The Olympians I'm the Dungeon Master of a Graeco-roman inspired dnd campaign called Champions of Olympia!
Commissions
The Chthonic Gods
I decided to do artwork for all the gods for my players. For this, I did a ton of research of the Greek mythology with some extra Roman add-ons since the campaign focuses on gladiators and the Coloseum. I also drew inspiration from Stray Gods, Hades, God of War, Hadestown and some YouTube channels who discuss Greek myths.

I feel Diantha, Wikstrom, and Drasna are way too young with the ages these gave, but I feel most of these are probably fairly early concepts. Furthering this, if the translation is anywhere near accurate, Malva initially looked very different, being a blonde in a white, red, and blue dress, and Clemont was a brunette (which funnily enough, his father from the anime ended up having brown hair.)
But I really like that Siebold had lunch with Lysandre and Sycamore before (separate occasions or did he kinda third wheel on a lunch date?), and how they talk about how people are surprised with the difference between the calm personality Malva has when she's reporting the news, and her violent, true personality.

Not gonna lie, I feel kinda dirty making this post but fuck it. What's tumblr for if not sharing our dirty thoughts? So here is a list of the (in my opinion) hottest (adult) female characters from every Pokémon region in order of generation.
Kanto - Lorelei
Red hair and glasses . . . I'm starting to think I might be a bit of a narcissist. Either way, between that and custom business attire, not to mention the cool (ha) yet kind demeanor and this ice queen is definitely at the top of the Kanto charts.
Johto - Karen
She uses my favorite type and gives fantastic advice for non competitive players, our second elite 4 entry with the unfortunate name stands tall over the rest of her region.
Hoenn - Shelly (gen 3)
Okay, even if I'm not narcissistic I at least have a thing for red heads. Probably why I picked Shelly's original design over her design in gen 6. To be fair though, I do have a preference for simpler character design. Plus nothings better on a villainess than those fiery red eyes.
Sinnoh - who are we kidding of course it's Cynthia
Do I even need to explain why? Do I really?
Unova - Fennel
I'll admit, this was a tough one but probably not for the reason you might think. To be honest, none of the female characters in Unova really stood out to me. That is until I remembered this adorable ball of enthusiasm and questionable use of musharna's dream gas.
Kalos - Olympia
Okay so some people might be mad that I put a forgettable gym leader on this list rather than Diantha but hear me out: space goddess. That is all.
Alola - Olivia
Was this even a question? Yes and it was a fucking hard one! I mean between Plumeria, Wicke, and Lusamine? Damn myself for only allowing myself to pick one per region!
Galar - Mommy- sorry, Mommy-
Mommy- sorry, mommy- sorry, mommy- sorry, mommy-
Hisui - Cyllene
What, you thought I would have picked Cogita? I thought Cynthia was already on this list? Besides, I still need to get back at Cyrus. You hear that edge lord?! I'm in your ancestry, sucker!
Paldea - Raifort
She's tall, she's smart, she's vaguely evil and I got "will betray me" vibes in every conversation with her and I kinda dig that.

Fun fact: if you take on the Paldean Gym Leaders in the objectively best order (which I didn’t in either version oh well) the genders of each pair of Kalos Gym Leader and Paldean Gym Leader are the same in each version - the first (Viola and Katy), third (Korrina and Iono), sixth (Valerie and Ryme) and seventh (Olympia and Tulip) gym leaders are female and the second (Grant and Brassius), fourth (Ramos and Kofu), fifth (Clemont and Larry) and eighth (Wulfric and Grusha) gym leaders are male. In addition, out of the five pairs of gym leaders between Kalos and Paldea where they share a type, three of them are in the same spot based on this order (Bug-type Gym Leaders Viola and Katy are first, Psychic-type Gym Leaders Olympia and Tulip are seventh and Ice-type Gym Leaders Wulfric and Grusha are eighth). And as a bonus the second gym leaders both have cool hair that matches their types well. And the Grass and Electric gym leaders are always next to each other in that order plus the Grass Gym Leaders are among the oldest gym leaders of their region (Ramos almost certainly, Brassius probably younger than Ryme and maybe Kofu) and the Electric Gym Leaders are among the youngest gym leaders of their region (Clemont is around the same age as Viola, Grant and maybe Korrina but probably the youngest between them, Iono definitely). Oh yeah also the Psychic cities both begin with A and the Electric cities both begin with L
