We were wondering where Yato's mask went in the Kirin alt but it was there all along, we just had to enable animation bones. Also the first thing that came to mind when finding Kirin Yato's animation unlimited boner works was the fucking ULTRA engineered and overmodeled Amogus drip sneakers that had like a trillion fucking triangles and looked solid even in the wireframe view fjigwjg4i

@cerastes
I would wholeheartedly recommend it!
Id only give the “warning” that it’s the first part of an ongoing series, but all aside from that:
The black and white art direction and the Abbey Full Of Nuns setting is what got me hooked into it. Due to being the first part, it sets up the setting, the Mystery and the dynamics between characters, the latter of which is the strongest point in my opinion.
The main character of Hedwig (I LOVE HER A LOT) is a former Anchoress who had No contact with the outside world in her whole life, her suddenly being thrown into a den of Friends (?!) with the secret duty of investigating the Mystery while having Absolutely 0 Clue of how to handle relationships make for incredibly tense dialogue scenes even when it’s the most casual chitchat. I’m deeply in love with her narration and how… Intriguing, this oomfie is. She would have made numbers if she had a tumblr blog.
Meanwhile the other Nuns are a little… odd. They do Nun Things but they also are complex women with their own history and relationship to the Nun Life and what they make of it. And this tends to throw Hedwig off balance a LOT.
But look at them. You trust them. You agree. You reblog.

There’s also the trope of “character whose impact on the narrative is all encompassing and indelible even though they were gone from the narrative before it even started” which i love fondly and that this VN exploits as much as possible.
It’s also fairly short, I’ve finished it in a few evenings! So yeah, I’d definitely recommend giving it a look.

If this is a pain to actually answer, feel free to ignore it, but I do wish to know if you know any other parts of the EN translation that have been less than faithful to the source material when it comes to Arknights, to the point an important narrative beat or bit of characterization is muddled or outright different? I saw the recent addition you made to a post regarding Dossoles, in which the original text more or less affirmed that Ch'en knew about the whole bodies in Lungmen issue with Lin, whereas the EN text effectively made it seem as if Ch'en was still in the dark, which is a rather grave change. I was wondering if there were any other of those that you personally know of, speaking strictly of the game script (as opposed to erroneous beliefs due to shoddy fan translations of CN content, such as the misstep I had with Qiubai at one point, which you so kindly corrected). Thanks in advance!
Today I found out that the second half of Rat King's 'Ssh. Heaven knows' line is more obvious (?ymmv) in the CN/JP lines
EN: Besides, when you knew we would— CN: Besides, isn't it (precisely) because you knew we would do it that you— JP: Besides, you knew that we would do this...
So I guess it does make sense why EN people are like ???
and yeah I have a few here that I should really make a loc tag or something although half the time i'm just whining about nuance loss or something minor to most
Lappland has like….a bunch I think but ATM the one that comes to mind is this part in her Archive File 3
In fact, she seems to be taking some degree of pleasure in Texas playing hard-to-get, as it were.
is more like
She intentionally keeps to Texas' pace and relishes the ambiguous (more literally: not close or distant) relationship that they have.
Gavial and Tomimimi's dynamic
Hoshiguma in bagpipe's record (personally most egregious)
Swire's profile:
Tumblr media
Just took this from the fandom wiki because I kind of contributed that
And like two lines they changed, 1 good, 1 that didn't need to be changed because it lost the nuance (imo)

An old illustration from the 500s depicting an unnamed stonian cerastes. This is one of few images of a stonian ever made before their mysterious disappearance.
Stonians are the rarest and most mysterious of all cerastes, with only one known living individual in existence. They are huge, heavy-shelled, and strong cerastes with little to no arcane prowess. The only known living stonian is one that has taken on a bipedal form, though previous reports of stonians imply that they used to take on draconic forms.
They are born with one eye that, like mandrakes, detaches as they age. However, they seem to see through it using what little arcane connection they have, rather than a mycelium connection. Stonians are reported to only have one biological sex, being an asexually reproducing species that replicate using their own glass-like eyes.
Stonians get their names from their thick and brick-tough outer shells, which often incorporate pressure-baked clay and rock instead of packed earth. This extra weight makes them slow, but strong.

