[FREE] REMIX ALBUM!
I've made an album out of the Shoji Meguro's Catherine-inspired orchestral remixes I've done, out now on BandCamp. Since most of these are used as battle/boss themes in the game Impossible Cave, if you go to the full album I also threw in 2 original exploration tracks I wrote for that game.

✧ 100 Follower Event ✧
Introduction:
Thank you for 100 followers! It makes me very proud to see that this many people like my content so as a ‘thank you’ I will do a prompt event.
I’ve seen many other writers use desserts or flowers but I felt that it didn’t fit me as a person or my username. So, I decided Classical music pieces because I didn’t have anything else I could think of that wasn’t...Odd. I was originally going to do animals (questionable I know) but decided that something I am well versed in is better instead of a Capybara themed prompt. (I might do animals in the future though for the funny.)
Instructions:
Listed below are some prompts/scenarios and basically you pick the one you want to choose. (There is no limit for the amount of prompts per ask)
For each prompt there is a piece that corresponds to the sentence(s). You can use the number listed or type out the name of the piece when requesting.
Although this isn’t necessary, I prefer that people put the prompt along with the request because it’s a pain to look back before writing.
Additional Rules/Guidelines:
I accept requests until the end of the event. This doesn’t mean that I won’t write your request if it the event is over. For example, let’s say you request during the last hour of the event. This means I will still write for your request despite it being over by the time I start.
I will try to list all the prompts that have been already done to the characters that have been requested. So I hope we won’t get any doubles, but if we do, I’ll just post the link along with the rest of the request.
Prompt list:
Piano (No I’m not putting Für Elise in here because that piece can be burned from how overplayed it is)
1. Clair de Lune - “Don’t leave me! I’ll be all alone if you leave me behind!”
2. Prelude & Fugue No. 21 in Bb Major - “You think you can run away? Why my feet are much faster than your slow ones.”
3. Waltz in C# Minor - “Don’t be sad, I’m here…Let me take your sorrows away.”
4. Invention (13) in A minor - “My heart bled with pain before, but now it bleeds with my love for you.”
5. Moonlight Sonata - “They don’t mean anything! I’m the only one who can protect you and love you properly!”
6. Rhapsody in Blue - “Let me take you away~ All to myself for eternity.”
7. Fantaisie Impromptu - “I may be crazy, but my love for you is definitely not crazy.”
8. Prelude in E Minor - “I love you so much is hurts. My entire life is ruined, and nothing will be fixed if I don’t have you.”
9. Liebestraum No.3 (Personal favorite of mine) - “My dream is to be yours and for you to be mine.”
10. Gymnopédie No.1 - “Life is simple yet tortuous; such as yours and mine. Say, won’t you join me to make both of our lives less ‘life’?”
11. Grande Valse Brillante (When did Chopin write happy pieces?) - “I didn’t kidnap you, you just seemed lonely so I brought you here to live with me. So you aren’t being kidnapped, rather moving in with your one and only.”
12. Waltz (No.19) in A minor - “I am not a monster! People just don’t understand me!”
Orchestra
13. Overture of 1812 (Ah yes the cannons) - “I only harmed them, not kill them. There’s a big difference.”
14. Aquarium {Carnival of Animals} - “I’ve watched you for so long, I just couldn’t wait any longer.”
(From here on out this is going to be just meme classical music)
15. Carmen Overture - “I swear I didn’t killing anybody! Oh, the body in the fridge? Yeah, um...It’s a frozen pig!” (Fun fact one of the FNAF songs sampled a part of this piece)
16. O Fortuna (I’m running out of good ideas) - “Darling here’s some food! No, no, it’s not drugged I promise!” *Is totally drugged*
17. In the Hall of the Mountain King (I listened to this so much as a little kid) - “You dare enter my throne?! Oh wait...You’re more lovely than I assumed.”
18. William Tell Overture - “My love! Come back! You haven’t given me my daily 12 hours worth of cuddles!”
19. Orpheus in the Underworld - “I promise I didn’t steal anything. Well, except maybe a shirt...And eight other pieces of your clothing.
20. Ode an die Freude - “We’re gonna be so happy together I just know it!”
21. Blue Danube Waltz - “Once we get home, everything is going to be peaceful, got it?”
22. Spring {The Four Seasons} (Look I hate violins but I’m seriously running out of good ideas) - “Stay away from them, or I’ll crumble you to pieces.” *laughs cutely while holding weapon*
23. Lacrimosa - “May eternity intertwine our deaths together.”
24. La Danse Macabre - “You hear that? It seems like someone is outside...” *stalker chilling outside*
(My brain isn’t working at all sorry ;-;)
This ends at 12 AM Aug 17 2022 (MT)

