Julian- I killed my father when I was 12. Then was left to be a father to 4 kids.

Magnus- My actual father is a literal prince of hell, and I killed my step father because he tried to kill me

Clary- my dad attempted genocide and experimented on me, my brother, my boyfriend and my mother

Jace- My actual dad was in a cult and left his wife for no reason. My fake dad KILLED ME

Sebastian- my dad made me a monster

Ash- I murdered my monstrous father who wanted to murder me, I fear I am like him

Izzy- my dad's affair emotionally stunted me and he wasn't there when my little brother died and I blamed myself

Alec- my dad don't accept me for who I was and was an adulterer

Tessa- My bio father is a prince of hell and tried to take my children and take over the world. My step father got involved with mortmain-, resulting in the rape of his wife

Malcom- my adoptive father murdered the woman I love, who was also his daughter

Jem- I watched my father tortured to death in front of me when I was a child.

I'm okay with AU and fusion though (so I can have Teen Wolf characters in a Hogwarts AU but they won't be meeting Hermione is all I'm saying).

Once upon a time, I drew art of The Mortal Instruments series. Long before both the movie and the Shadowhunters show for sure. The first book had come out and my best friend told me “Omg you have to read this”. And I did. And it was amazing. I want to do a complete re-read from City of Bones at some point and I know it’ll feel like coming home.

I do so love how 12 years can give such a quantifiable difference in ability. I obviously changed a few things, but I tried to keep it overall similar. I will say drawing this in digital was a much more easier and gratifying experience than the original pen and ink with marker… For one thing there’s an undo button, lol.
