I never realized how much I needed antag reader until I read them on your blog (which I love btw you're so good it's insane) I'm really curious of what pre-game antag reader was like, so could I request for pre-game antag reader before remnants of despair and how she interacts with her fellow classmates and Hajime (reserve course Hajime needs a hug). Thanks!!
i love this :)))) thank you so much for asking this nonny
Request for: Hajime Hinata (and the class ig but we all know who the focus is on this series) Warnings: god complex, antag reader tings (bullying) ~~~
Headcanons:
🐇Honestly I feel like it’d be more interesting if this was for V3 but this is still epic 🐇I think she’s still kind of an asshole but not so much as she is in-game 🐇Definitely a cocky person too 🐇Just like really teasing and annoying like Hiyoko but with a God complex 🐇”God, Mikan, we get it, you tripped. What else is new, bitch?” 🐇I feel like in-game she would help Nagito plan his bs just for funsies 🐇Pregame she’d probably do anything she could to keep Nagito around cuz he literally worships her and the others 🐇So he’s her widdle servant who she sometimes makes get her things from vending machines and talk to people she doesn’t want to 🐇Open about her talent cuz she sees it as incredible and better-than-the-others 🐇Unlike in-game where she lied about it and hid it for fun 🐇Actually though? She probably has actual friends in pregame 🐇And probably even somewhat befriended Hajime with Chiaki 🐇Just can’t stand people like Hajime who have NO confidence (even Nagito to an extent), she thinks it’s kinda annoying lmao 🐇^Says the bitch who’ll cry if you point out she said something wrong
Stories:
“Lady (Y/n),” Nagito grinned, extending his hand and offering her a can of soda, “I got way too many on accident, would you like one? Even though my dirty hands have already soiled it.”
Already taking the can from her classmate, (Y/n) quirked a brow at him, “Did you clear out the machine, again?”
“Aha,” he awkwardly chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, “Lucky me, I suppose.”
“Quite,” the girl kicked her feet up and onto her desk, “Unfortunate for everyone else then.”
“It is,” Nagito nodded glumly, settling back into his seat beside her, “Such refreshing beverages shouldn’t have been wasted on me.”
“God, I swear, you and Hajime both need to have more confidence,” grumbling, (Y/n) rolled her eyes and set the can down on her desk, “I like when you dote on me and all - because I deserve it, obviously.”
“Obviously,” Nagito nodded.
“Obviously, but you need to believe in yourself more, you’re a human being and you deserve love,” she shrugged, “Even Reserve Course students and they’re- “
“Useless to hope?”
“Exactly,” (Y/n) giggled, patting Nagito’s shoulder, “You get it.”
“You touched me… scum like me was- “
“Shush.”
“Right, sorry.”
~~
“It’s just… a lot of work…” Hajime huffed, running a hand through his hair, “Not to bother you two with my problems, I’m sure being in the Main Course is more difficult.”
“Not really,” Chiaki mumbled, face practically buried in her handheld with (Y/n) resting her head on the gamer’s shoulder, “I kinda wish it was harder. The main classes are optional and the only required class segment is when we’re honing our talents. It’s kinda boring.”
“Speak for yourself,” (Y/n) closed her eyes, kicking a leg up and over the other to a cross and patting down her skirt, “As the Ultimate Copycat, I have countless abilities to hone in such a short time frame,” her lips crept up into a sick smirk, “But, of course, I manage it all. Naturally.”
Hajime sighed, “As much as I’d love to debate you on that, I’m sure it’s true. Even though all you really do is steal other people’s talents…”
“Excuse you?!” in an instant, (Y/n) shot up from the bench and into a stand in front of Hajime, brows furrowed and hand reaching at his uniform tie, tugging it harshly, “I can do whatever I want at the Ultimate level! I’m practically the best person here!”
“Then who’s the best?” Hajime scoffed, grabbing the girl’s hand and attempting to pry her fingers off his tie, to no avail.
She gripped it harder, tugging again, “Me but in senior year when I’ve only gotten better at my mastered talents, and don’t you forget it, Reserve Course dog.”
“C’mon, (Y/n),” Chiaki spoke between the couple’s fighting, “He’s your friend, don’t be mean.”
“She’s mean to everyone…” Hajime finally succeeded at pulling the girl’s fingers off of his tie, shoving at her hands, “Even her so-called friends.”
“Hey, I’m inspiring, aren’t I? You wanna be like me? Or at least as close as you possibly could to someone as wonderful as me, yeah?”
“No, you just make me sad that God allowed such a big ego in such a tiny heart.”
“Ego’s the brain, dipshit.”
Chiaki sighed quietly, shaking her head and refocusing on her game, knowing it’d be another few hours until they even came close to settling the argument.
~~
“Miss Sonia and Miss (Y/n) - together? I’m dreaming, aren’t I?” Kazuichi felt his body heat up at his own observation.
“He’s staring again, isn’t he?” Sonia placed her chin in the palm of her hand.
(Y/n) nodded, also settling her chin in the palm of her head, “Do you want me to say something to the bastard?”
“No, no,” the blond princess shook her head, “I’m afraid that saying something would only worsen his fixation.”
“How disappointing… say, you’re close with Tanaka, correct?” at the other girl’s nod, she continued, “Maybe you should introduce us sometime. He could teach me a thing or two of his ‘dark arts’; a spell to curse Kazuichi’s eyes into flames if he so much as looks at us.”
“My, (Y/n), that’s wonderfully dark, how did you come up with that?”
“Book Nagito wanted me to read, speaking of which, if you ever need suggestions you should go to him. He’s an excellent reader with incredible tastes.”
Sonia nodded, “I will certainly keep that in mind, then!”
“They’re so cute when they talk to each other, don’t you think?” Kazuichi held his chest over where his heart beat into his ribs.
“No, you’re fucking gross,” Fuyuhiko waved off, “Don’t talk to me.”
~~
“Hajime, you’re clueless.”
“Huh?!”
“You’re clueless if you think you need an Ultimate to be Chiaki’s friend, she adores you the way you are.”
“It’s not just Chiaki… it’s you too, (Y/n)...”
“What?”
“You’re always talking about how you’re so amazing and that Ultimate talents are necessary to be so great, it’s- I just- I want to be someone you and Chiaki can be proud to be around!”
“Hajime…”
Silence. And then, the floodgates broke open.
“Hajime, you don’t need an Ultimate to be someone I’m proud to be around. You’re intelligent, which is more than I can say for most people. You’re kind and caring when you want to be and it shows in who you are. You’re unabashedly yourself and that’s what makes you worthy of being my friend. Sure, Main Course students are objectively better than Reserve Course but you know why exceptions exist, right? It’s for you and others like you. As far as I’m concerned, you’re incredible.”
“But not to your level…?”
“No, but don’t feel bad, nobody’s at my level.”

𝙸𝚖𝚙𝚞𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 – 𝙺𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚌𝚑𝚒 𝙾𝚖𝚊/𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛/𝚂𝚑𝚞𝚒𝚌𝚑𝚒 𝚂𝚊𝚒𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚊
I wish to see more of this dynamic, because c'mon It's adorable. Just a reminder that I am open to requesting, but before you do so please read the rules.
Trigger Warning(s): Mature content.
...
You have never considered your affection as something amoral or lewd. You were taught to follow your heart by many classical movies, no matter how cheesy that sounds, so you did. And It has come to your surprise how many people were against your ideology. Apparently having more than one partner is a crime. Of course being a part of society the thought lingered in your mind, that what you are feeling is abnormal to others. But the hope of being approved by your loved ones was still present.
–Y/N,– your dearest companion Chiaki has stopped midway in her tracks. It was not uncommon for her to be a little slow. So you clutched the steaming coffee cup, anticipating her verdict.
–I can't really tell you anything.– the burning heat from the cup now seemed to dissolve in her tone. You weren't exactly hoping for a party and support, but your friend's blank face was tugging at your heart strings. She was the one you told everything, your initial support and a shoulder to cry into. And now that same shoulder has turned cold and distant. Was she, disgusted by you? You could never tell by her expression.
–It's alright, I understand– You mumbled, swallowing a thick clump. This was something new, you have never felt uncomfortable around her. It made you think how would others react? If someone as laid back as the gamer girl, was not fond of this situation. She stayed silent for a while and then excused herself to the bathroom. You decided to head out as this conversation was clearly not leading anywhere. You have heard enough.
Leaving the money on the Cafe table you exited the building. The pink haired girl didn't seem to mind your absence, and you didn't have the heart to text her. The feeling of suffocation did not leave however, It followed you all the way into your house. And It stayed even after the "warm" welcoming of one of your partners. Being sprayed by water from head-to-toe wasn't in your plans for the evening.
–What's wrong Y/N? Didn't you miss my perfect self?– Kokichi's teasing voice burned your ears as he clinged to you in the doorway. He clearly couldn't read the mood.
–Let me undress.– His smirk grew wider as you realized the double meaning of that sentence.
–Not so fast. I need to take a shower first.– You adored his joking demeanor but not at the moment. So you hurriedly pushed him away and proceeded into the bathroom yourself. You have recently started to share an apartment with Oma and Saihara, and due to their work you could easily afford it. But was it really something you wanted? It was pretty rushed, so were you just desperate? You shook your head and tried to get rid of those thoughts. You can't possibly consider breaking up with them, just after a few disapproving glances, right? Even though they were from the most supporting character in your life.
After taking a shower the pieces of doubt still clung to you like dirt.
You wanted some time alone for now but your plans were ruined in a flash by your little detective. The male has seemed to be in a more uplifting mood than usual, yet his smile turned into a concerned look after spotting you coming out of the washroom.
–Are you feeling alright Y/N?– he approached your figure carefully. Were you really in that bad of a state?
–I am okay, don't worry– A sarcastic laugh rang out from behind the navy haired boy.
–A liar can spot their own kind you know?– Oma swiftly got in between you two, with a malicious grin painting his features. The two were just rubbing the salt in your wound with their sole presence.
–I'm fine really I just need some time,– you were cut off by a hand around your mouth.
–Well that's a lot of bullshit for one round.– Kokichi stated in a more serious manner. The urchin haired sat you down on the couch in the living room with Shuichi trailing behind. They both burned a hole in you with their gaze, and the gnome kept on pinching your cheek, so you were forced to tell of the incident. It felt as If you were a kindergartener confronting your parents.
When you finished It was quite the atmosphere truth be told. You started feeling embarrassed for even thinking about such horrendous thoughts. Leaving them, really Y/N? Saihara attentively grasped your hands and told you words of encouragement. He stuttered and resembled a ripe tomato throughout the monologue, but he's got the spirit. Even after being close to Oma every day, he is not used to physical contact. And detective's adorable state made you smile no less than his words. How you all will encounter that sooner or later, but you have each other to go through it. He sounded awfully like Kaede at the moment.
Kokichi on the other hand was squishing his cheek on your shoulder, while wrapping his tiny hands around your waist. The boy had a deep frown across his features. It was rare for him to express his true emotions. And to say that you felt bad for doubting the two was an understatement. You could never wish for anything more. Well, there was one thing.
–You know,– The panta lover started as you all huddled up on the couch, melting in the moment. Him situated on top of you two in a starfish pose, as TV quietly switched ads in the dimmed room.
–I think I saw a porn start like this.– You and Shumai simultaneously pushed the gremlin onto the floor.

Chapter 1-Hope’s Peak
Beginning of Danganronpa 3
I am a tool, I’m not supposed to have emotions.
I am Peko Pekoyama, a tool for the Yakuza and my young master.
Emotions such as love, anger, and sadness are foreign to me.
That is why I suppress such emotions that could hinder my work.
I gripped the bamboo of my sword which I held in front of me, barely focusing on the battle happening in our classroom.
I sat besides the young master, slicing any flying debris that flew towards his direction. Besides the few oddballs who remained in their seats such as Nagito Komaeda, Ryota Mitarai, and the class president, Chiaki Nanami who kept avoiding the debris.
Nekomaru and Akane ended up creating a hole in the classroom which caused quite the entertaining for the rest of my classmates. Ms. Yukizome entered the class and was understandably confused, running up to Nekomaru as Akane got sent flying.
“What are you two doing? Destroying the classroom can cause extreme consequences from the higher ups.” Ms. Yukizome pointed out.
“We’re doing IRL training!” Nekomaru practically shouted, leaning forward toward our teacher.
“Is that so, carry on then.” She calmly said, walking over toward our side of the wall.
Ryota and Chaiki seemed to take this as a cue to leave the classroom. Nagito’s luck seemed to be taking effect since he avoided all the debris by doing something as simple as sitting.
Akane and Nekomaru’s fist met which left a shockwave, cracking the glass behind Fuyuhiko and I.
I brought the sword into a position that’ll be easy to swing and stop the clash between the two, “If I must intervene then…” I muttered before Fuyuhiko whispered towards me.
“What do you think you’re doing? You can’t do that here.” He muttered, clearly concerned.
“I…I understand.” I replied.
The battle seemed to never end, causing many of our classmates to leave. The school day was close to ending so I accompanied Fuyuhiko towards the school's entrance.
“Should we get Master Natsumi?” I asked.
He looked over towards the Reserve Course, “She’s probably hanging out with that brown hair kid today so let’s head straight home.” He roughly explained.
“I understand.” I replied.
We started making our way towards the gate which was being guarded by Mr. Juzo. He simply nodded upon seeing us, there were a few reserve course students walking around mainly admiring Hope’s Peak itself. Fully leaving the school grounds and looking both ways before crossing the street. The school was still in view, weirdly enough the school seemed to glow to me.
Across the road from us was a father and his daughter, they seemed to start crossing the road as they chatted.
I kept a close eye on them, possible assassins and yakuza enemies could be hiding in clear sight.
It was rather peaceful without any loud noise until a car seemed to fly on the road. It was clearly breaking the speed limit by a huge amount, with a quick glance it seemed like they must’ve passed out. I took a second to watch the car when it was flying towards the father and daughter.
In that instant, I took off towards the pair. Running at full speed, I took my sword from its casing.
“Peko!” Fuyuhiko shouted.
I quick look towards him and confirmed that he shouted from worry instead of a secret ambush attack.
I ran towards the car and with my full force, I slammed the sword into the car's tire and forced it into the road. The car slowed down heavily, but continued moving nonetheless. The sword started scraping across the road with it.
It won’t stop in time. I kept that thought in the back of my mind.
I finally made it towards the two, taking each in my arms before leaping out of the road.
I almost fully avoided the car except for it slamming into my right foot.
I swore I felt something break, wincing to the pain as we fell to the ground. Both seemed relatively fine, but I tried to view the car itself.
The car apparently reached Hope Peak’s brick wall. My sword helped slow down the car, but it’ll probably still take a huge amount of damage. From this distance away, I could still see my sword which got destroyed from the crash.
Juzo seemed to head towards the car so I left it to him to help the guy.
I stood up, looking at the two on the ground.
“Are you two okay?” I asked.
“T-thank you so much.” The father said.
“It was nothing.” I replied.
The pain in my leg was almost unbearable, but I didn’t show a reaction towards it. The daughter didn't seem to comprehend what just happened as she looked at the car in the distance.
“You’re not hurt in any way, are you?” The father faced his daughter before facing me, possibly asking both of us.
“I-i’m fine.” His daughter said.
“Same for me.” I replied.
Fuyuhiko came up to me, a worried look all over his face.
“Are you okay Peko?” He asked me.
“I’m fine, Young Master.” I replied.
The daughter now stood up as well, looking at me with a worried look.
“What about your sword? It got destroyed.” She said.
She was indeed correct. When the car crashed, my sword also got destroyed to an unrestorable state.
“It’ll be fine, I can get a new one.” I explained.
“I…see.” She responded.
“I can’t thank you enough, is there anything I can do?” The father asked.
“Don’t worry about it Sir.” Fuyuhiko replied.
Fuyuhiko proceeded to say something else to him, but I was too distracted from the pain. I felt my leg give out as I fell to one knee.
“Are you okay/Peko?” Both the daughter and Fuyuhiko asked.
“I’m...fine.” I replied, trying to push past the pain.
“Stop bullshiting.” Fuyuhiko said, trying to find the wound.
He realized my leg was the one damaged.
Turning his head towards the father, “Got a phone?!” Practically demanding instead of asking.
“Y-yeah.”
“Then call for an ambulance, quickly!” He shouted.
“Got it.” He replied before presumably calling 119.
“I’m truly fine, Young Master.” I said, trying to sit up.
“Don’t lie to me, the car hit you, didn't it? He asked, lowering me back to the ground.
“...” I simply looked away, guilt filling up inside me.
“I knew it.” He muttered.
I’m merely a tool.
Getting injured just means I’ve failed to meet expectations. Having Master Fuyuhiko worried for me, a tool means I’ve failed.
I’m Peko Pekoyama, a tool.
“I’m sorry.” The daughter said.
“It’s not entirely your fault.” Fuyuhiko responded.
“...” She seemed kinda upset by that response.
She must be feeling some sort of guilt for my injury.
It didn't take long for the ambulance to come and take me. A small disagreement happened with Fuyuhiko and the father since he felt somewhat responsible. Fuyuhiko must have realized that he wouldn’t back down so he begrudgingly let him tag along.
It was a kinda awkward ride and I wanted to explain that I really didn't need this, but I knew it’ll be pointless at this point.
Fuyuhiko looked annoyed about how we weren't already there and decided to question the family.
“What were you two doing before Peko saved you?” He questioned, glaring at the pair.
“We wanted to get a good view of Hope’s Peak.” The father replied.
“Why?”
“Because my kid will be attending the next school year.”
This caught us both off guard, the daughter who seems surprisingly weak is going to be an Ultimate.
“What’s your ultimate?”
“I’m going to be the Ultimate Programmer.” She replied.
“Interesting, can you break into others computers if need be?” A mischievous smile on the young master's face.
“I-if I need to then I probably could.” She answered kinda confused about that question.
“Interesting.” Fuyuhiko said, probably thinking about the benefits of this girl.
“Last thing, what are your names?” Fuyuhiko asked.
“My name is Taichi Fujisaki.”
“And I’m Chihiro Fujisaki.”
“Chihiro and Taichi Fujisaki, I’ll remember that.” He responded, “In the name of the Kazuryu Family, I thank you for tagging along, you have good hearts.” This seemed to be Fuyuhiko’s way of intimidating them.
Their faces seemed shocked upon hearing the Kuzuryu Family name, but we just arrived so it was cut short.
They took me to a room to check up on my leg, leaving the three of them outside until it was all good to enter. I sighed from relief when I found it was nothing major, I had a feeling it wouldn’t, but anything was possible technically.
They gave me a quick rundown. Since it only skimmed my leg, the damage wasn’t too severe so they wanted me to stay a night at least and to avoid walking on that leg.
They let the others enter and Fuyuhiko seemed more relaxed, knowing I wasn’t in any major damage.
“I just need to stay the night, then I’ll continue protecting you.” I stated.
“Don’t worry about that, just consider it a break until you’re all healed up.” Fuyuhiko replied, trying to reassure me.
“I…understand.” Looking downward to avoid eye contact.
The Young Master has a kind heart.
But a tool that isn’t useful becomes utterly useless.
“I’m glad you aren’t badly hurt, is there any way I can repay you?” Taichi asked.
“Don’t worry about that Mr. Fujisaki, just your concern for Peko is enough.” Fuyuhiko stated.
“Then could I ask you two for a favor?” His facial expression became somewhat serious.
“Depends on what it is?” Fuyhiko questioned.
He motioned for Chihiro to leave the room, which she did.
“My request is for you two to watch over Chihiro once they enter Hope’s Peak.” He requested genuine concern appearing on his face.
“How do you know we're from Hope’s Peak?” Fuyuhiko asked.
“It’s impossible not to be aware of the Super High School Level (SHSL) students.” He chuckled.
Fuyuhiko seemed convinced by that.
“It’s the least we could do, but can I ask why?”
He seemed hesitant at first, but ultimately decided to explain why.
“Chihiro isn’t a strong kid, they’ve been bullied for that when they were younger and they kind of isolated themselves because of that. I only wish for Chihiro to have a normal school experience so I wish for you two to keep that from happening.” He explained, bowing his head.
“Even though you know we’re part of the Kuzuryu family, you still want us to protect your kid?” Fuyuhiko questioned, trying to spook him.
“Y-yes.”
Being a tool, I don’t really have a particular feeling towards these turn of events. This is mainly why I don’t do much of the talking and instead let Master Fuyuhiko handle it. My expression remained fairly neutral during this entire conversation.
“Chihiro will be a first year so we won’t get to keep an eye the entire time, but if someone picks on ‘em then I’ll intervene.” Fuyuhiko stated.
“Thank you.” Taichi bowed towards him again.
“Raise your head Mr. Fujisaki.” He said before making his way towards the room.
I saw Master Fuyhiko nod his head toward Chihiro who stood outside the room before waving towards me.
“Thank you as well.” Taichi said before doing a quick bow bow towards me.
“It was nothing.” I responded.
“I’ll be taking Chihiro home now, please be nice towards my Chihiro.” He said before walking out the room.
