Guess's on How Sasappis died.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasappis is the last ghost for us to learn his death. Sass is very private (undead) person, and we have been given no real/clear hints to his death. His ghost power (To enter into the dreams of the livings) could easily correlate to him being a story teller, and not necisarly "He died in his sleep, after catching a sever fever, that also caused him to have very strange dreams. Note I do not believe that Sass died of a fever. They would have incorporated some sign of it into his character. He would be more tired, feel more cold, possibly have a "unexplainable sweating problem". He also does not have any vibsiable gaping wounds, like Pete, Flower, or Stephanie, so that rules out death by attacker. So the question is how did Sass die
Now he could have died of some kind of sickness, but I do not think it is very likely. For one thing he is implied to have had a sudden death, just days before an important tribal ceremony he was planning/supposed to take part in. Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't most sickness take a period of weeks, months, years to do him in. A second thing again he isn't really sickly in the the show. All the cholera ghosts are flushed and still hacking. Issac will sneeze and mention stomach pains. But Sass seems fine, so if he has any kind of sickness then he has been masking it for 500 years. That is really sad.
He also could have could died if he went walk in the woods one night and fell from a cliff or out of a tree... but if that happened well that is kinda anti-climactic for how long we had to wait. I would rate that on the same scale as Thorfinn dying because he went walking with his helmet, through a storm and was struck by lightening. It is just a case of him not being as careful as he should have been. Not nearly an impressive follow up to Alberta or Hetty's more recently revealed deaths.... But you could make it more sad. Sass and his crush Shiki are implied to have died in the same year. Sass says that when they were alive, he was ghosted by Shiki after gifting a freshly killed deer to her family, as a jester of love. What if that was because Shiki actually went missing (i.e. died) shortly after, and Sass went out to search for her?
Another death I have considered was a food related one. A detail of Sass's character is is the most in love with food smells (the closest they can come to eating) of all the ghosts. He hangs out in the kitchen whenever Jay is cooking, consistently begs Sam and Jay to cook more of his favorite smelling food: pepperoni pizza, and I am honestly half expecting him to move into the barn once Jay's restaurant opens... What if Sass's love of food is actually a hint at his death? Maybe he had an allergy and accidentally ate something he was not supposed to? Or, maybe he had diabetes or some other dietary need, a crop or the meat from a particular animal, and Sass died when it was wiped out or disappeared. With so many people in the U.S. having dietary issues, and the countries known love of food, I could see the show choosing to write an episode on dietary importance, and the need for people from all walks of life to have access to healthy food.
My finale theory is one I have actually gotten off Tumblr, from the people who are fans of both the CBS and BBC series. Some people are suggesting Sass got bit by a poison snake or something and died from the poison venom. The puncture marks are small enough for Sass to be able to conceal with his clothing. Apparently something of the similar nature happened to BBC's Kitty? And I actually know a really good way to blend that into Sass's personality and a possible reason for why he became a ghost. Sass as mentioned loves stories and is a gifted story teller. But also as mentioned he is very private person who gets nervous about speaking in front of crowds. A week before the tribes festival Sass's father gave him an eagle's feather, which was believed to help bring confidence and courage. But what if Sass was still nervous/afraid afterwards. What as the days got closer got more more nervous/afraid, until he decided to do something reckless and stupid, to prove to himself that he could be brave. Something like walking through a more dangerous (poison animal infested) part of valley, telling himself "If I can brave this I will have no reason to be afraid of anything anymore". While that would not be the most exciting death, it would be very tragic, and it could set up "Overcoming the fears he had as a living", all of them, as Sass's unfinished business. Essentially, he would need to become a more rounded and confident person. Note that seems to also be Pete's unfinished business. Sass and Pete are roommates, and we have had at least a few really nice episodes exploring their relationship. It would be really cool if that continued to him and Pete having to teach themselves the same thing, but in different ways.

Sass having a possible food related death really makes a lot of sense. I also like the idea I've seen where his cause of death is like romance related (climbed up on rock to make big gesture about how much he loved Shiki and like, fell off or something like that.) I really do not know with him. I think when we finally get his COD, it will be surprising.
I absolutely believe that it HAS to be something with Food.
It's the only thing that would explain why he doesn't have any obvious signs of his death and why he is so obsessed with Food.
