[Theater] Mädchenschule aus Chile in Gießen

Ich hatte Lena Meyerhoff zugesagt, dass ich mir auch die Mädchenschule im Stadttheater Gießen ansehen werde. Ein leichtes Bauchgrummeln hatte ich, da die Theaterstücke momentan nie schlecht sind, aber immer schwierige Themen anfassen, und mich so manchmal am Abend doch sehr fordern. Ich wollte schon früher in die Vorstellung, aber leider hat es diesmal nicht zur Premiere geklappt. Also jetzt am Samstag ab ins Theater und diesmal der Einführung von Lena Meyerhoff folgen. Es wird vieles über die Geschichte von Chile erzählt, über Pinochet und seine Diktatur, aber auch über Salvatore Allende, den Präsidenten von Chile, der bei dem Putsch von Pinochet ums Leben gekommen ist. Die Geschichte von „Mädchenschule“ erzählt von einer Gruppe von Mädchen, die sich 1985 in einem Raum einer Mädchenschule verstecken und dort bis 2023 versteckt bleiben. Sie vergessen einfach Zeit und Raum. Die drei „Mädchen“ die wir kennenlernen sind der Meinung, sie seien noch 16 Jahre alt. Dazu kommt noch ein psychisch gestörter Physiklehrer, der aber im hier und jetzt lebt und tatsächlich ein Lehrer ist. Dazu gibt es noch einen gealterten Jungen, den die drei Mädchen Alpha Centauri nennen. Soweit die Erklärung von Lena Meyerhoff. Was mir bei der Einführung aufgefallen ist, ist etwas was ich auch sehr gerne machen. Ein ähmm oder so ähnlich rutscht mir auch gerne über die Lippen, so wie es diesmal auch Frau Meyerhoff recht oft passiert ist. Ich kann mich daran erinnern, dass es bei Café Populaire wesentlich flüssiger war. Warum dies so war, keine Ahnung, aber es war einfach so und es hat mich etwas irritiert, auch wenn ich dies auch sehr oft mache. Inhaltlich war es wirklich gut und sie hat einem das Stück wirklich näher gebracht, auch wenn meine Angst dadurch nicht kleiner geworden ist, bei diesem Stück wieder komplett gefordert zu sein. Komme ich nun zum eigentlichen Theaterstück. Auf der Bühne ist ein Schulhof aus Beton angedeutet. Man kann den Betonbelag sehr gut erkennen und auch ich kenne dies noch aus meiner Schulzeit. Jeder kennt es, dass man im Theater, Kino und Konzert aufgefordert wird, das Handy auszumachen. So auch diesmal und genau dabei sitzt dann auf einmal einer im Publikum und redet in ein Handy. Natürlich hat es auch vorher geklingelt. Auf der Bühne steht Alpha Centauri, der von David Gaviria gespielt wird. Und dieser Schauspieler ist genau so, wie ich mir ihn in einem Buch vorstellen würde, wenn ich es lesen würde. Mit dieser Ausstrahlung kann ich nur sagen, besser kann man diese Rolle einfach nicht besetzen. Aber ich schweife mal wieder ab. Es hat ein paar Sekunden gedauert, bis ich gemerkt habe, dass dieser Mann im Publikum ein Schauspieler ist. Ganz ehrlich, ich habe schon ähnliche Situationen erlebt, zwar nicht im Theater aber auf anderen Veranstaltungen. Dieser Mann mit dem Handy im Publikum ist der besagte Lehrer, der von Ben Janssen gespielt wird. Diese ganze Situation ist schon komisch, in die man als Zuschauer auf einmal gebracht wird, und es lockert das Ganze auf. Und irgendwie macht mir dieser Schauspieler bei diesem Stück mehr Freude, als beim „Hundepark“. Als erstem Mädchen hilft der Lehrer Maldonado aus dem Loch. Maldonado wird von Carolin Weber gespielt. Sie ist noch immer komplett in der Revolution verhaftet und flieht auch erstmal aus der Schule, kommt aber später wieder und flucht darüber, dass sich doch nichts verändert hat. Carolin Weber hat mir ja schon beim „Kalten Herz“ sehr gut gefallen, diesmal gibt sie der Figur so eine