WoW has such a variety of men, and one of them IS in fact the peak of masculinity.
Archmage Khadgar was the blueprint. The prototype. The early example.
Chief Telemancer Oculeth is the ideal man.

Note
TT - You could have dinner with any three people in entire world, alive or dead, who would they be and why?
Talthorn thinks about this. "Aside from my captivating husband." he decides as he felt that was just a given. "I have so many people on that list...and just Azeroth?" "Oooo, I think I would adore a full dinner with the master Chief Telemancer Oculeth for starters! I find him exceptionally brilliant and it is rare I can speak advanced theory in that field of study often! It might turn into a weekend of crazy old men adventures with our outlandish ideas, but I am sure that is fine. " "The second would be my mother. I would love to be able to talk to her again! She would have just as much to talk about as me I am sure of it. With my luck, she's very much still alive and I just don't know it!" "And last but certainly not least. My….son." He pauses abruptly, adding in the last part with a forced smile. "I miss him. More than words can ever say."
(Thanks for the ask @theconstructsworld ! )

Day #147 of things I love about WoW:
Oculeth, purely for these two instances alone. I did a double take when I read his quest text in Nazjatar because he ~ does ~ actually magic you into the middle of the ocean during the Suramar story. It's such a fun bit of continuity.

Oculeth in the beginning of the Nazjatar questline... catches the champion from plummeting to their death down a waterfall, you can practically hear them having half a heart attack... then rambles on about fascinating magic as though they all didn't just almost die a while ago, before going "oh right, I was supposed to get you down there safely" and then, instead of letting the champion levitate all the way down in that magical bubble of his, he fucking drops them once he determines that the water below is deep enough.
I stan one (1) chaotic mage.

Silliest thing you’ve ever said?
Thank you for your question.
I think the silliest thing I’ve ever said has been that I could teleport a whale into the nighthold from Shal’aran.

Highborne Cities - The Suramar Region
Tumblr media
While the Nightborne kept Suramar City’s culture and history alive for well over ten thousand years, the region immediately outside the city fell deep into obscurity. Other than the names of several outlying ruins, hardly any historical information about ‘old Suramar’ has survived. Having said that, though, there are Nightborne such as Chief Telemancer Oculeth – who once owned a workshop and telemancy lab just north of the city – that can recall a time in old Suramar before the War of the Ancients [Quest: Oculeth’s Workshop].
The Ruins:
Ambervale
Dawncleft
Falanaar
Meredil
Ruins of Elune’eth
Sashj’tar Ruins
Tel’anor
Ambervale
Ambervale is the location of Koralune Manor [Page: Ambervale]. Little else is known about this ancient ruin.
Dawncleft
Tumblr media
Aside from its original name, little is known about this ancient ruin [Quest: Scouting the Crimson Thicket]. The Kel’balor leyline feed can be found under Dawncleft [Page: Kel’balor].
Falanaar
Like most cities in Suramar, the bulk of Falanaar sits atop a portion of the Arcway, a vast network of tunnels that were built for the purpose of tapping into and channeling the leylines running beneath the entire region [Quest: Tapping the Leylines]. Unlike other nearby towns, however, the tunnels under Falanaar are home to not just one, but two leyline feeds: Falanaar North and Falanaar South [Achievement: Leyline Bling].
The Temple of Fal’adora in Falanaar served as a temple to Elune [NPC: Chief Telemancer Oculeth Dialogue].
The ancient citizens of Falanaar often carried Falanaar Crescents. It is not known exactly why they did so, but the crescents are considered powerful talismans even today [Item: Falanaar Crescent].
Meredil
Tumblr media
Meredil, a set of ruins atop Shal’Aran, may have once housed an Arcan’dor prior to the Sundering. One of the members belonging to the organization of proto-druids that created the Arcan’dor trees, Keeper Selentia, is initially found guarding a dead tree stump in Shal’Aran [Quest: Arcane Thirst]. Furthermore, the player’s Arcan’dor seed fits into the pedestal of the tree stump perfectly, as if it was meant to be placed there [Quest: The Valewalker’s Burden]. Thalyssra also surmises that the massive amount of leyline energy fed into the chamber was for whatever the Keeper was guarding [Quest: Shal’Aran]. Since the current Arcan’dor subsists off of the leyline feeds flowing into Shal’Aran, it may not be too much of a stretch to assume that an ancient Arcan’dor did much the same thing and that Shal’Aran was built to hold an Arcan’dor.
It is not clear what happened to this original Arcan’dor, if there was indeed one there. However, because it does not resemble Falanaar’s fallen Arcan’dor, it may not have failed in the same spectacular manner. In fact, it is more likely that the Arcan’dor was abandoned (except by the Keepers, who were charged with maintaining and keeping watch over it, hence why Keeper Selentia has guarded it even in undeath) or destroyed during the War of the Ancients.
Ruins of Elune’eth
Little is known about this ancient ruin.
Since the Ruins of Elune’eth are located just above Meredil and Shal’Aran, it’s possible that they were all originally a part of the same city.
Sashj’tar Ruins
Tumblr media
Sashj’tar was once a research community [Item: Scroll of Town Portal: Sashj’tar].
Tel’anor
Tumblr media
Tel’anor is a massive cemetery city located just north of Suramar. Before it was abandoned during the War of the Ancients, it was customary to bury fallen elves of significance there. Many ancient elven heroes and warriors are still interred in Tel’anor today [Page: Tel’anor].
The burial city’s ancient caretakers once performed rituals to venerate the dead using sacred oils, burial shrouds, and incense [Quest: Tools of the Trade]. Burial urns filled with mementos belonging to the deceased additionally served to keep the fallen placated and prevent any unhappy spirits from rising [Quest: Fragments of Memory].
Tel’anor is also home to a large set of windchimes known as the Chimes of the Moon. According to a plaque at the site, the Sisters of Elune believed that whenever the Chime rang, it emitted the same note as the one Elune was singing at the time. However, it is said that the Chime did not ring often [Object: Plaque].

