Went to see Deadpool and Wolverine tonight, it was amazing. Great to see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again and in the iconic yellow suit.

Ryan Reynolds slips perfectly back into character as the Merc with a Mouth filled with risqué insults, crazy epic fight scenes and fourth wall breaks. Is Deadpool the “Marvel Jesus,” after this?

The fight scene over Logan was epic and the exchange with Wade and the TVA agent was brilliant saying Logan was the best thing to ever come out of Canada. “Get my country’s name out of your mouth.” Lol

Also love the multiverse pisstake and the shade being thrown at Warner Bros/DC with the Henry Cavill cameo. They did a bit of an Across the Spiderverse thing with all the various Deadpools (was that a Welsh Deadpool or just a nod to Wrexham AFC?).

Cassandra Nova was a cool and interesting villain, she’s never really been used in any X-Men tv shows or films before so it was a nice change and funny that the main villains in this movie were both British.

The cameos were many, amazing and a few surprises that weren’t leaked yet, felt like a bit of a eulogy to the Fox Marvel characters. Wesley Snipes’s Blade, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Tyler Mane’s Sabertooth, Dafne Keen’s Laura/X23, Aaron Stanford’s Pyro, Ray Park’s Toad, Chris Evans’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch and the debut of Channing Tatum’s Gambit. I laughed when Evans came on screen and thought is this his Captain America or Human Torch? And I can see why they never made that Gambit solo film (no offence to Channing Tatum). Also why was Laura even in the void if she was from Wades timeline/universe after Wolverine’s sacrifice in Logan?

Now that mutants are slowly being integrated into the MCU I would like to think we’ll see more of the Wolverine’s, if not Logan then Laura since Wade was allowed to bring them both to his world.

Last week you and Jake went on a date to see Deadpool And Wolverine. It was opening weekend. The two of you were in anticipation to see it for months. So… the day finally rolled around, and you were not disappointed.

It was a movie experience the two of you would never forget. The jokes made you laugh until you hurt. The heartfelt moments made your chest ache. The cameos made you feel special. Through all the scenes you got a sense of deja'vu. Your childhood flashing before your eyes as you saw Jennifer Ganner, Chris Evans and Wesley Snipes reprices their iconic roles.

It made you feel everything a cinema should make you feel. It really had everything you could wish for in a movie. A funny heartfelt action movie with Hugh Jackman's 55-year-old abs, which you were still thinking about a week later. Your mind was heavy on Hugh Jackman and Jake’s mind was heavy on Channing Tatum.

Jake’s been a fan of his for years, so to see him in the film was amazing for Jake. He couldn’t stop using the Gambit voice and it was driving you crazy. It was funny, but Jake overused it. But luckily you had gotten him to ease up with it. He could use it, just not every second.

You were sitting in bed on your phone. Jake walking out of the bathroom and his eyes going to you. You looked so good. His lips curled into a mischievous smile as he approached the bed. When you felt the end of the bed dip from his weight, you looked up to see him slowly crawling up to you.

So yes we did go see Ketchup and Mustard also known as Deadpool and Wolverine! I actually wanted to go see the movie before leaving for vacation but that ended up not working due to stuff that was going on here in life but we did get to see it shortly after we left home for vacation.

Now yes there was plenty of in Theater Merch which I picked up way before we seen the movie which is explained here in the teaser pic but for everything that we got you can go here.

As for the movie itself I'm not going to say to much being by now everyone probably has already seen it by now.

but honestly for me I absolutely loved it!! every minute of it! all the references, Easter eggs, cameos and just pretty much everything was amazing the movie was totally orgasmic on a geeky lvl

The movie was hilarious! and some of it is just flat out ridiculous! but there was some nice dramatic moments in there which mostly center around this version of Wolverine. The action was wild, crazy and fun! I'm so happy this was left alone to be a R-rated movie if it wasn't I don't think it would have been as great as it was.

The production design, costumes, visuals were all great and even the music fit this so well!

I loved seeing the return of some of the original pre-MCU Marvel movie characters and did anyone one catch that Daredevil burn that Elektra did while they were in the cave? I was like "wow, ouch!" lol I'm also happy that Channing Tatum finally got to play Gambit after all these years.

I also thought Emma Corrin did pretty good as Cassandra Nova at lease a some what boiled down version of the character I didn't feel she was a major villain in this she was more of a secondary one.

