Choose Joy

He stood right on the edge of the bridge and took a deep breath. He wanted that to be his last. He had enough reasons to commit suicide. Just as he made up his mind to jump, he heard a voice shout "stop!" He turned to see a policeman beckoning to him.
"What are you doing?" He continued, "Do you want to kill yourself?"
The suicidal man promptly responded yes and went on to explain how his wife had left him, his child had been killed in a tragic accident, his investments had dwindled and life was not worth living. The policeman thought on those things for a while. For 30 minutes he told his sad story - then they both jumped!
Depression is a contagious disease spread by listening to sad and depressing stories. No matter how terrible the situation, you should choose joy. Stir up joy in you until nothing can drown it. No tragedy should downsize God's investment of joy in you. Make up your mind today; let no news kill your joy. Let your life be an unending flow of the supernatural. From joy to joy, from glory to glory!

Beautiful parts of my day...
Waking up to the sound of thunder. My goodness that was such a beautiful moment.
Friends who call to process and trust me to sit with them, love them, and be kind in hard places of life.
The book *The Grieving Brain*. My friend Donna, who lost her husband and son in January 2023 in rip current, suggested it to me. As an empathetic listener and life coach...and friend of grieving lovelies...it has been incredibly helpful.
Dark chocolate Hershey's kisses.
My daughter making time to hang out and share marketing wisdom.
My beautiful neighbor Aleide. She works so hard, and she makes sure her kids have the opportunities to participate in really good programs in school that will help in their life success, and despite all she has going on, she always smiles and talks to me when I see her.
Fog. I just like it.
