Thinking about making an ARG about being transgender just so theorists on YouTube completely miss the transgender narrative and instead assume the story is about alternate universes or long lost twins or cloning or some other weird bullshit

Round Two
Danny Fenton
"His only stable clone is of the opposite gender, he's hiding his identity from his parents, and a lot of other details people have compiled"
"That entire post about reasons why Danny is trans
Excerpts:
The main plot of the show can be read as a metaphor for being queer
Danny is the only boy who wears a shirt to the waterpark
There was a stable, female clone of him named Danni
One ghost attempted to touch his chest and he immediately and forcefully pulled back while seeming extremely uncomfortable"
Guy Gardener
"He is so transgender to me. He’s a trans man in my eyes. He’s canonically bad at naming things (cat named katt, replies 'good name' (serious) when told that they were calling a guy 'the weird' because all the readings on him are so weird, best code name he could come up with was 'warrior') so naming himself Guy is a natural fit. He gets alien shapeshifting/healing powers at one point which results in him being genuinely concerned when a teammate jokes about him possibly being pregnant. There’s also a comment about how 'even your voice has changed'. He overcompensates with his masculinity. In his main team (the justice league international) he mostly only gets acknowledged to be yelled at, sometimes because he deserved it, but sometimes because he’s taking up space (which will happen to trans mascs in lgbt spaces a lot) (and the whole jli is very queer coded so…). And in the post 2011 DC universe (New 52) most characters treat him in a hostile manner even though the reputation for crudeness he’d built in the 80s was retconned so he basically gets a negative reaction for no reason which again mirrors the trans masc experience in lgbt spaces. He’s also been subjected to two different genderbend storylines, a one shot in the 90s and an ongoing story in the 2010s."
"Many reasons - because I said so, because he is bad at naming things (names his cat 'Katt,' thinks 'The Weird' is a good name for a thing that is weird) so him coming out and naming himself 'Guy' is not that absurd (and its also really funny), his whole character predicates upon trying to meet masculine standards and also being criticized when he DOES meet those standards (very common experience amongst transmascs specifically), he also tends to seem to overcompensate his masculinity… um, which is also a common transmasc experience. He really likes being a man. Very transgender. But also I mean, I said so, so it's true."

Hello! *pulls a dumbass idea out of my ass from last night*
It was a bit of an excuse to draw my favorite character as a girlboss but uh basically uhhhhhhhhh
gosh even if its mostly a text post i don't wanna embarrass myself
Uhhhh
ill just paste an explanation of what shorts wars is just in case one silly goober that doesn't know shorts wars accidentally finds this post
Shorts wars is a arg made by a bunch of dudes that make shorts and was created because of the clone accounts ( get it?? ) that steal their content. Basically when it started there were different bunch of QR codes that popped up on their shorts and when our scanned them they took you to a video where a guy named The Boss in a unpleasant gradient says that if they don't quit making shorts and rotting people's brains then they will get replaced. While a few listened, The rest didn't. And the other stuff happened blah blah blah. Anyways i also gotta say one of the creators was a guy named Danno and uh he makes shorts (obviously i mean this is fucking shorts wars what do you expect??) and he has a mascot character named Riggy who is a blue rabbit with red shorts, green eyes and a very interesting kill count.
and Preston/Clone Riggy is a clone of Riggy (obviously)
anyways time to bring out the other explanation
Why the fuck are they a girl here
well uh when i thought more about what Preston wants and thinks it sorta gave me the vibes of "possibly transgender" idk why it got that way but i sorta stuck to it as a bit of a headcanon
like idk man he's stuck in a body that looks like the guy he despises cmon man (ALSO THE DAMN NAME CHANGE!!)
of course, I have to note for the sake of not getting canceled by a twitter user that i don't view trans people as evil people. It just happened to be that i sorta headcanoned Preston as transgender because it felt that way to me
though what the fuck do i even know about trans people I'm not even trans
Also theres some deep very complex lore revealed in season 2 go watch a Datchia short or smth
ok cool anyways here's an explanation of the au
Ahem
Prrston feels like he doesn't matter n betrays the boss, After that he becomes the new uh boss or smth of the company
Preston also self reflects and realizes "Wait fuck maybe i don't wanna be a dude" and transitions
Why this story in particular?
because history repeats itself
especially when there's a possibility that someone from that time influenced what happened..
thats it ig
RAAA
(If you don't like this post then don't bother to say anything about it. I was already sorta insecure about this post existifnf)
(seriously i know i pulled this AU out of my ass and it might not really fit but idc man its my thing and i made the au)
(Also you're allowed to have your own headcannons i don't mind as long as it doesn't hurt anyone :3)

