Among the cornerstone initiatives is the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Passenger Ropeway, an ambitious project set to enhance tourism connectivity between Panaji and Reis Magos. Complementing this, the inauguration of a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa further underscores the commitment to sustainable development in the state. In addressing employment needs, Prime Minister Modi distributed appointment orders to 1930 new government recruits across various departments during the Rozgar Mela, while also providing sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, ensuring inclusive growth and empowerment at the grassroots level. Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar (13 December 1955 – 17 March 2019) was an Indian politician and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party who served as Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 until his death. Previously, he was Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2019. He also served as the Minister of Defence from October 2014 to March 2017. In January 2020, he was posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan.

Goa CM inaugurates public EV charging station installed by CESL
The Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station Thursday, as part of the Green Goa Initiative. The EV charger has been installed by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) at the Assembly Complex of Goa Legislative Secretariat. It is a 142 KW fast charger and is first among the 12 public EV chargers to be set up by CESL. The Chief Minister also flagged off two Electric Vehicles — a Hyundai Kona and a Tata Tigor from Goa Legislature Secretariat, Assembly Complex, Porvorim. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, said, “The Goa government is hoping to set an example for the nation by emerging as a frontrunner in electric vehicle standards. Statistics have shown that with the rise in the number of vehicles in the state, there has been a rise in the air pollution levels. If pollution is to be reduced, it is necessary to move to electric vehicles. With this collaboration, I hope we will be able to meet the charging infrastructure requirements of the state.
