July 2, 1962 – Crash-out on Condemned Row (Almost).
July 2, 1962 was supposed to be a quiet day on San Quentin’s Condemned Row. Securely lodged on the top floor of North Block, California’s condemned were expecting a summer’s day as bleak, depressing and dull as any other. So were the Condemned Row officers whose job it was to keep them under control. With a few dishonourable exceptions, they were wrong. Almost a month had passed since multiple…

Updated photos of the three inmates who escaped from Alcatraz on June 11, 1962 and were never heard from again. The government and Alcatraz officials would like you to think these men died in the bitter cold water, but a letter from one, and a postcard from another sent over 10 years later makes it look like they lived after their escape. The most credible proof was a photo taken in 1975 by a childhood friend of the Anglin brothers when they were last seen in a bar in Brazil. The FBI still hasn't given up looking for them even though each would be between 90 and 100 years old. Frank Lee Morris born September 1, 1926. John William Anglin, born May 2, 1930. Clarence Anglin, born May 11, 1931.

*SPOILERS*
Oh my freaking god, is Casey Frank Morris?! 😨
Okay, I had to look this up to be actually sure and yeah, I think this is the Alcatraz escape attempt in June 1962. Casey's a prisoner in Alcatraz called Frank. One of the other guys is called John according to the subtitles. So, that has to mean that Casey is Frank Morris before the TVA, and the other two guys are Clarence and John Anglin. It's the June 1962 Alcatraz escape attempt.
Honestly, I was NOT expecting that to be Casey's past life at all! Wonder what happened to make him be taken away to work at the TVA.

Escape from Alcatraz (1979)
From The Shawshank Redemption to The Great Escape, stories of innocent or righteous people scratching together the means to regain their freedom is both captivating and emotional. Unlike most films, Escape from Alcatraz doesn’t “cheat” by giving us a softie of a protagonist. Without a doubt, the people in this film deserve to be jailed. Ultimately, you don't care because of the ingenuity in their plan and the fact that it’s based on a real-life story. Tense all the way through and with a terrific ending, it’s one of the best prison escape films.
In early 1960, Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood) is sentenced to the maximum security prison on Alcatraz Island. Having escaped capture many times, Frank is undeterred by the exceedingly high security measures and strict warden (Patrick McGoohan) who assures him no one’s ever made it out.
Alcatraz isn’t merely a prison; it’s a hell hole. While there are some who certainly deserve everything the guards and warden throw at the inmates, such as a rapist called Wolf (Bruce M. Fischer), many of the prisoners are sympathetic; victims of an unfair system (Paul Benjamin is serving dual life sentences for killing two white men in self-defence) or clearly reformed by the time we meet them. Alcatraz doesn’t see it that way. The objective is not to rehabilitate. It’s to make lives miserable. In fact, the warden makes a point to punish those he oversees based on how he feels about them rather than the way the justice system sees them. He’s not a cartoon but his smugness means he deserves to be knocked down a peg. That’s where Morris comes in. The odds are stacked against our protagonist. It’ll take inhuman levels of ingenuity to escape from the prison. Some of his tactics are so wild, it’ll make you feel like a moron. You think the operation will be as simple as Morris, his accomplices John and Clarence Anglin (Fred Ward and Jack Thibeau) and the fourth conspirator, Charley Butts (Larry Hankin) stealing a power tool to break through the bars at night but no. They’re going to have to MAKE the tools they need - out of nothing.
The space the escapees have to maneuver in is so tight, you’re constantly wondering what will go wrong. Clever as it might be, their plan is literally put together with bits of loose paper, paint, and mud. It just barely crosses the line into doable and the tiniest detail out of place will make the whole thing fall apart. While there might not be anything that prevents them from trying again should they fail, so much effort is being put into this attempt you can’t bear the idea of it failing. You want to see the phases work just so you can see what to see what comes next.
It’s probably better that you don’t know beforehand what actually happened on the night of June 11, 1962. The FBI’s position on the events are clear and unfortunately, they don’t make for a cinematic ending. This is where the film proves to be as ingenious as its protagonist. It’s a terrific final note.
Escape from Alcatraz deftly maneuvers over the obstacles it might’ve faced to deliver wall-to-wall thrills. Against all odds, you like the characters. You like them even more when you see what kind of plan they’ve got cooked up and you can’t wait to see it executed. It's one of these stories that's so wild it HAS to be true, which makes it a real nail-biter. (March 27, 2020)

Unraveling the Enigma: The Alcatraz Escape of 1962
Alcatraz Island, situated like a forbidding sentinel in the frigid waters of San Francisco Bay, held within its formidable walls some of America's most notorious criminals. Yet, on June 11, 1962, the supposedly impregnable fortress was breached as three inmates executed a daring escape, leaving behind dummy heads in their beds to deceive the guards.
Frank Morris, a cunning mastermind, along with brothers John and Clarence Anglin, meticulously planned their audacious bid for freedom over six grueling months. Using makeshift tools crafted from everyday objects, they chipped away at ventilation ducts, carving a narrow pathway to liberty. Their meticulously crafted dummy heads, adorned with real hair and painted with flesh tones, successfully fooled the guards during their nightly rounds.
Under cover of darkness, the trio slipped through the labyrinthine corridors, emerging into the chilly embrace of San Francisco Bay. Their makeshift raft, fashioned from raincoats and life jackets, was their only hope of navigating the treacherous waters to reach Angel Island in the distance.
The discovery of the dummy heads the following morning sparked a frantic search, but despite exhaustive efforts by the FBI, no trace of the escapees was ever found. Officially declared presumed drowned, the fate of Morris, and the Anglin brothers remains shrouded in mystery.
Rumors and sightings, along with tantalizing letters hinting at their survival, have kept the legend alive. The Alcatraz escape of 1962 endures as one of history's most captivating mysteries, testament to the enduring spirit of human ingenuity and the allure of the unknown.

