Sickness update: Still coughing, but it's (mostly) dry coughing now, and my headache is gone! But I'm not at 100% back-to-normal mental capacity yet either :(
Writing update: I've been hard at work on my angsty longfic! I was going to work on something lighter (especially with my cold) but all of a sudden more and more ideas to add to my AU kept popping in my head and I just had to jot them down.
Before long I was finally organizing my outline by putting all my previous bullet-point came-to-me-at-random-times-of-the-night-and-put-in-an-equally-random-order concepts into plot-chronological order as they should be, and making headings/sections for the major location changes to find stuff easier, and getting down how exactly series-and-collection-wise I want to go about categorizing the fic and its sequels, and finalizing their titles (which are all names of songs on The Glitch Mob's Drink the Sea album, give it a listen with good headphones if you haven't before, it's great background music!!) and oh yeah I needed to go over the h2hs again better open that doc, and I definitely need to have the game's script and cutscenes on hand for reference as needed (which was very frequently) and now baby I've got a stew going
I'm having so much fun writing characters I haven't gotten to write before, and (minor/vague Xenoblade spoilers) digging into the details of the lore about Face Mechon and expanding on my take of what was happening on the Mechonis before the party got there, and fitting lots of little puzzle pieces that the game gives you but doesn't directly tell you they belong together which is why I love it so much, and getting into such a nice flow state with it all and gjshfhskfh I love Xenoblade 1 so muchhhhhh!!!
So all that is to say I will hopefully be posting the prologue tomorrow or the day after! :) No promises as it's gotten much longer/more-detailed than I planned for (although I really should have expected that, it's always how it goes with me when I'm having fun writing I just can't stop haha) but it is most definitely on the way to being published soon!
#aside#before i get into mild spoilers for my fic (as in no details about the plot itself but i mention#which characters i'm writing in the prologue so if you want to go in completely blind turn back now!)#i will fill space by reiterating that drink the sea is such a good album and you should listen to it#my favorite track is Starve The Ego Feed The Soul :) listening to it with really good headphones and no other background noise is so#mmmmmmm it tickles my brain in the best way#as for the fic though i am having SO. much. fun. writing egil and mumkhar#i don't mention egil much publicly but he's one of my absolute fav characters from xc top 5 for sure#finally getting into his headspace and delving into his subtleties like his arrogance and loss of empathy is very :)#quite different from anything i've written before but in a good way. hope you like it as much as i had fun writing it!#and writing mumkhar's enthusiastic and sarcastic dickishness is a blast lmao#he was only supposed to be a small feature and likely even just an offscreen mention or two from egil#but then i realized how much i had written with zero dialogue (i like to do that especially in the middle of a conversation lol) and#i thought ''hm let's fix that! in fact part of my reason for having mumkhar here is that#he talks way too fucking much and it annoys egil to the point where he literally stitches his mouth shut so yeah having him actually#talk with specific words is important to the point i'm trying to make!'' and then oops my draft is an extra page longer now#but i had fun writing it and if it serves the story and the points i want to get across then i can't find the heart to delete it#and hey it's been so long since i've published anything so more is better anyway right?

hello klaus!!! 👋 i was curious, who are your favorite characters from xenoblade 1...? xb1 is such a treasured game to me and it makes me happy to see someone else who likes both p3 and xb1 (also splatoon!!!). have a nice day and thank you for all the fun tags, your energy is just so fun to see 🥺💛
HI LIZZ ^_^ !!! and omg xb1 is so so special to me as well thank u for giving me the chance to ramble a bit hehe !!! shulk and alvis are my special guys of all time >>> shulk especially is so so special to me there's so much abt him that i love and resonates with me. like his difficulty communicating with ppl and doesn't wanna burden others (and like the way he's initially super hesitant to tell ppl abt his visions) is just so. yeah. i see so much of myself in that. BUT ALSO !!! i just love how much kindness he holds and how steadfast his views are despite everything the world throws at him (the one scene where he stops dunban from killing mumkhar has always stood out in my brain to me. as well as the moment he has with egil after the fight at mechonis core). and also he's so very autistic to me <3
also I love alvis my silly little super computer who speaks in riddles. and !! shalvis is one of my favourite ships of all time, those two are very near and dear to my heart :>
and uh um yeah my namesake. there's a reason why i stole his name for myself LMAO (also I'm just very normal about pre experiment earth, galea, klaus and the trinity processors. I'm so very normal abt that part of xenoblade lore. u can imagine how i reacted to the end of xb3 future redeemed lol)
OH MY GOD ALSO...!! I've had this on my brain a lot lately... I feel like aigis and fiora would be besties ^_^ two robot girlies who were built to be weapons and are struggling with their identity and feeling "human enough".... yeah
and oouuu thank you I hope you have a lovely day too :( <3 i love never shutting the hell up about the things i love and I'm so glad to share some of that energy on here ^_^ and i love your energy too !!! seeing your tags on my art never fails to give me the biggest fucking smile and i hope u know that i appreciate them so so much :> (i keep going back to look at them!!) and I'm so glad we share so many interests :D <33 !!!!!

