Transgender activist beaten by police on wing of jet
A Needles, California-based transgender activist Xochi Guerrero, 38, (formerly known as Marcelino Guerrero) was beaten by police Saturday morning on the wing of a Noatak Airways Boeing 737 after she fled from security at McCarran airport in Las Vegas. Airport police released a statement Saturday evening indicating Guerrero was initially being taken into custody after she staged an impromptu demonstration against the police dismantling of a shrine to transgender sex worker LaQuanna McDermott. McDermott died during a police-involved shooting on Fremont street in August and her shrine was located on East Carson avenue near the site of her shooting, until it was taken down by police last week. Guerrero's demonstrations in the past, which are well known to Las Vegas residents, have typically involved performance art routines that include nudity and public defecation as methods of raising awareness of the challenges that transgender people face in the traditionally male-dominated STEM fields. Guerrero's previous demonstrations have taken place at locations throughout the Las Vegas area, including on the famous strip, but were generally approved by city officials ahead of time, said a spokesperson for the Las Vegas office of public integrity. In this case however, Xochi Guerrero likely felt that the dismantling of McDermott’s shrine called for a more immediate response and due to her status as a person suffering from homelessness, was unable to fill out the required paperwork.
Tumblr media
After complaints from travelers regarding the protest, airport security moved in to take Guerrero into custody. According to eyewitnesses, the police were using officially banned methods of subdual including chokeholds, to bring her into custody. Guerrero was able to flee the security officers and ran out of the terminal and onto the airport tarmac, where she was nearly struck by aircraft service vehicles. The activist subsequently managed to run onto the runway and clamber up onto the Noatak airways jet by mounting the engine cowling. It was at that point that the Clark county criminal response team arrived at the scene. Special agent Curt Wroclavski, 46, frustrated at Guerrero's refusal to debark from the aircraft, and ignoring orders from his commanding officer, used his police baton to repeatedly strike Guerrero while she was 'praying for justice', according to onlookers. This resulted in the activist removing her socks and shoes and attempting to escape officer Wroclavski by climbing up onto the jet's winglet. Eyewitnesses on the jet used their phones to record the 'brutal and violent' attempts by Wroclavski, a white male officer, to remove Guerrero from the aircraft wing. Noatak Airways passenger Kelsey Baum of Vancouver, Washington, told reporters the beating of Guerrero was 'clearly racist and obviously a hate crime'. Another passenger Dr. Sunny Choi of Beaverton, Oregon, told reporters that Wroclavski was 'violating Guerrero's sense of sanctuary' on the wing and she should have been allowed to remain on the aircraft. Following Guerrero laying down on the wing after being beaten, officer Wroclavski, in direct disregard of the transgender woman's safety and of approved police procedures, allegedly knocked her from the winglet onto the tarmac using his foot, according to witnesses present at the scene. Guerrero sustained unspecified injuries in the fall. An ambulance transported Guerrero to St Benedict's medical center in Las Vegas where she is currently in unknown condition.
Tumblr media
Noatak Airways spokesperson Ebony Mcfadden stated that the airline unequivocally supports the rights of transgender people and the rights of all activists of color to protest inequality and have offered Guerrero a free flight to any of their domestic destinations. Meanwhile, the Clark county criminal response team superintendent Demarion Crawford, has placed Wroclavski on unpaid leave and announced his intention to fire the allegedly transgressing officer as soon as the investigation into Wroclavski’s actions is concluded. The investigation into Wroclavski's alleged misconduct is expected to be wrapped up by Monday afternoon. Clark county prosecuting attorney, Rosalia Ocampo, indicated Sunday morning that her office will unveil charges against Wroclawski and airport security personnel as early as next week. Two security staff members have already been fired by the airport management, but their names are currently being withheld as specified by their employment contract. In her official statement on the incident, Ocampo noted that during this holiday season and amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic it is vitally important to remember that the rights to free expression are not confined only to 'officially sanctioned spaces' but should occur whenever and wherever transgender activists feel the need to protest unequal justice. Local Las Vegas activist Yolanda Pimentel told reporters outside the St Benedict medical center that Guerrero's beating shows the need to defund and divest in law enforcement because ‘people of color and gender non-conforming individuals are disproportionately targeted by police’. In addition, Nevada governor, democrat Stan Czerny, released a statement Sunday calling for immediate justice in the Guerrero case and promised to redirect state funds for covid relief to communities of color. No official update on Xochi Guerrero's condition is available.

