sighed, but nodded, mutely. “Let me go ahead.” He offered you his hand. “Unless I squeeze your hand, don’t open your eyes. It knows how to trick us.” “Don’t you need that?” You glanced at his hand, and he offered you a lopsided smirk. “If I do, I’ll just throw you with my punch.” You snorted, but took his hand anyway. “Give me some warning, I’ll even put my claws out and actually make myself useful.”
“Bobby?!” The Coach spun at the sound of your voice. “What the hell are you doing here? Are you hurt?” “Just looking after my players,” he answered, brightly. You raised an eyebrow. “Some asshole thought he could get away with touching my boys outside my office. I mean, sure, Jackson and Ethan aren’t my team anymore, but they’re still –” “Bobby, are they okay?” “What? Of course,” he huffed, folding his arms. “I hit him with a lacrosse stick.” Deucalion raised an eyebrow. “Not all of us have fangs and claws.” Then he paused for a moment. “Hang on, you’re the asshole–“ “Coach?” You heard a clatter in the nearby entrance hall, as Scott appeared, but just surged towards him. Deucalion headed for the noise. Blood still stained around his eyes but he smiled, offering a soft laugh, as you checked him over. “I’m fine.” “You blinded yourself?” Horror coursed through you. “He what?” Bobby demanded. Jackson and Ethan appeared, from the same direction Bobby had come. Ethan did a double take, but Deucalion held up his hands in surrender, and the boy approached, warily. “Coach, why are you here?” Stiles questioned, still entirely bewildered. “He just saved us,” Ethan admitted, making Derek raise an eyebrow. “Malia?” Peter crashed through the doors behind them. “Malia– you’re okay.” The girl in question smiled, brightly, crushing her father into a hug. Peter froze. Derek kicked Stiles before he could snicker. “Coach saved you?” Stiles asked, returning his attention to the boys. “No need for that tone, Stilinski.” “He beat a hunter unconscious with a lacrosse stick,” Jackson explained, and Stiles’ jaw dropped further. “Wait, do you know about this, Coach?” Scott asked, brows furrowed. “Of course I know. That’s my sister fussing over you.” “She’s your what?” “I’m adopted,” you assured the baffled teenagers.
Deucalion cleared his throat, summoning your attention. He held up Monroe by her collar. “She’s still alive.” “You won’t kill me,” she sneered, “McCall won’t let you.” “McCall’s not my Alpha,” Deucalion responded, eyes flashing red. “Yet you still deferred to him.” Deucalion snarled, but looked back to Scott. “This is your territory, Scott.” The boy hesitated. “But it’s a war for all of us.” They hadn’t even seen you moving before her heart dropped to the floor. “(Y/N)?!” “What the hell?!” Deucalion didn’t speak through the teenaged chorus, just discarded the body, unceremoniously, curious gaze fixed on your face. “A woman after my own heart.” Malia elbowed Peter, cutting off his muttering. “Was that her?” A sob tore from your throat at Bobby’s question, raw and ragged, but you nodded. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at your brother, or at Scott, afraid of what you would see there. So you just held Deucalion’s gaze, as if begging him to understand… something. Anything. Even you weren’t sure what. The man was a killer, after all. You didn’t need to justify yourself to him. You could hear Bobby explaining, behind you, but still didn’t dare look back. You flinched when Deucalion finally broke the impasse by taking a step forward, but didn’t move away. He continued forward, slowly, until he had closed the distance between you, a warm hand coming to rest on your shoulder.
“Are you alright?” The question was stiff, awkward, but you couldn’t say you expected any different. Before you even registered what you were doing, you slumped forward, burying your head in his chest. He went stiff for a moment, but you soon felt his arms inch around you, one hand coming to your hair. Your sobs began to fade, breathing falling into sync with the soothing fingers trailing through your hair. “Am I seeing this right– ow, Derek!” A low growl rumbled from Deucalion’s chest, vibrating through your body, and Stiles fell silent. With a shuddering breath, you pulled away and looked up to meet the eyes of the Alpha of Alphas. He raised an eyebrow, but his expression was gentle. “Sorry,” you mumbled. “You just single-handedly destroyed a well-manicured, decades-old reputation.” There was no anger in his voice. “I think you did that when you started practicing pacifism,” Peter drawled, making both Scott and Deucalion glare at him. He shrugged, but didn’t try to take it back. “Can I suggest we leave?” Lydia piped up, quietly. “I don’t know about you, but I could do with a shower.” She looked down at her dust-covered hands, the stains of blood and sweat on her clothes. Murmurs of agreement followed, and you all headed for the doors. “Scott, if you see your father, tell him I’ll be by tomorrow.” Scott raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t think I just magically realised you were about to die, did you?” You didn’t bother listening to their mumbled responses, just made a beeline for your car. “Call me tonight!” Bobby shouted after you. You waved your agreement.

