Your Dream Sun Hill Staff Line Up
This will only work if we ignore the obvious problem with aging and make everyone as old as when they were onscreen for the majority of the time all at the same time (so ignoring returns and later sad deaths like Ted in the numbered episodes and people leaving the service like Rod/Yorkie etc.)
I have included those who rose through the ranks or 'acted up' onscreen in those positions as well [For example - acting Superintendent Derek Conway would be allowed to be chosen as a Superintendent, however you couldn't promote someone who hadn't been seen onscreen as that rank - say making Will Fletcher a Superintendent] It's likely that I've forgotten some so please feel free to point it out and add them in!
You obviously cannot have people in more than one position however, so unfortunately (for me!) there's no Inspector Smith, Sgt Smith and PC Smith all working at the same time!
There are no rules on the sexes of characters (ie - you don't have to have 6 PC's of each sex). The numbers are as follows...
Allowances
1 Superintendent
1 Chief Inspector
1 Detective Chief Inspector
2 Detective Inspectors
3 Detective Sergeants
10 Detective Constables
1 Inspector
3 Sergeants
12 Constables (in total)
(Initially a little bit generous on PC's and DC's allowances. I did start with 8 and 10 but it was a bit too hard for that! If we go for another round we might need to bring that down...)
Superintendent Chief Superintendent Charles Brownlow Acting Superintendent Derek Conway Superintendent Tom Chandler Superintendent Adam Okaro Superintendent Amanda Prosser Superintendent John Heaton Superintendent Jack Meadows
Chief Inspector Chief Inspector Derek Conway Chief Inspector Philip Cato Chief Inspector Paul Stitch
Detective Chief Inspector Detective Chief Inspector Kim Reid Detective Chief Inspector Frank Burnside Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Wray Detective Chief Inspector Jack Meadows
Detective Inspector Detective Inspector Roy Galloway Acting Detective Inspector Ted Roach Detective Inspector Frank Burnside Detective Inspector Harry Haines Detective Inspector Sally Johnson Detective Inspector Chris Deakin Detective Inspector Claire Stanton Acting Inspector Liz Rawton Detective Inspector Alex Cullen Detective Inspector Neil Manson Detective Inspector Rowanne Morell Acting Detective Inspector Ramani De Costa Detective Inspector Samantha Nixon

The Ghosts of Borley Rectory (2021) - Colin Baker as Charles Sutton
Here are a few things I've noticed while watching this film other than my future ex-lover Colin Baker.
Wait, Julian Sands was in this. I wonder if they ever found him?
Chris Ellison could get a piece.
With those lips, David Warren could catch a dick to the face.

Can I be honest with y'all?
I actually didn't care for I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. It's a great concept, an amazing concept, which Ellison just sort of didn't execute. Structurally it's like Chris Straub's Platonic-ideal creepypasta--a spooky idea delivery mechanism wherein things like "plot" and "character" are affectations--and I liken it to Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club in that I think most of the people who fondly remember it are actually remembering a much better later adaptation

All the people complaining about people bringing up Stockholm and the other stuff Lily has done instead of just talking about the allegations, have none of them heard of something called "establishing a pattern of behavior?" This isn't just about Lily writing gross fanfiction or making sex jokes in her videos covering children's cartoons. It's about painting a full picture of the kind of person Lily really is.
You can tell a lot about a person based on their writing.
H.p. Lovecraft was a racist piece of shit till the day he died, and you can see that with the call of cuthulu.
Harlan Ellison hated people also till he died and can see that in I have no mouth and I must scream.
Edger Allen poe was a depressed man morning the loss of his wife and slowly losing his sanity, and you can see that in literally ALL of his poems.
Look at fucking Chris Chan and all the shit they posted and turned out that they were one of the biggest freak on the planet.
There are two reasons why I'm not talking about the rape "allegations." One is because I'm not comfortable talking about it, and two is because I'm not smart enough to talk about it.