Imagine having to cross past the rain of nukes provided by Horn just to get fucking pummeled by Mountain/shredded by Blaze if you manage to get through.
Also if you have Goldenglow with S3 and put Horn nearest to your exit the enemies don't exist past Horn's area, it's like an arcane portal to oblivion made of gunpowder and lightning

@cerastes Yeah!! Thanks for all the advice, time streaming, and of course, the precious Sankta herself! Also, I get your contempt for The Last Knight, his map is garbage. I got him down to 30% before he just smashed apart a buffed Gladiia and Specter.

@cerastes oh no worries!! i'm actually OK to answer this because maybe the key is that i'm doing something wrong and knowing how to fix it might make it enjoyable for me again.
More of a "circumstances" cause than what i was expressing in the post, but right now is more a problem of space and time. I live with my parents and I have a problem with the volume of my voice and since i tend to prefer streaming late at night i find it impossible to be comfortable unless i'm guaranteed to be home alone. I could have streamed more when I was in my apartment in Paris, but it is what it is. So, if i ever change my mind, it would be after i solve this problem!
Maintaining a schedule is a difficult, especially since i tend to be more of a "fuck around and decide what to do on instant T". I could be more of a "guerilla streamer" where I don't stick to a schedule (like i did in the past) and stream whatever i want, whenever i want.
I don't really know if I can bring a community and it impacts my self esteem to not really know how to draw people in because (continued in next point)
Overall, I do not consider myself to be an interesting person to watch. I have a bit of an "identity crisis" where I try to perform but also want to be myself and I overall feel very uncomfortable. I know my bit is my Antagonizing Relationship With Chat (which i do love and appreciate because, despite having a bit of paradoxical issues with "joke trashtalking", i am conscious that this is The Bit like pro wrestling. i actually love it haha), but I also feel there's eyes watching my every action and that if i don't do something Funny, people will lose interest. And the paradox is that this fear just manifests in me... not speaking, being confused, having trouble finding my words and thinking "god, i'm making a fool out of myself" and just thinking of excuses i can make to end the stream to stop embarrassing myself. My last streaming experiences last year was just that all the time. I really wish I could fix this.
Maybe the problem is that I haven't found my niche as a streamer, since it takes time and effort + trial and error, and that i need to actually find out what i like.
And there's also the fact that, in the end, video games are a hobby for me and streaming them brings a totally different experience. There's good and bad aspects of this. The Super Castlevania IV streams were my ultimate favourite experience because everyone made it so fun, whereas i ended up disliking streaming a certain game i used to like a lot because i kept getting backseated. I don't know how to express it, maybe "i don't like the pressure of monetizing my hobby" (without the monetizing aspect and more of the "dedicate to the bit" aspect of it). But that's a non-problem in the end because the pros outweighs the cons, so Perish the Thought.
Writing all that down was actually a good idea, because i externalized the struggle i felt about streaming (whenever i feel like i want to stream something i always kill the thought thinking "you're not interesting. don't do that. remember your last streams?"). I actually wrote this vent post after someone asked me enthusiastically if i'd be streaming the new Pizza Tower update, which made me kind of bummed because i would love to do it if there wasn't all this struggle i just listed (+ the time constraint because "you have to stream the hot new game NOW" although i have made it clear in the past that i do not vibe with that school of thought), and in that i feel like i've let down the few people who do appreciate me streaming...
So in the end, it's all that. But writing this made me a bit more hopeful I can enjoy this again...! If i make the effort, I can do this!

While more than likely a result of whispers and embellishments of what is nowadays known as the desert horned viper, this remains a legendary serpent of Greek legend.