Twelve Days of Rarepairs: Scanny | Scott McCall x Danny Mahealani (Teen Wolf)
Requested by @childofsquidward
The collie laying on the table is patient and docile as Scott finishes slotting the cone into place around her neck. She just stares up at him with big eyes, nudging against his hand with her nose.
Laughing, Scott rubs her head. Her tail gives a little wiggle in response.
"You know, you're the only one I've seen who isn't bothered by this thing," he tells her, scratching behind her ear.
She just gives a playful yip in response.
The bell rings over the front door, alerting Scott to someone entering the animal clinic. Somewhat pointless considering he heard the heartbeat first. But Lola's ears immediately perk up, and her tail bangs against the table.
Scott grins at Danny when he appears in the doorway, holding two festive coffee cups.
"You've been missed," he says.
Lola's already standing on the table, barking fondly at Danny. He laughs, and moves towards her, fuelling her excitement.
"By which one of you?" Danny jokes.
Scott's eyes widen. He opens his mouth, but he falters, and Danny's already focused on Lola again anyway. Heat rushes to his face. He quickly tries to regain some composure.
"Hey, girl! Oh, you look so good!" Danny coos. "Did Dr. McCall take good care of you?"
Scott tries to bite back a smile and fails. He's getting used to hearing his friends call him Dr. McCall, more as a joke, but something about the way Danny says it gives him this fluttering in his chest.
So, when he first saw him at the start of December, it was a surprise. He'd practically disappeared off the face of the earth for two years, and then suddenly he was back in town for the holidays, to see his family and friends.
But not only that, Scott hadn't quite realized just how attractive Danny is. Was he always that good-looking while they were at school together? Of course he was, everyone knew it. But Scott hadn't exactly been out to himself at that point, so seeing Danny back from New Orleans, even more tanned, with even more defined muscles—yeah, Scott might get a little nervous whenever he sees him now.
And it doesn't help that they seem to be seeing more of each other now than they did while at school. They run into each other in town. When Scott went back to fill in for Coach while he was away towards the end of the year, Danny just kept showing up, saying he was visiting a teacher to discuss something (he is, after all, in computer programming now, so it makes some semblance of sense), and they'd talk out on the field. He bmped into him while bringing his mom lunch at the hospital.
Scott even saw him while out with Lydia two weeks ago. He was catching up with Jackson, who was also back in town for the holidays, like everyone else.
And now at work, too. The universe seems to be playing some joke on him. He doesn't mind all that much, for once. As long as this isn't going to lead to him finding out that Danny's actually been turned into a vampire, or has been possessed by some new, evil spirit.
"Thank you," Danny says, lifting his eyes to Scott. Of course, Scott's still the one looking up at him, because it would appear Danny has had another growth spurt as well as everything else.
Scott realizes he isn't answering. Just gazing. He grins, and hastily tries to not be totally obvious.
"Just doing my job," he says with a shrug.
Danny rolls his eyes. "Yeah, but I know for a fact that this clinic should have been shut for the rest of the holidays. So, thank you for seeing her anyway."
Scott hesitates at that. "Well… you're a friend. And I had to come in today anyway. And—" he looks down at Lola, who's settled back down on the table, and gives her head another rub "—I couldn't just leave this one stranded on Christmas Eve."
"We both thank you, then." Danny then holds out one of the coffee cups. "A gesture to prove it."
"God, thank you," Scott says, gratefully accepting the cup and taking a drink. "I haven't had anything all day. Or since last night. Including sleep. I might be running on three Mountain Dews and a kitkat."
Danny raises his eyebrows in disbelief. "That… can't be good for you."
Scott just shrugs again. He'll probably feel the effects later on today, since it's currently only one-thirty in the afternoon. As long as he makes it to four to head to the station to see Stiles, then he can head back home and have a nap. And maybe food.