The room went silent as it was just me in it, the door swung open as Chihiro walked in.
“Do you need something?” I looked over, asking Chihiro.
“I-I just wanted to apologize for getting your sword broken.” Bowing her head.
This family apologizes a lot.
“It’s really nothing to worry about.” I replied.
“Once I enter Hope’s Peak, I promise I’ll use my skills to make a perfect sword for you.” Chihrio declared before running away, a hint of blush on her cheeks.
“You really…don't need to.” I said, realizing that Chihiro ran out before I could even finish.
“What an interesting family.” I muttered before facing the window.
I feel guilty for getting injured, causing problems for Master Fuyuhiko and now Chihiro.
A perfect sword, can the Ultimate Programmer even make something like that? Don’t they just do computer stuff? Guess I’ll just have to wait until the next school year. I can’t wait…I guess.
I can’t wait? Why would I think that, I just need to protect Master Fuyuhiko and Master Natsumi.
I put my hand to my chest, pulling my shirt ever so slightly.
“If Master Fuyuhiko says so then I’ll keep an eye on Chihiro at least.” I decided that I’ll protect Chihiro if someone were to bully her.
Only half a year till we all become second years. I wonder what these new first years will be like? I hope Chihiro will be fine once school starts.
*Ba-dump*
“Huh?” I moved my hand from my chest, looking in shock.
What emotion was that?
No…doesn’t matter.
I’m just a tool.
I don’t know what emotion that was, but I can’t be having that.
I looked back at the window, seeing the entirety of Hope’s Peak from here.
“What will the future hold, I wonder.” I muttered, my vision going blank as I imagined my possible future.
I am a tool, I’m not supposed to have emotions.
I am Peko Pekoyama, a tool for the Yakuza and my young master.
Emotions such as love, anger, and sadness are foreign to me.
That is why I suppress such emotions that could hinder my work.
Half A Year Later
The first school year has come to an end, the bonds between the 77th (Section-B) students have become extremely tight.
I am still a tool, but the times I’ve spent here have been truly enjoyable.
Alongside that, we’ve grown closer to a few more students from outside our class. Hajime Hinata, Natsumi Kuzuryu and Sato with the occasional interaction with Sōshun Murasame.
“We’ll be getting new first years pretty soon.” I reminded Fuyuhiko.
“Yeah, we’ll be looking after Chihiro pretty soon.” He stretched before walking back.
My legs have fully healed to the point that nothing besides a small scar remained.
I simply nodded before following after him.
“Shall we head straight for school?” I asked Master Fuyuhiko.
“Yep, point out if you see either Chihiro or Hajime on our way.” Fuyuhiko added.
“Why Hajime if I may ask, Young Master?” I questioned.
“He’s been awfully close to Natsumi recently, so I just wanna have a chat with him.” He explained.
I couldn’t help, but smile at this, “You're a very caring Young master.”
“Well, let's hope these first years are the interesting type.” He said, pondering at that question as we headed towards Hope Peak.
* * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Are you ready Chihiro?” Father asked.
“Yeah, this will be a new me.” I replied, a bit uncertain of that.
“You’ll do fine and if you ever need anything, you can find Fuyuhiko and Peko.” He shot back.
“That is true.” I said.
I said my goodbyes to Father before making my way towards Hope Peak’s.
There sure are a lot of Reserve Course students. I thought to myself.
I didn’t see any other ultimate’s on my way and was confronted with a giant gate blocking me from entering.
“Hold it right there.” Someone called out.
I turned my head towards the person who leaned against the wall beside the gate.
“Can I help you with something?” I asked, slightly shaking.
“You trying to enter Hope Peak’s?” The green-haired male asked me.
“Y-yes.” I replied quickly.
“Got any I.D to prove you an Ultimate?” Giving off an intimidating expression.
“Y-yeah.” I scrambled for the student I.D and handed it towards him.
He looked at it then looked at me a few times before handing it back.
“Seems like it matches up,” He handed the I.D back to me, “Sorry if I scared ya, lots of people try getting in so I gotta be extra tuff.” He explained.
“I understand.” I responded.
He opened the gate for me as I started making my way to my designated classroom.
Noise was heard everywhere, but not anywhere towards me. I followed the staircase that led towards my year's class, the 78th Class.
“Okay, first impressions are everything.” I muttered to myself.
Trying to encourage myself, I swung the door open. In that instant, someone flew straight towards me.
I avoided the person’s body before looking inside. My eyes led to an orange-haired, punk looking fella who stood in a stance as if they had just thrown something. I looked back at the person who was a brown-haired, average looking boy.
“Are you okay?” I leaned forward, sticking a hand out for him.
He didn’t respond, most likely knocked out from that throw.
“Makoto!” A female voice came this time, running past me to the boy named Makoto.
I recognized her, she’s Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate Pop Sensation.
She knelt down, trying to wake the now sleeping boy. He didn't wake up even after all her trying.
“Mondo! Why would you do that?” A black-hair, red-eyed boy called out towards the punk.
“He pissed me off.” He replied.
“Even so, violence is never allowed.” He karate chopped the air while speaking.
“Silence.” An adult walked through the doorway, completely stepping over Makoto’s body.
“Who the hell are you?” Mondo asked.
“I’m your homeroom teacher, Koichi Kizakura,” He tipped his hat, “Pleasure to meet you all.”
He then commanded everyone to sit down, which they did. Even Mondo seemed to listen, either from fear or getting everything out of his system.
I stood near Makoto and Sayaka, unsure of what to do.
“What about Makoto?” I asked the teacher.
“Oh him,” He walked on over to Makoto, giving him a light kick to the head, “Bring him to the infirmary.” He replied.
I was flabbergasted from his actions before deciding to help Sayaka carry Makoto to the infirmary.
“Thank you for helping me.” Sayaka said.
“It was nothing.” I shot back.
“We never introduced ourselves,” She stated, “I’m Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate Pop Sensation.”
She then pointed at Makoto, “And this is Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Lucky Student. We went to middle school together.”
“Wow, I didn't know luck could be an ultimate.” I replied.
“I was shocked too, but he’s a kind person so don’t worry.” She said, a genuine looking smile on her face.
“Got it.” I nervously replied back.
Wow, she’s so friendly, unlike that Mondo guy.
“You were wondering about that Mondo, right?” She asked with a serious expression on her face. “How did you know?” I asked, shocked.
“I’m a psychic.” She claimed.
“What?”
“Just kidding, I have really good intuition.” She giggled.
“I see.”
We were making it toward the first floor when I saw a pair in the distance.
“Hey! Fuyuhiko, Peko!” I called out to them.
Both turned around upon hearing their names.
“Chihiro,” Fuyuhiko said before coming closer towards me, “Did you want help getting rid of the body?” He asked, pointing at Makoto’s body.
“What no.” I quickly said.
“Oh, then what do you need?” He asked.
“We need to find the infirmary, but we don’t really know where we’re going.” I explained.
“Got it, follow us.” He said, waving his hand to follow.
We followed him which led us outside the school. Me and Sayaka were confused, but stayed silent.
“There,” He pointed toward a purple-haired girl in the distance, “That’s Mikan, she’s the nurse.”
“Thank you.” We both went towards her only for an orange-haired woman to leap towards Fuyuhiko and Peko.
“Did you think you could run away forever?” Getting them in a headlock.
“We weren’t even trying to run from you.” Fuyuhiko managed to get out.
“Oh I see.” She proceeded to let them go.
“What was that about?” Sayaka asked.
“I don’t really know.” I responded.
We decided to not question it any longer before making our way to the girl named Mikan.
A small group was already there, watching two students go at it in a battle, we approached closer to the group before calling out for Mikan.
“Mikan?” I called out.
Mikan reacted quite heavily as she swung her body toward us, to the brink of tears.
“I-I’m sorry.” She shouted.
Catching both me and Sayaka off guard before a head-hair girl parched Mikan.
“It’s okay, Mikan, they just wanted to ask you something.” The red-hair stated.
“Really Mahiru?” Mikan asked.
“Yes,” Mahiru patted her back, “I’m sorry about that, she’s easily scared.”
“It's okay, we just wanted help with our friend.” Sayaka said.
Mikan seemed to notice Makoto before standing up and checking on him quickly.
“H-he seems t-to be knocked out, n-n-nothing major.” She stated, “P-please f-follow me.”
“Okay.” I said.
We followed Mikan to the infirmary in which she stated that he just needs some rest and he’ll be fine. There wasn’t much Sayaka and I could do so we decided to head back to class. Mr. Kizakura gave a brief rundown of Hope Peak and how it works. Apparently, we don’t need to attend classes at all if we’re focusing on improving our Ultimates. We still have to attend classes if a test or quiz was happening, but grades aren’t a huge factor for Hope’s Peak. Our mid-term exam is hosted in the gym where we’ll show off our Ultimates and whether we deserve to stay in Hope’s Peak. Otherwise, it’s a regular school for Ultimates.
That was all Mr. Kizakura revealed before handing out a schedule for the school year. He immediately dismissed us for the first half of the day to settle in our dorm rooms. When asked if he’s allowed to do that, he replied with the teachers having full control of their homeroom classes so it was perfectly fine.
We each followed the layout of the school we were handed and made our way towards our dorms.
The layout of the school was like this: First floor has mainly faculty and some first year classes. The second floor has some first year classes with the second year dorms. The third floor has the second year classes with the first year dorms. The fourth floor had the third years classes and dorms. The Fifth floor was the headmaster's room with Ultimate workshops that needed the indoors.
The Ultimate Workshops were the workshops where Ultimates could hone their skills. The ones on the fifth floor were those that needed indoor stuff like electricity and tools with some outside of Hope Peak for those that needed the outdoors or simply more room for their Ultimates.
We headed towards our dorms and each room was designated for each student with little pixel artwork of them.
I entered my designated room which was in darkness, I turned the lights on and it seemed like a simple bedroom, blue bed covers, red wallpaper, and blue carton flooring.
The only thing that was unique to my room was the three computers on the desk.
“Guess I should decorate this room a bit before lunch.” I muttered to myself.
I did a quick internal layout plan before placing some of the things I like in certain locations. I placed a PC engine for each computer, a layout of the school on my wall, a comfortable gaming chair I owned, a camera on the table to the side with a telescope near the table, and hanging some photos I took of the moon, sky and stars.
The computers already had a gaming mat and mouse so I left them be until I get a better one, but first I’ll need to head towards lunch. I exited the room, making my way towards the cafeteria.
“After lunch, I need to go back for home room.” I muttered to myself.
I entered the cafeteria and got my lunch, it wasn’t impressive looking and instead pretty average.
I looked at the black board which stated who made today’s lunch.
“Teruteru Hanamura.”
Never heard of him.
I started looking for a place to sit.
“I’d rather not eat outside on the grass, especially in a skit.” Nervously laughing at myself.
All the tables were pretty full, only one table had one other person sitting there. The only problem was…it was Mondo.
With no other choice, I approached Mondo. He was eating some kinda soup by himself.
“Mind if I sit here?” I asked.
He looked up at me before simply continuing eating.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” I replied before sitting down.
I started eating a bit of the food before striking up a conversation.
“We never fully introduced ourselves, I’m Chihiro Fujisaki.” I introduced myself to him.
He put down his spoon before speaking, “I’m Mondo Owada.”
We continued eating before I randomly asked him a question.
“Do you think I can be strong?” I asked him.
“Of course, look at Sakura for example, she’s like a fucking beast.” He slightly chuckled.
“Do you think it’ll be-” I looked at him, seeing Peko and Fuyuhiko in the distance, “Hold on a sec.”
I stood up before making my way towards the two.
A bit before Chihiro saw Peko
“Where shall we eat today, Young Master?”
“Let’s get our food first then find a place.” Fuyuhiko suggested.
“Understood.” I replied.
We made our way to the cafeteria, looking for a free table.
“Doesn’t seem to be a table available.” Fuyuhiko muttered.
I blankly stared at a table with Chihiro and another first year student.
“What are you staring at?” Fuyuhiko asked, looking at where I’m looking, “Oh, Chihiro’s table seems free.”
I still didn’t respond, feeling somewhat annoyed about the scene I was watching.
“Why are you glaring at them?” Looking perplexed by my behavior.
“...”
“Chihiro’s coming over.” He said.
I watched Chihiro walk over toward us, my gaze softing when he grew closer.
“Peko, are you-?” Fuyuhiko questioned.
Back to Chihiro
I approached the pair, noticing Fuyuhiko with a confused look.
Their eyes look towards me now
“If it's not too much to ask,” I pointed towards the table Mondo was sitting at, “Would you like to eat with me?”
Yes.” I automatically responded.
“I mean…if you’re fine with it, Young Master.” Peko said, trying to correct herself.
“I'm fine with that.” Fuyuhiko replied.
“Great.” I said, smiling brightly towards them.
I quickly grabbed their hands before bringing them towards the table.
I then let go realizing that they needed their food.
Afterwards they came to the table, food in hand.
“Mondo, these are my friends.” I said.
Peko sat next to me while Fuyuhiko sat next to Mondo.
“Sup.” Fuyuhiko said.
“Hey,” He replied, “Mondo Owada, Ultimate Biker Gang Leader.”
I had a semi-surprised look on my face, this was the first time I heard his Ultimate.
“Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Ultimate Yakuza.” He responded.
This shocked me more since he never said his Ultimate as well.
“Peko Pekoyama, Ultimate Swordswomen.” Peko said.
My mouth hung open.
All three of them are powerful…
“Y-you already know me, but I’m Chihiro Fujisaki, Ultimate Programmer.” I feel so weak compared to them.
“Biker Gang Leader,” Fuyuhiko mumbled, “You wouldn’t happen to be the leader of Crazy Diamond, are you?”
“Huh, that's right.” He responded.
“You wouldn’t happen to know Daiya, would you?” He asked.
“Yeah, I know,” A pained expression on his face now, “He was my brother.” He added.
“Was?” Peko questioned.
“He died.”
An awkward silence came after saying that.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Fuyuhiko said, “He was an amazing person.”
“How do you know anything about him?” Mondo said, slightly aggressive.
“He’s helped the Yakuza out quite a bit, mainly with deliveries,” Fuyuhiko looked towards Mondo, “He was truly a nice person.”
“Thanks.” Mondo said, a faint smile on his face.
There was a bit of silence for a bit as we finished eating.
“I’m feeling generous,” Fuyuhiko said, “As your upperclassman, I can give you two advantages to Hope Peak.”
“Wait, you’re an upperclassman?” Mondo questioned.
“Obviously.”
“But you’re so short.” Mondo said.
“...”
Fuyuhiko’s eyes disappeared as the shadows consumed them, Peko seemed shocked to hear that.
“Short, huh?” Fuyuhiko muttered.
“You know what? I was going to be nice, but fuck that!” He shouted before storming off.
“Maybe I shouldn't have said that.” I heard Mondo ponder.
“Please forgive him, he doesn't like to be called short.” Peko explained, standing up.
“It was a pleasure to meet you Mondo.” She threw her tray away before turning back to me.
“I’ll see you later Chihiro.” Peko said, smiling at me.
She walked off, leaving only me and Mondo at the table.
“How do you know an upperclassman like that?” Mondo asked.
“It was purely accidental. I just happened to be saved by Peko.” I gave a slight rundown of the events that transpired before entering Hope’s Peak.
After talking with Mondo a bit more, I came to realize that he isn’t some punk. He’s pretty friendly, he just has a bad attitude sometimes. You really need to be on the same wavelength to fully enjoy his character.
Lunch was coming to an end so we decided to head to class together.
“Hey Mondo?” I asked.
“What’s up?” He asked.
“I think you should apologize to Makoto, you know, for throwing him.” I brought up the events of this morning, explaining Makoto’s ultimate as well.
“I guess you’re right, he was just trying to calm me down after all.” He rubbed the nape of his neck.
We made it to our home room, swinging the door open revealed most of the class.
“He did tell us to come back so it wasn’t optional to ditch.” I said to Mondo.
“It would seem.”
We were about to take our seats when I saw Makoto. Mondo’s eyes met Makoto’s and he visibly flinched at that.
“Mondo…” Makoto said.
Mondo, without saying a word approached Makoto, merely a foot away.
“Are you going to act up again?!” The red-eyed guy asked.
“Makoto.” Mondo said.
“Yeah?”
“I’m sorry.” Bowing his head slightly.
“Huh?” Makoto asked, dumbfounded.
“For throwing you this morning, I was angry it took it out on you, for that, I’m sorry.” Mondo said.
“You're forgiven.” Makoto said, calming down by now.
“Just like that?” Sayaka asked.
“It was all in the heat of the moment plus he apologized.” Makoto explained.
“Geez, you’re really too kind Makoto.”
It wasn’t long before Mr. Kizakura walked in, holding some papers.
“Listen up, you all had time to set your dorms up and possibly be acquainted with each other.” He explained.
“To finish off everything for the new school year, Introduction.”
“I’ll start first, I’m Koichi Kizakura, Former Ultimate Talent-Scout. I’ll be your homeroom for your time in Hope’s Peak.”
The entire class consisted of introductions.
“Sayaka Maizono, Ultimate Pop Sensation.”
“Mukuro Ikusaba, Ultimate Soldier.”
“Leon Kuwata, Ultimate Baseball Star.”
“Chihiro Fujisaki, Ultimate Programmer.”
“Mondo Owada, Ultimate Biker Gang Leader.”
“Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Ultimate Moral Compass.”
“Hifumi Yamada, Ultimate Fanfic Writer.”
“Celestia Ludenberg, Ultimate Gambler.”
“Sakura Ogami, Ultimate Martial Artist.”
“Junko Enoshima, Ultimate Fashionista.”
“Yasuhiro Hagakure, Ultimate Clairvoyant.”
“T-toko Fukawa, U-ultimate Writing P-prodigy.”
“Byakuya Togami, Ultimate Affluent Progeny.”
“Aoi Asahina, Ultimate Swimming Pro.”
“Kyoko Kirigiri, Ultimate Detective.”
“Makoto Naegi, Ultimate Lucky Student.”
“With that, schools over for the day.” Mr. Kizakura said before walking off.
“Wait a minute?” Kyoko asked.
“Jin’s daughter, what can I help you with?” He asked.
“Isn’t there something you’ve forgotten to give us.” She mentioned.
“That's right.” He said, reaching for the papers and handing them out to us.
“Ms. Yukizome, the 77th homeroom teacher might be planning an event for you and her class so this is to help you survive her chase.” He explained.
“What do you mean by chase?” Kiyotaka asked.
“She always finds her students no matter where they hide so they’ve made it a challenge to last the longest from her and since she most likely will do something with both classes then she’ll chase you guys.” He explained one last time before walking out.
Was that why Fuyuhiko got put into a headlock when they took us outside?
“Ehehehe.” I nervously laughed.
I looked at the piece of paper, reading its contents.
1. Avoid orange hair people (Can’t trust anyone)
2. She will bribe students she already found to search for others
3. Don’t let her friendly demeanor fool you at all
4. Don't grow too close to her or she’ll take my homeroom again just like she did with the 77th class
5. Sure, I drank a lot and would enter class with a hangover, but doesn’t mean I should have been replaced
6. And sure I agreed to letting her take over, but scouting students each year ain’t paying the bills
7. I’m not losing this class to her
8. This is war
9. You better not fail me
I didn’t know how to react, I felt confused reading the entire paper.
I heard paper crunching, I looked behind me to see Kikyo crushing the paper.
I guess she was expecting something else from him.
“Hehe.” I chuckled.
“I’m not going to take this seriously, well, I’m going back to my dorm.” Mondo waves over, waving towards me.
“I’ll see you later Mondo.” I replied.
* * * * * * * * * * * * *
“I feel bad for the first years.” Fuyuhiko said.
“I know right, Ms. Chisa can be scary when she runs straight at you.” Akane added.
“Do you think Chihiro will be fine?” I asked Fuyuhiko.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine.” He responded.
“Actually, about Chihiro,” He lowered his voice so anyone wouldn’t hear, “Do you like Chihiro?”
“Like Chihiro?” I questioned, feeling my face heat up slightly.
“I’m simply doing my job.” I argued.
“Mhm…”
“What?” I questioned, feeling as if there was more to his “mhm.”
“It’s nothing, honestly.” He shot back.
“I would like to see how they avoid Ms. Chisa.” I mentioned.
“Same, I would like to see if they’re truly worthy of being my disciples.” Gundam added.
“Hey, Hey, Hey, Ibuki would like to know this Chihiro fellow.” Ibuki charged forward, leaning heavily towards my face.
“She’s an under classmate that I happen to be acquainted with.'' I responded.
“Ooh, Ibuki smells some fanfic going on.”
“Fanfic?” I tiled my head confused.
“Yeah, fanfic. It’s interesting, lots of peg-”
“Don’t continue Ibuki.” Mahiru said, cutting Ibuki off.
“Peg?”
“Don’t say that?” Mahiru said, face now red.
I looked over towards Fuyuhiko who seemed to grow red as he looked at his phone.
“Peko…” He handed his phone to me.
