surprise money is huge because once I have an old purse I don't use to my little sister and my stepdad told me there was a ton of cash in there and I was just??? about it. bc how do I forget about money like. ended up giving my lil sis $5 for finding it lol

I'm definitely depositing it in savings haha but I have to hold off since I need to physically go to the bank to deposit cash and there isn't a location near my apartment. (I use online banking and direct deposit most of the time, or use an ATM if I need cash, so I don't commonly actually have to go to the bank lol.) I may keep some of it as emergency cash, since in general I rarely carry cash.

hahaha hey you guys guess what. you'll never believe it. got the guy who's in charge of my fraud case on the phone and he was like "who'd you give one-time security codes to yesterday" and i was like "the guy who called me from the fraud department after they noticed a weird login in florida??" and he was like "that was the fuckin hacker. you got got. IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!" i handed my entire savings over to a fucking guy on the phone on a silver platter. like some kind of fuckin rube. bro

it’s my least favorite time where i beg for money on the internet bc we live in a capitalist hellscape. tldr it would be amazing if folks could help me pay for gas to get to work today (aiming for around $25.)

basically, i’ve been off work for a significant chunk of the last two-ish months because i had surgery and then got covid, and since i’m not salaried and don’t have sick time, if i don’t work i don’t get paid. all in all, i lost out on around $1000 worth of missed work. i’m not trying to make all that up, because i’ve been able to mostly stay afloat, but i have to go back to work today and i have -$9 in my bank account and no gas in my car, and my next paycheck for the remote work i was able to do doesn’t hit till tomorrow, so i just need enough to get to and from work today.

Granted I am prone to very strict budgeting, but somehow I managed to squeeze all my bills that needed to come out of this paycheck plus the NIJISANJI purchase I'd been wanting to make (they have sold out of the Mysta acrylic stand for the Luxiem 1st anniversary but I found another I really liked that was low stock and damnit I'm going to have a Mysta acrylic stand if it means ransacking the fucking warehouse) and still have some extra money

From a paycheck that is way less than what I'm used to making.

My bank card got locked due to some fraud activity and I'm waiting for a new one to arrive, but because it's been locked I've basically been locked out of my bank account all week. I leave for Houston tomorrow and I still don't have my new card, meaning I essentially have no access to my money. I have bills that autopay via my debit card (vs the account itself) that can't be paid, I can't use cashapp to send my boyfriend money so he's having to pay for everything right now, and I can't use the atm to withdraw money. I'm going to call my bank and see if I go to a branch if they can just give me a new card and cancel the one they've sent or at least let me withdraw some money so I don't feel so helpless.