Terror lives in the shadows in a pair of mesmerizingly moody horror milestones conjured from the imagination of Val Lewton, the visionary producer-auteur who turned our fears of the unseen and the unknown into haunting excursions into existential dread. As head of RKO’s B-horror-movie unit during the 1940s, Lewton, working with directors such as Jacques Tourneur and Mark Robson, brought a new sophistication to the genre by wringing chills not from conventional movie monsters but from brooding atmosphere, suggestion, and psychosexual unease. Suffused with ritual, mysticism, and the occult, the poetically hypnotic I Walked with a Zombie and the shockingly subversive The Seventh Victim are still-tantalizing dreams of death that dare to embrace the darkness.

05x17 - In The Frame
Burnside is running late for the weekly crime meeting in Brownlow's office. Reg is holding court with a recap of last week's minutes as he arrives. No sooner does Frank's bum hit the seat than Tosh arrives to call him out of the meeting for an urgent phone call. Brownlow is NOT impressed.
The call is from a woman who won't give her name which makes Burnside hang up on her. Tosh tells him the woman would only say she had urgent information for him. A few seconds later, the woman calls back and tells Frank not to hang up because it's important. When asked what she wants, she says simply "Gold bullion." He agrees to meet her.
The crimes surrounding local pubs have apparently decreased thanks to a Pub Watch initiative. Reg is keen that Mr Brownlow write a letter of thanks to each publican involved. There has however been a spate of thefts from vehicles. Tom points out that every single one of them has had the stolen property on clear view on seats, dashboards or parcel shelves which makes him think it's more the work of opportunist thieves. He suggests some crime prevention leaflets put under the wipers of cars in the worst affected areas and volunteers Bob Cryer to do it.
Burnside arrives at a local pub and is soon approached by a blonde who rudely shouts for a drink. She counts coppers out of her purse to find that she doesn't have enough and tells Frank that 'times are hard' whilst showing him her empty cigarette packet and walking off. "For us all, lady. For us all." He calls after her. The barman finally arrives and asks 'Well what did she want?"' Frank is confused and asks what he means. "The lady who was with you?" "She's not with me, mate!" The woman in question left a carrier bag behind when she left the bar but neither Frank nor the barman seem to notice.
Tumblr media
Bob is out leafleting cars in the area that have had a lot of car thefts.
Tumblr media
Frank continues to wait and is soon approached by two men. The taller of the two flashes a warrant card and introduces himself as Chief Inspector Starling. His colleague is Sgt Yensen and they are attached to Operation Backwoods. They invite Frank to 'calmly walk outside with them.' Frank protests but they won't take no for an answer.
Outside, Starling explains Operation Backwoods is a Home Office Investigation into allegations of corruption against MET officers. "Allegations made by villains serving time!" Frank scoffs. Starling says that some of the allegations go back years whilst others are more recent. Frank asks what any of it has to do with him. Yensen reaches into the bag the woman left at the bar to show that it's full of cash, insinuating she'd left it for Frank. Frank takes one look and does a runner! Unfortunately for him, 2 other officers are waiting for him. Outnumbered, Frank has to give in and go with them.
Tumblr media
Hearing that Brownlow wanted to speak to Frank after his quick exit from the meeting, Tosh goes to offer his help. Brownlow makes it clear that he suspects Frank's late arrival and quick exit from the meeting was a pre-organised stunt and warns him that he wants at least one CID member present at the weekly Crime Meetings every week without fail. He wants to see Frank the moment he gets back from 'seeing his informant.' That might be a bit awkward…
A mother pushing a buggy asks Bob to do something about the cars he's leafleting as a lot are parked on the pavement. He promises he'll look into having them towed and asks her to leave it with him.
Tosh returns to CID to find unknown men in Frank's office going through his desk and filing cabinets. "What's your game? Who are you?"