The first fact means that both regions have an equal gender ration for their gym leaders. In addition, they both also have equal gender rations for their Elite Four members (I believe they’re the only regions where both of these are true all the time so far though I might be forgetting something. Alola and Galar automatically don’t count because Alola doesn’t have Gym Leaders and Galar doesn’t have an Elite Four. Kanto, Hoenn and Unova are also probably excluded because they all change their lineup at some point (although it doesn’t change the gender ratio in Hoenn but then they also have Tate and Lisa so that overcomplicates stuff too. It also doesn’t change the overall gender ratio in Kanto but it does change the individual ones for Gym Leaders and Elite Four members)) although only the first and third members line up if you take on the Kalos Elite Four in order. Also both regions have female champions (and the only reason the fandom doesn’t consider either to be their least favourite is because no one can remember Trace 😭 justice for Diantha, Geeta and Trace! And by that I mean from the fandom, not Game Freak. It’s not Diantha’s fault she was too busy to beat Team Flare and kick them out of Kalos for good, Geeta’s fault she decided to make her ace a Pokémon that should be sent out as soon as possible just because she loves it so much or Trace’s fault he doesn’t want to get himself and you imprisoned for starting a physical fight only to plead innocent so only the player gets locked up (yeah this is something I think RGBY era Blue would do)) and because Larry takes a spot as both a Gym Leader and a member of the Elite Four that means Kalos has a slightly more even gender ratio for its league overall but both have more women than men. Additional fun fact (yep, I love comparing Kalos and Paldea and PLZA just gives me a bigger excuse to do it) - Kalos makes you take on the Gym Leaders in order but allows you to take on the Elite Four in any order while Paldea allows you to take on the Gym Leaders in any order but makes you take on the Elite Four in order. Oh yeah also there’s a Steel-type Elite Four member in both regions and both regions end their Elite Four with a Dragon-type trainer
#how do i tag this#gym leader viola#gym leader katy#gym leader grant#gym leader brassius#gym leader korrina#gym leader iono#gym leader ramos#gym leader kofu#gym leader clemont#gym leader larry#gym leader valerie#gym leader ryme#gym leader olympia#gym leader tulip#gym leader wulfric#gym leader grusha#I think I also have to tag the elite four and champions from both regions because I spent a lot of time talking about them#well I didn’t mention any of the Elite Four by name (except Larry but he doesn’t count)#so I don’t think I need to tag them bc it just clogs up tags#but I will tag the champions#champion diantha#champion geeta#luckily all I had to do was type in champion and tumblr knew the champions I wanted to tag in the order I wanted to tag them#honestly whoever’s in charge of the anime should take Z-A as an excuse to do some big arc involving the Kalos and Paldean leagues meeting#pokémon#this post keeps getting longer as I think up more fun facts#long post#ive never used that tag before but it is undeniably a long post#sure it’s only two paragraphs but those are some long paragraphs

So umm…somehow I ended up making a VERY bizarre crossover between gen 1-5 and Vanguard
It started off as the random thought of what if Link Joker was in Pokémon and things spiraled out of control after that.
For those not in the know Link Joker is essentially like the Evil Dead but rated E. Basically, it’s like a supernatural infection where if you loses to a reverse fighter in a battle then you become reversed. If a reverse fighter loses then they are freed. It’s like some sort of contract whenever you fight a reverse fighter. You’re staking your soul and freedom to save someone from it. The entity behind this is known as the Void which is putting its essence in people and taking them over. They retain their intelligence (for instance reverse fighters are smart enough to hide that they’re reversed) and parts of their personality. However, their personality is warped. Much like Vanguard when you lose your deck or in this case Pokémon team gets reversed too. They don’t really know this at first though and have to find this out 😅.
As for how reverse Pokémon would function I kinda imagine them like a combination of some sort of evil regional variants and shadow Pokémon.
The reverse units themselves would be UBs along with the Void itself.
So, takes place 3 years after DPPT & HGSS it starts with Olympia having an ominous premonition about Link Joker’s arrival. In preparation she tries to gather the Lake Trio to use against the threat. However, she ends up getting blindsided by Chaos Breaker Dragon. Link Joker literally was able to take over a guy who had a book that could tell him about any possible future so precognition won’t save her.
So, she is defeated and taken over then becomes Link Joker agent much like Takuto. The agent seems to be like the Void’s representative kinda (Vanguard doesn’t explain things well okay). Anyway, if the agent loses then the everyone is freed. Nice, right 🙂? However…whoever beats the agent has the seed of Link Joker enter them which will eventually resurrect Link Joker and make them the new agent. So…not good.
With the protags Lucas was actually the office assistant and Dawn was the protagonist of DPPT. Also Dawn’s in the 1800s rn which honestly is a blessing in disguise considering what’s going to happen 😅. Lucas misses his friend and feels like kinda a fraud. Like his friends saved the world and he’s just like an office assistant. After Dawn went missing he’s been trying to get stronger to pick up the slack and keep Sinnoh safe. He’s been working with Looker off and on and finally got around to getting all eight gym badges.
