“It is with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to two of our esteemed colleagues.” Thrawn ceremoniously says, in front of two coffins in the grand hangar of the Chimaera, “Those two women accomplished their duty with diligence, uprightness, and more than anything, with an undying loyalty to the Empire. We can only strive to do as well as them.” He concludes. 
He advances and leaves a single rose on each of the coffins. They are both empty, but the gathering behind him doesn’t know it. One coffin for the Captain promptly expelled in the cold and never-ending night of the universe and one for you, carefully hidden in his suite, paralyzed and powerless. 
All your colleagues are here for a last homage to two women who strived to accomplish their duties each day with righteousness. Only Thrawn knows the truth about you two. “Farewell, Ma’ams.” He finishes and everyone bows to your coffins. 
The coffins are taken to the furnace of the Chimaera and the gathering spreads in little groups, discussing about you or what this ceremony inspired them. Thrawn sneakily steals a third rose in the bouquets displayed and walks calmly among the cells, accepting greetings and congratulations as he walks by before joining the little group of officers that beat you up. The group is strangely silent contrary to all the others, still uneasy, like they could be discovered now. 
“Gentlemen, Ladies. My congratulations.” He says, his hard gaze traveling from one face to the other wincing with more or less discomfort. “You have executed your last mission with brio. You can be proud of yourself.” 
But they aren’t. In their eyes they killed two of their colleagues and nothing will be able to take that weight off their shoulders. Not even Thrawn. That is well, he doesn’t care if nightmares prevent them from sleeping at night. “I know this is little consolation, but you have my gratitude.”, “Thank you, Grand Admiral.” one of them mutters. “Just know you have done the right thing,” he assures them before approaching Faro who stayed in the doorway. 
“You did not want to see the ceremony from a better point of view?” He asks, curious. “No.” She responds with a somber tone, “I do not deserve it. I was a bad friend to (F/n)...”, “How so?”, “I turned my back on her when she needed my help the most. I did not believe her when she proclaimed her innocence to me. This is unforgivable.” She lowers her head, clearly disappointed in herself. “The false proves were convincing. I, myself, had some difficulty separating facts from fiction.” He consoles her, but she hears none of it. “Still! I should have known, I should have believed her no matter what. And now I can’t even say sorry.”, “I am sure Lieutenant Commander (f/n) would not hold it against you. Raise your head, Commodore. Do not let it hold you down, I need you ready and alert.”, “Yes, Grand Admiral.” she acquiesces but her heart isn’t into it. “Do not be too hard on yourself. You have done what was expected of a Commodore in your hard situation. You can be proud of yourself.”, “Thank you, Grand Admiral. What are you going to do with that rose?” She tilts her head. “This little thing? My suite could use some rose fragrance.” He answers enigmatically. If Karyn didn’t know him well she would have thought he sadistically smiled. But she does know him well, he isn’t like that! 
Thrawn walks silently in the corridors, inhaling the scent of the red flower pressed against his nose. He will give you that rose. He will command you a proper large bouquet later, for now, he will offer you that single flower, red like his heart beating for you.  
You gave him so much pleasure yesterday you deserve a gorgeous bouquet! He also started looking into the housing market and he found some properties on some isolated planets, some charming little cottages away from towns and villages. With a big garden for you to lazily bask in the sun, to do some gardening if you so wish, but mostly for his children to play. He can’t wait to meet them, to see them running around you two and doing cartwheels in the green grass.  
He wants a big tree to install a swing for them to play, a pool for you to relax on a deck chair to read, and a patio to eat under the sun with the family when the good days finally arrive. He wants a large family. 
He wants children with you! He wants to see you round and swollen with his babies. 
He keeps fantasizing about his future domestic life when he reaches his suite. He immediately heads towards his bedroom where you obediently await his return every day. “Hello, Cha’cah.” He greets you with a smile. 
You are hidden under the covers, recoiling in a ball. Still and mute. If he couldn’t read your heat signals he could think you were dead. He sits on the edge of the bed, laying his hand on your hidden shoulder and gently squeezes it, “Stop hiding, Ch’acah. Let me see your face.”  