MUSIC GAME!
Thanks for tagging me @justmattycakes! :) I just picked my Spotify "Your Top Songs 2019″ playlist to put on shuffle because Spotify won’t let me put my whole music library on shuffle. (And let’s be real, I probably still listen to most of these songs). Also, I’m cheating on the 10 tags.
Rules: Put your entire music library on shuffle and list the first 10 songs that come up. Then tag 10 others to do the same!
Finale - Wicked
Sami - Darren Criss
2002 - Anne-Marie
Theme from Jurassic Park - John Williams
One Last Time - Hamilton
Your Obedient Servant - Hamilton
The Imitation Game - Alexandre Desplat
Etude Op. 40 - Kapustin
Into the Unknown - Frozen II
Piano Sonata No. 2 in Bb Minor - Chopin
Tagging: @melody-fox, @isidar-mithrim, @severelynerding, @thejilyship

Sifting through my music library trying to find just the right thing to listen to. Hoping I find a good used record store while I'm in New York too. Time to expand the collection a bit.

I saw all your asks about the piano and I was wondering what songs you enjoyed playing the most for your friends/family?
I really like playing River Flows in You by Yiruma for my best friends and mother because they both really like the song, and its an easy song to play and remember since its the same chord progression but with different inversions and rhythm patterns.
For dinner parties for my parents or when I get paid, I really like playing Mendelssohn’s Venetian Boat Song (Songs Without Words Op. 30 No. 6), Debussy’s La Fille aux cheveux de lin, Schubert’s Impromptu in Bb Major, Liszt’s Liebestraum no. 3, Chopin’s Waltz in c# minor , Chopin’s Nocturne no. 9 and in c# minor Op. posth. because they are easy to remember, easy to play, and easy to please. I can just turn my brain off and use muscle memory through the evening. Plus since i’m the background entertainment, I don’t have to socialize. I just have to sit there and sound pretty.
I personally really enjoy playing Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2 and Chopin’s Polonaise in Ab Major when I really want to challenge myself; Massenet’s Meditation from Thais, Chopin’s Waltz no. 69 no 2, and Chopin’s Ballade no.1 in g minor when I’m sad; Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag and Tchaikovsky’s Rage Over a Lost Penny (bc this is only second to Mozart’s lick my ass aria) when I’m trying to cheer myself up; Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata mvt. 3 or Tempest Sonata, and Chopin’s Winter Wind Etude when I’m really angry.
I was slowly working my way thru Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Chopin’s Piano Concerto no. 1 in e minor mvt. 2 before heading for college tho so I want finish them when I get a chance.
And before anyone is super impressed, all of these songs are just basically muscle memory and I haven’t actually added to my repertoire in Eons rip. Also I now that no longer have access to a piano so im just a bundle of repressed emotions asdfkdalmkact
#you never realize how much you needed something until it gets taken away#it has gotten to the point where I just listen to other people play and finger along on my laptop#there are dents in my blankets from where I strummed entire concertos#send help#this is very Chopin heavy bc I like late classical/romantic music#and Chopin has some of the most iconic romantic music#also also I linked all of my faves my idols my loves#im just a giant music nerd#ans#recs#piano