For @lurkingowlkitten and @horde-at-war (pictured are my Sila and Meng)
Sila placed her polearm aside and removed her helmet. She stepped aside, so Meng could take her place opposite Othorion.  A grin appeared on her face. “Come on, boys. This is no time to be slacking off. The magisters are preparing, the Farstriders are preparing and we have to do the same.”
Meng glared at the energetic blond elven woman standing at the side. Memories resurfaced, memories of another time Quel’thalas found itself threatened. The Blood Knight order didn’t even exist yet at the time. “There better not be a traitor hiding among those magisters again.” He parried Othorion’s attack and prepared to retaliate.
“Or a traitor amongst our royal family?” Sila chuckled. “Which we no longer have?” Her grin disappeared from her face shortly after. Those had been the darkest times. Everyone was tense, preparing for the inevitable assault on Quel’thalas. She tried to keep a lighthearted demeanor to defuse the tension, but it was merely a mask to hide her worries.
Meng knew that of course. They fought side by side so many times they knew each other very well. Sometimes the depth of that knowledge was even annoying. Sila handed both Meng and Othorion some refreshments when it was time to take a break. The latter threw a glance at the stairs that led to the Court of the Sun. Small groups of Nightborne, led by a Blood elven guide, came from Sunfury Spire on a tour around the city. Othorion readjusted his ponytail as he glanced from the Nightborne at his sparring partners. “More and more Nightborne are visiting the city of late. Have they come to help us secure it, or are they just tourists?”
Sila followed his gaze and finished her drink before she answered his question. “Most of them are just tourists, I’ve heard. Now that Suramar is no longer cut off from the rest of the Azeroth a lot of the Nightborne want to get reacquainted with the rest of the world. Considering our people know what they are going through, many Nightborne feel Quel’thalas is a good place to start. I heard Chief Telemancer Oculeth has provided a portal they can use to travel safely.”
Othorion arched an eyebrow. “And how do you know this?”
Sila shrugged. “It’s not like this is all a secret, Otho. I talk to people, maybe you should try it?” She playfully poked him in the shoulder.
Othorion glared at his fellow blood knight. “Very funny, Sila. Maybe you should try to talk less?” It was a jest of course. He wouldn’t be disrespectful to her, not after she helped him during a training mission in the Tirisfal Glades.
“We should continue our training.” Meng interrupted their squabble and assumed a fighting stance. He knew from own experience Sila could be quite the tease, but she did it out of affection and her teasing was well meant. If she wasn’t her cheerful and bubbly self something was wrong. He’d seen her mood change drastically after the Battle for Lordaeron, so it was good to see her spirits lifted again.
Before they could actually resume their training Lord Solanar Bloodwrath approached the trio of knights. They saluted him respectfully. He nodded to acknowledge their respect for him. “You are to report to the Blood Hall immediately. Lady Liadrin has new orders for you.”
“Yes, my Lord.” The three blood knights saluted the commander and gathered their weapons and gear, to follow his orders immediately. They shared a few tense glances as they rushed towards the blood knight headquarters.
It was beginning.
