So this post introduced me to posters for Wish that I hadn't seen before and BUCKLE UP FOLKS CAUSE I'M ABOUT TO GO NUTS

REFERENCES GALOOOOORRRRE! There's Rapunzel's lanterns reflected on the water as well as her sun symbol painted on the cottage pillars, Moana's (Te Fiti's heart) spiral on the rocks to the left, a racoon and the partridges which I chose to believe are a Snow White reference (of course the racoon could be Meeko from Pocahontas, too.) The flower resembles the Sundrop flower (with the wrong amount of petals and no glow.) There's also a carving on the rocks just below the cottage, but I can't make out what the carving is. Can you?

EVEN MORE REFERENCES GALORE AND FOLKS I'M GONNA SCREAM! In Wish bubbles at the top of the screen we have: the Elephant Graveyard from The Lion King; Ariel from The Little Mermaid; an unknown for certain man standing at a ship's wheel, possibly Eric; Sleeping Beauty's dress; an unknown scene that looks like water; Be Prepared from the Lion King (the crescent moon finale); a figure with a staff or a flag, maybe Radcliffe from Pocahontas?; Gaston, flexing; and someone reaching out for what looks like the moon, sitting on something that looks vaguely like a fish (Aladdin? Quasimodo? Milo in Atlantis?)

BELOW the Wish orbs, though, we've got Disney Villain props all tossed around! At the back worktable we see Dr. Facilier's hat, next to a Sundrop flower, and a rack of antlers and fur that I'm gonna take as a Gaston reference. On the front worktable we have the Poison Apple from Snow White, some Tarot cards of Facilier's, bottled polyps from Ursula's lair, and in the stacks of scrolls below we can see Judge Claude Frollo's hat.

Aladdin's lamp and Bruno's ruana are sitting on a rock to the right, and between them are colorful bugs from The Lion King! The trees have faces which made me think of Grandmother Willow but not sure fully. Up at the top we can see a silhouette of Lumiere on one of the branches, and a racoon holds Chip the teacup! The owl and bluebirds are of course typical "princess in the forest" companions and I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but we also have Bambi and Faline (both adults) in the background! One of the chipmunks in the foreground holds a piece of broken green stone like the kind that stores Bruno's visions, right above a turtle that I'm certain is a Snow White reference! Also, the flowers covered in visible dewdrops as well as the mushrooms remind me of "The Nutcracker Suite" animations in Fantasia!

And last (and with the least references I could find,) on the left we have one of Belle's books sitting on the steps! A farmer with the giant pumpkin that might have been Cinderella's carriage has just gone past in the background, and Simba's symbol from The Lion King can be seen on the opposite side of the steps, close to the yellow pinwheel. The two children are sitting on a pirate ship under two stars... maybe the Second Star to the Right? The last woman on the right has a pattern on her vase that I can't quite make out, and Valentino has a dandelion in his mouth (my first impression is the dandelions that Belle holds while singing her I Want song, but I could be wrong!)

Part 1 Ft. The (in-progress) Living Bonehilda...

Buckle up because this series will have a varying amount of long-winded explanations and timeline word-vomit... but I'm having fun, and I love lore, so I wanted to share my own. Basically, I've been working on fixing the plot holes and lore inconsistencies of some of my favorite sims in The Sims franchise, and I wanted to start with the lovely and vivacious Bonehilda. Fair disclaimer: I don't think that all the lore in the Sims is inconsistent. Some of the lore is likely ongoing or, in my opinion, intentionally vague. However, plot holes and ambiguity drive me crazy, so for my personal saves I had to eliminate speculation and create a timeline that felt clean, consistent, and interesting to me. So, with that being said... let's deep dive!

