1. how do they sit in a chair?

Like an idiot. He can be an awkward sitter, he’ll perch up on a stool with his legs crossed, or lay on a couch with his legs ups against the wall behind the sofa and be upside down for all to see.

2. in what position do they sleep?

His position is taking up the entire bed. As soon as he splats into bed, he’ll sprawl his lanky body out to take up the entire space of the bed if he can. He’ll wake up with the pillows and sheets everywhere but on him.

3. are there any foods they hate?

There isn’t a lot of food he dislikes, but if he had to say, he’d frown and “blep” his tongue out at vegetables. 

4. what of their personality do others envy?

Most likely his constant upbeat attitude. He seems to see things in a way people don’t, he questions, but without cruel intent. He’s constantly seen with a smile on his face and always likes to mention the good qualities in other people.

Cassius Viresse

Born to a Dalish family, Cassius and his twin sister, Lyny, were stolen at infancy, making a long journey from the Brecilian Forest to Minrathous in Tevinter. Unfortunately, Cassius didn’t make it, however, a spirit chose to inhabit the boy, extending his life. Now eighteen, he still ventures on with the spirit lying semi-dormant inside of him.

Always the ever cheerful and smiling elf, he made the best of what he could in the alienage of Highever, making use of his bow, he would often hunt things bigger than he could handle, getting himself and his sister into a fair bit of trouble, though harmless trouble at that.

With the curiosity of a child and a toothy smile on his face, he continues on being a playful thorn in everyone’s side while searching for a place to truly call home.

Drew @gazzub/ @ventures-through-thedas and I’s twin city elves, Cassius and Lyny Viresse for some reference work, that and these two needed more attention than what we have been giving them. More info on them under the cut.

Cassius is @ventures-through-thedas and is a happy-go-lucky, cheerful and hyperactive young man, with quite the curiosity that lands him into trouble, often bringing his sister along into it, but also protecting her as well.

Lyny is mine, and is rather shy and skiddish, but no less curios and cheerful than her brother, and while more likely to stutter through first meetings with new people, she will always back her brother.

Originally, they were born to a rather old, and also rather corrupt, Dalish clan. As newborns, they were stolen away from their parents and psychotic leaders of the clan and brought to Tevinter for a short time, then finally brought to Highever, where they spent the rest of their time (until presently) growing up and living an ordinary life... Or as ordinary a life as an apostate mage and her spirit inhabited brother could.

Core Desire: His sister, making sure she is both happy and safe. Curiosity, for the world and all of its pleasures. The spirit within him, hoping it does not take over and making sure he is in control.

Aim: Despite being so active, when it comes to aiming, he is calm and collected, his aim true.

Arrow making: After learning how to do so at an early age, he’s become quite adept at it.

Wrestling: When without his weapon, he has learned the ways of grappling, especially that of holds to make an enemy submit.

Tragic Flaw: 

Spirit: The spirit that inhabits his body, often finding ways to otherwise interfere in his life.

Tact: Lack thereof, often forgetting who he is addressing when asking questions..

[Hands] for Cassius please ? :)

His fingers are quite long, much like the rest of his limbs. He has short nails, though they’re not in the best condition. If the ends aren’t bitten off, then they’re just dirty from whatever he’s been doing in the day.

They’re normally covered in a few cuts here and there from his activities, often clumsily causing these wounds when arrow making. Due to this, he often has a few bandages wrapped around his fingers

To the touch, his hands are quite dry and rough, though he has gotten into the habit of putting on lotion because of his sister before he goes to bed.

½ = How the character feels about people taller or shorter than them

He’ll treat them quite the opposite of each other. Cassius himself is is 5′11, though his lanky figure makes him look all that much taller. With smaller people, he likes to tease, poke their foreheads, ruffle their hair and put them into headlocks if he thinks they would be playful enough 

With taller people, he sees them as a “challenge”, wanting to wrestle them down to the ground, or will ask them to put him on their shoulders

More often than not, Cassius’ greetings are delivered with a toothy grin and a small wave of his hand. He’s quite an animated lad, so a simple greeting might seem larger than life, though this is with people he feel are friendly. With people he feels funny around, he’ll just…stare.

(´ q ` ” ) = The character’s “guilty” pleasure

The one thing that most likely makes Cassius feel guilty is when his sister, Lyny, is the butt or victim of his jokes and pranks. It’s not often he does it, but when he does, he’ll immediately feel bad if it looks as if she’s upset, though it is safe to say she’s gotten used to his antics out of anyone.

☸️ Has your muse had any near-death experiences? How did it affect them?

Does actually dying count as near death? :D

When Cassius was but a baby, he and his twin were stolen from their Dalish clan and taken to Tevinter, where it was decided they would live in the Highever alienage, however, on the journey toward Tevinter, Cassius’ didn’t make it. The journey proved too difficult for the baby and he perished, however, a spirit inhabited his body, pushing him to live on.

To this day, it’s only effected Cassius a handful of times. He doesn’t like to talk about it and often dodges questions if they ever come up. It is more or less because he himself doesn’t understand it all, even though his sister is a mage, the two very rarely talk about it.

While not a mage, the spirit within him did give him some kind of connection to the Fade, perhaps one of the reasons he wakes up so tired is because he spends his time sleeping exploring the Fade at night.

copper: how I think my muse will end up when they’re older

It’s hard to imagine Cassius older than what he is. I think he’ll always keep that somewhat childish demeanour about him. I can definitely imagine him being good with kids, not necessarily as a father figure, but that older brother figure who he passes on his skills to with a bow and arrow!

dolomite: a sleep headcanon

Cassius likes to splay and spread. He’ll take up the entire bed, usually with one leg hanging off the side. If someone happens to be sharing a bed with him, Cassius will most likely end up with body parts on top of them. An arm over their face, a leg over their torso.

He’s a quiet sleeper, he doesn’t make much sound and once he’s asleep, he stays asleep, though he very rarely dreams, at least that he knows of.

OC of the day : Cassius Viresse. Young elf ranger with a contagious smile. He belongs to @ventures-through-thedas. He loves cookies - especially those made by Xalynir. He’d fight for them - literally...

He helped me work with extreme facial expressions - the largest smile I’ve ever made (my mouth hurts now, because I was smiling all along x) ) I’m definitely drawing him again

🏨 - Sleeping position

Cassius likes to take up a lot of room in whichever bed he is in. Usually, when he first gets into bed, he’ll lay on his stomach, arms tucked under the pillow, almost hugging it to his face, while one leg dangles off of the bed. 

When waking up though, he’s usually on his back, a leg still dangling off of the bed, a hand on his belly and the other tucked under his head/pillow. 

Don’t sleep in the same bed as him, you’ll end up with him splayed all over you and with a foot to the face.

👶 - As a kid, what were they like?

Not a lot has changed since Cassius was a kid. He was always curious, he always asked questions and he was always liked to climb things. The vhenadahl of his alienage in Highever was one thing in particular he liked to climb, which angered a lot of the other elves, though if there was one thing he’s kept since was a kid, was the trait of not taking much thought into what others thought of him and his twin sister, Lyny, though it would prompt him to ask why people prayed at the tree, what happened to Arlathan, why they lived here. 

🔋 - What makes them feel better after a long day?

Food and a bath. Despite being very physically active a lot of the time, he does enjoy just sitting in a nice warm bath to chill, though he’ll still make a mess. His twin, Lyny, likes to think he plays pretend while bathing, using splashing for theatrics. 

Food wise, he enjoys stews, usually with rabbit, ram or druffalo meat in it.