Ethan is currently in Sinnoh training to get stronger after actually losing to Red. At this point the dude seriously has like 32 gym badges. He’s completed the Hoenn league to train and is on Sinnoh now. He ends up befriending the depressed Lucas and helps him gain some more confidence in himself and helps him get better at battling. Of course he’s having some of his own confidence issues that he won’t share after losing to Red. He has basically forcibly adopted Lucas. He needs it honestly. His dad is Professor Sycamore who is lite too stupid to live as himself without divine intervention. After getting Cynthiaed Lucas and Ethan are having a talk. Then, suddenly Red appears leaving Ethan stunned. He can tell that something is different about him, he has a strange creature with him and he’s acting bizarrely animated. Ethan ends up losing and getting reversed which leaves Lucas sadder, confused, and alone. Cynthia and the Elite Four appear and help Lucas get away.
Brandon has just kinda chilled out and is focused on becoming a rescue worker, he hasn’t actually battled in 6 years. Yes, he’s pulled a Gohan but unlike Gohan he gets it through his skull that he needs to keep training after this happens. He’s still in Hoenn and has absolutely no idea what is about to happen. If he didn’t have trust issues before then he’s going to gain them😅. Brendan is heading home one day as he just starts to notice that something is off but everything seems normal enough. He just thinks he’s being paranoid. He finds his dad being an asshole and is challenged to a battle but his dad is always an ass so he doesn’t notice 🤣. Like my brother in Arceus he put is son in the back on the moving truck with the luggage. You cannot convince me that he’s a good father.
However, he slowly starts to realize he’s in a horror movie. This culminates in him having to battle everyone in Little Root town and having the most desperate battle of his life against reversed May. So, this gives him the wake up call he needed to get back in the game. He becomes determined to find whoever caused this, starts training again, and searches around Hoenn for them. Steven ends up arriving soon after to tell Brandon what’s going on. Essentially the reverse was originally isolated to Sinnoh with it being kept secret to prevent a worldwide panic. However, it seemed one reverse fighter slipped through Hoenn’s defenses.
One important detail to mention is that he released Rayquaza after the game mostly because Rayquaza is a being that performs an important function in protecting to ozone layer and he felt that it wasn’t right to keep Rayquaza for that reason. He gets Rayquaza back later though while Rayquaza and Zygarde are hunting down Link Joker units. I thought that Zygarde should actually do its job so it is😅.
Hilbert is on the other side of the world chilling at Blueberry Academy in the Terrarium and he couldn’t be happier. He has literally no idea that any of this is happening. This is an after he’s beaten N and Ghetsis but hasn’t beaten the Elite Four yet or set out to find N. He appears way later after Alder lets it slip that something weird is happening over in Japan.
Cliff notes version:
Here’s their teams:
Note: Ethan and Hilbert do have Lugia and Zekrom. These are just the versions of their teams without them AKA their casual not saving the world teams. Like let’s be real do you think they’re going to use a Pokémon that could destroy a continent or the world on a normie? This isn’t following game scaling it’s following lore scaling. That’s like using a hydrogen bomb against a coughing baby. That would just be cruel😅. Latios is weaker so Brendan can get away with it. Also I have my own unique idea for the legendaries that make them more god-like and a bit more balanced at the same time but that’s a discussion for another post.
I will talk about the girls in part 2 because I don’t have enough image space left in this post.

Olympia: Diantha, Steven. You do not have to worry about Ash regarding the Kalos Crisis.
Diantha: W-what are you talking about?
Olympia: He's in the Alola Region right now. Safe and sound. I can see that he's living a good life like a normal boy at his age.
Steven: Oh, thank goodness....
Olympia: And by the way, prepare yourselves. Champion Lance of Kanto and Johto caught wind of the incident.
Steven: Oh.....
Diantha & Steven: THATS WORSE-

Fixing Kalos gym leaders & elite 4
It's no secret that Pokemon X and Y are very easy games and part of the reason is that the bosses are pretty underwhelming. So as a thought experiment, I decided to examine how to power them up my upgrading their teams. I think that the gym leaders should showcase the new Pokemon and gimmicks of their region, so I'll be taking that into account. I also want all the leavers and E4 to have a proper 6-member postgame rematch team so I'll be doing those too. I will be restricting my choices of Pokemon to those available in X and Y.