I’ve learned a new fact! Allen West was not able to escape from Alcatraz because the hole he dug out for his vent wasn’t wide enough — but he did it on purpose. He worried that if he picked away too much, he wouldn’t be able to conceal it and would get caught. He figured he’d be able to kick it open easily enough in the night of the escape, but he couldn’t. His accomplices, Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin, had dug wide enough holes, and were therefore able to escape.

Ok I need someone to know that Casey isn’t just a hardened criminal, he’s Frank FUCKING Morris!!!
No one was ever known to have escaped Alcatraz but him and his accomplices, Clarence and John Anglin (they said Clarence’s name that’s how you know it’s really him) THEY came the closest. They created fake heads out of plaster, cloth, and paint, and dug out an escape hatch, and took a raft. The raft washed ashore later with some of their personal effects still inside, so it’s believed that they drowned, but their bodies were never recovered. So some theorists believe they might have escaped after all.
That was probably Casey’s nexus event!! Maybe he was supposed to die, or maybe he was supposed to survive, but either way he’s not just a criminal, he’s one of the most infamous escape artists in history! He was the mastermind behin the whole operation!
casey being a hardened criminal and possibly kleptomaniac after being so wholesome was HILARIOUS, no notes, amazing
B 15 being a doctor?? and her being so soft and kind to that kid?? I love her, she's the best, 10/10 expected but happy
O.B. being a failed writer but also an intelliget physicist working in Caltech is AMAZING, ties in greatly with his character
MOBIUS BEING A SINGLE DAD AAAAAHHHHH HE'S SO SWEET AND KIND AND SOFT WITH HIS BOYS, LOVES HIS DEAD WIFE DESPITE HAVING MOVED ON, KIND TO LITERALLY EVERYONE ONCE AGAIN, EVEN TO LOKI WHO HE JUST MET. I'M SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP FALLING TO THE GROUND ROLLING ON THE FLOOR
Sylvie back working in McDonald's and being a regular at both the bar and a records store, yeah that's definitely so her
#I just. I need someone to know how fucking cool Casey is actually#loki season 2 spoilers#like he was cool before but wow#also he’s the inspiration for a Poptropica story#and yea#his original arrest was for robbing a bank lmao

Greetings, and Salutations.
I’m Bo, and i’m hoping to build a fandom for The Alcatraz Escape. A lot of the info is in my bio. I’m not trying to sexualise anything, neither do i condone. but i do praise them for the time and effort put into the escape. i wouldn’t mind making a group chat, maybe a discord server, and discussing theories or sharing thoughts about them. you can write fanfiction, draw them, cosplay, all of that here please. you dont have to, you can share theories and thoughts, or do both. i dont own the plans, the inmates, the ideas they came up with, or Alcatraz. i hope this goes well, Bo. :)

Frank Morris, Clarence Anglin, John Anglin (Vanished from Alcatraz) On June 11, 1962, Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin carried out one of the most intricate escapes ever devised. Behind the prisoners' cells in Cell Block B (where the escapees were interned) was an unguarded 3-foot (0.91 m) wide utility corridor. The prisoners chiselled away the moisture-damaged concrete from around an air vent leading to this corridor, using tools such as a metal spoon soldered with silver from a dime and an electric drill improvised from a stolen vacuum cleaner motor. The noise was disguised by accordions played during music hour, and the progress was concealed by false walls which, in the dark recesses of the cells, fooled the guards. The escape route led up through a fan vent; the prisoners removed the fan and motor, replacing them with a steel grill and leaving a shaft large enough for a prisoner to enter. Stealing a carborundum abrasive cord from the prison workshop, the prisoners then removed the rivets from the grill. In their beds, they placed papier-mâché dummies made with human hair stolen from the barbershop. The escapees also constructed an inflatable raft over many weeks from over 50 stolen raincoats, which they prepared on the top of the cellblock, concealed from the guards by sheets which had been put up over the sides. They escaped through a vent in the roof and departed Alcatraz. The official report on the escape concludes that the prisoners drowned in the cold waters of the bay while trying to reach the mainland, it being unlikely that they made it the 1.25 miles to shore due to the strong ocean currents and the cold sea water temperatures ranging between 50 and 55 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the U.S. Marshals Service still lists the escapees as wanted fugitives and have "Wanted" posters for each man.

This post is joking but tell me that cat doesn’t have the face of Clarence Anglin (the dude in the middle)
i got one of those self cleaning litter boxes a few months ago and while Yoohoo is pretty good at using it he does NOT like the sound the poop rake makes when it moves. now the thing about this litterbox is that it can detect movement and won’t activate itself until about ten minutes after the cat has vacated it. yoohoo has apparently figured out that if he makes a huge vaguely cat sized pile of litter right in the middle he can fool the litterbox into thinking it is still occupied and the poop rake will never activate. this is the third time i have had to destroy his carefully constructed poop decoy and i would officially like to trade in my cat for an otherwise identical but noticeably stupider one, incapable of pulling these ferris beuller shenanigans on me each morning
#I’m sorry op but ur cat is apparently the actual reincarnation of Clarence Anglin#my condolences#the head tilt is even the same???
