Day 2 of the Me and You workshop, deciding to continue the exploration of the value of people.
I believe my first attempt was a failure as i personally do not suit the loose, uncontrolled drawing method of charcoal, as it can not be erased or undone. My proportions were lacking, and so I decided to make it a quick warmup to start the day, as well as experimenting with watered down ink over the sketch.
For the majority of the day, I decided to delve deeper into what I wanted my art to convey to the audience. I plan to communicate the idea of the idolisation of celebrities and how the general public put certain people on a pedestal and value them to be something so much greater than them, almost as royalty or a divine being. They are not being valued sentimentally but rather being objectified in a way and valued for their appearance or talent, looked at in a way that they aren't real people.
To visually represent this concept, I have used charcoal on toned paper with plans to implement mixed media, using gems/glitter/vibrant colours for the jewels on the crown and gems on her accessories and dress.
I have chosen the portrait to be of Britney Spears - an iconic singer with a dark background. Although beloved by her audience, she was forced to perform on stage by her own father, threatened to be unable to see her children otherwise. Valued only for appearance and vocals by the viewer and valued only for monetary and financial purposes by her father, both of these sides had only seen her as some sort of object to serve them, never valuing her on a sentimental level.
I have completed the beginning of a grey scale portrait of Britney Spears to symbolise how unseen and sentimentally unvalued she was, as well as a faint sketch of a crown inspired by the Crown Jewels of the UK to represent the monetary value her father took advantage of. The Crown Jewels are also a representation of royalty and how her fans treat her to be on a level higher than them, dehumanising her. Her vibrant, dazzling jewellry, dress, and crown will also serve as a link back to my studies of the properties of crystals from the workshops beforehand.

Elegance Redefined: The Allure of Moissanite Bracelets as explained by I heart moissanites
When it comes to jewelry that combines elegance, durability, and ethical sourcing, Moissanite Bracelets are taking the fashion world by storm. These exquisite pieces of wrist wear offer a brilliant alternative to traditional diamond bracelets, making them a sought-after choice for those who appreciate both beauty and responsibility. In this article, we will delve into the captivating world of Moissanite Bracelets, exploring their origin, characteristics, benefits, and how they are transforming the jewelry industry.
THE ORIGIN OF MOISSANITE - Before we know something about moissanite, we must know its origin, who discovered It and how it was discovered. The moissanite is actually silicon carbide, which was discovered by a french scientist Henri Moissan( so Moissanite have some clue in his name) from a meteorite . However, the natural moissanites are pretty rare and costly.
Then in 20th century, scientists started developing moissanites in laboratory and they succeed as well. Since then 95% of present world moissanites are lab made.
At I heart moissanites we sell both lab made moissanites and natural moissanites both. Today, lab-created Moissanite is celebrated for its exceptional brilliance and fire, often outshining even diamonds.
THE BRILLIANCE OF MOISSANITE - One of the most remarkable features of Moissanite is its stunning brilliance. Moissanite exhibits a higher refractive index than diamonds, which means it reflects light with greater intensity, resulting in an eye-catching play of colors. This characteristic, known as "fire," gives Moissanite its signature sparkle and makes it an ideal choice for bracelets. Moissanite's brilliance is often compared to that of diamonds, and many individuals find it challenging to distinguish between the two with the naked eye. This makes Moissanite Bracelets an attractive option for those who desire the look of diamonds but prefer a more budget-friendly and ethically sourced alternative.
COMPARING WITH DIAMONDS IN ALL ASPECTS – When you compare your moissanite with diamonds, you will diamond are way little to NIL difference with moissanite. They score a 9.25 on the Mohs scale of hardness, just slightly below diamonds, which score a perfect 10. Diamonds and moissanites could be both lab and lab moissanite as well diamonds have pretty little difference.
AFFORDABILITY AND PRICE BY VALUE - In addition to their ethical and environmental benefits, Moissanite Bracelets are also a cost-effective choice. Moissanite typically costs a fraction of the price of diamonds of the same size and quality. This affordability allows jewelry enthusiasts to invest in larger and more luxurious pieces without breaking the bank. Furthermore, Moissanite retains its brilliance and value over time, making it a smart investment for those looking to make a statement without compromising on quality.
OVERALL MOISSANITE IS VERY PREFERABLE FOR GENERATIONS AND NEW AGE PEOPLE IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.

the poet’s muse earrings from alighieri jewellry,
‘the poet's muse earrings are an ode to the way in which the moon has always been a source of inspiration for poets. the baroque pearl, each unique, mirrors the way in which the moon is constantly changing and mesmerising dante as he climbs the mountain of purgatory. wear these earrings as a celebration of poetry, and of the nature around us.’