30 Day Challenge: Listening to Music
I was watching the latest video by Allysia of Piano TV [I do recommend checking her out, she focuses on piano playing and piano music history, also has a blog] and decided I would join her on her 30 Day Challenge.
The goal is to listen to pieces you haven’t heard before. Not just have them on in the background but actually make yourself pay attention to the music and hear what’s going on as it develops. I recently introduced hundreds of new CDs to my music library, and so this is a great chance for me personally to get myself to listen to pieces I otherwise might not take time for.
Allysia has her own list of composers and she tried to evenly divide her listening into the four major music periods [baroque, classical, romantic, and modern] and has shared her list of pieces she will listen to. Many of those works are pieces I already know well or don’t have in my library, so I changed up what pieces I’d listen to. I kept the same composers for the most part.
If you’d like to join either Allysia or myself, then her list is in the links and my list will be below. I’ll also do a little blog post write up of each work for every day in September. And of course, you can make your own list if you have some pieces in mind that you haven’t listened to but really want to. Wish me luck, and happy listening!
30 Day Challenge:
Bach - Partita no.2 in c minor
Bach - Cantata 201 “Contest between Pan and Phoebus”
Handel - Water Music, suite no.1

I need three contrasting pieces
In that case you want contrast between fast and slow, legato and articulated, and time period (pick three between Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th-century).
I’d suggest something like the following:

or
Bach - Partita no. 6 in E minor, mvt. 7 (relatively fast, articulated, Baroque)Schubert - Sonata no. 4 in A minor, mvt. 1 (fast, mostly legato, Romantic)Shostakovich - Prelude no. 3 in G major from Op. 34 (slow, legato, 20th century)
or
Dussek - Rondo from Sonatina no. 6 in E-flat major (moderate, mostly legato, Classical)Grieg - Sonata in E minor, mvt. 1 (fast, mostly articulated, Romantic)Bartók - Fantasy no. 1 from 4 Piano Pieces (slow, legato, 20th century)
or
Mozart - Sonata no. 9 in D major, mvt. 2 (slow, legato, Classical)Schumann - Sonata no. 2 in G minor, mvt. 1 (fast, legato, Romantic)Scriabin - Prelude no. 15 in E-flat minor (fast, articulated, 20th century)
or
Haydn - Sonata no. 4, mvt. 1 (moderate, mixture, Classical)Rachmaninov - Prelude no. 4 from 10 Preludes, Op. 30 (slow, legato, Romantic to 20th century)Bartók - Allegro barbaro (fast, articulated, 20th century)
or

A Key a Day: Ab Major/F Minor
Hey there! I haven’t been on in forever and probably only reblogged some stuff but I have had 0 time to make the post, also I started school so yeah, these might not be daily as before, I’ll post them when I have time. Well, finally, here’s Ab Major/F Minor!
Also yeah I’ll probably be stealing some of these from @four-flats because she has great taste in music and I have very little pieces in Ab. As with all major keys. (Yeah okay maybe I’m stealing ALL of the Ab pieces from her but... well...)
Ab Major
D. Shostakovich: String Quartet no. 10
J. Sibelius: Finlandia
F. Mendelssohn: Concerto for Two Pianos
F. Chopin: Polonaise Fantaisie
A. Dvorak: String Quartet no. 14
L. V. Beethoven: Piano Sonata no. 31
E. Elgar: Symphony no. 1
F Minor
D. Shostakovich: String Quartet no. 11
A. Vivaldi: Violin Concerto “Winter” from The Four Seasons
D. Shostakovich: Symphony no. 1
P. I. Tchaikovsky: Symphony no. 4
L. V. Beethoven: Piano Sonata no. 23 “Appassionata”
J. Brahms: Piano Sonata op. 5
F. Chopin: Piano Concerto no. 2
Okay I give up. Four flats is not my thing. I don’t know if I’ll be doing Bb Minor (Db Major I’m sure not, because I know really 0 pieces in that key) and if I will I’ll probably mix it up with something else. Coming soon I guess? Next post is probably going to go into the sharp kingdom and Bb Minor is going to be included maybe.
