Have you ever heard about Tormented Souls?
How about put the Frye twins in the settling?
... Or directly making more chaotic to fuse the AC and Tormented Souls canon in one.
Also, a video resuming Tormented Souls if you don't know it:
https://youtu.be/3pILV3-4T1o?si=tM4es-r9rFVUamMU
When I first saw Tormented Souls, my brain immediately reminded me of Clock Tower 3 so I’m not entirely sure if I’m taking bits from Tormented Souls or from Clock Tower 3 in this situation hahahaha
Anyway, let’s mix them up.
Evie and Jacob are twins who have grown apart after their father’s death. They leave in opposite sides of the world and they’ve lost contact with one another years ago.
Deliberately.
It was a way to distance themselves with the hyper competitive household they grew up with. Staying away from one another helped them grow and see things in a different light.
The annoyance and jealousy they felt to one another blinded them before but, by being apart and living their own lives, they realize they had similar feelings and held similar suffering in the Frye house.
Then they both received a letter.
From their dead father.
So they returned to their childhood home, a mansion that has been with the Frye family for a century or so.
Jacob parks behind and enters through the kitchen because that’s the only key he has. Evie, on the other hand, enters through the front door, pass the expansive hedge garden that had become too overgrown from a decade of neglect.
Neither of them know for sure that the other is coming but…
They had hope.
And hope was the most cruel torture of all.
.
Unorganized Notes:
George Westhouse is an old friend of their father who has been taking care of their home. Or so they thought. It seemed that George has been doing jack shit because the house is filled with dust and the gardens haven’t been tended to.
If this was a game, the player would alternate between Evie and Jacob at given points and an ongoing theme is that they always miss each other.
They both meet a young woman called Lydia who tells them that the house is haunted by the souls of the tormented. They think she’s lost her marbles, especially after she says her name is Lydia Frye. They both know that their father is an only child so, if she was Frye, she had to be a very distant relative.
There’s a labyrinth underneath the basement and that’s where the ‘good stuff’ is.
That’s also where they find each other.
To be more exact… they find their twin, young and already dead.
.
The twist is that this isn’t a time travel setup, this is an alternate world plot set up by an Ethan Frye who lost not just his wife but also his two children.
There are actually 3 alternate worlds in play.
Evie Frye’s alternate world where Jacob died in a fire five years after Ethan Frye’s death.
Jacob Frye’s alternate world where Evie died in an accident while in India with her husband.
They both learn about this during their stay in the house because the house they’re ‘coming home to’ is ground zero of the 3rd alternate world. The world of Ethan Frye who plans to use them as a sacrifice to bring back his family.
One of the things Jacob finds is a letter addressed to him, sent to his world’s old house (and transported into the 3rd world together with Jacob), about the death of Evie Frye and asking him if he would like to come to the funeral in India.
On Evie’s side, it’s actually a newspaper left to rot in one of the rooms with a phone still attached, like someone (George) had wanted to call ‘someone’ to tell them about the fire that killed the famous Maxwell Roth and his rumored lover Jacob Frye.
And Lydia?
Lydia isn’t exactly real. She’s a personification of the worlds mixing with one another, a ghost from an alternate timeline where Evie and Jacob both lived and reconciled. She’s not the real Lydia Frye, granddaughter of Jacob and grandniece of Evie. She’s a ‘what if’ given human form to assist in carving all three timelines away from one another.
And the only way to do it is to kill the insane Ethan Frye before he finished his ritual.
.
.
.
Imma be honest, this started out as Tormented Souls + Clock Tower type situation but turned into a Koudelka inspired idea down the line hahahaha.
Anyway, the ending would probably be Evie and Jacob going back to their respective worlds after a tearful goodbye where they both say what they wished they could have said to their dead twin.
… the good ending anyway.
Of course, in true, survival horror fashion, there’s multiple endings, including one where Ethan wins and he actually revives his dead family. But, well… let’s just say that Ethan Frye was successful in reviving his wife but… it’s not pretty.
#yeah it absolutely went the koudelka route#sorry nonny#i just love that game a lot hahahaha#anyway i hope you still enjoyed this one#assassin's creed#ask and answer#teecup writes/has a plot#fic idea: assassin's creed#evie frye#jacob frye