One thing tho with the movie is when Hugh Jackman wears the mask for the first time near the end of the movie when they fight the Deadpool Corps. I felt him wearing it seemed a bit strange and maybe a bit jarring? its like you waited what 25 years to see that and it it kinda didn't look right? but yet there is promotional material with him wearing it and it looks fine but I think it was because you are so use to seeing him as this character with out it when he finally puts it on it looks strange because your not use to that.

but other then that the movie was excellent and like I said I loved it every minute of it. and yes there is some credits stuff first while the credits roll there is a really nice I guess you can say "farewell" video to the 20th Century Fox marvel universe which I thought was really nice.

Then there is a lil funny end credits scene at the very end of the movie.

when my movie theatre watched this basically everyone was stunned. like we started absolutely going wild.

we see sabretooth, pyro (which i’m pretty sure is the same actor from X2), and toad like hello? i already thought this was crazy. anyway sabretooth gets his head sorta sliced off by wolverine (also why isn’t there a yellow font on tumblr?) anyway

we get a fight and they end up getting captured and get driven to CASSANDRA NOVA. LIKE WHAT. SINCE WHEN WAS CASSANDRA NOVA THE VILLAIN sorta OF THIS. BROIOOOOOOO

she brutally murders our beloved johnny storm after wade said he said a bunch of very odd things about her that was hilarious.

fast forward A LOT we were basically given a bunch of plot advancements and all of that stuff but i don’t want this to be super long so imma cut this short

we get four AWESOME CAMEOS.

AND X-23! LAURA YIPPEEEEEEEEEE

we get these awesome cameos and my movie theatre erupted into wild cheers bc we got the same actors from the original blade and x-23. WE GOT GAMBIT WHO IS LEGIT ONE OF MY FAV MUTANTS. WE GOT ELEKTRA LIKE BRO WHAT

AND WE GOT TBHS THING WITH GAMBIT SAYING ABSOLUTE NONSENSE AND DEADPOOL SAYS, “i’m sorry gorgeous, but i feel like we’re missing some critical exposition. who’s your dialect coach, the MINIONS?” AND I ABSOLUTELY LOST IT THAT WAS SO HILARIOUS AHJHAHHAHA

after this they make some plan about how to get logan and wade back to their (sorta) timeline and go ahead to carry it out. we get an epic “final boss” like fight and cassandra shows that she has a sling ring that seems to be from a dr strange variant with pieces of the reality and time stone (i think).

next we get this whole thing with the 100 or so deadpool’s with blake lively and ryan reynolds’ kids as different variants. and they also snuck in a little stan lee cameo there (miss the legend ❤️)

THEN WE SEE PETERPOOOOL WHO ABSOLUTELY SAVED DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE A THOUSAND PERCENT.

we have that whole thing with the time ripper and how if a person goes to stop it the anti matter and matter absolutely would rip them apart. we see deadpool make the hero play after stalling for a bit but he couldn’t reach the other side. THEN WOLVERINE STEPS IN AND DOES IT TOO OML (also i’ve noticed i haven’t talked that much about wolverine BUT I PROMISE I LOVE HIM 😭) we get shirtless hugh jackman and everybody in my movie theatre went wild… again. it was SO FUNNY 🤣. we get a whole ending with b-15 as the tva leader sorta. and paradox getting reprimanded as he should and we for sure thought that they’re dead.

NO THEY ARE NOT. they walk in like the queens they are and then that’s basically the ending.

EXCEPT FOR THE EXTRA CREDIT SCENE. then we see that all the things that deadpool accused johnny of saying before he basically got his skin ripped off WERE ACTUALLY TRUE. WE ALL COLLECTIVELY SAID LANGUAGE BECAUSE OML IVE NEVER SEEN CHRIS EVANS SO DIRTY MOUTHER (not me not understanding half the things that he said-)

ANYWAY I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS MOVIE. IT WAS WORTH IT. i noticed cute little easter eggs and the cameos omg the cameos

my review of deadpool & wolverine

spoilers under the cut!

Overall, I liked it. I'll give it a 7/10.

OK so, I didn't make it through ANY of the Deadpool films w/o falling asleep & not bc I'm narcoleptic. I just got bored, which SUCKS bc Wade's my favorite Marvel character (at least in the comics/other media). I had hopes for this movie only bc of the lead actors' commitment to their characters & bc putting them in what's essentially a buddy cop movie was smart as fuck. At the same time...the MCU hasn't put out a satisfactory movie (aka 1 w/o plot holes or simply disappointing bits) since...maybe Winter Soldier? Eh, I don't remember. ANYWAY!

