RJ: On top of everything else, Carnisoar is violating the Migratory Birds Protection Act. Theo: Much like the way Al Capone was taken down, that's what's gonna finally nail him.

So after reblogging that "Would RJ survive Danganronpa", I randomly got the idea, said "screw it", and so here we are.
Using the Brantsteele Danganronpa Simulator, let's see how well this would go based off purely RNG, with the only adjustment being that a killer is actually caught, because it would be comically silly for the group to vote wrong on Chapter 1 and everything ends there. I know nothing about who will survive, if a Mastermind will get picked and revealed, nothing - This is all being randomly decided and winged.
We start things off pretty wild with a double knock-out of Stingerella and Whiger. J esus I wasn't expecting that right out the gate, Toady won't be happy about that.
Naja and Master Finn wind up pointing fingers at each other during the Class Trial, and some of the other Masters were absolutely gunning for Fran, for some reason..
But none of that got them anywhere in the end, as their friend was accused correctly and found guilty of defeating the two Beasts. Naja gets revenge on the ally he lost.
Chapter 2 begins and iT'S ANOTHER DOUBLE MURDER, GUYS, ARE YOU ALRIGHT??
This time it's Master Rilla and Fran, we lost 2 Beasts with Chapter 1, and now we lose 2 Pai Zhua with Chapter 2, what is going on. Poor Fran, she likely walked in on something she wasn't supposed to see and couldn't compete with someone that could take out a Master.
The votes were m ostly all over the place with this one, but Master Guin and Dominic come under a fair bit of fire - I love the chaos of Grizzaka voting Guin, Guin voting Carnisoar, and then Jarrod straight after voting Guin again.
The vote comes to a tie as a result.
And Dominic is selected, being correctly identified as the killer! Nobody can really believe it, including Theo who actively voted for him. Dominic accepts his fate and apologises; He didn't mean to hurt either of them, but especially not Fran. He just didn't know his own strength.
Absolutely did not see that coming, ohhh that hurts my heart. DOMINIC WHYYYYY. 😭
Chapter 3 is notably more calmer with just one victim, Master Lope. Man these guys are NOT having a good time with the simulator, 2 of them were victims, one was a Blackened, and Guin almost got axed off. Today ain't their day.
We get 2 vote back-and-forths again, with both RJ AND Theo. Swoop and Theo even vote against one another, ouch. Toady also votes for Theo, sounds about right given he kicked a fit over Stingerella fighting Theo in the show.
But Swoop's instinct proves right, condemning the Jaguar Ranger for killing his other Master. Theo fights it, as he would - he refuses to go down without a fight and admitting his flaws - but Lily's heartbroken face is enough to silence him as he realises he can't leave with her.
Damn, the Simulator is getting personal with some of these, first Dom killing his girlfriend and then Theo killing one of his Masters.
Another single-death chapter, Chapter 4 has The Land Overlord Grizzaka be eliminated.
Camille's voted Swoop in 2 trials now, Chapter 1 and now Chapter 4, and Swoop seems to be getting back at her - Those two do NOT seem to like each other. Also Casey voting RJ, OUCH, and Snapper voting Scorch, DOUBLE OUCH. Sides are turning on each other already.
The vote ties between Mao and Naja, and it seems Naja was the culprit. Yeah, that checks out honestly, with the way he was seeking to betray Dai Shi in the actual show I get the feeling he would probably do the same to Grizzaka too.
Chapter 5 starts with yET ANOTHER DOUBLE MURDER. This time it's one Beast and one Pai Zhua, as Jellica and Lily are both eliminated. Carnisoar is the last remaining Overlord, while Casey's the last remaining Core-3 Ranger.
The votes are a bit more organised this time, as Guin is put into the hot-seat AGAIN alongside Swoop and Rantipede. Camille also still does not like Swoop apparently, she voted for him yet again.
But that's not enough, and Guin is voted the most with nobody to tie with - She's finally caught, and calmly accepts her loss. Once again we have a thematic chapter as Guin eliminates her own student, much like how Theo eliminated Lope earlier - I swear this Simulator knows something.