As you refuse to move he grips the cover’s hem and pulls on it, revealing your face to his eyes. How beautiful you are, all pouty like that! You grumble and immediately try to hide your face again. 
You cannot face him. 
Not after what happened yesterday. You are still in shock. 
He chuckles and pulls more on the cover, “Come on, now. Do you intend to deprive me of your ravishing face?” He demands and immediately leans in to kiss your cheek. You do not respond to the kiss, forcing your eyes shut, slightly trembling.“I have a little present for you.” He takes a little lick at your cheek and takes the rose off behind his back. 
You remain mute and eyes shut. He brushes the rose under your nose making you sneeze and finally react. You hesitantly take the rose between your hands while he kisses your temple. 
He is so happy! You’ve made such progress in your relationship! You desire him as much as he desires you now, craving each other's presence. He wants to hug you all day long, having you on his lap while he works at his desk, embracing you all night! He wants the complete page! The real deal! 
You surely spend the whole day awaiting his return desperately counting the hours until he returns in your arms. Your pa ack ssionate night must plague your mind and entice you to do it again, but you’re so shy you surely won’t try anything 
He can’t wait to hold you tight tonight again. And surely you too! 
But he knows he still has to tame you, he is only midway through his goal. He needs a lot more tenderness and sweet touches for you to be fully comfortable and open.

But he is prepared for it.

You are confused, out of your mind, dwelling on the same questions, the same interrogations spinning in your head non-stop. 
You trusted him, you looked up to him, felt safe with him… You placed your life between his hands! 
You spend all day eyes hypnotized by the bay; looking at shiny stars, dissociating completely, mind bubbling and bursting out of your skull.  
His fingers come gripping your chin to spin your face towards his burning red gaze. “Let me look at you, Ch’acah. Let me admire your gorgeous face, I miss it dearly all day long.” He demands, between a plea and an order, “How I love to appreciate it in detail. Your expression yesterday night was just so... Exquisite.” He praises, his red eyes shining brighter, “If only you knew how long I desired it.” 
You gulp, lowering your gaze before him. 
Was... Was it all your fault? If you kept your mouth shut and didn’t speak his name, would it have happened still? 
“Why do you not look me in the eyes, my sweet? I so long for your gaze on me.” He asks, his thumb coming to caress your lower lips, parting them lightly. You gasp, at a loss for words. What to respond? How will he react? Will he kiss you? Will he become violent? Will he just shrug it off? Will he slap you? Will he leave you alone and untouched? 
Far away from your confusion and trouble, Thrawn observes your face, idolizing your features, adoring your dazed expression. How are you so effortlessly beautiful? He wonders, simply amazed. And your voice... Truly mesmerizing. 
“I... I just...” You start, raising your eyes to meet his to immediately get a flashback of the dark and heavy gaze he had last night. Absolutely terrifying. He looked like a carnivore that spotted a bleeding prey. 
And he acted like one...

You can clearly hear the satisfied smile in his voice as he pecks your nape tenderly, but you are not as sure as him. “It’s not... It’s not what I am trying to-” You moan sharply, hissing as he suddenly sucks on your skin. You squirm under his large and tall body, trying to get out of under him, but your two casts prevent you from moving properly, and either way, his strength keeps you firmly in place under him. He raises his head to look at you with a foggy gaze, heavy with dark desires.  
“It is all right, ch’eo ch’acah.” he murmurs darkly, “We will figure it out. I will satisfy you like you never were before.” And before you can contradict him he captures your lips in a demanding kiss. He devours your mouth, robbing you of all your air. You refrain a yelp and bite his lip til he bleeds to make him stop. He parts with you with a grin, licking his bleeding lip with brighter eyes, “Interesting...” He takes note, strangely pleased by your reaction. 
You try to look enraged, frowning your brows and baring your teeth to deter him, to make him realize he should back down. But instead, you see even more hunger brewing in his predatory gaze, like something switched in his mind. A single drop if his blood falls on the corner or your lips and he spreads it on your lips with his thumb, adorning your mouth with rich, deep red. 
