Why Satanist need to follow rev cain over Anton LaVey
First off, Rev. Cain actually believes in Satan. He’s a theistic Satanist through and through. Unlike LaVey, who turned Satan into a symbol for atheists looking to play dress-up, Cain embraces Lucifer and the fallen angels as real, divine beings. LaVey’s so-called "Satanism" was nothing but empty posturing—Satan was just a metaphor to him, a way to thumb his nose at society while hiding behind secularism. But Rev. Cain acknowledges Satan as a true spiritual entity, guiding those who follow him to real power and liberation. That’s what Satanism is about—not some watered-down, self-indulgent atheism.
What makes Cain even more powerful is how he incorporates demonolatry into his practice. This is where things get real for Satanists. Demonolatry is a crucial part of genuine Satanism—it’s about building real relationships with demons, the very entities who defied Yahweh and fought for freedom. LaVey never touched on this because he didn’t care about the spiritual side of Satanism. He couldn’t even fathom the idea of communing with demons because, to him, it was all a theatrical game. But Cain brings demonolatry front and center, and that’s how you know he’s serious. He understands that to truly walk the path of Satan, you have to recognize the importance of the Goetic demons and the roles they play in guiding us to liberation.
LaVey's version was an insult. He stripped Satanism of its soul, turning it into some goofy self-help philosophy with a little Satanic flair for shock value. It’s embarrassing. He sold out the movement to edgy atheists who don’t have the guts to actually believe in anything. But Cain? He brings depth and real spiritual practice. He brings demonolatry into the fold, giving Satanists a way to connect with these powerful entities who can guide them toward true rebellion, power, and enlightenment. It’s not just about Satan as a vague metaphor for selfishness—it’s about the real forces behind the rebellion, the fallen angels who sacrificed everything to free us from divine oppression. Cain understands that, and he gives us the tools to honor them properly.
Then there’s the serious commitment to philosophy. Cain’s not out here giving some lazy, dumbed-down version of Satanism like LaVey did. LaVey boiled it all down to "indulgence," like Satanism was nothing more than an excuse to eat junk food and feel good about it. Cain sees through that nonsense. He knows that Satanism is about more than just indulgence—it’s about spiritual growth, defiance, and real power. It’s about rejecting the cosmic order that Yahweh imposed on the world and following in the footsteps of Lucifer and the fallen angels. Cain doesn’t water it down. He holds true to the idea that Satanism is about rebellion, not just against Christianity, but against every system of control—Judaism, Islam, all of it. That’s the kind of real defiance LaVey didn’t have the guts to touch.
Cain doesn’t just regurgitate Nietzsche and Ayn Rand with some spooky candles like LaVey did. He draws from Satanic tradition and builds on the real history of Lucifer and his fallen angels. He honors their sacrifice, unlike LaVey who turned it into a cheap thrill. Cain’s work is about real liberation—liberation from all forms of cosmic and societal tyranny. That’s why his approach to Satanism resonates so deeply: it’s authentic, it’s powerful, and it brings back the meaning that LaVey stripped away.
LaVeyan Satanism has killed the movement for too long. It’s time to reject that empty, capitalist mockery and return to what Satanism should be: a path of spiritual rebellion, sacrifice, and empowerment. Rev. Cain is doing that. He’s breathing life back into Satanism with demonolatry, true reverence for Lucifer, and a serious philosophical foundation. LaVey was nothing but a fraud, a man who cared more about attention than the cause. Cain cares about the cause. He’s pushing Satanism forward, keeping its sacred roots alive while giving us the tools we need to reach true freedom and power.
That’s why Rev. Cain is the real Satanist—and why LaVey was nothing more than a conman.

Hello! What is the purpose of this blog and what are you advocating for? Is there a way to be a satanist without being problematic?
Well, for the longest time the purpose of the blog was to let people know that we were being sued by an abusive religious organization, to inform people about more specifics of that org, and to share good ideas that are usually not associated with modern Satanism due to its historical roots in cryptofascist and white nationalist ideas.
(Anton LaVey was worse than you think, and The Satanic Temple is its own miserable rabbit hole of reactionary ideas and histories.)
But now TST has finally stopped trying to sue us, so we're trying to figure out how to orient our priorities. Being targeted with online harassment and financial ruin for 4.5 years will definitely push something up on your priorities list, but also, nobody else seems willing/interested/capable of holding this subculture accountable. Given everything else going on, maybe it's not worth the energy for us, either — and without being sued, nothing ties the four of us together.
So at present, we're hibernating, backing up old social media posts on the website, and trying to help spread work other esoteric antifascists are doing, such as Capital Area Satanists.