On the other hand, he seems like the type to die in an embarrassing romantic way like while he's on the way to woo Shiki.
God, I love Shiki, really, really, want THAT relationship over the Sass/Jessica thing.
Anyway, totally derailed.
I really wanna know his COD.

I know she's not a member of the main eight but because she's actually part of Sas' life, can we add in Shiki's death story to Sass's? Maybe put them in the same episode? Cause I love her and want to see more.

I just realized it's been a second since we got a heavy Sasappis episode or even just a scene/subplot and I love the Hetty-centric episode telling off her husband but like...I miss my boy

CBS Ghosts Hotel Au
Here’s a synopsis of an au I’ve had for Ghosts for quite a while:
Samantha Woodstone, determined to get her bed and breakfast on the map, agrees to host a big event which the hosts will play handsomely. Problem? She has two weeks to prepare and needs a new head chief. She soon meets the perfect candidate, Jay Arondekar, an excellent chief however how long will it take before her boss and employee relationship take a turn?
Meanwhile, checking into the bed and breakfast is newly divorced dad Pete Martino and his daughter Laura, wanting to spend time with her before she moved off for college. His daughter, however worried that her dad may never find love again after her mom. Fortunately, the odds turn into her favor as her father pines over entertainer/singer, Alberta Hayes. A woman with a determination to get out of a contract with her manger/cheating bootlegger boyfriend and away from her creepy stalker.
Elsewhere, Issac Higgintoot tries to become co-manger at the hotel, however Nigel Chessum, an old British rival from his years in law school. As their friendly rivalry continues as they fight for the job, Isaac makes a discovery about himself he wasn’t prepared for. The question reminds, will Nigel feel the same?
Native American, Sasappis, is determined to get the spotlight as head performer at the BNB. To get an okay from Sam, he must perform a groundbreaking story, requiring him to find a muse. As the week progresses, he reunites with an old childhood friend and crush of his, Shiki, he believes he finds his muse. Unfortunately, he meets Jessica, one of the two new interns. He soon finds himself in one of his favorite tropes of all, the love triangle.
Looking to reconnect with his son, Thor agrees to a job as security guard at the BNB. As he sees his son again and his grandchildren, Thor struggles to overcome his prejudice beliefs to be a part of his son’s life again. Fortunately for him, he meets former cult member and hippie, Susan ‘Flower’ Montero. As he spends more time with her, determined to let go of his hot-headed behavior, he soon realizes his feelings for her go far beyond platonical.
Finally, the host of the event Elias and Hetty Wood along with their son Thomas, stay at the hotel for Elias and Hetty to renew their vows. Hetty just can’t wait for this to be over, tired of her stale marriage. However, she meets young, finance bro, Trevor Leftkowitz. The young man, desperate to get teenage girl, Stephine to stop hitting on him, he and Hetty set up a strangers with benefits situation. As time past though and the ceremony comes up, Hetty wonders if staying married to Elias is truly worth it.
Unbeknownst to the majority, an evil scheme created by Elias lurks around. A plan made to steal ownership of the BNB and ruin Sam’s life.
Through friendship, change, and love, these strangers’ lives all intertwined in the span of just two weeks. The only question left is, will love triumph or will they be left miserable?
I may or may not write a fic of this. I don’t know yet.

Love is in the air for Ghosts.
After a failed attempt at romance with car ghost Jessica and an ill-fated long-distance crush on Lenape spirit Shiki, Sas will get another chance at love in Season 4, it was revealed during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last weekend.
Not much is currently known about Sas’ love interest, except that “we have a crazy way for Sas to meet someone this season,” co-showrunner Joe Port teased at the event. (Could it be courtesy of Pete’s power? Port did tell TVLine that the troop leader will be bringing one of his new ghost pals back to the mansion.)
The new paramour’s introduction couldn’t come at a better time, because “I just think Sasappis is really excited to fall in love,” his portrayer, Román Zaragoza, tells TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett in the above video. “I think he’s got the taste of it. I think he wants to just dive more into what that could be for him. And I think he’s got a lot of support from all the other ghosts about how to handle situations now. So it’s cool to see that vulnerable side of him.”