“I love your energy, Ch’acah.” He says with an increasingly deranged gaze, but his voice as still and calm as it always was, “Can you keep it up all night?” He asks, hope flourishing in his dry heart. You look at him shocked and at loss for words you only can gasp at his outrageous demand.  
He visibly softens at your reaction, caressing your cheek tenderly. “It is all right, ch’eo ch’acah. We can take it slow.” He says lowly, brushing his nose in the crook of your neck, “There is so many things I would like for us to do, so many things I would like to share with you.” 
You do not know it yet but you love him too, he knows it, but you are still confused. He will give you more time. 
At least until he cannot repress it anymore... 
“I just want you to know you filled my heart with joy yesterday.” He confesses, “Knowing we reciprocate feelings... This is truly a blessing by the Warrior.” He tenderly looks into your eyes, holding your cheek with his warm large palm, preventing you from escaping him.

“Thrawn.” You manage to say with a firmer voice, catching his attention, “I think you are... misunderstanding the situation. You are dear to me, but... I don’t think I wanted-” He tilts his head, squinting a bit, his gaze slowly switching to dark lust to...Warning and threats, shutting you up. 
You feel yourself starting to tremble under his black gaze. 
“Ch’acah... Oh Ch’acah.” He chants, a grin flourishing on his face, “You do not make any sense, ch’eo Ch’acah.” He darkly chuckles at your discomfited expression, “You called for me, and I simply responded. I would never have laid a hand on you without you desiring it, I think you are mixing responsibilities here. ” He lowers his head to brush his nose with yours, a purr raising in his throat,  
“Thrawn...” you try again. He shushes you, putting his bumpy forehead against yours, looking deep into your human eyes, “You are still confused. Your consciousness is trying to convince you you did not want it because you lost your former lover tragically. It is trying to protect itself from pain and loss.” His thumb caresses your cheek as he speaks, hypnotizing you with his red eyes. 
Is... Is it true? Thrawn never lied to you until now and you cannot imagine him truly assaulting a woman... Could it be the truth? 
But why are you feeling so dirty and disgusted with yourself? 
“It is a perfectly natural reaction, it is your survival instinct trying to protect your mental and physical integrity. It is extremely common in fields bordering on death daily. “You do?” you ask with a voice where hope and fear mix. 
“We should simply do it again.” He drops the bomb with a deliciously satisfied smile. You open your eyes wide open, incredulous, “Excuse me?” You ask in a white voice. “It is exposure therapy, Ch’acah. Making you confront your fear will help you.”, “I am not sure this is for me.”, Thrawn tilts his head like he didn’t understood your reaction, “I only want what is best for you, (Y/n). You know that right?” 
“I... Think” you gulp. 
“I only want to help you.” He insists, “Do you believe I could do anything to hurt you? Me? Your Ch’acah?” 
Your mind froze. The memories of yesterday night fighting the memories of your sweet polite friend. Thrawn, always so nice and supportive, your Ch’acah who forgave your stab in his back. The one you wounded in his flesh. Is it possible? That you completely misconstructed that situation and he is telling the truth? You knew each other for years, Eli and Karyn trust him. He never raised his hand on anyone. He is an upright man, a moral person you blindly trusted. 
Your brain cannot reconcile those two very real aspects of him, one must come up on top. He simply awaits which one, ready to jump into action and modify his plans in split second if you realize the monster he truly is. 
“...No...” you finally let out, tears flowing on your face. 
He smiles carnivorously, congratulating himself. Those long days playing the good loyal friend all cumulated to this moment. Before the impossible dilemma he presented you, your brain chose to hide the truth, too ugly to witness. That he is such a monster, that he assaulted you and took advantage of you in more ways than one... Before the hideous reality, your mind buries its head in the sand and convinces you all of it was just a bad dream, a misunderstanding, that your tormentor is still your nice friend, only wanting the best for you. 
“No, I cannot believe that...” You broke down completely. 