Another double-kill commences Chapter 6, and my heart BREAKS as Camille becomes one of the Victims, alongside Master Phant - RIP the Green Team. I swear if this one ends up being Master Swoop I'm going to screech.
Thankfully it ISN'T Swoop, but I think this is even WORSE. Casey is found guilty, voted by the majority - He and Mao had a back-and-forth where they voted for each other, trying to shirk the blame, but he can't escape what he's done. The team of Rangers is in shambles as only RJ remains, the Red Ranger's hands Blackened by killing a Master and a friend.
ALL of the girls have been killed off now, it's just 10 of the dudes left.
No double-murder this time, that seems to only happen in random spurts by the Simulator, and Snapper is eliminated - Scorch is the only Phantom Beast left.
The vote is generally unanimous, for once so far this Simulator, and I weep again as Jarrod is caught and found guilty. Despair just came so easily to him once his best friend had taken the life of his partner - He had nothing left, and only laughs with tears in his eyes as he accepts his fate, not regretting what he did to be with Camille again.
The Overlords are now entirely out of the Simulator, as Carnisoar is the sole victim of Chapter 8.
Hilariously enough, 3 people all got 2 votes each - Master Mao, for some reason, voted Scorch. Even more amusingly, it's Master Swoop who is found guilty - I guess he had a score to settle with Carnisoar over being the Masters of the Sky.
Only 6 people are left!
Master Mao just BARELY doesn't make it out, and is eliminated by Toady - Of all the Beasts left to axe off Mao, Toady was by far NOT the one I was expecting. But Toady is never caught, and he escapes with fellow Poison Fingers Gakko and Rantipede, Phantom Beast General Scorch, and Wolf Ranger RJ - Though the Poison Finger survives for the sake of his lost love, he survives with blood on his hands, one last strike against Pai Zhua for Master Finn taking Stingerella's life.
I guess the Simulator saw me earlier saying "RJ would probably die in Danganronpa" and said "k bet", though I did also say RJ would make GREAT Protag material, so maybe in this he was the Protagonist! Makes sense given this simulator run, honestly, my guy went through a LOT and is the only Pai Zhua survivor. Dude's gonna need therapy after this one.
Just for some funsies, because the Simulator didn't select one, I spun a wheel to see who would be the hidden Mastermind of the group, and
.. I have no words. his feels scripted but I swear it isn't. IT'S ALWAYS THE BEAR'S FAULT, except unlike Monokuma in Danganronpa THE BEAR ISN'T EVEN BEING CONTROLLED BY ANYONE, NO IT'S FULLY THE BEAR'S FAULT THIS TIME!
These are the final Placements for the Simulator, and honestly WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER. FOUR double-kill chapters, Fran being killed by Dominic, Theo killing his own Master and Guin killing her own STUDENT (plus Jellica), Naja pulling a Beast Betrayal and axing off Grizzaka, the two Masters of the Sky dueling it out, Casey killing Phant AND Camille and Jarrod instantly going off the deep end right after, and Toady getting rid of one of the last Masters left and successfully escaping. A lot of betrayal and vendettas in the votes too, these guys don't play around in Danganronpa apparently because they got BRUTAL.
This was very fun to do, though I wish this simulator had a little more spice to it, mainly the fact there's no Mastermind and no Motive, but hey as the show puts it; Can't win them all, it IS listed as a Simple Simulator after all. Maybe I'll do some more Jungle Fury Simulations in the future; Brantsteele has a Hunger Games one, as well as Among Us, The Voice, and Masked Singer (underrated TV show), so I'll see about maybe doing some of those. :D
#power rangers jungle fury#danganronpa simulator#danganronpa#fun fact: I did actually WRITE a Jungle Fury/Danganronpa fic on wattpad waaaaayy back when I was like 13-14#it was NOT good quality whatsoever but what else would you expect from a teenager at that age lmao#I think in that Jarrod and Camille were the Masterminds while Grizzaka took on the Monokuma role while Casey was the protag#casey rhodes#lily chilman#theo martin#robert “rj” james#dominic hargan#fran#jarrod#camille#the three phantom beast generals#five fingers of poison#the three overlords#I'm NOT tagging every single one of them I'd run out of space

Since Camille and Jarrod are my two favourite PR characters of just all-time, I wanna throw my two cents into the ring.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that the only time Dai Shi/Jarrod ever legitimately tries to hurt Camille, it's in "Good Karma Bad Karma", when he fires an energy attack at her and she has to hide behind a pillar in the throne room to evade it.