During my recovery, this has been my biggest project, no kidding. I looked but couldn’t find Obi’s witcher!AU body template so I sketched some Bruxa!yuki designs instead. <w< I’ll finalize and colour them when I’m well, or so I hope, unless I forget XD
Pls forgive any mistakes I’m not 100% yet. ^^;
Explanations below the cut~
AnS (c) Akizuki Sorata Witcher (c) Andrzej Sapkowski TW3 models (c) CDPR Art: Me
Disclaimer: I am not a tailor and as such all my opinions are based on preference and evt pushing rules in my favour XD
The main idea with her wardrobe was to underline that whatever she’s doing, Shirayuki is feminine, and wants to present feminine, hence the skirts and ribbons and embroidery. She’s also a person fond of utility, so belts, pockets, and layers that can be added or removed as she fancied, was also an important facet to add. But she’s also bruxae, monster species, so she’s got a few blind spots, so to speak, regarding what is and isn’t proper to wear in human society. But most of all, her clothes make it easy for her to use her bruxa powers to move around swiftly, silently, and with purpose
Around half of these were referenced from the witcher 3 game, with me picking my favourite garb, and what made more sense for her in different situations.
1. Huntress Outfit - this one I made myself, using only some of the basic wardrobe notes from tw3. I’ve a softness for overdresses/kaftans with splits, especially if they’re combined with tights/buckskins. Shirayuki is a poor bruxa living in the woods outside a small human settlement, so she doesn’t have access to a tailor other than on market day, or when peddlers arrive, hence she often has to redesign old/too-small clothing for new purposes. Another point was to reinforce her sleeves, to make it easier to brush away branches and undergrowth, and adding the Skelligan waist shawl, a gift from her half-sister, as recurring themes.
2. Winter Outfit - another I made myself, because I was dying to design something that included a sheepskin jerkin. The waist shawl helps redefine the jerkin and give it a feminine twist, and the wrapped sleeves both reduce noise and keeps her cuffs from leaking precious warmth. The wool tunic could have been a dress, but I wanted to focus on showing off her fur-tucked winter boots and knitted long socks. Shirayuki probably knitted them herself.
3. High Summer Outfit - another self-made design. Made so as to underline her non-humanness, borrowing heavily from witcher elven aesthetics, with lots of exposed skin, crossed fabric, and asymmetrical cuts. This is what she wears when the weather *won’t* allow you to dress decently or you get purged by the sun, basically. Again, since Shirayuki’s often short of fabric, a lot of refashioning going on.
4. Commoner Outfit - A very basic woman’s dress, very presentable, very respectable, especially since Shirayuki is trying to sell the lie that she’s a normal human woman. It’s her go-to outfit for visiting human settlements, or for performing simple chores around the house, such as cooking, sewing, or spinning. Things that keep her in or around her homestead, and not gallivanting in the woods at midnight looking for prey.
5. Relaxing Outfit - merely a dusty day dress pulled over her nightgown, for those chilly nights where Shirayuki doesn’t want to undress for bed until she’s halfway under the covers. When the chores are done and all that’s left to do is sip a cup of blood, read a book beside the hearth and wait for Ryuu to return from his late night wandering, she likes to shed all those layers and relax.
6. Throw-together Outfit - referenced from the game, almost entirely (Keira Metz’ witch model) - save the shoes and headband. After the loss of her home and her more presentable clothing thanks to witcher Obi (who will later admit that yes he does in fact owe her a new dress... and blouse... and apron...) this outfit was assembled through raiding an abandoned witch’s hut. Anything that could suffice as clothing, basically, even the old curtains. Shirayuki doesn’t personally care that some of her *assets* are pretty much on display, but she would like some linen anyway, the cotton does chafe a bit. Aside from the pearl necklace, nothing she’s wearing actually belonged to her in the first place.
7. Formal Commoner Outfit - reffed from the game, (Keira Metz’ second model) the shoes being the sole exception. A dress for special occassions, perhaps May Day, Equinox celebrations, etc. Not that Shirayuki often dared participate in such events, due to the amount of people who show up even in small villages to throw tankards together and dance around bonfires. But she does pilfer the dress from the abandoned witch’s hut anyway, thinking maybe, afterall, since it’s so pretty and it had matching sleeves to go with it... keeping it wasn’t such a dumb idea.
8. Pants Outfit - reffed from the game (juggler npc) A cross between a traveler and a city dweller, a light-weight yet very elegant outfit for strolling in the human cities. The top is presentable enough that she doesn’t look poor as a pauper, while the pants give the impression of someone on the move, a stranger. It also provides the most comfortable riding experience, the few times she does ride, as she has no need for a lady’s saddle.
9. High-Class Outfit - reffed from the game/one of my favourite tw3 modders, (New Sorceress models by Roksa) I only added the shoes and circlet. When Zen has the dress made for her, it is by FAR the most expensive thing she’s ever worn. Not a single thread of the dress isn’t well-made, the dyes are the brightest and most even-coloured, and the silk is light as a touch on her skin. While the dress itself is a demure, feminine dream, what sets the ensemble apart are the dark cat’s eye gems, just hinting at Shirayuki’s darker secrets. They’re set in gold, for obvious, unspoken reasons, as she reacts to silver much like being set on fire...
10. Evening Outfit - reffed from the game, I just changed the necklace (Ida Eméan’s Gwent card art) another very expensive dress, but surprisingly one that Shirayuki tolerates better. No stiff, itchy velvet, no heavy damask, just sheer silk with gold thread (again for reasons obvious to a bruxa) some simple sleeves, and a chain of stones, no gilded jewellry that could empty a bank vault if sold to the right people. She probably takes a fancy to this dress while attempting to woo a certain witcher, which explains the understated beauty, the most daring of cuts, one that screams “look at me, only me” and the simple-at-a-glance design. Much like Shirayuki herself.
11. Skellige Outfit - inspired by the viking-esque game design for Skellige fashion, this dress is for when Shirayuki and her family stay in the Isles, following her sister’s suggestion. A dress that signifies the matron head of a household with its pewter clasps and apron, follows Skellige fashion demanding you wear a shawl with your clan colors (Shirayuki, although clan-less, was given one by Torou) and layers. And armguards. And a split overdress. To show that this is Shirayuki’s choice wear afterall.

