Yaaaaaay! I'm done!! My idea was to create a fake otome game cover using khr male ocs as the love interests! Also made a fake screenshot with Dan who is not a love interest. [I like thinking discourse dissolves amount fans about this... :) one side demands he becomes one because he's so hot and relatable the other side is like "HELLO? He is gay and has not one but TWO boyfriends!!!"] Chief Daniele Costa belongs to @lixenn

Love ≠ Life: Dance With Darkness

[Fake] synopsis: Sasagawa Kyoko has lived a relatively normal life despite her older brother being the sun guardian for the Neo-Vongola. Kyoko tries not to think too much about this or the fact his boss and her old classmate, Sawada Tsunayoshi, distanced himself from her after middle school.

However not long after the Neo-Vongola separates from Vongola, Kyoko finds her life becoming much more dangerous very quickly. Will these new experiences lead to a fruitful love or will it lead to her death?

Some things I thought of for this:

Yui: FIRST OF ALL HE IS STILL MARRIED!!! Just "separated" and he cries and is so broken up about his wife potentially leaving him and he'll be homeless. Kyoko comes across him living in a cardboard box with a tin can to collect change... he used to live across from his actual house but his neighbors called the cops because "some homeless guy is panhandling!" So now he's in the park where Kyoko comes across him.

[Good End] Yui and Kyoko form a friendship where Kyoko listens to Yui's heartaches and gives him advice to get back with his wife. They go to a bar where Yui drinks and Kyoko sips juice.

[Bad End] Yui and Kyoko fall for each other but can not be because Yui is homeless and still with his wife. He leaves Kyoko's apartment that he had stayed at and now lives under a bridge. His wife hears he was staying at another woman's house and divorces him. Yui is back to being harassed by cops but it's fine because Kyoko brings him food and blankets...It's so cold under the bridge...

[TRUE END] Kyoko's friendship and good cheer leads to Yui reconciling with his wife!! He's back in the house and everything!!! Kyoko feels happy for Yui but also a bit sad. Will she find love? Well at least she found a dear friend...

Tw: cheating scumbag incoming. General mistreatment as well. Pregnancy mention at the end of the Kai portion.

Kai: THERE ARE NO GOOD ENDS WITH KAI. Either ("good" end) you as Kyoko get in a relationship with him where he constantly cheats and goes "you made me because I needed more attention." Or (true end) these two dated a bit and you left him because of the cheating but it hurts still to see him around town with five girls clinging to him simultaneously. Or (bad end) where it's the same as "good" except now Kyoko is pregnant. 😀

Ngl, the others feel like you can actually romance them with typical otome scenarios happening, so I'll stop here!!

TITLE(Ren): Astro Dive: Third stage Separation

Ren(monologue): It started about a year ago. That day, I was just aiming for the top like climbing the stairs to the starry sky. Higher, higher. I've always loved music, but there's one other thing I love... stargazing. Whenever I got stuck while composing, I would always go out to look at the stars. That day was the peak of the meteor shower, and I had been looking forward to it for a long time. But the sky was cloudy, and I couldn’t see a single star. I resented the sky. The natural environment was getting worse day by day. But on the other hand, I couldn’t give up, so I grabbed my observation equipment and headed to the tower. It was a great opportunity, and I didn't want to miss it. So I took the risk. This tower, the tallest in the area, had been designated a No-go Zone by the government's new National Conservation Agency. This tower, once a symbol of Japan, has been reduced to mere rubble. ……I think it’s pitiful. But I’m also drawn to pitiful places like that.  So even though I knew it was dangerous, I sneaked up there.

Flashback

Ren: When I reached the top,  I was greeted by a magnificent view. There wasn't much light around there, so it was perfect for stargazing. I continued my observations in high spirits, staying in the tower until the night sky began to lighten.

Ren: …  I never imagined that someone was tailing me…

MiKe Studio Lounge

Sou: A student from our school had been following Ren, and when he saw his behavior he reported him to the National Conservation Agency. So Ren was taken away and interrogated. 