This is right at the end of the episode, where the entire B Plot (and frankly better plot of the episode) is about Carnisoar altering Jarrod's memories to where he remembers less of himself, makes him believe he didn't do anything good in his life, and was nothing but a bad person and evil kid.
In the moment he attacks her for failing against the Rangers that day, it's not only being encouraged by Carnisoar for him to do so (because the Overlords despised Camille with a passion for some reason?), but it's also happening after Jarrod has been psychologically messed with to the extent where he's much easier to either 1) manipulate and bring along for the adventure thinking it's a good idea because he's a "bad" person, or 2) just repress and push down by Dai Shi's superior strength because Jarrod thinks he genuinely deserves this after being so bad in his life. He's so repressed and/or manipulated that like 1 episode later in "Pushed to the Edge", Carnisoar tells Camille to disappear forever (which if that isn't a kid-friendly way of telling her to off herself, I dunno what it is) and Dai Shi does NOTHING but let it happen, because Jarrod can't get through to say otherwise.
Honestly the Overlords in general are like the main reason Dai Shi becomes more prominant between him and Jarrod, because they actively encourage him to treat her like shit, and also "train" him by just beating the hell outta the dude which probably isn't doing any favours in making him "better". The only times Jarrod comes through is when Camille's life is genuinely in peril and she's about to get killed by Jellica. It's really only after Dai Shi/Jarrod spends extensive time away from the Overlords on the Nexus mission and they end up going against one another, that Jarrod starts to come through more again and even Dai Shi seems to have a bit more respect for her.
Whenever Dai Shi gains power in some way and is reinforced by toxic surroundings, he loses sight of Camille and how important she is. I genuinely think he did have something for her 10,000 years ago since even upon his initial return he calls her "my lovely" and wants her to "stay and talk" to him. But those 10,000 years in the box definitely did something to him, and when the Overlords showed up, they made it MUCH worse.
Ok so I just finished Power Rangers Jungle Fury and I am STILL trying to figure out how I feel about Camille’s and Jarrod/Dai Shi’s relationship prior to the finale
Like, Camille is so devoted to Dai Shi no matter how he treats her and is eternally loyal to him
Dai Shi calls Camille love and it seems to be a bit manipulative? But he also doesn’t like seeing her hurt and values her opinion over the other bad guys and that could be Jarrod peaking his little head out??
Like, Jarrod/Dai Shi will yell at her or threaten her, but we don’t see him lift a finger against her (from what I remember).
And while watching, I shift from wanting Camille to do better (which she eventually does after Jarrod breaks free from Dai Shi) and leaving to squealing whenever Dai Shi is so PAINFULLY soft with her.
Because it’s so obviously an abusive situation, but you know Jarrod is still in there and you get his whole tragic backstory and how him and Dai Shi are influencing each other to the point where we don’t know where one ends and one begins.
Also, Dai Shi looses all his charisma once Jarrod breaks free.
I mean, I was all for the hot disaster bisexuals taking over the world but then they left and all that was left was this old boomer and then I was like YIKES.
Like??? I was way more interested in the family drama than the heroes.
Idk, I have so many feelings over these two
#power rangers jungle fury#in this house we slander the overlords#also i too have so many feelings over these characters you're not alone#camille#jarrod

Some Thoughts about Power Rangers Jungle Fury
Blame it on Boom Studios.
So, like every child of the ‘90’s, I loved the Power Rangers growing up. Before Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network existed, I would religiously tune into Fox Kids every Saturday morning so I could watch X-Men: The Animated Series and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. While I remained an X-Men fan for life, I stopped following Power Rangers sometime after the movie. That was all well and good, but then Boom Studios had to go and launch a MMPR ongoing that ended being really good. That fired up the nostalgia machine, and the next thing I knew I was rewatching episodes of Mighty Morphin.
