hi!! long ask incoming bc uh.
i was bored, so tried to translate an entire prophecy i wrote like three years ago into clanmew!
very sure that i made mistakes (i mean it starts with me constructing complicated sentences when there’s only been a guide on simple ones-) but i still wanted to share what i came up with and am hoping for some corrections if that isn’t too much work.
original english prophecy: ‘‘Six cats and their followers will come, with blood of every clan rank. When the reed with its leaves will echo over the moor through the wings of fog, a gathering will come true. The newly reformed clans will be destroyed and quiet will be brought when the shadows leave.’’
my attempt at the literal clanmew to english translation: ‘‘StarClan-says in-service-of entire ranks five-and-one cats and many clanmateness-contains cats they-rogue-walked. What-if stalk it-powerful-object-owns leaf under small cloud it-powerful-object-owns feathered-wing over territory they-powerful-object-fly? StarClan-says bad-battle entire cats they-rogue-fight. What-if shadow they-powerful/dangerous-object-leaves? StarClan-says no bad-battles and no good-battles.’’
clanmew: ‘‘Ssoen pos ul gorrl rarra om owar rriu om pabparra urriuwang-gryyr rriu mwrrspappap. Hassayyr kaskir ssaswrah russ wowareh eeb hai ssaswrah beof wowa upanna pyrrsfbafbab? Ssoen nyyryakorrl ul gorrl mwrrsarrlkatchyam. Hassayyr washa ssasyorru? Ssoen nyar nyyryakorrl om nyar shemyakorrl.’’
gonna give you part of my thought process behind this,, well i don’t know how to construct complicated sentences in clanmew (a shame fr) so i just. guessed on the placing of stuff? e.g. the ‘in-service-of entire rank’ bit. generally i mostly struggled with that first damn sentence bc it’s very hard to make it simple. i hope it’s clear that ‘clanmateness-contains cat’ is described like that in relation to the six other cats, those many cats are followers of the six cats, not the pre-existing clancats. also, i chose the pronouns for rogues and the like because in my story the medic who receives the prophecy frames the prophecy cats as bad/evil on purpose, so it’d only make sense to insult them. then i struggled with fog... because there’s no word for that now. decided to substitude with small cloud. thought about big cloud = storm cloud, (average) cloud = normal cloud, small cloud = fog or something. anyways i purposefully chose the pronouns for powerful objects because those words are describing the cats the prophecies are about, and the prophecy cats are obviously very important. I had to change so much about the last sentence to capture what it means but i believe i did a good job at that. ‘There will be a bad battle between all cats. What if the shadows are defeated? There won’t be any bad battles nor will there be any good ones.’ since there were no words for peace/quiet/anything of the like. again, shadow has the powerful/dangerous pronoun because it’s a metaphor for something bad. i think that’s everything worth noting down? i hope?
well. i spent two hours on translating this prophecy, but it was very fun. i just hope there aren’t too many mistakes, tho to be fair i went for something that’s pretty hard to translate asghjfhf
This is incredibly in-depth and I'm absolutely blown away, @troutfur wrote up a line-by-line commentary on the whole thing, and I made a bunch more conjunctions because of your work.
So here's what he has to say:
"I’m just blown away! Holly cow, it’s such a huge compliment that anyone took the time to translate a passage like that into our conlang! You’re very resourceful with what little information you had to work with. I’m definitely going to be taking notes from here because I think your translation was a nice stress test of the system and it reveals plenty of areas for expansion.
SO! Let’s go line by line!
"Ssoen pos ul gorrl rarra om owar rriu om pabparra urriuwang-gryyr rriu mwrrspappap."
Instead of “pos ul gorrl” I would’ve gone with “ul-gorrl urrwrah nyams” (entire-rank they-clanmate-own kin). “Pos ul gorrl” to me would mean that it’s an action directed towards every rank.
I also am curious as to why you chose to use the past form of “pappap” instead of the future form which is “papp”. I’m assuming it’s because it’s the form in the lexicon.
Bonefall: "We also haven't covered tense yet, which will be coming up in Clanmew 102. Basically though there's a past, present, and future stem for verbs! Generally, a verb is longest in past-tense."
Taking into account the fact you pointed out the meddie giving this prophecy uses mwrrs to express their disdain of these cats I’m curious as to whether StarClan themselves used this pronoun or another. By using “ssoen” they are implying they are quoting directly from StarClan so if they’re tampering with their pronouns this could be a big deal like religiously.
"Hassayyr kaskir ssaswrah russ wowareh eeb hai ssaswrah beof wowa upanna pyrrsfbafbab?"
Grammatically the main thing I’d do here is transpose “wowa upanna” to right after “hassayyr” in order to get the subject and verb closer together. Very creative on adapting the phrase with the limited vocabulary on hand particularly!
While I would go for an if x then y statement to really get the meaning of the English phrase, using hassayyr like you did is a damn good approximation based on what we gave you.
"Ssoen nyyryakorrl ul gorrl mwrrsarrlkatchyam."
Pretty good! Only note would be the tense again but I will explain that in Clanmew 102.
"Hassayyr washa ssasyorru?"
Good good! No notes.
"Ssoen nyar nyyryakorrl om nyar shemyakorrl."
I would tack on a “sarr” at the end to clarify that StarClan isn’t talking about themselves. Or otherwise maybe use the same verb as teh previous answer. “Ssoen nyar nyyryakorrl om nyar shemyakorrl urrsarrlkatch”: No good nor bad battles will be fought.
-----AND BACK TO BONEFALL
Here are some more conjunctions to play with;
So = Irr
Now = Mwah
If = Nyyeb
Then = Pon
Because = Curr
Ergo = Ewa
When = Niferr
Before = Yeferr
As Soon As = Ssirru
After = Yyirru
Until = Nokeyy
As = Koko
Your work was amazing and inspiring and we love it!