And Sas isn’t the only one whose heart may be opening up to new people. Now that his pal Pete can travel beyond the premises of Woodstone, he’ll be taking advantage of that ability to venture outside the B&B and interact with other ghosts.
“I hope, in this coming season, he’s going to get to continue to explore either relationships that he’s already started” — like with Allegra Edwards’ Donna? — “or new relationships,” says Richie Moriarty, who plays Pete. “It’s exciting because, like, a whole new world truly has opened up to Pete. So he’s going to be meeting a ton of different ghosts this season, and I’m very excited to play all that.”
One spirit that Pete won’t have to travel far to encounter is Patience (played by Mary Holland), the Puritan ghost who dragged Isaac into the dirt. And if you think that was scary, just wait until you learn what she can do with her special ability.
“We get to learn what Patience’s ghost power is, and the power is intense,” Moriarty teases. “I think it throws everyone in the house off. So we all are a bit standoffish with Patience at first. We’re all a little bit terrified.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Zaragoza and Moriarty preview the fallout from the Season 3 finale cliffhanger, and talk about Sas and Jay’s unique friendship.
Ghosts Season 4 premieres Thursday, Oct. 17 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

CBS Ghosts - Whodunit
Thought on tonight’s episode.
I am going to start with - I love Trevor and he’s NOT that dumb.  So I HATE the B plot.  I also HATE that they keep bringing up the ‘Christmas thing’ as if that make ANY sense to use to ban him from the computer (which is totally unfair) since Bela/Eric WANTED it as well.  I HATED THIS PLOT SO MUCH.
But I love that they came clean to Sam and Sam was able to stop it.  So, happy ending, but I still say they aren’t THAT dumb.  Also, Sam was cute “usually it’s older people, but I guess you are older people.”
NOW, the A PLOT!
First of all, why the hell are the younger ghosts aren’t part of it?  Secondly, I loved seeing Shiki and kind of “AH LEWIS - damn”.  I really wish Todd had been there, but that would’ve made it much harder to involve the ghosts.
I love the whodunnit episodes.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode.  It was so great to learn more about Alberta and it was fun for the run through the different suspects and why they work/don’t work.  OMG, I love that we’re right about Thomas being the killer.  I also love that Earl/Thomas were a thing.
I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT HETTY KNEW - ESPECIALLY, since she’s so bad at apologizing and that she was INSISTING at the Heart attack angle.  I do like that Alberta isn’t going to forgive Hetty that easily.
The scene with the Isaac/Thor/Sass attempting to spy on the Hetty/Alberta conversation - that was hilarious. GUYS you’re so BAD at this.
Fun fact, I loved that Jay mocked Nigel and clearly there’s problems.  It’s awesome :). Yes, annoy someone else, Jay!  I like you for that. :)
Final thoughts - the ending with the idiot plot went well, so I’m going to say I enjoyed the episode.  HOWEVER, I really wish that the idiots would be part of the A plot because it MAKES NO SENSE when something BIG is happening to your fellow ghosts to NOT BE INVOLVED IN SOME WAY!

So I’ve talked about CBS ghosts on here before and I’m gonna do it again
Cause ever since watching the BBC version I’m wondering who is gonna get the Mary treatment and get sucked off first.
I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out who the most unproblematic characters are, so here are my candidates.
Flower
I mean come on look at her all she does is vibe. We know how she died and shes not exactly at peace with it but she’s a whole lot closer to it than a lot of the rest.
Sasasppis
And if it is him I’ll stop watching cause fuck that. We know how he died. We’ve seen him resolve so much in his past. Besides that thing with the cute office ghost Shiki he’s doesn’t have much going on. Now lets all lets gather round and pray to the tv gods that its not him. 🙏🏽
Robin.
Do need to explain? Mans is just chilling like, he could go at any minute now. Like, i’ll miss him i will, but i’m not mad I get it I do. Rip legend
Pete
Yeah so its probably Pete. We know how he died. We’ve seen him come to terms with his death and forgive the perpetrator. He got to meant his grandson and made peace with his family. His work as the mediator would be greatly missed but I’m thinking another ghost is gonna have to step in soon cause theres not much left for Pete in this world.
Its also very possible that no one will pass on and we’ll get to keep the cast we know and love, but it was fun to theorize about who could be the one to make it to the other side. Do you have any theories on who’s ascending first? Do share I’m so curious to hear.