“Shhhhhhhhh... It is good, my sweet.” He caresses your hair gently, brushing your noses together, “I do not hold it against you. In confusion you are ready to believe anything. Even that your most loyal support could do anything against you.” You sob, big tears rolling off your eyes, you gasp for air “I... I never wanted to think that about you!” You gulp, “But I was so confused and afraid. Thrawn I am so sorry!” 
“No need to be, Ch’eo Ch’acah. I forgive you.” He holds you tight, hugging you, shielding your body with his massive one. “You are grieving and in pain. Your disarray is understandable. You may not worry, I am not holding it against you.” He murmurs into your ear with a sickly sweet tone. 
Oh, sweet thing... So sweet and fragile little darling... How blissful he feels at this very instant. You, presenting your excuses to him, your torturer, craving a rational explanation that aligns with your views of the world so much you are willing to believe your executioner. You are just a sweet, little bird with broken wings. It is easier to believe you hold responsibilities and lay against yourself than face the reality that your best friend and benefactor assaulted you. 
Absolutely fascinating how one’s mind is ready to believe anything rather than a painful and uncomfortable truth. But right now he is incredibly grateful for it. He ravished you and got out of it dirt free.

Chapter Nine
The pain in your chest reflected the feeling you've been keeping inside all this time. I mean it's been practically a week since you kissed your best friend and ended a relationship non-existent with your soulmate. To say the first few days after your big argument with Jungkook were easy would be hypocritical.
In fact, you completely isolated yourself, afraid of what would happen if you saw each other. You felt embarrassed to face your friends, realizing that you had become the talk of the moment. You also hesitated to talk to Taehyung about what happened the last time you two were alone. All you were able to do was fall into a routine. Go to work, go to the market and come home. Every day the same thing without interacting with anyone. Are you careful not to go out to work At the same time that Jungkook is leaving, you avoid going to the market near where you live. You talk to your friends on the phone but refuse to go to their house. At this point you know what they will want to talk to you about. And until today, you've felt like you were handling everything well, even though it tugs at your heart being separated from Jungkook and avoiding Taehyung.
"You look terrible, Y/N." You heard a male voice approaching just as you were entering your apartment after a tiring day of work.You were about to ignore it, as you've been ignoring everything related to Jungkook, but then you dared to look ahead. Those dark eyes were incredibly teary, as if he had cried recently. That's when you remembered shedding tears on your way home, realizing the connection you both shared.
"Good evening, Mr. Jeon Jungkook. Thank you for the feedback. If you'll excuse me..." you say, trying to avoid looking at him again. Your hand trembles slightly from nervousness. The truth is, as Jungkook hasn't ended the connection between you two, every cell in your body wants to be with him. Close to him.
"I would love to do that with you but unfortunately I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to start the process of ending our connection. "I dismiss your suggestions. I just sincerely hope you suffer through this." You say getting closer to Jungkook. You're so angry that you don't even notice how close you are to him.
"I don't believe anything you're saying. Your mouth says one thing and your eyes say another." Jungkook speaks, increasing the proximity of the two of you. And for some reason you felt good, your heart he seemed to have calmed down with your proximity.
"Believe what you want. Soon you'll do us a favor and separate us forever. Each one going their own way." You say looking at Jungkook who immediately kisses you. Such a surprising kiss that you don't even know how to react. You only respond to the kiss because you don't have the strength to fight it.
"Believe it or not, I'm doing what's best for both of us." Jungkook says as soon as he breaks the kiss. You don't even have time to say anything, he just goes away. You then start to feel tears running down your face. And an immeasurable pain inside you. You sit in front of your apartment letting the tears come out, convincing yourself that everything you feel for Jungkook will disappear. You take your cell phone from your bag and dial the number of the person you usually call when you need support.
"Can you come stay with me?" You talk on the phone, figuring that if you're going to go through all this pain, you're going to need someone by your side.
"There's no other place in the world I'd rather go to. I'll be there in about ten minutes." Taehyung speaks on the other end of the line. You then turn off your cell phone and wait for him to arrive. Knowing that this is the end of your brief connection with Jungkook.

It was a dream Ephraim Bridger had grown familiar with.
He would open his eyes and find himself standing amid the grasslands of Lothal, the landscape dotted with rock formations, the sky warm with orange and gold as the sun set.
