Headcanon: I’ve mentioned this before but I fully believe both Chiaki and Gundham to be on the autism spectrum. I believe this with all of my heart-

Chiaki is extremely fixated on video games, seems to struggle to find / use metaphors that others understand, and though she rarely offends people she has little issue getting straight to the point. She always struck me as being somewhere on the spectrum. Though some could argue that this is because she’s a digital-being(?), I disagree, seeing as characters like Alter Ego don’t seem to have the same struggles.

Gundham has a hard time relating to people, finds comfort in animals far more than friends, and is just…generally very distinct. He doesn’t seem to realize that others judge him for the persona(?) he puts on, and also seems to struggle socializing (you can see this a lot in his free time events, and on the many occasions where he tries to socialize with others [for example, when he sees Kazuichi and Hajime talking in the diner at the beginning of chapter 2, he tries to join the conversation- only to immediately insist he was not worried or lonely in any way when Kazuichi brushes him off]).

I also think geadcanoning Gundham this way makes his ship with Sonia that much better. Assuming Sonia isn’t also on the spectrum, she seems to struggle with getting accustomed to the unfamiliar culture around her…so she could probably relate to Gundham’s similar feelings of not belonging.

Also, I’ve noticed that he wears a very heavy outfit, which could be a sensory thing to be honest!

But in conclusion, to be an Ultimate you have to be really really fixated on a specific skill and as such who’s to say that every single ultimate isn’t autistic

Yoshino's feelings are straightforward, organized in a series of books properly and maybe some bonus side stories if you feel like it.

Hatori, despite the abundance of it, you have to obtain a degree in Archaeology major in Yoshiyukiology and track down and dig the depths of the internet to collect them, and the Hatori novels are basically having One major discovery. He knows where it all is but god forbid he be straightforward about it.

Yanase, you have to travel, not to the novels, nor the SiH main manga, nor its side stories, but to another series. Because we only have two Yanase side stories in the SiH series. He has to be that far away before he start talking about his feelings.

You'd never thought you'd attract the attention of a girl, much less two, much less two incredibly rich and famous Hollywood actresses that just so happened to go to the same school as you but life has its surprises

It all started simple enough. Both Emma and stella started to hang out with you. Sometimes, one of them would eat lunch in the cafeteria with you, and the other walked with you after school, you became good friends with the both of them.

Little did you know that they both were actually crushing on you super hard and were testing the water before starting to actually flirt with you, those compliments that you interpreted as them just being nice were actually the first signs of those crushes.

Eventually, they were ready to finally ask you out and had the same idea. They were going to invite you on the set of one of their movies

Stella was about to approach you to ask but saw you were already talking with Emma, so she raised her sunglasses and got closer

"It's gonna be great so what do you-"

"Oh pardon I wanted to talk with y/n"

They also made sure to show you how much better they were than the other, making comments about how "emma/stella could never, she's just way too confident in herself if she thinks she can bag a cutie like you~"

After the dates, you told them you needed more time to think about which one you liked more. They actually took that pretty well and gave you time to think

The actual reason that they took it so well was because they understood it just gave them more time to court you, a thing which became apparent when the following day you opened your doorstep to see a pile of roses with a note signed "Emma magorobi" with a stain of lipstick

And also when the next day you received a box of very expensive chocolates with a note this time signed "stella hoshinari" with a similar lipstick mark

And it was with this that the second phase of their fight for you started, absolutely spoiling you rotten with gifts

Both of them were rich and had absolutely no problem spending all of their money if it meant to get with you and beat her competitor

They brought you everything you could think and more, flowers, sweets, videogames, clothes, and way way more, they subtly asked your friends for what you wanted and the next day it suddenly appeared on your front door

One time you brought them to a store in hopes of getting them to hang out and maybe become friends.....it didn't help

"Hey y/n, do you like this shirt? I've seen it and I think it will look adorable on you"

"Not as adorable as these pants I picked out"

"Oh, I suppose they do look cute. You don't mind if I buy them too, right? After all, I doubt you can afford them"

While all of this was happening, you were thinking about them too, and which one you liked more. They were both incredibly beautiful and equally rich it seemed but not only that

You noticed how.....nice they both were, not only to you but also to the staff or just random people they met, they never declined autographs or selfies when they were recognized and thanked their fans with such sincerity in their voices, they were so sweet and kind, like the opposite of those stereotypical celebrities, and you couldn't deny that that was probably what made you love them equally

And one day you finally told them just that

"I'm sorry but I can’t choose between you two, you're both so beautiful and nice, I love both of you equally, I know it's dumb and so feel free to just leave me alone, I'd much rather stay alone than break the heart of one of you"

Sayaka's situation with you is unique, to say the least. If you don't know about the Love Live franchise and how each of the fictional idols has their seiyuu (voice actor) actually perform as them and be super involved and all that, well now you do. This au is essentially exactly like that with Sayaka as a seiyuu, but with two possibilities depending on your gender.