Today started with some sidequesting to get up to Galahad Fortress levels, then we kept on pushing through the plot to get Fiora!
The roommate wants you all to know that she's in awe of the level of detail put into the worldbuilding in this game. She just discovered that the Nopon in Alcamoth specifically make an effort to speak without the Nopon dialect and she can't believe they'd put that much effort into something as small as NPC dialogue
(Personally, I'm really happy she's getting so deep into the Xenoblade Chronicles experience and enjoying it so much. It's going to be a fun ride through the Blade trilogy!)
We finally got through the second Mumkhar fight by the literal skin of our teeth. Shulk (player character) had already reached 0 hp and was falling to the ground (no party gauge for revival) when the fight went to the cutscene somehow?? Our theory is that Reyn (the only one alive) managed to finish an autoattack as Shulk was dying and just barely brought Mumkhar down. Idk what it is with her and the Mumkhar fights but she's pulling out some spectacular feats in them
It's half an hour to midnight, we're in the thick of Galahand Fortress, and I think I'm going to just let her get to that cliffhanger at midnight and Suffer
It's midnight, we just landed on the Arm, and we're still going! One thing I'm very proud of is that I laid all the groundwork for her to think that we'd be going to the Bionis Foot at some point, so we're walking around the Arm and I hear her say "wow, the foot is the most metallic part of him"
After the fight where Shulk reactivated the Monado, she just looked at me and said "the Monado's killing him" so mark another one down on her predictions I guess
You all know we're huge Riki lovers at this point so it should be no surprise that we were both choked up during the cutscene with him and Dunban

Junk Sword Playthru
On my most recent NG+ playthru of XBDE, I decided, hey, why not set the appearance of Shulk's weapon to the Junk Sword?
Hilarity ensued.
Tumblr media
The first cutscene affected by this change is when the party first encounters Metal Face.
Tumblr media
Like with Dunban's weapon in the prologue of a NG+ in the original version of the game, a Monado light visual effect just gets slapped on the Junk Sword when the Monado is supposed to be active.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, support that blade of light with your hand!
Tumblr media
Get impaled by the Junk Sword, idiot.
Tumblr media
Shots that focus on the Monado just became really hilarious to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, Otharon, no it wasn't.
Tumblr media
Shulk, that's the sword's edge you're holding it by. Shulk, you're gonna cut yourself.
And then I found out other characters will hold the Junk Sword instead of the Monado.
Tumblr media
To be fair to Alvis, his weapon IS just a palette-swap of the Junk Sword. Still funny to see though.
Tumblr media
Shulk continues to pose dramantically... with the Junk Sword.
And then we come to Valak.
Oh Valak.
Tumblr media
This is what had me vibrating with anticipation after the Alvis example.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It doesn't even properly rest on Mumkhar's shoulder lmao.
Tumblr media
Good luck holding back Dunban with the Junk Sword, Shulk.
Tumblr media
Oh no, the Junk Sword is being deactivated!
Tumblr media
This was an unexpectedly funny shot. The Junk Sword is enough shorter than the Monado II that it just... sorta hovers above the ground here.
Tumblr media
Um, Miqol, no, it isn't.
Tumblr media
The Junk Sword impaling anything just looks kinda silly to me.
Tumblr media
Another instance where the model doesn't physically match up is in Mechonis Core.
And now, for the part that truly got me. That had me laughing so hard I nearly fell off my chair.
Tumblr media
Zanza gets the Junk Sword.
I was not expecting that. At all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just... look at him lol.
Tumblr media
Fiora gets to hold it too.