"I didn't know the life of a vet was so demanding."
"It's the holidays," Scott explains, taking another drink before continuing. The gingerbread-cinnamon-whatever is in this latte is the best thing he's ever had right now. "Lots of people want their pets better before Christmas and New Year. A lot of strays get found with bad injuries. Currently I have—"
Barking starts up from the dog room in the back. Scott smiles, gesturing towards the door as Lola once again perks up.
"—them. Eight labrador puppies. They're under a year old. Deaton and I were trying to get them rehomed before the holidays, but it didn't work out. That's why I was coming in to work anyway, since Deaton's out of town."
"Never mind, your job is clearly far more demanding than I thought." Danny smiles, glances down at Lola, then pauses. "Do you need a hand with them at all? They sound pretty eager for attention."
"Yeah, I was gonna take them out for a walk once I was finished up here," Scott says.
Danny's grin widens. "You planned to walk eight hyperactive labrador puppies by yourself? In the snow?"
Scott just gives another shrug. "They're not too hard to handle once they're outside."
The look Danny is giving him only intensifies the fluttery feeling in his chest. It's like something's tickling him from the inside. He can feel the heat beneath his skin, in his cheeks.
"Guess that whole Alpha thing really does give you an advantage, huh," Danny says, a certain teasing twinkle in his eyes but his grin sincere.
Scott has barely gotten used to the idea of Danny knowing about the supernatural at all, never mind him making casual comments about it. And especially not while he's looking at him like that.
"I don't know if it's anything to do with that," Scott says, shaking his head. "But… sometimes, yeah. It comes in handy."
Danny nods. The puppies are still barking in the back, trying to get Scott's attention.
"Well, I think Lola could use a walk after being so good about this," Danny says. He looks at Scott, smiling. "Mind if we join you? I can be pretty good with dogs, might help to take a couple off your hands for an hour."
Scott's eyebrows raise in surprise, and his heartbeat raises itself as well.
"You… but—" he frowns, his head tilting with a confused smile "—it's Christmas Eve. Don't you wanna get back to your family?"
"They won't miss me for a little while," Danny says, brushing it off. Then, because he seems to be catching on, he rolls his eyes, and says, "Please? You helped me with Lola when you clearly already had your hands full. I wanna do more than get you coffee."
Scott's heart drops into his stomach and lurches right back up. He swallows, and tries to keep his mind on one track, biting his lip.
"Uh… yeah," he breathes out before he can think twice. "You know what? That would be great. Thank you."
"No problem," Danny says, sincerely.
They get Lola to hop off the table, and head into the back room to get the others ready. Danny just laughs when he sees the little christmas hats Scott put on the ones that were happy to wear them.
As they're getting them all on their leashes, Danny casually adds, with a glance at Scott, "And if you were up for it, I'd like to get coffee with you sometime."
Scott accidentally clips the leash to his hand instead of the collar. He winces, quickly undoing it and fixing it to its right place instead. Then he looks over at Danny and his amused grin, his heart racing.
"Like—like a date?" he asks, hardly daring to believe that's what he means. Danny was never interested in him. Was he?
Scott's quickly going through every interaction he's ever had with him.
"Exactly a date," Danny corrects.
Scott's eyes are wide. His mouth opens, then closes. He wasn't prepared for this. Sure, the thought of Danny liking him back crosses his mind after Stiles and Lydia both insisted that he did after he told them about running into him all those times. But that doesn't mean he was prepared for it.
"You can say no," Danny says, giving another casual shrug as clips the last lead on to the last excited puppy. "I just thought I might as well ask. Waiting three years to do it was bad enough, I didn't want to seem totally pathetic by waiting four to at least know what you'd say."
"Three—what?" Scott asks in disbelief, sure that he must have somehow misheard. "You've wanted to ask me out for… three years?"
"Like I said, it was starting to seem pathetic." Danny looks at him, holding his stare with a soft gaze. "But, Lydia told me that you came out last year, and after seeing you, I figured I should at least ask."
"Wow. Uh…" Scott's mind is a mess, and he can't sort his thoughts out. Except for one. "I'd love to."
Danny blinks, thrown off his own guard now. Apparently even he wasn't prepared. But he quickly recovers, as does Scott, smiles forming across both their faces.