Pegging, a sexual practice in which…
I felt my face grow red while reading the definition.
“I-I understand now.” I responded.
I faced the window, trying to forget the new word I just learned.
The 77th Class, I wonder how similar they are to us as first years? Maybe they’re interesting enough to be useful to the Young Master. No…I shouldn't think like that with my classmates/friends. I’ll probably get up extra early to follow Ms. Chisa around and check the first years out myself.
I placed my head on my hand, feeling myself lose myself in thought.
My name is Peko Pekoyama, a tool for the Kuzuryu Clan and Master Fuyuhiko.
I believed that I didn’t have emotions for the longest time after I blocked them away.
It would seem that Hope’s Peak truly is a hopeful place.
Emotions such as Love, Hatred, and Sadness are foreign to me.
I only exist to serve Master Fuyuhiko.
But maybe I can make an exception for those I truly care about. I thought to myself, smiling ever so slightly.

Main Games’ Protags + Love Interests
Cuddle HCs
Cute concept cause I’m touch deprived... fuck covid :)
Category: Fluff HCs (with a little angst at Chiaki and Kaede’s parts)
Specifics: Gender of reader not mentioned, Ultimate not mentioned, mentions periods throughout the timeline
Warnings: none
And yes I’m putting Shuichi after Kaede, he is the original love interest in V3
Tumblr media
Makoto
Soft babey
He’s definitely the small spoon most of the time, even if you’re shorter than him
He’s slightly insecure that you’re the one holding him instead of the other way around
But you always reassure him it’s cute to see him pull your arms tighter around him
To which he becomes a blushy mess
Other times he’ll lay his body over yours in a protective manner, shielding you from any harm that may come your way
Also because he loves snuggling into your chest but he won’t ever admit that out loud
Play with his hair
Just please
It’s the fluffiest thing in the world, even when he cuts it shorter
It also just relaxes him
Say he’s gotten worked up or stressed due to a class trial or something at the Future Foundation
He’s automatically going to you for you to hold him and pet his hair
It’s become almost an instinct for him to look for you
There was one time after a class trial that you almost got voted out but he was able to prove your innocence
He didn’t let go of you for the rest of the night, he insisted you stay in his room
Though he didn’t tell you why exactly he was so skiddish, you figured no one would target you just for that, he just didn’t want to lose you
So that night the roles were reversed, he was the one holding you to his chest and hugging you like a teddy bear
Mention how adorable he was being and he’ll be hiding his face in his hands
He’s not against cuddling in front of people
He actually loves that he can show you off in more subtle ways like holding your hand or keeping you at his side while walking
Overall, he just wants to keep you close as much as possible without overstepping boundaries
—————
Kyoko
Cuddling whom???
When you first ask her to cuddle with you she is just confused
You can bet she hasn’t had anyone cuddle her since she was 5
So the first time you two cuddled, she was rather stiff, it took her a few more tries at it before she was able to fully relax
She’s almost always on guard, so you guys only really have full on cuddle sessions when she’s 100% sure nothing is gonna come to hurt you
She’s a big spoon
Don’t ask me why, she just gives me that energy
She wants to keep you safe, and what better way than to just hold you close
She doesn’t exactly have a favorite position, but if she had to choose, she’d probably say when she’s sitting up and you’re leaning against her chest from the front
It lets her get paperwork done while being close to you, so a win-win
The first time you ask to hold her hands she’s a little puzzled
You want to hold her hand??? Like without the gloves on???
Don’t people usually get uncomfortable with that kinda stuff???
You reassure her you don’t care, that you just want to hold her hand
She’ll let you do whatever you’d like so long as you’re comfortable with it
In public, it’s less she doesn’t want to hold you close, more she’s just concerned someone will make the connection and target you
But if you’re around people who wouldn’t do such a thing, (mainly Makoto and Aoi) she’ll be happy to keep an arm around you
When you were walking the halls in the killing game and you two were alone, she’d take her glove off so you could hold her hand
She knows you feel safer when you do
I do have a personal headcannon that she can barely feel anything in her hands and upper wrist, so she won’t even notice when you squeeze her hand most times
But once she sees you do it, she’ll subtly squeeze your hand back as a silent way to calm you down or say everything will be okay
Oh and remember when she kept her door open overnight when Alter Ego was found?
Yeah you didn’t get any cuddles and could barely sleep because you had grown so accustomed to it
But you knew she kept you away so you wouldn’t get hurt, knowing she could defend herself easily if need be
Nothing changes much once you two are in the outside world, in fact the only thing that changes is that she becomes more comfortable holding you close in dangerous situations to keep you safe
—————
Hajime
Asshole babey needs his cuddles
Like Kyoko, he was a bit stiff when you two had your first full-on cuddle session
He just had no idea where to put his hands, or how to hold his arms, are his legs supposed to go around or under yours, is his breathing pattern bothering you???
Because of this, you tend to be the initiator and more dominant one while cuddling him
He tries to be big spoon but your hair gets in his face and he much prefers seeing your face to know if he’s doing a good job or not
So your main cuddling positions are you laying on his chest and facing each other while holding hands
Forehead kisses for days
He loves showing affection just doesn’t know how most of the time, so forehead kisses when cuddling is his main way of communicating he loves you
When around others, the idea of cuddling doesn’t even enter his mind, he just won’t think of it
This causes you to be the first to initiate it in the beginning
When you first started going out, he would jump and sometimes scream from being startled if you tried to hold his hand or hug him in front of everyone
After a few months he just grew a 6th sense- he just knew when you were about to grab onto him
In public, he’ll hold your hand so tight it’s as if he thinks it’s the last time he’ll ever be able to do so
But he doesn’t actually realize he’s doing that until you point it out
Don’t touch him when he’s stressed, he will freak out (the funhouse was absolute hell for you)
However, when Hajime is tired he’s hunting you down, he’s getting cuddles and you’re not stopping him no matter where you are
You’re in bed? He’ll flop onto your chest and bury his head there
You’re talking with friends? He’s gonna hug your waist and lean his head on your head/shoulder/back (depending on your height)
You’re reading at your desk? He leans down over you to get a kiss then hugs your neck until you’re done and can cuddle him properly
Once Izuru and Hajime merge, he’ll still go to you when he’s tired and won’t complain when you hold onto him, but he won’t initiate anything otherwise
—————
Chiaki
Sleepy gamer girl!!
You two were definitely cuddling even before you got together, she’d just lean her head on your shoulder while playing games then fall asleep
Sometimes she’ll fall asleep in the middle of a game when cuddling you, so you’ll just take her game and play it yourself
You never do as well as her obviously
When you guys do start dating, the cuddling will only increase
She’ll sit in your lap, lean into your chest, honestly she’ll be all over you
Her favorite cuddle position is one of two things depending on if she’s playing a game or not
If she is, she prefers to lean into your chest from the front between your legs while you wrap your arms around her waist
If she isn’t, she loves laying stomach down on your chest as you run your hands through her hair, it gives her a relaxed feeling as well as easier access to sleepily kiss you
At night (or really any time you lay together) she’ll fall asleep on you and you’ll just stay awake for a while petting her hair
Once she wakes up, she’ll look up and smile, kissing you softly as a greeting rather than speaking
If she falls asleep while standing up and you go to give her something to lean on, her body will let her give into you as you guide her to a soft surface to rest on
She honestly doesn’t care about PDA, if either of you want cuddles, you’ll get cuddles
She just doesn’t give two shits if anyone judges
Legit, if someone says something, she’ll ignore them either 1.) to piss them off or 2.) she just didn’t hear them
If she’s feeling frustrated, she might snap at them before turning back to you and snuggling you further
When she dies and you become a remnant with the rest of your class, you’ll keep yourself away from everyone physically to extend your need and want for her touch again
You’ll even stay away from Junko when she attempts to speak with you about your lost girlfriend, much to her despaired delight
Junko definitely keeps you close to her due to how close you were with Chiaki
Once Junko dies, Izuru is the one to keep you close, often questioning you about Chiaki- which only brings you more despair so you answer him with detail
After she dies in the neo-world program, Hajime will often visit your cottage and hold you when you begin to yearn for her cuddles again
Even after you all get out of the NWP, he’ll continue to do this for you, as he understands and misses Chiaki almost as much as you do
—————
Kaede
What can I say, she will tackle you for cuddles
If she wants to cuddle you, it’s happening, there’s no stopping it (unless you tell her you’re uncomfortable, that’s the only way it’s not happening)
Praises you while she holds you, just all the time
If you praise her back however, she’ll turn into a blushy mess, burying her face in your shoulder or arm
Her favorite cuddle position is probably when one of you holds the other to your chest and pet their hair
It doesn’t matter who’s in which spot though
She also loves when you sit next to her when she’s playing the piano and just lean on her shoulder while closing your eyes and relaxing
Or when you come up from behind her while she’s playing and rest your chin on her head with your arms around her
She just has so many cuddle positions she loves it’s hard for her to choose which is best
If you’re around others, she’ll just hold your hand or link pinkies
She doesn’t want to make you embarrassed in front of other people, even if you assure her you won’t be embarrassed, she’s gonna hold off until you’re alone or with fewer people
There are definitely times where you two will be walking around the school and hear someone coming so you back away from each other for a minute
Though if you see that it’s just Shuichi, you’ll casually just make your way back to each other
Shuichi finds it kinda cute and would want to do that if he got an s/o
Shuichi sometimes feels like a third wheel but you guys will just pull him into a hug, tell him he’s not, and continue on your way
Sometimes you three will form a chain (with Kaede in the middle) and either Shuichi or you calmly leads Kaede to where you need to go, or Kaede will pull all of you excitedly along
Usually she pulls you guys to her lab to play piano for you
When Sexy Avacado Rantaro is killed, she keeps you closer to her than usual
You figure it’s just because she’s scared or wants to protect you, so you don’t think much of it
But once you find out what actually happened, you feel almost stupid for not realizing it
How had you not noticed your girlfriend not being there for a few minutes after the alarm went off???
You two had been so close both emotionally and physically, how did you not notice her hand leaving yours???
Your silent breakdown was interrupted by her embrace, you couldn’t help but lean into it more than you ever had
But just before you could give her your final goodbye, a chain snapped around her neck and pulled her from your grip
Throughout the entire execution, Shuichi was the one to hold your hand and lead you back to your room afterwards
Once there, he reminded you of Kaede’s last words: to stay strong, find the mastermind, and get the hell out of there
From that point forward, you and Shuichi almost never separated
You had to protect her best friend
He had to protect her s/o
But of course, there were times you’d go to Kaede’s lab just to play a short song she taught you
And this time, Shuichi was the one to sit next to you and lean on your shoulder
Kaede in DR heaven is proud of y’all
—————
Shuichi
Shy baby boi
You’re definitely gonna have to ease him into cuddling as opposed to just jumping on him
The most “physical affection” he’s gotten before the game was a girl clinging to him after he solved her case
He was so uncomfortable
So be sure to take it slow for his sake, just please, he wants to be a good boyfriend and cuddle you but at first he doesn’t know if he’ll enjoy it
Once he’s more comfortable with you, he’ll attempt to initiate it more- only in private though
Like Kyoko and Hajime, he’s stiff at first, the reason being a combination of the two
He’s both inexperienced and doesn’t know how to relax fully, so it’ll often end up with you holding him
I wanna say big spoon considering I’ve said all the boys were small spoon, but come on... baby boy is small spoon
He tried being big spoon but he wasn’t super comfortable, his arm was numb and he moves around too much to stay still and hold you for a while
So instead, he’ll often have his head on your shoulder and bury it in your neck while his arm lays across your stomach
Loves when you have your head on top of his and you give his head kisses
Won’t ever tell you vocally though
In front of others he won’t do anything unless one of two things happens
1.) you start it- whether that be grabbing his hand or putting his arm around you or leaning on him, anything
2.) if he’s fed up with Kokichi’s (or sometimes Kaito’s when they first met) bullshit about saying he’s too shy to start anything about him not being a man enough to woo you
His face is burning when he’s the first one to wrap around you no matter what though
After a while, he becomes a bit of a cuddle bug
He still won’t start anything in public but he will silently ask you to hold his hand or hug his waist
After Kaede’s execution, the two of you would be on his bed nearly every night, his head either in your lap while you were sitting up or on your chest when you laid down
Give him head pets, it comforts him, just please
After training nights with Kaito, Shuichi would come back to you all sweaty and looking for cuddles to soothe his muscles
With how tired he always was, it was rather adorable
And yes, yes Maki is making fun of you two while Kaito usually gives Shuichi a look like “go get em”
Kaede in DR heaven is once again, so proud of you two when you escape

Tropical Vacation pt 8
Well, this isn't the fic I was planning to release next, but oh well-- I was feeling It.
Hey hi hello dolls! It's been a long ass time since I've updated this series, and unfortunately there aren't many tickles in this part, but there Is a ton of fluff! either the next part or the part after will be chock full of tickles! (Or both)
I hope It's alright!
Characters In this part: All of DR1 girls excluding Junko and Mukuro, All of the DR2 girls. Lee!Chihiro
Word count: 3429
All previous parts, as well as my other fics, can be found here!: Masterlist
Hina kicked at the sand absentmindedly as she gazed longingly out at the water. “Man, I really missed seeing the ocean but…” She crossed her arms and made a face. “What good Is it If I can’t swim in it!? I’m like a fish, If I don’t swim In water I’ll die!!”
Sakura smiled amusedly at her best friend. She can be so dramatic sometimes… “Hina, they said It was safe to swim In…”
“Yeah but Monokuma didn’t give me any of my swimsuits…” She mumbled dejectedly, kicking a rock into the water.
Yeah, they didn’t exactly get the chance to pack their stuff or even ask Monokuma for specific things from their rooms. Aside from the morning announcements he hasn’t even shown up-- not that anyone besides Byakuya was complaining.
“Ugh!! That’s It!” Hina ripped off her red jacket and tossed it to Sakura. “Hold my jacket, I’m going In!”
The Martial artist fumbled the piece of clothing, caught off guard by the swimmers sudden outburst. She quickly grabbed the brunette’s arm to stop her. “W-Wait! Instead of doing that… Why don’t we just go find the store and see If it carries swimsuits?” She suggested.
As usual Sakura was the voice of reason amongst the chaotic gays.
Hina paused, thinking it over. “Okay… That sounds good In theory, But what if they don’t carry them?”
“Then I’m sure they’ll carry donuts… we’ll get some to cheer you up then ask Usami if she knows where the swimsuits are.”
Aoi giggled as she took her jacket back from the tall girl and tied it around her waist. “I like the way you think!” She grinned. “Let’s go!”
“Alright, Let’s just ask Nekomaru where the store Is.”
They both looked to Neko, who had stuck around to keep an eye on Mondo.
“No need! I can show you where it is if you want.” Mahiru volunteered, suddenly behind the two.
Hina squeaked as they both quickly turned to face the Photographer.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you both.” The red head apologized with a sympathetic smile.
“Geez Mahiru!” Hina giggled, placing her hand over her still racing heart. “You got me good!”
“Are you sure? We don’t want to trouble you.”
Mahiru nodded with a smile. “I’m sure. Actually, I was coming to find you two. Apparently Usami has something to tell us girls...”
The two tensed. It’s not a motive, Is it?
“What do you think It is?” Hina asked as she started walking with Sakura and Mahiru.
“I’m honestly not sure. Normally she gathers all of us, not just the girls.” Mahiru responded.
As they crossed over the bridge to the second island, the girls of both classes came into view. Even Toko, surprisingly.
“Hey Toko!” Hina waved her hand at the writer. “Glad to see you out of your room!” she smiled as she turned to face her.
“W-Where Ha-Have you two b-b-been?!”
“We were checking out the beach.” Aoi answered. “Sorry, did we worry you?”
“D-Don’t b-be ridiculous! Why w-w-would I worry a-about you m-m-meatheads?!” she blushed.
Hina smiled and wrapped her arms around the awkward girl’s shoulders in a hug. “Aww, You WERE worried about us!”
“S-Shut up!” Toko blushed even more, batting the brunette away.
Soon enough, Usami appeared out of nowhere. Much like they were used to Monokuma doing. “Love love! Hello everyone!” She greeted the group cheerfully. “I hope you are all getting along okay!”
“We’re doing fine, Usami.” Chiaki smiled, patting Chihiro on the shoulder. She had brought them along and wanted to include them In on whatever Usami had planned.
“I’m glad to hear that.” Usami replied. “As some of you may know, I no longer have my magic stick…”
“Magic stick?” Sakura repeated quietly, confused.
“It’s a long story.” Mahiru whispered back.
“But It appears that Monokuma must have one of his own. Because there’s some new buildings on this island!” Usami explained, surprised. “One of such buildings, Is a women’s clothing boutique. Which is why I asked you all here.”
Sonia’s face brightened. “Really?? Wow! That Is wonderful!”
“I thought I should tell you all first before I told the boys.” Usami giggled. “I thought It might be a nice chance to bond with the other class’s girls.”
“And enby.” Chiaki and Mahiru both said at the same time. Chihiro smiled at the two girls In response.
“Right! I’m sorry, I’ll remember that for next time!” Usami apologized. “Anyway! There’s also a spa on the Island! So enjoy yourselves!”
She disappeared from sight, leaving the group to talk amongst themselves.
“This has to be a trick of some kind.” Kyoko said thoughtfully. “A motive, Maybe?”
“Yeah, I am not trusting It either.” Peko agreed.
“It’s gotta be a motive, It’s been too peaceful!” Hina chimed in.
“What If Monokuma put ‘Saw’ movie level traps in the clothing?” Ibuki theorized. “And the moment we put on the clothes-- SQUISH! BLEH! Off with our heads!”
Mahiru cringed at the gory sounds Ibuki tried to make, sighing softly. “I doubt he would have time to do that. But It’s definitely suspicious…”
“And why only things for girls?” Akane thought aloud. “It seems like a trap.”
“I think we should check It out regardless.” Celeste smiled. “I think a spa trip sounds lovely, perhaps even worth the risk.”
“I GOT IT!” Hina yelled in realization, all attention now on her. “WHAT IF MONOKUMA PUT SHARKS IN THE SPA?!”
“This again…? H-Hina I doubt there Is enough water for sharks in the spa.” Sakura sighed. She loved this girl, but sometimes she could be a bit… out there.
“She might actually be onto something.” Kyoko surprisingly agreed with her wild theory after a moment of thinking.
“H-H-How wo-would that e-even be possible?” Toko stammered in disbelief.
“Maybe not specifically sharks, but that would be the least suspecting place to put something dangerous.” The detective calmly theorized. “It may be too dangerous to check out without more muscle power.”
“Why do we need more muscle power? Sakura, Peko an’ I can handle it!” Akane grinned.
“No offense to you three, but there is strength in numbers.” Kyoko responded, to which Sakura and Peko nodded in agreement. “But there are less places to hide dangerous traps In a boutique, So I think we should be okay to check that out.”
“And then we get the boys to go with us to the spa?” Peko asked for clarification.
“Yes. I think that would be wise.”
So with the group in agreement (except for Toko, who immediately went back to her room), the girls and enby headed to the boutique to investigate.
After some time looking around for clues or traps, they were shocked to find it was literally just a normal clothing store… or so It seemed.
“That’s strange.” Kyoko said, surprised as she inspected a piece of clothing.
“What? Did you find something?” Chiaki asked, yawning as she approached the detective.
“It’s… just clothes.”
“You mean, These are actually safe?” Sayaka asked curiously, poking her head around the corner to look at the two girls.
“It appears so… I’d still check before you try anything on but--”
She was already back around the corner with Ibuki. “Oh my gosh, Ibuki! With some leggings this would look so cute on you!”
Sonia giggled. “I agree!”
Ibuki looked at the frilly mini dress held up against her body in pure disgust. “Eugh! Ibuki doesn’t do this style anymore, It makes Ibuki feel restricted.”
“Okay, maybe not this dress then…” Sayaka put it back and looked around for another one. “We should match for our concert though.”
While the three looked through the costume dresses, Chihiro was on the other side of the store looking at all the cute casual dresses. They felt a little self conscious looking at them.
“Hi, Chihiro.” Mahiru greeted, approaching the small programmer with her girlfriend in tow. “Are you alright?”
Chihiro jumped in surprise, immediately letting go of the dress they were looking at. “O-Oh! Hi Mahiru… Hiyoko.” They greeted the two girls shyly.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you!” Mahiru apologized with a small smile. “I was just coming over to look for a new sun dress.”
Chihiro nodded, absentmindedly going back to looking at the dress they found as Mahiru began shuffling the articles of clothing on the rack.
The red head stole a few glances over at Chihiro, noticing their hesitancy. “Are you okay?”
Hiyoko tilted her head curiously as she too looked up from the dresses.
“Y-Yeah, I’m fine! S-Sorry… am I distracting you?”
The two ultimates exchanged glances before looking back at the small enby. “Of course not… I’m just concerned about you.”
“O-Oh… there’s no reason to be concerned, I’m okay… really.” Chihiro put on the best smile they could, but Mahiru, who constantly photographed smiling people, immediately knew it was forced.