I didn’t rewatch the entirety of the series, because it’s over 150 episodes, and, I mean, I got shit to do, but on an impulse, I started watching the most recent series, Power Rangers Dino Charge, which was so good that I watched the whole thing. Now I’m interested in watching other iterations, so arrived at Jungle Fury through the incredibly scientific process of liking the name of the title and the concept of Kung Fu Power Rangers.” Anyway, here’s some thoughts:
The Good:
The Characters: because I was raised on the one-note characters of MMPR, my expectations in this area are quite low, so I was pleasantly surprised by the cast of Jungle Fury. Not only is each of the principals well-defined, but they, especially Casey, also experience genuine growth over the course of the series. Further, every Ranger is likeable and easy to connect with. Granted, some fans find RJ annoying (otherwise known as people who hate fun), but he’s actually the best character in the show. Not only is David de Lautour the strongest actor in the cast (check out his interactions with his father in “One Master Too Many”), but the character is quite clever in the way that it plays with the audience’s expectations for a Kung Fu master and then turns it on its head (something that the show even jokes about when Casey, RJ, and Lily assume that the older Asian man is their new master in the first episode). The villains are also nicely developed with the primary antagonist undergoing a genuine arc. Jarrod’s “bad guy tempted to be good” is another clever inversion on a traditional storytelling trope. Even Camille, the villain’s sidekick, gets a kind of arc and development, owing to her love for Jarrod.
The Plot (mostly): One of the best parts of Jungle Fury was in the way that the series really committed to its theme of Kung Fu. Many series have themes, but only make half-hearted use of them and end up pretty much just Power Rangers business as usual; however, Jungle Fury incorporated a lot tropes from kung fu and used them quite effectively for the story. For example, each of the rangers studies with a mentor to help them become more powerful (even better, these lessons also saw the Rangers develop further as characters, which, again, harkens back to the great characterization in this series). In a clever twist, the primary villain mirrors the Rangers’ development by training and studying under evil mentors himself. Further, this makes the overall overarching story feel like it’s building towards something grand and epic, rather than a series of monster-of-the-week episodes.
The Fights: Again, the show really demonstrates how committed it is to its theme, incorporating the kung fu aspects into the fight choreography as well. I’ll admit that I tend to zone out a bit during the Zord sequences, but Jungle Fury kept me considerably more engaged than some of the other series that I’ve watched.
The Rinshi God, I love the Rinshi so much and their double-footed hop.
The Bad:
The Costumes: Personally, I don’t hate them as much as some, but they’re definitely in the bottom half of the franchise as a whole. The original suits aren’t bad, but, for whatever reason, the white neck really bothers me. The Jungle Master suits are also a definite upgrade on the base suits; however, the Purple and White Ranger costumes are just godawful.
The Monsters: Here’s my incredibly basic criteria for good Power Rangers monsters: do I remember them when the episode is over? Now, obviously, I can’t name every monster from a season that I like, but I can picture several different monsters from both MMPR and Dino Charge (I smile a bit when I think about the one created by Swatt and Baboo out of a bunch of random sports equipment and a stoplight). When judged on those criteria, Jungle Fury falls short. Outside of Carnisoar, Jellica, and Grizzaka (and, of course, the incredible Rinshi), I can't recall a single monster. That's....not good.
The Finale: Remember how I raved about how great the plot was a couple of paragraphs ago? Yeah, a lot of that was undone by an anticlimactic final. So the entire series is basically one giant build, with the Rangers getting progressively stronger and gaining new powers and techniques while Jarrod simultaneously powered up. Then the Rangers manage to separate Jarrod from Dai Shi, convert Jarrod and Camille to their side, bring back the Spirit Rangers, and gather everyone together, but all they need to do to defeat Dai Shi’s dragon form is chant a few things. Jungle Fury doesn’t seem to get a lot of love from fans (although, for that matter, it doesn’t seem to get a lot of hate either), and I think the final episode is a big reason why people aren’t more passionate about the series.
…And the Accents?