"Go on a date with you, I mean," Scott says, as if it needs further elaboration.
"Really?" Danny asks. "Uh… today?"
Scott's breath is knocked out of him, but he's already nodding again. "Yeah, absolutely."
He didn't think anything could make the fluttery feeling in his chest worse. Turns out, Danny smiling at him like he is right now is the thing that can.
"Okay, great," he says. "Then let's get these guys out of here."
Scott happily agrees. They head out of the back door after making sure the front is locked up. It has to be an hour or more that passes as they walk the dogs through town, taking an open path into the woods, through the snow. The whole way, Scott and Danny are talking, and laughing, catching up on the years they missed and in between.

Season 3a; Episode 12: Lunar Eclipse
Hello all! Please read this note because it’s important!
This is the last chapter of season 3a! I’m not sure when I will begin season 3b since the story is now at the same place it is on my Wattpad. So if you are enjoying the story make sure to ask me to be added to the taglist so you know when I begin posting again. Also please answer my pinned post and feel free to send in imagine and/or ship requests. And let me know if you want to send (Y/N) questions so she can answer (I think that would be fun to do in between seasons). As always constructive criticism is appreciated and I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Season 3a; Episode 12: Lunar Eclipse

Season 3a masterlist
Lydia, Isaac, and Dr. Deaton watch as I nervously pace the room waiting for my twin, Stiles, and Allison to wake up.
Suddenly, almost simultaneously, the three teeangers burst up from the freezing tubs, gasping for breath. I quickly grab towels and rush over to the person closest to me - Allison. I help her out and wrap the towel around her to help her get warm.
As Isaac and Lydia hand Scott and Stiles towels, Scott rushes out, "I saw it- I know where it is."
"We passed it - there's a stump - this huge tree -  not huge now - it was cut down - but big. Very big." Stiles continues.
"It was the night we were looking for the body-" Scott says looking at his best friend.
"The night you were bit by Peter." Stiles replies.
"I was there too. In the car with my mother. We almost hit someone." Allison says, bringing the attention to her.
"It was me - you almost hit me." Scott states.
The three then turn their attention to the others around them, "We can find it." Scott says to Deaton.
The rest of us stay silent though, looking on with perplexed faces. "What?" Allison asks.
"You guys were out a long time." Isaac answers.
"How long is a long time?" Stiles questions.
"Sixteen hours." I say.
"We were out for sixteen hours?" Scott asks in disbelief.
"And the full moon rises in less than four." Deaton adds.
There is another brief moment of silence as the three teenagers try to warm up and Scott announces that he needs to go back to Deucalion and that I need to go too.
"No, dude. You're not going back to them. And (Y/N) isn't going either." Stiles says.
"I made a deal with Deucalion. I need to go, and I told him I would get (Y/N/N) to go too."
"Anybody else thinks that sounded a lot like 'deal with the Devil.' I don't know about you guys, but I've heard that situation doesn't usually come with a happy ending." Stiles tries to argue.
"Why's it matter anyway?" Isaac asks.
"Because I still don't think we can beat Jennifer without their help." Scott states.
Allison turns to Deaton, "He trusts you more than any of us. Tell him he's wrong."
"I'm not so sure he is." Deaton says, surprising us all. "Circumstances like this sometimes require you to align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies."
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." I mumble under my breath.
"We're supposed to trust him? The guy who calls himself Death, destroyer of worlds." Isaac says.
"I wouldn't trust him, no. But you could certainly use him to your advantage." Deaton answers.
"If we find our parents and Jennifer's there waiting for us, no one's getting out alive. We need help." Scott says, trying to explain his reasoning.
"What if we distract her?" Lydia suggests.
"She wants Deucalion. Nothing's going to distract her from that."
"Then let's use him." I say making everyone's head turn towards me. "He makes the perfect distraction if she wants him so bad. If our plan involves using him as bait, it's sure to work."
"Okay. Then we better come up with a really good plan. Really fast."
The sound of the front door opening stops us from continuing the conversation. We all step out of the exam room to see who came in. "I'm looking for Lydia." Ethan says, standing in the doorway.
"What do you want?" Lydia asks.
"I need your help."
I take a protective stance in front of Lydia and clench my jaw, "With what?" I question.
"Stopping my brother and Kali... From killing Derek."
"I'm coming too." I speak up.