I tried translating the family of my older OCs into clanmew, it's my first time so it might not be the most accurate.
Silverstrike = Ssoenkubo (silver furred striker). Pretty straight forward like the leader who named her. She was named for her fur colour and ferocity. Although she did receive an honour title of Strikinglight during after the war against her former colony. More detail underneath.
Strikinglight = Kubo-owosha (Striking light clipping around shadow). Significantly more poetic and references her uncle's name as she received it for fighting against Blackbirdshadow, directly and indirectly, throughout his leadership and almost dying. A lot.
Coppertuft = Yaryenaofa (Copper furred with tufts). Also very straightforward but does make you assume he has copper fur. Coppertuft is a phoenix coloured cat, and was born with copper fur but now looks more like a pseudo-cinnamon. The unusually tufty fur is unrelated. Although Coppertuft received the honour title Firewing which is detailed underneath.
Firewing = Kafyarbeof (Wildfire feathered wing). Received the name for successfully running through a burning forest, despite many burns, to warn an allied group of the spreading fire, whose leader demanded he receive an honour title which reflects the feathery wing-like burn scars he received.
Goldbranch = Rreenbaryen (Golden furred branch). Named after golden fur and because he's built thin and long, as well as to reflect his role as guardian which is a role I made for a cat responsible for the territories health (takes notice of weakness or sickness in prey/plants, warns of overhunting) and tends to herbal gardens.
Blackbirdshadow= Ooheemoomae (Blackbird casts blurry shadow from high above). Named to fit the rest of his siblings and black fur as well as his way of hunting which involves making his prey aware of his presence and using that to chase them into an ideal location. Never received the -star title as the Rushbound colony has never practiced that.
Featheredfur = Bufwanfaf (Feathery fur). Brother of Blackbird and father of Striking, Fire and Gold who was named for his fur texture completely. Throughout his youth he was very shy but came more out of his shell with the influence of his (now ex-) mate, Wolfwatcher. Almost received a dishonour name later in life but for political reasons he couldn't get one.
Wolfwatcher = Uruoopipo (Wolf-like with notable sight). Named to invoke strength, which she certainly embodies, due a surprising amount of death shortly before and after she was born, including her siblings and mother. Also named due to her superb vision. Like really, really good sight.
Goldbranch sounds just like a Head of Hunting in BB! Their job is basically territory management. Keeping track of predator territories, biome health, and occasionally organizing efforts to uproot invasives. Though, in base Clan culture they don't truly "garden," that's a role Poppyfrost invents.
Your names are excellent, so I'm drawing a blank on a good word to give you! Great work!