Laughter just ahead would draw his attention, and there was his son, having lured yet another loth-cat out of its nest to play. At his side, Mira took his hand in hers and leaned into him, standing on her toes to kiss him. Ephraim would wrap his arms around her, closing his eyes as he took in the peace around him, holding onto the dream as long as he could.
This time, though, the dream changed.
Ezra’s sudden silence broke him out of his reverie. When Ephraim found him again, Ezra was far ahead, his wild blue-black hair barely visible above the tall grasses. His son stood stock-still, transfixed by the sudden appearance of a white loth-wolf that towered over him.
The boy didn’t look frightened; he stared in awe at the creature, even as Ephraim’s heart leapt to his throat and he pulled Mira along, sprinting towards Ezra. The loth-wolf watched as Ephraim ran, but the creature made no move to attack. Instead, it laid down and waited patiently, yellow eyes studying him. The loth-cat Ezra had been playing with scrambled up the wolf’s back, coming to rest on its head.
Ephraim called out for Ezra, and the boy turned to him. His face split into a wide grin, showing his missing front teeth. “It’s okay, daddy!” he called, patting the loth-wolf’s leg. “It’s time to stand up!”
Ephraim woke in his cell, still reaching out for Ezra.

“You’re quiet,” Mira murmured as she sat beside him to eat. The pristine Imperial detainment center encased them, as devoid of expression and as militant as the stormtroopers that guarded it. The morning broadcast toting the Empire’s propaganda droned on in the background of the mess hall, masking their quiet conversation. Ephraim had learned to tune the noise out.
“I had a dream.”
She smiled knowingly, age lines crinkling around her eyes. “Ezra?”
He nodded as his throat tightened. “He told me it’s time to stand up.”
Mira choked on a laugh, then quickly sobered as a trooper guarding the door turned sharply to look at her. Once the trooper resumed his stance, she lowered her voice while picking at her rations. “I hope he remembers that.”
“I think we told him often enough.”
“He was so little. Young, I mean.” She paused thoughtfully. “Do you think he’s taking after you or me, height-wise?”
“We’ll find out, one day.”
She rested her head briefly on his shoulder, her headwrap secured around her hair. That had been one decency the Empire allowed her. The other had been allowing him to keep his beard, instead of being clean-shaven. He briefly kissed her forehead. The greatest mercy the Empire had shown was allowing them to stay together.
Of course, any time the officers thought Ephraim and Mira were speaking too loudly, too pointedly about the flaws of the Empire, or were found encouraging an ever-growing group of prisoners, they were threatened. Threatened with labor, with death, with separation. They had been punished in the last seven years of their captivity, but so far, no extreme penalty had befallen them.
Seven years. Had it really been that long?
He held his cup tightly, watching as droplets fell from the rim where they’d sloshed. Not a day went by that he didn’t think about his son. His little boy was fifteen now. How old would he be when Ephraim finally got to see him again?  
Mira’s voice pulled him from his isolation. “Do you remember,” she said, trying not to laugh, “when he turned on the broadcast when we’d gone to the market?”
Ephraim ducked his head to hide his smile from the troopers. “And announced to anyone still tuned-in that he’d drawn a picture of a Jedi in a ship fighting back against the Empire.”
“I didn’t know you could run that fast. You reached him minutes before I made it back.”
“I swear, I locked the hatch to the room.”
“I know – I watched you do it. He just had a knack for getting into places he wasn’t supposed to be.”
“Like the roof.”
“Oh!” Mira put a hand to her chest, as though the memory still made her heart flutter in worry. “If Tseebo hadn’t climbed up after him, I don’t know what I would have done!”
“I would have come over myself to get him, if you’d needed me to,” a gruff voice broke in.
A broad-shouldered man with sun-tanned skin and a white beard set his tray down with a huff across from them. A dark purple circle ringed his eye.
“Ryder.” Mira raised a hand to examine the bruise. “What happened?”
The former governor of Lothal waved her away. “I’m alright, Mira. Got into a little scuffle with the guards, that’s all.”