"(Y/N/N)-" Scott starts.
"I can meet you later. Just text me where you are." I say, making Scott nod in response.

Ethan, Lydia, and I make our way to Derek's loft. Once inside, my eyes immediately find Cora's, who is now standing up and looking a lot healthier than before. "Cora, you're alright." I sigh in relief.
She gives me a nod and a tight lipped smile then brings her attention to the Alpha by my side. I turn back around and start walking towards Derek, Ethan and Lydia following closely behind.
"And you look like shit, Der." I say, narrowing my eyes.
He sends me a weak glare, "Thanks, (Y/N/N)."
Finally, Ethan speaks up, "We know about the lunar eclipse. So don't think Kali's going to sit around waiting for it to level the playing field. She's coming. And my brother's coming with her."
"Good enough for me. Derek, let's get you out of here." Peter says from behind us.
"You want me to run?" Derek asks his uncle.
"No, I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an Alpha with a psychotic foot fetish. Of course, I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town."
Derek turns his attention to his sister, "If you want to fight and die for something, fine with me. But do it for something meaningful." She says.
"How do you know I'm going to lose?" Derek asks.
"We don't." Peter answers. He then looks towards Lydia and I, "But I bet they have an idea. Don't you girls?"
"I don't know anything." Lydia instantly replies.
"But you feel something, don't you?"
She hesitates but slowly nods. "What do you feel?" Derek wearily asks.
"I feel like... Like I'm standing in a graveyard."
Derek then turns his attention to me, "What about you, (Y/N/N)? What do you feel?"
I sigh, "I think you should listen to Peter. God, I never thought those words would come out of my mouth. Seriously though, my danger sense has been weird because there has been so much going on, right now I kinda just feel numb. Like something is wrong but it might not be what we think it is."
"Still though, we better be safe. You three need to leave." I continue after a brief pause.

Kali's clawed foot smashes the blinking red security light on the alarm panel as she steps foot into Derek's loft. Aiden is behind her, a glare on his face.
Kali locks her gaze on Ethan, Lydia and I and asks, "Where is he?"
"I think he said he was heading out to do some shopping. Run a few errands. The usual werewolf afternoon." Lydia answers.
Kali threateningly steps closer to Lydia. I take a protective step in front of her. "Who do you think you're talking to?" Kali asks, gaze still locked on the strawberry blonde.
"Someone desperately in need of a pedicure? I'd be happy to give you a referral."
Kali's eyes begin to glow red as she takes another step forward. "Oh really?"
My eyes glow white in return and a low growl escapes my mouth. Aiden also is starting to grow more concerned and takes a step forward to interfere.
The movement catches Kali's eye. She turns her attention towards Aiden and asks, "Did someone take their little assignment too seriously?"
Aiden eyes Lydia and answers, "She's not the problem. And you know Deucalion wants (Y/N) alive."
"Maybe the problem is where your loyalties lie." Kali replies.
Lydia then whispers, "Oh God, is this about to get really violent?"
"Probably." Ethan and I answer together.
Before Kali or Aiden can start fighting, a body crashes through the glass. I instinctively wrap my arms around Lydia and push her towards the stairs to protect her from the shards.
Arms still wrapped tightly around Lydia, we both turn our heads to the person who entered the loft, "So. Who wants to be first?" Jennifer asks, looking between the twins and Kali.
In the blink of an eye Kali starts trying to fight Jennifer, though the woman seems untouchable with every advance. In the meantime, Ethan and Aiden rush towards each other to connect but Jennifer pulls them apart before they are fully formed.
Lydia and I watch in shock, my arms still wrapped around her to protect her from any flying debris. She sends the twins flying into opposite walls and turns back to face Kali.
"That's right, Kali. Look at me. Look at my face. Do you know what it takes to be able to look like this? To be able to look normal." Jennifer says, taking slow steps towards the Alpha.
"I don't care." Kali spits out.
"It takes power like this.." Jennifer trails off as she raises her arms. Kali takes slow steps back, realizing that she wasn't going to win this battle. The glass shards start to raise from the ground each point turning to face Kali.
When the shards move rapidly in Kali's direction I once again wrap my body around Lydia as we both squeeze our eyes shut, not wanting to see what happens next.