Ernsthaftigkeit, aber auch einen gewissen Humor. Ich kann noch nicht mal sagen, woran ich das festmache, aber irgendwie ist trotz der Schwere der Figur eine gewisse Leichtigkeit zu spüren. Als nächstes krabbeln Riquelme, die von Anne-Elise Minetti gespielt wird, und Fuenzalida, gespielt von Paula Schrötter, raus. Vor allem Riqueleme spielt sich im Laufe des Stückes immer wieder die Bälle mit Maldonado zu. Fuenzalida spricht zumindest am Anfang einfach nicht. Es gibt im ganzen Theaterstück immer wieder Situationen, wo das komplette Theater einfach mal leise lacht, da die Situationskomik, teilweise durch die Überspitzung der Situationen, einfach lustig ist. Man stelle sich einfach mal vor, man wäre 38 Jahre lang einfach weg, man hätte nichts mitbekommen und schon alleine das mit dem Handy ist für Maldonado und Riquelme richtig herausfordernd. Dazwischen ist immer wieder die Musik, die von Margarethe Zucker live gespielt. Mit einem Bass und einem 80er Jahre Synthesizer werden Stimmungen erzeugt. Man kann anhand der Töne erkennen, wer da mit dem Lehrer telefoniert und man kann auch anhand der Musik recht gut erahnen, was da gesprochen wird. Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit den Texten im Hintergrund, die teilweise von Alpha Centauri an die Wand gebracht werden, oder von der tanzenden Fuenzalicia. Es erinnert immer wieder an das Namen tanzen. Faszinierend ist auch später der Sternenhimmel, der auf die Bühne projiziert wird. Es gibt noch viele andere Elemente, wie der Sturm auf die Schule 1985, die richtig gut rübergebracht werden. Komme ich nun zu meinem Fazit. Wenn ihr euch ein wenig für chilenische Geschichte rund um Pinochet interessiert oder auch wenn ihr einfach nur mit einem gewissen Anspruch unterhalten werden wollt, dann seid ihr bei diesem Stück wirklich richtig gut dabei. Man kann lachen, man kann trauern, man sitzt wirklich gebannt in seinem Theatersessel und man will mehr. Es ist nie so, dass man überfordert wird, aber es wirkt nach. Die Schauspieler sind wirklich gut ausgesucht, die Bühne ist stellenweise vielleicht etwas karg. Diese schiefe Betonplatte ist vielleicht am Anfang etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber es ist von Anfang an klar, was es damit auf sich hat. Ich möchte keinen der Schauspieler besonders hervorheben, da sie in meinen Augen wirklich gut harmonieren. Es wäre geradezu unfair, einen über den anderen zu heben. Sie waren alle phantastisch. Momentan habe ich echt das Gefühl, dass mir das Stadttheater Gießen einiges bietet. Keines der Stücke ist schlecht gewesen, aber es war immer herausfordernd. Wenn man allerdings im Theater sitzt und man gebannt dem Ganzen folgt, und nach dem Stück minutenlang Applaus gibt, dann kann man sagen, der Abend war toll. Dazu hat man noch gelacht und wollte an den Fingernägeln kauen, weil es spannend anzusehen war. Ich glaube, wenn man dies alles erlebt hat, dann hat man einen tollen Abend im Stadttheater gehabt. Und dies lag auch an der Regie von Anaїs Durand-Mauptit, die wirklich ein gutes Händchen für das Stück hat. Vielleicht kann man die Regisseurin ja noch mal zu einem Projekt in Gießen überreden. Vor allem hat mir gefallen, dass man wirklich auch mal lachen konnte, ohne Angst zu haben, dass einem das Lachen im Halse stecken bleibt und trotzdem ploppen immer wieder bestimmte Szenen in meinem Kopf auf, die mich beschäftigen. Davon hätte ich gerne noch ein wenig mehr, denn dies war bis jetzt in dieser Spielzeit etwas zu wenig. Ich möchte gerne mehr unbeschwert lachen. Lesen Sie den ganzen Artikel