Adam Laxalt Trump Ally Who Filed Suits To Overturn Nevada Election Running For Senate
Donald Trump
Adam Laxalt, an ally of former President Donald Trump who filed lawsuits to overturn 2020 election results in Nevada, is running for the U.S. , the Associated Press reported.
Laxalt, a 42-year-old Republican, seeks to replace Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. The attorney and Navy veteran made a run for governor in 2018 but lost by four percentage points to Steve Sisolak. Two years later, he worked as Trump’s campaign co-chair in the state and filed lawsuits, that failed, against Nevada’s mail-in voting. Laxalt also tried to stop the counting of votes in Clark County.
In 2014, Laxalt became America’s youngest state attorney general at 35.
Andy Orellana, a spokesperson for the Nevada Democratic Victory group that supports Cortez Masto’s reelection campaign, said Laxalt as an attorney general “used his office to benefit his special interest donors.”
“He became Donald Trump’s main lackey in Nevada by orchestrating bogus lawsuits to prop up the Big Lie and overturn the 2020 election,” Orellana added.
For more reporting from the Associated Press, see below.
Laxalt filed late Sunday to run, setting the stage for what could be a decisive battle as both parties fight for control of .
He is part of a Nevada political dynasty. Cortez Masto succeeded U.S. Senator Harry Reid in 2016 and became the first Latina elected to the U.S. Senate.
“While Senator Cortez Masto is putting Nevadans first, Laxalt is only ever looking out for himself,” he said.

Biden Administration Quietly Allowing Silent Amnesty Of Migrants
Eric Wright
The Biden administration is quietly allowing a silent amnesty by suspending or dismissing thousands of deportation cases pending in immigration courts, The Washington Times reported on Monday.
Terminating or dismissing a case removes it from the active docket, granting migrants de facto permission to stay in the country even though they do not hold legal status.
Deportation orders, as a percentage of decided cases, have decreased to 35% from January to June, which is about half the rate of the last two years of the Trump administration.
The number of case terminations has also gone up sharply even though immigration judges are deciding fewer cases.
Theyre dismissing these cases out of hand, and then ICE is releasing these people from custody, one Justice Department source told the Times.
Jeremy McKinney, the president-elect of the American Immigration Lawyers Association said that implementation of the current adminstrations common-sense immigration enforcement priorities are shifting those cases away from prolonged litigation and towards resolution through established paths of legal immigration.
Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge and currently a resident fellow in law and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, pointed to a May memo from John Trasvina, the principal legal adviser at ICE, who urged the agencys attorneys to use prosecutorial discretion to curtail deportations.

Republican Adam Laxalt Is Running For The United States Senate In Nevada
CARSON CITY, Nevada Republican Adam Laxalt ran Sunday night to run for the U.S. Senate in Nevada, setting the stage for what could be a decisive battle as both parties battle for control of Congress. .
Laxalt, who is part of a Nevada political dynasty and an ally of former President Donald Trump, aims to overthrow Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto, who succeeded US Senator Harry Reid in 2016 and became the first Latina elected to the Senate. from United States.
Laxalt, a 42-year-old Reno-based attorney and Navy veteran, is the son of former US Senator Pete Domenici and the grandson of the former governor of Nevada. and US Senator Paul Laxalt. Adam Laxalt rose to fame in 2014 after becoming the nations youngest attorney general at age 35 and clashed with the Republican governor during his tenure. Brian Sandoval and his moderate allies in the state party.
He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2018, losing to the current governor. Steve Sisolak by four percentage points.
Democrats have won the last two Senate elections in Nevada by less than five points, but they fear a low turnout similar to 2014, the last midterm race held with a Democrat in the White House. That year, Republicans won nine seats to regain control of the Senate, and Laxalt rode the Republican wave to victory in the state attorney general race. Historically, the opposition party has won seats in midterm elections during a presidents first term.