At the sound of something snapping I peel my face away from Lydia and we both slowly turn in Jennifer's direction. We look just in time to see Aiden and Ethan in their combined Alpha form, falling to the ground.
Jennifer turns toward us, "What's that line Coach likes to say? The bigger they are..." She slowly approaches us, making me maneuver my body in front of Lydia, though I know it won't do any good.
"What do you want from us?" Lydia asks from behind me.
"Nothing from (Y/N), in fact maybe I'll kill her too. But you Lydia, I want you to do what you do best. I want you to scream."
"Don't do it Lyds." I say, my glare never leaving Jennifer.
"Do it Lydia. And if I were you I wouldn't be barking orders. I could snap you like a twig."
"No you won't. Because I know you want Deucalion. And if you keep me alive, I'll help you get him. Scott told me he was going to be with him, he's going to text me where they are."
Jennifer's eyes narrow, probably wondering if I'm telling the truth or trying to fool her.
"No games." I say, "I want Deucalion dead. He won't leave my brother or I alone and I need your help to defeat him."
"Fine, but I still want Derek here and to get him here, I need Lydia to scream."
Lydia looks at me with wide eyes, unsure of what to do. I give her a slight nod, telling her to listen. Not waiting any longer, Lydia let's out a powerful shriek. I reach up to block my ears and wait for it to be over.

A few minutes later, Derek and Cora enter the loft. Both of their eyes find Jennifer first, then they land on Lydia and I, followed by a quick sweep of the room.
Cora makes her way around Jennifer to put a protective arm around Lydia, who looks distraught. "You did this for me?" Derek asks Jennifer.
"For us. For anyone who's ever been their victim." Jennifer answers.
"Stop talking to me like a politician. Stop trying to convince me of your cause."
"Fine. I'll convince you of someone else's. Scott and (Y/N). You can save their mother. Stiles' father-"
Derek cuts her off, "How?"
"I need a Guardian. That's a role that can either be filled by the three parents I was forced to take or by you."
I knit my eyebrows in confusion at Jennifer's words. "I can't help you. I'm not even an Alpha anymore."
"All I need is for you to help me get Deucalion in the right place at the right time. (Y/N) said she would help already."
Derek's eyes move to me and I give him a quick nod, hoping that he realizes there is a plan in motion. He moves his eyes back to Jennifer, "You just killed three of them on your own. What do you need us for?"
"You've never seen him at his strongest. I have. And if he's got Scott with him, I don't stand a chance. Unless I have you two."
"We are not hurting Scott. That's not part of the deal." I say.
Without sparing me a glance Jennifer continues, "I have the eclipse in my favor. But the moon's only going to be in the Earth's umbral shadow for fifteen minutes. That's the extent of my window. There's no decision to struggle with. Help me kill him and the others live. Just help me."
*_*_*_*_*_*
Derek and I walk behind Jennifer as we make our way inside the distillery. Scott's eyes widen when he sees Derek and I with Jennifer.
"What are you two doing?" Scott asks, eyes sweeping between the former Alpha and me.
"This might be hard to believe, but I'm actually trying to help you." Derek says.
Deucalion's eyes never stray from Jennifer, "Are you ready Jennifer?" He asks. He takes a step forward and drops his jacket. His voice becomes more demonic with every step in our direction.
"Did you gather your herbs? Pray to your ancient Gods and your oak trees? Slit a baby's throat, perhaps? Should we show them why you needed to sacrifice nine innocent people just to face me? Or is it twelve now?"
Derek steps in front of Deucalion to protect Jennifer from the attack. He is quickly overpowered though, and slammed into the side of the building.
I stand back, not getting in the way of the demon wolf and his prey. In an instant he is on Jennifer. He defeats them so quickly I barely had time to breathe properly. His red eyes turn to lock onto Scott, "Kill her."
We watch as Scott looks down at Jennifer, "Do it." Deucalion snaps.
With Scott hesitating, Deucalion lets out a roar, forcing Scott to change. "Now kill her. Your parents are dying. That storm you hear? She's burying them alive. It's her connection to the Telluric Currents. Kill her and it ends."
"It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you kill everyone you love. It's what he does." Jennifer chokes out.
"They're dying, Scott. Your mother and the parents of your best friends. Kill her now and it's over. Become the Alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer."
"Kill her yourself if you want her dead so bad. You have her right there. You can do it. You don't need me or my brother." I say, bringing Deucalion's attention to me for the first time.