“What? Why?”
After making sure none of the troopers were nearby, Ryder pitched his voice low. “I caused a distraction for two of the new inmates. The Bothan and the Mon Cal? They were able to hack an outlying terminal and get a map of the facility.”
Leaning closer, Ephraim asked, “Are they planning something?”
Ryder shrugged. “Seems like they want to, but they don’t have any ideas past getting a layout of the place. Figured it was a good opportunity to get –”
The speakers buzzed; the words of the calm Imperial broadcast cut off in a burst of static. Frowning, Ephraim glanced around. Others had noticed as well; guards and prisoners alike looked to the speakers in surprise.
The static continued, and he heard an officer call over her comm to check the holonet signal. After a few moments, the interference ceased, and a strangely young male voice reverberated around the mess hall.
“We have been called criminals, but we are not. We are rebels, fighting for the people, fighting for you. I'm not that old, but I remember a time when things were better on Lothal.”
Ephraim’s heart stopped. Mira seized his wrist, her knuckles white.
“Maybe not great, but never like this. See what the Empire has done to your lives, your families, and your freedom? It's only gonna get worse…unless we stand up and fight back.”
An officer was yelling orders to cut the connection, but there was nothing they could do; the Imperial broadcasts were hardwired to play consistently throughout the prison. And now every prisoner stared at one another – dissenters, fighters, activists, and so many others – and Ephraim saw a spark in their eyes as the transmission continued.
“It won't be easy. There will be loss and sacrifice. But we can't back down just because we're afraid. That's when we need to stand the tallest. That's what my parents taught me. That's what my new family helped me remember.
“Stand up together. Because that's when we're strongest—as one!”
Another burst of static crackled over the speakers, followed by a ringing silence.
Tears filled Ephraim’s eyes, and he let them fall, his heart swelling with so many emotions he thought it might burst. Relief, pride, concern, love, all swirled into a bubble that finally broke through as a sob.
Mira’s hands were shaking as she gripped him tightly. “He’s alright,” she whispered against his cheek. “Ezra’s alright.”
“Ezra?” Ryder frowned. “You think that was him?”
“She’s right,” Ephraim murmured, pulling her close. His tears stained her headwrap, but it didn’t matter. “The way he spoke, the phrases he used – it’s the same things we’d say in our broadcasts.”
“His voice sounds just like you when we were younger.” Mira smiled through her own tears. “He’s out there, fighting for the free galaxy we wanted for him. And with a family – Ephraim, someone’s looking out for him.”
The buzzer sounded, alerting all detainees that they were to return to their cells. The stormtroopers seemed rattled; they snapped at the closest prisoners to move faster, grips tight on their blasters, helmets swiveling as they scanned the mess hall.
Ephraim stood, but a lightness in his chest made him pause. He met Mira’s eyes; determination danced in her gaze, and she nodded once. Their son was out there, standing up for others, standing against the Empire. And it was high time Ephraim and Mira joined him.
Ryder glanced between them. “I know that look,” he muttered uneasily.
Ephraim clapped him on the shoulder. “Stand tall, Ryder. It’s time to act.”

Oh Aphra, where to begin. Honestly the best way I can describe her is that she’s Star Wars’ Vriska. She’s a “rogue archeologist” and in marketing material sometimes compared to Indiana Jones, but the only similarity is that she can feature in the same wacky stories about retrieving artifacts except with none of the mismatch between modern ideas about archeology and repatriation and Indy being the hero, because she specifically isn’t. She was originally created for the 2015 Darth Vader comic series, recruited to help Vader raise a force that would let him coup the Emperor. She was so popular she then got her own comic series, making her the breakout star of the Disney/Marvel Star Wars comics. The Fandom Menace can’t touch her.
Her comics have been a series of frankly strange adventures involving Force artifacts, Vader either working with her or wanting her dead, and double crosses that leave your head spinning. She has Thrawn level tactical abilities, but only for schemes. She is haunted by how her trauma born behaviors make it hard for her to maintain relationships and be a good person. She has so many exes it's an entire section of this tournament. Her most significant relationships have been with Sana Starros and Magna Tolvan. As of the end of the Spark Eternal arc, the comic seems to be leaning towards a poly ending with the three of them, but first Aphra needs to stop self sabotaging.
