I can totally see Chen Ying's colleagues shoving all the asia-related cases and asian suspects/ witnesses to her, even if she doesn't speak the languages. therefore, I think she has learnt at least the basics of many languages, in order to communicate better. [before anyone says anything about the accents, I bet the doylist explanation is that the actors are not native chinese speakers, or it was a stylistic choice for them to have accents. i am providing the watsonian headcanons, okay? suspend your disbelief.]

- the "ying" character in Chen Ying's name is the same "ying" character in "ying wen" (meaning "english"). I'd wager her parents named her that in hopes that she will fit in to NY, so she's most likely a second generation immigrant to the US.

- Chen Ying most likely had to face a lot of racism, especially from police colleagues and bosses, and she's kind of resigned to it already. I was thinking about their backstories and all that, then turns out they were not related LMFAO

I'm curious about:

- the little girl and her butler dressed as sherlock? is she an orphan heiress or are her parents just super permissive? her butler's gotta have some kind of bodyguard training at least, that's just good sense.

I feel like I'm doing headcanons wrong, but I don't know how to headcanon any characters' favourite songs or animals without textual support, so I delivered what I could. it was fun rewatching, but I'm most likely never making headcanons ever again, for any media, lol. sketches maybe, hcs nope

Bonjour, pouvez-vous vous présenter en quelques mots ? Jean-Jacques Sagot, prof agrégé d’EPS en retraite. Bientôt 65 ans.

Quel est votre parcours dans le monde du taijiquan, des arts martiaux, du qigong, des pratiques de bien-être et de santé, de la méditation, etc ? Enseignant le taichi depuis plus de 25 ans (dont 20 ans dans le cadre scolaire), ex-président de la formation fédérale et du collège technique de la FAEMC (à l’époque FFTCCT), fondateur de l’option taichi au baccalauréat… Fondateur de l’association La Grande Ourse Débuts dans les arts externes (judo, boxe anglaise dans les années 70) Taichi depuis 1986 : Styles Yang (Cheng Man ching, Fu Zhong Wen, Gu Meisheng, Zhao Minde…), Style Sun (Sun Jian Yun, Liang Xiao Wan, Chen Guofu), Style Wu Hao (Chen Guofu). Mes responsabilités fédérales m’ont amené à côtoyer et connaître l’intégralité des styles de taichi pratiqués en France, ainsi que nombre de filières de qigong.

Comment êtes-vous entré en contact avec le taijiquan de style Wu Hao ? Avec Chen Guofu, élève de Hao Shaoru, après avoir étudié le style Sun, depuis 2005.

Qu’est-ce qui vous a séduit dans ce style ? C’est, pour moi, le plus profond.

Que vous apporte cette pratique au quotidien ? Impossible de l’évoquer comme ça.

Selon vous, qu’est-ce qui est le plus difficile dans la pratique de ce style ? Le dépouillement

Un conseil à donner aux sœurs et frères de pratique ? Étudier obligatoirement les autres styles. Je me demande même s’il n’est pas préférable de commencer le taichi par un autre style. Pratiquer les tuishou les plus divers.