Ever since Disney purchased the franchise, filming has taken place in New Zealand, meaning that the cast of each series is typically made up of Australians and Kiwis’. In fact, not a single American is in the main cast of Jungle Fury. Here’s my arbitrarily-assigned score for each character:
Casey (Jason Smith)–8.5/10: I actually thought Smith was Canadian until I looked him up on IMDB and found he’s actually Australian. His accent is pretty good, but the giveaway is how unnatural his voice sounds when he’s shouting his dialogue after transforming.
Theo (Aljin Abella)–7/10: Theo is another one who I was a bit surprised by; his voice sometimes comes across as stiff, which I initially assumed was a deliberate acting choice rather than because he was hiding an Australian accent.
Lily (Anna Hutchison)–5/10: Anna Hutchison loses points for inconsistency; more than half the time, but when it slips, it really slips.
RJ (David de Lautour)–8/10: RJ might be the best of the bunch, but I also feel that David de Lautour had an easier job since he merely had to imitate a very specific accent–the stereotypical surfer–rather than a more general American accent like the others.
Dom (Nikolai Nikolaeff)–7/10: This is unrelated, but it was really hard for me to get over seeing one of the Russian mobsters from Daredevil playing the White Ranger.
Fran (Sarah Thomson)–8/10
Camille (Holly Shanahan)–7/10
Jarrod/Dai Shi (Bede Skinner)–3/10: At least he tried?

Still gets the Solar Morpher, we still need a leading Ranger after all. His Animal Spirit would need to be swapped to the Red Lion instead of Black Lion probably, though. OR, he keeps the Black Lion and the armoured form, we get a Black/Gold aesthetic "Ranger" as a leader (which, would be unlikely as hell in PR, but hey it would be cool).
That'd depend I think. If Jarrod and Casey swapped places AND backstories, then yes, but if they didn't swap backstories too then Casey would probably be harder to corrupt. Carnisoar would have a lot of work to do to give Dai Shi a better foothold by messing with Casey's memories to make him THINK he was bad, and Jellica would probably gaslight Casey HARDCORE.
Theo and Lily would NOT be fans initially, but Lily would definitely warm up to him first; She's the heart of the team, compassionate, she found Flit cute (and honestly I always found it weird how she just totally gave up on Jarrod in the show). She'd be cautious with Jarrod, but open up to giving him a chance. Theo would be harder to sway since while Jarrod IS on their level he was a very closed off and eventually mean guy. But I think Theo would, after hearing what Jarrod's gone through and seeing the guy try to improve, eventually soften up - After all, Theo's had some rough time with family too. RJ I think would be neutral with Jarrod at first; He knows he's been a bit rough, but he's aware the guy is troubled, and he's Dominic's friend, so he'll try to keep an open mind. Dominic wouldn't change honestly, his friend's here as a Ranger and trying to find some self-improvement, awesome, that's a win in his books.
not Lies of P related but i have a PR Jungle Fury what if scenario:
What if Casey was possessed by Dai Shi instead of Jarrod in the beginning?
and some questions:
1. What will happen to Jarrod? Will he still receive the solar morpher by RJ?
2. Will Casey be closely corrupted as OG Jarrod was?
3. How will the others treat Jarrod in the beginning by their first impression?
#power rangers jungle fury#also consider the following: enemies-to-lovers Jarrod & Camille#hell yeah

Are you psychic? Before receiving this ask I made a list of all the PR villains I’ve written for: Grizzaka, Jellica, Carnisoar, Mandilok, Draknorak, Vexacus, Mirloc, Mesogog, Master Xandred, Lepus, Hydrax, General Benaag, Flytrap, Distractor, Zeltrax, Deadwood, Bigs, Wedding Dress Org, Arachnor, Fossilador, Rita Repulsa (2017), Goldar (2017). Aside from the last one (and Zeltrax who I added to a request), these guys were all requested. XD

Added!
Carnisoar: “Carnisaur was a cruel and calculated Overlord.” That’s all I need to know.
Jellica: Aw, she’s a jellyfish gijinka. I wish I had tentacles sometimes. If I didn’t have so many requests on my to do list, she could headline MerMay.
Grizzaka: Grizzly-inspired? He just needs to be treated like a teddy bear and cuddled.