If you're the same gender as her, she knew from the moment your seiyuu auditions were posted that she HAD to voice you. You were just... perfect for her, y'know? It's strange to say, but when she saw you, it suddenly clicked in her mind what having a soulmate feels like.

The problem is, she wasn't given the role. Those bastards for some stupid reason decided to cast her as some other chick??? Instantly, she becomes her own character's number one hater. They're nowhere near as cute as you are! And if there's ever any drama between her character and you in the story, oh boy. Prepare to find her on an anonymous post ranting about how you deserved better, how that bitch was so, so mean to you. Just trashing her to no end.

But no matter how much she hates her character, it's nothing compared to the burning rage and loathing she feels towards your seiyuu. How dare they steal you away from her? God, she'd totally get rid of her by trashing her social image if she could. When you're an idol, all it takes is one unflattering image to get leaked, one photo of you on a date with a mystery man... It would be so stupidly easy. But then you would get haters too, and she'd never hurt you. And so, poor Sayaka has to just grit her teeth and silently seethe while acting like nothing's wrong.

If you're not the same gender, on the other hand, she actually ends up quite happy in whatever role they give her. To be honest, she doesn't exactly care for it all that much, but the boost it gives to her career? Priceless.

But then the producers come up with this idea to release a new idol group that's... not girls? In this economy? Needless to say, she's adamantly against it. After all, the fanbase likes them for being female idols. If they diverge from that, the franchise's popularity will tank (and hers, of course, but she doesn't say that out loud). Still, they carry on with the idea, which is where you come in.

She wants to hate you so so bad. It's your fault that her followers went down 10% overnight and her dms are flooded with pissed-off fans lashing out. It's only fair, right? So why is her hand hovering over the 10 pull button? Why is your adorable face lighting up her screen after she spent a disgusting amount of money on you?

Sayaka still resents the other characters in your group, but you... Well, she can handle being a little less popular if it's for your sake.

-Kyoko-

When people at her school think of Kyoko, they imagine her cool, collected exterior. They think of her high grades and the way she calmly handles any situation thrown at her.

What they don't imagine is her staying up till midnight, staring at her computer screen and meticulously spinning around a 3d model of you—and definitely not the various, uh, angles she stops at. The thing is, it's not even sexual or anything on her part. She just genuinely is so interested in knowing every little detail about you that she fails to recognize how easily misinterpreted her actions could be.

There isn't a single piece of dialogue of yours that she doesn't have both written down and analyzed thoroughly. In this au, she actually gives up entirely on the whole detective shtick in pursuit of programming, all so she can get that juicy insider info. Not that anybody but her is privy to this information. To outsiders, she just looks like the same old genius Kirigiri.

Another thing about her is her insane dedication to rituals surrounding you. She will NEVER miss her dailies, new cards/skins for you, your birthday, etc. Girlie could be in a hospital and still manages to log in. The very definition of loyalty.

Ah, Chiaki. Even in a modern au, she's still a total nerd.

When news came out about a new game release, naturally, she pre-registered immediately. No matter what genre your game is, it captured her interest all the same. She's just a pro gamer like that.

To be honest, the game you're in isn't exactly... the best. It's awful, to be frank. Every screen takes way too long to load, it crashes at least once per gaming session, and the actual gameplay mechanics just suck. Yet, somehow, she keeps playing, all because of your voice cheering her on over and over. She kinda Stockholms herself into loving the game. Sure, it's lagging... but that just means she has more time to stare at you and admire your art. So what if resources are too scarce and you have to grind for eternity? That's more time with you, gosh dang it!!!

Chiaki, being her sleepy self, is part of the body-pillow squad—or at least, she would be if your game was good enough to warrant such merchandise being sold. There are people that take commissions for those sorts of things, but for some reason ordering one of you never works out for her? Whether it's shipping issues or some other random thing, it's like fate is working against her. Poor girl has to just tape a photo of you onto a pillow and call it a day.

-Mikan-

You know how a lot of people turn to fiction as a way of coping with real-life trauma? Yeah, that description fits Mikan perfectly. The public school system and its inhabitants aren't exactly kind to her, and neither is her home life. For so long, she simply accepted being treated like garbage because, well, nobody taught her not to. Until you came along.