Your Mom is the one who happens to be there for you personally. In most occasions inside your existence, she was there to celebrate it along with you. She's done only to like and give you support through good occasions and bad occasions.
Now that you're old and looking for your personal space and purpose nowadays, your Mother remains to determine you thru. It is only right that you simply give what is a result of her in most occasions you've been together.
And a few of the special occasions one of the lives that you need to tell one another are A Birthday and your wedding event. Individual’s occasions are simply perfect to profess your gratefulness and passion for one another. And it can be done by providing her unique gifts for every occasion.
There are many unique Mothers' Day gifts and wedding gifts for Mother. And gifts could be more unique if they're specifically personalized for Mother. The gifts that you might personalize are jewellery, diaper bags, mirrors, scrapbooks, and baby slings in case your Mother has an infant.
Personalized jewellery pieces for Mother might be by means of necklace, bracelet, earrings, and ring. However the best pieces on A Birthday are bracelets and necklaces. It does not really matter if it's made from gold, silver, or copper.
Mother will appear great in almost any metallic material anyway. For moms, the appropriate necklace gift is really a charm necklace. You may decide a dual charmed necklace or perhaps a multiple charmed necklace.
The very best about these charmed necklaces is it can treasure recollections within the nicest possible way, and that's by continuing to keep them near to Mom's heart.
Recollections by means of loved a person's names and special dates might be engraved on sides of every charm within the necklace. You may also accent the necklace with Mom's birthstone to really make it more special. For bracelets, it's nice to provide mother a monogram silver bracelet.
It's very simple yet stylishly sophisticated due to its really shining material. It can make Mother look more youthful and much more vibrant. Her initials might be made because the charm from the bracelet.
Then, you may even incorporate a personalized jewellery box with this. Really, jewellery box is an ideal wedding gift for Mother. Simply have it personalized by digitally printing a poem for moms or perhaps a picture of both of you around the cover.
You may even personalize mirrors by personally creating all of them with any materials you have. Really, this craft project isn't very difficult related to just card board and old magazine pages along with you.
It takes only lots of resourcefulness and inventive to become inspired in performing this type of task for Mother. But there's also ready to use mirrors that you might buy, which is designed and colored on your part.
That's also another smart way of making a customized picture frame for Mother. After which, obviously, you have to give a memorable picture within the frame. Select a picture that both you and your Mother shared together that naturally revives recollections.photo projection necklace, photo projection jewellry,
Scrapbooks will also be great presents for A Birthday and Big Day. However it takes considerable time and energy to recollects odds and ends of recollections which are significant for both of you.
Select a scrapbook that's small or big enough to carry all of the photos and memorabilia that you might use in it. You might set it up creatively by eliminating shapes from colored papers. Or else you might just buy scrapbooking products in the book shop for more adorable designs.
For diaper bags and baby slings, these only affect the Moms-to-be or recently moms. You are able to personalize them by requesting the makers to simply accept a design of your stuff that they follow in creating one for the Mother. You might add her name onto it and also have it within the color that they love.