Tumblr media
Junk Sword can still block bullets.
Tumblr media
And hands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here it is. One of the last frames with the Junk Sword.
Thank you for joining me on this silly journey. This was a really fun change to the cutscenes.
There were plenty of screenshots I couldn't fit in here. I'll likely make separate posts for some of them (particularly ones in Makna, Valak, and Mechonis Core).
And for those keeping track, five characters got to hold the Junk Sword: Shulk, Alvis, Mumkhar, Zanza, and Fiora. What a lineup.

Sure thing, anon! Thanks for sending this in!
SEND ME A CHARACTER AND I’LL DO THIS;
Sexuality Headcanon: Gay dude for sure, just has the vibes Gender Headcanon: Trans man, rep for us stinky trans guys <3 A ship I have with said character: I once crackshipped Mumkhar/Gadolt and well. Mumkhar/Dunban as exes as well A BROTP I have with said character: Him and Xord seems like it would be hilarious, also the Sword Valley Trio A NOTP I have with said character: Mumkhar/Fiora is a thing I've seen once or twice. No <3 A random headcanon: He had siblings before his colony fell. Made seeing Fiora and Dunban all the more bitter for him. General Opinion over said character: I like him. Bitch who is so funny, good time when he's on screen.

are you familiar with ff14?? theres a lot of xenoblade voice actor overlap in that game
Oh, yes!! I've been playing 14 for a while and am a huuuge fan of it :) I'm even in a static as well! (I got my first p9s clear just a few days ago :D)
My friends who got me into it told me about the VA overlap and it's been super fun recognizing all the familiar voices! (Speaking of p9s, I swear to god the martialist form of that boss is voiced by Mumkhar's VA. Even if it's not actually true, it is to me. My friends noticed it too and made jokes about it when we were progging, like saying "Hi Mumkhar" when he changed into martialist hahaha.)
For anyone who hasn't played 14 and is curious who's all in the cast, there's a ton of them actually! The VAs for Shulk, Fiora, Alvis, Egil, Mumkhar, Gadolt, Yumea, and even Colonel Vangarre are all here, and aside from voicing random background/very-minor characters, most of them play pretty important roles as well! Egil's and Mumkhar's VAs both voice major characters that show up in the story constantly, while Alvis', Shulk's, Fiora's, and Gadolt's VAs play important minor characters! Also I think I've heard Dunban's VA is here as well? But if so he's only voiced bg characters so minor he isn't even credited anywhere for them haha.
Although if you want to try 14 out just because of the VA overlap, it's important to know that the voice cast for 14 changed completely after the first major arc finished, and the bulk of the Xenoblade cast only show up after that changeover. But Vangarre's VA got to voice a major antagonist for that first arc so there's that!
And speaking of Xenoblade and FFXIV* crossing over, my little project to recreate a bunch of the Xenoblade characters in 14 is still in the works! I posted a sneak peek of Shulk a while back if you're interested :D
*I refer to it as "ffixv" most of the time including in my tags so that's probably why people missed my interest in it, maybe I should go back and add "ff14" to that as well haha

I think OP is right about this but I also want to build on this if I may. I’ve never really liked how discussion of Xenoblade 1 and 2 has devolved into this binary of ‘oh Xenoblade 1 is story driven and Xenoblade 2 is character driven’. Because I think it oversimplifies both stories and does them both a disservice.