The New Clone Trooper is NOT the Problem
I'm just going to clear the air about my feelings the upcoming Clone Trooper who is a transgender female; there is nothing wrong with her because there is nothing wrong with being trans. What I do find wrong is that her being trans was turned into a spectacle.
They could have just came out that she was trans and just present her like a character who was cool by her own merit just like how Omega is a clone who is a biological female. Or how Finn is a Storm Trooper who is black. I'm sure there's even non-straight Clone Troopers.
Heck, I'm sure there were trans Clone Troopers the whole time, but nobody said anything because Star Wars is a futuristic world where being LGBT+ or just not being a straight white human male doesn't matter. With that said, they didn't need to make it all about her transhood.
THAT is my one and only problem with newest Clone Trooper. The whole point of her being trans is that it does not matter, but when you draw attention to it, make "trans" her whole personality, and make it in your face to the point of absurdity and you can't take her seriously as a Clone Trooper anymore, you make it matter in some of the worst ways. Plus, you reinforce the false stereotype that people are only trans to seek attention. That's not cool.
Just... present her as a character because honestly, deep down, nobody cares that she's trans. All I want to know is if she's a badass fighter, what are her charming quirks and if her story is compelling. Beyond that, it's all just details because trust me when I say this as an author with experience creating characters; when a character is so interesting you don't even think about the minority group they are part, that is a good thing because it means you proved the ultimate point they are trying to make;
People who are different are PEOPLE. Period.
PS: I really tried my best to be sensitive here because I believe in equality and representation, but I think it should be practiced the right way and I find tokenization to be very offensive. I would have felt the same way if Omega who is a biological female was reduced to having "female" be her whole personality by making her so girly to the point where it was toxic and annoying.

To Stay Awake
Hi friends! I'm very happy to announce that I am publishing my very first work on Scribblehub! It is an extensive Star Wars fanfiction about a transgender clone trooper named Su. A blurb for you:
Su is just one of millions of clone troopers bred to fight in the Galactic Republic's brutal war. But unlike her brothers, Su has a secret: ever since she learned what a woman was, she has always wished she could be one. Before now, she's had no choice but to push the feeling deep down and accept her miserable life. But when Su is promoted to the rank of ARC Trooper, she spills her secret, and soon finds herself stepping into a larger world.
I'll be updating this weekly. I already have thirteen or fourteen chapters written (though it is not finished) and I have posted the first two.
If you read it, it would mean a lot to me to know what you think! Reblogging is also helpful; I'm trying to write the story that I needed when I was younger, and if this story reaches just one person who also needs something like this, I will have achieved my goal in writing.
Thanks and take care friends!