ATWWV - Frith Wilkinson
It's the end of January which means it's time for a new Around The World with Vintage post - another beautiful woman for us to get to know. This time we are visiting New Zealand to meet Frith Wilkinson, a mother, painter, art lover and an absolutely gorgeous vintage collector. I found her on Instagram and fell in lover with her style and her beautiful outfits. Frith has been a vintage collector for 25 years, but I really wanted to know how she amassed such a beautiful collection and how she manages to look so impeccable every day. Frith is also a very talented painter and you can find some of her work for sale here. Now let's get going because I know you're just as curious as I was!
Tumblr media
Hi Frith, thank you for agreeing to be a part of this interview. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
Well, I'm a 46 year old mother of one. A fifth generation Pakeha New Zealander with European ancestry (French, Irish, Welsh and English). I was born and raised in Christchurch but moved to Golden Bay when I finished art school. I'm a self-employed artist (painter) and have been so for about 20 years, exhibiting throughout New Zealand and selling from my wee studio. I also help my husband Martyn with his Redmanuka  jewellry business.
Where do you live?
I live in a remote area of the South Island of Aotearoa, New Zealand in a place called Golden Bay.  It is a community of about 5000 and is a mix of alternative folk, quite a few artists and crafts people, travellers from all over the world who made Golden Bay their home and a sizable farming community,  and although some people love to dress up, almost nobody dresses fully in vintage. Its very beautiful with many beaches, native bush and quite a diverse landscape. It is what inspires me most, as i have a deep love and connection with the  land.
Golden Bay sounds absolutely wonderful. Do you think living there allows you to express yourself and experiment with fashion a bit more? A lot of artists prefer to go for a simpler down-to-earth style and vintage often appears a bit more dressed up or high-maintenance so do you ever feel like it’s not as accepted?
I'm not sure that living in Golden Bay allows me to express myself more freely, although it is a very accepting place as there are lots of eccentrics living here. I'm lucky in that I'm quite oblivious to being judged. All I seem to get is positive comments, both here and in the city. People genuinely appreciate it and like to let me know, which is lovely. I have always dressed up in some way or other since I was a kid (I use to dress as a boy when I was young) and never worried about fitting in. I'm lucky like that I guess. And because I'm pretty happy in my skin and what I wear, I think it makes people feel confident about approaching me.
As an artist, I tend to live in overalls, I definitely don't wear vintage whilst painting. I've never felt pressure from other artists to dress down. In fact, it's the artists I know who tend to be the ones who like to dress up, although not necessarily in vintage.
Tumblr media
How long have you been wearing vintage?
I've been collecting vintage for about 25 years. I have always loved dressing up, even when i moved to the country, I swore I would never wear gumboots (I'm now converted). I use to collect all eras but have grown to love the 1940s the most  as i love the mix of masculine and feminine and tailoring.  I also love the 1930s and 1950s. But my absolute obsession is vintage knitwear. particularly the 1940s knits and i have a good collection of original and reproductions.
The problem is, in New Zealand you are very limited nowadays with sourcing vintage from the eras I love. And the stuff you do find is often expensive. People have started asking crazy prices. Discovering online vintage stores in America and Europe has made a big difference, but I still feel uncomfortable about the road miles. I try to comfort myself that I'm recycling so hopefully it counterbalances the environmental footprint :)
How is the vintage/ pin up scene in NZ and do you have a lot of vintage friends there?
As I don't live in the main centres, it's quite difficult to gauge the vintage scene. Although I think it's fairly small.  In my teens in the 1980s a lot of people in the scene I hung out in wore vintage. It was so cheap then and so much of it was available. But it's much more difficult to find now, especially for a good price. And I feel our society has become more homogenised. In the 80s, and even the 90s to a degree, there was a lot more diversity in dressing styles, which I think is a shame. I do have friends who dress in vintage, but they're mostly on Instagram!
Tumblr media
New Zealand is one great example of the few countries who celebrates the indigenous people and their culture. In recent years the influence of Maori culture is evident in the fashion industry, but do you ever see it in vintage pieces? Do you combine indigenous pieces with your vintage clothes?
Yes, Maori is incorporated into our daily lives a lot more than in many other colonised countries, although there's still a long way to go. A lot of older people and people my age are taking up learning Te Reo, it is taught in schools and is  factored into a lot of decision making in our politics etc. We have the Treaty of Waitangi which was signed in 1840  by many (but not all) chiefs from the many iwi around Aotearoa. Unfortunately the Crown abused their position and it was not adhered to, but because we have a Treaty, a lot of the wrongs are been righted and are being addressed, including monetary and land compensation, acknowledgements of wrong doings and apologies from the Crown. My son is actually doing a full immersion degree this year instead of his post grad as he feels it's so important. But there is still room for improvement.
As far as vintage fashion goes, I don't see any integration. But it's definitely playing a growing role in the fashion scene and there are lots of talented graduates who seem to be embracing it more and more. It's what makes our country special and unique and something I feel very strongly about.
Tumblr media
As a mother do you dress your child in vintage? Do you encourage them to wear vintage or learn about fashion history?
My son is now 23 so I have no influence over his clothing choices! I never dressed him in vintage, but when he was little I bought a lot of his clothes second hand. They were better quality and we had very little money.  Again, you use to find fantastic stuff, but with the introduction of so much cheap imported clothing and shoes, there seems to be less of it. I have never tried to push my love of vintage onto him, but I guess it must have had some impact on him as I never dressed like other mums.
What is it about vintage clothes that attract you in the first place?
There are many reasons I love vintage clothing. One of them is the history, I love imaging the other lives the garments have lived. I love that others have worn them and loved them.  I love the cut and tailoring of many vintage clothes, particularly those from the 1930s and 1940s. I love the quality of the fabrics, the colours. I love that they are being recycled, reused and reloved.. It is better for the planet. Its also unlikely you'll meet someone else wearing the same piece.
Tumblr media
If there is one thing that you want people to know about you, what will that be?
Although I'm quite an introvert by nature  I love to dress up. It makes me happy and I think it makes others happy too. It's a nice balance to my other, more earnest pursuits of art, reading and film.