You are something so terribly precious to her, being the only person who speaks to her kindly, as well as the only part of her life she actually has control over. She needs you. Mikan likes to think you need her too. After all, your game has quite a lot of parasocial mechanics. You tell her good morning every day, confide in her about your troubles, and even have an affection meter (which is always maxed out on her account). Don't you get sad and lonely if she doesn't log in? Don't you look forward to talking to her, just like she does for you? Please say you rely on her. Give her a reason to keep going.

Mikan's one of the heavy daydreamer types. She kind of has to, with how horrific her real life is. It's the only way she can survive. Out of all of her fantasies, though—of which there are several—her absolute favorites are ones where you're sick. Admittedly, they can get a little... much, with how poor your health is in them. The more ill you are, the more you'll depend on her. The more valuable she is. Don't worry, though. In all of her fantasies, one thing remains the same; you're fully taken care of and cherished so incredibly deeply.

-Tsumugi-

I'm gonna be real. If you know Tsumugi, then whatever you're imagining this version of her is like, you're probably exactly right. Yes, she's absolutely insane about her obsession with you. Yes, she's handmade countless cosplays of you, one for every single outfit you've worn. And yes, she makes incredibly obscure references to you/your game every two seconds. But that's the surface-level stuff. So let's dig a little deeper into this one and explore the less-obvious.

It's easy to imagine her treating you the way she canonically does her standard favorite fictional characters throughout V3, but... if she's this in love with you, her passion is far from even her definition of normal. This is a passion that matches how her canon counterpart feels towards Danganronpa. And just like the canon, it's going to take her to a dark, dark place.

She latches onto you like a damn leech, making her entire personality revolve around being your number one fan. It's like her entire life before you got wiped out of existence. Nothing in the world matters more than you do. And yet it keeps turning. Her parents' expectations keep weighing Tsumugi down, demanding time and energy she isn't willing to give to anyone else but you. They're always nagging her about doing the chores, doing her homework, going to school every day. Always something she's supposed to do and something she's doing wrong.

So, she fixes the problem. One night, she packs up her belongings with the prepared excuse of a mandatory school trip. When the police call her phone on the way there and mention a house fire, Tsumugi does a damn good job at playing the sweet, innocent girl who's learning for the first time that her family suffered an unfortunate "accident". She has to, cause if they ever found out the truth, how could she keep up with your game's updates?

I wish I could say she feels even the tiniest bit of remorse for her actions, but she doesn't. She just doesn't. If anything, she feels relieved that her parents are finally out of the picture. Everyone treats her so gently now, so carefully, no longer daring to judge her or tell her what to do. Even her teachers back off and don't point out when she's on her phone mid-class, doing her dailies for you.

Eventually, this dream life she's living will inevitably shatter and fall apart. Maybe the police investigation reveals the truth behind that cursed fire, or maybe her facade simply breaks on its own. But for now, here you two are, now very truly alone in each other's company.

I always get so confused when people say that the reason Izuru cries when Chiaki dies in Danganronpa 3 is because "deep down inside, his inner Hajime remembered chiaki" because that's never been implied. He doesn't cry because he remembered her deep down, he cries because he CAN'T remember her no matter how hard he tries.

Izuru isn't some emotionless husk, he does feel things and it actually makes him sad being the way he is.

So seeing someone reach out to him so desperately genuinely made him sad because because this person who was seemingly once so important to him was just an afterthought now. She's supposed to be important to him, so why can't he remember? Did he really forget something that mattered so deeply to him in a world where everything that brings him happiness is fleeting? It's so easy to portray Izuru as calm and calculated person who's always bored and feels nothing but that's just not who he is and he's more than that. Izuru is a person who's so smart that nothing interests him anymore because he knows everything, and that's depressing to him.

• Senku first met [Name] on their first day of high school. Back then, she had bumped into him in the hallway while playing a video game and wasn't paying attention to where she was going. When Senku annoyedly reprimanded her, she ignored him, but when he suddenly mentioned the game she was playing, [Name] enthusiastically pounced on him with questions.

• They ended up spending the whole day together - the girl simply didn't want to leave her new acquaintance, who, although he wasn't as interested in games as she was, was well versed in them. Senku, in turn, was almost annoyed by [Name] at first, but quickly got used to her and even at some point realized that he even liked being with her.

• They start to become friends - this is, of course, a rather strange friendship, which is not at all like Senku's relationship with Taiju or Yuzuriha, but at first he tries not to think about it - until he realizes that he feels something very strong and irrational for [Name]. This seriously irritates him, but at the same time Senku can't resist it, which makes the situation even more complicated.