Republican Mayor Of North Las Vegas Is Running For Governor Of Nevada
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two-term Republican Mayor of North Las Vegas, John Jay Lee, has announced his candidacy for Governor of Nevada.
In his video announcement, Mayor Lee launched a tirade against the Democrats, suggesting that his former party have been taken over by the socialists. Socialism is a cancer, and if we dont fight back, itll kill us, he stated.
Since 1994, John Lee has been a member of the Democratic Party and it is only this year that he finally decided he has had enough of the left-wing values that has recently been plaguing the party that he once was a part of. He also took a jab at incumbent Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, asserting that he strangled our economy and freedom.
Lee was born in the U.S. Airforce Air Force Base in England in 1955, where his father was deployed. He then moved to North Las Vegas when he was six years old and continued his schooling there. He was also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America as a kid and has continued his commitment to the organization by becoming a Member of the Executive Board from 2003 till present.
The hard working Lee started out taking blue collar jobs in his youth. His first job was as a dishwasher at the Silver Nugget casino and arena. He would later on upgrade to the more challenging task of plumbing. Eventually, this job led him to opening his own company in 1991 called Vegas Plumbing, which he still operates today.
Prior To Election As Sheriff
Lombardo was born in on November 8, 1962. His father was an Air Force veteran. He moved to Las Vegas in 1976 and graduated from Rancho High School in 1980.
Lombardo served in the U.S. Army, National Guard, and Army Reserve. He became an LVMPD officer in 1988. He rose through the ranks, becoming a sergeant in 1996 and a lieutenant in 2001. In October 2011, Lombardo became the assistant sheriff in charge of the law enforcement services group, which included the department’s divisions in charge of technical services, information technology, radio systems and professional standards.
Lombardo holds a B.S. in civil engineering, and a master’s degree in crisis management, both from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Republican North Las Vegas Mayor Running For Nevada Governor
LAS VEGAS North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee announced Monday hes running for governor next year, challenging incumbent Democrat Steve Sisolak.
Lee switched his political affiliation last month from Democrat to Republican, citing a shift toward socialism in the Democratic Party a charge he repeated in his campaign announcement Monday.
Im proud to kick off my campaign for governor of Nevada because Nevadans deserve a leader who will put Nevada values first, not the liberal, radical agenda we see today from Steve Sisolak, Lee said in a statement.
After leading Nevada through the pandemic, Governor Sisolak is completely focused on re-opening Nevadas economy, putting shots in arms, and bigger paychecks in workers pockets, Sisolak campaign spokesman Jim Ferrence said in a statement.
In an interview, Lee faulted Sisolak for failing to speak out against a shift in leadership in the Nevada State Democratic Party, in which a slate of candidates affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America were elected to most of the partys top leadership spots.
I never saw him one time stand up to them or say to them were not going down this path here, Lee said.
He said he disagreed with Sisolaks handling of the pandemic, calling statewide shutdown measures imposed and restrictions draconian for Nevadas rural counties that are more isolated than the counties that include Las Vegas and Reno.
Nevada is considered a swing state thats been trending blue in recent years.
Republican Venture Capitalist Joins Race For Nevada Governor
LAS VEGAS Republican venture capitalist Guy Nohra announced Tuesday that he is running for Nevada governor next year.
Nohra, 61, joins a GOP primary race that includes Las Vegas-area sheriff Joe Lombardo, North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee and Reno attorney Joey Gilbert.
They are vying to take on incumbent Democrat Steve Sisolak, who will be making his first reelection bid in 2022.
Nohra said in a campaign video released online Tuesday that he wants to turn around Nevadas economy and teach children how great America is while keeping critical race theory out.
Critical race theory i s a framework legal scholars developed that centers on the idea that racism is systemic in the nations institutions, maintaining the dominance of whites in society. It is not typically taught in K-12 schools, but it has become a target of the right.
Nohra also said he wants to make state government more efficient, maintain Nevadas lack of a personal income tax and expose the election fraud we all know is there.
Nevada election officials, including Republican Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, have repeatedly said the 2020 election results are reliable and accurate. Some GOP officials, including former President Donald Trump, have made repeated, baseless assertions that voter fraud deprived him of re-election.
He is a father of two daughters and lives in Reno, having moved to Nevada from California six years ago, according to his campaign.

Laxalt, whos part of a Nevada political dynasty and an ally of former President Donald Trump, is aiming to unseat Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto, who succeeded U.S. Sen. Harry Reid in 2016 and became the first Latina elected to the U.S. Senate.

I Switched To The Republican Party Heres Why
Watch The Video
Like every Nevadan, I grew up in awe of the American experiment. As children, we looked up to the flag and were proud of what it symbolized and what it stood for – freedom, opportunity, and promise. Back then, we knew both parties – despite their political differences – shared the same values. Today that is no longer the case.âTodayâs Democratic Party has embraced a socialist, extremist agenda that hurts working class families, restricts freedom, and extinguishes opportunity for millions of Americans – particularly working class minorities who deserve the chance to give their families a better life. Thatâs why I voted for President Trump twice. Thatâs why I had an A+ rating from the NRA and their endorsement in my time in the state senate. I refused to compromise my pro-life, pro-2nd amendment values, even though it meant losing my state senate seat.Though Iâve been a registered Democrat on paper my entire life, I made the switch to the Republican Party â because on some things, thereâs simply no compromise.