Let's start by talking about her life and death. After initial research, it became clear to me that Bonehilda would have lived around the same time as the flirty spirit Claude René Duplantier Guidry (an implied lover/admirer) and the angry, wrathful spirit Temperance (who is highly implied to be her sister), so she most likely would have been a living young adult somewhere between 1910-1920, and died somewhere in the mid to late 1930s as an adult. Why do I believe she died in adulthood, you ask? I think she likely died in adulthood because the one consistent detail across all three iterations of the game she appears in is that she is an adult skeleton, therefore it's only logical to conclude that she died in her adulthood and unfortunately never made it to elderhood.

I've seen some people argue that she is not actually dead, that she never died and did reach elderhood but just evaded death, but I disagree with this because (1) she is not an "elder" skeleton and (2) my eschatological-philosophy-inclined brain interprets eternal-life as either a divine gift or punishment. This is backed up by the fact that, normally, sims do not come back as skeletons but as spirits and living sims who do have eternal life maintain a sim form but are either occults (vampires) or have taken some elixir of life that just maintains their youthful appearance. Ergo, Bonehilda is closer to the Grim Reaper in nature and distinctly different than a previously living sim - she's a seemingly death-defying being that can be summoned from some unknown ether. Could this be the work of a curse? A sacrifice? A ritual she was involved in...willingly or unwillingly? There's no definite answer, but I do have a personal interpretation that I'll save for another day as it involves some other sims we'll take a deep dive into.

All that being said, I wanted to keep her human form consistent with this established timeline because...well...I'm kind of nuts I guess lmao. But I do like the challenge of working with "eras" in my saves because it makes the passage of time feel more realistic and deepens the interpersonal "legacy" roots that I like to create in the game.

Now let's look at her name, which I very much doubt was literally Bonehilda. I think the sims team chose her name to be a play-on-words. For example, I see a sim like Marcus "Flex" being a good example of this. I interpret "Flex" to be more of an acquired nickname due to his fitness prowess, not his actual last name (perhaps it is even a variation of a real last name like Fleck or Fletcher). That being said, after wayyyy too much thought I came to the conclusion that her first name was likely "Brunhilda," a name referencing a Germanic heroic legend, protector, and queen consort; a name that means "armed for battle" (just like our Bonehilda who protects living sims from malicious spirits). I like to think that our Brunhilda commonly just went by Hilda for short during her lifetime. The bone part, in my lore, became a moniker she was known by because, well, she's a skeleton (duh). But more than that, the likely explanation is that stories and legends about her created an unintentional game of telephone - meaning that as time went on and people told tales about her, her name morphed from the real Brun-hilda to Bone-hilda. I mean, it actually makes sense because they're so similar! Plus, I could see her embracing the nickname for its whimsy, as it's clear she has a kind heart and a good sense of humor. For simplicity though, I will continue to refer to her as Bonehilda.

Lastly, I'm going to touch on her personal appearance. We know that when she takes a "human" form (like when she showers if you add her to your household) she has an average body type, green eyes, and red hair, so I kept all those things consistent. Now, personally, when I think of Bonehilda I think of the words "lively," "spirited," and "trendsetter," so right off the bat I chose to make her hair short. Keeping up with desire to be historically-accurate, I imagine she was very into the rising women's suffrage movement of the 1900s and wasn't scared to turn some heads. Plus, I loved how bouncy and beautiful the hair looked and thought the shorter hair fit her face shape better. (It's an added bonus that I've never seen a human makeover of Bonehilda with short hair, so I thought it was a unique choice.)

In my personal lore, the Goth family was the last family she worked for before she died, and they definitely would have paid and treated her well; I've always assumed the Goths to be exceedingly progressive and far ahead of the times. (Side tangent: the Goths are consistently compared to the Landgraabs for good reason, and I've always seen this as old money versus new money, wealthy but with humanitarianism and philanthropy at the core versus wealthy with the intention of hoarding wealth at the cost of or with little regard of others and so on.) Truthfully, I could see the Goths of the early 1900s seeing Bonehilda (and any other staff that worked for them) as more like a part of the family than "paid help." That being the case, they would be generous and ethical, and Bonehilda would therefore have more freedom and means than your typical working-class single woman of the time, so she would be able to keep up with fashion trends/buy nice clothes/keep up with unique haircuts, etc.