Frank is led into an almost empty block of offices with only a phone on the floor in one of the rooms. In another, he's brought to the attention of the Chief Superintendent in charge of the operation. He's not best pleased to see him! Chief Superintendent Alan Pearson has history with Frank - and it's obviously not pleasant. Pearson sends Yensen to 'make the witness available. Frank accuses him of always doing things underhand or 'going round the back' - claiming he had previous for exactly this when a DC under Frank. Pearson insinuates that that was all Frank's doing because of the way he operated. He makes out he had to transfer to a county force to escape his reach. That in turn gave him access to accelerated promotion which made him a Chief Superintendent when he transferred back to London. Frank asks him to cut to the chase and tell him why he's there. Pearson lifts a cassette player and replays Frank's conversation with the blonde in the pub that morning. In the office with Pearson's spin, it sounds suspiciously like the woman is giving Frank a bribe. "You know as well as I do that this is a set-up." Pearson looks smug. "£2000 in a carrier bag….?" "Not even you would stoop that low!" Frank snaps back.
Yensen returns with a folded note that he hands to Pearson who excuses himself from the room. Frank asks Starling who the money belongs to. He responds that it's the witnesses' money but Frank points out the woman barely had 2p never mind £2k! He asks again who gave her it and he tells him it's the property of the Home Office.
Tumblr media
Tosh interrupts Brownlow tending his flowers to tell him about Operation Backwood and Frank. Charles is horrified that they're working in Sun Hill without him having been informed. Tosh explains they don't have to let anyone know because they're working on enquiries originating from people in prison. Charles rings the Home Office and demands that he be told where Frank is and why he has been taken in to 'help'. He warns if they don't ring him back within the hour he will involve the Comissioner.
Bob controls his patrol along the street and notes what looks like a Sgt from the US Army's jacket with a camera in plain view on one of the seats. He leaflets it and moves on to the next one. The owner of the car returns and Bob reprimands him for parking on a double yellow line and having wheels on the pavement and asks him to move his car. The man apologises and says he was in a hurry when he'd parked and agrees to move it if Bob can allow him a couple of minutes to return to his sisters for the rest of his stuff. Bob remains firm - move the car. The man gives in and gets in the front seat and Bob walks off. A matter of seconds later, the car explodes, sending Bob flying and killing the American Sgt instantly.
Tumblr media
The road is shut off and the fire brigade extinguish the fire. Brownlow tries to send Bob to hospital, but he insists he wants to stay at work. Bob agrees for a paramedic to check him over whilst Charles tells him that the Anti Terrorist Squad have taken over the investigation.
Tumblr media
Pearson returns to the office and tells Frank he's not under arrest. He reminds him of a criminal he arrested for robbery roughly 10 years ago, Thomas Norton. Norton has applied for parole and his wife, Nancy Norton was allegedly under the impression that Frank could help smooth the way for her husband's release. Frank frowns, telling them he's never met the woman. Pearson and Starling exchange a smug smirk and Frank realises what he is getting at - Nancy Norton is the woman from the pub and the 'witness'. Pearson claims that Frank agreed on a fee of £2K for him to put in a good word for her husband at his parole hearing. Frank insists he wants to see Mrs Norton and have her repeat the allegation in front of him. Pearson admits that they can't do that because they don't know where she's gone!
Frank insists he's going to return to Sun Hill until they can present Nancy Norton. Pearson claims to have a statement from her detailing Frank approaching her to agree to put in a good word for her husband for a sum of money. "By the end of the day, you'll be suspended from duty pending criminal proceedings," Frank tells Pearson that he wants to make a statement of his own.
Back at Sun Hill, Tosh and Brownlow are officially in the dark regarding what's happened to Frank. Tosh admits he's made some phone calls to people who owe him favours. Charles tells him it's not wise to make calls that can be recorded as Operation Backwoods has sweeping powers in their search for corruption and could claim that Tosh is involved himself or trying to cover something up for Frank. Tosh claims he's been told that Frank is likely being held at an address in Southwark and, if pushed, he could get a firm address.