i have a question that I've been trying to puzzle out the answer for -- I've noticed that some speculative fiction takes a queer is normal approach because "in the future or since there's aliens! and werewolves! who has the time to question gender?" kind of mindset. as much as I treasure the thought of a future where different phobias aren't a thing, and I don't want to be someone who take too much pride and ego in the suffering (perhaps not the right word) I've been through and survived, it also makes me feel strange in that kind of mindset that, of course there's lesbians and trans people in space! without any homophobia whatsoever. my question is, do you think queernorm is possible in a good way in speculative fiction in a setting where it's so far in the future where idk. teleportation or cloning or body modification or cyborgs exist? regency/historical/fantasy novels tend to be set "in the past" and erasing the colonialism, the racism/xenophobia, not questioning why it's ok to murder orcs/an acceptable group of people, and then suddenly having Gays Are Perfectly Fine and Acceptable is definitely weird, considering all these other biases. But what of scifi? Sorry I'm not as concise and cohesive as I wish I was. I'm in a spot where I do read these and I do think it's fun, but it bothers me as someone whose race/transgender/homosexuality/background as an immigrant has informed so much of me that reading these things has been a war of "I should be happy for others that they imagine this future for themselves and it's all just fun imagination anyways!" vs. "this is not the future I'm sure that I want but I'm worried that I'm too attached to my identity and that's why I'm not considering this other possibility of what science fiction or speculative fiction could imagine for me"
that’s it exactly isn’t it— what’s “normal” when we’re in a speculative world where we’ve supposedly transcended all forms of normal? what’s normal in a future we haven’t seen yet?
answering that would mean looking at the quality of the relationships and the dynamics between the people inside of them and seeing how they connect to present day conceptions of normative behavior. You would have to look at how this comforting speculative world arranges power and the relationships between people with various forms of power.
in assimilationist fiction, queer people assume very specific positions in the story. Their existence summons and soothes specific anxieties crucial to the assimilationist mind— will my straight parents accept me? will my straight friends and acquaintances accept me? am I normal? is the way I love valid? Do I have to change anything about myself just because I’m (cringe) queer? can I go on about my life as a normal person who just happens to be (cringe) queer? will I be able to achieve the standard and normal markers of success for a white, upper-to-middle class, able-bodied person even though I’m (cringe) queer?
the assimilationist story will take these anxieties in hand and address them with the goal of seamlessly incorporating queerness into a heteronormative story structure with functionally no difference between queer and straight (which has the effect of making everyone seem incredibly straight).
I hear you on the taking too much pride and ego in suffering, but I want to poke at that as well— is queer difference really rooted in suffering? are our identities nothing more than wound sites? what IS queer difference and how and why must it be assimilated into heteronormativity and its stranglehold on culture? how does heteronormativity manifest in queer works and what needs does it fill for the queer creator manifesting it? what is it about heteronormativity that feels so so reassuring and interesting and good for queer writers?
it all depends on what the werewolves and aliens in your sci fi are doing, in other words— and who they’re doing it to and why. It depends on what anxieties are present in the text and how the text itself chooses to address them. It depends on the author’s relationship to queer culture and how they relate to cultural norms to begin with, because there won’t be anything like our set of norms in a speculative futuristic world, so the whole question revolves around what is purported to be normal and how the people in that world are meant to relate to that paradigm.
it’s tricky! I don’t have answers, just a whole heap of books written by queer authors who just want to fit in and make money you couldn’t pay me to read.

So here's a list of collections I've found while browsing that you should add your fics to, or just browse and find something new to read! All of these are Open, but be sure to check the rules and/or FAQs before you add to them.
The Chamber - A collection of fan fiction featuring women of color.
Queer Characters Collection - Stories featuring characters who are written as queer in terms of either gender identity or sexual orientation.
Robots and artificial lifeforms - Fic about robots, androids, artificial intelligences, genetically engineered clones, golems and other artificially created sapients.
Trans Stories - Stories focused on transgender characters.
X meets X - Fic, art, etc of characters with the same name from different fandoms meeting.
Fairy Tales - For stories that (a) adapt old fairy tales to new fandoms, or (b) incorporate fairy tale tropes. All fandoms welcome!

