You know your cat loves you when, even when he's easily scared by the littlest of things, he begins to sit beside your shower behind the curtain, screaming at you until you get out. Then, once you get out, he let's you pet him while you're still soaking wet because all he wants is your love and cannot wait another moment for it.

He's been doing stuff like this since his brother died in February, and it's amazing how he can be even more clingy and protective than he was before.

My boy is facing his fears just to stay with me at all times! 🥺

im a cat behavior apologist till i die. cat bit u? u probably did sth to piss them off. they act like you dont exist? u probably did sth to piss them off. they yell at you? get over it. its a cat. they will be nice to you if you treat them well. simple as that. grow up!

Listen. Chopsticks in a paper wrap are a fun toy. Not only do you have a thing that goes clack-a-clack-a-clack but you also have a thing that goes crinkle swoosh. AND THEN it's part fidget toy thing because THE CHOPSTICKS !!! ARE REMOVABLE! Also they're lightweight and easy to pick up, which is nice- more empowering than awkward large or long thing. For a fun time between human and cat, have the human hold this toy by the top part of the sticks and GENTLY try to touch the feet or tail of the cat before cat slaps the sticks. Good cat will not try to swat your hands or fingers and will understand this is a splendid game, seeing who is the fastest. It is recommended if you win a few times in a row to intentionally lose so the other has a chance to win and feel good about themselves. This can include going slower, or pretending to get distracted by nothing. In the end it's about play and spending time with your interspecies family, and toys that make sounds are much better than toys that are visual only.

I could think of no better way to share the news than this!

So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.

Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.

Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!

Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)

He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!

I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!