Frank is taken to another room with recording equipment set up. He starts his statement by saying that he and Pearson first met when he was a DC under Frank's Sgt. Pearson snaps at him to keep to the point; the interview is about his interaction with Norton's wife. Frank corrects him - the interview is about alleged corruption and that's exactly what he's reporting - being set up by Pearson! Starling pauses the interview 'for refreshments'. "Frightened of what I might say?" Frank growls. Pearson warns him he's there in connection with corruption and warns him not to cloud the issue. "Can I go to the toilet? Or is that irrelevant?"
DCI Watson of the Anti-Terrorist Squad introduces himself and his colleague Agent Caxton from the US Embassy to Charles. Agent Caxton tells Charles that the gentleman killed was a US Air Force Sgt based at Mildenhall. He spent the night with his sister and English brother-in-law at their home in Sun Hill. The visits were a regular thing at least a couple of times a month and always on a Monday. The Anti-Terrorist Squad believe he was picked out as an easy target by a Terrorist organisation. Agent Caxton wants to speak to Bob.
Tumblr media
Frank eyeballs the Sgt who is taking him to the toilet. "Want to come in and hold it for me too?" he snarks before the man allows him into the bathroom alone.
Bob lets himself up into CID asking Tosh if Ted still has a bottle in his desk drawer. Tosh is surprised and asks about his 'lucky escape. "Lucky? Is that what you call it?" Bob sinks his glass in one. Tosh hands him the second glass for him to sink too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course Frank whistles 'Born Free' whilst escaping... 🤣🤣
Frank runs as quickly as he can away from the scene towards a telephone box. He calls Tosh and tells him he's been set up by Pearson via an old case involving a criminal called Tommy Norton. He tells Tosh to find his wife, Nancy Norton before the Operation Blackwood lot does. It's a good job he manages to get it out as the call is ended immediately after by Pearson's henchmen dragging Frank out.
Bob is still in shock and reckons if he'd stood and waited for the man to move his car they'd still be collecting all the pieces of his body as well as the American Sgt's as DCI Watson and Agent Caxton track him down. Bob can't tell them what they want to hear because he saw nobody near the car or the man and nobody hanging around the area. Caxton insists they go over it again, despite Bob telling them that he has told them everything he can remember. "But-" "NO BUTS!" Watson spits, leaning into Bob's face.
Pearson mocks Frank for making himself look guilty by escaping. Frank doesn't care what Pearson thinks and orders him again to present his 'star witness', charge him or suspend him. Pearson claims Frank has left him no alternative and that they will have to go and get it over with.
At the same time, Tosh enters a pub and makes his way over to the blonde at the bar. "Hello Nancy…"
Bob is getting angrier as DCI Watson and Agent Caxton refuse to believe that he saw nothing suspicious. He repeats that he told the man to move the car or it would be towed away because it was parked on a double yellow line and obstructing the pavement. Caxton tells him he should have left the man alone and then he'd still be alive. He claims that they'd had a warning of a terrorist attack and - if Bob had let the man return to his sister's house - he might have got the warning! "You can't be sure of that!" "He would have gotten the message!" Watson shouts at Bob, telling him that he would then have had the car checked over before he got in it and found the bomb. Caxton then starts a rant about how the man was over - not by choice - to protect the UK from a potential Soviet threat. If he's not there by choice - why is he in the Navy? He wasn't conscripted. Ahem. Watson stops him but not before Caxton fully blames Bob for the Sgt's death and tells him he hopes it's engraved on his conscience for the rest of his life. Nice.
Tosh literally drags Nancy out of the pub to his car but they're ambushed by Operation Blackwood officers who make a violent grab for the pair. Nancy bites the hand of the man who tries to restrain her and knees him in the testicles whilst Tosh fights his man off. They break free and get into the nearest taxi.
Tumblr media
[If the behaviour by Operation Blackwood officers doesn't draw their 'investigation' into Frank into question there I don't know what would!]