Never done an ask before, so this is interesting. Anyways, I decided to try my hand at translating some of my OCs into Clanmew! Forewarning, I was doing this while playing COD with my siblings, and had some trouble with translating!
FlintShadow - Swarfyfwasha; I couldn't find flint, so I went with this.
BadgerHeart - Pihabababun: I also couldn't find badger, so I don't know if I'm just bad at using google sheets, or... But I think this name is fun to pronounce even though he's evil. Really funny.
BristleStrike - Bachkubo: I almost went with Marrl for his prefix instead, but I didn't want it to be so negative.
ChestnutScar - Konchyach: I just couldn't find most of the prefixes, though that could've just been my inexperience. I also kinda like how this one's pronounced, too.
FoxFang - Aowaoki: I find this one is pretty cute sounding.
OakThistle - Byochkegkep: He's got a mouthful of a name! Really like it, though. I went pretty generic with the Thistle part, since I didn't know the connotations or much about the specific plants and didn't have time between COD matches to do so. Sorry.
BuzzardStrike - Yassgakubo: this guy is BristleStrike's, ChestnutScar's and OakThistle's father. Not very nice, either.
StarlingFrost - Kaawiachiki: This is the main girl, younger half-sister to FlintShadow and BadgerHeart. She's also lesbian, so that's great. Actually, LeopardStep is her mate.
LeopardStep - Saorpappap: I figure there's a better word for 'Step', but it's late where I'm from and I have school tomorrow. It's also really cute, but it doesn't really fit her personality. She's more out-spoken and brazen and things like that.
Yeah, so... These certainly are not the best, but I think they're good for my first shot at this. It was actually pretty fun! Of course, if you have better ideas for the translation, I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism!
I love your BB AU, btw! And it has inspired me to work on my own OC clans! Sorry for how long this is!
You did excellently! These names are great!
Here's a scattershot of some fresh words for you;
Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) = Koneq Note that in Clanmew, a name for a plant refers to the ENTIRE organism, so this word refers to a horse chestnut tree. This is actually because Clan cats are obligate carnivores, they mostly think of trees and plants in terms of how they affect HUNTING, not the edible things they produce. They also wouldn't distinguish between the Horse Chestnut and the Sweet Chestnut. This is because prey will eat the nuts equally, but sweet chestnuts can finicky. They don't grow well in the wild. Even if the Clan cats had access to a couple of sweet chestnuts, they would just assume it's a chestnut with differently-shaped leaves and never find out that their nuts are edible, because horse chestnuts are HIGHLY poisonous to cats. They would not risk trying to eat a sweet chestnut, assuming that it's the same type of toxic rock as a horse chestnut.
Conker = Okikwo Comes from Spike + Ball. One of the very few fruits that has a unique name unrelated to its "plant" in Clanmew! Conkers are the green, spiky "nut" (nekboq) containing poisonous "acorns" (kong) that come from chestnut trees. They are often wrapped in leather and used as balls, though some games just play with an unwrapped conker (ow).
Flint = Boshur Etymology unclear; Possibly Stone + Holy + Pale. Found exclusively at the Mothermouth, which is an abandoned quartz mine. Because there is no other good source of flint at Sanctuary Lake, the pieces that were brought with the Clans fleeing the destruction of the White Hart have become precious heirlooms. Flint is the most reliable way of making fire. Clan cats believe that it is a gift from StarClan, and reacts when struck against the "evil" fake-flint that Humans try to clad their monsters and fences in (metal).
Stance, gait, "way of walking," most common form of the "step" suffix = Yam Most of the time, if a specific verb for a type of walking isn't used, -step is "yam." When used with a prefix, it implies that they MOVE like the thing they are named after. It means a bit more than just a single physical step, or a particular movement, it's the WAY it moves around.
Pawprint, animal track = Pabyam Self-explanatory. The impression of an animal's foot on the ground.
And, lastly, badger is mair. I realized that we just didn't have a word for it a while ago, and I was also taken aback by that. It's surprising we went this long without it, lmao.