Hiyoko’s eyes scanned the clothing rack in front of Chihiro until she noticed a disturbed article of clothing, she walked over and plucked it from the rack. “This Is a cute dress.” She commented, drawing both Mahiru and Chihiro’s attention.
Hiyoko looked at the Programmer and smiled. “You should try It on.”
Mahiru had to do a double take, had someone replaced her fiery imp of a girlfriend with someone sweet???
Chihiro blushed brightly. “Um… I-I could never pull that off…”
“Sure you could.” Mahiru smiled, following Hiyoko’s lead.
“I-I don’t know…”
“Chihiro!” Sonia bounced over brightly. “You would look adorable in that!”
“Maybe If we found a sweater to go with it you’d feel better.” Chiaki smiled.
“Ooh! And some accessories!” Sayaka joined in.
Chihiro had a bad feeling about this…
“R-Really girls, I-Its okay! I was heading over to look at skirts anyways!” They tried backing away, but the girls weren’t letting them off the hook that easily.
Meanwhile, Hina found the swimsuits much to her excitement. They were pretty cute too! Some of them were plain, others had skirts to them, pretty patterns, bikinis, one pieces… you name it, they had it.
Hina picked up a red tropical flower patterned bikini with a skirt. “Check this out Sakura, It’s so cute! And It’s my size!” she squealed happily.
The martial artist stopped what she was doing and looked over at her best friend with an amused smile. “It looks nice.”
After another moment of searching she produced a similar bikini and showed It to Sakura again.
“That kind of looks like the last one.”
“Mhm! Except It’s white with red and pink flowers! What do you think?”
“It’s… pretty?”
“Good, Because It’s your size.” Hina grinned impishly.
Sakura paused. “Hina… I don’t do bikinis.”
“Why not?”
Sakura immediately got flashbacks. She recalled when she had first started gaining muscle and went to the beach with her friends, she had gotten stared at and made fun of. She was made so uncomfortable that she just went home.
“...Reasons.”
Hina pouted. She knew that was code for something serious. “Fine, I don’t want you to be uncomfortable… I’ll keep looking.”
“Thank you for respecting my--”
They were interrupted by Chihiro shrieking, they looked at each other in alarm and bolted in the direction of the sound. Upon rounding the corner they found Chihiro wrapped up in Sayaka’s arms while Chiaki and Mahiru tickled them.
Sakura sighed in relief upon seeing it was just something harmless.
Hina grinned. “You good Chihiro?” She couldn’t help but tease them.
“Hehehehelp mehehe!” They squealed as Chiaki squeezed their sides.
“Why are you all ganging up on Chihiro?” Sakura asked, feeling some pity for the smol programming bean.
“Why not?” Hina retorted. “Chihiro’s too cute not to tickle!”
“Hinahaha you’re not hehehelping!” They blushed even more.
“Oh sorry~ I’ll help you now.” Hina smiled innocently, approaching the trapped enby. The swimmer fluttered her fingers against their belly, drawing even more squeals of laughter. “There, do you feel helped now?” she giggled.
“Hahahahahaha! That’s nohohohot whahahat I meheheheant!” They whined.
“Chihiro started crying because they did not feel they could pull off this dress.” Sonia explained gently, holding the dress up. “So the others are trying to cheer them up.”
Sakura frowned. She understood where Chihiro was coming from, but literally Chihiro would look so fucking cute in that dress. It was a white ruffle sundress with a light yellow ribbon sash.
It was bewildering that Chihiro didn’t think they could pull it off…
Sakura scanned around until her eyes fell on a light yellow sweater with short sleeves, she picked it up and walked back over to the giggling programmer.
The girls stopped tickling and looked at the piece of clothing in the tall girl's hands. Chihiro slid to the floor in a heap of lingering giggles and soft gasps.
The white haired girl sat down next to them. “Chihiro, I understand how you feel. You feel like everyone Is going to be staring at you and judging you.”
They nodded meekly, staring at the floor.
“And maybe people have done that to you before…” She paused as Chihiro nodded again. “But you’re among your friends here, and we aren’t judging you In the slightest.”
“Yeah, Sakura’s right.” Chiaki agreed, sitting down too. The other girls followed suit. “We would never judge you.”
“We all have things we are self conscious about, Chihiro.” Sonia smiled kindly at the enby. “I am self conscious about my skin.”
“R-Really…? But you’re so pretty…” Chihiro looked at her.
“Thank you, but so are you.” Sonia pinched Chihiro’s cheek gently. “I burn in the sunlight, The kids I went to school with used to call me ‘Princess lobster’. So I try to avoid exposing myself to the sun.”
Chihiro blushed at the compliment and looked back down.
“I’m super self conscious about my weight.” Hina spoke up next. “I’m always weighing myself. I used to get teased for how many sweets I eat, my friends told me I was going to end up alone because no one would be able to look at me.”
“Hina, You’re gorgeous. You don’t have to worry about your weight!” Chihiro frowned.
“I used to get made fun of because I had braces when I was younger.” Sayaka shared. “They said I’d never be a singer because the metal in my braces would mess with the recording equipment.”
“Do I even need to say what I’m self conscious about?” Hiyoko sulked, folding her arms across her chest. “I’m short.”
Mahiru put her hand on Hiyoko’s shoulder. “You’ll hit a growth spurt someday.” She teased. “People called me a boy growing up.”
“I-I-I’ve al-always been s-s-s-super c-c-clumsy. People h-h-have always ma-made fun o-of me for It.” Mikan said softly.
“Of course they have, You’re a walking pile of pig barf!” Hiyoko snapped.
“Aah! I’m sorry!” Mikan cried.
Mahiru shoved her hand over Hiyoko’s mouth and pulled her into her lap to keep her contained. She sighed. Welp, so much for her being kind…
“People I went to school with used to accuse me of stuffing my bra, and constantly harassed me because of my home life.” Akane said quietly.
“I was feared, I was told I had monster eyes. Most kids avoided me.” Peko chimed In.
Kyoko looked down at her gloved hands then back up at Chihiro. “I think my insecurity should be obvious…”
“I got made fun of for loving video games. And I’ve got some pudge.” Chiaki poked her stomach.
After a moment of silence the girls looked at Sakura, who gave a hesitant sigh. “Do I need to say It?”
“Yes.” All except for Chihiro said in unison.
Sakura sighed again. “I get called ogre. People call me a freak or abomination. When I started bulking up, people told me that I looked better before and I lost a lot of friends because they were embarrassed to be seen with me.”
“Remind me to smack Hiro and Hifumi when I see them next.” Hina said quietly.
“Hiro doesn’t mean any harm by It.” she waved her off.
Hearing their friends being open about their insecurities made them feel a little better about opening up.
“Um…” Chihiro kept staring at the floor. “Kids I went to school with knew me when I Identified as a boy… and the first day I went to school in a dress, I got beat up and made fun of. Since then, I’ve been afraid to wear dresses… N-Not that skirts are much different… I’m just kind of traumatized by them.”
“Chihiro, You are adorable and beautiful.” Hina smiled warmly.
“Trust me, If anyone comes near you to beat you up or make fun of you… they’ll have a lot of people to get through first.” Chiaki added.
“You are one of a kind, don’t let people like that ruin something for you.” Sakura said gently.
Hina side eyed her, receiving a quiet; ‘shut up’ In response.
Chihiro sniffled, wiping their eyes. “Th-Thanks guys…”
“If you don’t want to try on the dress, We respect your comfort zone. You don’t have to if you don’t want to.” Mahiru put a hand on their shoulder reassuringly.
They looked at the dress In Sonia’s lap, then back up at the girls. “No… I… I want to try It on.”
“Are you sure?” Sonia asked.
They nodded, more sure this time. “You’re right. I need to learn not to take things to heart so much. Everyone has something they don’t like about themselves, even the people who picked on you.”
“That’s exactly right.” Kyoko nodded with a faint smile.
Chihiro took the dress from Sonia and stood up, they were about to head to the dressing room but they were stopped by Sakura, who handed them the matching sweater she found for the dress.
The enby gave her a smile before taking the article of clothing and retreating to the closed room with a new pep in their step.
A few minutes passed by, and something had occurred to Mahiru. “Wait a minute, Ibuki? You never said what you were made fun of for.”
Ibuki looked up at the red head, previously she had been drawing shapes on the floor with her finger waiting for Chihiro to come out. “Oh, Ibuki didn’t?”
“No, You didn’t.” Chiaki confirmed, eyeing the musician.
“Welllll…” Ibuki looked away sheepishly.
“Were you not bullied?” Sonia asked.
“N-No. Ibuki was bullied.” She sighed. “Ibuki was made fun of for the way she talks In the third person. Also the way she dressed.”
“I think It’s… endearing.” Sayaka smiled.
“Ibuki didn’t mention It because Ibuki didn’t want to be reassured or complimented.” She smiled shyly, tapping her index fingers together. “Ibuki doesn’t know how to take compliments…”
“I understand that.” Sakura responded.
Hina, again, side eyed her best friend. “I will hype you up and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
“Nothing huh?” She didn’t even bother looking at Hina, she blindly squeezed at the swimmer’s side, making her squeak and giggle as she twitched away.
“Come to think of it…” Kyoko hummed, glancing over at Celeste. “You didn’t say anything either.”
“That Is because there Is nothing I was made fun of for.” Celeste smiled, closing her eyes as she did.
Hmm… doubtful.
Chiaki looked at the wall clock. “Chihiro’s been In there a while… I think someone should go check on them.”
Before anyone else could volunteer, surprisingly, Hiyoko was on her feet. “I’ll do it.” with that she disappeared into the back room as well.
Mahiru blinked in surprise. “Should I go with her?”
No one got the chance to answer before Hiyoko came back out, Chihiro In tow.
The Traditional dancer stepped aside so the girls could see Chihiro, they were absolutely radiating happiness. “S-Sorry, I kind of froze up… How do I look?”
“Ohmigosh, Chi you look so cute!!” Hina squealed.
“That dress looks like It was made for you, You look so pretty!” Sonia beamed, stars practically in her eyes.
The Programmer giggled and twirled around in the dress happily.
The other girls quickly got over their surprise and flooded Chihiro with compliments. (even Kyoko and Celeste complimented them, shockingly.)
The rest of the boutique visit hit different for the group, they felt a lot lighter and closer than before.
Sayaka and Ibuki had decided to just coordinate colors, that way they could both wear something they wanted to wear.
Hina and Sakura found a few swimsuits they liked.
Chihiro got a bunch of different dresses and had a mini fashion show with Hiyoko, Mahiru, and Chiaki.
Right then.
Time to go find the boys and check out the spa...

Title: Lucky For Affection
Author: @komaeda-nagayto
For: @fhantomhives
Pairings/Characters: Hajime Hinata/Nagito Komaeda, various class 77 mentions
Rating/Warnings: T, no warnings
Prompt: College roommates AU
Author’s notes: I had a lot of fun writing this, so I hope you enjoy!
“Hey, Komaeda, my friend is playing at the bar tonight, you should come along.”
Nagito looked up from the book he was reading, and blinked at the man in front of him. Hajime Hinata was standing, shirtless, in the middle of their shared dorm room, smiling at Nagito. Nagito opened his mouth, closed it, and then opened it again.
“You don’t have to invite me to things to be polite,” Nagito said. Hajime had been inviting him out to everything he seemed to be going to, too nice for his own good. As much as Nagito liked Hajime (and that was quite a lot), he knew Hajime deserved far better than to spend time with the likes of Nagito.
Hajime pulled the shirt he was holding on, not yet buttoning it up. His chest was still there. Right in front of Nagito. Right there.
“What? No, that’s not why I invite you. Is that why you’ve said no all those times?” Hajime asked, a frowning crossing his face.
“What possible other reason is there?” Nagito asked.
“We’re friends,” Hajime answered immediately, sitting down on Nagito’s bed. His shirt was still unbuttoned. “I invite you to things because I want to hang out with you.” Nagito stared.
Nagito had never had a friend before. He didn’t know that Hajime considered him a friend. They were college roommates, they had to be in the same space as each other, but friends? That was something completely different.
“Oh,” Nagito responded, “I… didn’t know you thought that.” There was a brief flash of hurt in Hajime’s eyes as he looked at Nagito.
“Do you not think of me as a friend?” Hajime asked quietly, looking away from Nagito.
“No, that’s not what I was saying. You’re amazing, I don’t deserve your friendship,” Nagito said, “You’re better off without me.”
“Well, that’s wrong, and also not what I was asking,” Hajime said. He was looking back at Nagito again, concern clear in his face, “Do you want to come along tonight? It’s Ibuki’s first show at the bar.” He stood up again, starting to button up his shirt.
“Um. Yeah, sure,” Nagito said, without a moment of hesitation. Hajime was inviting him to something because he wanted to spend time with him. There was no way Nagito was going to pass that up, even though he knew he should. Nagito was just selfish in that way.
An hour later found them at the local student bar, which was loud and crowded. They had managed to find Chiaki, the only one of Hajime’s friends that Nagito had met, as the two were working on a project together. Chiaki greeted them both before Hajime went to grab some drinks for them all.
“When does your friend start?” Nagito asked.
“Oh, Ibuki is opening, which is good, it means I can leave early and go to sleep.” To make her point, Chiaki then yawned, before continuing, “You haven’t agreed to come when Hajime invited you out before.” Nagito shrugged.
“I thought he was just being polite,” Nagito said. Chiaki giggled.
“That’s not it at all. He talks about you all the time,” Chiaki said, very amused. She wasn’t able to elaborate, because that was when Hajime came back with a bottle of soda for each of them.
Hajime flung an arm around Nagito’s shoulder as he and Chiaki chatted about a game. Nagito had seen Hajime play games on his laptop, which made sense, he supposed, Hajime was studying computer sciences after all, and had told Nagito that he wanted to go into software development, and make video games.
Nagito wasn’t really listening to what Hajime and Chiaki were saying, more focused on the arm draped around his shoulder. It probably meant nothing, Nagito had seen friends like that before, his more-than-friendly feelings for Hajime couldn’t be reciprocated. Nevertheless, it was nice to be so close to Hajime.
It wasn’t long until Hajime’s friend Ibuki Mioda was on the small stage, playing some very loud music. She seemed to be having a good time, and played three songs before her set ended and she jumped away from the stage and towards them.
“Hajime! Chiaki!” Ibuki yelled, “You came! Ibuki is happy to see you!” She hugged both of them before looking at Nagito, “Hi! Ibuki Mioda! You must be Nagito Komaeda!” She hugged him too before going off to find the other friends who had come and were somewhere in the crowd.
“She… how did she know who I am?” Nagito asked.
“I told you, Hajime talks about you all the time,” Chiaki said, giggling again. Nagito gave Hajime a curious look, and noted that he was a little red.
“OK, that’s enough from you,” Hajime said, shoving Chiaki gently. Chiaki kept giggling.
“I should go home now, I need some sleep,” Chiaki said. They bade farewell and waved after Chiaki as she left.
“How are you feeling? Want to go find some of my other friends, or did you want to head back?” Hajime asked.
“Oh, if you want to go hang out with your friends, don’t let me stop you,” Nagito said immediately.
“I can hang out with them whenever,” Hajime said, waving a hand dismissively, “I’m asking how you are, you don’t get out much and this might already be a bit much for you.” Nagito blinked, a surprised expression on his face. No one had ever considered his feelings like that before.
Everything Hajime said and did made Nagito love him more.
“I’m okay, I’d like to meet your friends,” Nagito said, not entirely lying. He wanted to spend time with Hajime, and he knew Hajime must have good friends, he couldn’t imagine anything otherwise.
Hajime beamed, and together they went looking through the crowd, Hajime introducing Nagito to them, each of them seeming to recognise Nagito by name alone. The rest of the night seemed to go by, the group having some good laughs before parting ways.
*
After the first time Nagito went with Hajime to spend time with his friends, Nagito had joined various similar outings. He still felt like an outsider, he wasn’t quite part of the group, he was only there because Hajime brought him, but it nice time spent with Hajime.
Even though they were roommates, they really didn’t spend much time together, outside of classes and the group outings, they were both busy with studying. So, even if Nagito had to share his time with Hajime with Hajime’s friends, Nagito didn’t mind. He was just happy that Hajime wanted to spend time with him at all.
The current outing was ten pin bowling with Hajime’s friends Kazuichi, Gundham, Sonia, Fuyuhiko, and Peko. The game had been going well, with Nagito getting a strike with every turn to much encouragement.
It was Nagito’s last turn as he stepped up to the bowling lane, and just as he was about to release the ball, he tripped, falling to the ground and the ball escaping his hands. Two things happened simultaneously. Hajime rushed over to check on Nagito while the others watched as the bowling ball landed in the lane to the left of their, rolling and giving that lane a strike.
Loud, confused cheering erupted around them, and Hajime kneeled next to Nagito.
“You okay?” Hajime muttered, and Nagito looked up, feeling liquid pour from his nose.
“Need tissues,” Nagito said. Hajime nodded, helping Nagito standing up and leading him back to the group, grabbing some serviettes and handing them to Nagito, he immediately pressed them to his face.
“I should get Nagito back to our dorm,” Hajime said.
“No need to worry about me,” Nagito said, “I think the blood is stopping.” He pulled the serviette from his face, revealing the dried blood around his nose and on his chin.
“The game is over anyway,” Hajime said, “You were the last one to go.”
“Well, we were going to get some drinks if you wanted to come with us,” Sonia spoke up.
“Thanks, but not this time. You have fun though,” Hajime said. Nagito frowned.
“You should go with your friends, I’ll be fine,” Nagito said.
“I’m not arguing with you about this,” Hajime said, turning to his friends, “Have fun guys, I’ll see you later.” With that they all started to head out of the bowling alley, saying good bye just outside the door.
Kazuichi was the last to say good bye to Hajime, whispering something to him which caused Hajime to shove him slightly. Kazuichi laughed loudly before catching up with the others, Hajime and Nagito walking the other way back towards their dorm.
“You could have spent time with your friends,” Nagito said.
“I did. Now I’m spending time with you, also my friend,” Hajime said, sighing a little. Nagito chose not to argue with him, Hajime had made his decision.
The two walked in companionable silence for a short time, the dorm not too far from the bowling alley.
“It’s a beautiful night,” Nagito said after a short time, looking up at the sky. It was a near cloudless night, the stars sparkling in the dark sky while the moon was a waning crescent. Hajime nodded, mumbling in agreement as he moved closer. He seemed to make a strange hand spasm in Nagito’s direction before putting his hand in his pocket, a light blush across his cheeks.
It was only a short time before they arrived back at their dorm, Nagito going in first and moving to his bed, picking up one of the books he’d been reading for class. Hajime stood in the middle of their dorm room, fidgeting with his hands a little nervously.
“Did you, uh, do you want to watch a movie with me?” Hajime asked. Nagito looked up from his book with confusion. This was new.
“Um, sure,” Nagito said, “What are we watching?”
“Well, there’s a few options,” Hajime said, sitting on his bed and grabbing his laptop, “Is there anything in particular you like? Chiaki and I share our Netflix account, so anything on there, plus I’m sure I can find anything else.”
“You and Chiaki are close,” Nagito said slowly.
“She’s my best friend,” Hajime said, “She’s the reason I even have some idea of what I want to do with my life, she and I play so many games together and one day she suggested we make a game. I had no idea what I was going to study before that, but that idea really resonated with me, you know?”
“I’m glad,” Nagito said, smiling, “If she hadn’t helped you like that, we wouldn’t have met.”
“Then she’s helped me in more ways than one,” Hajime said, looking up from his laptop and meeting Nagito’s eyes with a soft expression. They looked at each other a moment, before Hajime moved over to Nagito’s bed with his laptop, sitting next to him.
They quickly decided on a movie, Nagito not really minding what it was, more focused on the fact that Hajime was right next to him, pressed up as they sat on this single bed, barely designed for one grown adult let alone two.
They were about halfway through the movie when Nagito heard some sort snoring. He looked over to see Hajime asleep, his mouth open, his head on Nagito’s shoulder.
Nagito smiled, admiring how adorable Hajime looked asleep, and decided to pause the movie, putting Hajime’s laptop to the side and closing it. He pulled his blanket over both of them and lay down, letting himself fall asleep as well.
*
When Nagito woke, it took him a moment to remember what had happened the previous night. As he rubbed his eyes, he noticed that Hajime was facing him, looking at him with a soft, fond expression.
“Good morning,” Hajime said quietly.
“Morning,” Nagito replied. He blinked a couple of times, “I would have thought you’d leave after you woke up.”
“No, this is nice,” Hajime said, smiling. Nagito was confused, but didn’t argue. They were still squished in this tiny bed, their bodies pressed together, and he wasn’t going to say anything to make that stop.
The confusion must have shown on Nagito’s face, though, because Hajime sat up with an apologetic look towards Nagito.
“Sorry, are you uncomfortable? I didn’t mean to fall asleep when we were watching the movie, but you never woke me up so when I woke and I was here and you were here I assumed it was fine,” Hajime said, really quickly.