Considering that I didn't really see Deadpool 3, it was fairly easy for me to understand the beginning. Yes, I was a little confused at first, because I didn't know that he time-traveled & ALSO hopped universes...but I figured it out eventually. I like that they made his motivations 1) saving his found family & 2) wanting to do something worthwhile. That being said, I never wanted Deadpool to have a love interest unless it was maybe Shiklah or Lady Deadpool bc they actually DO "match his crazy" & they're interesting on their own. I also didn't know who "Pete" was until I looked him up, bc MCU!Pete isn't the same as comics!Pete. I'm used to poor fucking Bob from HYDRA 😅

Onto more plot...I knew as soon as that guy introduced himself as "Mr. Paradox", he'd be evil, bc the whole point of time is that you don't want paradoxes (if that wasn't clear). I got confused thinking that Wade was from a different universe than Logan* SO that made me think Wade was his own timeline's anchor being...yeah I realized that wouldn't make sense. The fight scene w/the TVA people was a little long but satisfying, at least in that it was as bloody & creative as a Deadpool fight scene should be.

I got worried when they mentioned The Void, bc I only made it through a few episodes of Loki before I got bored & confused. I can keep comic timelines straight if you let me read through & get to know each Earth individually, but not the way the MCU deals out timeline lore. HOWEVER, it was decent! I already knew about the Johnny cameo (stupid headline spoiler) but I was happy for Chris Evans (especially during the end credits scene) & I liked the Mad Max reference. The end credits scene was especially important bc Deadpool doesn't usually hand people over to be killed unless doing so will prevent HIM from getting into a lot of trouble. He's a merc who WILL & DOES kill, but typically he lets innocent people go.

Fuck Nicepool for being boring (but I think that was the point) & no, I did not like Channing Tatum's Gambit (I know he's from Louisiana but I HOPE that accent was bad on purpose, the headpiece was too chonky & I am loyal to the canon film Gambit *blushes*). That aside, I absolutely loved what we got of Laura, Elektra & Blade. Loved their fight scene, even though it sucked to see them go.

Cassandra Nova was appropriately sociopathic, as per the comics. I kept screaming for them to kill her, bc I KNEW she wasn't gonna turn good all of a sudden, but it made sense why she let them survive. I don't know HOW she can stick her hand into someone's head w/o killing them while they STILL feel pain (or how she didn't die after being stabbed; IDK maybe they're saying she telekinetically healed herself?). I liked how they brought back the Doctor Strange finger-thingy (wait, so does that mean the TVA has a constant problem of amateur magic-users going into different timelines on accident??).

As a comics fan, I was SO EXCITED seeing all the Deadpool variants. There were a bunch of references to Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, which is where (if you don't know) a version of Deadpool is psychically attacked. But instead of being brainwashed, his thought boxes (which act as his companions & consciences) disappear, only for him to realize that he's in a comic. Yes, he usually breaks the 4th wall. The problem is, he reasons that his friends keep suffering for the amusement of our world, so the only way to stop the cycle is to kill all the heroes, THEN kill the people who write the comic. ANYWAY! Killpool (I think that's what he's called) ends up getting confronted by mainstream/Good!Deadpool, who's assembled a Deadpool Corps of AU-Deadpools to fight all of the OTHER recruited Deadpools. Said DPs on the good side include Kidpool, Headpool (zombie head) & Lady Deadpool.

In other words, I rioted upon seeing all these versions who definitely have some cool backstories. When Logan & Wade went through them, I got pissed OFF ("wtf why didn't they heal?"). I thought they were gonna debate needing to kill Babypool (adorable), when everyone started waking up. I also liked how they showed someone growing back limbs, which is important considering the whole regenerative factor.

I do wonder how antimatter reacting w/matter didn't blow up the whole underground + 10005's version of New York or wherever, but there's always a plot hole. Besides, they've had lots of alien attacks. Maybe they build their undergrounds like nuclear bomb shelters.

All in all, 7/10.