LAS VEGAS — Sheriff Joe Lombardo has officially announced his run for governor of Nevada as a Republican candidate.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo has officially announced his run for Nevada governor as a Republican candidate.
Hes running in a Republican primary thats attracted North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, who recently left the Democratic Party to become a Republican, and Joey Gilbert, a northern Nevada attorney who has questioned the results of the 2020 presidential election. Former U.S. Sen. Dean Heller also is considering a run and has been making recent appearances before rural GOP groups ahead of any official decision.
Lombardos announcement speech previewed his platform and the talking points that Republicans plan to use in the 2022 midterms. The two-term sheriff, who has never run in a partisan race, said he would block teaching critical race theory in schools, establish an election integrity commission and defend the Second Amendment.
North Las Vegas Mayor Announces Republican Run For Nevada Governor
LAS VEGAS — North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee on Monday will launch his gubernatorial campaign for 2022 as a Republican, challenging Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak.
Lee, 65, will be running as a Republican following a party switch in April. The campaign will officially be announced on Monday morning with a video.
FILE – This May 23, 2011 file photo shows, former Nevada Sen. John Lee, D-North Las Vegas, at work on the Senate floor at the Legislature in Carson City, Nev.
Im proud to kick off my campaign for Governor of Nevada, because Nevadans deserve a leader who will put Nevada values first, not the liberal, radical agenda we see today from Steve Sisolak, said Lee in a statement to media on Sunday night. I will stand up for the constitutional rights of Nevadans everywhere, and will focus on embracing small government, defending free speech, protecting unborn life, and supporting the right to bear arms.
Lee’s statement said he left the Democratic party because it “embraced socialism, adopted radical policies, and turned its back on Nevadas middle class and working families.” He said Nevada’s leadership is “nonexistent” and that Sisolak has “mismanaged” Nevada’s economy.
Gov. Sisolak’s re-election campaign didn’t directly address Lee’s candidacy in a statement.
Lee was first elected mayor of North Las Vegas in 2013 and was reelected in 2017. His term ends in 2022. Lee also previously served on the Nevada Legislature.
Gaming Commission Of Nevada
In 1998, Sandoval was appointed to serve as a member of the Gaming Commission of Nevada, which oversees the state’s gaming industry. The following year, at the age of 35, Sandoval became the youngest person ever to serve as chairman of the gaming commission. During his time on the commission, Sandoval fought national efforts to block gambling on college sports events, worked on regulations limiting neighborhood gaming and worked for regulations prohibiting slot machines with themes attractive to children.
Sizing Up The Gop Field For Nevada Governor
KSNV Las Vegas
Sheriff Joe Lombardo may be the latest Republican to jump in. He may not be the last.
Northern Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei is also mulling a run.
Amodei tells me he’s in no rush to make a decision. He says he’ll probably decide this fall, for a primary that’s still a year away. He says he’s doing his homework because he says beating Democrat Steve Sisolak, especially in his home base of Clark County, will not be easy. His message to his fellow Republicans:
Its like, what is your plan for not losing Clark County by 100,000 votes? And you know what – I know it’s early on but if you want to get people excited I’m sure waiting for some of those folks to start talking about that, the Congressman told me by phone Tuesday from Washington.
I got to tell you I feel no vulnerability in terms of sitting down and evaluating my stuff, Amodei told me, adding, at this point in time I feel no vulnerability because Im all around my district in person, in Vegas.

To win, Republicans would need to win as much of Clark as possible, and run up the score in the rurals, and Washoe.
That said, the GOP field now stands at three: Lombardo; North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee and Reno attorney Joey Gilbert.
Because no party benefits from a large primary. It sucks up a lot of money that could be used in the fall campaign, Lokken says.
Capitol Rioter Running For Governor In Nevada

“I’m not a politician, I don’t ever want to be a politician.” said Gilbert. Hmm…where have we heard that before? Apparently, Gilbert was on something called The Contender, a reality tv show centered around boxing, as he was a former professional boxer, the show also made by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame.
Gilbert was present at the riot. He hasn’t been charged with any crimes, nor is there any evidence that he was ever inside the Capitol. He does, however, have ties to several people now arrested.
A northern Nevada attorney who has questioned the results of the 2020 presidential election and was outside the U.S. Capitol the day it was violently stormed is running for governor.
A video posted on Facebook shows Republican Joey Gilbert told an applauding audience in Las Vegas over the weekend that he planned to challenge Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak in Nevadas 2022 gubernatorial race.
“I have a PhD in success,” Gilbert said in his announcement video. “I’m not a politician, I don’t ever want to be a politician. Let me tell you something that I am probably going to be doing here shortly. And that’s called running for governor.” Gilbert’s announcement was met with a standing ovation and loud cheers, the video shows.
According to the Associated Press. Gilbert is something of a fixture among loopy, rightwing causes in Nevada.
We’ve reached out to Gilbert for a comment but have not heard back yet.
North Las Vegas Mayor
On April 2, 2013, Lee was elected Mayor of North Las Vegas defeating incumbent Mayor Shari Buck. Lee assumed office on July 1, 2013. At the time of his election, North Las Vegas was facing large monetary challenges including a deficit of more than $150 million. Because of employee concessions and a strong management team, he was able to balance the budget without tax increases or layoffs in less than a year.
Lee has made the expansion and enhancement of North Las Vegas Libraries and parks two of his biggest priorities. In addition, his administration has streamlined business licensing procedures, attracting new businesses to the city. Lee also initiated an innovative plan to use state tax credits as an incentive to jumpstart development at the Apex Industrial Park, an effort that could eventually result in the creation of 116,000 jobs to the area.
Lee was re-elected in 2017.
On April 6, 2021, Lee announced he would switch political affiliation from the to the Republican Party, citing what he called the “socialist takeover of the Nevada Democratic Party”.