“It’s fine,” Nagito said. More than fine, but he wasn’t going to say that. Hajime nodded, and seemed to calm down a little.
An awkward silence fell over the room. It was clear that Hajime had something to say, but was unsure. He didn’t move from the bed, and started to rub at his hands nervously.
“Nagito, listen, I- ” Hajime cut himself off and shook his head. He bit his lip, and purposely avoided looking at Nagito.
“Hajime?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Hajime muttered. He swung his legs around, making to get off the bed. Nagito reached out and grabbed Hajime’s arm.
“Something is bothering you, Hajime. You can tell me,” Nagito said softly. Hajime sighed a little.
“Okay. I hope I haven’t been reading things wrong,” Hajime said, turning back to face Nagito. Meeting his eyes, Nagito could see a slight fear. That, combined with the words Hajime had said, made no sense, but he would just wait for Hajime to explain. He nodded encouragingly.
“Nagito, you are really great,” Hajime said, and then frowned, scrunching his nose slightly, “maybe that’s not… words aren’t my strong point. Can I kiss you?”
Nagito’s eyes widened, and he leaned back slightly, completely taken aback. Hajime seemed to take this as a rejection, he nodded sadly and looked away.
“Sorry, I really must have misread things, I’m sure we can arrange a room swap if you don’t want to be roommates anymore, and – mmph!” Hajime’s sentence was cut off by Nagito pulling Hajime to face him and pressing their lips together. As they kissed Hajime’s tense shoulders loosened, his arms wrapping around Nagito. Hajime pulled Nagito in closer, deepening the kiss.
The kiss lasted until Nagito started to feel breathless. They broke apart slightly, Nagito’s hands cupping Hajime’s face with a smile.
“I didn’t think that you could ever like me that way,” Nagito said, “I count myself lucky to even be your friend.” Hajime reached up and stroked Nagito’s cheek softly.
“I know you don’t think highly of yourself, but one day I will show you how wrong you are. How could I not be attracted to you?” Hajime said. He then leant forward and kissed Nagito on the forehead, “I didn’t know if you felt the same. I thought you might, I was hoping you did, but I was worried. I’m glad you do.”
“Of course I do,” Nagito said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. To Nagito it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Well, I didn’t know that,” Hajime said, laughing a little.
“Well, let me show you again,” Nagito said with a sly smile. Hajime raised an eyebrow questioningly, and Nagito went in for another kiss, this one soft and quick.
“Mmm,” Hajime murmured as the kiss ended, their lips still close together, “I think I need more proof.” Nagito was happy to oblige, and the two continued to share proof of their feelings for the rest of the morning.

Last and longest, 1600 words. Manga spoilers.
———————————————————-
The lack of footsteps at night is disconcerting.
Jujutsu High isn’t that different from her former residence, in the sense of being nested in a forest and built in a traditional style. Sleeping on a bed instead of a futon took some time to get used to, but it was fine. The sounds coming from outside are just what she’s used to — the odd night bird, the crickets and cicadas taking turns to compose a strident symphony that, she learned a few years prior, does bother many city people — and would effortlessly lull her to sleep was it not for the lack of percussion from inside.
The Tatsumi manor is a hub of activity day and night, a natural consequence of being an extense family with servants. It is the latter who mainly move at night, while the family members are asleep, either finishing their work for the day or getting an early start for the next. Shiho didn’t pay them any mind when she moved to that residence, but as she grew up she learned to distinguish the regular footsteps of the staff from the occasional interruptions in their routine. Once a pattern broke, it meant that something was happening in the house, and if that was the case, it was best to stay still and listen until the storm blew over. Chiaki, on occasion, hid in Shiho’s room at night, and Shiho played along if Chiaki was questioned about it. Their story was that Shiho had nightmares and was scared of sleeping alone, and since Chiaki’s job was to be at her beck and call day and night, they didn’t think anything of it.
Shiho’s used to waking up at once when a floorboard creaks too close to her room, but having no noise at all? It is unnatural, and the empty space where all the noise should be doesn’t feel any better than the constant, familiar state of vigilance.
If she’s lucky, she’s so tired that the lights turn off the moment her head hits the pillow. But excluding the days when she’s sent to get field experience, the moments of absolute exhaustion are less and less frequent the more her physical condition strengthens and she doesn’t have to exert herself so much to complete her daily tasks.
It’s the end of the second semester and she’s staring at the ceiling of her room for the second night in a row. Suguru expressed concern that morning when he saw her sleepy face, which was very sweet of him, but then the others poked fun at how gross she looked and nobody paid her any mind anymore. She isn’t looking forward to running on three hours of sleep again, but she hopes that at least that means that she’s going to sleep like a rock the next day. It often works like that.
She’s lost count of how many times she’s turned in her bed when something hits the deck outside and she jumps out of her skin because she didn’t hear anything approaching.
She waits, ear trained outside, when the same thing happens. Confused, and perhaps the slightest bit scared, she leaves her bed to check through the curtains. It takes her a while to notice the two small pebbles sitting on the deck. Long enough, in fact, that another one collides with it before she can open the glass door and look at the direction from which it came.
Four empty rooms down the row, Gojo Satoru is lying on the floor with half his body inside his room and half on the deck, undoubtedly the sniper Shiho was looking for, and she replies to his hostile advances with the universal arm gesture for what are you doing?
“Can’t sleep,” he says.
She blinks very slowly. She’s probably grimacing, but people shouldn’t be required to be self-aware in the wee hours of the night. Morning? So she thinks what the hell, backs into her room to get a jacket, and she walks the length of the deck towards him.
It is so tempting to step on his face that she gives in.
“You’re so mean.” He’s grinning when she removes the foot from his face because, evidently, she hasn’t been able to touch him.
“Couldn’t resist,” she says, or at least tries to when a huge yawn makes its way out at the same time. He chuckles. “Trying to wake up people while they sleep is mean too.”
“You weren’t sleeping, though.”
Her eyes narrow. “Are you spying on me?”
“Not intentionally. All the rooms between yours and mine are empty. I see your cursed energy.”
“You could look at Suguru’s.” Who is adjacent to him on the other side.
He pouts. “But he’s asleep.”
This time he moves to push her away when her feet starts to descend on his face again.
Satisfied with that, Shiho sits cross legged next to him. “Why are you here?”
“The Six Eyes make it hard to sleep.”
Oh. That made a lot of sense. “That’s shitty.”
He laughs good naturedly, but there’s a tired edge to it. “What’s your deal?”
“Not enough noise.”
“...Seriously?”
“Yeah. I guess I’m not used to it yet.”
“I didn’t take the Tatsumi manor for a lively place. Every time I’ve met the head of your family he looked like was trying to dislodge a pole from his ass and failing.”
Her mouth twists at the memory of the man. “He’s not trying, I assure you.”
“Not fond of him?”
He takes her lack of response as a valid answer, though it isn’t as though she didn’t want to talk. She just didn’t know how to word what she needed to say.
“Not fond of him.”
She settles on what she thinks is a good enough response to an audience who will appreciate it. “He and his sons can choke.”
It’s the closest he’s seen Satoru to wearing a scandalized look. Not quite there, though, but he was not expecting that comment from her.
“They’re awful. Very… traditional, in the worst possible sense.”
“Hmm. So I’ve heard.”
She wonders how much, but she doesn’t ask.
“Sometimes I stargaze when I can’t sleep,” he suddenly says, and she welcomes the distraction.
Looking up, she understands what he was doing on the floor. “Oh.”
The idle thought that it makes sense, since his eyes look a lot like a lighter version of the starry sky above the school lingers for a bit in her mind before she realizes what she’s thinking and frowns. When has she developed a flair for the artistic?
“The eaves get in the way, though. Wanna go up?”
“Up where?”
He points at the roof. “Duh.” He gets up and smiles in that way of his that says he’s going to get his way and he knows it, and extends a hand towards Shiho. “Are you coming or not?”
Shiho regards the hand as a contract she should meticulously read before signing. Logically speaking, he is the fastest way to the roof, and she is unwilling to climb, so it’s either his hand or resuming her contemplation of the ceiling. Of course, accepting the offer also means a measure of trust that she’s not sure she should give to anyone grinning that way, much less this guy. “Fine.”
She’s taking his hand at the same time she gives her reply, and the word is barely out of her mouth when she’s suddenly standing barefooted on inclined singles.
After a brief second of panic in which she grasps his hand painfully tight, she regains her balance and says, “You’re a menace.” She hears him laugh and suspects he takes it as a compliment. Maybe he should.
They do their best not to slip as they sit down, but their shuffling around must have been louder than they thought, or maybe their neighbor is a light sleeper, because no sooner than they’ve made themselves comfortable, there’s a sound of sliding doors below and Suguru walks out of his room. Uncannily coordinated, they stay very still and quiet and watch their classmate inspect his surroundings to locate the source of the noises, but the moment he looks up at them Shiho’s face is split by a sincere smile and she waves at him.
He’s confused, and frowning, but mostly confused. “What are you doing?”
“We can’t sleep! Come with us?” she asks, hopeful.
“Yeah, what are you waiting for?”
For a second before Satoru opened his big mouth it looked like he was going to say yes, but instead he retorts, “Are you stupid? We have class in the morning!”
Shiho gets it, because Satoru’s face always makes everyone want to say no. It’s hilarious and annoying, depending on what side of the conversation you’re on.
“Bring snacks!” he says at his friend, and Shiho lets out an unladylike snort that makes her cover her mouth.
Suguru looks so affronted by the assumption that he’s going to join them in their nonsense that they’re convinced that he’s gone back inside to sleep, but he surprises them when he reappears right away and throws a bag of crackers at Satoru that does hit him smack dab in the middle of the face, and Shiho’s still vicariously celebrating that little victory when he steps on the roof with the help of a curse and sits between the two of them.
“Someone needs to keep an eye on you,” he says to Satoru with a smile of his own, taking back his bag of crackers and opening it.
Shiho doesn’t get her three hours of sleep, but she thinks the tradeoff’s been worth it.

This is my classpect master post for Danganronpa 2! It's been a while since my post for the first game, mostly because I was stuck on a few characters (it was much harder overall for some reason), but I'm finally done, god bless. I’m hoping to start and finish V3 soon to work on the next classpect post
Hinata Hajime- Page of Hope
-actively exploits and is served possibilities and positivity. Hope was easy for Hajime, because even though he's more of a "realist" than our other hope players, he's a fantastic beacon of encouragement to the people around him. Somehow he just knows the right things to say in order to lift people's spirits. He definitely didn't start out with much hope himself though. He was bitter and futureless, attending the Hope's Peak reserve course as more of a conciliatory prize than anything. But Chiaki bumped into him and gave him the belief that he's not any worse by not having a talent. And later, he was given a huge opportunity to take part in the "hope cultivation plan". There's a lot of self-denial going on with him, trying not to admit to others that he's only in the reserve course and trying to convince himself that he doesn't care that much, which runs rampant in pages and knights.
Kamukura Izuru - Muse of Hope
-passively embodies possibilities and beliefs. On my previous classpect post with the DR1 characters, I said I didn't do the master classes but I've changed my mind. I'm not going to go back and edit my post but I'm definitely sorting Junko as a lord and Izuru as a muse. There's nothing else he could be. Extreme passivity and preoccupation with personal belief and possibilities (what is interesting, what is boring, is there anything I can't do?). He *is* possibilities in that he has so many talents, he can do nearly anything. Also, this just goes to show that no class, aspect, or title is inherently good or bad. Some might be more inclined to, uh, moral confusion, but we all make our own choices.
Owari Akane- Mage of Life
-actively understands and guides energy and growth. Life seems a pretty solid fit for her, as she's basically grown up overcoming obstacles, metaphorically and literally as she does parkour and gymnastics. Her relationship with food is all about energy and not about quality (... she eats crushed flowers after Hiyoko tells her you get more protein when you crush the food). What really sold me on mage though, was her intuition. She's really noted for her accurate gut feelings; she can tell when someone is strong even when they don't look it and I learned after reading her wiki that in the "ultimate talent development plan" she could sense Mukuro and Maki weren't who they appeared to be.
Komaeda Nagito- Bard of Light
-passively destroys information and fortune. A lot of people say he's hope but while that could fit, light fits so much better. His cycle of good luck & bad luck makes sense as he's drawn to luck as a light player but then destroys it as a bard. Most importantly though, the way he wields information like a weapon to confuse and undermine people really solidifies it for me. Somehow, someway, he always knows (or acts like he knows) much more than everyone around him. His dialogue is endless exposition and self-centered but all his information is given to manipulate people and tear them down.
Pekoyama Peko- Knight of Doom
-passively serves systems, restrictions, and suffering. She serves the system she's always known. She is a tool to be wielded by Fuyuhiko and nothing more. Her feelings and desires are pushed down because there's no point in expressing them. She's very good at what she does though, she definitely exploits the rules she adheres by enough to be called an Ultimate. And even though she doesn't express her emotions, it's clear that her suffering has made her empathetic, as she's respectful and one of the few people who holds basic decency towards Nagito.
Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko- Prince of Blood
-actively destroys through relationships and bonds. He's destructive and he acts like it; heir was the only other class I was considering but he's very active and more into intentional destruction than unintentional changes. Obviously he destroys nearly any chance of close relationships with his classmates, but as a yakuza his job is to use his connections to lead, which often involves tearing down other gangs and ties. And finally, he destroys his only real relationship after Peko is executed after he orders her to kill Mahiro.
Hanamura Teruteru- Maid of Rage
-actively creates rage and limitations. I think maid fits well from the start, as he's a cook and that's all about creation. He definitely inspires rage in people, and the doubt and disbelief of rage is very evident in his constant denial of his surroundings. He created a lot of fear and negativity in himself because he wouldn't settle on believing or refusing what was going on- he needed to know the truth and that drove him to acting out. His insistence on being called "chef" and that he's from the city both fuel a sort of self-delusion that seems to be common with rage.
Nanami Chiaki- Rogue of Blood
-passively steals and relocates relationships and bonds. She is very focused on interpersonal relationships, and not just those centered on herself. To some extent, she's able to connect with everyone including reserve course Hajime, and black sheep Nagito. In the game, she's *really* good at redirecting people. If they're focused on arguing with someone, she manages to turn it around for the better, like with Hiyoko's shrine to Mahiru. She also fits the rogue archetype well, as in the anime she was an outcast in the beginning, and- this might just be my opinion- honestly I don't think anyone ever seriously got close to her as well as they did with some of the others.
Tanaka Gundham- Witch of Hope
-actively changes beliefs and possibilities. Honestly, I could see a bit of everything in him. I think witch fits very well with his aesthetic, but it also fits his choices. Witches are highly active but often off doing their own thing instead of cooperating with everyone; he spent more time looking for his earring than investigating for the first trial. Hope very clearly fits the zany belief system he has, but it also fits in other ways. It's not obvious because of his vernacular, but he has a crazy amount of optimism; he gets regular remarks ranging from "politely shunning" to "outright hurtful" and they never seem to seriously bother him. I view his act in chapter 4 as a grand example of changing his classmates' hope.
Sonia Nevermind- Knight of Breath
-passively exploits and serves through freedom and direction. While she is a princess, she definitely does not act like a prince. Instead she considers her title to essentially be a servant to her people. She isn't above them in anything but position, and she needs to direct them to a better future. She is cooperative and helpful to the rest of the class but not in the healer way a sylph would be, more in the useful motivator kind of way. She serves the team by keeping a composed head and encouraging everyone to stay calm and work towards the goal. She expresses the motivation and direction aspects of breath more so than freedom but it still shows in her detachment from everyone else due to her status. She's never really had close bonds before Hope's Peak.
Saionji Hiyoko- Thief of Time
-actively steals time. I went through several different titles for her in between analyzing other characters. She definitely fits the role of thief with a personality comparable to Vriska and Meenah. Dancing is a time activity as you need perfect timing for a routine, and traditional dancing even more so since it's lasted for centuries. Personally, I think because of her upbringing she is not quite acting as she wants to, and is ghosting the knight of space. She wants to be bold and confident, able to take up the time of others and act meaningfully, but she's hesitating; serving others space to keep them away and is pretending she's more capable than she is. She was kept spoiled and helpless growing up which means she developed the personality and drive of a thief, but not the skills needed for one.
Mioda Ibuki- Sylph of Heart
-passively heals emotions and sense of self. To me she is very clearly a heart player. She's very sure who she is and doesn't mind expressing it, and all of her free time events with Hajime are centered around helping him with his identity. She's friendly and gets along with pretty much everyone in some way, including "Byakuya", Mikan, and Hiyoko; all of which are not so easy to hold friendships with. I think it's interesting how much she likes "Byakuya" considering his constant identity crisis and I wonder if she can sort of sense that. She's loud and she stands out, but she's a pretty passive person concerning her actual actions and mostly helps people individually.
Souda Kazuichi- Page of Space
-actively exploits and is served space. I like space for him; I think the creationistic, physically-oriented, free-flowing structure of space suits his nature well. He's more concerned with the journey rather than getting to the perfect end results, as shown by the examples we have of his machines. One of his inventions automatically draws the lines on a soccer field but it had no stopping mechanism and escaped from the school grounds- it was quite a success to him though! He dreams of creating an incredibly fast bike that he can't even ride and he enjoys every step of the process even though it's taking him a while. He has created an intimidating physical persona for himself by dying his hair and wearing contacts to give him a punk look, but others comment that it doesn't quite match his jumpy, anxious personality. This is on-par for pages, who often feel the need for a mask, because he is now served space by strangers due to his appearance.
Koizumi Mahiru- Seer of Space
-passively guides and understands space. I struggled with her a bit as we really don't know much about her. She's kind of plain compared to the other outlandish personalities and she says she doesn't open up to Hajime as much as she would with a girl. Space is about creation, physicality, location, and enjoying the moment. Her interest in photography satisfied all of those especially with how she views it; she captures pictures of people smiling to create a record of the current moment. She's very level headed and is good at seeing the whole ~picture~ (hehe). She's not a very active person but she's quick to give her opinion and advice if she thinks someone is on the wrong track.
Tsumiki Mikan- Bard of Rage
-passively destroys through negativity and limitations. Rage was easy for her; she's surrounded in negativity and it tends to annoy (and occasionally enrage) those around her. It provides a unique contrast with Nagito, as she subverts the usual motive for killing (hope of getting off the island) and kills only for despair. It is, of course, expected for a bard to flip their lid, but she also acts as a bard before remembering her prior life. She does destroy some of the limitations through the first two trials by providing autopsies when the Monokuma files didn't cut it, and she very clearly represses her own rage at her abusers nearly 24/7. I think it's also worth mentioning that on a fictional level, rage and hope both are often associated with a sort of hand-wavey deus ex machina bullshit which I'd say applies to her ability to retrieve the memories of her past life due to the despair disease, even though it didn't work that way for anyone else.
Nidai Nekomaru- Heir of Mind
-passively changes actions and logic. The English translation of his ability is "team manager", but when he explains his skill, he doesn't focus on teams, he focuses on the athlete themself, so "coach" or "trainer" would be more apt I think. And a trainer is focused on changing your actions, getting you to perform better and better. Despite his loud and boisterous personality, he tends to be pretty level headed. He's able to clearly ascertain what each individual athlete needs to improve and create an orderly regiment for them. It took me a while to decide on heir, but it fits better than any other class I feel, as he does inherit the title from Daisuke, a team manager he shared time in the hospital with who later died, and his personality is similar to the other heirs we know in Homestuck.
Ultimate Imposter- Maid of Void
-actively creates nothingness and secrets. I was originally gonna go with heart because of identity issues, but after reading their wiki because I didn't want to rewatch the anime, most of their issues stem from feeling like they don't exist, feeling like nothing, which is spot on for void. Not to mention they need to keep their secret while impersonating someone, and they have to basically create secrets whenever people ask them personal information about whoever they're portraying at the time. They are made of nothingness, with no name, no background, and they create more of it when providing falsities to their classmates. Even without the pun of "made" and "maid", they're a very kind and helpful person no matter who they're posing as.

Found (Chapter 2) - Morisawa Chiaki/Reader
Summary: Chiaki can vaguely remember that time in kindergarten when he saved a girl during a school field trip but he knows that it was the first time he became someone’s hero. With only a dolphin plush and a worn-out handkerchief to remind him of that memory, he finally meets her again.
A/N: This chapter took longer than i expected but hopefully the length is worth the wait~ Hope you enjoy this chapter!
Chapter 2: Lending A Hand
-
“She’s what?”
“Hmm? She’s the cafe’s owner. Kaoru told me last time we went there with Souma.”
Chiaki didn’t realize the fact until after they left the cafe, and the first thing that concerned him was if he was at any point rude to her while they were talking the other day. Judging by her reactions, she probably wasn’t but he’s really not the type who can read people’s emotions accurately. Plus, that was just the first time they met, so he wouldn’t really know. Kanata should’ve really told him. But Chiaki can’t really blame him since Kanata must've thought the brunette already knew.
Chiaki shakes the thought off as he rounds the corner to the street where the cafe is located.