First is Viola, the bug-type leader. 2 Pokemon is a good team size for a first gym leader as they're the introduction to gyms for new players. I think Viola's team is alright for a first gym. Surskit prevents you from sweeping with a fire-type (possibly the first and only time in the franchise a Surskit has been useful) and Vivillon to showcase the regional bug is good. If you want to upgrade her, swapping Surskit for Dwebble would serve the same purpose, but arguably be better at it. It could also have a ground-type move to keep players from sweeping with Pikachu. For her rematch team she can keep Vivillon, but will not be keeping Masquerain as two mediocre bug-flying types is not great for a rematch team. Her rematch team will be Vivillon, Crustle (who can set up stealth rocks to counter flying types), Escavalier (as a good bug/steel type who gets overshadowed by Scizor), Heracross, Scolipede, and Mega Pinsir. By the postgame, all the rematch teams can safely have a mega-evolving ace.
Next is Grant, the rock-type leader. His team is really cool with it being the two Kalos fossils. Two members is a bit weak given how long you have to play to get to his gym, so he'll get a third member. In keeping with the fossil theme, this third Pokemon will be Aerodactyl, who is also available to players by this point in the game. His postgame team will be Auroros, Tyrantrum, Aggron, Barbaracle (to counter ground-types), Tyranitar, and Mega Aerodactyl.
The third gym leader is Korrina the fighting-type leader. Her in-game team is notorious for being sweepable by any ghost type as only her Machoke has a move that isn't either normal or fighting type. That needs to change. Her Hawlucha can stay, but I'm swapping her Machoke out for a Pangoro to counter ghosts and to showcase a gen VI fighting-type. Her ace will be a mega-evolving Lucario. This fits with the story as Korrina is the one who introduces the player to mega evolution and streamlines the game by having her show mega evolution to you in her gym battle instead of a separate battle that is incredibly easy to win. Her rematch team will be Hawlucha, Pangoro, Toxicroak, No Guard Machoke, Pure Power Medicham, and Mega Lucario.
Next is Ramos, the grass-type leader. At this point I'm going to ignore the fact that X and Y only let gym leaders have 3 Pokemon. By this point in the game, players can handle more of a challenge. I'm going to evolve his Weepinell to Victreebel and have it act as a poison spikes and leech seed setter. Then he'll have Trevenant, Ludicolo (to counter fire-types), and his ace will be Mega Venusaur. His rematch team will be Victreebel, Ferrothorn, Ludicolo, Rotom Mow, Chesnaught, and Mega Venusaur.
Clemont, the electric-type leader is next. I think his canon team isn't that bad. I'll keep Magneton and Heliolisk, swap his Emolga for a Lanturn, and his ace will be Mega Ampharos. For his rematch team he will have Magnezone, Heliolisk, Lanturn, a Rotom that will change type randomly each rematch, Jolteon, and Mega Ampharos.
Valarie was pretty lame for being the gym leader to showcase the brand-new fairy type. Let's fix that. She can keep Mr. Mime and lead with it to set up screens. She can also keep Sylveon as it was the face of the fairy type. Then she'll have Florges and her ace will be Mega Mawile. Her rematch team will be Mr. Mime, Sylveon, Florges, Huge Power Azumarill, Klefki, and Mega Mawile.
The Psychic-type leader Olymoia has a really cool gym design, but she's no Sabrina in terms of difficulty. She can keep her Sigilyph, but the rest of her team will change. She will have Contrary Malamar, Alakazam, and Mega Medicham. Her rematch team will be Contrary Malamar, Gardevoir, Alakazam, Starmie, Sigilyph, and Mega Medicham.
Ice as a late-game gym leader tye is always a hard sell and Wulfric is no Candice. I'm going to increase his team to five and give him Cloyster, Mamoswine, Weavile, Avalugg, and mega Abomasnow. His rematch team will add Jynx to that lineup.
The elite four will all have their teams increase to five members and will all get a mega evolution for their ace.
Malva's team is not bad, but it could be better. She can keep her Torkoal and have it use Sunny day for setup (Torkaol didn't get Drought as an ability yet) and she can keep her Chandelure and get Gale Wings on her Talonflame. Her team will then include Rotom heat and Mega Charizard X. Her rematch team will add a Delphox to all that.
Siebold is probably the only really challenging member of the Kalos E4. I also really like the theme of edible animals in his team and want to keep that around, so the only change I'll make is adding a Mega Blastoise as his ace for a final team of Clawitzer, Starmia, Barbaracle, Gyarados, and Blastoise. His rematch team will then get a Greninja.
Wikstrom's team is also pretty good. I'll swap his Probopass out for a Bisharp and give him Mega Aggron. I will swap his Aegislash for Magnezone as I'm going to use Aegislash later and don't want to double-up for the E4. His final team is Klefki, Bisharp, Scizor, Magnezone, and Aggron. His rematch team will give him back Aegislash.
