"Is there something wrong?" Alucard echoed the question asked of him. "That is a complicated thing to answer. The quick answer is no, there is nothing wrong at this moment...." The dhampir replied as he avoided eye contact. It was clear to observe that Alucard was troubled, something on his mind was distracting his thoughts and causing sorrowful emotions in his heart. What these thoughts were it didn't seem like he would share them easily.

"I'll be okay, theres just alot on my mind." Alucard put on a warm smile to try and put the other at ease. "Your concern is touching, thank you. You don't have to worry about me."

An alert had been issued out from the outskirts of Romania, deep within the Carpathian Mountains. Monsters of all kinds have been attacking the cities, and a magical hex has engulfed the land in an artificial eternal night.

Located at the center of it all was a towering castle that wasn't there before, which civilians claim appeared suddenly in an ominous bolt of lightning.

Reserve heroes who aren't involved in bigger threats have gone to assist and combat the threat, but none have been able to get closer to the Castle as a barrier surrounds it.

The only way to break through is with magic, and the Justice League Dark are currently fighting monsters in New York.

Which leaves only one who can get through to face those within the Castle.

Raven, the daughter of Trigon and member of the Teen Titans from Jump City was told to investigate the monster appearances in Romania. She had arrived to the scene through teleportation and took a look around.

Was he caught staring? Subtlety wasn't precisely Olrox's nature when it came to business, war, love, anything. If he saw something he disliked, he did not refrain from showing his disgust. If he saw something which interested him, then he watched, or rather stared in this particular moment. Olrox produced a sound of amusement as he swept his gaze away but only momentarily. Crystal glass was twirled in his hand, and the viscous blood coated the sides with deep crimson. He took a dramatic sip and then two, licked the blood away from lips and teeth, and set the elegant glass back down on the mantel for the fireplace.

" You do have something on your face. Beautiful golden eyes full of loneliness and full lips that never touch a smile. So, more accurately, it's everything about your face that I'm looking at. "

Olrox smiled — something handsome, coy, and teasing, as was the nature of the beast. Cursed and blessed. He knew there was a polite order to affairs, keeping a socially acceptable amount of distance between strangers, yet rules were only a foolish hindrance. Lithe body shattered the gap between their bodies in a few fluid movements, and he bent his head down to peer closely at Alucard's @bloodxstarved face. Beautiful and haunted. Olrox's curtain of onyx hair surrounded them both like darkness meeting the light. Silky hairs were tucked behind his ear as lips curled into a deeper smirk.

" How could I not stare at the famed half-vampire, half-human? It would be like ordering a wolf not to howl at the moon . . or a vampire not to feed on fresh blood. "

"Not at all too personal, I'll gladly volunteer the reason. In truth, Adrian was a... Challenging child. Not behaviourally, his rebellious streak only came out after his mother's passing. But physically, he was very... Different. There is very little known about how to raise a dhampir child, and we had no idea how his vampiric half would interact with his human half. His teething left toys, clothes and furniture shredded. His powers were unstable and clumsy, developing at random and being hard to control. His growth spurts were nothing like how a human would grow. When he turned 14, he practically transformed physically into an adult overnight. His mind worked differently, developed differently, thought differently. Every milestone was a relief, every new development a surprise to navigate. We simply had our hands full with raising him, to have added a second child in the mix would have been disastrous. Who knows what unforeseen variables that child would've introduced into our lives? No, one was enough for the time being. For the sake of our sanity, if you will."