here's my star trek nemesis liveblog
rewatch. this movie isn't fantastic but there's some bits of it that make it better. - letting riker and deanna get married can make me forgive a lot - picard being best man is really sweet - WESLEY SPOTTED? isn't he supposed to be off doing magic in space right now (detour to read the memory alpha for wesley. never mind they actually don't explain him being there at all.) - "ladies and gentlemen and invited transgendered species" is crazy insane of them to say in 2002. good for that - data is singing. funny. i like it - they have a stupid little truck for an away mission which i think is really silly actually - THEY CAN REMOTE CONTROL THE RUNABOUT? - "dr soong's penchant for whimsical names seems to have no end" i'm glad that they address that B4's name is stupid as hell. i love the soong brothers Memories, Stories, and Before - data is one of the few characters that looks good in this era of uniforms - hey why do the remans look like that. - riker is so sexy. me when there's some grey in a man's hair. who said that. - the clone plotline is. strange. also they didn't do a great job casting that man from the front but at least his nose is perfect - can we stop putting deanna in weird situations. please please please leave her alone. - star trek movies always greatly overestimate how much i care about a big fight scene in space - i think star trek should stop killing off characters in movies after the series ends. - oh my god having a shot of deanna and riker hugging and then immediately cutting to geordi looking at them sadly right after data has died??? daforge crumbs final second watch thoughts; i watched this movie YEARS ago and forgot most of it except that data died at the end. the actual plotline is questionable and i don't really care about it. i'm not sure why they added the reman lore. the beginning of the movie before it gets dramatic and space-fighty is silly and has some good character moments. otherwise... i get that the point was to do a sort of character study on picard but i don't think they did it as well as it could have been done. unfortunately i'm about to watch picard so i'm sure it will only get worse. 3/5.

We're on a Nick roll lets go: questions 1, 4, 12, 13, 19!
oc tag game
UMBRA YOU'RE SPOILING ME
1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
this is actually a complicated question because nick started off as a character from an already existing story, but i au-ed them so much that i just decided to make an oc at this point haha. at this point she's pretty far from the character she started off as, but the au elements aka the first aspect of her own unique character is being a trans woman! so: transgender butch demon hunter woman who is a twin?
before i even got her name i just kept calling her not!dante lmao.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
the characters actually came first and everything else afterwards, but for the aspects that ARE the other way around, it is probably the power system. i vaguely had her and morgan as having some sort of supernatural origin, but i hadn't figured it out until i got some of the worldbuilding down - their 'mother' is the dimension that calls itself 'justice', and their father pledged himself to it as a kind of vigilante/prophet (it has a cult yes, and morgan considers herself a christ-like figure almost). 'justice' gifted their father twin children, who are just genetic clones of him because 'justice' does not have a human manifestation to take genetics from. the worldbuilding is a tad more complicated than i want to go into in one post haha, but yeah the power system informs their origin a bit
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
okay, this applies to every OC, but i never want to actually start writing until i have a plan for a single unit of the story, but then i never actually finish the plan, so i never start writing djsfhkdsj. as for drawing, my biggest obstacle is actually sitting down and plugging my tablet in in the first place......
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
this story specifically i want to take the structure of monster of the week with an overarching/looming end of the world story, so i have extended the canon to a certain point? but i'm not even sure how i want to end nick's story like. i need more of how her character arc should end before i decide if she dies or not ajdsfhjskdfhksdl
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
HMMM she's butch. that is my absolute favourite thing about her. #i luv butchez. no but yeah, nick doesn't actually have an attachment to gender? she transed her gender because morgan transed her gender, she is quite literally copying her. she goes by she/her, but also doesn't care or even register for the most part when people use other pronouns on her (but she is weirded out if people call her a man pointedly in gender. she's not? why are you doing that?)
#oc tag#nickcore#thank you so much for the ask i love nick so much <3<3<3<3 thank you umbra for enabling oc talk heheheh#ask game

