I got Claudie’s travel set this Christmas. It’s a beautiful set. I love the little hand mirror and the soap actually has a scent. Pictured with some other things I think she would take— her velveteen rabbit and yoyo from the Christmas set, and her candy bar (which i had to hunt for separately on eBay because it was missing from my accessories set). I also love how the hair cream has a texture. It really adds to the realism.

American Girl’s next girl is Claudie, growing up during the Harlem Renaissance. Because she was released in 2022, she still doesn’t have her full collection yet. What a great fucking way to represent the jazz age, putting a little girl right in the middle of its artistic and intellectual center!

Her next book, Adventures With Claudie, is due out in June, and it is about Claudie going on a roadtrip to visit family in the south. It deals with The Great Migration and I’m sure The Green Book will make an appearance.

I am both thrilled and utterly terrified for Claudie. The 1920s are my favorite fashion era, and the Harlem Renaissance was SUCH a vibrant time when so much important culture and history was being made. Her collection could be absolutely AMAZING. Or AG could completely fuck it up, as they are wont to do. I’m gonna choose to be hopeful on this one, though. IT’S JUST SUCH A GREAT OPPORTUNITY. DON’T LET ME DOWN, AG!