• There will be a serious conversation about feelings, and that's when the confession will happen - and then their kind of friendship becomes a full-fledged relationship.

• They never go on traditional dates; they are more satisfied with regular meetings at home (usually Senku's), which end in game nights.

• Senku is most likely very good at games, better than most people [Name] has met, and is a very intelligent person in his own right, which makes it very interesting for her to play with him.

• Senku probably tries to get [Name] to help him with his experiments, but eventually gave up on this idea - the girl was daydreaming most of the time and was very absent-minded, which is why she could accidentally hurt herself.

• However, when Senku himself is injured, this makes [Name] put aside her dreaminess and become serious - she begins to scold him and treat his wounds (albeit a little clumsily). Although Senku grumbles about this, he is actually very pleased that she cares about him.

• By the way, out of all the clubs, [Name] will most likely choose the Science Club - but don't get the wrong idea, it's not because its president is her boyfriend, and he will do her favors and let her play video games during club activities!

• Senku is extremely annoyed and worried about [Name's] sleep pattern. Of course, he himself is hardly any better - he sits up late at night experimenting and sometimes completely forgets about rest, but at least he has more or less control over it, unlike his girlfriend, who falls asleep at every opportunity - in class, during club activities, once she fell asleep while they were literally walking! To be honest, he's thinking about giving her a sleeping pill.

• He's also worried that she might forget to breathe while playing. Of course, Senku has a scientific interest in this phenomenon, but, for the most part, he's just worried about his girlfriend's health!

• Senku would introduce [Name] to his father via video call since he was in space. Byakuya and [Name] got along well, talking mostly about old games that even Senku didn't know about. Eventually, when the girl (once again) fell asleep, Senku finally revealed the reason why he introduced her to Byakuya. His father's shocked expression, subsequent giggling, and the embarrassing questions that began were quickly cut short by the call ending, but it didn't save the young couple from being questioned during the next call.

Ryusui Nanami;

❛❛ Haha! Now I get it! After all, you're not called the Ultimate Gamer for nothing! I want you, [Name]! ❞

❛❛ Huh? Thank you, I guess... ❞

• Ryusui has always been interested in games, so when he hears about a certain gamer called the "Ultimate" he can't help but feel interested and excited.

• He uses all his resources and before a week has passed, the mysterious gamer is found - a certain girl named [Name], whose last name, ironically, is the same as his.

• It doesn't take long to arrange a meeting either: the next day, Ryusui finally meets [Name], a quiet and withdrawn girl, for the first time, and then convinces her to play with him. He loses every round, but it doesn't upset him at all - meeting such a strong opponent excites him.

• Ryusui ends up inviting [Name] over and over and over again, and they become friends, sort of.

• Over time, Ryusui notices that his love for [Name] is starting to feel different from his love for other women and men. One serious conversation with Francois puts everything in its place.

• Ryusui confesses immediately. If [Name] doesn't reciprocate his feelings, he will do everything to change her mind until he gets what he wants - but that most likely won't happen. In any case, hooray, they're together!

• Ryusui showers [Name] with gifts. The most expensive game in the world? Please! A game that only has seven copies in the world? Here, take three! An ancient game that has no records left? It was a bit difficult, but I got them! It's probably nothing special - just his love language - but [Name] still can't quite get used to the fact that she can easily have any game in the world.

• Of course, Ryusui doesn't just give [Name] games. Games are nice, but they'll never compare to a small, sincere gift. For example... The pixelated hairpin she now wears all the time. That was also a gift from Ryusui - but [Name] likes it more than any game, even the rarest one.

• Ryusui is a little worried about [Name]'s physical condition and some of her bad habits. She is very pale, can fall asleep at any moment, and sometimes even forgets to breathe! He will probably immediately find the best doctor who will tell him exactly if everything is really okay with his girlfriend and whether she needs to somehow change her lifestyle.

• Ryusui loves traveling, especially on his own ships, and he really, really wants [Name] to finally do it with him. He makes her leave all her games at home and takes her on his yacht, prattling on about how beautiful the weather is today. At first, the girl seems very bored, but then Ryusui's adventurous spirit rubs off on her. Either way, it was a fun adventure.

• [Name]'s family never celebrated Hinamatsuri, or Girls' Day, a doll festival where girls are supposed to pray for their health and success, because they just didn't think it was necessary. Ryusui was completely shocked when he found out about this, and felt it was something that needed to be fixed, so for the next festival he bought the most expensive dolls, a gigantic amount of sweet rice crackers and mochi, and personally prayed for [Name]'s well-being, and Francois joined him!