As for her makeup - I am actually super happy with how it looks, so that likely won't change. Her blush is intense, but that's pretty accurate for the time period she lived in. I went with a paler, more natural lip than the movie-starlet red that was coming into style because I wanted her to have a demure, youthful look. I also went with a thin brow, but I do think it could be more "filled in" to suit the dramatic eyebrow look which was rising in popularity at this time. Lastly, the beautiful dress she's currently in is not staying as it reads too 1930s to me. My goal is to find an older looking maid's outfit to put her in that suits a 1915s-1920s look better.

I know this may come off like a lot of unnecessary thought and information for a seemingly silly, throwaway sim. However, I would argue that Bonehilda has appeared in 3/4 of the sims games... so as a long-running character she deserves attention and a consistent lore. As we continue this deep-dive series, she'll be connected to more of my personal favorite sims... so I'm really excited to share more with you guys!

Finally finished Claude up. Got distracted this week with reorganizing one of my work spaces. But after that I designed his jacket, gave him some ears and found buckles for the jacket. So now Claude is complete unless I suddenly decide to add a belt or keep playing with hair styles (both things may happen)

Ultimately, I think one of the worst things Hopes does wrt its writing of Claude is take out all of the complexities and contradictions that had made him so interesting to begin with.

OG Claude lies and manipulates people and closes himself off while still searching for the truth and wanting people to come together and be open with each other, because of how his traumas meld together with his dreams. He says that he'll do whatever it takes to get what he wants and shows off opportunistic tendencies and then buckles at the first sight of innocents getting hurt, because no matter how much he wants what he wants he still prioritizes the lives of the people around him over anything else. He knows of people's capacity to hurt others for petty or illogical reasons - was raised with that knowledge beating its existence into him - and yet still dreams of a world where people of different lands and cultures can still be friends, because that is how tightly he holds onto his dreams. He's a kind person with the capacity for being a dick, and his contradictions add on so much to his character; they in large part are his character.

Hopes Claude? He lies and manipulates people and closes himself off... and that's it. He says he'll do whatever it takes to get what he wants... and he does. He knows of people's capacity to hurt others for petty or illogical reasons... and has no real dreams of stopping it (or dreams of anything in the future really, by his own admission) and he indulges in that very behavior himself, seemingly without any awareness. He is untrustworthy, and manipulative, and opportunist... and that's it. What you see is what you get. And if this were a character unto themselves, if we're kind and we ignore all of the other issues with Hopes!Claude's writing, that would be a fun enough villain to follow around.

But it's not; this is supposed to be Claude. This is a character who has so much of his foundations be built on the idea that what he presents on the surface isn't all that he seems. That he's more than a character who is just "tee hee I'm only pretending to be nice but I'm actually eeeeevil evil evil evil evil evil evil," but someone who both uses kindness as a means to an end and embodies it genuinely. Warm yet calculated, a good man with real flaws - THAT is who Claude is. Hopes Claude is who Claude is if you strip him of any complexity - He Is Only Pretending To Be Good, But Actually He Is Bad.

He's just... easier to swallow, in a sense. Claude is a good person who is willing and able to do bad things, but only up to a very specific, very clear point, all for a good dream he's held onto for years and plans extensively to make a reality in the future; Clyde is a shit person who's willing to do everything short of bombing specifically whatever land he himself is ruling, all for what essentially amounts to no concrete purpose. There's no need to think about Clyde as hard, since he just does what he does because he's doing it and that's enough.

It's why I'm glad I am Dev-Approved to just fuckin' ignore Hopes entirely as a horrific fever dream, because Hopes does not understand what made Claude so lovable at all

You pressed your soft body against the side of the sun-warmed car, giving a sigh of contentment as you watched your man on the other side of his classic car, chatting with Grey about where to meet up tomorrow.