Minato: They claimed that Ren went to a restricted area and engaged in illegal money and goods transactions. But that’s impossible. He’d never do that. The guys in the dorm knew that Ren liked stargazing!

Sou: In the end, the misunderstanding was cleared up and he was released, but his school found out he had gone to the tower and he was suspended…

Ren: ...At that time, our unit, ATOMOSUREINN, was at the peak of its popularity and we had a ton of fans. It was the best time of our lives. But, rumors about me started spreading, and people started saying that I'd been arrested for a minor crime, which caused a firestorm of controversy. Since I was suspended and our group activities had stopped, I guess people thought it was true. ATOMOSUREINN derailed quickly, and by the time my suspension was lifted and we resumed activities– All that was left was bad reviews… 

Ren: … It was my fault. 

Minato: It’s not your fault! 

Ren: But you both always say that. I knew it's dangerous to go into the restricted area. I should have stayed away, but instead I just went up to the tower thoughtlessly...

Sou: Of course, it would have been better if you had listened, but it's wrong to follow someone with malicious intent.

Minato:   That's right, I told you not to worry! Even though you haven’t done anything, people are spreading rumors and speaking negatively... There's no need to give in to those kinds of voices!

Sou: Besides, I can't think of any other reason why that student would go to the trouble of setting up such a trap for Ren other than jealousy. He was still holding a grudge over losing to Ren in a class evaluation.

Kei: … This person that followed Ren, they knew each other? 

Minato: He was Ren’s friend. He’s dropped out of school now. 

Kei: I see. 

Ren: But if I hadn't climbed the tower back then, this wouldn't have happened. My head was filled with regret. I didn't even feel like touching the guitar or writing the song I was working on. … So, I decided that was enough. I had sworn I'd never climb the tower again, but now I don't need to keep that promise anymore– I gave up both ATOMOSUREINN and my dream of becoming the top Astro Dive, decided to end it all... and went there.

Nao: I see. 

Seira: That's horrible. 

Toa: That's why they told him not to worry and keep fighting, so that Ren-kun wouldn't get depressed.

Soa: We said that... but…

Toa: But the heart doesn't work that way. Even if you try not to worry about it, you just can't forget about it.  I like the clumsiness of people like that though.

Minato: … I didn't know what else to say… Ren continued playing for ATOMOSUREINN in silence... I thought maybe time would solve the problem.

Momota: Ah, I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for him. So one mistake caused him to lose all his friends and his fans?

Yamato: Hey, don’t rub salt in his wound.

Nao: – No, you haven’t lost it all, have you? 

Seira: You have friends who put everything else aside to search for you, and your unit hasn't disbanded yet. You can still keep going. 

Minato: Of course I still want to be  with Ren and continue ATOMOSUREINN. Because Ren said so. "ATOMOSUREINN will not disband. If we disband, it will be after we are chosen as the best in the universe by Triple G."

Ren: Huh?

Sou: You said that. I remember that as well. 

Ren: …That’s right…

Minato: If you don't keep this promise, you'll be the biggest liar in the universe. I'll call you a traitor for the rest of your life. 

Ren: … That's... no good.

Sou: To think you'd forget such an important promise. You’re still the same as ever.

Ren: … Shut it.

Seira: Hey, you. Ren, right? Isn't it too early to give up after one failure or setback? No one knows what will happen in the future. 

Ren: …

Yamato: Seira-san, what would you do if you make the same mistake again?

Seira: Are you stupid? That's impossible.

Yamato: Even your words are prickly. I don’t have that confidence.

Kei: Well at MiKe Studio, it seems like the people here are all repeating the same mistakes no matter how much I preach to them. Despite that, I’m sure there are people that will support them, just like how Ren-kun is being supported by those two now. 

Nao: So, what are you going to do? Continue Astro Dive? Or quit?

Ren: I…

Minato: Whoa! What’s that sound?!

Sou: It sounds like something crashed. Maybe there was an accident outside?

Kei: This… no way...! MiKe Studio Garage

Momota: Wow~... Looks like a car crashed into the garage shutter. It's a mess!

Yamato: So the car and the shutter are both dead? That's bad.