This page was inspired by the oceanic themes. Jewellry encompasses a fun, novelty oceanic theme in line with s/s 21′s water world story. (WGSN Jewellery: key Items Fashion s/s 21 by Jane Collins) .
Update jewellry designs this season with craft, novelty and futuristic themes that embrace traditional and experimental looks. Use vintage chains, beads, crushed stones, resins, and recycled plastic materials to create new accessories. The reuse of these once used and loved materials celebrate the unique and imperfect nature of these designs.
The repurposing of these materials encourages consumers to become more aware of excess waste in the fashion industry,  it will become increasingly important to explore creative ways of using repurposed and deadstock materials. One of the most important reasons for choosing this trend is the importance of keeping cleaning the ocean It turned to big issues and to avoid excess in the fashion industry.
Marine pollution is a combination of chemicals and trash, most of which comes from land sources and is washed or blown into the ocean. This pollution results in damage to the environment, to the health of all organisms, and to economic structures worldwide.
This page is designed based on the glow of light on the ocean that created a cheerful atmosphere under the sea. So I have created the abstract green coral background by inspiration of the under the ocean.
On the next step, I have created the green glassy frame that made them emerging well and the picture of the beach as a background has more focused on this theme. Using the picture of a model - (www.WGSN.com)- with the beading neglect in the separate frame also represents the value of this trend as a different material.
In order to better describe the s/s 2021 fashion trend, I used different accessories with a variety of materials. The accessories of s/s 2021  that are worked with glass, enamel and semiprecious beads that will work well with pearl or that can be contrasted with textured metal and Solid abalone shell are a must-have solid material this season that is used accessories.
In my opinion, human recreated in order to take care of creation. we can increase the value of the ocean by creating the new accessories with more details and using the materials which find in the ocean.

South Africa’s Top 10 Instagrammable Wine Farms
Fact: There are over 568 wine farms in the Winelands offering first-class views and outstanding wines. So let’s just caveat right at the start to say that picking our top 10 Instagrammable wine farms was no easy feat. Points went to the variety of activities available, location and sheer jaw-dropping power. While each to their own, we don’t think anyone could deny the likes these wine farms would collect on your feed:
1. Bosjes
It’s almost like a mirage. A relative newcomer to the 300+ year old wine industry, Bosjes (meaning ‘small bushes’ in Dutch) is a luxury country estate located in the Breedekloof Valley. When the estate first opened in 2017, the now much-lauded chapel (designed by Coetzee Steyn from Steyn Studio) stole the show on Instagram, thanks to the dramatic glass walls and white curves of the roof. Located just over an hours drive from Cape Town, this gorgeous destination produces wine grapes, olives, peaches and proteas. Besides the avant-garde chapel, there are photo ops all around, including the Chapel Gardens, the Bosjes Kombuis and Tea Garden. A perfect day trip.