To many, the world appears to be in a state of dangerous change. News and fictional media alike report that these are dark times, and narratives of social resistance imbue many facets of Western culture. The new essays making up this collection examine different events and themes of the 2010s that readily acknowledge the struggling state of things. Pentatonix en el Teatro Vórterix: la invencibilidad del pop

Pentatonix se presentó por primera vez en la Argentina con un show sold out en el Teatro Vórterix. Dueños de un estilo muy particular y de una capacidad de ejecución envidiable, estos norteamericanos dejaron en claro que son mucho más que un fenómeno ideal para las redes sociales. Crónica de una noche en la que el pop volvió a mostrar su condición de campeón invencible.

El de Pentatonix es uno de esos shows de los que es imposible retirarse con sentimientos negativos. Sin importar las preferencias personales en cuanto a lo musical, es innegable que Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Matt Sallee y Kevin Olusola son cinco artistas llenos del talento y de la energía más puros que puedan existir dentro del universo de la canción. Luego de cobrar fama tras ganar de forma arrolladora la tercera temporada de “The Sing-Off” ocho años atrás, es evidente que el recorrido hasta este presente exitoso ha sido tan vertiginoso como agradable para este inseparable grupo de amigos.

Los hechos no mienten: diez discos de estudio, nueve giras entre locales y globales, tres premios Grammy, una notable cantidad de certificados de oro y platino y de canciones que llegaron a los primeros puestos de las listas más importantes del mundo y un lugar muy bien ganado dentro de la cultura pop contemporánea. Si bien se puede sostener que el formato es muy similar (en realidad, cuasi idéntico) al que llevó a la cima del mundo a los protagonistas de la extinta “Glee”, es igual de cierto que Pentatonix se ha desmarcado de dichas comparaciones al complementar sus habituales covers individuales con medleys muy complejos y una extensa lista de muy buen material propio.

En el marco del “Pentatonix: The World Tour”, la banda norteamericana llegó por primera vez a la Argentina para probar su fórmula delante de un muy exaltado público que, de manera lógica, fue muy heterogéneo en cuanto a edad y gustos musicales. Fórmula que es ideal para las redes sociales –sobre todo para Instagram y YouTube– pero que requiere de la máxima precisión sonora y de la absoluta concentración en el detalle para poder ser trasladada con eficiencia al gran escenario. La antesala de su presentación estuvo sazonada por la calidez y la potencia emocional de una Chiara Parravicini que aprovechó la ocasión al máximo: acompañada por una guitarra electroacústica y otra eléctrica, la ex Soy Luna presentó su primer disco (‘Wilder’) con una fuerte impronta entre country y folk rock con variados guiños a los años ’60.

Sin perder siquiera un segundo, a la hora anunciada, las luces se apagaron para dar lugar a la euforia absoluta. Bajo un clima por completo festivo y muy colorido, Scott, Kirstin, Kevin, Mitch y Matt saltaron a las tablas a pura adrenalina; de la mano del techo-funk (“Daft Punk”), del soul y el góspel (“Sing” y “High Hopes”, la segunda de Panic At The Disco!) y el chill out latino (“Havana”, de Camila Cabello) convirtieron al Teatro Vórterix en un karaoke por completo enloquecido. La dinámica vocal y física exhibida por los cinco protagonistas demostró ser excelente, alternando entre sí a la perfección las tres voces principales con las bases y ritmos creados a pura tracción de sangre.

Sorprendidos genuinamente por el ruido y la pasión argentinos, los norteamericanos bajaron un poco las revoluciones con la calidez progresiva de “Can’t Sleep Love”, para luego dar paso a “Evolution Of Pentatonix”, cruza entre medley y mashup donde recorren varias de las canciones que los hicieron saltar a la fama. En otras palabras: un repaso de variados géneros y estilos musicales que van del foxtrot a la ópera, pasando por el soul, el rap, el dark pop y hasta el canto lírico tradicional, quedando en evidencia su elogiable versatilidad y elasticidad.

La versión literalmente a capella de “Imagine” fue uno de los puntos más épicos y movilizantes de la noche, uniéndose las cinco voces en lo más alto y trayendo de vuelta ese espíritu por completo crudo y apasionado que siempre los caracterizó. Segundos más tarde, el descanso colectivo llegó merced del esfuerzo individual: el solo de beatbox y cello de Kevin fue una verdadera delicia auditiva, operando siempre desde la base del tema de apertura de “Game Of Thrones” y encontrando el momento justo para desatar una tormenta plagada de matices ambivalentes y texturas oscuras.

Aprovechando las cuerdas, los cinco músicos ejecutaron una lograda versión de “Shallow”, incluyendo sobre el cierre una sutil referencia a “Bad Romance”. Pie más que perfecto para la transición hacia un pequeño mashup entre “Cracked” y “Natural Disaster” que recordó al intenso y liberador clima que se vive en las iglesias negras de los Estados Unidos a puro góspel y soul, aportando Pentatonix un poco más de densidad con una performance escénica difícil de olvidar.