Kei: Kazuki-san! What’s the meaning of this?

Kazuki: Oh? Oh. This is an accident!

Kei: I can tell that much just by looking at it! 

Minato: Wait, is this alright? I mean, are the people in the car people from the studio?

Seira: Unfortunately. Those three are divers affiliated with MiKe Studio. Kazuki-san is the one holding the broken steering wheel and examining the engine, Chihiro is the one that’s frozen in fear, and Hikaru is the one laughing like a broken doll.

Chihiro: … Is this heaven or hell? Oh, I can't go to heaven. This must be a hell that looks like MiKe Studio…

Hikaru: Ah hahahahaha, I was really scared! I thought I was going to piss myself.

Kazuki: Ha ha ha! Wear a diaper next time.

Kei: Kazuki-san, please pay for the shutter repairs. You broke the door the other day too.

Kazuki: Sorry. I had some trouble while I was out and there was a fight. I ran away, but it seems the brakes on my car gave out.

Chihiro: I just wanted to go shopping. Now I know I shouldn't ask Kazuki-san for favors…

Raiden: Ahhahahaha! Oh man, this was fun! Kazuki-san! Can we go another round?

Kei: Stop it, stop it, people will die.

Kazuki: The engine won't start anymore. Will hitting it fix it? 

Sou: This is bad… I can feel my brain breaking. 

Minato: Mine already broke~.

Ren: Ah! My scooter is in pieces!

Kazuki: Seriously? Sorry, I might have turned it into collateral damage. Don’t mind it.

Minato: That's a shallow apology...!

Kazuki: But wait, you a new diver? Seems that way. Nice to meet you! Just call me The Last Big Bang on Earth, OK?

Seira: It’s not OK, Kazuki-san.

Hikaru: Oh, newbie? I'm Hikaru Raiden! I hate being poor! I like money! And ramen!

Kazuki: Hmm, no mercy for his seniors it seems. How thrilling.

Kei: So, Amaya-kun, have you found your answer yet?

Nao: It’s okay to do whatever you like.

Ren: My answer is – Ren (monologue): I decided to dream again. It was a choice made to avoid becoming the biggest liar in the universe, but maybe one day it will change into something more positive. I'm still afraid of being blamed or having someone place their hopes on me. Still, I’m moving forward. Today. I was able to say things that I hadn't been able to say before. i hung out with my 1 other friend group yesterday and it'd been so fucking long bc our schedules never matched up. i was worried it'd be weird (also considering my ex was there) but it was such a relief that we're all the same. we kinda got lost, found a random square & just sat there hdhsjdf thankfully we were actually close to a main street (which we found out by following The Distant Shop Lights). i barely drank and yet my head is killing mee

Something I noticed is interesting--you can sort of tell in the previous screenshot the lighting seems...  Not bright and sunny.

I just think it’s interesting that it’s cloud and then we get to this shot, very dark in general, you can see the extremely dark clouds in the background, the lighting in general much more washed out the way you get on a very cloudy day...  And Players, fighting for their lives against the black-and-silver Taboo Noise.

I just think that’s a really neat visual thing.

Changed up the scene with Nao and Sota, misses the sweet “totally be an entry fee for each other/play the game as many times as needed” part but I did love the way Sota tried to stop Neku from going to the Taboo Noise infested area to keep him from getting killed.  Flow of the scene works well for the shift to anime, though, so makes sense they’d change things up a bit.  Speaking of...  They cut the Tin Pin stuff, didn’t they?  Shame but it makes sense because...  I can’t see that flowing well in the anime lol.  Maybe if they made a spin-off anime only about Tin Pin Slammer...  XD

The way Neku stumbles back with that horrified gasp (seriously the sound he makes--props to the VA that conveyed the emotion of the scene so damn well), that terrified expression on his face, his entire body language of “person receiving a horrific shock” is so well executed here.

Plus, can’t really catch it with screenshots but the way the screen is shifting and sort of “shaky cam” really helps convey it 

That facial expression is so perfect, you can see him breaking.

Look, you can pinpoint the exact frame where he shatters!