Yes Xenoblade 1 has a strong central hook, the plot moves along at a steady pace and there are a lot of effective dramatic twists that cause the party’s goals to change as it goes on. But to say that the plot doesn’t care about the characters or that they don’t have meaningful arcs is fallacious. Shulk’s progression of overcoming his desire for revenge, shifting from a timid, socially awkward scientist, to a capable leader of the party with a repressed vengeful streak to a a wise, enlightened young man who understands the nature of the very universe is genuinely splendidly done. Nor is he the only one. Reyn gains a more mature outlook and reflects on his purpose as a protector to his friends and what he should aspire to now that its clear Shulk doesn’t need him. Melia begins as a sheltered, lonely young woman who feels like a stranger in her own family. She gains a found family of people who genuinely understand her, helping her to overcome the suffering she is continually beset by over the story and their guidance helps her grow into the role of leader to her people. The older members of the party, Dunban and Riki, fully self actualised people, may not go through quite as prominent growth. But we still get to peel back the layers of their personalities as they share their experiences and guidance with their younger companions. And we get plenty of insight into everyone’s dynamics with each other through their heart to hearts. Do I think some of them could have been taken further? Yes. I think Dunban’s hatred of Mumkhar and harsher more pragmatic perspective as a seasoned soldier could have been explored more to make him sparing Mumkhar have more impact. I would have liked more insight into Sharla struggling with the burden of protecting her colony outside of her grief over Gadolt. And while I’ve always maintained that the idea that Fiora’s character revolves around bring a love interest to Shulk is grossly unfair, I do think the nature of her existence as part human, part machine sharing a soul with a god could have been mined further. As could her feelings about her looming mortality (and I wonder if Takahashi thought the same thing on that last point, since that’s precisely what he did with Mio in Xenoblade 3). I do absolutely think some more of the character interactions from the heart to hearts could have been interwoven into the story so it wasn’t missable. But the characters, arcs, and chemistry of 1’s cast is still really, really good. Remember how much if 1’s early positive reception was about what a breath of fresh air the characters were: how they felt like real, good-natured, fleshed out people and not walking anime tropes at a time when JRPGs were accused of being too insular and stagnant within the realm of otaku culture.
As for Xenoblade 2, as much as I love it’s cast, I think the ‘2 is character driven’ mantra doesn’t do its plot justice and isn’t entirely accurate either. 2 also has a clear goal for most of its plot, (get to the World Tree, bring Pyra to Elysium, and find a way to save Alrest from stagnation). It may not shift the goalposts as often as 1 does, but that destination is complicated by a number of twists and reveals about the characters and world. The plot of Xenoblade 2 still matters. Yeah, I think it’s pacing on the early half could be better. But to say the plot of 2 doesn’t matter really and is purely a vehicle for character writing is really reductive. It’s still got a good sense of mystery, plenty of dramatic twists and emotional moments. Just as the first game did. I think the ‘character driven’ idea is born from how Xenoblade 2 doesn’t use its heart to hearts as much and integrates more character interactions into breathing spaces in the main story. And yes. This is something I like about 2 and I’m glad it carried into 3. And make no mistake. I adore 2’s cast. I enjoy Rex’s journey of gradually understanding how thelf works (right down to its ugliest elements) and maturing without letting it break that inner child optimistic instinct. Pyra and Mytha’s hatred of their power and immortality, and desire for it all to end, only for them to find something to live for through their bonds with the party, resolving to use their power to help the people they love, is fantastic stuff. Nia’s cynicism masking a loneliness and fear of being judged and rejected, only for Rex’s optimism to bleed into her and encourage her to live as her true self is wonderfully handled. And that’s without even getting into Torna. But I think it’s false to assume that it’s that much more character driven than 1. We still have characters who stick around more out of loyalty to their friends than any more personal motive. This was true of Reyn, Sharla and Riki in 1 and it’s true of Tora, Morag and Zeke in 2. And while I think the characters and their rapport are great, there are still members of the party who have untapped potential. Zeke is an absolute joy but it is kind of egregious how his feelings about his family’s historical revisionism and how he isn’t actually the descendant of his hero Addam, never comes up again after it’s introduced. I like Dromarch and Pandoria but let’s be real, they don’t have much going on outside their connection to their Drivers. And I myself have already written extensively about the huge missed potential in Tora’s character.
The idea that most of the characters’ stories don’t matter as much as the protagonists was a criticism of 1, but it does still apply to 2. I think 1 and 2 could both have gone further with their casts since no story is perfect. But I still think their casts are generally good, and even if they could have had better justification to be here, I’m still glad that they are. Saying 2 is character driven both kind of overstates the characters (much as I adore them) and understates the story. And the reverse applies just as much to 1.
Xenoblade had always been about combining three pillars of a compelling, steadily moving plot, three dimensional character writing and detailed world-building. And while they largely straddle this balancing act, none of them do it perfectly. This applies to X and 3 as well. Hell it can be said for the earlier Xeno games (if perhaps on a wider scope). To point out that maybe some entries do better in one of these pillars is one thing. Plus a lot of that is gonna be shaped by taste. But to say any one of these entries just doesn’t care about plot or characters is really reductive and feels like the product of fandom camps trying to score points in favour of their preferred game.
