Pokémon Team-Up: Sand Monsters

Despite coming from three different habitats (Garchomp in caves, Flygon in deserts, and Rhydon in grasslands) these Ground-Type titans all look like they could be some serious kaiju if they were about a hundred feet taller. I can see the three of them charging into battle together with a dangerous sandstorm brewing in their wake. Them some cool beans.

“Chompy”: This nickname was mostly inspired just as a simple pet name for a Garchomp but there are also some in-joke reasons I won’t get into here. Let’s just say the gag came out of an orthodontist’s office and we’ll leave it at that.

“Tremors”: Named my Flygon after the sandworms known as “graboids” from the Tremors series of films. It was either going to be that or “Kevin Bacon.”

“Buster”: My Rhydon is so named because he’ll bust you up. Also it’s in reference to bunker busters, munitions like missiles that are designed to penetrate tough defenses. Also I really can’t stand Rhyperior’s design so I’ve elected to keep my Rhydon as he was when I caught him in the first generation.