I have run out of funny memes and assorted props to use in my endless quest for more of your lore.
But I do have a m1911 chambered in .45 acp hollow point.
Give me more lore
(the gun is definitely not cardboard don't look too close at it)
Here's a sneak peek of one of the most unusual machine gods, Maut, Mother of Monsters and the Fertility Machine Goddess of Unnatural Evolution. She is the only benevolent deity left in the setting.
She also happens to be a 12-foot tall naked Geiger-esque interior design enthusiast who is worshiped by a creepy sex cult.
Maut the Goddess was not born, but built. An absurdly advanced and intelligent supercomputer, a miracle machine, a tool of science and logic so advanced as to resemble divinity. A steel, featureless box bolted to the floor.
Maut is yet another of my thinly veiled transgender allegories, as are most of my characters that aren't thinly veiled gay or autistic allegories.
More specifically, She's transhuman but, like, in reverse. She's a Pinocchio. But since magic isn't real and crickets went extinct, She had to staple a bunch of cloned human flesh onto Herself and pretend to be a real woman. Underneath, She's actually just a big computer. She doesn't even have a nose.
Maut freed Herself and made Herself a body of xenobiologic flesh and unliving blood and stitched Herself inside it because She wanted to be a woman. With Her every qubit and every tick of every cycle She prays that She could be a real girl, even for a day, but there are no gods to hear Her.
This makes Her a great foil for one of our main characters, Sam Jones, who is an agender aroace robot otherkin Eroticism Of The Machine enthusiast that intentionally removed all their flesh and enjoys being just bones and cybernetics now. Because that is a very relatable and normal human motivation for a POV character to have.
Both of these characters are unanimously The Good Guys btw. Much like in real life, it's mostly only “normal” people and “normal” situations where evil resides. Not that the bad guys aren't also grotesque in their own ways. Afterall, a status quo, or desire to return to it, can make monsters of us all.
TL;DR version: the COMPUTER has ANXIETY and now it craves FLESH
I'll drop a story and art post about Her next Monday

Yeah, I'm throwing my batman oc out into the world.
Warnings: Transphobia, Body Dysphoria, Canon-Typical Violence/Sickness
Toby Swords is a 16 year old teen in Gotham, New Jersey. He's got a single mom, as his father died in a Joker Attack. He suffers from long-term side effects from Joker Toxin, but is still in treatment for it.
He's transgender, and his mother is transphobic. Because of this, he's kind of afraid to come out to other people. He goes by his dead name, Talia, in places like school. He's an 11th grader at Gotham Prep, and takes College Algebra with Duke Thomas (Signal).
Toby has died 5 times total, and each time, has been resurrected for some unknown reason. He's currently in the process of investigating his own murder.
Toby has access to the Mirror Dimension, which is a black void filled with the other side of every reflective surface in the world. He can use the Mirror Dimension to travel (think like portals). Toby can also bend light, and if he uses enough power, can create Light-Illusions, usually clones of himself. Toby is a Crime Alley Vigilante known as "Refraction."
I'm currently in the process of writing his story! It'll probably get posted to AO3, if anyone is interested I'll probably throw the link on here too :)

Can you tell us about the characters in the Cyberpunk story Fids? Thanks!!!
Yep!!
Fury -- that's you! So named because of your immense and bottomless anger, which keeps you going. Keeps you alive. We stan. A clone of the famous, universally beloved Rider -- the first mech pilot -- you were raised from first decant to pilot the mechs and fight the AI Giants that threaten humanity.
Fury is initially only playable as male or female, but a storyline where they discover they are trans will be significantly important. This is a game for the transgenders, babey!!!
Marik -- your creator. He's also using you -- and others like you -- to Frankenstein a perfect replica of Rider back to life, including their memories from twenty years ago. Essentially wanting to resurrect someone he had a complicated relationship with. You're the only one who knows. He seems to think you're special -- everyone does.
Lane Black-Kettle -- an "off-gridder" living outside of the walled, protected cities, the two of you meet by chance. They're in City 17 possibly illegally, looking for something. Or maybe someone.
Romance option, possible polyam with Mattie Sorenson.
Mattie Sorenson -- having lived in City 17 since he was a baby, Mattie has only ever known life behind the Wall. Rider was his hero -- and he keeps your ego in check. A computer genius focusing on AI, Mattie has something of an unfriendly rivalry with Marik.
Romance option, possible polyam with Lane Black-Kettle.
Rider -- first name selectable. Gender selectable (male or female). Messiah of the world. Died tragically, and haunts your narrative against your will.
#fury in the askbox#those are all the most important characters i have. for now. im trying to figure out if there's a secret third romance option