Visiting the cafe in the morning would probably be a bad idea since the children might recognize him and cause a commotion. He recalls a lot of Ryuseitai meet and greet events where the children would just gather around and cling onto him in adoration. Not that he dislikes it one bit, but he might cause too much ruckus in the cafe that it disrupts the rest of the customers. So he decides a late afternoon visit would be better, where the crowd would be thinner.
Or so he thought.
The moment he enters the cafe, a pair of children run past him, almost bumping into his legs if he hadn’t moved away in time. The children’s area is completely full and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere from two days ago was gone.
He spots the owner by the display case, reaching for a stuffed bear to lend to a waiting girl by her feet. “Alright now. Take good care of her while we get your Ranger Pink parfait ready, okay?” She says, her voice in a gentle and soothing tone.
The girl sniffles and rubs her eyes before taking the bear. “...Okay. Thank you, Onee-san!” She gives her new friend a pat before trotting back to her mother. The mother mouths a small ‘thank you’ as her daughter approaches and the owner waves in reply.
Chiaki walks over just as the owner turns to the door. “Oh, you really came!” She says, a hint of excitement in her voice. However, as soon as she realizes this her cheeks turn a light shade of pink and she clears her throat to hide her embarrassment. “–I mean, welcome! Please have a seat and we’ll get back to you for your order.” The change of her tone to a more business-like one didn’t go unnoticed by Chiaki, but he passes the observation as simply being courteous.
“Thanks. I’ll be over there, then.” Chiaki points to an empty table near the children’s area and she nods before getting back to work. Now’s probably a good time to go over the script for another job while he waits, and so he opens the folder he brought with him and starts skimming over the lines.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when a glass of water was placed on the table in front of him and was greeted again by the owner, just like the first time he visited the cafe. The only difference is that this time, she is looking more troubled than cheerful.
“I am so very sorry!” She suddenly blurts out, bowing her head. “We haven’t had this many customers at this time of the day and… well our other staff is still sick so–Ah! Sorry! I shouldn’t be blabbering all this to a customer!” She says and apologizes once more. He’s never seen her this flustered before.
“Ah, no it’s fine really. I didn’t even notice how long it has been since I started reading through this.” Chiaki quickly replies, trying to ease her worries. He had a habit of getting too engrossed in whatever he’s reading and losing track of time, after all, so a few minutes of waiting shouldn’t bother him too much.
“But it’s already been an hour since you arrived and we haven’t attended to you yet,” she regretfully explains, “so please let me take your order now and I'll get started on it immediately!” She takes out a notepad and waits for his reply.
An hour, huh? Chiaki thinks and peeks over behind her to the children section. It’s still packed, with the most children holding stuffed animals from the display case. They must already be waiting for their orders too. The barista counter has several parfaits on it, ready to be served. There are also a few new customers who are looking around and probably waiting for a staff to attend to them. It’s one heck of a war she’ll be returning to once she takes his order.
“Umm… Sir?” She hesitantly calls, clearly still anticipating his response, and Chiaki looks back at her.
“You have a lot of people today, huh?”
“Y-Yes. I’m really sorry for–”
“Would you mind me helping out?”
“What?” Her tense shoulders drop in confusion as Chiaki stands up and takes a quick view of the cafe once more.
“I can go wait tables and entertain the kids to free you some tasks.” He offers, hands now on his hips and wearing a confident smile on his face. She was surprised by the offer but she quickly shakes her head.
“But that’s– We can’t possibly let a customer do that and not to mention an i–”
“It’s fine, really. A hero would never pass up any chance of helping others!”
But despite her best efforts to dissuade him from taking the place of their sick employee, she eventually gives in. Partly because she had a long queue of orders that needed preparing and she no more time to waste arguing, but mostly because of Chiaki’s persistent convincing. He had good intentions, after all.
-
Chiaki is a natural at this, being an idol and all, and is able to settle down the waiting customers, especially the children. It was only a matter of time before the chaotic atmosphere died down.
He stops for a moment to look back at the counter to see how they’re doing with the orders, and he sees her trying her best to calm an upset boy, who was stomping his feet in front of the display case.
“I want to play with the dolphin!” The boy cries, pointing his finger on the worn out dolphin plush at the top shelf.
“I’m really sorry. That one’s only for display.” She gently replies, crouching down to meet the boy’s eyes.
“But I want to see what it looks like up close! Mommy and I went to an aquarium yesterday and I didn’t see the real one because I was scared. So I want to play with the blue dolphin!” The boy raises his voice, already on the verge of tears. She bites her lip, not knowing what to do.
“...Mr. Dolphin up there is really old, you see? If we suddenly take him outside, he’ll… um… he might get hurt.” She tries her best to explain it to him in a way he can understand but the boy was not budging, still holding that disappointed frown on his face. “A-Anyway, I can’t really take Mr. Dolphin out. You can play with the other animals, if you like–”
“It’s just for a few minutes until Mommy comes back. Why won’t you let me play with him?!” The boy shouts and stands on his tiptoes, pressing his little hands on the glass screen and attempting to slide it open.
“W-Wait! It’s dangerous, don’t–”
Chiaki is quick to rush over, reaching out for the boy to lift him up and away from the display case. The boy was stunned by the sudden action, with eyes staring wide at Chiaki as he put him down.
“Now, now. Good boys should listen to the grown-ups. It’ll be hard for you to be a hero if you keep causing trouble.” Chiaki then says.
“But the dolphin...” The boy looks back up at the dolphin, frowning even more.
Chiaki places a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “You said you went to an aquarium, yeah?”
The boy nods and wipes little beads of tears forming on his eyes. “...Yeah.”
“What was it like seeing the other fish up close?” Chiaki asks, and almost instantly the small tantrum is forgotten as the boy looks at him with excited eyes.
“There were so many colorful fish and they were swimming together!” He spreads his arms wide as he tells the brunette. “There was this one fish with… um...”, the boy looks at his hands and tries to count on his fingers, “... eight legs!”
“Wow! That looks cool! How does a fish with eight legs swim, I wonder?” Chiaki exclaims and the boy looks happy to have someone listen to his stories.
The boy's face lights up at an idea. “Oh! I can show you what it looks like!” And he starts tugging at Chiaki’s hand. “Let me draw it for you.”
Before Chiaki is dragged away, he turns to her, who was still surprised at how easily he handled the situation. “I’ll take care of the boy here, you go and tend to the other customers.” He reassures her, giving her a quick wink to ease her worries and she gives a relieved smile.
“Alright, thank you.” She nods before heading back to the counter to retrieve the next batch of orders to serve. Chiaki continues to listen to the child as he draws with the crayons and sheets of paper on the table. The eight-legged fish the boy was talking about was actually an octopus. The boy then starts to tell Chiaki about the other creatures he saw on his aquarium visit and the brunette listens patiently.
From behind the child, Chiaki sees the owner slowly making her way to the display case, careful not to alert the boy of her presence. He and the boy were seated at a table with the boy having his back turned from the shelf, so when she opened the glass door and reached for the dolphin, the boy didn’t notice.
She meets Chiaki’s eyes for a moment, and signals him to stay quiet and continue distracting the boy. He nods and she quickly ducks behind the counter and into the staff room with the dolphin. She is probably hiding it so the boy would forget about it.
The rest of the afternoon went smoothly thanks to Chiaki’s help and they were able to reach closing time without incident. That was probably the busiest day they’ve had, and it would’ve brought them a bad reputation if there were too many unsatisfied customers due to being understaffed. Chiaki was glad he could help.
“Here’s your Ranger Red Parfait!” Chiaki eagerly watches as his red parfait is placed in front of him. The dessert looked more appetizing now that he can finally have his own. It would be a lie to say he was not thinking about finally tasting it while he was serving them to the children earlier. The glass is tall and wide, containing a generous amount of whipped cream over the red velvet cake and cream cheese icing. It’s also decorated with walnuts, strawberries, blueberries and a chocolate wafer on top. It really makes one excited to just dip their spoon onto the dessert.
“Ah, I can’t wait to try it! Thank you!” Chiaki replies a little too enthusiastically, earning a small laugh from her. The cafe has already closed for the day and it’s just the two of them left. Chiaki decided to sit by the children’s area and he invited her to sit across him.
“You sure are as excited as those children earlier.” She comments, placing her arms on the table as she watches him.
“Well, I really am excited to try them out ever since I saw it on the flyer.” He explains in reply. He was looking forward to visiting the cafe again with Ryuseitai too but unfortunately, their schedules didn’t match up so he ended up going alone.
A small chuckle escaped her lips. “Yeah, I can see you practically drooling over the other parfaits you were serving earlier.”  And Chiaki’s eyes grew wide at her statement. Was he really that obvious?
“Just kidding~” She then says, giggling again at his reaction. Chiaki can feel his cheeks getting red in embarrassment but he tries to hide it with a loud laugh.
“You got me there.”
She watches expectantly as he finally takes a careful scoop of the parfait, making sure to get a part of all the elements so he can taste how well they would all combine. He places the spoonful on his mouth and as the wonderful flavours fill his taste buds, he notices the nameplate on her uniform, a defining gold plate with her name and the title “Manager” under it. She really does run the cafe, huh?
“Um… Is something the matter? Did it... not live up to your tastes?” She nervously asks. He was lost again in his thoughts so she must’ve interpreted his silence as dissatisfaction.
“Uh, no. It actually tastes amazing! I can see how well they all come together.” He quickly replies and she lets a breath she’s been holding. Ah, he made her worry again.
“It’s just that I didn’t realize you were the owner until a friend told me when we left last time.” He says sheepishly and she responds with a small “oh ” before laughing.
She leans slightly on the table. “Well, I didn’t realize you were an idol until our barista showed me one of your concerts. The children were all fawning over you earlier too! I’m surprised you were able to handle them.”
“Well, being in the job gives you more experience in learning how to calm them down.” Chiaki somehow feels a sense of pride as he speaks and he gives another of his confident laughs. She has a thoughtful look before nodding in understanding.
“I see. So I guess we’re even.” She grins and Chiaki takes another spoonful to his mouth before continuing.
“I hope I wasn’t rude to you in any way.”
“No, not at all! You were actually a big help today.”
As if remembering something important, she lets out a horrified gasp. “Oh god, I can’t believe I let an idol wait tables in my cafe! I’m gonna get in trouble with your managers, aren’t I?” Her hands are on her cheeks in panic as she spoke.
Chiaki quickly shakes his head at the question. “What? No! I already told you before but it’s totally fine! It’s not like we’re bound to just do whatever job our agency gives us.”
“Oh, well that’s a relief.” She breathes out, chuckling a bit at her own reaction.  If Chiaki was being honest, though, seeing her get flustered again like this, he can’t help but find her a little cute. He grins at the thought.
She excuses herself as Chiaki is finishing his parfait and disappears into the staff room. She comes back out with the dolphin plush from earlier and begins inspecting it for any dirt or tears. She had a small sewing kit with her as well just in case. Chiaki starts to think back to what happened earlier with the boy and wonders if the old plush holds some kind of significance to her, with how adamant she was on not letting the boy touch it.
“This actually holds great sentimental value. And you can’t find it anywhere anymore because the shop I bought it from closed down.” To his surprise, she answered so easily when he asked her about it.
It was from a field trip when she was young, she narrated. Her class went to an aquarium and in one of the animal shows they had, she was chosen to come up and play with the sea lion. The creature, however, got a little too playful and pulled the young girl into the water by her dress and was dragging her to the bottom of the pool.
“I thought I was gonna die, you know. I didn’t know how to swim and I was panicking so hard I took in a lot of water.” She ghosted a hand to her throat, as if remembering the sensation she felt when she was drowning. Chiaki listens intently as she continues.
“But then there’s this boy who was also chosen to come up on stage with me. He jumped in after I was pulled underwater and was pulling me upwards by the arm. I don’t remember much of what happened then but the aquarium staff were the ones who eventually rescued the both of us. That was one heck of a near-death experience, huh?” She then chuckles, all the heavy feelings from earlier forgotten.
He wonders then what happened after the incident. Was she still haunted by the experience of almost dying? What happened to the boy who saved her? All these questions and more were lying unsaid in his mind but he was hesitant to ask.
She lifts the dolphin from her lap. “This dolphin’s from that aquarium’s souvenir shop. I may not have remembered the boy’s face, but that boy, probably the same age as me, bravely saved my life and this right here is my constant reminder of that fact.” She fondly runs a hand onto the plush’s soft fur, her eyes giving off a soft twinkle which for some reason makes her entire face glow like the early morning sun. Chiaki almost got lost in them, until she breaks the silence.
“That’s why I don’t want this out of my sight, nor on somebody else’s hands.” She says sheepishly, as if it was a silly reaction. But Chiaki didn’t think of it as silly at all, in fact–
“It’s a precious memory of your first hero, huh?” Chiaki smiles at her, not showing any sign of ridicule. How could he laugh at something like that? He was glad that someone was able to become a hero for her and it wouldn’t be silly to cherish a memento of that time.
Her eyes widened for a moment at his reaction, surprised he hasn’t laughed it off like the others did, but then softens into a small smile as she looks down again on the plush.
“...Yeah.”
She has told him a story of her childhood, and not just any story too. It was a memory that she kept and treasured for so long. It might not have been a story she tells to just anyone, either. It was like she was sharing a part of her to Chiaki, a complete stranger she just met a few days ago, and for that Chiaki felt honored.
“Thanks for sharing all this to me.”
The two stayed for about an hour more talking, the conversation mostly led by Chiaki with his numerous stories about his unit and his high school days. After hearing a story as personal as hers, he couldn’t help but also share something he holds dear to his heart too: all the friends he made in Yumenosaki and most especially, Ryuseitai. She was eager to listen to each one, sharing a few more stories of her own when a similar experience happened to her too.
Night falls too soon, though, and she really had to close shop for the day. It would be another war again tomorrow so she needed the time to rest and unwind. The two part ways after helping her lock up, with her inviting him to come visit again
Chiaki finally arrives home, happy to have made a new friend and goes to the kitchen for a glass of water. He passes by his storage room, door ajar from when he rummaged some old stuff the night before. It’s in need of a little re-organizing, with all the boxes left open and some with its contents spilling out. He’s finished reading through the script this afternoon anyway so he decides to clean it up.
As he begins to take out the boxes from their shelves, an old paper bag tumbles off from the top shelf. Curious to know what’s inside, Chiaki takes out its contents and to his surprise it’s a dolphin plush, covered in dust and its pink color starting to fade away. Chiaki was racking his brain on where on earth he got this from when he saw the tag on the plush. An aquarium theme park, from a school trip back back in kindergarten., he now recalls. But did he actually buy a pink dolphin before?
Another interesting thing that was inside the bag was a small white handkerchief. It was decorated with sunflowers at the corners and Chiaki can already tell this wasn’t his. It was only after he unfolds it that he notices a name embroidered at the bottom.
The same name as the cafe owner.

Connections Review Part 3
Storm Maverick- Category 5
And we return! This will be the final part of the Connections Arc. I had initial plans for this to be 2 parts but sadly Maverick got too big and therefore he required his own part. This is by far the most divisive part of the Arc as everyone seems to be content with the time travel and harems, but as soon as Maverick ‘Motherfucker Hellspawn’ Storm got relevant it all went downhill for some. So, what do I think?
So, this is part is less ‘What is Maverick doing’ and more of what I think of Maverick. As you guys know, I am aware that Maverick is a lot older than people seem to recognize as he has his origins in Askthedespairkids. And in the context of that blog, Maverick is actually a pretty good character. You have to remember that the blog was saturated with OCs and a lot of them suffered from severe sueness or edgy syndrome. I will not make names and I will not say who made the worst OCs because that’s the easiest way to start an internet war, but the two big reasons I got bored of Askthedespairkids and quit reading is due to how poorly written a lot of these OCs were and they hogged a lot of the spotlight, and the canon characters ended up being regulated to the side-lines, which didn’t tickle my fancy at all. True, Maverick was very over the top and what he ultimately ended up doing to his former classmates in Class 75 is incredibly graphic and probably worse than some of the executions and murders canonically, but I would rather blame the general OPness of that blog. Now this is on the Mod’s terms Maverick can hopefully be hit with the nerf hammer a bit more so he isn’t as ridiculous as he was in Askthedespairkids. Furthermore, you can’t call Maverick a Villain Sue and not apply that to Junko Enoshima, because yeah, she is a Villain Sue, that’s why I don’t like her.
But things are different now. Maverick is standing on his own, against only a couple of other OCs and canon characters. Furthermore, the Mod’s writing skills have improved since the Askthedespairkids days so there’s a bit more pressure on Maverick. I think there are two issues I find with Maverick. The first is that I didn’t like him making a move during this arc. The arc was fine just focusing on time travel and the various harems and relationships of the characters, adding Storm just bloated the arc and made it much longer then needed, I feel like Maverick could have been revealed next arc and the next next arc would be the next arc we are currently getting into. This gives me serious Oncoming Storm vibes where an Arc is ridiculously long and a build up to a (hopefully) big payload. Now let me make this straight, this Arc is a million times better then Oncoming Storm, I don’t think any future Arc would be as bad as Oncoming Storm, as that was long and boring whereas the previous stuff was interesting, its just that adding Storm made the Arc very bloated and artificially extended the length of the arc making it tedious. Perhaps a forewarning to the Mod when they decide to include someone like Mikado and Junko into the story. The second issue with Maverick is…he’s basically a poor man’s Junko. At the moment I’m really struggling to find any meaningful differences between Maverick and Junko. With Juu being around we already have our big bad villain for the second Session and if I’m right, Session 3’s main villain is going to be Mikado and Session 4’s villain is Junko. I know Maverick is important to the backstories of Umeko and Kyoji, especially Kyoji, but aside from tying up those loose ends, what is the point of Maverick? Does he exist to give the Quantum Crew a practise run against Junko? And yes, his threat level is higher as he’s kidnapping an obscene amount of people and is able to block us Anons, but Maverick shouldn’t know we exist. I really, REALLLLY hope there’s a logical explanation for that because if Maverick is somehow able to sense the Anons and see how much of a threat we are, then the accusations of Maverick being a Villain Sue do hold water.
Overall, I will be more critical of Maverick now then I was back then because he enjoyed being next to poorly written characters but that safety net no longer exists and there’s too many glaring similarities between him and Junko. Now for his actions yeahhh…. I did warn you guys that Maverick is that special kind of evil but I don’t think it was until Nikei revealed about all his foster families committing suicide that it really hammered home. It’s basically vindication of what I said before. The stakes are a lot higher now because previously yes there was all the girls being kidnapped but it was just Tokyo and one demographic, but here lots of people all across Japan are vanishing and being brainwashed by Storm, so the pressure is on for the Quantum Crew to stop him. And some familiar names as well as Damian, Aiko’s pen pal and Hiroyuki, Kiroko’s younger brother have gone missing alongside Kanon. Kanon vanishing means I think Leon is going to be important next arc because we did promise Leon that Hajime & friends would help her and he’ll be willing to throw his lot in to save his cousin. And the pressure is even more on because Yuki’s been taken as well, having traded Mikado for Storm. This is going be big, especially for Sora as she’s been struggling with how much she cares for Yuki and this will be a real test to see where her allegiances lie. Especially as its unknown what happens if either Yoruko or Sora dies, because if Hajime dies, time rewinds and he uses a life but what if Yoruko and Sora get offed? They don’t have lifelines so what happens if Hajime resets, does Yoruko revert to her old self or does Sora get erased from existence as she isn’t supposed to be ‘born’ yet?
Kyoji also got some development as we see him bonding with Monaca and the newly reformed Kanade, and it’s a very ironic twist that the two characters who are often nicknamed as ‘Satan’ in the fandom are now more or less siblings. As good as a caretaker he is for them though, his recklessness and self-loathing issues are still there as it prevents him from seeing Miaya despite a meeting between them being sorely needed and thinking she won’t want to see him again even if that may not be the case, and wanting to deal with Storm ASAP despite legit concerns that it could be a trap. Thankfully Chisa and Chiaki were able to talk some sense into him and rein in some of his more destructive behaviour. Given how manipulative Storm is and we have not one but two characters who are willing to go off the handle, possibly three if Nikei jumps the gun again, its going to be a very intense arc coming up as not only do the Quantum Crew have to fight against Storm and his backers, but also keep some of the more hot-headed members of the team from being reckless. The new members of the Quantum Crew are pulling their weight though as Kazuichi offered insight into the tech that Storm could use, Chisa obviously helping to keep sanity in check and Ibuki had one of her lucid ideas and managed to suggest how Storm delivered all the VPN password codes to his victims in a way that isn’t unnoticeable which is just mailing them a vacation brochure. I’ll admit, this was really clever by the Mod as that went over my head when it was delivered, but I should know about Chekhov’s Gun, which is don’t include something if its not going to be relevant later. Lesson learnt and I need to be more alert to detail now.