This couple's vacation was paying off in all the best ways. The night before leaving, Curtis had you give him a quick haircut, so it would have grown out just enough to be soft. Today he was wearing the most basic of outfits, a white tee, blue jeans, and his boots Since it was chilly in the evenings on the beach, he happened to be wearing his leather jacket while it was still sunny enough that dark glasses happened to cover his sensitive eyes, but the whole look together was enough to make you wish that you were very much alone on this beach like that time in Florida.

You could make him drop the front seat down and ride him in the car. Your fingers bunched in your sundress, dragging the fabric heatedly against your thigh. If only wishes would come true.

"Okay." Curtis glanced at you for a moment, finalizing the plans. "So we will meet up just before lunch." He gave a quick wave to Claude waiting in Grey's car and turned back towards you while they drove away for their date night.

You let your eyes wander once again, following the way his hands went to grasp his belt buckle, his stance going very relaxed. You snapped out of your daydreaming. "I'm surprised you wanted to wait that long to meet up tomorrow." You admitted, knowing that both Curtis and Grey had things they wanted to do as much as you and Claude did.

"Hmm, I wanted breakfast with you. In our hotel room. In our bed." His mouth curled up in a suggestive grin and you couldn't stop the drag of your teeth against your lip, now so clearly picturing Curtis's version of breakfast in bed.

It would be you spread out on the bed while he feasted between your thighs. You felt your heart quicken at the thought. As shy as you were, your gaze darting down to collect yourself, you really loved it when he couldn't get enough of you that way.

"I maybe, perhaps, might have purchased a new lingerie set."

Curtis plucked off his sunglasses so you could see the very interested heated gaze while dragging the bad of his thumb against his bottom lip while he considered what you were saying. "A new set just for me Pretty Girl?"

You nodded excitedly, ever since you found out how much Curtis liked being surprised by your outfits, you started to get bold in your lingerie choices.

"I might have to tell Grey we won't make it to lunch then." He stalked around the car you thought to open your door for you but instead, leaned in close to you and pin you against the side of the car. His hands were warm and calloused as he dragged up along the backside of your bare thighs and up under your dress to grasp your hips and lift you up suddenly.

You yelped in surprise at the motion, your legs wrapping around his waist while he perched you on the edge of the car. "One of these days you are going to hurt your back doing that." You scold but it just earns you a nipping kiss to quiet your worries.

"Honey I bench press much more than you weigh, you don't have to worry." He reminded you with a teasing brush of his fingers on your inner thighs, making you squeeze tighter around his waist. "You going to make me wait on seeing that lingerie?"

You ran a hand over his scalp to cup the back of his head, humming a bit while letting your sandal fall off a dangling foot so you could drag it against his backside. "I should make you wait. You did rip the last one."

"Honey, what if I promise to be careful this time?" He pressed heated kisses against your jawline and back to your mouth, his tongue sinfully distracting. "You are already making me so horny in your sundress." His hands were so possessive under your dress, The act of him rubbing his knuckles up and down your panty-clothed slit was already making you feel so good and throbbing with need.

"If you promise, yes." You breathed out, scratching your nails against the back of his neck to feel him shiver against you at how good it felt.

"I should take you back to the hotel for that right now." He groaned while pulling back just enough to look you up and down. You almost felt bad for the bulge pressing against the front of his blue jeans.

Almost. Mostly it just made you feel fucking attractive to cause him to get aroused.

"I should also spread you out on the Camaro's hood and just take you apart right there Pretty Girl." His blue eyes blazed hungrily and you nervously looked around at the still semi-crowded beach.

"You're joking." You squirmed and Curtis laughed while grasping back around your waist to help ease you off, dipping his head and pressing a kiss to your temple.

"I have never been more serious about wanting to do that Honey." He assured you while opening the passenger side door to let you slip in. "But how about we focus on that lingerie first? Make sure I keep my promise not to rip this set."