2. Babylonstoren
We’d be shot if Babylonstoren wasn’t on our list, as this is the Winelands’ Instagram Mecca. And for good reason too! Since opening their doors in 2010, Babylonstoren has focused on surrounding all visitors with a thoughtfully designed and curated offering. No stone has been left unturned – quite literally. This 200-hectare farm, dating back to 1692, lies in the Drakenstein Valley (halfway between Franschhoek and Paarl). The 3.5-hectare garden is not only beautifully manicured, but it also supplies three award-winning restaurants on the property. Between the cactus garden, the greenhouse, the spa (boasting a stunning salt room built with blocks of Himalayan salt no less!) and the scent shop, your Instagram won’t know what hit it.

3. Boschendal
One thing South African wine farms know how to do very well is to offer more than just wine to its visitors. These days, most wine farms are turning into coveted destinations, ensuring there is something for everyone. Boschendal is leading the way with this concept, offering TWO tasting room spaces (the Cellar Door and Manor House), Die Werf (a fine-dining restaurant) as well as a deli, a farm shop and butchery, a spa, manicured gardens, picnics, mountain bike trails and of course, guesthouses for those wanting to spend more time there. Between all of these activities, there is also a rich history dating back to 1685, when the estate was granted to a Huguenot refugee Jean le Long. But we won’t judge you if you’re just there for a shot in Die Werf’s bathroom – a surprisingly unmissable space for a snap!

4. Beau Constantia
Now, before you start thinking that only places beginning with a ‘B’ are worthy of Instagram, don’t worry – we have plenty of other wine farms from all letters of the alphabet to share! But before we do, let’s give a shout out to Constantia’s little gem – Beau Constantia. After devastating fires destroyed the fynbos and pine forests on the property in 2000, the slopes were cleared and terraced, thereby exposing the great potential for the planting of vineyards. Pierre and Cecily Du Preez purchased the 22-hectare property in 2002, and since then, the striking vineyards have gone on to produce an impressive range of cultivated varieties including Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. What makes this a gem are the sweeping views (all the way to False Bay on a clear day) from the top of Constantia Nek, as well as access to one of the best-rated restaurants in Cape Town, Chef’s Warehouse. The balance between cutting-edge cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere make this an Insta-friendly hotspot.

5. Vergelegen
Don’t worry if you can’t pronounce it – you’re not alone. But that’s not the point of this idyllic wine farm. As South Africa’s second oldest estate, this location is brimming full of history and atmosphere, inviting visitors to take a slow walk around the 17 manicured gardens (remember to take a shot in front of the tree planted in 1700!) or dine casually or top-end at the estate’s award-winning restaurants. What’s extra lovely is that if you have little ones with you, there is an excellent child-friendly playground outside the Stables Bistro, which is not only practical but also designed with good aesthetic and safety in mind.  Side note: If you have a chance, book a cellar tour to check out the modern, multiple level, gravity flow cellar first hand! Totally Insta-worthy, trust us.

6. Delaire Graff
There’s good reason for Delaire Graff being known as the ‘jewel of the winelands’ and lands itself as one of our top 10 Instagrammable wine farms. Located between the Hottentots Holland mountains and overlooking the vineyards of Stellenbosch, the estate belongs to Laurence Graff OBE – Chairman of Graff Diamonds Holdings. No expense has been spared in creating a perfectly executed tasting room, spa, hotel, restaurant and retail store. One of the most striking spaces to visit is the heavily-guarded on-site Graff Diamonds jewellry store, which houses pieces comfortably priced in the hundreds of thousands. But for a perfect shot, our recommendation is to sit outside on the Wine Lounge terrace at sunset, enjoying a tasting and soaking in a truly breathtaking view that will have your followers sending you heart eyes.

7. Cape Point Vineyards
When you think Noordhoek, ‘wine farm’ might not immediately come to mind. But as it happens, Cape Point Vineyards is situated at the very end of Chapman’s Peak Drive in Noordhoek. This mountainous location means the venue overlooks the Atlantic ocean, the False Bay coast, as well as a vast area of fynbos leading up to the coastline. The views are nothing less than breathtaking – where else do you get direct ocean and vineyard views? As it’s within Cape Town city limits, this is a great spot to head to for a wine tasting followed by a leisurely lunch, or if you’re up for something a little more romantic, a picnic on the lawn next to the lake (yes, a lake). Hello pretty!
8. Spier
So remember we mentioned how South African wine farms are really good at becoming destinations? Spier is another example. It’s actually quite hard to keep up with how much they have going on – whether it’s an art exhibition (this past summer they had a super Instagrammable ‘Light Art Festival’), a new restaurant opening (Vadas Smokehouse has an American-style pecan nut pie that will make you want to drive out there just to try it), or an Eagle Encounters birds of prey rehabilitation centre, there is A LOT to take in (and take photos of) at one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. Beyond the perfectly manicured gardens, the hotel is found in a cluster of colourful, flat-roofed buildings that are reminiscent of homes in the historic Bo-Kaap – inviting visitors to walk around and get lost in the bucolic beauty of this private paradise.

9. Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines
When you hear the words ‘Mr Singh’ and ‘Franschhoek’ together in one sentence, you know the outcome is going to be nothing short of amazing. And so it is with Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines. First opening in 2016, The Leeu Collection’s founder Analjit Singh partnered in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines alongside Chris and Andrea Mullineux, the skilled winemaking duo behind these award-winning wines. The Wine Studio, their elegant tasting venue, is housed on Leeu Estates. Upon entering the estate, you will be gobsmacked at how much attention to detail there is across the 68 hectares (168 acres) of landscaped gardens, manicured vineyards and indigenous fynbos. As Mr Singh is an avid gardener himself, the Leeu Collection properties have been stylishly and meticulously landscaped and is worthy of your feed. As is the wine, the spa, the hotel and just about everything else on this pristine property.

10. Spice Route
Last but certainly not least is another Cape Winelands ultimate ‘destination’ – the Spice Route. Named after the historic Dutch East Trading Company shipping route, this restored wine farm houses a diverse collection of artisans that celebrate Cape culture and flavour. While the main call to action is the Spice Route Wine tasting room located in a cosy cellar-inspired space, there is a veritable cornucopia of activity to keep all visitors busy. Start the day with breakfast at Chefs Liam Tomlin and Neil Jewell latest restaurant, Jewell, which has a picturesque view of the Simonsberg mountains. Next up, head for a beer tasting at one of the Cape’s pioneering craft beer breweries, CBC, before enjoying a chocolate tasting next door at DV Chocolate. If there’s room for lunch, try a burger special at Barley & Biltong, before wrapping up the day with a coffee at DV Cafe.

There you have it, our top 10 Instagrammable wine farms! We’re confident to say that by the end of the day, you’re pretty much guaranteed to have filled up your phone memory with all of the images you’ll take between tastings and adventures. Snap, upload – and don’t forget to tag us on Instagram! And if you have any other wine farms worth mentioning, let us know in the comments below.

The Tehuana are a fascinating matriarchal society based in small town of Santa Domingo Tehuantepec, Oaxaca State, Mexico. The name Tehuantepec, the corridor of land on which the people reside, was given to the area by the Aztecs. It means ‘wild animal hill’ and it is a testament to the ferocity of the Zapotec warriors who lived there. Today, the descendants of the Zapotec have continued to make their presence felt across Mexico and the world thanks to the huge influence and popularity of Tehuana traje (traditional dress) and it’s embroidery. The region is famous for its wild velas; traditional fiestas where women proudly parade through the streets in their most flamboyant regalia; most notably their huge starched white lace headdresses known as the Huipil Grande, and their beautifully embroidered floral dresses.
As the Isthmus of Tehuantepec is a slim strip of land separating the Gulf of Mexico from the Pacific ocean, for decades, treasures from the Far East and the Philippines passed through the region on the way to Europe. Because of this unique geographical blessing, the people of the Isthmus were exposed to all kinds of marvels never before seen in Mexico or anywhere else in the Americas. The embroidered silk shawls from Manilla which travelled through in huge quantities were undoubtedly a huge influence on their textiles and fashion. Such garments are what inspired the women of Tehuantepec to create their own elaborate embroidery techniques, which are as influential today as they were then.
A lady at local Vela wears a traditional gala Tehuana dress.
Strong Sisters
The widespread popularity of Tehuana traje is a prominent contributor to what enables the region to operate as a largely matriarchal society. Women from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, unlike many other women in Mexico, are typically the purse bearers as they are able to make good money selling their traditional textiles. As the breadwinners, they are financially independent so marriage is not a necessity and divorce is a very achievable reality. The respect afforded to women by men is therefore high and has resulted in a much fairer society than in most of the rest of modern Mexico. There is even a much celebrated third gender, muxe, who are largely speaking biological men who identify as female or feminine, dressing in the same flamboyant traditional dress as the other women. There is a three-day vela dedicated to muxe, the Vela de las Intrépidas party, held in Juchitan every November.
Frida’s First Choice
Another factor contributing to the worldwide status of the Tehuana traje as the quintessential Mexican dress was the fact that the intricately embroidered huipils and skirts of Tehuana women were adopted by Frida Kahlo as her signature look. Frida resonated and identified easily with the dress for two reasons, firstly her mother Matilde was from Oaxaca and had been photographed as a child wearing the Tehuana dress alongside the rest of her family, and secondly because the traditional dress of the Tehuanas was known nationwide to be the trademark of the most independent and proud indigenous women in all of Mexico. For those reasons Frida painted many portraits of herself wearing the Tehuana traje, including; Self Portrait as a Tehuana 1943, Self Portrait 1948, My Dress Hangs There, Self Portrait with Loose Hair 1947, and Las Dos Fridas 1939, to name a few.
Two ladies stop and pose for a photo outside a local shop on their way to a local vela in Tehuantepec.
The Traditional Tehuana Dress and Accessories
The Tehuana gala dress which is normally worn for Vela’s consists of a huipil (a straight rectangular top) made from either satin or velvet that is embroidered with ornate floral or geometric borders which frame the neckline and chest. A huge A-line skirt which is gathered at the waist and traditional trimmed with starched and pleated white lace. Skirts for the most important occasions are also embroidered to match the design of the huipil. Fabric flowers and ribbons in complementary colours are clipped and braided into the hair, and copious amounts of gold jewellery replicating Spanish coins are worn to complete the sensational look.