Before he can speak, I continue, "The only reason you want him to do it is so he doesn't become a True Alpha. The Alpha he is destined to be. You're afraid of him and you want control over him. The only way to do that is to make him a killer. But you underestimate him. You underestimate both of us. And that's bad for you."
Scott then begins speaking, bringing the Alpha's attention back to him, "I forgot to tell you something. Something Gerard told me." There is a brief pause, "One of the last things he said to me. Deucalion isn't always blind."
At his words I throw my arm up and squeeze my eyes shut to protect myself from the flash bolt that Scott pulls out of his pocket and throws to the ground.
Deucalion frantically waves his hands in front of his face, trying to regain his eyesight. I slowly put my arm down and open my eyes just as Deucalion speaks, "The eclipse... It's started."
Me and the three other werewolves begin to look around, not being able to spot Jennifer anywhere, in Deucalion's case not being able to hear her. "Oh no..." Scott whispers.
Suddenly, no longer using her power to disguise her face, Jennifer reappears.  She growls out, "My turn." and advances on Deucalion.
We watch as Jennifer slams Deucalion's head into the cement. She is close to killing him until Derek calls out, "Jennifer." Her eyes snap to him. "He doesn't know."
"Know what?" She questions.
"What you really look like. He knows the cost of bringing Kali into his pack. But he's never seen the price you paid."
Jennifer looks down at Deucalion who is struggling to breathe. In a quiet voice she mumbles, "No... No, he hasn't." I watch on in confusion as she lifts her hand to cover Deucalion's eyes.
Jennifer's eyes begin to glow white and Deucalion cries out in pain. Finally releasing him, Jennifer steps back. "Turn to me." She says to the Alpha.
Slowly, Deucalion lifts his head and turns to the sound of her voice. Jennifer stumbles back, now returning to her human face. "What... what is this?" She asks.
Derek catches her, "Healing him made you weak. Just like healing Cora did to me. You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes."
"Then you do it. Kill him."
"No." Derek answers without hesitation.
"What?" Jennifer asks, stunned.
"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator. I don't have to be a killer." He then grabs her by the throat, "But I will if it saves their lives."
She starts to gasp as his grip tightens, "Let them go."
Regaining her strength she throws Derek against the wall. But her time is up, the eclipse is over. She slams his head against the wall one more time but Scott and I are rising and changing into our werewolf forms.
Derek growls out, "Your fifteen minutes are up." He then proceeds to shove Jennifer off of him. She scrambles back in a panic as the three of us approach. Desperate, Jennifer throws her hand up.
Scott slams into a barrier as he tries to reach her. She throws mountain ash around her. "Like I told you, Derek. Either you or the parents. And I guess I'll just have to take them. A few more minutes, they'll be dead and I won't need a lunar eclipse even to kill a Demon-Wolf."
Scott pulls himself up and approaches the barrier once more. Jennifer's head turns in his direction, "You've tried this before Scott. I don't remember you having much success."
Instead of answering Scott raises his hands to the barrier and slowly pushes his way through. After about 30 seconds the barrier breaks, Jennifer takes a step back in shock, "How... how did you do that?"
"I'm an Alpha now." Scott says, I smirk as I watch my twin be a complete badass. "Whatever you're doing to cause the storm, make it stop or I'll kill you myself. And I don't care what it does to the color of my eyes."
"It won't change the color of mine. So allow me." Deucalion says, he charges past slashing her throat. Her body changes from the Darach to Jennifer to back again as she falls backwards, a hand pressed to her throat.
I reach into my pocket, quickly grabbing my phone to call Lydia as Scott calls Stiles. "Are you okay?" I ask as soon as she answers.
"Yeah, Cora and I brought the twins to Deaton. They're still alive. We're all good."
"Good. Scott, Derek, and I are alright too. Scott's talking to Stiles right now." I pause to listen in on his conversation, "Everyone's alright." I say when I hear Stiles tell Scott to bring a ladder to get them out.
Once we hang up, Derek, Scott, Deucalion and I step outside the distillery. "My mother told me you were a man of vision once. We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again." Derek says to the Alpha.
"But if you're not, having your eyes back won't matter." Scott says.
"Because you won't see us coming." I finished. The three of us walk off, leaving Deucalion behind.