Richie distantly notices her vision start swimming when she stares down at the traces of pink lipstick on the silicone and Eddie on her knees between her legs. Richie pushes Eddie’s bangs out of her face and hears her hum when she swallows down around the strap. 

“I swear to god I can fucking feel it,” Richie’s voice shakes when she says it and she brushes through Eddie’s hair with her fingers again.

Eddie rolls her eyes and pulls off. Her lipstick is smeared around her mouth and a thin string of spit settles on her chin, “You cannot fucking feel it, Richie.”

Richie rubs a thumb over Eddie’s cheekbone and Eddie nuzzles into her palm, sighing gently. She looks up at Richie through her lashes, mascara starting to flake under her eyes. Prettiest girl in the world, Richie thinks. If she said as much out loud, Eddie would call her gay and keep rubbing herself against Richie like a neglected house cat anyway. Instead, she opts for trailing her thumb across Eddie’s face and over her lips. Eddie’s mouth parts, almost instinctively. 

Eddie’s not the trained one, Richie is. In some Pavlovian response to being hopelessly in love with Eddie, Richie would stop time and space to do whatever Eddie wanted. This includes letting her show off her skills as the self-proclaimed Silicone Throat Goat when Richie’s supposed to be working. 

Richie presses the pad of her thumb into Eddie’s lipstick, pushing it past her lip line and well past the corners of her mouth. She feels a heat settle in her stomach at the way Eddie’s eyes flutter shut and the sigh against the palm of her hand. For a fucking germaphobe, Eddie loves being messy. She’s covered in spit, she's got rouge across her face, and she’s shifting around on her knees, grinding against nothing getting off on sucking at the strap-on. 

Richie pushes her thumb past Eddie’s lips into her mouth and nearly buckles at the knees at the way Eddie’s tongue immediately wraps around the digit. It’s hot and wet inside her mouth and when Richie presses down on Eddie’s tongue, she can feel the slick rush of spit and the hum from her whimpering on her skin. Richie almost wishes she really did have a dick just to satiate Eddie’s oral fixation; she’d let her suck Richie off all day if that’s what she wanted. Time and time again, Eddie’s proven she does.

“You want it so bad,” Richie says under her breath. Eddie nods with Richie’s thumb still in her mouth. She sucks it down to the knuckle and Richie swears. Richie pulls her thumb out and glosses over the faded pink on Eddie’s lips with her own spit. 

“Please, Richie,” Eddie’s voice, high and thin when she pleads like this. Brat, Richie thinks. “Give me what I want.”

Richie pats her on the cheek and feeds the silicone back into Eddie’s mouth. Eddie accepts it eagerly and goes lax against Richie's hand pushing her head further down, “Yeah, anything for my girl.”

ooh wait have you played three houses?? i saw you mentioned it in one of your recent posts and i got curious. can i ask what are your thoughts on it if you have played it?

also also, have you played pokemon scarlet/violet at all? i’d really love to hear your thoughts on it, especially with its latest dlc ^^ (super sorry i’m grouping two different games in this ask, i didn’t wanna send messages back to back, but feel free to only answer one if you want!)

Oh boy, more opportunities for me the spout nonsense and my odd opinions. I will gladly take it. Buckle up, anon and others reading, because I have a long history with both franchises.

I've been playing Fire Emblem since Fire Emblem: Awakening, then Fates, Heroes, and eventually Three Houses. My take: Awakening is still the best one, but maybe I'm biased. I remember playing it and marrying Chrom on accident, whoops.

Anyways, Three Houses was alright, better than Fates but not better than Awakening. I remember it came out, and I was actually upset because I was in another country on the US release date so I didn't get to play it until I got back. Even when I saw the trailers, I knew I was Golden Deers all the way. Odd, I know, most people prefer the other teams. Claude, Hilda, Marianne, Lysithea, my dears. OH, and before I go on, I just want to say, I hate the female MC. And no, it's not what you think, I only hate her because literally why does her outfit look like that compared to the male MC? Robin from Awakening was always the better protagonist anyways.