Colors

It seemed as if everything was going in different speeds.

The colors he saw flashed by his eyes.

Colors full of beauty and melancholy.

Those viridian irises filled with darkness and an untrusting heart underneath.

The sky filled with an array of colors—blues, pinks, oranges, purples, and blacks. There was a red tinge to it as well but that red was more the color of blood and it was revolting.

His eyes and hair—red. It resembled the red in the sky he thoroughly hated.

With the shield hero—the one who he had believed to be a devil at first—he saw an array of colors that were not just a reminder of blood.

L’Arc grinned widely upon seeing the faint smile on the man’s face. “Kiddo! You actually smile?” He pouted when it slipped—he noticed. The flicker of emotion in those beautiful greens. He noticed.

Was he not supposed to?

It wasn’t hard to miss.

A glance to Therese.

She missed.

He didn’t think much. He was probably imagining it.

That wasn’t the only time.

Just the first.

Every time he complemented the man or pointed out an emotion other than bitter hatred or anger, he would see a flicker of emotion.

Fear? Panic?

Why? What was there to fear? To panic?

Disgust? Hate?

Why? Where were those emotions coming from?

L’Arc threw an arm over the man’s shoulders and he earned a flinch. Shattered green stared with hate and disgust, pain and fear.

Colors.

He never knew colors could come in different shades, especially the color of this man’s eyes.

Dark.

Light.

Milky.

It was all there.

All there and filled with negativity.

“Naofumi?” Flinch—not of panic or fear, but of surprise. Naofumi? Not Kiddo? A joke. Strained and forced. “Why do you look disgusted and hateful with every complement I give you?”

Tension. Scared. Fear. Panic.

“I don’t know what you mean, L’Arc.”

A frown. “Nao—“ he reached out to touch him but the man—the colorful man—pulled away. “What is wrong? Why must you pull away?”

“I don’t believe what you say.” A whisper. Breathy and almost inaudible, thrown to the wind for it to be carried away. “No one ever says that—not unless...” Green eyes—dark and cloudy, resembling a hurricane of anger and hate. “...they want something. Why must one complement me if all they use it if for their own gain? No. I wish none of it. Do not make those comments.”

Who had brought such pain to this male? “I don’t—Kiddo, I’m not wanting anything from you but your attention.” Red meet green. Complementary colors. “I want nothing in return but your attention and smiles, you have such beautiful smiles.”

Dark. Negative. “No. You want something else. I’m not going to give you—“ Red—no, pink. Pink on pale cheeks. Beautiful. Colors that were nothing but beautiful.

Pink on pink. Lips locked.

Shock, embarrassment. Unmoving.

“As I said, I wish for nothing but your attention and affection.”

Those colors—vivacious and emotional. They were there and then ripped away.

I’m sorry, Kiddo. If only there was another way.

Betrayal. Hurt. Pain. Pain! Pain! Stop! It hurts!

Red.

Horrible, revolting red.

It sprayed the salty air.

Glass jumped away, getting out of the way of the jaws of the dragon. The trio vanished.

Colors. They meant nothing.

Everything but red slipped away.

They returned not until meeting the green. Dull and bland, faded green. Unfocused.

“Kiddo?”

“L’Arc.”

“Your eyes—“

“Hideous.”

“Beautiful.”

Colors returned. Brighter green—resembling the grassy fields around. Pink on pale cheeks.

“Why? What do you want? My head on a silver platter?” Anger. Dark and stormy. Hate. Hate. It hurts. No.

“Just your attention and affection.”

Daddy Squad as Untranslatable Words

Mars: Hyggelig (Danish); "This Danish word refers to a warm, friendly, cozy, delightfully intimate moment or thing. It gives off imagery of a candlelit winter evening at home with warm blankets and maybe a bit of alcohol. While there are similar words in German (gemütlichkeit), Swedish (gemytlig) and Norwegian (hyggelig), there is no direct translation in English."