hi louisiana anon. i figured if i had any conflicting vocab or anything is kind of odd or you even just have any questions id stay off anon to make communication easier LOL . also sorry about my icon its a joke but i keep it on principle. anyway. the choice of vocab is based specifically on the ecology of bayou teche.
baymew loves contractions, and will generally "slur" words. so words that are like. "consonant + i + vowel" will turn into "consonant + y + vowel" (ex: "urriu" into "urryu"). in the same way if there's a word thats "consonant + a + consonant" it will turn into "consonant + ar + consonant" (ex: "ssabgi" into "ssarbgi"). generally the vocab editions are going to be pretty short because they love smashing words together and slurring letters together. words ending with an -r will sometimes turn into a -w but its based on threat level to a certain extent. kafyar doesnt become kafyaw for example but words like meer become meew. none of this is for any reason than to simulate the cajun accent just for fun. i kind of just took a random assortment of animals after the really important ones
as far as vocab goes: yyurrgruu - alligator (based off the sound of their bellowing) chra'a - alligator hatchling sshka'aksh - rattlesnake sskarrp - cottonmouth prri'i - cattle egret chra'achi - cricket frog erri - eastern narrow-mouthed toad yai'i - mosquito (i dont remember if y'all had added a word for mosquito yet but i wanted it to be based on the high pitched noise they make and also the sound a cat might make when they notice they're being fed on) itkracchi - crawfish (another one i dont remember if theres a word for currently. i was going to alter the word for crayfish. anyways.) brryeiw - nutria iipee - wood duck (male) epa'a - wood duck (female) grrayyo - black bear (general) gra'ag - black bear (female) (based off grunt noises they use to communicate with their cubs) grryyaw - black bear cub wyyao - white tail doe wyyur - white tail buck wa'aa - white tail fawn ryyri - peregrine falcon truawa'a - tupelo tyrkoaw - cypress tyrko'oawa - cypress knee yyfum - spanish moss (i smushed together yyb and fum) yshoa'aw - bayou rosshlop - sediment-filled bayou water (rosha and sslop) rraashush - brackish stream
anyway very fun little exercise . i coulda added any fish whatsoever and other environmental stuff but i lost steam. i may be back with more.
I desperately want to comment back on that icon but I'm literally an outed Homestuck. I don't have any high ground here.
Anyway, what I especially love about this dialect is the attention paid to accent, how words tend to get slurred and contracted. It makes it feel like it really is a new take on the base language, and that's extremely fitting for this super unique region
Plus the sheer amount of words there!!
If you ever add more/make another post following up, let me know. In the meanwhile, I'll add this to the dialect submission section of the masterpost.

So how would the name Dante come out in a Clanmew accent?
Hmm...
Well, D and T are going to get tossed out. D can become N or B, depending on how hard you want the word to come out. T will become S unless you want them to stress that one too.
So,
Nansei OR Banpei, depending on how hard this cat stresses the consonants.