Matt y Kevin tuvieron un momento en solitario en el que volvieron a demostrar que son el corazón de la banda: su sing along incluyó los estribillos de “Stand By Me”, “Sweet Caroline”, “We Will Rock You” y “Old Town Road”; una elección acertada y también un reflejo de que lo suyo –sea con su material o con el de otros artistas– siempre tiene que ver con el reflejo de la evolución natural de las cosas. Hecho que se pudo confirmar durante “Evolution Of Ariana Grande”, un perfectamente coordinado –consiguiendo que lo que debería ser disparejo, suene como una unidad indestructible– viaje por sus primeras canciones pop más lavadas hasta su actual trabajo más cercano a la black music originaria.

Ya pasadas las diez de la noche, su interpretación de “Bohemian Rhapsody” y el diálogo entre el pop post-2000 y la world music presente en “On My Way Home”, se encargaron de encender por última vez a un público que no estaba dispuesto a retirarse. La intimidad de “Run To You”, en la que las voces en soledad dibujaron un cielo estrellado, se vio amplificada por la profundidad épica de “Hallelujah”, dando así por finalizada una noche en la que el pop volvió a demostrar que –sin importar sus eclécticas formas– la soberanía global es suya. Al César lo que es del César.

[Theater] Mädchenschule aus Chile in Gießen

Ich hatte Lena Meyerhoff zugesagt, dass ich mir auch die Mädchenschule im Stadttheater Gießen ansehen werde. Ein leichtes Bauchgrummeln hatte ich, da die Theaterstücke momentan nie schlecht sind, aber immer schwierige Themen anfassen, und mich so manchmal am Abend doch sehr fordern. Ich wollte schon früher in die Vorstellung, aber leider hat es diesmal nicht zur Premiere geklappt. Also jetzt am Samstag ab ins Theater und diesmal der Einführung von Lena Meyerhoff folgen. Es wird vieles über die Geschichte von Chile erzählt, über Pinochet und seine Diktatur, aber auch über Salvatore Allende, den Präsidenten von Chile, der bei dem Putsch von Pinochet ums Leben gekommen ist. Die Geschichte von „Mädchenschule“ erzählt von einer Gruppe von Mädchen, die sich 1985 in einem Raum einer Mädchenschule verstecken und dort bis 2023 versteckt bleiben. Sie vergessen einfach Zeit und Raum. Die drei „Mädchen“ die wir kennenlernen sind der Meinung, sie seien noch 16 Jahre alt. Dazu kommt noch ein psychisch gestörter Physiklehrer, der aber im hier und jetzt lebt und tatsächlich ein Lehrer ist. Dazu gibt es noch einen gealterten Jungen, den die drei Mädchen Alpha Centauri nennen. Soweit die Erklärung von Lena Meyerhoff. Was mir bei der Einführung aufgefallen ist, ist etwas was ich auch sehr gerne machen. Ein ähmm oder so ähnlich rutscht mir auch gerne über die Lippen, so wie es diesmal auch Frau Meyerhoff recht oft passiert ist. Ich kann mich daran erinnern, dass es bei Café Populaire wesentlich flüssiger war. Warum dies so war, keine Ahnung, aber es war einfach so und es hat mich etwas irritiert, auch wenn ich dies auch sehr oft mache. Inhaltlich war es wirklich gut und sie hat einem das Stück wirklich näher gebracht, auch wenn meine Angst dadurch nicht kleiner geworden ist, bei diesem Stück wieder komplett gefordert zu sein. Komme ich nun zum eigentlichen Theaterstück. Auf der Bühne ist ein Schulhof aus Beton angedeutet. Man kann den Betonbelag sehr gut erkennen und auch ich kenne dies noch aus meiner Schulzeit. Jeder kennt es, dass man im Theater, Kino und Konzert aufgefordert wird, das Handy auszumachen. So auch diesmal und genau dabei sitzt dann auf einmal einer im Publikum und redet in ein Handy. Natürlich hat es auch vorher geklingelt. Auf der Bühne steht Alpha Centauri, der von Davod Garviria gespielt wird. Und dieser Schauspieler ist genau so, wie ich mir einen Chilenen vorstelle, mit diesem Zungenschlag und dem Aussehen, kann ich nur sagen ein absoluter Treffer, besser kann man diese Rolle einfach nicht besetzen. Aber ich schweife mal wieder ab. Es hat ein paar Sekunden gedauert, bis ich gemerkt habe, dass dieser Mann im Publikum ein Schauspieler ist. Ganz ehrlich, ich habe schon ähnliche Situationen erlebt, zwar nicht im Theater aber auf anderen