Later I swim on my back and look up at the sky through the framed glass roof. A vivid blue with white cirrus clouds at an altitude, I'd guess, of about 5000 metres. (The Latin for curl is cirrus.) The curls slowly shift, join, separate as the clouds drift in the wind. I can measure their drift thanks to the roof frame; otherwise it would be hard to notice it. The movement of the curls apparently comes from inside the body of each cloud, not from an applied pressure; you think of the movements of a sleeping body. This is probably why I stop swimming, and put my hands behind my head and float. My big toes just break through the surface. The water below holds me. The longer I gaze at the curls the more they make me think of wordless stories; wordless stories like the stories fingers may tell, but in fact here stories told by minuscule ice crystals in the silence of the blue. Yesterday I read in the newspaper that in Gaza twenty Palestinians were blown to pieces in their homes; that the USA has covertly dispatched 300 more troops to defend their interest in Iraq's oil refineries; that James Foley, an American journalist held hostage by Isis, was beheaded and a video of his execution uploaded to the internet; and that 35 illegal immigrants from India, men, women and children, were found suffocating in a shipping-container on a freighter that had just crossed the North Sea to dock in London. The cirrus is drifting northwards towards the deep end of the pool. Afloat on my back, motionless, I watch it and chart with my eyes the pattern of its undulations. Then the assurance the sight offers changes. It takes me time to understand how. Slowly the change becomes evident and the assurance I receive becomes deeper. The curls of the white cirrus are observing a man afloat on his back with his hands behind his head. I'm no longer observing them; they are observing me.

Pulptober 2024 Day 7: The Phantom/Beyond Their Homeland
This one's for characters who were created in one country, but are primarily associated with another.
The Phantom was created in America, a proto-superhero, but hailing from the fictitious country of Bangalla, originally somewhere near India. For reasons, it was subsequently established to be somewhere in Central Africa.
HIs concept has become...uncomfortable...over the decades. A white dude who pretends to be immortal by passing a nearly identical costume on to his children to fool the superstitious natives, who worship him like a god? Ow. This is why most treatments of the character just avoid ever talking about that issue.
I've reviewed a couple of things with him in it, including a collected volume of the early comic strip.
The strip is still running, by the way.
And then there's this Dynamite Comics miniseries where the current heir to the Phantom legacy retired and married a native woman, only to have tragedy strike.
The jungle drums speak! The Ghost Who Walks shall live forever!

My only flaw as an Indian is to think too much, know too much. My only flaw to being a good Hindu daughter is that I’m bisexual, that I sympathize with muslims, that I speak up about the darkness of the world.
My greatest flaw living in India is my imagination, my thoughts. I cannot think of the outside world for a second until my head is shoved towards my maths textbook. I cannot express my opinions without being seen as a stupid child.
I loath the children in the streets who see not the bigger picture. I feel jealousy crawling up my spine as I look at my classmates praised for their grades behind which they hide their animalistic behavior.
All I can do is ignore and bear it, remind myself every time I look in the newspapers that speak of war and devastation in far lands that there are people out there suffering more than me- how dare I pity myself? I should study, finish the Marathi homework I must give in two weeks. Yet how can my mind focus when all I can see is suffering and tragedy and pain?
I am stuck in a loop and I can’t get out. I am told to think when I get older, but by then I know it’s too late. If i wait i’ll be blinded by bias. If I wait, I’ll be married off to a random boy my parents deem ‘hindu’ enough for me.
But enough about me, what about you?

"Yep. Some people need medication not therapy. By some people I mean Harry."
Some people also need a swift kick up their backside from some courageous member of their family (if there are any)!!
Empress, I'm an Indian woman who has worked as a teacher in India in a govt. aided school for the lower income group of society. I've seen students who are unable to get even 2 square meals per day grit their teeth & study hard to come up in life. They do not complain, act normal, even when being gnawed by hunger yet too dignified to ask or accept charity. I've seen children of families living on the pavements of the streets huddling over to protect their books from the monsoon rains. Their first reaction is to immediately cover their school books with plastic sheets regarless of whether they are getting wet in the rain!
And when I see this brat's constant whinning, I become so furious. I try to take a step back but some times it is impossible!
The newspapers are also to blame to a certain extent. They take up his cribbing & whinning & blow it up as if these two spoilt brats are really suffering!
And the BRF also deserves what they are going through for spoiling and mollycoddling this brat from the get go & never disciplining him!
I hope one day Karma gives these two what these two really deserve!
====
Trust me he has the same effect on me!

