So I recently started reading the translation of ROTBB (or ROTMHS) since I was finally able to find a decent one and I started to realize— we know almost nothing about Chosam.

All we really know about him is his age, his sect and ONE personality trait.

However, I started to think on the third “fact” and I just made myself depressed but I’ll get into it a little later.

First: We know Chosam is 15 - 16 years old given the dialogue from both Chung Myung and the author.

Second: He’s from the Beggars Sect, so he clearly doesn’t have the greatest life since we know how the sect is when it comes to finances and many other issues.

And possibly third: The one personality trait we know of him is that he’s probably pretty laidback since he was claimed to be taking a nap while everyone else went to do their thing.

And that’s when I realized…maybe Chosam wasn’t laidback and taking a nap that day.

I started thinking about Mo Xuanyu and how he became the host for Wei Wuxian’s soul, mind, memories, etc, and he gave up his own soul/life to do so by performing the ritual.

So in short— he had to d!e to bring Wei Wuxian back and grant him reincarnation.

And because of that, it got me thinking much further like I’ve said and I immediately started to get overwhelmed by emotions since my weak heart couldn’t take it.

What if Chosam d!ed of starvation?

The boy was described as “skin and bone but no flesh”  and the Beggars sect isn’t like the Mount Hua Sect or any of the others where you can have three meals a day at a table,

You had to go out and beg for food and whatever you get is your meal or two for the day which clearly fvcking sucks by living in those conditions.

Of course, you have to train your inner qi and form your dantian and that takes a lot of energy, so obviously Chung Myung falling on his face after doing so was expected—

But it could also be from malnourishment since he hadn’t eaten anything since he woke up in his second life and due to the descriptions of Chosam’s physique, it’s more heartbreaking.

And obviously life wasn’t ever easy in the Beggars Sect on the surface but Chosam also most likely had to deal with Jong Pal everyday, getting beaten and abused.

It just hurts thinking about this especially since we don’t know anything about the kid but probably enough to think about what he was like before becoming the host for Chung Myung.

I think I’ve reblogged a post about someone talking about this before and I just got so overwhelmed cause of the thoughts of the practically unknown kid that most likely had a rough, horrible life before finally resting when Chung Myung gave him “freedom” .

I’m just imagining now of the small Chosam hugging the grown Chung Myung in their “shared” body, thanking him for letting his body and most likely memory (despite how tiny it may be) live on.

You can still recognize and know a person by appearance despite their personality and soul changing, giving another a second chance.

I know this is a topic that has been discussed before but I'd love to see how it would play for a Tang Bo return AU. But I like to belive that Chosam was just Chung Myung without memories, at least Personality wise (perhaps something similar to dororo, who was a child beggar, good at scamming, very smart, and a brat).

Wich leads me to, what if the same apply for Tang Bo. Chung Myung find this younger boy who looks like Tang Bo, sound like Tang Bo, think and acts like his dear old friend but it's NOT him. Is a random guy who keeps asking him if they ever met before.

So Tang Bo really like this food/drink that he was able to afford while being part of a wealthy family. And he really really liked it, so Chung Myung this time really tries to spoil this little rascal. And he almost seem to remember. But not yet.

OHHH INTERESTING..??? clearly this kid is tang bo but he just doesnt remember yet.. it took cho sam getting beat hard on the head to remember his memories as chung myung, i wonder what itd take for tang bo to start remembering.... very cute to imagine chung myung spoiling him rotten like he never did in their previous life before he wacks the memories back into him..

First, i haven't read the new updated so far but yikes... Yikes...

Second. What i meant with my last ask is Chosam having a friend hes very close to, but the moment Chung Myung unlock his memories and took ocer the body, he completely forgot about his precious pal, friend, brother. And this not-yet-Tang Bo is left behind feeling betray and abandoned when he asked for Chosam and was told that "he just left".

Years later, he hasn't recovered his memories, and still remembers his stupid ex-best friend Chosam who left hin for no reason and never came back to see him. Then he finds Chung Myung, who's so happy to see that Tang Bo is also alive and tries to reconnect, making him so mad for showing up and pretend he didn't left him.

"What did you do to him?"

"Nothing!"

"Well, you clearly did something bad and didn't even bother to remember"

It'll only be clear when "Tang Bo" finally snaps and calls him Chosam, and then he will realized that he could've been with Tang Bo this whole time... Or at least... A version of him, he stills needs to figure out how to get his memory back.

OHH OK I SEE what an interesting idea..its sad that the tang bo chung myung knew is just outside of his reach.. maybe if he kidnaps him and hits him hard enough with the power of love, they can either overcome this misunderstanding or make an even bigger mess out of it

I don't know if you remember my headcanon of Chosam being just Chung Myung without memories. But wait, what if Chosam have a slightly younger pal he left behind when he got back his memories of being Chung Myung.

And some day out of the blue he finds "Tang Bo" but it turns out that he's just all salty and petty for no reason. Chung Myung is trying to lure him, and spoil him to soften a little, Tang Bo (who has some complicated fellings of being abandoned, yet happy to see him again and doing well, regardless) just rejects all his attempts because he hasn't even apologized, nor given a reason.

While his disciples are all confused and intrigued by what Chung Myung could have done to that boy to make him so mad.

AWW miscommunication in both their lifetimes will they ever catch a break.. so tang bo had his memories before chung myung but still knew it was him but when chung myung got his memories back he didnt recognize tang bo.. if only chung myung knew how to use his big boy words