*Is this Logan/Wade's universe the Fox movie universe? Bc we saw Captain Marvel's buddy, aka MVP of the shitty CM2, land there...so I assume the Fox universe is fine...but it CAN'T be THIS MOVIE's universe, bc their Logan wouldn't be that old! Also Logan isn't as old as Wade, but I'm pretty sure Wade shouldn't be chronologically just 30...? IDK if that was implied. TL;DR my precious Fox universe is fine. Saw Deadpool & Wolverine today! Not to get overly pretentious but the film is a pretty great meta comedy about how every Marvel film, no matter how bad, had hard work put into it on top of being a final tribute to the often messy Fox Marvel films, something exemplified by [SPOILER WARNING!]

the fact the crossover characters are all from divisive (2005!Johnny Storm), reviled (Elektra), unmade (Channing Tatum Gambit), or troubled franchises (Blade). If they wanted to get crazy fanservice they would have lifted from properties people give a shit about instead of ones dead for decades. It showcases the film’s intent and drives home the message pretty clearly.

The plot is a big light, the sidelining of the Deadpool supporting cast (save for the turbochad Peter) sucks, and if you’re not into gratuitous lampshade hanging or Ryan Reynolds’ comedy you definitely won’t like this, but I definitely think this is a sign the MCU is healing. Those motherfuckers really tried ice skating uphill with this… and I’d say it worked.

Deadpool & Wolverine

A couple things…

1. The amount references and Easter eggs was crazy. Anybody who is that are not familiar with the comics or movies is going to be confused as hell when watching this.

2. In my opinion, the brown Wolverine suit looks better live action than the yellow.

3. Like many of the FOX X-Men movies, this eventually became a wolverine Focus story. Deadpool was the quirky sidekick.

4. Maybe it was a good thing that Channing Tatum’s Gambit solo movie never happened. He was not good playing Gambit.

5. Just make Wesley Snipes the official Blade for the MCU. The man still has it. (Sidenote: Wesley Snipes’s Blade in Deadpool was a meta-reference connected to Ryan Reynolds, Who was in the third Blade movie.)

In conclusion, I liked it. Deadpool & Wolverine was entertaining. Is it the saving Grace for the MCU that everyone says. Even the movie itself makes jokes claiming that it would. I don’t think so. There’s a lot that Marvel Studios needs to do to course correct away disappointment that came from their latest projects. I don’t think a movie like Deadpool 3 that makes the audience act like the Leonardo DiCaprio meme every five seconds is going to be marvel studios’s new Golden goose.

Ohmygod YES I love Channing Tatum as Gambit 💜💜💜😩🤌 Well let me tell you that wearing contact lenses for a long period of time it's pretty uncomfortable( did a cosplay of my original X-Men character who can shift into any big cat! And I made the mistake wearing the contact lenses for a whole day and the next day my eyes were swollen and red ! ) so I get it why they didn't go with the black on red eyes! But still it was very close to the comics! 💜💜💜

MCU X-MEN ROSTER AND PHASE 4 LINEUP PREDICTION:

SABAN’S 90’s CARTOON LIVE ACTION TEAM

For some movie goers the biggest highlight of the recent X-Men franchise was finally seeing most of them dress up in their iconic costumes. In this day and age many still view the Saban 90’s cartoon as one of the best ever and would love to finally just see that on the big screen and definitely remaster the theme music to a kickass movie score! But if there’s one thing both the X-Men and yes even the mighty MCU can benefit from, it’s a recharge in something new and imaginative. I imagine the MCU giving the X-Men their own Phase 1 experience starting with the leader and then assembling them all down the way in the first Marvel Studios X-Men film. If there’s one thing that Simon Kinberg / Bryan Singer got right at this point it is that they should stick more to source material and begin to get away from Professor Xavier, Magneto, and Wolverine arcs since they’ve been the primary stories from the beginning. Their Phase 1 should allow to introduce the ‘just as well known’ X-Men who didn’t get to be highlighted just yet:

Solo Films In Order:

Scott Summers aka Cyclops - Synonymous with being the leader of the X-Men. Establish the character as someone worth following and showcase him as the hero that he truly is. Imagine an end credit scene of Professor X reaching out to him about starting a Team at the School for the Gifted.

Ororo Munroe aka Storm - A literal goddess who’s been extremely downplayed thus far. Explore her history and what would bring her to join up at a school.

Hank McCoy aka Beast - Genius turned monster. Sound familiar? He also has crazy ability and should be able to showcase that badassery.

