Aaliyah’s grandfather Ernest W. Hankerson passes away November 5th 2003 in Coweta, GA at the age of 89; two years after Aaliyah passed away in 2001. Ernest was born November 29th 1913 in Barnwell, SC.

Ernest was the widower to Mintis L. Hankerson who had passed away a few years prior. Aaliyah dedicated her 3rd album to her grandmother {Mintis}.

The attached images in this post are the only known images of Aaliyah with her grandfather at a family gathering.