• Ryusui's family obviously didn't like his choice of partner very much, but of course they wouldn't like any choice he made, so it's not worth worrying about too much. Francois, on the other hand, are very nice to [Name]; they like the fact that she genuinely loves their master for who he is. Then there's Sai, but [Name] has seen very little of him so far. Even so, they were able to get along since they both loved games. Who knows, maybe [Name] can even help the Nanami brothers understand each other..?

when u and modern!mizu first got together, u guys figured u would take it slow

it was mizu’s first relationship out of a toxic one

and u didn’t mind the slow pace

going on dates, hanging out, relaxing together

it was a blast

until one day u guys were out downtown, having a lil cafe date

and one of eiji’s clients recognized mizu as u hopped on the back of her motorcycle, zooming off to get lunch

modern!mizu ends up getting an unexpected phone call from her adopted dad

they keep in touch every few days

but she had just called him yesterday

Mizu was lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone. Her homework lies on her desk, ready to be done.

She groans in frustration and gently throws the phone down.

Ok, enough scrolling. Let’s get shit done-

Her phone starts to vibrate. Mizu flips the phone to spot the contact name “Swordfather”. The contact name is paired with a 0.5 selfie of him winning against Mizu. It continued to vibrate on Mizu's bed.

That’s odd. I just called him yesterday.

“Hey dad, whats up?”, Mizu answer.

“Who’s in the back of your bike?”, he yells into the phone.

“How- who- what are you talking-“

“Mr. Shindo come to me earlier today.” He starts, stern and loud, “He say he saw you with girl behind you on bike.”

Mr. Shindo was a regular at Eiji’s Repair Shop ever since Mizu was young. A man with temper and sass, he only trusted Eiji with his services. But with sass came a lot of gossip. Mizu wouldn’t believe the amount of drama happening the neighborhood if it wasn’t for Mr.Shindo’s loud mouth.

“Ok dad, I know it’s a girl but-“

“And he say he saw you hold hands! And drive off?!”, Eiji yelled with concern.

Mizu never really heard him this loud. There was the occasional disagreement and arguments about the Sunday game or who’s cooking for dinner. It was just banter at the most.

When Mizu told him about Mikio and why she left him & all his problems, he stayed calm and silent. Not many words were said when she admitted everything he did during the relationship. But it was comforting to know that her adopted dad was there, quietly listening to her sobs at the dining table.

“I know it’s not a guy but-“

“Guy, girl I do no care. Who is she?”

Mizu was stunned. Yeah, her dad’s English wasn’t the best but his words hit deep. The only time he pulled out the “I don’t care” in her lifetime was a foul customer.

A man by the name of Chiaki was on his knees close to closing hours, begging on his knees for Eiji to fix his motorcycle in hopes to make it faster. After constant days of his begging and pleading during open & closing, Eiji took it into his shop. After countless days of watching her dad attempt to fix the customer’s bike, Chiaki started criticizing and called him an “decrepit old man unable to fix shit”. Mizu wanted to rock his shit but her dad stopped her before she could.

“I may be old, but I do no care. Leave with your piece of shit you call a bike.”, Eiji said as Chiaki sped off, flipping the bird as he sent off.

"Mizu? You there?, Eiji asks. Mizu snaps back to reality.

"Yeah?"

"You tired of guys now, ha?"

Mizu scoffed, laughing at the unexpected response. She hears a hearty chuckle through the phone.

"Yeah yeah.", Mizu sighs in relief, "She's my girlfriend. Her name is Y/N.", Mizu answered, a blush blooming on her face.

"Ah good. Next time you come home, bring her. I'll make my barbeque special.", Eiji says lightheartedly.

Mizu's eyes lit up. It had been a while since she visited home. And to be greeted with the smell of her dad's honey BBQ baby back ribs and juicy prime rib? Yeah, she was sold.

"I will. I'll let you know when I'll visit."

"And Mizu?"

"Yes, Dad?"

"She take good care of you?", he asks in a concerned tone.

MIzu smiles, knowing the slow burn of confusion, hatred, and rage he witnessed over the many years. He was present during her silent middle school self, her angsty & stubborn teenage years, and her confused & rage-filled self during her previous relationship.

She looks at the wall where a photobooth strip of you two hung. It was during one of your exploring the city dates when you two found a vintage photo booth. A little dusty but it did the job of capturing you two together.