After completing the Golden Deers route, I decided I wanted to try and complete all the routes because at that point I disliked a huge majority of the characters. I tried Blue Lions next. At first I didn't really have much of an opinion on Dimitri, but he grew on me eventually, because how could I resist such a miserable brooding man that later gets a soft spot for one person (plus his design was kinda badass)? But I will admit, his behavior immediately post-timeskip was kinda annoying. I thought I would dislike Felix, but shockingly, I didn't, I actually liked him. And you know what? Dedue is CRIMINALLY underrated, he's literally probably the nicest and loyalest dude of all time. He got some hate for his race from some characters, and I actually got heated.

After Blue Lions, I knew I had to play through Black Eagles twice if I wanted the last two routes. However, here's the thing. In both previous routes, Golden Deer and Blue Lions, I had loathed Edelgard. But, I thought to myself, I just needed to try her route and maybe I'll change my mind... Well, I was wrong. Edelgard is probably one of the characters I HATE most in any franchise. And I tried so hard to like her, like I would give her gifts and answer dialogue truthfully, only for the relationship thing to go down. Like damn, okay. I just couldn't stand her. The others in her route were mostly fine, I liked Ferdinand, Bernadetta, Caspar, and Petra. But because of Edelgard, I couldn't even finish her route once and it's still uncompleted to this day.

Now... onto Pokemon.

Fun fact, I completed Pokemon Black and White when I was in first grade and couldn't read everything. Don't ask me how I did it, because I honestly have no clue. I've played every gen since then: Black and White 2, X and Y, Sun and Moon, Ultra Sun and Moon, Sword and Shield, Arceus, Scarlet and Violet. I did indeed preorder the game when it was announced, as I have done for the generations before. Where do you think my username comes from? In most pokemon games, I love collecting shiny pokemon. Shiny.

I was hyped for Scarlet and Violet since the first day it was announced. I lost my mind the day it was first announced and eagerly waited months for it. When it came out, I dropped everything for several days. As a regular fan, I always set this tradition for myself to defeat new pokemon games within or around 24 hours and of course, I did so.

The game itself has a lot of issues, namely the glitches and quality of the frames. But, it's on the switch, so that's to be expected. It felt really rushed in that aspect. I just feel like they could do so much better if they really wanted to, like on par with BOTW or TOTK (those games have bad frames too but at least they look a lot better). As for mechanics, I really missed the mechanics from Arceus, but at least Scarlet and Violet improved upon the poor excuse of the open area that was in Sword and Shield.

Story and characterwise, I'm torn.

Here's what I like: (1) the multiple split routes, (2) certain characters.

(1) It made it feel like you really had a lot to do, and that combined with the open area of the entire map made it seem like a lot. It is a lot. So it's really fun to explore and try to complete everything. Even just walking about, you're bound to get distracted, lost, or find something completely new. I was just playing it a while ago after completing everything and there were still little secrets I didn't notice the first time around.

(2) Arven, my god, do I love a guy with mommy AND daddy issues. And he has a dog? I'm hooked. I didn't expect to get attached to him, but I did. I actually prefer his route purely because of the story within it with his companion. I didn't see that coming, and I was so worked up over it. Another character I like, Director Clavell. A good supporting professor, you love to see it. Wish he showed up more though.

Here's what I dislike: (1) the villains, (2) the gym leaders, and (3) other characters, (4) the leveling system. (5) I'll talk about the dlc last.

(1) We haven't had a good villain team in a while. Black and White was super memorable with N, X and Y's Lysandre with Team Flare was a joke, Sun and Moon's Team Skull with Guzma was actually good because they were funny and non-threatening, Sword and Shield with Team Yell was actual trash, and this Team Star being bad guys but not really bad guys was actually so boring. Let's roll it back to Team Aqua literally planning to recreate a great flood or Team Magma planning to create havoc with volcanoes, Team Plasma that wanted to liberate Pokemon, or Team Galactic that were going to harness the power of time/space/universe and their leader is trapped/died in an empty dimension. They don't make Pokemon villains like they used to, huh?