Aight who was the influencer that told people that xenoblade 2 is notably and significantly more character-driven than the other xenoblade games
who is lying to the people

At the Start of the World Chapter 1
Anything but Normal
--
Tumblr media
Fiora wakes up, she brushes her hair and puts it up in two ponytails, and goes to check on Dunban. She changes his bandages and pushes him back down in bed, telling him to wait here while she makes breakfast. She does just that and they eat together, her sitting next to his bed.
She gets to work after that, making sure lunch is ready before too long. She stands in front of the pot and slaves away at the curry, cuts the supplies for the sandwiches at the same time. Reyn always likes a healthy mix of veggies and meat -- energy aubergines in rare supply and only for special occasions. Shulk likes more meat than veggies, but she always sneaks some in anyway, just in case. He needs it to grow healthy!
She listens to the meat cook on the stovetop and prepares the bread. It's always a busy day in the kitchen, but she wouldn't have it any other way. It's nice to keep busy -- nice to have a way to forget about the threat that was looming until just recently.
She frowns deeply thinking about Dunban. The Battle of Sword Valley had been a year ago, that cursed sword had nearly killed him so recently... And yet she knows he still thinks of it.
He's always talking about getting well enough to wield it again, talking about defending the Homs once more. Maybe that's why she's convinced herself the Mechon can't come back. If they can't come back, then Dunban doesn't have to hurt himself anymore.
She turns back to the curry and the meat, telling herself not to worry about that. Thinking about them is just a way of inviting them in. If she thinks of them, she gives them power. If she gives them power...
She once again cuts her thoughts off and gets back to work. Maybe today is a special enough day to give Reyn some energy aubergines on his sandwich. She knows they're a pain to find, but with some gumption she always does.
"Yeah, I think I'll do that." She tells herself, "a little treat never hurt anybody."
She reaches into the cabinets, and gets fully enveloped in the cooking.
--
Fiora touches the spot the Monado bounced off her and frowns. Shulk really hadn't cared, not one bit... What if it had done something to her?! Would he have even thought twice about it?
She swallows hard as she paces around the lab, the boys gone. They went to get ether cylinders... it should be fine, right? Reyn's a bit hardheaded, but he's got a good heart and no way will he let Shulk get hurt…
Unlike Shulk, he actually cares about the wellbeing of his friends, she thinks with a pout.
She just hopes he won't get overwhelmed. There's only two of them, and an entire nest of Mell Lizards... Rumour has it the nest is right next to Wallslide Gwynry's lair. She bites her thumb thinking about it... and... Oh, damn it!
She can't just leave them like that. She finds the canisters for the transfer of the cylinders laying right outside the lab and takes her chance. Slung onto her back, she starts out for Tephra Cave herself.
--
"Shulk, go." Fiora's voice is tense as she stands back to back with Reyn. "We'll handle things here, you get to the mobile artillery."
"Fiora! You can't be serious," he shakes his head. "I can't just leave the two of you!"
"We'll be fine," she promises. "We'll be right after you before you know it! I'm Dunban's sister in more than name, you know."
"I ain't been training for so long to not hold my own weight!" Reyn adds with a grin. "I know what to do. Knock 'em off balance then topple 'em, right? Fiora and I got that covered."
A Mechon charges, but Fiora's able to knock it off balance just in time. Reyn knocks it over, and Fiora dazes it where it sits. She looks at Shulk then, a fire in her eyes as she does.
"See? Go on ahead, we won't be long."
Shulk finally nods. "Both of you... be safe."
Shulk is off down the street then, and when Fiora is sure he's a safe distance away, she goes on the offensive. These Mechon... Coming back out of nowhere, putting Dunban and her friends at risk all over again... She decides she won't let it happen, not again.
She strikes with her knives, and Reyn is quick to follow. They build a synergy quickly enough, and Fiora doesn't feel like stopping. She'll take them all down, no matter what it takes.
"You know, Fiora..." After a few moments, Reyn begins to pant out words. "Maybe you should go after Shulk, you ain't much of a fighter."
"And leave you without a way to throw the Mechon off balance?" She shakes her head. "No way!"
He shrugs. "Fair enough."
A pillar starts to collapse and first Fiora thinks crap, that's the way Shulk went. Then she thinks shit, it's falling right towards us. She dives to the side, and Reyn does the same.
Rolling across the ground, she braces herself and lets out a groan, pulling herself up. Mechon had already come at Reyn, trying to get to him. He's barely holding them off...