On this day:
SUMITRA, SHIVA, AND SHANTI DEVI
On July 19, 1985, in northern India, funeral preparations were underway for a young woman when she sat up in the midst of her grieving family. Upon revival, seventeen-year-old Sumitra insisted her name was Shiva and that everyone around her were strangers. Sumitra had been possessed by disincarnated personalities before, and the family assumed the episode would pass. It didn't, except for a few hours over a year later, when Sumitra briefly regained control of the body.
"Shiva" said she had died, two months previously, during a family argument when she was hit on the head with a brick. Police records supported her claim, documenting that her body, discovered near the railroad, showed evidence of blows to the head. Her family insisted the girl had committed suicide. Sumitra/Shiva went to visit the quarrelsome relatives, and she recognized and named twenty-three of them, even though they tried to trick her. Interviews from fifty-three individuals concluded that she was indeed Shiva. The illiterate village girl Sumitra had become the urban-savvy Shiva.
In 1926, in Delhi, India, Shanti Devi was born. At three years of age, she began to talk of her husband, Kedarnath, and children, who lived in Muttra. When she was seven, her parents took her to the doctor, and when she was eight, her grand-uncle wrote a letter to the referred husband. He was afraid to respond to the letter and sent his cousin to visit the young girl in his place. Shanti recognized him. Newspapers got hold of the story, and an entourage accompanied Shanti as she looked for her previous house. Easily finding it, she remarked that it had been painted and told Kedarnath that she had buried some rings in the garden before she died. He found them. In spite of this, her previous husband and children were not very welcoming to her, and she eventually created a new life for herself.

