Mathew Noceda lore

Mathew is the blood son of witches Carley and Barry Jones, and brother of Danielle. When he was five, Odalia burnt his village and killed everyone but Mathew (and Danielle, which he doesn't learn until 11 years after) after Carley disrespected her publicly. Swearing revenge, Mathew fled and found the Valkyrie Trials, and cleared them to become a the tenth Valkyrie, which are mythical superpowerful warriors.

Afterwards, he lived alone with his special parrot palisman Ringo for 11 years. During which, he caused havoc for Blight Industries and started a secret relationship with Edric Blight.

He gets his own episode called "Sight of the Valkyrie" which is the S2 premiere, which is where he meets Luz and the gang fir the first time and is immediately taken in as their grumpy bird friend. Eda was #Shooketh to say the least.

During Reaching Out, Mathew's contacted by Manny, who in this universe is the 9th Valkyrie, from the afterlife, getting a huge power boost by basically absorbing his spirit energy.

He gets sent to Earth along with the gang on the finale and when Camila meets him, he's basically adopted within a month, becoming her token cis kid who she still loves tons ofc.

Then during the finale, following Luz's death, Mathew in his rage absorbs all the past Valkyrie's spirit energy to attain his god form, the Legacy Form.

In the Epilogue he works as a part time game developer from home so he can help Camila.

And finally is Mathew Wittebane from my and @punkeropercyjackson 's Swap AU. He was made alongside @punkeropercyjackson 's Swap!s/i Victoria, and is known as the Azurite Guard, and is weak in combat, but also a smart boi.

A lot of these players here either played little last year or were already reserves, or are playing a position/niche that is overcrowded. Many of these players are talented and could def earn a spot for a team that they gel right with, but likely wouldn’t be until after training camp. This tier is pretty close to tier three and probs a lot of overlap depending on a coaches evaluation of how players fit in their system

Tier ?: the unknown

Sydney Brodt, Mikyla Grant Mentis, Audrey-Anne Veillette, Ann-Sophie Bettez, Caitrin Lonergan, Fanni Garát-Gasparics, Kristin Della Rovere

These players did not play a lot last year due to various circumstances but were pretty impactful / took on high end roles when they did. Because of that, they separate themselves from other players who saw limited minutes and may be ore sought after. The exception is Veillette, who straight up DNP due to injury, but was thought pretty highly of when drafted. Bettez is also a weird one here because though she missed a lot this year, everyone knows what she’s capable of, but I don’t think she’d be willing to leave Montreal