She runs forward and strikes against the Mechon, her knives doing nothing.
"Fiora! Get out of here!"
"I can't just leave you, Reyn! We promised Shulk we'd be right behind him, right?" She strikes again and grunts. "I can't go back on that!"
She keeps trying, as impossible as it seems, and a blue light flashes by her. Before she knows it, the Mechon around them are falling to the ground, destroyed. She lets out a gasp.
"Dunban!"
He's breathing heavily, and she can see his arm twitching in pain. "Sorry to keep you waiting!"
Reyn's eyes are shining. "The Monado...! I had a feeling you had it!"
"He shouldn't," Fiora frowns. "Dunban, you shouldn't have left your room! You're still injured!"
"I'm fine." He shakes his head, brushing off her worry. "Shulk's not with you?"
Fiora shook her head. "We sent him on ahead, to the Residential District. We were supposed to be right behind him."
Reyn looks that way, "looks like we have to go the long way 'round, think Shulk'll mind."
"I doubt it, but..." She glances at her brother. "Let's avoid fighting as much as we can, okay?"
--
Fiora watches as blood comes from Dunban's mouth, watches the Monado fall and slide forward. The cursed sword that hurt her family so much. The blessed sword that kept Homs alive this long.
She grits her teeth and finds herself running forward. She won't let Dunban get hurt, not anymore. She grabs the Monado and holds it tight, it feels weird compared to her knives... Unnatural.
"I'll protect you this time!"
"Fiora, no!" Dunban's voice is strained. "It'll kill you!"
She ignores him, like he always ignores her pleas to forget about the Monado. Rushing forward a scream rips from her throat and she rushes the Mechon. For a moment, she feels as if she's seeing the future, moving so deftly to avoid each and every attack. A gift from a god, one would say if they were a believer.
She wonders if this is what Shulk saw earlier, when he touched the Monado in the lab. She wonders if she's rushing down the same path as him, an obsession with a weapon they can never understand.
That can wait until later, though. For now, she cuts down the Mechon. She'll ask Shulk about this later, when she finds him. If anyone has even an inkling of an idea of what that meant, it would be him.
"Fiora!" Reyn's yelling and Dunban seems stunned in awe. "More incoming!"
Dunban pulls himself to his feet then. "Reyn!"
"Yeah!"
The two join the fray and, in no time, they have the advantage. The Monado still feels foreign in Fiora's hands, but bit by bit she's acclimating, figuring out what to do.
Dunban slides to a stop at her back. "Fiora, are you alright?"
"Fine, I just..." She frowns. "I think I know what Shulk saw earlier. I think he saw into the future. Is that something the Monado can just do?"
"First time I heard of it was from Shulk," Reyn replies, fighting off another Mechon. "You sure you saw the future?"
Fiora nods.
"...Dickson once mentioned a potential hidden power of the Monado, is this it?" Dunban asks, kicking a Mechon away from Fiora.
"That so? Guess we'll have to ask him more about it later." She grips the Monado tighter. "For now, we need to get to Shulk!"
--
The Monado doesn't work on the Mechon with the face. That fact makes her blood run cold, makes her freeze as she watches Dunban fight helplessly against it. She thinks he's going to die, thinks she'll lose him to this war, when a blast sounds through the night.
The Mobile Artillery, Shulk rushing forward. It's flying to the side, the Mechon with a metal face is stabbing through something. She hears herself screaming.
"Was that... another...?" Things click into place as she looks up and sees Shulk rushing for the Mechon. "Shulk, no! It'll kill you! Turn around!"
Shulk doesn't listen, all he does is yell that he'll help them. That they'll save Colony 9. He's shooting at the Mechon now, but still almost no reaction. Even less than a normal mechon would have. Does it have to do with the eerie red glow?
"Shulk! Please get out of here! Run!"
He's up against it now, shooting directly at it. Still nothing, even as the artillery falls. Even as the Faced Mechon gets up. Fiora can do nothing but watch as it lifts it, looks at Shulk for so long, and throws it to the side as if it's nothing.
She listens to Shulk's whimpers and yells, she hears herself screaming as Shulk screams. As he lets out what is his dying breath. She's shaking, coming back to reality. She grips the Monado, and a jolt goes through her, like a cold shock of electricity, right through her veins.
"I'll kill you...!"