Former Nevada Sen. Dean Heller is preparing to run for governor in 2022, giving Republicans a high-profile entrant into one of the key contests of the midterm elections.
Heller has meetings with GOP governors, party leaders and major donors at the Republican Governors Association conference this week in Nashville, Tenn., according to three people familiar with the conversations.
It would represent a dramatic comeback for Heller, who lost reelection in 2018 as part of a nationwide repudiation of former President Donald Trump. Heller, who spent more than two decades in state and federal office, has begun talking with potential consultants and has conducted an initial round of polling.
I think hes really committed to this campaign, said Barbour. He would be awfully hard to beat in a primary.

Tom Cruise hasn’t seen daughter Suri in years: Report
Tom Cruise hasn’t seen daughter Suri in years: Report https://ift.tt/2IE7gh1 Tom Cruise hasn’t seen daughter Suri in years: Report
Tom Cruise has not been photographed with Suri since 2013, a year after Katie Holmes filed for divorce and fought for sole custody. But Us Weekly has just reported the actor could see his daughter 10 days a month — he just chooses not to.
“Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,” a source told the outlet. “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.”
RadarOnline.com readers know Katie, 39, is rumoured to have signed a non-disclosure agreement after her split from Tom, 56, promising not to date anyone publicly for five years. But now, Tony Ortega, the former editor in chief of The Village Voice, and a known Scientology critic, has told Us that she also likely signed “some nondisclosure agreement saying she wouldn’t say anything bad about Scientology” to ensure she had primary custody of their daughter.
“She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” he said.

(Toby Canham/Getty Images)
While Holmes has been living a low-key life with her daughter since her breakup from Tom — all while secretly dating comedian Jamie Foxx — the Top Gun star has not stayed in contact with neither her nor Suri, 12.
Katie, too, has completely removed herself from his life and the Church. RadarOnline.com has learned she’s even stopped talking to former BFF Leah Remini, who recently said that if the actress was seen getting lunch with her, she could lose custody of Suri. The Church denied Remini’s claims, calling them “bizarre” and “preposterous.”
//<![CDATA[ ( function() { pnLoadVideo( "videos", "VuBU86ivgOg", "pn_video_866546", "", "", {"is_mobile":""} ); } )(); //]]>
“I’m sure her father, who’s a smart attorney, has probably told her that hanging out with Leah would be considered disparaging the church in the eyes of Tom and the church,” said Ortega. “We were all hoping that eventually Katie would say more and that we’d see them together, but Leah has gone on to become this real lightning rod for exposing Scientology’s abuses, and I think Katie just wants to keep the life she has right now with Suri and not get in a big fight with the church.”

Us’ reveal comes two months after Radar exclusively reported Tom was desperate to take Suri back — but realized he’d already missed out on so much.
While neither Katie Holmes nor Tom Cruise have publicly spoken of their inexistent co-parenting or their issues with the Church, it’s clear the former couple is hiding some dark legally-binding secrets behind closed doors.