Mars is one of the nicest people on Earth. She's friendly and warm and give off all the vibes of a badass and a cinnamon roll in one person. Most of all, she's accommodating and get upset on people's behalf. Her laugh and their presence gives you that warm, nice feeling of happiness!! She reminds me of a cloudy blue sky with sun while you're lying down on the grass. Maybe that's because she also reminds me of APH Greece, hehe.

Parker: Merak (Serbian); "The Serbian word merak is a wonderful little word that refers to a feeling of bliss and the sense of oneness with the universe that comes from the simplest of pleasures. It is the pursuit of small, daily pleasures that all add up to a great sense of happiness and fulfillment."

Parker is the KING of domestic fluff. He makes fics about watching Adam Conover with your birthday or primary school love letters to your crush. It says a lot about his character. He's the kind of person to take pride and happiness in the simplest and smallest of things, and he never lets anyone ruin it for him! He is also the kind of person to be happy when his friends are happy, too. When I found out we reached 609 new messages in the group chat, he said, "I'm happy for you!"

renn: ré nao (热闹, Chinese); "The Chinese word ré nao is usually translated as "lively" or "bustling," but its true meaning goes beyond these adjectives. A place or situation that is ré nao is not only fun and lively, but also has a special vibe that makes everyone want to be there. A lively, special bar or club may be ré nao, but so might a university class or meeting with friends."

renn has that magnetic aura!! Her enthusiastic, upbeat vibes is the liveliness that entices people to her. It's never boring with her; she's fun to be around, and one of the nicest people on Earth, too. Everyone gravitates to the brightness and wonderful person that is renn.

We Could Be Heroes, Part Two

Hey everyone! So you know how when I posted part one ages ago, I said there would be a part two? Well, it’s finally here! Like part one, this takes place in an AU of my AU, where Seidou’s baseball team is actually Seidou’s hero course. Unlike part one, the characters in part two are from outside of Seidou!

For those of you new to my AU, welcome! You can find a link to the master list in the reblog if you want to go over the previous posts and fics first.

I do not own Daiya no Ace or the concept of quirks. I hope you all enjoy!

Raichi: he can create smoke and if he snaps his fingers he gets a small spark

Hero Name: Hazard

Costume: Due to the nature of his quirk, Hazard wears modified firefighter gear, in a black and gray camouflage so he blends in with his smoke; he does, however, still have the mask and oxygen tank

Ultimate Move: Hazard has different moves for a variety of situations. To begin with, he floods the area with smoke to provide cover for his heavy hitting close combat. He is often called for hostage situations that have gotten out of control, as he can modify how much smoke he creates as to not seriously harm anyone inside.

When going up against some villains, however, Hazard turns to one or two of his more dangerous moves. He can create toxic smoke, to give it a little more power, and with his sparks, he can ignite his own smoke.

Weakness: Hazard can’t breathe in his own smoke, so he’s limited time wise to his oxygen tank.

Due to the widespread harmful nature of his quirk, he’s also confined in a populated area until he has confirmation that every other hero has their own oxygen mask and that any civilians are out of the way—with few exceptions. He also has to make sure that nobody on the scene has breathing problems, such as asthma. Until he gains confirmation, Hazard is either forced to hang back or can only produce small smoke bombs in villains’ faces; he has been known to rush in with only his close combat, though.

In the event he ignites smoke, Hazard must also be careful of his own safety. He once did it by accident while first learning his quirk, which resulted in his signature ‘x’ scar on his cheek.

Umemiya: can detach his limbs and extremities, anything from as large as a leg to as small as a toe—but he cannot detach his head

Hero Name: The Delinquent Hero: Yankee

Costume: Merging both his love for baseball and his hero name, Yankee wears a New York City Yankees uniform. The sleeves and pants, however, have all been velcroed to the main body of the uniform to make his detachment and reattachment easier. Because of this, he also wears flip-flops instead of socks and cleats. 

Nao built his support items and serves as an advisor for helping him and the other Ugumori students to grow as heroes.

Ultimate Move: Due to the nature of his quirk, Yankee causes the best distractions. His best weapon, however, is his unpredictability.

Weakness: He cannot regrow limbs; they must be reattached. As such, he cannot just leave them to the mercy of villains.