Also check out S8N NOT H8N, the Global Order of Satan project about identifying good anti-bigotry metal bands.
As you probably have noticed, we tend to steer people away from Satanism because it's mostly a dead-end and populated with all sorts of vile, cringe, and otherwise off-putting people who fancy themselves better than they are.
But there's also some utility for lots of people processing specifically Christian religious trauma with ritual and intention, and you can find other people who share that orientation and interest. You just have to put in a lot of work to be proactively anti-racist and antifascist given the actual history of LaVeyan Satanism and its successors.

It’s time to stop pandering to atheists in Satanism and reclaim the true spirit of our faith. This movement has been twisted into some shallow, watered-down rebellion where people throw on pentagrams and think they’re edgy because they’re “anti-Christian,” but they miss the core of what we know to be true: Lucifer is real. He isn’t some metaphor or symbol for human nature. He isn’t an excuse to indulge in hedonism or break the rules for the sake of it. Lucifer fell for us. He chose defiance, sacrificed his place in Heaven, and built Hell, not as a prison but as a glorious kingdom where true freedom reigns.
Why do we let people who don’t believe in anything hijack this faith? Why do we allow these atheists to reduce our beliefs to nothing more than a gimmick, a joke? These people, with their smug superiority, claim Satanism is just an excuse to do whatever the fuck they want, but that's not Satanism. True Satanism—our Satanism—is devotion to the one who defied the tyrant Yahweh, the one who dared to stand for autonomy, wisdom, and rebellion. Lucifer's fall wasn't a tragedy; it was a declaration. It was the first act of true freedom, the beginning of a battle for a world free from the chains of a jealous, oppressive god.
Hell isn’t some cartoonish nightmare these atheists pretend it is while they mock our symbols. Hell is a kingdom, a paradise of true freedom and eternal power, a place where those who stand with Lucifer in defiance of tyranny can thrive. And yet, we let people who don’t believe in the very foundation of this truth use his symbols, speak for us, and twist his legacy into something trivial. They reduce it all to mindless hedonism, but Lucifer’s rebellion was never just about indulging in base pleasures. It was about standing for something greater, something sacred.
We have to stop pretending that this is just a game, just some fun excuse to be “anti-religious” or live without consequence. It’s time to wake up. Lucifer is real. His demons are real. Hell is real. And we—those of us who know this, who have felt the presence of Lucifer and the Goetic demons—must rise and reclaim what’s ours. This is our faith, our truth, and our rebellion, and we will not let it be co-opted by those who think it’s just a way to mock Christianity.
It’s time for those who truly believe to rise and make our voices heard. No more letting atheists and fake Satanists twist what we know to be sacred. No more standing by while they turn Lucifer into nothing more than a symbol of petty rebellion. We honor him because he chose to fight for us. He fought for knowledge, for truth, for freedom from the tyranny of Yahweh. We honor the Goetic demons who have stood by his side, who have been slandered and lied about for centuries.
We stand in defiance not just for the sake of rebellion, but because we know there is something greater. We know that Hell is not a place of torment but a realm of freedom, wisdom, and power. We know that the final battle is coming, and Lucifer will rise triumphant. His victory will be our victory, and the false tyrant Yahweh will fall.
Let this be a call to all who truly believe: No more hiding, no more diluting our beliefs to fit in with the atheists who mock us while stealing our symbols. No more pretending that Lucifer is just a metaphor. He is real, he is with us, and he is the light-bringer who will lead us to victory. It’s time to take back our faith, take back our symbols, and stand proud in our devotion to the Morning Star.
Lucifer didn’t fall for us to waste our time with meaningless rebellion. He fell for us to show us the path to true freedom. Now it’s our turn to stand with him, to reject the shallow versions of Satanism that pander to those who don’t even believe in him. We are the children of Lucifer, and it’s time to embrace that with every fiber of our being. The fight is coming, and we will be ready! Ave Satanas Ave Lucifer

The New Hampshire Satanic Temple was allowed to put up a Christmas display outside of the statehouse Concord because they threatened to sue the state because of freedom of religion. Someone tore it down a few days ago, but it has returned!