Drasna's team doesn't need much work either. I'll swap her Altaria for a Kingdra and Druddigon for Haxorus, Keep Dragalge and Noivern, and give her Mega Garchomp as an ace. Her rematch team will add Salamence.
Diantha was infamous as one of the weaker champions until Geeta came along. I do like that most of her team are new Pokemon and will keep that in mind. Her Mega Gardevoir ace can stay, as can Goodra and Hawlucha. From there I'll add Contrary Malamar and Aegislash. As for her 6th team member, I might cheat a bit and give her Zygarde 10% form. The Zygarde 10 and 100% forms didn't debut in the games until gen VII, but their appearance in the anime showed that they were already planned out and likely would have showed up in the cancelled Pokemon Z. This could be the player's first introduction to Zygarge and could lead into a postgame sidequest to get Zygarge 50% with Diantha's help. If you don't want to use Zygarde 10%, then Greninja would also work.
Let me know what you thought of these revised teams. I may also do this for some other generations (I have thoughts about a revised Geeta team)

have some more villain au stuff hahaha
In that lil ending where Diantha won and made Iris her successor and such, imagine if that's how Iris actually finds out abt the predictions tho
Like maybe she's also doing a lil survey and such w the Gym Leaders, and not like Diantha would actually replace them, they've been so loyal to her, but ofc it's just smth she lets Iris do so she wouldn't be bored or anything
And just, she got to Anistar, watching over Olympia and her battle, and it's all going well yknow, the challenger lost, and Olympia is there watching em leave, and yknow it's all cool w Iris, she was abt to leave too, then Olympia stops her, saying "the queen's successor, your visit reminded me.. how she would watch me."
"what..?"
"she was just so young.. then I saw her own future, so dreary and bleak."
"you.. you knew this was going to happen?"
"yes, I sadly do. Yet I've done nothing to help. We had so much faith."
"..."
"Princess of Kalos, on behalf of everyone, forgive us our sins."
"...you knew.. you knew this was gonna happen. You all knew, didn't you?"
"I apologize. The faith we placed onto her.. became her downfall."
"you could've stopped her."
"she could've killed us—"
"she was just a child!" Iris yelled, her own heartbeat quickened, all of this, all of the death and destruction, it all could've been prevented from the start. "She was a child when you saw her future and you didn't help her change it?!"
"..my dearest princess.. destiny is powerful.. her fate has been set."
"no.. it wasn't. Her fate wasn't set in stone, you all knew, you psychics knew, and instead of helping her you left her and shunned her and pushed her into becoming monster she is now." And God yknow it was all too much for Iris, to hear all of that from Olympia, to hear how a lot of people already knew, already saw so many warning signs, and yet they had so much faith in a child that they believe would be the hope of their region. But that was it ig, Diantha was just a child during all that, a child, and they knew what's gonna happen to her but they had so much goddamn faith in a child to overcome that darkness by herself. Only for that child to be consumed by it, and now it's too late to salvage any light that's left within her.
God imagine how pissed Iris would be tho, that she had to witness the deaths of so many of her closest friends and family, and it all could've been prevented if the people of Kalos just didn't see their Champion as someone who was shackled to a future that they could've changed.
#anyways holy shit#so i read that olympia speaks in haikus#so offc i had to keep the brand cndmdn#and like yeah i couldve just made her talk normally or whatevs#but then again where would be the fun in that hahaha#ah anyways#if iris hated the kalosian peeps before damn she hates them even more now hahah#like homegirl really found out abt how they all knew this was gonna happen to dia#and they did nothing#like thatll mess a mfer up hahah#villain champions au

tossing up the idea of making olympia's father an elven/eladrin aasimar just to heighten her god-touched heritage
#oc tag#ch: olympia#like he was raised among eladrin society in the feywild which is why he later becomes envoy to the material plane for the fey courts#her mother is still a high elven noble who married into his family#so technically olympia is still a full blooded elf#but definitely has some interesting godly/celestial heritage about her#maybe her dad's direct descendent was a solar and steward of lathander???#which is why generations later lathander decides to bestow his daughter (olympia) with his blessing as his champion#this also means her dad could have some cool gold skin / feathers and would explain why people sometimes think oly is glowing#having him be an eladrin aasimar would also tie in the whole “rumoured descendent of queen titania” thing i originally wanted to go with#basically everyone wants whatever olympia's family has going LOL#are they related to the gods? or the fey queen of summer? or angels? who knows but we all want whatever it is they're having#anyway that's my 2 cents for this weekend
