Home, Sweet Home/Home Sweet Home [Dear Friends]/Ulla Pirttijärvi, Tuuni Länsman, & Ursula Länsman - Harukanaru Kokyou/Manami Kiyota - Evanescence (Final Fantasy V, including the “Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon” Memories of a Bygone Day version [1992/2007/1993/2004])

An apt track with an air of mystery + nostalgia merging into comfort, like reaching a milestone (And therefore a good choice for reaching Day 100!). And with such good atmosphere, comes one of the longer entries of the list.

“Evanescence” fulfills my personal criteria for top favorite and as my personal choice for what an ending theme in a Final Fantasy V rerelease should sound like; it’s that good!

MYSTERY DUNGEON FANS PLEASE HELP!

Aside from Shiren, Chocobo, Torneko, and Pokemon...what other Mystery Dungeon games are there? Lots aren't listed on wikipedia and I'm trying my best to find every single "Fushigi No Dungeon" game and play them all!

Why does persona 4 have to be so long i want to start it so bad but i must finish the yakuza series first or else i will kick myself in the ass forever. Boyf and i havent been playing 6 because we hate it and we've just been playing our own games lately but im sure we r gonna love 7 a lot so im crossing my fingers that we can finish 6 soon so i dont veer too far from my yakuza hyperfixation, cuz it is mostly gone rn but i have hope that 7 will bring it back

Stars Above Home

I knew you the moment that I saw you

Joshua and Dion met as children, their connection ignited by an immediate spark. Both the future rulers of their nations, they can only love each other in secret, stealing away fleeting moments in each other’s arms.

One day Joshua receives a stolas from Dion urging him to come meet him in their Hideaway. Yet when Joshua arrives he finds only an empty cabin.

Back in Rosalith dire news awaits from Sanbreque: Emperor Sylvestre Lesage has declared a war on Rosaria— a war that would pit Joshua and Dion against each other on the battlefield.

Worried and driven by the disconcerting feeling of the strange ripples that travel across his soul, Joshua embarks on a journey to Oriflamme with a small party of friends to meet Dion and to prevent the war. But as the mystery of the ripples unwinds, instead of protecting his country, Joshua finds himself fighting for Dion's life.

The wind in the Royal Meadows was frigid, almost wintry, but its bursting gusts pressed on Joshua’s back speeding him on with a vigor brought on by the approaching end of their journey. The past few days they had ridden like driven by a flogging beast with barely a rest in the small hours of the morning. Joshua hadn’t found the will to explain to Jill the need behind the burning haste. Enduring it was hard enough, talking about it…

They crossed off the path to Oriflamme when the city was still out of view, the Penitent’s Gate a mere mirage in the distance, and took on a slower pace along the sloshing seashore. The pristine white wall emerged and along with it, the slew of soldiers like ants pacing its battlements spears catching a rare ray of the sun before the gloomy clouds swallowed the stray.

On the path leading into the city twined a long and disorderly line of merchants and travelers, chocobos and carriages. All waited to be granted entry into the city by the two pairs of guards inspecting every inch of the travelers and their belongings. The great maw of the wrought iron gate was opened for each traveler at a time. 

Joshua’s heart sank.

”The guard has multiplied like weeds,” Jill remarked by his side. ”If they’re looking for us, I think this would do it.” 

She was right. Joshua traced the view carefully and huffed out in frustration, raking a hand through his hair and consequently dusting off some of the ash Jill had used to dye his hair. He hoped it would be enough of a disguise. Whether it was or not, there was only one way to determine it. Joshua spurred Gaia on the move, resolute on crossing the gate if only with will alone. 

Gaia barely got a step in when Althea already thwarted their way. ”Joshua, we can’t get past those gates,” Jill said firmly. ”We can’t take the risk of being found out here. Imagine the glee on Sylvestre’s face when he discovers the one who forcefully crossed the border was none other but the heir of Rosaria.”

Joshua’s voice rang ripe with frustration. ”And what do you suggest we do instead? Dion is…” Joshua gripped the reins so hard the leather of his gloves whined. ”The travel took far too long as it is, the Undying are waiting in Oriflamme. This is our only way forward.” The feeling bled under Gaia’s plumage and she stepped impatiently, enough for Joshua’s attention to switch on to her. When the bird calmed, he noticed from the corner of his eyes the copse by the manned walls. Perhaps not the only way forward, he thought. Surely the passage was still intact.

”The guard in here won’t relent, but in Northreach it might,” Jill said, beckoning Joshua’s attention back on her. ”We can return and send a stolas out to the Undying. It might cost us the afternoon, but avoiding the castle dungeons more than makes up for it.” Jill’s sensibility only managed to annoy him further. All day he hadn’t felt a ripple or an echo of pain; all day he’d been cut off from Dion, stranded in an endless wondering of whether he was dead or alive. Nothing but a wall stood between him and the invaluable intel of the Undying. 

A wall that proved impenetrable in daylight.

Clenching his teeth Joshua stared into the unwavering steel of Jill’s eyes and had no choice but to relent. From the start his duty to Rosaria had been greater than the true desires of his heart. Now was no different.
