I am so glad that Akira Amano is not making Toto’s character a bumbling one but a capable police investigator.
Meaning, Ron sees Toto with his capabilities and acknowledges them.

Servamp chapter 131 translation "The Tempest"
Tumblr media
READ ON MANGADEX!
Translation notes:
Regarding the text on the color spread, it can be translated as "Moving towards the future, regardless of appearances" (or without caring what others think), that's what it means.
"Go towards the future brazenly", is one adaptation I considered of writing but I think al of the above sound a bit awkward so I decided to just explain it here in the notes.
Alright, moving on, in this chapter Nicco learned that Licht was the little boy he made a promise to and he was able to fulfill that promise by making a concert hall for Licht, Nicco's ability reflecting his dream of becoming an architect.
His ability references two movies, "La vita è bella" and "It's a wonderful life."
Tumblr media
Nicco's new ability is similar to what he does with his lead, shooting/stabbing, like when he used his "bullets" as nails, this time using pillars to immobilize larger enemies.
Tumblr media
I only read the summary of Tempest so my assumption why Lawless quotes this part is because it reflects a similar theme like the references of Nicco's ability, as in, they mention life, the world. Hope I made sense xD

I wrote about Gear's name for chapter 91, so check out this post if you'd like.
Basically, Hati from Gear's last name is a reference to Skoll and Hati, wolves from Norse mythology, the former chasing the sun and the latter, the moon.

There's a part of grammar in the original text, specifically in Mahiru's line where he says to Kuro "I know you can do it", that should be explained because it reveals what the speaker thinks about the person they are talking about and you can get a better sense of their relationship.
クロなら大丈夫だ。
Using the word that I bolded, it would translate as "If it's Kuro..."
So, when that word is used, it conveys that the speaker, in this case, Mahiru and we have seen his and Kuro's relationship, Mahiru conveys that he has confidence in Kuro, he's saying "Knowing you/I know what you're capable of, I know you can do it". I hope I explained well enough and that you liked the notes!
I also want to thank @katzkinder for helping me with cleaning the speech bubbles :)

How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in't."

The shock in Obi’s expression here makes me think that anyone truly ‘knowing’ him hasn’t happened before, or at least not for a very long time.
This is the first time he’s settled somewhere and allowed people to get close to him and now he has to experience the mortifying ordeal of being known. Sorry Obi.
