What if Charlie had an alternate origin… perhaps Lucifer took another wife and cuckoos Lilith into raising her. For my redesign I wanted to make her look boring in comparison to the rest of the more demonic looking cast. I Gave her a cute snake tail, and spooky eyes!! Also I took inspiration from the chimera Cuz it seems viv can’t pick a motif for Charlie so she just slapped them all on!

Message in a Haunted Mansion: BOOK info

-Abby is said to be about 35 years old.  Rose’s niece.  Plays piano.  Full skirt, peasant shawl, hoop earrings.  Purple scarf tied over her long red hair.  She is described as “heavyset” and is sensitive about her weight. Has a black cat named Alfreida.

-Charlie’s surname is Webber.  He is much older, and has a limp.  So not many people want to hire him for renovation work.  He has a daughter named Cassandra who works in Louis’ antiques store.

-There is a homeless teenage boy with long blonde hair that is mistaken for the ghost of Lizzie Applegate.  This character was combined with Charlie Webber to create the Charlie Murphy seen in the game.

-The homeless boy, Timmy Coletti, has a white dog named Tramp.  Lizzie Applegate also had a white dog.

-The phoenix is a symbol of San Francisco, because of the rebuilding after fire.

-Nancy, Bess, and George go to a Chinese restaurant across the street and meet a waitress named Mary Lee.  Her family owns the restaurant.  Her great grandfather was the cook who worked at the GG hotel.  Mary appears several times throughout the book.  The Gum Bo Fu clue comes from Mary’s family.

-Nancy and Bess go to a public library to research the history of the mansion.  They also visit the Chandler antiques store, along with George.

-They want Victorian costumes to wear to the Winter Festival where Louis will have a booth for his Victorian antiques.  Nancy goes to the festival but leaves early.

-Louis pursued Rose romantically to have more sway over her.

-The book takes place around Christmas.  Christmas Day was when Diego disappeared, after his last heist.  The gold in the mansion is from the Christmas Day robbery.  The piano song references Christmas gold, which was carried over to the game.

Are there any scifi books/authors that have influenced your writing style or approach to scifi?

Every scifi author that I've read, presumably.

I'm a fan of the older scifi authors who were just like "here is A Mindblowing Concept and here is something Extremely Fucked Up to cover it, have fun." Philip K Dick type shit. But for modern authors I think my biggest influences are KA Applegate/Michael Grant, and Andy Weir. If you read Charlie MacNamara, you can pinpoint the specific place I read The Martian for the first time and started adding a bunch of complicated physics shit. :P

Animorphs: The Introduction

The first time I ever saw an Animorphs book was at a discount bookfair held in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. You had to drive to a soy field to get there. It had some kid on it who slowly slid into some sort of lizard or something. I don't remember what the animal was to be entirely honest, but I think it was green. They had maybe fifty copies of this book lined up on a shelf, gathering dust. I never read the book or got a copy – my mom wouldn't have let me at the time, and I didn't have the money myself to afford it – and evidently not that many people did either, since the books sat there gathering dust.

When I was an adult I found out Animorphs was a whole phenomenon, to the degree that only elementary and middle schoolers can do. Not only were there fifty-four books in the main series (although several were ghostwritten) but there was even a TV show from 1998 to 2000. There were also these amazing toys that look like this:

So I started investigating. I found this article by Charlie O'Mannin where he read all the Animorphs books in five days, and learned that the books were full of body horror, time travel, war crimes, and teenage hijinks, while the five main human characters – Jake, Tobias, Marco, Rachel, and Cassie – along with an Andolite named Ax deal with an alien invasion that already started.

Full disclosure, I've read the first book and it's a wild ride. And since the internet exists as a cesspool where anyone can post their ramblings on whatever strikes them at the moment, here we are.

I make no promises about completing this task. The Controllers are everywhere, and what they do to people who resist them is too horrible to think about. I'm writing this all down so that more people will learn the truth. Maybe then, somehow, the human race can survive until the Andalites return and rescue us, as they promised they would.

Maybe.