What They Wore
One of the excellent aspects of guys's style is that while patterns reoccured, such as the polyester match of the 70s as well as the punk look of the 80s, it constantly appears to move back in the direction of a tidy as well as masculine look. The 80s' fashion for guys resembled a mixed bag that had slim tights, natural leather trousers, as well as coats, parachute pants (or hammer pants), leg warmers, very brief shorts, torn as well as stone-washed denims, frilly puff-sleeved t-shirts, strangely striped shirts, skinny neck connections, Hawaiian t shirts, jams, nylon tracksuits in neon shades, members-only jackets, sports jackets with shoulder pads with Dexter shoes and also converse sneakers.
Tumblr media
From shoes, clothes, and also hairstyles, practically every little thing handled to develop an impact and also several of which are still in vogue. Always there is an expect the designers that the youth want an adjustment in the style and also are glad to maintain the pattern with a fusion of Western as well as indian mix of trendy wear. The bottom line of body puncturing for men are ears and also as a result of this, lots of clever fashion makers recycled the males's hoop jewelry. First making waves in the style risks and also shaping 1960s style for her duty in Barbarella, the award-winning actress was the initial major celebrity to do an exercise video clip. Fingerless handwear covers were one more odd 80's style craze, and also it seems to be returning into style. While design is owned since they are 2 separate qualities or practices Fashion is a passing pattern followed. Dancewear was an unbelievably prominent trend as well as the 80s ladies's clothing additionally consisted of the still common bat wing coat, shell fit, tights, plant tops as well as off shoulder t shirts. Not simply for money guys (although they shook the crap from them), suspenders ended up being a prominent device over pants, in fluoro environment-friendly, pinks, and other terrific tones. His vocal style had resemblances to that of other grunge singers blended with the classic noise of rock-and-roll. Make sure to check out Shannon's blog and to follow her for lots of 90s goodness. Around the mid-eighties, fashion ended up being motivated by styles of the 70s with the young group wearing bell-bottoms, tie-dye tops, as well as homemade jewellry. Leg warmers were around well prior to the 80s became, however they had actually traditionally been made use of for feature, not style. Fingerless handwear covers are definitely 80s design, and also it doesn't. issue how you get them in this way. The climbing British fashion industry brought a new variety of road style concentrating primarily on the young consumers. Her closet included fashionable sets from slip outfits and also mini skirts to plaid co-ords that rightfully give her the title of a fashion icon. Yet today 80lere return to the area of fashion in an intense way the presence of hissettirince of this post periodic guncellestigine decided, as well as below to show you. The 80s females style is taken into consideration to be genuinely a very colorful, vibrant, and also in many cases outrageous. The grunge and alternate phenomenon in the 90s resulted in the decline of glam metal bands and also hair metal bands. You could still look back with desire on the trends you adhered to when Valley Girls, preppies and shoulder pads ruled the day. In 1984, females's style was controlled by just what was at the time called menswear. Teenagers of today times have actually included themselves so much with fashion that they don't obtain enough time for other job. See the motion picture a couple of times, or simply look at pictures of the Unaware movie styles to draw inspiration for your very own modern-day girl sonnenbrillen herren's Unaware fashion style. The Gucci GG3017S will certainly have you falling in love with its diamond layout symbols on either side of the lenses if you like the bejeweled and also ruby look.
Tumblr media
With the increase of technology and social networks, the fashion industry has never been closer. When style aware ladies felt that these fashion accessories looked as good with denims and miniskirts as they did with tights, the legwarmers quickly left the gym. Whether it's hair, footwear or clothing, get rid of the fuss- it makes the alpha male feel awkward.