"Yes. Yes, she does, dad."

later that week, u get a text msg from mizu asking if u are free for the weekend

thinking it was another weekend date, u clear out ur schedule

and then she texts u its ab coming home w her for the weekend and see her dad

this was kinda out of nowhere

it rlly threw u off

it has been a few months now...

so yk what

maybe it is time u say hi

that friday u get on her motorcycle and ride to her hometown

its only an hr out but seeing the change from a college town to a smaller town felt like another world

You feel the motorcycle slow down as you head towards the exit. The wind calms down as you pass by the welcome sign to Kohama. As you go down the exit, you look out. Down below is a winding path to the seaside town. The town hangs next to a cliff. From your point of view, you could spot the deep blue ocean shimmers as Mizu takes you down the road.

She goes at a slower pace, taking in the familiar sights she left behind: the tall pine trees, a long coastline as far as the eye can see, and boulders scattering the beaches every once in a while. She rolls up to a stop sign and lifts her visor up.

"Smells like home."

You mimic her motions, lifting yours as well. The faint scent of sea salt mixed with the cool breeze from the ocean.

With both of you refreshed, Mizu continued along the path towards the middle of town.

the houses share a similar bungalow-style

only changing in shades of color

however, something caught ur eye

the smell of sweet barbeque caught ur attention

mizu immediately knew it was her dad cooking it up

meeting modern!mizu’s dad aka swordfather was a lil awkward

when u first arrived, he was busy in the back barbecuing and taking care of the dinner tonight

so u didnt meet him until u fully entered the house

hes busy in the back barbequing

and he does see u but the only thing he knows ab u is that ur dating his daughter

“Dad?”, Mizu calls through the house. You follow her footsteps down the hallway. She then opens the backdoor at the end, the midday shining into the hallway.

The sun blinds you for a second. You see a growing backyard with bushes aligning the fence. Tucked in the corner lied a storage shed surrounded by bikes and a few spare tires. Next to the shed is a grill in use, smoke coming out of the vent.

“I’m here Mizu.” An elderly voice called, his back facing you.

He turns around, a faint pout on his face. His eyes squinting from the harsh midday sun.

“You bring girlfriend?”

Mizu grins at her dad’s comment. She looks back at you and softly grabs your hand, pulling you next to her.

“This is Y/N.”

You smiled, waving at Mizu’s father. You know he’s not a bad guy, just a badass through Mizu’s stories of back home. However, you’re still anxious underneath your pleasing demeanor.

“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.”

You look up to meet his gaze. Old, tired eyes stare back. Stern but not mean or cruel. Amiable. You could only wonder how much wisdom he has behind those eyes.

“Nice to meet you. I am Eiji.”

He waves back, awkwardly smiling as he tends to the grill. The interaction had a striking similarity to when you first met Mizu: cordial, dry, and a little awkward.

Like father, like daughter, you suppose.

after introducing urself, mizu lets eiji cook

when ur making sides together in the kitchen, he gets a glimpse of how u guys act together

and he watches u help mizu make the sides like mac & cheese, baked potatoes, biscuits, and stir fried green beans

typically, he would be helping her cook

but seeing u help her mix the macaroni

and mizu helping u cut the green beans

hes a proud man and feels safe knowing mizu is ok

when mizu pops into the bathroom, he checks in on the cooking

You put on the red and blue mitts and carefully place the mac and cheese into the oven. You feel the fiery heat of the oven against your forearms.

“How is cooking going?”

You close the oven and look behind to find Eiji. You nod in response.

“It’s going good! We’re almost done.”, you say as you move to the side. He gets a view of your work with Mizu: a plate of stir fried garlic string beans with crispy fried onions, a stack of baked potatoes along with bowls of toppings portioned by Mizu, Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits, and the max and cheese that’s currently baking.

“Thank you for inviting me over and letting me stay.”, you say politely as you put the mittens away.

He nods back, a small smile forming around his lips.

The conversation falls short. A silence fills the air.

For a little too long.

It’s almost uncomfortable to breath, let alone talk, in the kitchen.

“Ribs are almost done. Please help set tables with me.”

You follow his request and help him with the plates and utensils.

“You know,”, You look up from the dinner table, giving Eiji your attention. “I did not know Mizu would bring girlfriend back.”

He chuckled as he looked back at you. You hear the emphasis on “girl” and laughed along. After hearing about Mizu’s previous relationship during the beginning of your relationship, you started to understand her ways.

And now, you understood why Eiji was awkward earlier in the day. When Mizu first met you, it was anxiousness meeting you. For Eiji, it was out of concern from Mizu’s past.

“Yeah, I’m probably not what you expected.”, you tease.