CBS Ghosts - 4x5 Live Reaction
This one is about Alberta - should be interesting.
Under the cut for spoilers.
LMAO Sass going into the dreams of Jay.
Pete mentioned the powers bragging and then said sorry "hetty".
Someone wanted to shoot a porno???
He was obsessed with me - wasn't he famously gay? - let me have this Trev - OMGGGGGG!!!
This is hilarious.
"This is getting sad"
I love Mark - "I'm not your contractor, I'm an artist".
Sass loving on the new girl - what is this... omg do I know her????
I love that they're all into her.
"Bruce warned us about people like you" - LOL.
Isaac vs Hamilton again!
OMG I thought she died!!
Even Hetty likes her!
We need Marissa to die. It'll be fun!
The mall... big performance.
OOOH SAM STANDING UP FOR HERSELF. I LOVE IT. :)))))
Sass still going into his dreams. James Beard Award.
Sass definitely made her pop into Jay's dream. This is hilarious - he can have a relationship in Jay's DREAMS???
Isaac trying to support Sam and failing. LMAO. At least he tried.
Alberta's face - "it wasn't politics..."
Alberta is clearly projecting onto Sam and trying to make her do something she doesn't really want to do. Sometimes, it's just better let it go.
LOL - Alberta's busy???
HOW ARE THEY STILL OPEN when they rarely have guests???
OMG - Alberta's training and Sam just shrugging off Sass going into Jay's dreams to be with a girl that doesn't know he exists???? NOT TO BE FRIENDS WITH JAY???
Poor Sam and Jay, they have INSANE ghosts.
LOL Flower's advice.
Trevor's face when he said "you know her".
Trevor's so supportive (he doesn't have a lot of options) and it's hilarious. I like this scene.
Why are they here - We're bored. - Hasn't she gotten this by now??
So much money wasted with those plates.
Alberta's rough as a coach.
Jay - "damn it Sass." - no secrets.
"The problem is and you'll like this - she hasn't appeared again."
THIS IS SO WEIRD. Why are they so okay with this??? Is this no different than Alberta/Sal or whatever last season??
Montage Training!!
LOL Hetty/Isaac here is great.
This is weirddddd.
Alberta is so harsh! "Bertie play dirtier"
LOL Pete's supportive, and Trevor pointing out that he's dating Jay... THIS IS TOO FUNNY.
Pete "I'm jealous you're dating Jay"
OHHH Sass.
OHHH Alberta's plan... AND FLOWER REMEMBERING THIS IN FRONT OF SAM. Poor Sam.
Hetty: "Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to entrust your secret mission to Flower."
Flower: "Yeah, you really messed up."
OMG. Why is that so funny!
Alberta, you're not helping.
Awwwww an apology. I like that. Yeah, Alberta that much was obvious.
A little????
I do like this Sass/Trevor/Flower/Pete idea here. It's great.
Awwww Sass.
Pete is smug and trying to bring one back to Sass!!! ( I so want his power to allow him to bring Shiki to the mansion)
"I can't put an order in" - OMG TREVOR.
OH No, she's going to get sick.... oh good, Alberta's helping.
OHHH She got the part! I love Jay's genuine excitement.
Trevor checking in a Sass - "How you doing, bud?"
"I'm good, it's weird being in the same room as my ex though."
Flower Asking, "Marissa or Jay"???
OMG That's too funny.
LOL "Baby steps."
Aww, Sam has become a monster.... "I'm so proud."
Overall, I liked Sass' storyline better, but I love the episode as whole. This season has been so great.

CBS Ghosts Review: A Star Is Dead
I always rewatch an episode before I do reviews, and on second watch, this episode wasn't as bad as it felt the first time I watched it. It had really good bones.
The idea of Sam being in a play, and Alberta helping her get to the lead role is a good one. I just wish that, once again, there wasn't some embarrassment that she's carried with her for ages as a reason why she needs Alberta's help in the first place. Her habit of holding on to past embarrassment and letting it just eat away at her life until it swallows up an episode to fix it is one of my least favorite things about Sam as a character.