18 album covers that were banned or censored
Avert your eyes! These rock and metal album covers have been banned or censored so they can no longer offend those with a weak disposition…
August 23, 2021Words:Paul Travers
Rock music has always courted controversy, and so has the packaging that surrounds it. Album covers might not have the impact they once did in this age of streaming and playlists, but they still play a big part in any band’s aesthetic, and sometimes this involves images of sex, nudity, violence, horror, copyrighted material and other content that some people find objectionable.
Plenty of album covers have proven controversial but not all of these have invoked the censors’ ire. This, though, is a collection of album artwork and covers that have at some point been banned, changed, covered up, removed from sale or otherwise censored. Won't somebody please think of the children?!
Guns N’ RosesAppetite For Destruction
Guns N' Roses’ debut initially featured a robotic rapist and his victim, with the robot about to meet his own justice from a flying metal monster. The imagery came from a painting by acclaimed psychedelic artist Robert Williams but was replaced by the band’s iconic Celtic cross design when stores refused to stock it. As a compromise, the original artwork was placed inside the sleeve.
MetallicaKill ’Em All
Would Metallica have had the same impact if their debut album was called Metal Up Your Ass and featured a dagger-wielding hand emerging from a toilet? That was the band’s plan, but title and cover were both vetoed by their label – although they still exist in the form of Metallica’s 1982 demo.
SlayerChrist Illusion
The graphic imagery featuring a mutilated Christ surrounded by severed heads led to some retailers refusing to stock the album, and it being recalled across the whole of India. An alternative cover featuring the Slayer logo and removing most of the detail was later issued.
Cannibal CorpseButchered At Birth
Where to start with Cannibal Corpse?! All their albums were banned in Germany until the mid-’90s due to graphic artwork and content, and some were banned or restricted in other territories including Russia and Canada at different times. We’ll go with Butchered At Birth due to the sneaky trick of distributing early pressings covered in butcher’s paper stamped with the logo and title in red ink. Metal as fuck.
Alice CooperLove It To Death
Alice Cooper was still establishing himself as the king of shock rock, but his band’s third album fell foul of the censors even before the staged executions and songs about necrophilia. The reason was far more juvenile: on the original cover Alice poked a thumb through his cape to make it look like his, uh, snake was poking out. He had his entire arm airbrushed out for his trouble.
Jane’s AddictionNothing’s Shocking
This was also covered in paper – this time brown – when the majority of U.S. record store chains disagreed with the title and refused to stock it. Perry Farrell said that the image of nude female conjoined twins sitting on a rocking chair with their heads on fire came to him in a dream. He’d probably had too much cheese for supper.
BrujeriaMatando Gueros
The masked death metal supergroup had their debut album banned from multiple markets due to its violent content and the cover – which featured a shot of a real severed head taken from a Mexican newspaper. Undeterred, the band adopted the head as their mascot, dubbing it Coco Loco.
TAD8-Way Santa
The grunge band’s second full-length was originally a shot of a couple found in a thrift store, featuring a shirtless guy cupping his partner’s breast. The couple were less than impressed and sued the band, leading to a new cover of TADstanding in front of some presumably less litigious cows.
NirvanaIn Utero
The mannequin on the front and foetus-filled collage on the back were fine, but Wal-Mart had an issue with the title of the track Rape Me and was subsequently changed to ‘Waif Me’ for the major retail chains. As an aside, label DGC wanted the baby’s penis covered up on Nevermind. They relented when Kurt Cobain insisted he’d only do so with a sticker that read, ‘If you’re offended by this, you must be a closet pedophile.’
Dead KennedysFrankenchrist
It wasn’t initially the cover that got the San Francisco punks in trouble but a poster distributed in the sleeve, which featured Alien creator H.R. Giger’s painting Penis Landscape. Frontman Jello Biafra was taken to court for distributing harmful matter to minors and, while he was not convicted, his Alternative Tentacles label was brought to near bankruptcy. The four Shriners pictured on the cover also brought a suit against the band for good measure.
ToolUndertow
It wasn’t the cover in this case but pics in the liner notes of a thin nude man and large women – as well as band members with pins in their heads – that led to the album being pulled from some chains. They reluctantly released an alternate version with a barcode and a handwritten note saying that they loathed censorship (with ‘we want your money’ crossed out), offering to send the original artwork to anyone who wanted it for free.
Red Hot Chili PeppersMother’s Milk
Mother’s Milk features small pictures of the band members positioned in front of a proportionally much larger nude woman. Frontman Anthony Kiedis is in front of one breast and a rose covers the other, but some chains refused to stock the album because there was still too much nudity on display. Cue a revamped version with larger versions of the band covering more of the model’s skin.
Black Label SocietySonic Brew
The Johnny Walker whisky company issued a cease and desist order after Black Label Society’s debut album came out with the cover based on the brand’s Black Label whisky. It was later reissued with a design featuring the band’s skull logo.
Dead InfectionA Chapter Of Accidents
There’s plenty of repulsive stuff in the extreme metal underground, but few covers were as repulsive as the one chosen by Polish goregrind merchants Dead Infection. The shot of a bloated, rotting head was heavily censored on release to show just the band logo and title.
Steel PantherBalls Out
The album was actually left unscathed but advertising posters had to be removed in the UK after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled the Balls Out artwork to be “overtly sexual”. It added that, given the ad's placement in a range of public locations, it was likely to cause serious and widespread offence, and was unsuitable to seen by children.
CKYVolume 1
CKY’s debut album was initially going to be called Camp Kill Yourself after their original name, and the cover featured a painting depicting the infamous public suicide of U.S. politician R. Budd Dwyer. Their label deemed this too offensive, however, and the band were forced to change the cover to a live shot of guitarist Chad Ginsburg instead.
MinistryDark Side Of The Spoon
A nude obese woman in a dunce’s cap sitting facing a blackboard on which repeated lines of ‘I will be God’ are written. That’s probably what Al Jourgensen calls a quiet Wednesday, but the cover of one of Ministry’s druggiest albums proved too much for Kmart, who refused to stock Dark Side Of The Spoon.
Bon JoviSlippery When Wet
Bon Jovi’s breakthrough album was originally meant to feature a woman’s torso with the album name on a wet yellow T-shirt. Apparently this wasn’t even acceptable in the ’80s, so the label insisted they change it to a cover featuring the title spelled out on a wet black bin bag. Obviously.