Remy LeBeau aka Gambit - I mean hopefully not Channing Tatum though we didn’t really get the chance to see. Honestly I thought Taylor Kitsch did a great job as is. The heartthrob with a very dangerous past, is a long overdue film.

X-Men Team Up: When we finally bring the team together under Professor X not as an active leader but more of the team’s benefactor and mentor (like your Nick Fury). I would also reintroduce Jean Grey as a teacher who does not go out on missions just yet (like Maria Hill) and the younger students Rogue and Jubilee.

Effectively they would be the new leads of the franchise. But get into the mains’ similarities. Cyclops the leader as Captain America, Storm as Thor the powerhouse, Beast the brains of Banner and the bronze like the Hulk (but nowhere close really), and then Gambit the playboy but actual team player like Iron Man. They join up to make a pretty great team without highlighting Jean, Wolverine or even the villains like Magneto and Mystique just yet. I believe you bring in a new Wolverine in the second X-Men film but keep him as a complementary character not always working well with the team, but always carrying about his X-Family, and then riding off on his own simply because Hugh Jackman left enormous claw marks to fill and there will be constant comparisons. But Cyclops, Storm, Beast, Gambit should be the mains. Rogue and Jubilee like your Black Widow and Hawkeye. With teams you have to know who the clear cut narratives are and maybe hope for spinoffs for the smaller characters. All in all, the X-Men can come back in a big nostalgic, and justifiable way in a final reboot at home in the MCU.

Connecting to the MCU:

An eventual crossover with the Avengers is only appropriate. Much like the cartoon series, a mutant community is finally revealed publicly due to conflict, in a movie standpoint I would do between conflicting mutant sides. You can speculate and ask why the likes of SHIELD or HYDRA even didn’t know about this entire underground community, but like any shadow society it is only known when it comes to light. Why didn’t they help when the Earth was invaded? For the fact that many were not “trained” is a good reason, alongside that they simply valued their secrecy more. Sounds alike like an Agents of SHIELD Inhumans arc? Any secret organization arc, really. But take into account that unlike the MCU’s big bang of Inhumans needing to be triggered, the X-Gene simply is be a constant around the world with mutants changing and becoming runaways or exiled, and then falling into the folds of this hidden world. Again, these are stories we all already know and have seen portrayed. The difference now is following the narratives and I believe those leads are the best to follow.

Fox Announces Release Dates for Six Untitled Marvel Movies.

Fox have recently disclosed six dates through to 2021 for their Marvel movie line up, being as follows: June 7th 2019, November 22nd 2019, March 13th 2020, June 26th 2020, October 2nd 2020 and March 5th 2021. Owning the astonishing X-Men, the infamous Fantastic 4, and fan favourite Deadpool, I’ve compiled a list of what could be Fox’s best bets for these six releases.

1. Deadpool 3

The surprise monumental blockbuster of 2016 had a stellar marketing campaign that got audiences into cinemas to witness a hilarious, original, action packed superhero movie delivering on all it promised. Currently the highest grossing R Rated movie of all time, it is safe to say that one of these slots could be reserved for Mr Wilson.

2. New Mutants Sequel

X-Men: New Mutants is currently in production, releasing in 2018, and a sequel around 2020 is very plausible, especially with the great castings thus far.  

3. X-Men: Dark Phoenix Sequel

Should Dark Phoenix (2018) do well, a fifth instalment set in the 2000’s could finally introduce the iconic villain Mister Sinister and could even set up the original X Men movie.

4. Gambit

Originally set for a 2016 release, with Channing Tatum to star as the titular character, it currently has no director, and no script. However, a lot could be happening behind the scenes, Fox know what a popular character he is so it’s still a possibility.

5. Fantastic 4 ... (2)?

If this is the case, I pray to the One-Above-All that this is another reboot, and more so that it’s a good one. Although, I wouldn’t put it past Fox for them to want to continue the absolute train wreck, embarrassing disaster that was Fant4stic (2015).

6. Something crazy and unknown

Perhaps it would benefit Fox to pull something out that’s never been done before. Similar to what Guardians of the Galaxy was to the MCU, perhaps Fox should take a risk on an unknown property.

Regardless of what these movies turn out to be, this announcement does excite me to know that Fox aren’t planning to halt production any time soon. The Fox-Marvel movies have been nothing short of a generally good mixed bag of movies, but with recent additions like Deadpool and Logan, I’m excited to see what else the studio has in store for us.
