Starting next week, I’ll be back with another year of the 12 Days of Chenford! If you haven’t read last year’s fics, make sure you check them out to get in the holiday spirit. This year you can expect more words, because I don’t know what brevity is, and more Chenford winter shenanigans!

It's finally here!!! Hello and welcome to Chenford Spooktacular 2024, where we are not only celebrating our beloved ship but also the fall and Halloween season! This special event will begin on Saturday, October 26th, and run for seven days before coming to an end on Friday, November 1st. 

During these seven days, you will find two fall and two halloween themed prompts (see the graphic above or click the read more line below) that you are more than welcome to mix-and-match or just use one prompt, it's completely up to you! Using the tag #chenfordspooktacular24, you can post a multitude of different forms of media (fics, gifs, edits, moodboards, etc.) as long as it's within the realms of the prompts!

That's it! If you feel so inclined, reblog to spread the word. Otherwise, have fun, and don't forget to add your amazing fanfics to the Chenford Spooktacular 2024 event on AO3 which will open the first day! If we've forgotten something or should you have any questions, please drop us an ask!

18. current number of wips

I think currently, including the epilogue of COAV, I’ve got roughly 10 wips??? those are ones that I’ve actually planned out or have started writing though. there are countless other rough ideas I have in a google doc somewhere

19. any new fics to start next year

yes, like all of those wips lol! my top priorities are the Violet/Gallo AU I can hopefully start posting in January, the Brettsey LDR oneshot, and a pretty hefty Chenford college AU that’s coming soon!!

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

I made a moodboard for a Brettsey Cinderella AU and posted that but I never ended up writing the fic. I wish I had though! Most of my unwritten fic ideas come from random moodboards I make, such as a moodboard of April Sexton as a surfer that I wanted to write something for so desperately but never got the chance to, and a moodboard I had for if Chloe and Cruz had a second kid but it was a girl this time (because one of my favourite modern jazz singers looks exactly like what I think a Cruz/Chloe daughter would look like). Hopefully I’ll be able to write some of these. Fingers crossed!

ANON DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!! I’m too indecisive and my friends are all too talented omg. Ok so I’d definitely say @fighterkimburgess because I’m hooked onto Cíara’s fanfics like I’m a junkie in need of crystal meth. They’re seriously SO TALENTED. And also @sylviebrettsey because even though Sky’s only just started writing again, it gives me all the fluffy Brettsey feels. And literally countless others for the OC fandom, like @alittlextrathatway @katie-049 @crockettmarcel and @kim-ruzek because holy shit the talent is insane. And for chenford fanfic it goes to @farfarawaygirl and @doomedship because they’re my favs!

30. favourite fandom to read fic from this year

I know I must totally sound like a broken record here but I’ve got to give this one to the Brettsey fandom. This yesr we were hit with so much shit, both at the beginning of the year, the middle, AND the end. But you know what? every single writer delivered pure gold and milked every opportunity for what it was worth. There was an endless supply of addicting fics out there so bravo to us!

A/N: There are lots of Easter Eggs in this story that will hatch later, and Baby Bradford's name is one of them. She was Erica Melissa in my drafts for another fic until I came up with the perfect name. I'll reveal what it is before the end of the week.

“Lucy.” Tim rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest with a sigh, clearly exasperated. 

She can sense his patience is wearing thin, but the humorous spark in her playful brown eyes tells him she’s only getting started. “Oh, come on! You know you love your costume.”

“Seriously, Boot? I look like I’m about to host a fucking country club brunch with trust fund bozos named Eric and Barrett,” he deadpans, shaking his head in defeat, a bemused grin tugging at his lips despite his annoyance. “I thought we were all supposed to match.” He gestures to his outfit matter of factly. “This isn’t exactly bug-themed.”

He’s reminded of the way he looked when he had to schmooze Columbia University donors last year with his wife. He's almost tempted to trade this whole look for a ridiculous, bright yellow bee suit. At least then, he’d be on par with his family rather than the odd man out. He narrows his eyes at Lucy.

“Okay, okay. Fine. You’re a wasp!” She declares, unable to contain her laughter.

“Excuse me?” Tim’s blue-grey eyes widen in disbelief, incredulity written all over his face.

“You’re a WASP!” Lucy emphasizes the last word, her tone playful and teasing, clearly enjoying herself. “White Anglo Saxon Protestant! That’s your costume!”

“LUCY!” Tim groans, shaking his head. “Look, if this is payback for all the times I killed bugs in your apartment when you asked me to release them…” He rolls his eyes dramatically, handing their baby off to his wife.