A hearty laugh comes out of Eiji. You feel the heaviness in the room lifts.

“But I’ll be here for her. I plan to, don’t worry.”, you reassure him. As serious as you sound, it was all true.

He hums in agreement. He puts down the final fork and walks over to the stir-fried green beans. His fingers reach for a string bean and tastes your cooking.

“Mm. You are honest.”, he pauses as he takes another bite. “You also make mean green beans.”

You snort, the compliment catching you off guard.

“Mean green beans?”, you question. You take a bean from the plate.

He nods.

while u and eiji are having a moment,

modern!mizu is listening to all of this go down

she tries not to smile when she comes back into the kitchen

but on the inside, she’s relieving hes getting along with u

once u and mizu help set the food on the table, its feasting time

ik for a fact that those baby back ribs are dangerously juicy

practically ripping off the bone

and with that honey bbq sauce???

and not to mention the prime rib??????

afterwards, modern!mizu would give u a detailed tour of her childhood home

eiji didnt always say it but he was proud

if u couldnt tell already

when u guys went out to the backyard, u spot eiji working on a motorcycle in the shed

its not the biggest shed

but a closer look inside painted a pic of who he was

as crazy and insane and stubborn as she was, it was a big moment for her and for eiji

her girl could finally drive

and she got her first taste of freedom

did she cringe as u stared and laughed at how different she looked? yeah

but at least eiji isnt reminicising alone

hello today I'm gonna rate the sihjr couples by how likely it is for them to get married as of right now 👍

9: Sentiment: they barely started dating so ofc not 😭 with how intense Ijuuin is tho I wouldn't be surprised if he had already started planning it in his mind xd

8: Nostalgia: despite what Takano would like to believe, they still got a long way to go :"D with how long they've been in each other's lives tho, I can't help but feel that once things with Ritsu's parents settle, they wouldn't last long before starting to think on a wedding.....

7: Terrorist: ideally Shinobu would first need to graduate college and find a stable job of his own, which shouldn't be so hard. The explaining to his family the whole situation tho... Might be a eenie weenie harder to achieve, maybe xp (BUT they might be getting there!!! I haven't forgotten the last terrorist update i saw nakamuraaaaaaa)

6: Eroitca: I think their situation is somewhat similar to terrorist, but significantly less worse. iirc Yukina already has had some sort of economic stability of his own (leaving the library job aside, I suppose the illustrations for Usagi's book must have opened some doors for him?), and I feel the coming out part will be way gentler on both sides. So perhaps is just a matter of time :)

5: Trifecta: they're already married actually, all they need is the certificate jdhshshshsg they virtually live together and raise Hiyori together, and hell, the fact that there is a part in the Yokozawa novels where he so naturally thinks that if he or Kirishima were a woman they could just get married like it's the easiest thing in the world makes me feel that all they actually need is getting the family thing solved before actually doing this :)

4: Romantica: the fact that I haven't seen it fully discussed already is truly wild to me. Like they've lived together for so long, both their families already know (ok Usagi's doesn't fully accept but do we think he cares?????), they've been through so much together and even vowed to stay with each other like WHAT ELSE DO WE NEEEEEEEED. The only reason why I feel they haven't done it yet (and why they aren't first spot) is bc nakamura really needs to have a killer finale for jr and I don't see that happening any time soon ...

3: Domestica: wdym they aren't already engaged???????? Like Chiaki practically proposes to Hatori at the end of Vol.4 (HE SAYS HE DREAMS TO BUY A HUGE HOUSE WHERE HE CAN RELAX AND READ MANGA AND IT WOULD BE PERFECT IF TORI COULD BE THERE, AND THEN TORI SAYS "that sounds like a marriage proposal lol" AND CHIAKI DOESN'T DENY IT LIKE HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO), and then in the first Hatori novel Chiaki discusses the idea of getting a ring for Tori to keep other people from falling for him, and then the propose hen thing, and then in this very obscure booklet that I think came with the movie dvd Chiaki looks disappointed when Hatori talks about marrying him and it turns out to be a joke and come ooooooon CHIAKI NEEDS TO MARRY THIS MAN SO BAD IT MAKES HIM LOOK STUPID, AND HATORI WANTS THAT TOO BUT KEEPS IT TO HIMSELF BC OFC HE DOES AND DKGSJFGDIGJSSH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! (maybe the one obstacle they have other than the family thing is that they have never really lived in the same house 24/7 but they've been with each other virtually all their lives, they would be fine xd)

