#Ceph is my Splatoon OC

So, it was the Grand Run in Splatoon 3 last weekend, and it was definitely the most fun I've had playing Splatoon (despite how stressful the mode is XD). Somehow, on a shift with randos, this happened:

Safe to say there was a surprisingly good amount of team coordination there (and it was likely just that I got carried; I may play Salmon Run less casually than all the rest of Splatoon ('cause I actually enjoy it) but I'm definitely no pro player)

Now that my splatfest retrospective series is over, I want to talk about some stats relating to it. With my favourite drawings from this series included to grab some attention.

The final win tally for Ceph is: 3/20 or 6/20 if we're to use the Japanese fest timeline. A pretty bad track record, but Ceph isn't really bummed about it. All that matters to him is that he had fun participating.

The idol, whose team Ceph chose the most was Frye at 13 times or 14 times with Japan-exclusive fests included. Quite far behind at second place is Big Man with 4 times or 5, when including Japan-exclusive fests. And third is Shiver with just 2 times being chosen or 3 with the Japan-exclusive fests.

The colors of Ceph's chosen teams tended to lean warmer. There is a big tie for Ceph's most often picked color between blue, green, pink and orange each of them having been picked 3 times. When addding in the Japan-exclusive fests, there are now two colors tied for the top spot, those being blue and off-white both being picked 4 times in total.

The weapon class Ceph chose the most was splatanas, having 4 different weapon kits that were picked. No surprise there, as that's Ceph's favourite weapon class. All classes have been picked at least once. This was actually a deliberate choice on my part to represent every weapon class within this series. Here's the number of picks for all classes: Shooters-2, Rollers-2, Chargers-1, Sloshers-3(Japan-exclusive splatfests included), Splatling-2, Dualies-2, Brellas-2, Blasters-1, Brushes-1, Stringers-1, Splatanas-4.

These stats are obviously going to change, as splatfests are still going. In fact, they're going to change very soon. So let me give you a little tease of what's gonnna happen very soon. Ceph will be choosing team Wizard for the upcoming Splatoween. Which would add 1 to the Shiver teams he picked and would make green the color he picked most, or add it to the two others at the top when counting all splatfests. And lastly, I can say that there will be one more blaster weapon added to the count, but you'll have to wait to see what it is.

I don’t really talk about my Agents as people and not my dragon au (aside from them in my fics) but like......the honest truth is that I have not really drawn them much. And thus my mental image of them is.............well it’s certainly vague. 

But I drew them today! Aside from 3b that drawing is older I just never posted it lol. And Eight had a more concrete design for awhile but I had only drawn it the one time so oops here they all are. The Agents + Ilkani. Basically just all my Cephalopeople OCs aside from my Grizzco guy. Squidbeak party gang

As a heads up- I won't be able to donate for a long while. My funds are nearly depleted, and while I wish I could donate endlessly, I do have my own medical bills to take care of, as well as my other bills, and I need to start saving again as a result. I'm very sorry about this !!

i have decided smolt and tetra will not be in a relationship it wouldn't make sense anymore. they were in the og version of this story I forgot why but I changed something and now it doesn't make sense

actually I remember now it's bc I put tetra with the salmonids and huch when I reworked this. he was literally just some guy in the desert before this

actually SHE because tetra was originally more feminine and used she/her. and I think she was nb

idk what's going on with now tetras gender now actually I think I said it used he/it in a post but I genuinely forgot about it using it/its I thought he used only he/him but I like he/it so it's gonna stay

I gotta tell the original story of these splatoon ocs. some of them (cough ceph captain sunni and 8) date back to splat 2 and were named shit like TOAST and PANCAKE (those guys are now ceph and captain) so you can tell how good my storytelling skills were lmao

honestly this story wasnt the worst thing ive created because it stuck so much to canon. it was canon but random other characters would show up sometimes. But there's always worse I still think about original ANOS. og ANOS was completely trash HAHAHAHA but that's a story for main blog

I finally made an Octoling OC to go with my squid kids!

His name is 3D and he was conscripted into the Octarian forces (mind controlled) and assigned to stop Ceph (my Agent 3) 'at all costs'.

They're pretty evenly matched and every encounter leads with Ceph getting away with help from the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

He's never able to fully best Ceph until the penultimate fight before DJ Octavio when they finally fight just 1 on 1.

Ceph just barely comes out on top again in their final battle, and instead of splatting him, he convinces 3D that he only won because 3D's mind control device is actually weakening him.

In a fit of rage 3D destroys his own mind control device and is freed from Octarian control. He doesn't remember anything before he was mind controled but is still only obsessed with getting his 1v1.

Ceph agrees to fight him one last time if 3D helps him defeat the Octarians first. He joins Ceph, and eventually stays with him afterwards because he, "doesn't have anything else anymore" after Ceph invites him back to Inkopolis.

His continuous losses and inability to defeat Ceph while mind controlled messed with his temperament, and now he's prone to frustration and anger, but Ceph basically takes him in and they become "frenemies" according to 3D (although he reluctantly agrees that Ceph is his closest friend and they share a "special bond" [gay])

3D gets his name because of his heterochromia matching the ancient relics known as '3-D Goggles', and there's and ongoing bit that he can "see in 3D" because they're all stupid.

After he's no longer mind controlled, he becomes obsessed with "Retro Gaming" whatever that is! He Wears the Retro Gamer Jersey, and flavors the N-Zap and S-Blast weapons because of their "Retro Design".

The next Splatoon 3 splatfest on the list is Power vs. Wisdom vs. Courage - a crossover splatfest with the Legend of Zelda series.

I included the original drawing I made for this splatfest back in 2023 below the cut-off, as I promised in a previous post.

I'm not a Zelda fan, so this splatfest's theme didn't interest me too much back when it was first announced, though other aspects of it were. I chose team Wisdom, as that's what I thought I would want to seek the most at first. However, as the splatfest was already underway, I did realize that Courage is something I'd much rather seek instead, as I could definitely use some irl. Though, not wanting to be on the team that was shown to be lagging behind, I decided to stick with my original decision.

Unlike me, though, Ceph's decision to pick team Wisdom was pretty concrete from the start. Ceph has no need for power or influence over anyone, and he has plenty of courage already, but he can certainly use some wisdom. He isn't particularly wise or knowledgeable, but he realizes that it's something that wouldn't hurt to change.

I decided to follow in the footsteps of the previous crossover splatfest and dress Ceph in cosplay again. This time, he's dressed as the Tears of the Kingdom version of team Wisdom's symbol - Princess Zelda. I chose the design of Zelda that you see for most of the game, the one with the dress, as I prefer it to the other. I did change it just a little bit to fit team Wisdom's aesthetics, as well as this fest's branding. Ceph's weapon of choice this time is the Tri-Slosher Nouveau, as I think that its more supportive kit suits team Wisdom really well.

ONE time me and my friends did a coffee shop AU where all our splatoon OCs worked at Starbucks LAFF. Ceph is the manager, Krill is the annoying college jock who flirts with him constantly, Lash is the quiet drink maker while Sally is...sally. Helix is one of the cashiers too and dredge is just a gross who flirts with him all the time.

He’s still a squid but everyone thinks he’s a bird! Doesn’t help that he’s a siren, lol.

The bottom commission is of my band that's consisting of my agents and oc, it's called Ink Scratch! Look at them, it's supposed to be an album cover and they did awesome, I can't stop looking at it!!!