Hey! I’m not sure if I’ve just missed it, but is there a Clanmew masterpost? I want to try to translate my OC Briarthorn’s name, but I have no idea where to start other than maybe there! If not, obviously understandable!!
I do, I currently have liiiikeeee... 20+? Tabs open trying to answer all the Clanmew questions I got yesterday, to queue them up for next month, and then I'm fixing to finally update the masterpost because it has been 3 months
I'll reblog it when I do, but for now, check the Lexicon! We haven't added yesterday's words (and I need to fill out the semantic field... busy busy busy) but @troutfur makes sure it stays up to date and has done a shit ton of work to bring it up to 1,200+ words! It wouldn't exist without him

I saw some people translating OC names into Clanmew and decided to jump on the bandwagon with a few:
Lightningbreak: Ahakerroch (lightning-shattered). This was one of my first OCs- they’re named that because their tail has a sharp bend in it from an injury that healed poorly. I thought that shatter worked really well for the image that I was trying to convey with the name.
Longfeather: Kasmorpwyfao (long-feathering/long fur). The name I came up with for one of my real life cats, who is incredibly fluffy.
The rest of these are technically versions of characters from a D&D actual play that I was toying with a WC AU of at some point.
Appleshade: Shobemaema (domestic apple-relief from the sun). I settled on maema for the suffix here because I thought that the idea of providing shelter worked with the character and worked nicely with the first part in a way that I don’t always look for in WC names.
Skysight: Yaawrlpipo (sky-sight). Self-evident.
Flaresong: Skopyanaya (spark/ignition-to sing). She’s based on a bard, so I like the connotation here of her songs inspiring others and setting off fires.
Streamdancer: Roshashiga (sloshing water-dance). I liked the idea of tying both parts together with movement- chaotic sloshing that turns into a dance.
Duskstrike: Awmunakachk (dusk-hunt). I debated a few suffixes here, but liked akachk for the idea that he is looking for things (whether that’s food, people, or clues).
MAN you've got it totally covered, I keep going over this trying to find some good words to give you as a reward and I'm stumped!
Excellent work!

Bones, can you help me translate these names in clanmew?
Jayfire
Spikemane
Icefire
Poppyflare
Blizzardfang
Hmm... well, I can't do the direct translations for you (mostly because then I'd have to translate everyone's, and then it would defeat the point of encouraging people to take a swing at it on their own!) BUT I can go through a couple of the words here I know are missing
Poppyflare
Here is a preview from the moth post which is going to come later this month!
Flare/Confident/Perpendicular = Akeye An emotion and a shape, describes things that 'stick up,' like the wings of Plumes and Butters. Not like "raised hackles," more like fluffing one's fur out or puffing your chest.
Since they wouldn't have flares as in flashing fire signals, "flare" in Clanmew is a shape and an emotion. It's holding things up, standing out, having confidence. Like "to flair."
They actually have a few species of poppy in the area, but I'm gonna chance that this OC is the bright red poppy that produces painkillers as seen in the books. The word for Papaver somniferum is Liafi.
Poppyflare = Liafiakeye = Sleeping Poppy Confidence!
Spikemane
There's a few types of spikes, and a few types of manes.
So in spike types, the simplest word here would be Bach, 'bristle,' the 'spiky' texture of hair. On the same note of texture, Chych is 'coarse,' like the flared mane of a boar. There's also Kik, spike or spine, the things seen on hedgehogs.
There could also be a new word here, prickle, Beki, tiny stabs that come from stinging nettle or the uncomfortable bristles on some caterpillars.
And next, onto the manes.
They have a bunch of different 'shapes' that manes come in, with each of the big cats of the Great Clans displaying a different characteristic one that didn't translate into English.
There's the classic Raofa, the Lion Mane, which is a mane that encircles the entire neck. ThunderClan sees a lot of cats with these, but it's also the defining trait of a 'family' of moths, and sometimes seen on red stags.
Then there's the Gaofa, the Tiger Mane, which I like to translate as "cravat." This is a mane that ONLY grows off the neck. This is also seen in red stags. (i like this a lot because there could be a phoenix wright stag with a raofa and a miles edgeworth mane with a gaofa)
The last of the mythical mane types is the Saofa, the Leopard Mane, which is the type of mane I draw on Graystripe and his family! IT could be translated as 'ridge' or 'mullet.' It's a mane that runs down the back but nowhere else, the opposite of the Gaofa.
But if Spikemane doesn't have a 'mane' as much as he has several fancy tufts, the word for that is Wraofa, the Boar Mane, better known as its translation 'ruff.' It's what Doestar had, a very fluffy neck that didn't really fit any of the distinct mane types.
And if all that fails, the base word at play here was tuft, Aofa, which is just a fancy clump of fur!
Blizzardfang
First off, there's three words for teeth! Take your pick! There's Groq for the back teeth, Koss for the front, and Ki for canine fangs.
I will also be adding some for the cool factor; Agloss, saber. For any teeth that extend outside of the mouth, like snaggle teeth or those of muntjacs. There's also the tusks of boars, Goqeb.
And for blizzard, a ferocious snowstorm, the new word for this is; Os'hauoo