1OO IMPORTANT CHARACTER QUESTIONS
this meme, except instead of taking them as asks, i’m just going to fill in the whole thing and post in parts. wish me luck. all parts can be found here.
PART 1: THE BASICS
What is your full name? --- Matthew Simmons.
Where and when were you born? --- Around mid-day, August 19th, 1980, in Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, Michigan.
Who are/were your parents? --- My father was Ben Simmons---short for Bennett. He worked at the power plant, died when I was 14. Accident. A likeable guy, just not the most trustworthy, from what I’ve been told later. My mum was Mi Young Jung before she married my dad, adopted from Korea by an older American couple as a young child. My mum was a pharmacist. She was---she was my whole family for most of my life. She meant a lot to me, taught a lot to me. Kind, intelligent, resilient, brave... She’s dead now, too.
Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? --- No---eh, kind of. My dad had a daughter from another marriage when he met my mum, but her mother kept the custody to herself. I only met her at his funeral. Didn’t get a chance to get to know her then, and I haven’t met her since. Not that I really want to.
Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. --- I live in Southbridge, Virginia, with my family of wife, Kristy, attorney at DCLU, and our four kids: Jake, 6, David, 5, and twin girls Lily and Chloe, both 4. It’s a two-storey four bedroom place about a 25-minute drive from work, and we are gonna grow out of any minute now because three kids’ bedrooms for four kids isn’t gonna work for much longer.
What is your occupation? --- Supervisory special agent in the Behavioral Analysis Unit in the Profiling division of the FBI.
Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as height, weight, race, hair and eye colour, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. --- 6′2, 201 lbs, male with black hair and dark brown eyes. I’m biracial, Korean and Irish. An army tattoo on my left bicep, taken in 2009, the words ‘No one else’ on my inner right forearm, taken in 2018. Most notable of my scars are the ones on my face and ear from an injury sustained during a case a couple of years ago, but I have more around my body: biggest ones being a burn scar on my calf, and where I was shot on my right arm. My clothes are pretty practical: t-shirts, jeans, henley shirts, and durable jackets.
To which social class do you belong? --- We’re in the upper middle class. Kristy’s an attorney, and being an SSA pay in the six figures.
Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? --- No. Not yet, anyway.
Are you right- or left-handed? --- Right.
What does your voice sound like? --- Oh boy. It’s low---not in a sexy, jazz baritone way, it’s not smooth enough for that. Not the way I normally talk. I’ve also been told I talk lower than I sing.
What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? --- Besides work lingo? I don’t know. ‘Gored’ comes up a lot more than with your average fellow, but that’s chasing serial killers for you.
What do you have in your pockets? --- Uh---phone, a piece of paper---a receipt---car and home keys, badge. Nothing special, I try to keep everything else in my backpack if I can.
Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? --- So---I don’t generally like being in the centre of the room. I give people space; back in the IRT days we’d all be scattered across the room but talking to each other just fine. That’s not the problem. The problem is that sometimes, when I there’s something I gotta figure out and I start making progress... I zone out. And you can’t always tell I have because I’m standing further away from people. That’s something people find annoying.---I also don’t always use chairs as intended.

SACRAMENTO, Calif | The Latest: Alleged serial killer worked in warehouse
New Post has been published on https://goo.gl/9KXGgM
SACRAMENTO, Calif | The Latest: Alleged serial killer worked in warehouse
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Latest on a serial killing and rape case in California (all times local):
10:20 p.m.
The man charged with being the Golden State Killer, who killed a dozen people and raped dozens of women in California decades ago, worked quietly for years in a supermarket warehouse.
Save Mart spokeswoman Victoria Castro says Joseph DeAngelo worked at the distribution center in Roseville near Sacramento for 27 years before retiring last year.
Castro says none of his workplace actions would have lead the company to suspect him of a link to the crimes.
DeAngelo, who’s 72, was taken into custody Tuesday as he left his Sacramento-area home.
Authorities say they suspect he’s the man who terrorized people across the state with killings, rapes and burglaries in the 1970s and 1980s.
So far, he’s been charged with eight murders.
___
6:15 p.m.
A California sheriff says a former police officer accused of being a serial killer and rapist was taken by surprise when deputies swooped in and arrested him as he stepped out of his home.
Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones said deputies planned to arrest Joseph DeAngelo when he left his home on Tuesday rather than burst in or knock on the door of the suburban home.
Jones said DeAngelo appeared surprised that he was being arrested in decades-old crimes and appeared to briefly contemplate some sort of plan.
Jones said DeAngelo then told deputies he had a roast in the oven.
Jones said DeAngelo was taken into custody without incident.