And yes, Alberta's training was a bit intense and she was pushy and a lot of it was more for her than Sam but she realized it and apologized and that's good. It made me so happy to see Sam get the lead in the end and when Alberta helped her with her nervousness by saying "Pretend you're just singing to me." As someone who spent a lot of time in theater as a teenager, that really hit and almost made me cry. It was so sweet, as was watching them dance together at the end and Jay cheering her on and taking pics at the end.
And like I said in one of my pre-review posts, I hope we get that same sort of encouragement from her to him when the restaurant opens. (Also Hetty and Isaac being the peanut gallery as Sam and Alberta trained was wonderful. Those two play off one another so well.)
Now...about the Sass' power plotline: I hate that they're mainly showing it as a way he takes advantage of Jay. Like I get that he's lonely and all that (and eventually Jay seemed okay with the whole thing) but it's still a bit weird and I wish they would stop making me hate Sass' power cause it's a really interesting power!
Another downside of this episode for me (as is usually the case when the plot primarily focuses on Jay or Sam rather than one of the ghosts) is that it didn't seem like there was a good enough mix of ghost plot and living plot. I hoped (as I said multiple times) that the plot would involve the players being haunted by an actress who missed out on Sam's role before and the ghosts would have to stop potential sabotage (and in the story version I plan to make at some point with this idea, that would help with the Sass issue as well, at least temporarily).
But it was what it was and not every one can hit. I love the idea of Sass being potentially bi and I hope Pete keeps his promise about using his traveling powers to help the other ghosts and brings Sass someone interesting. Shiki perhaps? Or someone new? Who knows? I guess we'll see. And on another side note...why the heck didn't they follow up on the Donna cliffie this week???

Happy Thursday, everybody! Time for CBS Ghosts. Let’s see what “Flower’s Article” has in store for us.
- Ooh, a flashback to 1968. We’re finally getting some more info on Flower! She’s robbing a bank with her hippie commune. I gotta say, for a character I’ve been complaining is too much of a one-dimensional stereotype, I’m pretty excited to see how this plays out.
- Apparently, Flower’s not her “real” name. It’s Susan.
- OK, for the first time, Sam’s in the wrong here. She keeps pressing Flower for this bank robbery story, even though Flower is visibly upset by this. I thought she cared about the ghosts’ well being.
- Heyyy, more ghosts! Sam meets them at the offices of the new job she wants. There’s Winky, age 12, who was trampled by a horse (There’s blood on brow), and Shiki, a Lenape Native American from a few centuries ago. (I forgot to note which century, sorry) Both of them sound pretty modern, but the main cast of ghosts has ruined this standard of detail for me.
- ... Dammit, Sam. She just blurts it out the bank robbery story in a desperate attempt to be hired at this Hudson Valley paper. But you know what? My previous frustrations already cover how I feel about this. What puts it over the top is that Jay’s on SAM’S SIDE about writing the story?! What about his whole thing with “don’t mess with the worlds of the living and the dead” in the previous episode? This time, he KNOWS that Flower is conflicted about it. It’s just frustrating.
- Wow, Isaac and Alberta are totally willing to get this story out of Flower. Admittedly, they’re curious that she suddenly doesn’t want to tell it. Apparently, she tells this story all the time to the ghosts, so it’s odd she’s avoiding it now. But their fascination with it just shows off how little they respect Flower.
- Oh hey, Sasappis knows Shiki! He was in love with her back when they were both alive. He gave her an entire deer once and then she just... left. Sam says she "ghosted” him, which does not go over well with the ghosts. (”So, is the point that ghosts are untrustworthy?” asks Pete) That’s actually a fun joke.
- Jay cares that Sasappis and Shiki might eventually might meet up in the afterlife, which is nice.... but this leads to him trying to teach Sasappis about “the games.” That is, the way men should act like they don’t care when messaging girls. (Sam needs to physically bring messages between the two of them) God, I don’t like storylines about how men have to act aloof in order to get girls. This is just making me like Jay even less.
- Pete, I don’t appreciate you spreading the myth of the friendzone. (Although Pete’s version of the friendzone is kinda sorta my method of winning people over. I also befriend them, which 9 times out of 10 makes them see me like a puppy or younger brother. I want to make it clear that I DON’T believe in the non-Pete concept of the friendzone and find it harmful. But Pete’s version did just describe my romantic life. Perks of being demisexual. I also love his attitude that even when his befriending method fails, “at least you have a new friend!” He’s so sincere about it.)
