I have seen auditions of others for the role in The Myth, they now lie about them. Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat will soon be seen on the silver screen as she is now promoting her upcoming film RK/Rkay. During a recent interview, Mallika spilled the beans on her journey in Bollywood and her break to work in an international film with Jackie Chan's Chinese Film the Myth in 2005. She also revealed that while working with Jackie, she saw the tapes of other actors from Bollywood who had auditioned for the role.

Mahesh Bhatt’s film Murder gave Mallika the fame and name she enjoyed for quite some time. Later, she was seen against Jackie Chan in her international debut movie The Myth.

Talking about the time she went for the auditions for The Myth, Mallika said, “I got the role via audition and I am very proud to say that he auditioned every actress in Bollywood. So, all these actresses jo chui mui bann ke kehti hain ‘hum toh kabhi audition nahi karti' woh sab jhooth bol rahi hain (So all these female actors who claim that they never went for the audition are lying). I have seen their auditions. Jackie showed me their audition tapes. They loved me. They loved my fitness because I do a lot of yoga. I have a flexible body."

Mallika also talked about Jackie Chan and said that he is a wonderful person.  “He is a great guy. Very wonderful, helpful. He opened doors for me in Hollywood. He supported me. When I got Myth, I decided to do all the action for the film but that was the worst decision of my life.”

Mallika is now busy promoting her upcoming film RK/RKay, which also stars Rajat Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey, Manu Rishi Chadha, Chandrachoor Rai, Abhijeet Deshpande, Abhishek Sharrma, Grace Girdhar, and Vaishali Malhara in important roles.

There is a Diwali party going on in Sunil’s (Ranvir Shorey) house when an uncle played by Manoj Pahwa and an aunt (Yamini Das) walk in the house unannounced with a pollution mask on their faces. They are wearing the mask not due to the current situation but for reasons like keeping germs away, for a nose that can smell malodorous and their highly evolved sense of smell.  A lot is happening at Sunil’s home and party. The food served to the guests has become rotten. A french reader Francoise Marie or Kalki Koechlin can sense something unusual when she visits Sunil and Malti’s (Mansi Multani) home. When the movie starts, we notice a stranger Raghav featuring Chandrachoor Rai walking in the house when things are being arranged at the party. Raghav’s entry makes things upside down.  Although many friends come together for merriment we find location containment in the movie. Filmmaker Rajat Kapoor, however, maintains the sense of movement which emerges from the nicely gliding camera and individual energies of characters along with interaction between characters who are playing the roles.  There is an interpersonal fluidity as the screenplay moves from ravelry to skirmishes to drunken brawls. The actors are in individually great form in their bonds, arguments and fights. The actors are at ease and sync in their give and take with each other.