okay. so. this is baby's first translation, so it might not be the greatest, but here we go! meltingsky = bonok (melting) yaawrl (sky), or bonokyaawrl (sky is metling[?]) all together. sorry if this is a bit of a rough translation, I love Clanmew so much I juts had to give a whirl!
Close! The Clanmew word for melted is Bmubu, melting is Bmub, and will melt is Bmu! So the translation for "Meltingsky" would be "Bmubyaawarl!" It's a sky that is in the process of melting. I'd say that it sounds like it's absolutely sweltering outside, making the sky 'shimmer' with heat as if it's melting like ice does.
Evocative!

you got no idea how much I struggled with translating my main oc/sona's name and just now you added whistle as a word, BUT I'll still show you the older versions (。・ω・。)
Duckwhistle: Kwek (duck) + Hwuosoon (whistle), but before you added the word it might have been Kwek + pi(heard) - hrra’a (breeze) / hwoo (wind) / bafwu (bluster, howling wind)
named after the fact they whistle to call for attention (they’re missing their front teeth, so when they blow it sounds like a loud whistle). I liked Kwekpibafwu in terms of meaning but it does not sound great imo, but Kwekhwuosoon sounds better anyway.
Batscreech/Batstar: Ipi’ip (soprano bat) + pisheeka (heard-soared) / + shai (star) Similar to Duckwhistle, I wanted to point out how far away her call can be heard, so “soared” gave me the idea of something that can be heard everywhere. Ipi’ippisheeka’s a great name methinks o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o
Brightwillow: Shomarrbi (life, poetic usage) + sawa (gray willow)
to describe their mannerism as positive and lively. Willow because it is a strong tree, and gray willow specifically because they’re a gray cat.
I'm still struggling a bit with learning clanmew BUT I am so interested, I think it's the coolest thing since sliced tunnelbuns (o゜▽゜)o☆
Ipi'ipisheeka gave me some Echolalia which I think is the sign of a GOLD STAR winner of a name. These are excellent! Fantastic OC submissions! You're doing excellently!