And that concludes the Connections Arc as the QR Code was scanned and they saw the welcome message from Maverick and Kyoji cursing Storm’s name. And my ranking shall be a C-. It would be a solid C but the inclusion of Maverick bloating the arc out and the fact that now he’s not being propped up by terrible OCs means the writing flaws of the character are starting to become more apparent and his similarities with Junko makes me question if he is a necessary character in the story or not. I will withhold too much judgement until the next Arc concludes but I did enjoy the Arc until the Storm part so its not enough to drop into D territory so C- it is. Either way, I’ll be watching the next arc with great interest and hopefully my new method of cutting down on needless wavering is making this easier to read. See you once the Storm calms down! -Review Anon
//Once again, thank you for the reviews. And admittedly, yes, I do wish I’d held off on introducing Storm’s plans until the ongoing plot threads were resolved and everyone came home. I can see all this being the beginning of the current arc and it probably would’ve worked better. That’s definitely the biggest flaw I can see with the last arc, though it’s important for setting stuff up and my desire is not for preparations to drag out, but for us to get to what’s important.
//After the Oncoming Storm, I’m wary of writing any more long preparation arcs, especially when I’m stuck in a long depressive episode ^^;
//I’ve never claimed to be a perfect writer or even a good one, but I’ve tried to improve on my writing since my early days. I had very little idea of what I was doing back then and it really does show. I only ask that you all go into the next arc with an open mind and not let past experiences of bad writing color your opinions, which I’m sure you won’t.
//I won’t spoil anything, but this upcoming arc has what’s probably my hardest decision as a writer to date and I’ve decided to committed to it, even if it hurts to think about.
//I do hope you look forward to what comes next ^^

The Longest Library #6: The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up: A Magical Story by Marie Kondo
This is a series in which I attempt to read and review all (or most of) my library of 297 books.
Tumblr media
Rundown: Chiaki is a twenty something on her own, with a messy apartment that's been attached to a lifetime of failed relationships (although a lot of them seem like unrequited crushes she tried waaaay too hard for). The clutter and the drain it causes literally buries her own dreams and aspirations. Even if you don't intend to use KonMarie's method for things, it's a cute and concise way to see the impact it has when properly applied. Very wholesome, 5/5, would even give to my grandma.
Because of copyright and being respectful to the authors and artists, I'm going to try and keep pictures to a minimum, and do my best to describe things without them. Such is the hazards of reviewing a manga.
First off, before you even open the book, it's got this really nice matte satin finish on it. It's extremely pleasant. I had to just pause and say that for a second.
When I first picked this up in barnes and noble about a year ago, I didn't expect it to be so... I guess rich? There was no part of it that felt wasted or unnecessary. All of it felt good, and if it wasn't good, it was better. The art is pretty simplistic, almost all of it done in the same pen, and if you look close enough it all retains that human element. You can tell a hand did that. But it's still so consistent and, I suppose experienced, that it doesn't become distracting. The characters stay on model and don't look too weird, even when drawn tiny and comedically.
I like how the very first step is deciding that you want to tidy up. Even if the method described is much different than what everybody thinks it is, still coming at it with that same willingness and energy, resolute to do some real work, is necessary. It isn't as frantic and energy consuming as the heavy cleaning most people think of, but instead the method can be emotionally and mentally taxing. It requires that same decision to dedicate yourself to it.
Even though my house isn't as fine tuned as it would be had I used the konmarie method, I still make a point to do small tidying sessions as soon as I see there's a need for it. I come from a hoarder house and so do my partners, so there's an extra motivation to keep the space as far away from that as possible.
That being said, I recognize the main character's exhaustion. The startling mess that comes from such a professional seeming young woman just doesn't really register, she just kind of lives with it 'for the time being' (this is a phrase that pops up later).
As an aside, When she goes to answer the door, there's this curtain she pulls over to kind of hide the rest of the apartment behind her. I have no idea if it's a staple of Japanese apartments (in which case, what a neat idea! Nobody who's just at the door needs to know what my home looks like). If it's just her, deciding that she needs a curtain to hide her embarrassment, however... just damn.
So the reality of needing to tidy up sets in when the neighbor accidentally DOES see what her apartment is like. (He initially came to tell her to please get the garbage off her balcony because it's starting to stink... she kept putting it there, intending to bring it down in the morning, but then forgets). So a valiant? effort is made. But the roadblocks to starting on such a huge mess is apparent. Can't do garbage, there's too much on the balcony already. The sink is so backed up and she can't find the sponge. You kind of move from task to task and can't really find a place to start because you don't know HOW to start. And tackling something that huge in more manageable pieces isn't for everybody. Sometimes you can make messes faster than you can clean them. So it feels like treading water, like you're not getting anywhere. And that's usually where people give up. So she does.
Also, I find it hilarious that she found out about KonMarie while on a search for proof that there's people who are way messier than her.
Tumblr media
She was totally expecting a Hoarders type situation. Nope! It's all just you and this tiny fairy woman.
Tumblr media
So this being my first exposure to KonMarie, I was actually super invested when she asked this question. I appreciate this question so much. My (literal) garbage television of choice is Hoarders, and usually on that show, if they set goals, it's extremely short term. Mostly because they have only so much time that the workers can be there. Sometimes it's even so small as 'clear this one hallway so that my husband doesn't fall and break his leg and potentially die in his own home'. Meanwhile KonMarie is over here like 'what's your life going to look like after your place is clean'? Which is a very good question to ask, especially if you don't want someone to fall back into old habits. Cleaning is basically making room for yourself and your life, instead of just your stuff.
Tumblr media
So, living 'for the time being'. I see this way of living as a form of energy preservation. You don't make the effort to do the 'right' thing, which would be expending the small effort to clear your coffee table so you can have a nice place to eat breakfast tomorrow. That's okay, it's just temporary, right? But then the next day, you go to have breakfast. You see the messy table and immediately deflate. You need to eat standing now because you don't have the time to clear the table AND make breakfast. You don't feel as great as you could be, but that's okay, right?  The trend unfortunately continues. It also spreads to other areas of your life. Unfortunately, by preserving energy by not doing the small tasks, the small tasks become bigger ones. That you no longer have the energy for. Especially now that you're having to SPEND energy working around those large tasks. Doing the small thing in the first place would mean you would RECEIVE energy as a result. Clearing the table the night before means a nice, calm peaceful breakfast, and you get to the rest of your day feeling energized now that you've had that bit of quiet to yourself. If you find yourself avoiding tasks, you might need to do something specifically to restore yourself. That's what self care is about in the context of maintaining your space.
“Nine out of ten items demoted to loungewear...are never worn!”
So, I have this talent for knowing where everything is in the house at all times and remembering what I have (a Forbidden Skill that comes from living with hoarders and also a shitty birthgiver who would arbitrarily throw stuff away). And I know exactly which pieces of clothing she's talking about. The huge pair of pj pants that I barely use unless it's abnormally cold. The various camisole tops with the missing underwire that I don't wear because the straps are synthetic and melted at the ends so it makes this unfortunate stabby bit. Yeah. I should get rid of those. Tshirts and shorts are better off as loungewear because that's what I use them for apart from exercising.
"Besides, why would you wear joyless clothes inside when you would never wear them outside? Your time at home should be special too."
This is something I've come to appreciate during quarantine. I feel TONS better when I'm wearing something nice, even inside. I get more work done and I feel more professional when I actually 'get dressed' instead of trying to work in my nightgown. Even putting on an apron makes housework feel more purposeful. (I'm going to take this to the next level and eventually make my own apron)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what I mean by it becoming draining over time. Even a good day is hampered by coming home to a cluttered area. Even having one space to sit that looks nice helps. (for context, Chiaki only just tidied her clothes, but nothing else yet, so she had an amazing day, feeling great in clothes that made her feel great, and then came home to this.)
"Books that haven't been moved in a while are dormant, so it's hard to judge whether to keep or discard them."
I appreciate this humanizing element of objects. I feel like a lot of us are taught early on to stop caring so much about our belongings, especially when they're no longer age appropriate, and we're pressured by peers and parents to 'let go'. When I give any object in my home a character or spirit, I find I take much better care of it. It's also partially the basis of my teddy bear medical project (the stuffed animal is essentially an emotional mirror, and taking care of the bear helps it echo back a need to care for yourself). Also interesting, to quote from wikipedia: "Kondo says that her method is partly inspired by the Shinto religion. Cleaning and organizing things properly can be a spiritual practice in Shintoism, which is concerned with the energy or divine spirit of things (kami) and the right way to live (kannagara)"
Also on the subject of books, I readily agree that #thelongestlibrary is a way for me to avoid immediately throwing away books. But now that I can make regular content out of them, they all have a purpose now, don't they?
Tumblr media
This bastard. No matter how many times I purge my writing stash, one of these always shows up. Why is it sticky??????
"That's right. Things that are kept 'just because' are stored 'just because', and accumulate 'just because'."
This is true. However, I'm in a weird place because of my skills and profession. Can KonMarie please come validate my decision to keep crafting supplies and surplus packaging???
"Instead of buying storage goods to make do, wait until you've completely finished and look for ones you really like" "You mean don't buy things 'Just because!' "
I don't know how many times I've seen a messy house with a stack of brand new storage bins, never used, or storage bins overstuffed and sometimes broken. Something I forgot to mention that is a huge part of the KonMarie method, is organizing by category, and not by room. You get ALL of one object in the house, and put it in a pile in the middle of the floor, so you can see just how much you have (clothes, books, cosmetics, etc.) If you clean by room, you may have gotten all the clothes in the bedroom put away nicely, but they there's still dirty laundry, and also the workout clothes in the living room, and some in the bathroom, and it all doesn't fit and has to go in a storage container or gets stuffed in a weird place and you never see it again! So don't get storage. If it doesn't fit in your house, that means it likely doesn't fit in your current life. And either the object has to go, or your life needs to change.
"Wait, it's not the things I'm discarding, but the things I'm keeping that are in this room!"
This is a principle that I think didn't really occur to me, or a lot of people. Getting rid of excess stuff is important, yes, but making sure what you're keeping is meaningful is equally and sometimes even more important. It's something that could be applied to all areas of your life.
"Your home is linked to your body. If it isn't comfortable to live in, you'll feel exhausted, just like I did."
KonMarie puts so much love into her method. If you've never seen her show, I highly recommend it. It isn't like Hoarders at all. It's like the difference between American Gordon Ramsey and The Great British Bakeoff. Even if the families depicted are a little tense, it's clear they still love each other deeply and just need to be guided into making their home a place where that love can happen unimpeded.
If you've never gotten into KonMarie, I'd say this is a stellar first exposure. I love the hell out of this tiny, thoughtful woman.
Have a couple of bonus faces because the artist is a gem.

Some Danganronpa babes confessing to their long-time crushes
Holy shit, I've been very inactive! I'm super-duper sorry! I've been very, very busy, and now that summer is finally here I'll be more active, yay! So, as an apology, I'm going to post my second scenario, and I hope that at least one person actually reads through it! Hopefully, the Danganronpa community isn't dead yet!
Makoto Naegi-
♣Although he had planned for this for weeks, he was still anxiety-filled.
♣This could go two ways, assuming his luck didn't play into it as well. A simple yes or no, it wouldn't hurt him too much, right?
♣Wrong. He wasn't sure what he'd do if you said no, nor if you said yes.
♣He wanted to do it the classic way- confessing to you after school behind a cherry-tree. It had worked for all of those anime characters, why not him?
♣He was observing the tree when you arrived, so his back was to you. He turned around-
♣He tripped, abort mission
♣After a bit of laughing, you helped him back up, and asked him why he wanted to talk, although you thought you knew already.
♣After a bit of stuttering, he managed to get it out.
♣”Y/N, you've been one of my best friends for a long time. No matter what my luck manages to do, you're always there with me to help me up, quite literally! I've liked you for such a long time, and I was wondering if you'd like to go out?” He said, in a very fast pace. You could barely understand him.
♣Whether or not you said yes was up to you, but he hoped that his luck would finally work it's magic.
Byakuya Togami-
♕Honestly, he wasn't too concerned. He figured that his money could help buy you over, since his wealth was clearly one of his best attributes.
♕But, he was too aloof to just ask you in person. And, since he clearly couldn't write his feelings for himself, he asked for help.
♕Specifically, he asked Naegi for help, which in retrospect wasn't the best choice for him.
♕After successfully obtaining the note from Naegi, he sealed it up and signed his name on it.
♕The next day at school, just before class started, he slipped it into your locker, which was convieniently close to his.
♕During class, he was a bit quieter than usual, not bothering to shoo Touko, as his mind was completely focused on you, and how you'd respond.
♕Of course, he hoped you would accept, but he did also realize that he could easily replace you if you said no, though it would pain him a bit.
♕After class was over, you went to your locker to grab your books. A letter fell out.
♕You opened it, and read it through.
♕It read- ‘Dear Y/N. My heart has found its way to you with all my love. I want you and no one else because you mean everything to me. I think we should try and make this work. I hope you know you're the one and only one that I want. You're the perfect friend, and I hope we can and will grow to be more. I could never ask for better than what we already have. I hope you're feeling the same way because my heart is set on you and only you.’
♕You already knew it wasn't in his own words, but you were touched nonetheless. It took you awhile to think about it, but you soon had your answer.
Kyouko Kirigiri-
♢You two had been close for a while, and you had managed to be one of the few lucky people to get to know her.
♢She adored everything about you for quite a while, though it never showed. ♢Since she had recently found out that you both enjoyed the same book series, she figured she could confess through that. ♢You were on the second book, almost done and ready to go onto the third. ♢She had checked it out before you, though, and paid the librarian for the damages she would cause, although small.
♢She flipped through the pages until she found the last one, in which the main character confessed to the love-interest. She underlined the words the character had said, and opened to an empty page which was right after the end. She grabbed a purple ballpoint pen. ♢’Y/N, I’d greatly enjoy it if the two of us could be as close as protagonists in this book. I'm hoping you already know who I am, so you can come and speak with me.’ ♢She closed the book and went back to return it. ♢A few days later, you went to go check out that exact book, and in a week you managed to finish it.
♢However, what caught your attention was the bold underline on the confession. You flipped to the last page and read the note, which was addressed to you, surprisingly.
♢Knowing fully well who it was, you decided to go confront it about her, your answer completely clear to you now.
Hajime Hinata-
☞He was a bit afraid to tell you how he felt. What if you didn't like him back because he was too plain? What if he messed up? ☞So, he asked Chiaki to help him, and she delivered, like any good friend would. ☞After a while of her rambling about a hard dating sim she had heard about, she tried giving him advice. ☞”Well, in dating sims they usually ask them out on a date to their favorite place. Do you know Y/N’s favorite place?”
☞”Their house?” He asked. As if that was a good place to go on a first date. ☞”No, like a restaurant or something.” Chiaki sighed, already getting too tired to deal with this love-retarded boy. ☞”I mean, they like to go to that one park with all the cherry blossom trees..” He thought. ☞After talking to Chiaki for a while, he agreed on asking you out to said park. ☞So, after school one day, he pulled you aside. You looked confused. Your best friend, Mahiru, was waiting for you, since you always walked home together. ☞”Hey, Y/N, I like you a lot, and I was wondering if you'd like to go to the park with me tomorrow?” He silently prayed you said yes. ☞Though it was short, your heart warmed a bit after hearing the confession. You had to give him your decision quick, or Mahiru would get angry, so you thought for a second and spoke.
Nagito Komaeda-
♧He knew you'd say no, it's just that some kids from his class had been pressuring him into telling you. ♧He liked you a lot, and hoped you could be more, but he knew it wouldn't happen because who would love trash like him? ♧Nekomaru had given him a pep talk before he went to tell you, hilariously enough. It mainly consisted of him making Komaeda yell his (and your) name. It embarrassed him even further, his face already tinted red. ♧So, after class one day, he tapped your shoulder in an attempt to get your attention. ♧However, his luck had decided to strike, and once you turned around someone pushed you into his chest, officially making the both of you red faced.
♧He pulled back quickly, and apologized profusely. ♧”Bro, it's okay, it wasn't your fault anyways.” You giggled.
♧”Anyways, there's something I'd like to tell you.” he began, nervously fiddling with his thumbs.
♧”Y/N, I've found myself liking you with a passion that friends shouldn’t have. I know you'll say no, since it's impossible for someone to like trash, but I'd like to ask if you want to go out?” ♧You didn't hesitate to respond, since you've already been thinking about how you'd respond to something like this, and because your second class was about to start. Hopefully you don't put this boy into despair.
Chiaki Nanami-
(Some clarification in this- You're the ultimate game designer in Chiaki’s scenarios) 🎮Sure, Chiaki was good at video games. But there's one genre that's hard for her.
🎮Dating sims. And, because of this, she wasn't too sure about how well she’d be able to confess.
🎮Taking it upon herself to study a bit more, she downloaded a dating sim labeled as ‘Mildly easy’.
🎮After a day or two of attempting to beat it, she stumbled upon a character that eerily resembled you. It's name was (Your name but with some letters swapped). She decided that she had to go that route, since she figured it would help her confess.
🎮It took her about fourteen hours to finish, but the confession at the end made it all worthwhile..
🎮It read, ‘(Your name but with some letters swapped), Ever since I met you I've been endeared to you. From your looks to your personality, I like it all. You're all that I want, and I hope you feel that way too?’ 🎮And, from the way the character responded, Chiaki supposed that the exact same confession should work for you.
🎮So, Chiaki decided to tell you immediately at school tomorrow.
🎮You were walking through the halls until Chiaki walked up to you, looking determined as ever. 🎮She recited the confession, using your name instead of the character’s, and your response was a short, simple giggle. 🎮”Nanami, did you find my dating sim? I knew you'd play it someday!” You smiled, although the girl in front of you was very, very confused. 🎮After having a short laugh, you gave Chiaki your answer, either letting her down immensely or making her day even better.
Shuichi Saihara-
🔎He may or may not have cried while thinking about how you'd respond.
🔎He was obviously too shy to tell you in person, even after Kaede’s inspiring pep-talk. 🔎So, he wrote a letter that conveyed all of his emotions, though it might be a bit long.
🔎It read, ‘Dear Y/N. Every word you confide in me, every wonderful and terrible moment you share with me, melts me inside.
You let yourself be vulnerable with me and trust me beyond my comprehension. I never imagined I would truly find another who I would want to spend so much time with, who could truly touch my life the way you have, even without trying. I look forward to many more special moments together. When I see you, I see my future. This is not just talk. It truly comes from the heart. I am consumed by the desire to be with you, to talk to you and to feel you near me. I want to hold you, talk to you, laugh with you, cry with you. I want to play, walk, dance and just be one with you. I think you could become my everything. I know I want to be everything to you. I love you, Y/N L/N.’ And he signed it at the bottom. 🔎But, last second, he chickened out, leading to Kokichi stealing the letter, reading it and laughing. And Shuichi’s ego deflated even more, if possible. 🔎Kokichi ran up to your locker and put it in for the other boy. 🔎Y’see, Kokichi was a hardcore shipper of you two, and wanted to help- 🔎And so, after class you opened your locker and read it. It made your heartbeat pick up its pace, and your face turn red. 🔎You confronted Shuichi immediately. 🔎If you say yes, he’ll probably cry. If you say no, he’ll probably cry AND become depressed. Good luck. Kokichi Ouma- ♖He isn’t nervous at all. He was SURE you'd like him back. ♖But that's a lie, of course. He was scared. There's a small chance of you liking an asshole like him, so he only had a small amount of certainty. ♖He's not necessarily shy, so he decided to do it in person, since that's the most head-on way to do it. ♖So, like most of the others, he chose to tell you after class. ♖You were walking out of class when you were caught off-guard by him jumping on you. ♖And you fell over, as a result, and you ended up in a weird position in which he was straddling you, and his hands were on your stomach. ♖At this point, there's absolutely NO going back. So, in a state of rushed panic, he suddenly yells out- ♖”Y/N, I LIKE YOU A LOT” ♖And now you're both blushing a deep red. ♖Before you could answer, he gets up and runs away, which surprised you immensely. ♖Now you need to go find a flustered boy and tell him if you like him or not. Good luck with that, and don't die. Kaede Akamatsu- ♬She was DETERMINED. ♬Nothing could stop her now. She was literally on her way to your house right now to go and confess to you. ♬At 2 AM. ♬On a Sunday. ♬But she didn't even care. True love was worth it, right? ♬So, when she burst through your window, effectively breaking the glass and ripping the curtains, you were surprised, to say the least. ♬”Kaede what the FUCK are you doing in my house at 2 AM?” ♬”Y/N I’M HERE TO PROCLAIM MY LOVE FOR YOU” ♬On comes a long, and passion-filled confession. It was so early that you weren't thinking when you responded. You either made a decision that would literally keep you bound to her for life, or make her day horrible and make her gross sob to Shuichi. It all depends on how your dreary form at 2 AM responded.

pride month, day thirteen - graveyard shift
He should be thankful he even has a job. Even if it is a job that tries to pay him below minimum wage, that changes his shifts at random, that lets his coworker smoke pot in the bathroom but takes issue with him needing more than three minutes to use the bathroom. Even if that job is 930pm-430am.