This item has been corrected to show the sheriff’s first name is Scott, not Matt.
___
5:30 p.m.
A man accused of committing serial killings and rapes in the 1970s and ’80s in California has been charged with four more counts of murder.
Orange County prosecutors said Wednesday that Joseph James DeAngelo, a 72-year-old former police officer, was charged in the 1980 killings of Keith and Patrice Harrington in Dana Point.
He’s also charged with raping and killing 28-year-old Manuela Witthuhn in 1981 and 18-year-old Janelle Cruz in 1986.
Police have said they believe DeAngelo is the so-called Golden State Killer who is suspected of committing at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across California.
DeAngelo was taken into custody earlier Wednesday as he left his Sacramento-area home.
He’s been charged with eight murders.
___
3:50 p.m.
Comedian Patton Oswalt is crediting his late wife for her work in pursuit of the so-called Golden State Killer.
In an Instagram video on Wednesday, Oswalt says: “You did it, Michelle.”
Michelle McNamara had made it her mission to find the person responsible for at least 12 murders and 50 rapes throughout California in the 1970s and 80s.
McNamara died in her sleep at the age of 46 in April 2016 before she could finish the book she was writing about the case.
Oswalt helped finish the book and it became a No. 1 New York Times best-seller.
On Wednesday, authorities said a DNA match led them to arrest Joseph James DeAngelo, a 72-year-old former police officer, as a suspect.
Police say the book had no information that “directly led to the apprehension.”
___
3:40 p.m.
Neighbors say a man who authorities suspect of being a serial killer in the 1970s and ’80s was prone to angry, profanity-filled outbursts if he couldn’t find his keys or something else set him off.
Natalia Bedes-Correnti said Wednesday that Joseph James DeAngelo never yelled at people but would be on “his driveway yelling and screaming, looking for his keys.”
Kevin Tapia, now 36, said when he was a teenager, DeAngelo falsely accused him of throwing things over their shared fence, prompting a heated exchange between DeAngelo and Tapia’s father.
Tapia says DeAngelo was a “weird guy” and kept to himself.
DeAngelo has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 1980 killings of a couple.
An attacker known as the Golden State Killer or East Area Rapist is accused of at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across California.
___
1:25 p.m.
California authorities say they studied the behavior of a man they suspect of being a serial killer in the 1970s and ’80s and surprised him with arrest.
Sacramento County Scott Jones told reporters that Joseph James DeAngelo was taken into custody without incident Wednesday as he left his Sacramento-area home. He was a former police officer in the city of Auburn.
Jones said DeAngelo also was an officer in Exeter, in Southern California, from 1973 to 1976 “around the time of the Visalia Ransacker cases.” That serial criminal was tied to burglaries and one killing.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert says DeAngelo’s name hadn’t been on authorities’ radar before last week in connection with the “East Area Rapist” case.
That serial killer is tied to at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across California.
___
12:55 p.m.
A family member of a couple who were victims of a California serial killer decades ago said the arrest of a suspect has brought closure.
Bruce Harrington, whose brother and sister-in-law were killed in 1980 in Orange County, told reporters Wednesday that it’s time for victims’ families to grieve and “bring closure to the anguish that we all suffered for the last 40 odd years.”
He cheered the work of law enforcement, who said they arrested Joseph James DeAngelo on Wednesday after DNA helped solve the case.
Prosecutors say Harrington’s brother, 24-year-old Keith Harrington and his wife, 27-year-old Patrice Harrington, were killed in 1980 in their home.
DeAngelo has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 1980 killings of a couple in Ventura County.
An attacker who became known as the “East Area Rapist” is accused of at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across California.
___
12:45 p.m.
California authorities say a man they suspect of being a serial killer tied to dozens of slayings and sexual assaults in the 1970s and ’80s has been charged with murder.
Ventura County District Attorney Greg Totten told reporters Wednesday that his office charged Joseph James DeAngelo with two counts of first-degree murder in the 1980 killings of a couple.
Totten says prosecutors will seek the death penalty against the former police officer.
Authorities in Sacramento County also have arrested DeAngelo on suspicion of murder in the slayings of married couple Brian and Katie Maggiore in 1978.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert says DNA helped solve the case.
The attacker who became known as the “East Area Rapist” is accused of at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across the state.
___
12:35 p.m.
California authorities say DNA in two 1978 killings in Sacramento led to the arrest of a man suspected of being a serial killer tied to dozens of slayings and sexual assaults in the 1970s and ’80s.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert told reporters Wednesday that the DNA helped solve the case in the last six days.
She said the “answer was always going to be in the DNA” and the connection came in the slayings of Brian and Katie Maggiore.
Authorities say a serial killer committed at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across the state. The attacker became known as the “East Area Rapist.”
___
12:25 p.m.
California authorities say the arrest of a suspected California serial killer who’s accused of dozens of slayings and sexual assaults in the 1970s and ’80s comes after tireless work.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert told reporters Wednesday that dozens of people committed their professional lives to the search and spent hundreds of hours seeking “justice for these victims and their families.”
Authorities say a serial killer committed at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across the state. The attacker became known as the “East Area Rapist.”
___
11:30 a.m.
A law enforcement official has identified a suspected California serial killer as 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo, a former police officer.
The official confirmed the identity on condition of anonymity before an official news conference planned for noon Wednesday.
Sacramento County jail records show DeAngelo was arrested overnight on suspicion of two counts of murder cited in a Ventura County warrant.
The FBI says it has a team gathering evidence at a Sacramento-area home linked to DeAngelo.
Authorities say a serial killer committed at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across the state in the 1970s and 1980s.
The attacker became known as the “East Area Rapist.”
__
This story has been corrected to say DeAngelo’s age is 72, not 77.
__
11 a.m.
A victim of a notorious Northern California serial killer and rapist says she’s overjoyed after learning that police believe they’ve arrested the man responsible.
Jane Carson-Sandler says she received an email Wednesday from a retired detective who worked on the case telling her they identified the man and have him in custody.
She says she’s ecstatic to have closure and to know her attacker is in jail.
Carson-Sandler, who now lives near Hilton Head, South Carolina, was one of dozens of women raped by an elusive serial killer police say killed at least 12 people.
She was attacked in her Citrus Heights, California, home in 1976. She and her three-year-old son were snuggled in bed together one morning after her husband left for work when the man broke into her house.
She says she hopes she’ll have the opportunity to face her attacker in person. She says she has a lot of questions for him.
__
9 a.m.
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office plans to make a ‘major announcement” in the case of an elusive serial killer they say committed at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and dozens of burglaries across California in the 1970s and 1980s.
District Attorney’s spokeswoman Shelly Orio says a news conference will be held Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento to make “a major announcement.”
FBI and California officials in 2016 renewed their search for the suspect dubbed the East Area Rapist and announced a $50,000 reward for his arrest and conviction. He’s linked to more than 175 crimes in all between 1976 and 1986.
A woman who was sexually assaulted by a man believed to be the East Area Rapist in 1976 and now lives in South Carolina tells The Island Packet newspaper Wednesday that she has been contacted by two detectives about an arrest.