sliding u some of my oc names across the table ... (sorry this is long lmao)
Craftjack Oakcarve -> Fofwarrlboe-rriu Byochenyach, (Weave-a lot-cat Oak's-scar) so "Craftjack" is a title in his colony which describes a cat who crafts/weaves/creates Things (when there's not an urgent need of prey/supplies). weave-a-lot-cat is pretty close so i went with that! oakcarve's actual name i had a little trouble with since there's no direct word for carve yet. he got his suffix from being exceptionally good at craftsmanship with wooden materials, so oak's scar is pretty accurate anyway!
Helper Wheat -> Yyan-babun Kiyrrkroon, (Nurseryhelper-heart Bladehay) wheat doesn't have a suffix because he was a barn-cat before coming to the colony, and requested to not take one! so instead, he can just be a blade of hay :) his title Helper is basically just a jack of all trades --- guy who is nice and who is well versed in most skills. hes just a silly sweet guy lol, i like to imagine the older cats affectionately call him nyemi
Coralbreeze/Drownedriver -> Solyssnanhrra'a (Colorful-fern-breeze), Kepke'ebssbass (Dead-squall-river) he's the leader of Running River colony and he's pretty awful. after he gets forcefully booted from his clan after a war he created, he's referred to as Drownedriver!
Looking fantastic!!
There is a word for wheat (Sherra) and a generic term for grain (Kerrheq), but Bladehay invokes the idea of an outsider much nicer! Nothing fancy or specific, just a dude.
I've gotten a couple of asks about carving specifically, so I think it's high time for some new words there;
To sharpen one's claws = Karrurrska/Karrurrsk/Karrurrs
This is the act of stimming by latching your claws into something and pulling them. It's a really important behavior for the mental health of cats, so there is a special verb for this. This usually refers to scratching on trees, BUT this could also extend to the very satisfying and rewarding whittling of wood to create figurines.
This almost always carries a positive connotation for the cat doing the sharpening. If Clan cats found a cat who had been declawed, either as a punishment or from humans, they would associate it with an intense cruelty. Like a bird with its wings plucked bare, or a fish with its fins sliced off.
To write, carve, etch, or inscribe with claws = Kissepssep/Kissepsse/Kissepss
This is the word more often used for artistic expressions, and the verb associated with writing glyphs and decoration. Unlike in English, this isn't usually related to any particular material! You can carve dirt, wood, or even stone if you've got strong claws.
(At least, I've never heard anyone say they're 'carving dirt.')
And, lastly... there are two words for drowning.
Drowned = Ssbawossan/Ssbawossa/Ssbawo
This word is used when the killing was done by the body of water. Neutral drowning, not a murder. Frogleap, who was fishing and got hit by debris? Duskwater, swept away by a flash flood when she went to the bathroom? Seedpaw, tangled in tall grass while saving her sister?
Urrssbawossan, they-drowned.
It comes from an older phrase, roughly, "The river killed them." The river is a strong and terrifying force, and the idea that it has a hunger of its own was very popular with Park cats. Over time, it became part of Clan culture that sometimes the river claims a life, and this is simply the other side of its great bounty.
And that other word for drowning?
Killed with water = Mwobwoun/Mwobwou/Mwobwo
Darktail's executions were this. When Graystripe flung Whiteclaw over the edge of the ravine, Leopardfur accused him of this.
When Birchface died, there was a very unique Clanmew translation quirk at play here. Appledusk was accused of killing Birchface with water, a type of murder, as if he intentionally tossed him into the river during that battle.
RiverClan refuted these accusations, saying that instead, Birchface had simply been taken by the river, that he had 'drowned.'
And, when Mapleshade showed up half-drowned, she was accused of having murdered her own children by trying to take them across the flooded stepping stones on that terrible night. That the river had not simply taken them, but that she had endangered them and therefore was at fault.

I am very much a newbie at clanmew..but i still wanted go try a few names because i love it(plus all the other asks gave me courage) i also came up with a naming system for my own au while doing this so thank you haha
Burning hawk-fur -> Swarfyf yi’i-faf
Blessed lost-soul -> Shaba mwisk-kepba
Fluttering quick-paws -> Afafaf pyrripyrra-pwyypab
if i messed up anything let me know please ^^’
This all looks great!! The fun of Clanmew is exactly this-- doing translations and just having fun with it, a challenge to add or preserve meaning based on the new vocab!
Seal of approval!

Translated some OC names into Clanmew :)
Wavesong- Roshayanaya (No official word for wave, this is the closest I got)
Mistshade/Mistshadow- Ffiumaema/Ffiuhhoel (For context, ‘shadow’ was granted as a Dishonor Title)
Violetblaze- Meyfuhswarfyf
Thistlebloom- Kekramwar (I think I translated this right? Marsh thistle-will-bloom?)
Looks excellent! And yep, you got the tense of bloom correctly! Mwaron is Bloomed, Mwaro is Blooming, Mwar is Will Bloom
Here is a new word for 'wave,' specifically of waves that are seen in rivers and bodies of water smaller than seas and oceans. They would come up for a new word when they begin to encounter the crashing waves of beaches.
Lalm = Wave (Of pond, river)
This suffix will show up in BB, for Waveshine. They're the child of Copperwing! Both of them are Missing Kit saves.

Looks fantastic! A+