- ISAAC AND ALBERTA DON’T KNOW FLOWER’S LAST NAME. (It’s Montero) This is actually pretty funny, and I can believe the ghosts don’t know stuff like this if it either never comes up or just doesn’t come up often. Also, I like this other side of Flower, who can see what her friends are playing at and is willing to point out that they aren’t as close to her as they think.
- FUCK PLAYING THE GAME. GODDAMN. (Sorry, I just had to get out my renewed frustrations about men “playing games” when messaging girls.)
- The commune never donated the money because Flower STOLE it! (TWIST)
Here’s what happened. The commune kept trying to put it to a vote where the money should go. It was down to either the feral cats of Costa Rica or narwhals. Flower and her boyfriend Ida, however, realize that they’re living in pretty bad conditions themselves, so Flower suggests spending the money for their own good. The others disagree, so she and Ida take the money, and apparently the bear thing happened not long after. This is a pretty cool story, and again, it’s such a relief to see this other side of Flower that I didn’t expect. It’s not what I thought she was like, but not in an OOC way. We’re just finally seeing more than her hippie stereotype, and it’s so refreshing.
- Isaac and Alberta, don’t shift the blame about making Flower upset. Sam may have been in the wrong from the start, but you guys are supposed to be her ghost friends. Being dead and wanting excitement is not a great excuse to not take responsibility.
- Now, this scene is nice, and it almost makes up for Alberta and Isaac’s earlier bad behavior. They both admit to never having done things that they bragged about doing. (But we, the audience, never heard about it) Alberta never shared the stage with Cab Calloway. She never even met the man. Isaac was never at the Boston Tea Party. He was in Boston, at a tea party, at his aunt’s house. But what really makes the scene great is that they tell Flower she’s the nicest out of all of the ghosts. Now that’s great character interaction, and it’s honestly the truth. Flower even forgives Sam (after she rightfully apologizes) because Sam had a moment of weakness, just like Flower had. Way to tie everything together!
- Ooh, this was a clever way to wrap everything up. Early on in the episode, Jay picked up coffee for him and Sam from a coffee shop called Daisy’s. Daisy was Ira’s nickname for Flower. It turns out that he used the money they stole to establish a fair trade coffee shop! It’s got almost a hundred locations now. One of the cups explain that Ira Klein made his business in memory of his late girlfriend. The profits go to underprivileged communities and bear safety education. (Aw, sweet)
Flower is delighted and wants Sam to write about it. The Hudson Valley paper loves the story and hire Sam. Daisy’s Coffee Shop even likes the story because the statute of limitations ran out for the robbery and it makes them look badass.
- THANK YOU SASAPPIS for wanting to give up the games. You’re not that kinda guy.
.... and he wants the games back. Goddamit, I hate that this episode implies that this method of flirting is right. (And it DOES imply that. Once Sam is upfront about how much Sasappis misses Shiki, she gets very embarrassed and leaves the room. Later, Jay shows Sam a loving text he tried to send after their first date that never went through. They laugh about how it makes him sound like a “psycho.”)
Listen, I’m all for teaching that you shouldn’t be too FORWARD with people. That’s important. But you should also be more obvious that these games aren’t the answer. Advertise a happy medium, goddamnit.
- Apparently, ghosts can have sex, but they can’t finish. It’s very frustrating. (I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but Sasappis yelling “Sam, come back, I want to tell Jay about ghost sex!” is very funny.)
And that’s “Flower’s Article”! Honestly, I’m conflicted. Some parts of this episode are actually pretty good. I loved seeing this other side of Flower and fleshing out her character. The final character moments between the ghosts when they’re apologizing is also sweet, and I love the “everyone wins” feeling of the article’s publication. Sam gets her job and Flower learns her boyfriend fulfilled their dream of helping people. It’s nice!
... but not only do the earlier moments of character trickery make me a little uneasy, but the B plot just annoys me. Gender-related dating bullshit is stupid. Again, the potential of CBS Ghosts is dragged down by American sitcom nonsense.
Well, that’s another review in the bag! Let me know your thoughts and if you agree/disagree with my points.
