You know why this chapter 14 pt.2 made me a crying mess after reading? It's bcs of how it answered my questions i had since i started playing this game, the way they reveal why garu's gem is separated from him, unlike the other clan members who obviously and mentioned that it is totally attached to their body and even tried to take it out but they just can't and it is very painful.

The way it made sense to me how g/karu's granpa doesn't sound like just some dude who just decided to live in the dead zone, and the stories makes more sense why his granpa, or in this case cashiel, wanted garu to meet new people bcs he rlly is just a damage child and was literally forced to grow up, he was concern that garu might go through the worse again🥹

I just care for garu so much, but i rlly wanna acknowledge the fact that it was not only eiden who told how much garu has grown, but also kuya too😭 like im not even being bias to kuya as he is my fav, but remembering that kyuya was also the first to help garu with this yokai things plus him bringing to the banquet, they were together in their first event, it just doing something in my brain that kuya looks out for garu too.

~note on the etymology of Castiel~

Eric Kripke says that he got the name for Supernatural’s first angel character by googling “Angel of Thursday.”  Because the show aired on Thursdays.

Nowhere lists “Castiel” (or anything close to Castiel) as the “angel of Thursday” but the influential 1994 kabbala/medieval grimoire mashup A Dictionary of Angels says the “Angel of Thursday” is Sachiel. 

I am 99% sure that Kripke found this name, flipped the two consonants to get Cashiel (possibly testing the waters, not wanting to use the name of an actual angel case people got mad) then changed up the spelling slightly to make it easier to pronounce.

However, there is a historical angel named Cassiel. Not sure Kripke knew this.

Cassiel exists in both Islamic and Jewish traditions, so the name has about 40 different spellings and half of them start with Q. It also gets translated a bunch of ways - main ones are “speed of god” “anger of god” and (symbolically I guess) “fire of god.” 

Anyway, my point is I think the Supernatural writers began identifying Castiel with specifically Cassiel. This would explain their really, really weird insistence on spelling Castiel’s nickname “Cass” instead of “Cas.” It also helps with translating the stuff Cas writes on Dean’s ribs. He sure seems to be referring to himself as “angel of fire.” [1]

Cassiel is also big character in famous German arthouse film Der Himmel über Berlin (English title: Wings of Desire) and its American remake City of Angels. Both of those films seem to have been pretty big influences on the way Supernatural angels look and work. And the character Cassiel is extremely torn between his angelic nature, and his love for humanity. So I guess the writers thought that was appropriate.

okay i have clarification so family headcanons for aziraphale and crowley

if we’re going with the thing i have built in my head then im going to take this opportunity to ramble about that one oc of mine. theyre kind of like a reluctant sibling, and were created entirely to antagonize Tim in his ask box, but then demanded more backstory and is now in a wip of minetheir placeholder name is Cashiel or *checks notes* Kesefiel(which im just trusting other people to be accurate about because im bad enough at english) they’ve been on desk duty overseeing aziraphale’s expenditures for a few millennia now and have a complicated relationship with him. theyre willing to cover for him at times, they tattle on him at others, and while they dont entirely get what’s so great about earth, they do tend to live vicariously though aziraphale’s stories, because hey, it sounds better than being stuck behind a stack of papers listening to whatever bland elevator music is currently occupying the majority of their ability to think and wearing thin on their professional composure. they’re still hoping for that weed.aziraphale finds them annoying for the most part and resents being indebted to them, but does appreciate the occasional help. they aren’t very close, but they get along to some degree

aziraphale begins to keep his distance from individual humans over time, but does tend to get attached to groups and communities he relates to. he gets particularly protective of them and is often seen as their weird reclusive uncle, and some of them take to attempting to look after him in return

tends to find himself in mentor roles to kids, which he loves but wont admit to. ends up sheltering street kids at various points in history with the excuse that they make a good network of spies and pickpockets.
