Listen I’m personally not at all surprised by the revelation that the art book explicitly calls A a woman, but what’s with the sudden historical revisionism going on where people claim it was absurd for A’s gender to have EVER be in doubt or considered ambiguous?

So yeah! Idk about everyone being strong but Al is fully capable to hold someone up with one arm with ease. And yeah to heros he would interrogate much more nicely while to bad guys he is more. Intense

I'll admit, I can appreciate/enjoy the narrative weight a character's death can have, but on the other hand I will never not be sad that Killjoys killed off Alvis :(

Poolside Chat

This is just a small thing because I really wanted to write Will and Alvie interacting, their banter is precious to me.

“What do you think?” Alvie said, pointing towards a dark-haired boy at the edge of the pool. “Do I have a chance?”

Will smiled and shook his head. “I hate to break your heart, but I saw him kiss his girlfriend in the lobby.”

“Girlfriend— There’s no way! He’s got an Exoskeleton t-shirt.”

“Are you implying that straight people don’t listen to punk rock?”

“You’re not straight, and they’re your favorite band.”

Will snickered into his hand. “That doesn’t mean anything.”

“My point is— I can tell he’s not straight.”

“I’m pretty sure that’s just wishful thinking.”

“Maybe you’re just jealous.” Alvie kicked some water towards him. “You’re driving me away so you can swoop in and claim him.”

Will scoffed. “Right, you know me so well. Will Shapiro, renowned-Casanova. I don’t think I’d ask him out, even if I was single—”

He quickly shut his mouth. Alvie gasped and leaned forward, nearly throwing them both into the pool.

“You’re dating someone, and you didn’t tell me?!”

“I don’t think I can call it dating.”

“Did you kiss them?”

Will shrank his shoulders and scratched his neck, causing Alvie to laugh.

“You’re dating, man. You can say it.”

“It’s… weird, isn’t it? I never would have predicted it.”

“That just makes it better!” Alvie propped his head up in his elbows. “So what’s their name?”

“It’s Colin.”

Will pulled out his phone and showed Alvie his background image— him and Colin standing in front of a waterfall. They had found it while walking in the woods after testing, and it became their new quiet place, their refuge from testing. The smile on Colin’s face that day had been brighter than the sun itself.

“He’s so cool,” Will said. “His power is heat manipulation. He could boil this whole pool in seconds, and never break a sweat. He uses it to cook sometimes— He’s an amazing chef, I have to save you some leftovers to try.”

Alvie’s jaw had practically hit the ground as he readjusted his glasses. “You lucky dog… He’s gorgeous.”

“Please don’t fall in love with my boyfriend.”

“I won’t, but— damn, dude. How much can he lift?”

“A lot, actually. He’s the top student in our weight-training exercises, right next to Jin.”

“Holy shit, he could snap me in half.”

Will rolled his eyes. “Okay, I’m not showing you any more.”

“No— I’ll behave, I swear!”

im always a big fan of unlikeable protagonists but honestly I just. fucking hate when they don't make sense for the story. like I love a piece of literature where the tragedy or driving force of the story comes about from the main character's arrogance or bitterness or self-centered behavior and it makes for a rich story. on the other hand. if I'm reading a small town cozy mystery there is NO reason for the amateur sleuth to be an insufferable asshole and I will drop it so fast if she is

Her boyfriend, Oromis aka new Sheogorath was in the Cyrodiil Mages Guild, so he completed that quest line before going to the Shivering Isles.

Yeah, they kinda break up after she absconds to Akavir and he mantles a Daedric Prince, but wouldn't it be ever so much funnier if like, Oromis killed Mannimarco the lich, only for his ex-girlfriend, an immortal necromancer, to move on with Mannimarco the god?

In Future Redeemed, Rex continues a line of thinking he had at the end of XC2 that was basically “If things had been different, Malos and I probably would have been friends”. And as sweet and in-character for Rex as that is, I genuinely wonder how Pyra and Mythra react to that. Malos ruined Mythra’s life and is the reason she went berserk and sunk Torna and I can’t imagine the whole chapter 7 kidnapping and memory swipe combo was very pleasant for Pyra either

being an alvis/A fan is so rough...first your fav gets progressively whitewashed by the games themselves, then you have to deal with seeing that reflected in fanart, then A comes around and gets misgendered all the goddamn time (specifically in regards to most translations using no/neutral pronouns) like so many times I will see cool fanart of alvis or A but they're pale as fuck and then remember that its technically what the game did and get miffed all over again. man.