How to Legally Handle Medical Malpractice?
Medical malpractice has become a greater concern for doctors over the years. The age of lawsuits means that people are quick to sue for any wrongs they feel have been committed against them. While most doctors do everything they can to avoid being sued for malpractice, sometimes there is just nothing they can do. Even when they do everything right, something can still go wrong - and the doctor often takes the blame for these problems, whether they were responsible or not. Unfortunately, it is very simple for someone to bring a lawsuit against another person today, but on the bright side, there is a complex process which rules out most frivolous suits.
There are two types of damages available to victims of medical malpractice. A successful malpractice attorney may be able to secure the client both compensatory, as well as punitive, damages.
Tumblr media
1. Compensatory Damages:
Compensatory damages serve to financially compensate victims of medical malpractice for their own financial losses or damages that may have resulted from the incident. The client may be entitled to compensation for a whole host of medical bills both past and future, including hospitalization, surgery or therapy. The client may also be compensated for pain or suffering resulting from the malpractice. This might include any deformity or disfigurement, as well as physical or mental impairment.
2. Punitive Damages:
Punitive damages refer to money recovered to make an example of the doctor in question. These awards are not meant to compensate the victim, but more to punish the defendant and hopefully deter him or her (as well as the profession) from future misconduct. Punitive damages are more difficult to recover, as the malpractice attorney must prove obvious, reckless disregard for the safety of a patient. The doctor must have knowingly engaged in inappropriate dangerous behavior for punitive damages to be recovered.
Medical malpractice attorneys must be aware of the specific medical malpractice "statute of limitations" governing the state in which the incident occurred, before addressing each malpractice case. The statute of limitations refers to the length of time one can legally wait before filing a claim for medical malpractice. These lengths vary from state to state so it is important for both the client and the malpractice attorney to be aware of their individual state laws governing medical malpractice.
When Do You Need a Medical Malpractice Lawyer?
You need the services of medical malpractice lawyer when you are medically misdiagnosed. Misdiagnosing your ailment can cause serious discomfort to you and your overall health. For instance, an ailment that may have just been treated if well diagnosed may take a permanent recourse if misdiagnosed.
Negligence From Some Medical Doctors
Negligence from some medical practitioners also results in the malpractice. You maybe medically neglected through the doctor's inexperience, use of inefficient medical equipment, experimentation and so on. Whatever the cause of the neglect does not erase the fact that the doctor should have taken extra care to attend to you medically. So you have right for redress when you are medically neglected regardless of the cause.
Medical-surgical injuries are also cases when you require the services of a competent medical lawyer to help you get legal redress. Some surgical injuries result in a permanent disability which could have been avoided. The medical institution where the surgery took place or the individuals or individual involved should be made to pay in case of any malpractice. There have been cases where some surgical instruments are 'forgotten' in the patients' body after the operation. This has caused some deaths, though the statistics are not exact but if you find yourself in such or similar situation. You need a medical malpractice attorney to fight for you in the law court.
Medical Malpractice Advise
Note that in some cases, the medical malpractice attorney may advise you to opt for an out-of-court settlement. Ask him for his reasons and give him every understanding because he is a professional and knows what is best for you. Trusting his judgment and advice will make him pursue your case with the vigor it deserves until you get the appropriate monetary compensation. Consult thoroughly with a medical malpractice attorney and discuss every detail of your case with him so that he can effectively give you the representation that will be fruitful to your compensation quest.
As new medical practices continue to push the envelope, people will seek reasons to sue when things go wrong, but the definition of medical malpractice protects doctors from many lawsuits filed by people who are just looking to put the blame somewhere. Fortunately for doctors who are concerned about wrongful lawsuits, there has been a recent push to reform many of the torts which govern the medical industry. They are intended to eliminate lawsuits filed by people who, for whatever reason, feel they were wronged by their doctors.