2: Mistake: Given how long they've been together as a couple, I just know it could easily happen the moment they come out to their families :) Like they might not even need gay marriage becoming legal in Japan, Isaka has more than enough money to travel to wherever it is legal, have something small and maybe secret given the implications it would have for them if they went public (hence why they are not 1st spot...), and continue with their lives, having gone from acting like a married couple to actually being one <3

1: Egoist: They discussed getting wedding rings together, so as far as I'm concerned they are canonically engaged!!!!! Similarly to these last spots, they have been with each other for so long, have been through so much together and just have everything perfectly laid out for them, it's just a matter of becoming public (and ok in this case also gay marriage being legal, but I mean, if I phones can exist in this weird version of early 2000s, why can't gay marriage???????) At this point I can't help but feel that Nakamura doesn't update them as much bc she KNOWS that she'd end up having them marry in no time xd

a fun au komahina idea i keep fiddling with in my mind is hinata realizing he does have a talent, but that talent is something super fucked up like being the Ultimate Talent Neutralizer or some such. so like, his talent is just draining other people's talents. he's literally the nega talent.

so he's technically upgraded to being an ultimate at hope's peak, but he's still reserve course because they can't have him around the other ultimates during class hours or else... their education will be utterly pointless. because he'll just make it impossible for anyone to practice or hone their skills. and hinata is very, like... damn. i've always wanted a talent, but this one fucking sucks. i've spent all these years idolizing talent only to find out i destroy it?? what the hell. fuck off with that.

and when komaeda finds out, at first, he's fully like ''omfg, i knew it, you're actually a demon, you literally destroy talent, you destroy hope!!!" and it's this huge debacle, just the most dramatic hissy fit imaginable, up until it becomes clear that actually... being around hinata makes komaeda's talent fuck off. like, his luck literally can't hurt hinata or him or anyone else in his presence. and this realization just... short-circuits komaeda. fully breaks his brain.

like, everyone else just find it funny and kind of refreshing being around hinata, because they can just be regular with him and chill and not worry so much about being Ultimate, but for komaeda, for obvious reasons, being around hinata is life-changing. world-redefining. and he ends up just more obsessed with hinata than ever.

but also it ends up being hinata's secret superpower, because he can interact with any high-level ultimate in society and negate whatever their talent is, putting them on even footing, and sometimes come out on top in interactions with them concerning their talent. this first comes to light with chiaki, of course, who realizes "Hey!! I'm actually being challenged in a videogame!!! Omg, Hajime, you actually won against me!!! Holy shit, this is the best!!!!" and it's insane. it ends up being an amazing talent, after all.

but even with all these wonderful friends and an insanely useful talent and this beautiful twink drooling over him, hinata is still endlessly grumpy and bitter about being the Ultimate Anti-Talent forever. and it's hilarious. one of my favorite brain worms to consider.

As a more in-depth continuation of my last post involving Akane Owari... (TW: mentions of sexual assault & body objectification.)

What most of the fandom sees Akane as: That air-headed girl with the big boobs who is obsessed with food and fighting. Pretty much just another Aoi Asahina.

Who Akane *really* is: A strong woman inside and out and who loves food because she realizes how important eating is after years of being homeless with countless younger siblings to take take care of, but she doesn't prioritize food *so* much to the point where she would kill any of her fellow classmates to escape the funhouse.

While not academically smart, she is highly intuitive and actually a lot more aware than people give her credit for.

While short tempered, she cares greatly about her classmates and doesn't tolerate things like murder (yes, she was a remnant of despair, but Kodaka didn't exactly write Class 77b's despair-ridden selves well at all due to putting brainwashing into the equation.) Even somebody she is constantly antagonistic towards like Nagito, she only becomes so antagonistic and violent towards him because he is putting other's lives in danger and "seemingly" showing no remorse for their fallen classmates. Even after she goes into a blind fit of range and nearly strangles him to death, when Chiaki snaps her out of it, she genuinely feels remorse and begs forgiveness.

Was willing to work hard (which is something she dislikes doing), so she could get her and her younger siblings out of the streets.

Is a survivor of sexual assault and objectification from many men in her life, but she sadly doesn't seem to understand the gravity of those situations since she casually talks about her own body in a objectifying way sometimes. But just because she doesn't realize just how serious those situations truly were in hindsight, she is a still a victim of those horrible actions.

Lastly, on a surface level, she and Hina most definitely have similarities. However, they are *far* from the same character. (I'm not going to get into the reasons why cuz this post already went on long enough 😅)

Overall, yes, some of these details are only known when playing through her FTEs, but even putting her backstory aside, all of my other points still stand.

This girl deserves more love and recognition, dammit!