(2) The gym leaders are very forgettable this time around. Like, they don't play much of a role aside battling, and after that you don't really see them again at all. It's a shame, because some of them have potential for greater use and have really good designs. Not to mention, they were all weak as hell.

(3) The Champion was a let down. Geeta (I had to look up her name). I was iffy when I first saw images of her, I didn't like her design but I just decided to go with the flow and I'll probably change my mind. I didn't. She's as forgettable of a champion as Alder and Diantha were. At least we saw Leon in the SwSh a lot and we got to hear from characters about how strong he was. Geeta wasn't like that at all, her team was a joke. Nemona as a rival was annoying, she got on my nerves from the first few moments we met her. I think Penny had potential, but I just didn't like her.

(4) The leveling system was really annoying. What happened was, I tried to complete the other two routes first and save the gym leaders for last. However, when I did this, because I didn't have any gym badges, new pokemon caught wouldn't listen even if my other pokemon were like 20 or more levels above them. So I had to pause the other route, just to do some of the gyms that way I could actually use new pokemon. I know they tried the system to prevent people from just cheating the system by automatically getting high-leveled pokemon from friends, but it just got in the way.

(5) DLC so far... not a fan. I mean, it's something. It's there. It's a thing. But it has nothing so far that makes me like it. The rivals are meh, and the region confuses the hell out of me. I don't get why do Scarlet and Violet region of Paldea based off Spain, but then have a DLC with an island that's so very obviously based off Japan. They could've picked anything around Spain but go back to Japan when 4/9 of the regions are already supposedly based off Japan? Idk, it was kind of a let down to be honest. I haven't completed the dlc, so I still have to do that. The new map is small, but I heard the next dlc is supposed to be huge so here's to hoping that one is better?

TW: slight mention of suicide Shane is such a tragic character and i am about to go on a super long rant about it so buckle up. He’s introduced as a pretty normal teenage boy, if not a bit of a partier. Honestly, judging by the fact that his parents are old as fuck, and his brothers are both so much older than him, and his parents never seem to really care about his whereabouts and are seemingly VERY excited about sending him off to private school, I think Shane was an accident. Hey, so was Spike! And together they had another accident! Anyway… Shane is pretty much mistreated by his parents and Spike throughout the pregnancy and Emma’s early years. And then, enter everyone’s favorite bad influence- Luke fuckin Matthews (or Casellis, as he’s credited), who convinces Shane to try acid, which he assumes will be fine. WRONG. Shane jumps off a fucking bridge, which leads me to my next point. You know how Claude k1lled himself? Well, the Degrassi writers originally wanted to give the story to Shane, as a result of pressure from Spike and his aforementioned shit parents. I, and some other people theorize that the LSD clouded his judgment and he acted on his subconscious suicidal ideations. Yes, I am suggesting that his accident was a suicide attempt. Well, he doesn’t die. He is subjected to a fate, which, in my opinion, is worse than death. He becomes physically disabled and gets a TBI, and is unable to live without assistance. You might be thinking, that’s not that bad. WRONG AGAIN. His old ass parents ship him off to a mental institution where he rots for up until the next generation, and it’s implied that his family doesn’t visit him, and I don’t mean just Spike and Emma. I mean his parents and his brothers. He’s basically alone. He just made a couple bad decisions that ruined his life. I can’t remember who said it, but I read it somewhere- “His story is just not happy. And it never gets happy.”

I tried my best to incorporate both POVs but I think it leaned too Viktor-centric. However, my fav Yuuri song on here is Bravado, it captured his anxiety during the Scandal so well and I resonate with that. It was hard to pick for Viktor but One And Only really stood out to me, it reads like his plea to Yuuri. BUT if I had to choose one song to explain their dynamic it’s Untouchable, applicable for both Yuuri and Viktor and just as heartbreaking.