Brownlow is forced to ask Frank for his warrant card to suspend him from duty. Frank calmly tells him that he hasn't done anything wrong as he hands it over. He explains to Frank that Pearson has framed him because he wrongly believes he took a bribe from a criminal years ago. Frank is concerned it will affect his chances of promotion as those involved will believe there's no smoke without fire. During this, Brownlow gets a telephone call and tells the person - Tosh - on the other end to come through. Tosh enters a few seconds later with Nancy and asks her if she can see a man who threatened her in the room. Nancy points at Starling and tells Charles, Frank and Tosh that he told her that her husband would not get parole if she didn't help him set up Frank Burnside. Starling denies the allegation. "And guess who put him up to it." Frank mutters under his breath. Pearson shifts suspiciously. Charles calls Scotland Yard and gets them to set up an investigation to look into it what Nancy has confessed and hands Frank his warrant card back!
"Always got someone else to do the dirty work for you, didn't you." "They'll get you one day, it's only a matter of time." Pearson glares. "They'll have to be a damn sight cleverer than you!" Frank retorts.

EXCLUSIVE: Apple and Skydance‘s youth empowerment tale Way of the Warrior Kid, based on the 2017 novel by Jocko Willink, has tapped 14-year-old Belfast breakout Jude Hill for its lead role, also bringing on three-time Emmy nominee Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me) for a role.
Hill plays Marc, a self-doubting boy who gets bullied and is hard-pressed to complete a single pull-up, with Cardellini as Marc’s mother, Sarah. As we were first to report, Chris Pratt also stars in the film directed by McG.
In Way of the Warrior Kid, Marc’s uncle, Jake (Pratt), an elite Navy SEAL, is injured on a mission and moves in with his sister for rehab. When he discovers his 13-year-old nephew is struggling academically, socially and physically, Jake takes on a new mission: using his SEAL Team training over three months of summer to help the youth find his inner warrior.
We were first to report on the package out of Cannes, as Pratt and McG came aboard, also sharing word of the $80M-$85M global deal Skydance locked in with Apple, where the company has a first-look deal. The film will be produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, alongside McG and Mary Viola for Wonderland Sound, and Pratt for Indivisible Productions. Additional producers include Ben Everard for Everard Entertainment, and Willink. Will Staples (Without Remorse) adapted the screenplay.
Cardellini is coming off her starring role opposite Christina Applegate on Liz Feldman’s acclaimed dark comedy Dead to Me, which ran for three seasons, bringing her a pair of Emmy nominations, among other accolades. Also a producer on that series, she’s set to reteam with Feldman on No Good Deed, a new dark comedy from Feldman first announced in 2022, which also stars Ray Romano, Lisa Kudrow, and Luke Wilson. Soon, Cardellini will be seen starring opposite Ben Stiller in David Gordon Green’s comedy Nutcrackers, a project we first reported on, which is set to open this year’s Toronto Film Festival. She’s also the female lead opposite Vince Vaughn in Nonnas, Stephen Chbosky’s forthcoming comedy for Fifth Season and 1Community, which we announced.
Hill made his theatrical debut as Buddy, the young lead of Kenneth Branagh’s Academy-Award nominated and BAFTA winning Belfast — a coming-of-age drama examining a boy’s experience coming of age in late ’60s Northern Ireland amid the conflict known as The Troubles. For his performance opposite Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds, and Caitríona Balfe, he earned numerous awards, including Best Young Actor at the Critics Choice Awards and Best Newcomer at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards. Reteaming with Branagh since then on his Agatha Christie adaptation A Haunting in Venice, Hill will next be seen starring opposite Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen in Amazon MGM Studios’ thriller Holland, Michigan.
Other upcoming Apple Original Films produced by Skydance Media include genre-bender The Gorge starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy; Guy Ritchie’s Fountain of Youth, starring Natalie Portman and John Krasinksi; and the action-adventure film pic May Day with Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh in the lead.
Cardellini is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman; Hill by Berwick & Kovacik, UTA, and Markham, Froggatt and Irwin.

The text of the letter and names of the celebrities that signed it under the cut.
"October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden,
We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.
But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death. They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.
We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.
Sincerely,