Extract from New Youth Newspaper, published by anonymous student protestor, 06/05/1919:
Whirlwinds of Danger
Whirlwinds of danger are raging around us, O'erwhelming forces of darkness assail, Still in the fight see advancing before us, Red flag of liberty that yet shall prevail.
Then forward ye workers, freedom awaits you, O'er all the world on the land and the sea. On with the fight for the cause of humanity. March, march ye toilers and the world shall be free.
Women and children in hunger are calling, Shall we be silent to their sorrow and woe? While in the fight see our brothers are falling, Up then united and conquer the foe!
Then forward ye workers, freedom awaits you, O'er all the world on the land and the sea. On with the fight for the cause of humanity. March, march ye toilers and the world shall be free.
Off with the crown of the tyrants of favor! Down in the dust with the prince and the peer! Strike off your chains, all ye brave sons of labor! Wake all humanity, for victory is near.
Then forward ye workers, freedom awaits you, O'er all the world on the land and the sea. On with the fight for the cause of humanity. March, march ye toilers and the world shall be free.
Africa murmuring under the slave-whip, India challenging her plunderers' crime, Ireland who hurled out the alien oppressor. Rally against your own exploiters in time!
Then forward ye workers, freedom awaits you, O'er all the world on the land and the sea. On with the fight for the cause of humanity. March, march ye toilers and the world shall be free.
Now while in secret our rulers are plotting Furies of slaughter to stave off their fall. Only united the people can thwart them Shatter their war designs and bring peace to all.
Then forward ye workers, freedom awaits you, O'er all the world on the land and the sea. On with the fight for the cause of humanity. March, march ye toilers and the world shall be free.

I found no pages dedicated to Prince Albert or Eddie in tumblr, so I wanted to ask here if is not a problem.
I read a theory a while ago that Eddie died due to syphilis and that his brother George got sick around the same time as his brother, but luckily he recovered.
Now, I remember reading somewhere that Eddie and George used to share mistresses.
Could it be that George too had syphilis when he got sick at the same time his brother did, and it was probably the same mistress that got them both infected?
They said George had typhoid fever, but then again they said the same for Eddie, to cover his true illness.
Was it syphilis or was it typhoid fever what got the two brothers almost killed, almost in the same time? Are there other theories?
Thank you
I do not mind answering a question about Albert Victor! I do think it was rumored that he died from syphilis, but that's not true.
From my understanding, AV died from influenza (which I think is what the newspaper said also). He did have gonorrhea at some point but was treated for it. I heard somewhere that he caught the disease in India but who knows.
The reason that historians feel confident to confirm that AV actually did have a sexual disease is because there is a surviving letter from the prince to his doctor describing his symptoms which resemble gonorrhea.
I feel like a few ask have brought up conspiracy theories recently and sadly I am boring and tend to not believe them. I just think royals (especially in those days) have too many people around at all times for a lie that interesting to be kept.
I am also not really aware of the ins and outs of syphilis, but I feel like it would have affected George's wife and children (if he had it) so very unlikely.

Lot of people still don’t realise it, 9/11 just didn’t impact American millennials/80/90s born children of the time but it impacted everyone around the world! Overnight the news was on every Indian television, images of the attack on printed in colour on newspapers, our classroom was full of talks of evil terrorists!
I was 8, growing up in an already “terrorist/insurgent prone zone” patrolled by the Indian Army; the attack simply amplified our fear in our civilians and increased the so called security leading upto more surveillance!
Collectively everyone was unconsciously looking for bombs everywhere, parents were worried about surprise attacks, public transport gained more security checks, airports turned into literal human scan centres and all this happened in my part of India because—as if the Twin Towers had existed on our land.
Now that we have grown up with this constant borrowed tragedy, watched countless tales of the event from different pov, and at last looked at the atrocities done by The US around the world, it becomes really disturbingly difficult to sympathise with the actual victims without thinking about—what about people in Iraq, what about people in Latin America, what about people in Vietnam. Innocents died everywhere— but why do we only mourn one set of human tragedy?
As someone around for 9-11 and the "NEVER FORGET NUMBER #1 GREATEST TRAGEDY EVER IN HISTURY" response to it I am in thrilled and invigorated by the fact that younger people just make amogus memes and TikTok nonsense about it. A huge chunk of America cared more about it than any entire genocide and thought you would cry learning about it. They hoped it'd make every generation patriotically angry forever and ever and want to join the military. Instead you Photoshop the towers into squidwards house and shit. Never stop lol