You Shunshin: dimensional sight—when he concentrates, he can see other dimensions—both the physical, and the hypothetical “what if” 

Hero Name: Phantom Eye

Costume: all black, comfortable material; a pair of goggles specially made to help Phantom Eye narrow his sight and navigate between dimensions

Ultimate Move: Phantom Eye typically helps heroes such as Reaper (see part one, Rei) and Witness (see part one, Watanabe), hanging back and creating strategies based on the different possibilities he sees in the dimensions. However, if necessary, he has a move that has only failed when success was literally impossible—pushing his quirk to the limit so that he sees every dimension, every possibility, all at once, in order to choose the best one.

Weakness: If Phantom Eye uses his quirk to the fullest, he’s out of commission for the rest of the crisis. If he doesn’t, he can continue searching the dimensions for other possibilities, but by the time he finds the best one it might be too late.

Carlos: can turn any part of his skin into a mirror

Hero Name: The Mirror Hero: Flare

Costume: sneakers, flexible white pants, and no shirt

Ultimate Move: Flare gained his hero name because, at the right angle, he can use his mirrors to reflect the sun into his opponent’s eyes. He can also easily send signals to his fellow heroes.

Weakness: On a cloudy day, Flare is stuck with just mirrors. While an opponent confronted with their own reflection halts for a second, the effect doesn’t last long.

Itsuki: zippers on his joints, as well as one across his stomach

Hero Name: The Pocket Hero: Black Hole

Costume: black spandex covers his entire body, with rips/holes where his zippers are; boots with steel toes

Ultimate Move: Black Hole fights close combat, and if his opponent happens to punch or kick into a pocket, Black Hole will zip it up to trap them.

If they're small enough, he can also fit civilians into his stomach pocket. While it’s dark for them inside, they add no additional weight for him and are completely safe.

Black Hole also uses his pockets to carry anything and everything he and other heroes might possibly need, from food and water to rope and explosives.

Weakness: While Black Hole more than makes up for his physical strength with his mental strength, in the case of bigger villains, his zippers are too small to be effective.

Shirakawa: shadow control

Hero Name: Nightmare

Costume: like Black Hole, Nightmare dresses all in black spandex, though instead of boots he wears sneakers so that he can sneak up on villains

Ultimate Move: While the only shadow Nightmare can make tangible is his own, he uses that to his full advantage. In a fight, he always has someone guarding his back, and there's always someone he can send over cliffs and into burning buildings. And while no one can touch other people’s shadows, he can use them to trap villains in pitch black.

Weakness: Nightmare can’t create shadows; he is limited to the shadows that are already there. The only exception is his own, since he's made it tangible.

Mei: he can form balls of light in his hands

Hero Name: it was originally “Prince”, but he changed it to Ultra Violet when Sawamura Eijun became “King”

He hates it when people make “Plus Ultra” jokes with his name because he “graduated from Inashiro, not UA, &*##$%!”

Costume: silver spandex covered in a mix of sequins and miniature mirrors, plus goggles to protect his own vision

Ultimate Move: Flash bang. If he uses it close enough to himself, the effect is multiplied because it reflects off of his costume. However, he’s also taught himself how to pitch them in order to provide long distance support to other heroes.

These four heroes from Inashiro—Flare, Black Hole, Nightmare, and Ultra Violet—all form a terrifying team when working together. Flare’s mirrors provide Ultra Violet’s flash bangs with an incredible effect. Nightmare is able to wrap Black Hole’s opponents in complete darkness, making it easier for him to trap them with his zippers. Ultra Violet’s flash bangs also gain power when used within Nightmare’s shadows.

Weakness: Ultra Violet finds it hard to work with anyone outside of his team from Inashiro.

In the event that his flash bang fails, he only has a little bit of close combat skills to fall back on.

A Charm to Protect You

Geralt settled on the floor between your legs, back against the bed you were seated on. You hummed a low tune under your breath as you reached to the side, picking up the comb you had set on the blanket earlier. Gently, you started to pull the teeth through his wet hair, carefully detangling the knots that had formed from when you had washed his hair. He let out a low sigh as your fingers ran through the strands, spreading an oil through the silver locks to help keep them soft and healthy. 