Veranstaltungen. Dieser Mann mit dem Handy im Publikum ist der besagte Lehrer, der von Ben Janssen gespielt wird. Diese ganze Situation ist schon komisch, in die man als Zuschauer auf einmal gebracht wird, und es lockert das Ganze auf. Und irgendwie macht mir dieser Schauspieler bei diesem Stück mehr Freude, als beim „Hundepark“. Als erstem Mädchen hilft der Lehrer Maldonado aus dem Loch. Maldonado wird von Carolin Weber gespielt. Sie ist noch immer komplett in der Revolution verhaftet und flieht auch erstmal aus der Schule, kommt aber später wieder und flucht darüber, dass sich doch nichts verändert hat. Carolin Weber hat mir ja schon beim „Kalten Herz“ sehr gut gefallen, diesmal gibt sie der Figur so eine Ernsthaftigkeit, aber auch einen gewissen Humor. Ich kann noch nicht mal sagen, woran ich das festmache, aber irgendwie ist trotz der Schwere der Figur eine gewisse Leichtigkeit zu spüren. Als nächstes krabbeln Riquelme, die von Anne-Elise Minetti gespielt wird, und Fuenzalida, gespielt von Paula Schrötter, raus. Vor allem Riqueleme spielt sich im Laufe des Stückes immer wieder die Bälle mit Maldonado zu. Fuenzalida spricht zumindest am Anfang einfach nicht. Es gibt im ganzen Theaterstück immer wieder Situationen, wo das komplette Theater einfach mal leise lacht, da die Situationskomik, teilweise durch die Überspitzung der Situationen, einfach lustig ist. Man stelle sich einfach mal vor, man wäre 38 Jahre lang einfach weg, man hätte nichts mitbekommen und schon alleine das mit dem Handy ist für Maldonado und Riquelme richtig herausfordernd. Dazwischen ist immer wieder die Musik, die von Margarethe Zucker live gespielt. Mit einem Bass und einem 80er Jahre Synthesizer werden Stimmungen erzeugt. Man kann anhand der Töne erkennen, wer da mit dem Lehrer telefoniert und man kann auch anhand der Musik recht gut erahnen, was da gesprochen wird. Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit den Texten im Hintergrund, die teilweise von Alpha Centauri an die Wand gebracht werden, oder von der tanzenden Fuenzalicia. Es erinnert immer wieder an das Namen tanzen. Faszinierend ist auch später der Sternenhimmel, der auf die Bühne projiziert wird. Es gibt noch viele andere Elemente, wie der Sturm auf die Schule 1985, die richtig gut rübergebracht werden. Komme ich nun zu meinem Fazit. Wenn ihr euch ein wenig für chilenische Geschichte rund um Pinochet interessiert oder auch wenn ihr einfach nur mit einem gewissen Anspruch unterhalten werden wollt, dann seid ihr bei diesem Stück wirklich richtig gut dabei. Man kann lachen, man kann trauern, man sitzt wirklich gebannt in seinem Theatersessel und man will mehr. Es ist nie so, dass man überfordert wird, aber es wirkt nach. Die Schauspieler sind wirklich gut ausgesucht, die Bühne ist stellenweise vielleicht etwas karg. Diese schiefe Betonplatte ist vielleicht am Anfang etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber es ist von Anfang an klar, was es damit auf sich hat. Ich möchte keinen der Schauspieler besonders hervorheben, da sie in meinen Augen wirklich gut harmonieren. Es wäre geradezu unfair, einen über den anderen zu heben. Sie waren alle phantastisch. Momentan habe ich echt das Gefühl, dass mir das Stadttheater Gießen einiges bietet. Keines der Stücke ist schlecht gewesen, aber es war immer herausfordernd. Wenn man allerdings im Theater sitzt und man gebannt dem Ganzen folgt, und nach dem Stück minutenlang Applaus gibt, dann kann man sagen, der Abend war toll. Dazu hat man noch gelacht und wollte an den Fingernägeln kauen, weil es spannend anzusehen war. Ich glaube, wenn man dies alles erlebt hat, dann hat man einen tollen Abend im Stadttheater gehabt. Und dies lag auch an der Regie von Anaїs Durand-Mauptit, die wirklich ein gutes Händchen für das Stück hat. Vielleicht kann man die Regisseurin ja noch mal zu einem Projekt in Gießen überreden. Vor allem hat mir gefallen, dass man wirklich auch mal lachen konnte, ohne Angst zu haben, dass einem das Lachen im Halse stecken bleibt und trotzdem ploppen immer wieder bestimmte Szenen in meinem Kopf auf, die mich beschäftigen.