...yeah, no, he can’t really be thankful for that. He can’t even say that he has a slow shift because what twenty-four hour McDonald’s by a college campus is ever slow?
It’s one-thirty now, god help him. He wishes he could just bash his head into counter. But they’d probably wind up suing him for destruction of property, after they made him clean up his own blood.
Kind of a violent thought there, Hajime.
He recognizes the walk pattern before he hears Nagito’s “Oh hi, babe,” and he’s somehow groaning and smiling all at the same time.
“Please. Not the Tommy Wiseau thing. Not at work.” Nagito smiles at him and leans over, kissing him on the cheek before he can push him away. Not that keeping him at bay ever has or ever would stop him, but his supervisor is watching a little too closely and he clears his throat. “I can take your order whenever you’re ready!”
“Yeah,” he mimics back, overly cheerful, “I’ll have a uh...” he blinks, like he doesn’t know the menu or something, voice trailing off. It’s entirely possible he doesn’t actually know what’s on the menu, but it’s just as likely he’s holding it until Hajime’s manager finds something better to do. “I’ll just have a soda, and whatever she -” he turns around, but Chiaki’s not behind him.
Hm. He thought something was off. Nagito runs a hand through his hair, tangling it further. His eyes get weird whenever he does this, sorta spiraling like water running down a drain. As long as he’s not being hovered over Hajime can reach out, touch his arm. “Are you okay?”
“Not really,” he mumbles. “Might’ve said said some real shit to a professor. Kinda surprised he didn’t call the cops, but don’t worry about me. Worry about Chiaki.”
“Where is she?” Nagito leans around the wall separating the counter from the tables and his shoulders sag.
He looks way too thin. Hajime punches in the number of food for him, even if they just take it out of his check. The worst they can do is fire him, and at this point he doesn’t really care. Maybe he kinda even wants to be fired, so he doesn’t have to deal with the guilt that comes with not being useful enough and -
Woah. Calm down. Nagito’s fingers are cold on his forehead. He look perturbed. He’s not usually the most stable person in the relationship. “What happened?” he asks, hoping Nagito won’t answer with a question of his own.
“Computer science professor,” he says. “She gets bored in that class and dicks around with other programs, but he can’t catch her not paying attention because she always gives the right answers. So today he tells her she’s just one step away from being artificial intelligence.”
Oh, that. Yeah, that makes him see red a little. He can understand why it’d piss the both of them off. “Not, by any chance, the same professor who -” he shifts weight from foot to foot, not wanting to say the words out loud. He settles with, “Harassed Mikan and Chihiro, is it?”
He knows from the way Nagito’s fingers tighten in his jacket sleeves what the answer to that question is. “How did you know?” More of a flat assertion than a question. “She’s only bored in that class because they wouldn’t let her test out of it. She and Chihiro both could run circles around that fucking -”
“Excuse me, sir, there are children in here,” his manager says.
“What children?” Hajime asks, knowing full well that it doesn’t really matter and he shouldn’t backtalk his boss. But the guy’s pointing at what is... Chihiro. Talk about imperfect timing. They look drained.
“I’m eighteen,” Chihiro says. The manager rolls his eyes and heads off to the back.
“I’m, uh.” Oh god, what do you say to someone you were literally just talking about? It wasn’t negative, but should he still apologize? He probably should. Yeah, he’ll just do that. “Sorry you heard that.”
They shrug. “He’s not wrong. I’ll be surprised if Mikan even comes back to class.”
Nagito leans with his hip against the counter, arms across his chest. “She will. She has to - she needs it for her degree.”
“Uhm...She could probably take it at a community college and transfer the credits in,” Chihiro says, tapping their lip. “I don’t really know what you have to do in order to get that done, though.”
“Do you know anyone that does?” Hajime asks, and then kind of regrets it. It’s a stupid question, of course they do. He shakes his head at himself, and says “Anyway, what are you guys doing here? It’s almost two A.M.”
“The professor changed the date of a group project.”
He sighs. “I’m not gonna take the hopeful guess of ‘He pushed it back a week.’”
“It’s due tomorrow,” Nagito answers.
“Well...today, technically.” Chihiro corrects. “By ten A.M. We just finished, so I’m just grabbing some food before I go see if anyone wants any help.”
“Are you sure you don’t wanna just go back to your dorm and get some sleep?” Hajime asks. “You look beat.”
“Uh...No. Not right now. I wouldn’t be able to sleep, anyway.” They pull a grimace he does not want to ask about. “Besides, I like to help people out! Uhm... And I’m kind of concerned about Mikan, so I wanna go see how she’s doing.” They look back to Nagito. “Uh, after you?”
“No, no, it’s fine. You go first. I’m still trying to figure out what to get Chiaki.” But he’s not, really. They come in a lot when Hajime is on shift, and they always get the same thing: Happy Meal if Nagito’s not eating, as many chicken nuggets as Teruteru can make if he is.
Teruteru’s not on tonight, the lucky bastard, but Nagito’s still eating whether he wants to or not.
He steps up behind Chihiro and hands Hajime a wad of cash before Chihiro can pay for themself. They look taken aback, and he tries to smile. “Hey, you’re gonna be basically teaching this class. So you should get something out of it.” They look close to tears as they leave with their order, but they don’t refute it, running out and back to campus before it gets much later.
“You’re eating too, you know,” Hajime says. Nagito starts to protest and Hajime cuts him off with a sharp poke to the ribs. “You eat or no Smash and Kanye for you. No go sit and keep our girlfriend company while I fuck up these chicken nuggets.”
“Aw, how despairing,” he says grabbing some cups. Hajime only shakes his head at him, but he’s not far enough out of reach to miss his weekly running joke entrance to Chiaki, “I hear Kanye West likes -”
She shouts “NO!” before he can finish the rest, but it’s not without laughter.

8, 9, 10, 20, 31, 41, 45, 60! (Is that too much? I'll be honest, I want all the questions on that list answered ;-;)
Tumblr media
Ahhh, that’s not too much at all!! I’m flattered that you’d like to hear what I have to say ♡ I would like to answer all of them for you, but for the sake of not clogging up everyone’s dash, I’ll answer just the ones you’ve listed & the ones from lovely anon under the cut! If I get more asks, I’ll answer those, too, but for now, I’ll just keep it to the numbers since a hundred might be too much to scroll through, aha!
Here we go for the Danganronpa ask meme, under the cut!! Sorry my answers are kind of long; I elaborated quite a bit. Maybe too much.Expect discourse & explicit DR1, SDR2, NDRV3 & DR3 Anime spoilers!
2. Favourite Protagonist?
Does Kaede count? Okay, I figured not... If not Kaede, then for sure Hajime Hinata. He has such spunk, and he’s such a relatable character for protagonist without being flat in the least. He also ends up representing so much more than just the force facing against the killing game and is more than the Ultimate Hope, too. He has real concerns and gets discouraged as a normal person would, which is what leads him to go for the Kamukura Project. He’s the most compelling, by far.
8. Least favourite character?
I’m not sure if I have an exact least favorite character. I’d probably go with Hifumi or Leon. I’m not as big of a fan of the characters from Danganronpa 1. I also don’t love Maki much, at least if we’re talking canonically. Otherwise, I feel more apathetic toward her, as I do with Hifumi & Leon.
9. Least favourite class trial?
This is hard... I’m actually pretty easily creeped out/am rather sensitive, so many of the pictures/illustrations in the trials make me feel uncomfortable. I might have to say Super Danganronpa 2, Trial 3, simply for that reason. The image of Mikan standing on that stepladder with a paper bag over her head always makes me feel so creeped out.
10. What would be your Ultimate Title?
I’m not good at anything enough to be an Ultimate, of course, but... Probably Ultimate Fan or something like that. That sounds pretty dumb, but I’m honestly a hugely supportive fan of all the content creators I follow: I send in asks often and always write in the tags, whether it’s art, fanfiction, edits–you name it. When I buy merch, I dm the artist to thank them and take pictures of the merch and post it on tumblr with my raves about how much I love it. Although I haven’t bought that much merch, as of now.I’m also just a generally incredibly supportive person whether online or in real life, so if you tell me about one of your endeavors, I’m sure to support you, ask you about it, and encourage you to update me on it. I thoroughly appreciate people fully and tend to overlook flaws and such. Otherwise, perhaps I’d be the Ultimate Chorister or something like that.
20. Who do you think is an overrated character?
Kaito Momota. Don’t get me wrong, I love him, but I also loathe some of his actions. When he refuses to believe that the identity of the killer could possibly have been Gonta in Trial 4, I was incensed. Of course, I didn’t think Gonta could really have done it either initially, but because this is a killing game, there will always be extraordinary circumstances, and there’s little you can rely on, as even you yourself are prone to acting in abnormal ways for some reason or other. That’s just an undeniable truth and logic. And the way he wouldn’t talk to Shuichi after that trial was so childish and immature. Shuichi was revealing the truth; Kaito was trying to help him get over the fear of revealing the truth, but then in trial 4 he refuses to believe Shuichi and then won’t even look him in the eye afterward. Like, man up, Kaito. This is not Shuichi’s fault. He’s just the person who delivers the news, not the person who made them. It’s probably his canon developments that make me feel that people think of them too highly.
31. Is there a character you think who shouldn’t have survived but did?
41. Person you’ve never expected to become a culprit but they became? (Doesn’t include Chiaki)
Kaede Akamatsu. I know, I’m big dumb, but it wasn’t just her protagonist status that warded me off–it was her tenacity and belief in protecting everyone that I thought would never allow her to kill someone, rather than that being the enabler of murder. And, yes, I know she didn’t actually kill Rantaro in the end. But she was named culprit and other than her, I’m not sure who I’d be surprised at.
45. Unpopular opinion?
I don’t really like KaiMaki that much. Maki’s entire development arc is based on her love for Kaito and him helping her out of being closed off to everyone. I understand needing some extra help, but I resent that she needed help from a man and that she had to fall in love with the said man. I don’t think her arc could even be representative of growth, as she ended up falling back on her assassin tactics to try and resolve the situation herself in trying to save Kaito, which only further escalated the situation. I prefer Harumatsu by far over KaiMaki. Kaede is someone I could see Maki in a healthy relationship with, and someone who can guide her to a better answer for situations or problems. She’s also just as (if not more!) supportive as Kaito and has similarly positive energy without having to be a big idiot or a big strong Manly Man™.
Also, to reiterate from earlier, Kaito is a man baby. I know he’s still a high schooler and, of course, human, which explains a lot of his actions, but I also just find that part of him so difficult to condone–how contradictory he is between supporting Shuichi telling the truth to going to not being able to accept the truth and actively resisting it, and then ignoring Shuichi like a big baby. I would’ve thought of him as someone who confronts the other party, not someone who just has a cold war with the other party like that. Again, perhaps it’s just that canon was written terribly. I quite like Oumota, even though I’m not a huge fan of Kaito himself.
60. Saddest moment?
When Kokichi said, “H-How could a game...that you’re forced to play...be fun....? I had to think this game was fun to survive... I had to lie to myself!” My heart shattered into a million little pieces right then and there, and I cried. I usually don’t cry from media–games, stories, movies, books–but I cried then. Another notable moment was in the Danganronpa 3 anime when Chiaki was trying to escape but died at the end. That was so painful to watch; I think I cried then, too.
69. Choose one character which you would take with you on a trip.
Kokichi Ouma! At least, that’s my instinct. I’m sure he’d be so much fun to go on a trip with–never a boring moment with him around. I’d probably get pretty tired, though, because he’d want to go out to a ton of places and drag me around, and he’d probably also make me buy him a lot of stuff. So if not Kokichi, then maybe Nagito. He’d appreciate the travels a lot, make for an interesting conversation partner, and be considerate about managing time, energy, and money.
70. Character you would have a sleepover with?
Kaede Akamatsu! Maybe Tenko Chabashira? You thought I was going to say Kokichi again, weren’t you? With him around, it wouldn’t even be a sleepover, so... But with Kaede or Tenko, we could probably do some fun and relaxing activities and have some compelling conversations before we go to sleep.
100. Opinion on all the Protagonists!
I already went over Hajime in the first question so... Of course, Naegi is a cute cinnamon roll, but apart from that, his character doesn’t hold much appeal for me. I did kind of like him as I was watching the anime, but I wasn’t super attached to him or anything. And, as I stated before, Shuichi feels like a  pretty flat character to me. He’s just... a normal guy who helps out with his uncle’s little detective agency. All three of the protagonists are technically “normal,” even though Shuichi’s supposed to be the Ultimate Detective. The way he describes his uncle’s detective agency makes me think it’s just this rundown little office in some back alley that solves missing pet and adultery cases, so his detective thing is like a hobby. Apart from Hajime, who literally gets talent implanted in him, Makoto’s the only one with a talent–luck, which is very sporadic and works arbitrarily. So they’re all pretty much just your average, run-of-the-mill guys, who don’t even want to be the protagonist of the killing game and take their position rather reluctantly and passively. They have their protagonist statuses thrust upon them.
Now, as for Kaede... She not only actually has an ultimate talent as the Ultimate Pianist and makes references to it by naming piano pieces at times and describing them, but she also takes up the role of the protagonist actively by bringing together a group of high schoolers who are all strangers, attempting a dangerous road of death and despair in trying to escape and takes action toward trying to end this game. She’s basically the first and only protagonist to make a plan toward outing the mastermind before the last trial–in fact, she does so before even the first one has occurred! She makes effort to prevent any killings, not just investigate and deal with them after they’ve already happened. I have much love for her, as you might be able to tell.

I just finished NDRV3 last night (a bit late I know) so bear with me because I have a theory that’s probably already been done to death but -
So everything Tsumugi said was a lie. Well, nearly everything. She (and Team DGR) did implant new memories into the 15 characters, and they possibly weren’t ultimates. They also weren’t heading into space, there was potentially no meteors, that entire backstory is a lie. In fact, everything from the Flashback Lights we can rule as a lie, unless cross referenced with something else (that’s not Tsumugi’s own testimony, I’ll get to her in a bit). That’s pretty much the entire game chucked out.
Except...
a. Prologue:
Kaede refers to herself as Kaede Akamatsu. Shuichi, likewise, refers to himself as Shuichi Saihara.
Obviously, given what we’re told by the game about Rantaro, he’s the only one who seems to know what’s going on, that it’s a Killing Game. An interesting point is that he asks ‘who is behind all this’, either suggesting that the 52nd game was drastically different, or that his Killing Game was under much different circumstances than we’ve been led to believe.
The personalities aren’t all that drastically different. Miu is still foul mouthed, for example.
Kaede trues several times to ask the Monokubs something, ‘If you guys are the Monokubs, then-‘, presumably asking where Monokuma is. Her sprite while she says this is her shocked one, with sweat on her face and mouth slightly open. It’s not really the face of someone who voluntarily joined up. Neither is how her and Shuichi claim to have gotten there, before the first Flashback Light - being thrown into a car by weird men.
This is followed up by the Monokubs changing the topic to Ultimate Talents, which Kaede responds that she has a skill she has a skill she devotes herself to, but that she wouldn’t call it an Ultimate Talent. This is said while her sprite is in the ‘crossing arms and looking down’ pose, looking rather crestfallen or concerned. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I’m going to say that this interaction implies that Ultimate Talents exist in this world.
Monotaro gives the game away by saying ‘See, according to the backstory, there’s this Ultimate Hunt goin’ on.’ I’m half tempted to ignore everything the Monokubs and Monokuma say, considering I’m not sure how much of it is regular Danganronpa 4th wall breaking and how much is meant to be hints at Tsumugi’s claims at the end. He does say something interesting, claiming that ‘The first thing we need you guys to do is remember your true selves’. Monophanie backs this up by saying ‘need to reclaim your sealed talents’. Both of these could be for the fictional audience’s benefit, if we take what Tsumugi says at face value.
Kaede’s reaction to Monokid saying there’s going to be a killing game is a shocked sprite, and, in her thoughts ‘K-Killing Game...?’. Again, not really the actions of someone who signed up for a Killing Game willing.
This is everything usable in the prologue, as far as I’m aware.
b. Chapter Six Trial
There’s no reason for there to be so many discrepancies between the characters’ memories and the canon events of the first two games. Tsumugi is portrayed as some uber fan, why would she settle for less than perfect? The justification that Tsumugi gives is flimsy at best.
Tsumugi, as Makoto Naegi, says ‘If what I said is the truth, then Hope’s Peak Acaemy was...’ when Shuichi brings up the Cospox. Notice the ‘If’.
The places seen when Tsumugi as Chiaki claims that everyone is a huge DanganRonpa fan are - Japan, Australia, England, America and one other place I can’t identify.
When it’s revealed that it’s the 53rd season, the white V changes to a pink 5. Pink is used in DanganRonpa to symbolise lies (and blood, but it’s the wrong shade of pink for that)
What’s the in game justification for the NDRV3 cast not having any memories of the other games? Or Tsumugi not cosplaying as characters from the other games? (Other than the obvious real world justification that those games don’t exist)
I find it odd that Tsumugi as various characters keeps saying ‘DanganRonpa inspired’.
Gonna point out that they made a kid into a robot. Just gonna throw that out there. This has nothing to do with it I just think it’s fucked up that within a matter of second they took a normal teenager and made him into a walking talking surveillance robot.
Shuichi’s supposed audition video. The Shuichi in this claims that he’s a huge fan of DanganRonpa and has always wanted to be in one. Shuichi in chapter one does not recognise Rantaro, a previous contestant, or the Monokubs. He always reacts with fear and shock in the prologue, contrary to how he acts in the audition video.
Right after the wardrobe change. The change here is that there’s an extra bit after Kaede says ‘K-Killing Game?’, where Shuichi says ‘You mean... we were selected!?’ With the happiest expression on his face. This is not shown in the prologue, obviously. I’m doubting that this actually happened, and that it’s not just another trick by Tsumugi to bring them further into despair.
‘Well, if you’re going to call fiction a lie... Then yes’ this line stands out to me for reasons I can’t explain right now.
Kaede’s audition tape. She says she has no faith in humanity, and yet in the prologue worries over Shuichi and acts in ways one who has no faith in humanity wouldn’t really act.
Kaito’s audition tape. Yeah, no, guy didn’t come off like that at all. I think you get the drill.
c. Tsumugi
Cospox. This is what she uses to justify how she can cosplay as Junko Enoshima while the everyone still thinks she’s real, by claiming that Junko (and the cast of DR and SDR2) are fictional in the world of NDRV3. Problem: She can’t cosplay as Kaede, someone she herself claims to see as fictional. This could mean either that the cospox itself is a lie, or that Kaede isn’t ‘fictional’.
She never claims her own talent was imparted onto her with the Flashback Lights
Interestingly enough, when giving her certain gifts (the prop carrying case is one) her eyes with swirl, like she’s under the effects of Despair. This also happens during the trial, and a few other times during her FTEs. AS far as I’m aware, she’s the only character in NDRV3 who does this.
In her third FTE, she says ‘This is the ‘Cosplay is Fun’ episode’.
The ‘cosplaycat criminal’ line that gets Shuichi thinking that Junko Enoshima and Hope’s Peak is actually real.
Tsumugi says that she’s been working for 53 seasons on the show. Assuming you have a murder once a week like we see in all three DanganRonpa games, and have 16 victims, that’s 14 weeks of murder as it goes until there are two students left. So 14 weeks x 53 = 742 weeks or 14 years, 2 months and 3 weeks of murder. This also means Tsumugi is at minimum in her 30s. This is assuming that she’s telling the truth, of course.
d. Misc
Maybe a bit of a stretch, but the D.I.C.E logo and the Future Foundation logo look similar.
Why is the History of Hope’s Peak Academy book even here, let alone in Kokichi’s lab? All it does is reveal all of the inconsistencies in Tsumugi’s fake memories.
Actually, the labs in general are a bit odd. All of them are really stereotypical, it reminds me of when I’m designing a house in the Sims for a character who’s athletic so there’s just sports equipment everywhere.
So my theory is as thus:
NDRV3 doesn’t take place in a world where everyone is obsessed with DanganRonpa and watches Killing Games all day. It takes place in the regular old DanganRonpa universe (possibly where people watch Killing Games), some time after the events of DR3.
Tsumugi is a part of the Remnants of Despair. I’m guessing that either a) They are actually putting on a Killing Game reality show so they can watch people slip into despair then climb into hope then slip into despair again (this could be part of why previous survivors carry over) or b) something else, like studying Ultimate Talents in a slightly more gory way than Hope’s Peak was.
Tsumugi being part of the Remnants of Despair would also explain why the memories are imperfect. She worships Junko, she’s obviously going to play up her actions and downplay the actions of everyone else, it’s a classic propaganda move, and everyone who could have told them about the inner workings of Hope’s Peak Academy is no longer part of the Remnants of Despair.
I’m also going to toss out there that Team DGR might be another name for the Remnants of Despair. This isn’t based on anything, other than their running of Killing Games and it’s the organisation Tsumugi is a part of.
All of this is speculation and quite a bit of reaching, but I had fun doing it and not the pressing assessment that’s due today so that’s all that matters, right? I might update this post from time to time.