Wiping your hands on a towel, you moved to his shoulders, kneading at the muscles that had grown tense from his hunt. You teased at the knots, mercilessly rubbing at them as you released the tension from your lover’s shoulders. The man in front of you groaned as you worked, hands moving from his shoulders down into his upper arms, chasing the knots into the limb. His fingers wrapped around your ankles, just resting there as he basked in your presence.

As he went boneless against you, you wrapped your arms around him, inhaling his scent that was so distinctively Geralt. You leaned into him, enjoying the feeling of solid muscle beneath you. You felt him reach up, hand running through your hair as he relaxed further into your touch, head leaning back to rest against your stomach. You tucked your face into his neck, content with the man in your embrace.

“Love?” his voice rumbled quietly through the room. You acknowledge him with a gentle hum, your voices the only other side in the room aside from the fireplace that crackled cheerily in the corner. Sitting back up, you place your fingers against his forehead, working at the fine muscles in his temples as his eyes fluttered closed, a sigh escaping his lips. 

“Would you redo my warrior’s braid? I think it was ripped during my hunt today.” His voice was hesitant, not sure if he could ask for this favour. The village you came from had a tradition of braiding a lock from your hair into your lover’s, a symbol of protection for the warriors who fought for their families. You smiled gently, dropping a kiss onto his forehead as you sat back, nudging him forward gently so you could escape from behind him. You could feel his eyes follow you as you crossed the room, collecting various items as you went. 

As you returned to him, he sat slightly higher, leaning forward to let you back to your original position, setting your items on the bed next to you. You reached up to your own hair, selecting a long strand before wrapping a small ribbon on either end to hold it together. You grabbed a pair of scissors, easily cutting the lock from your head before setting both on the bed. 

You gathered a small plait of hair starting at Geralt’s right temple, hands deftly braiding it as your voice rose in song. You sang an old prayer from your people, asking that the gods protect this man in front of you, to keep him safe, to guide his sword, and to lead him home when his task was done. As you reached the second verse, you wrapped another ribbon around the completed braid, allowing it to hang free as you reached for your severed lock, bringing it to Geralt’s left temple, adding it to the hair you had gathered into your hand.

Your Y/H/C hair was a stark contrast against the Witcher’s silver, shining brightly in the light from the fire. You completed the braid, finishing the strand with another ribbon. Your voice rising in the final verse, you gathered the two completed braids, and using a third ribbon, you secured them at the crown of his head, letting the strands fall with the rest of his hair. As you fell silent, your hands stilled as you rested them on your lover’s shoulders, a single tear rolling down your face. 

Geralt leaned forward, gently shifting his body so he was on his knees, facing you as he gently thumbed the tear away, pressing a chaste kiss against your lips. You scrunch your eyes closed, breath trembling as you fight to control yourself. The man gathers you into his arms, lifting you as he makes his way over to the rug in front of the fire, lowering both of you to the floor. Calming yourself, you smile up at him gently as he lays down, opening his arms in invitation. You nestle yourself into his chest, resting your head on his shoulder as you relax into his embrace. He dropped a kiss into your hair before resting his chain against you, eyes closing as the two of you were lulled into sleep by the fire’s warm embrace.

Tropical Rain

Today, the midmorning sun dressed in a midday garb. Until an hour and 45 minutes ago, the sultry weather was such that it smothered people until they dozed off and withered away. Cloudy, mirror-like vessels, while rendering the buildings below, were sailing the great blue sedately. The sky blanched. The water's heft shattered the white sky like glass; its pieces, puddles, and its shards are still pelting house roofs and overflowing streets. Will the rain let up soon?

The truth is it’s years since you’ve been home. Since then, there have been other oceans, some you tell him about, and some you don’t. You still remember how every bone in your body thrummed when you hit the water. You came back up with a mouth full of salt to the sound of a dozen voices shouting your name, and for days after that you could feel the ground rocking under your feet like a moored boat.