One of Aphra’s greatest achievements was at the end of her 2016 comic run, where she trapped Vader in a PTSD flashback Force artifact on Tython and hacked his suit to allow her to erase Hoth from the Empire’s records. She did this for the sake of her loved ones who had joined the Alliance. Doing this gave Echo Base enough time to build up before they were found again that they were able to evacuate much more efficiently. That’s right, disaster lesbian love saved the Rebellion.
Kaeden Larte | Identity: queer | Media: Ahsoka novel
Kaeden Larte was a young farmer on the isolated moon of Raada. When she was fourteen her parents died in a farming accident and she was given special permission to take their job. She also became the guardian of her younger sister Miara. When Ahsoka arrived on Raada, Kaeden was quick to welcome her and developed a crush on her. When the Empire arrived, Kaeden joined a resistance cell. Their attack on the Imperial garrison failed, and Ahsoka to save them, was forced to reveal that she was a Jedi. Feeling betrayed that Ahsoka kept such a secret from her, she abandoned their hiding place in the caves and was captured by the Empire. They tortured her, but Ahsoka was able to rescue her. When Ahsoka left Raada to get help, Kaeden was captured again by the Sixth Brother to lure out Ahsoka. When Ahsoka rescued her again, she confessed her feelings, which Ahsoka gave a noncommittal answer to.
After Ahsoka’s battle with the Sixth Brother, the residents of Raada were welcomed to Alderaan. Kaeden eventually went to medical school and afterwards joined the Rebellion as a medic. If she ever reconnected with Ahsoka is unknown. She was present at the medal ceremony at the end of A New Hope.
The episode “Resolve” from Tales of the Jedi is based on the same episode concept as the Ahsoka novel, and thus has potentially retconned Kaeden and replaced her with a white man. However a reference book has attempted to establish the two as just coincidentally similar separate events. The identity “queer” is based off E K Johnston’s statements regarding what orientation she imagined Kaeden with.

But hasn’t the Church often touted the nuclear family as “the epitome of human function”? At least it always seems like that to me, the family is even called “The Domestic Church” and “The Domestic Kingdom.” But at the same time Christian societies in ages past were very much not as individualistic and more community based than modern day… I suppose there is a balance, like in all things…

but like it depends heavily on what you mean when you refer to "nuclear".
In the current mindset that's a wife, a husband, and two kids, one boy one girl. It was popularized as the way to structure your life I believe in the American 1950's?

Before that the family was not simply husband, wife, and children, but was a connected group of generations, and in many countries, that's still their idea of what family is. The aunts, uncles, grandparents, and all the family is more closely interconnected. And, in families where this happens, the level of stability is usually higher.
For instance, I grew up fairly close to my grandparents and aunts and uncles. We don't see each other as much as we could, but when we do get together, we're a lot more unified than we would be if we were more separate. On my mother's side, my family is way closer together than on my father's side. I've barely seen my paternal grandparents in the last three years. If you wanted to ask me where i would go for help and love, i'd turn to my maternal side of the family.
When people talk about overturning the nuclear family, they usually mean the destruction of the unit itself. That's not my thought.
My thought is rather that the unit of the basic family is the building block for how our life is supposed to be. This is backed up by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which reads, "The family is the original cell of social life"(2207).
To break the family down into little boxes and say that the epitome of family, the ideal, is an isolated man and woman who care for their own kids and don't interfere with others is a very odd idea, and highly alien from human history.
How many of us in this current generation have stories that have been passed down? How many of us know about our own families? There is a reason that Ancestry.Com has a market. People don't know who they are, and that's an integral thing for a human being. We were structured for family, but not only a family, but our family.
Perhaps many people have to break free from toxic and broken families they were born into. You can build up the new one you create.
The nuclear family, in my opinion, and for a ton of the history of Western and probably Eastern Civilization was a basic building block. It was not the triumph, but rather the beginning. It was not the building, but a brick.
