Prince Edward and Sophie were all about charm at Camille Henry Memorial School in Castries, Saint Lucia during their 2022 Caribbean tour, but Edward in particular caught my eye in a very naughty way. There he was, in that blazer with his shirt open just enough, but when he went down on his haunches to talk to the kids, my mind wasn't on the conversation.

The sight of Edward squatting down, looking up, had my mind racing with scandalous thoughts. in between bfiafl announcement on 1st june 2022 and the album actually coming out in october, i think there's definitely a group summer holiday somewhere, the last bit of peace before promo and tour takes over life for the next few years. maybe somewhere in the caribbean? idk. anyway. the first couple of days are full of excursions, so matty just gets to enjoy the sight of you in shorts and little dresses looking all pretty and relaxed; day three, though, is a different story. he's up early that morning, lounging by the pool with a coffee and a book, and it's just him until you appear with a towel and a big t-shirt on like "oh, i didn't realise you were here, matty, i'm sorry, i'll leave you be" - he's like "no really please stay it's alright. you going for a swim?", and you nod like "just getting some exercise in before everyone else comes down. i'll be quiet, though, and quick, don't worry. won't have to deal with me for long", and he shrugs like "i don't mind. stay as long as you want". and he only slightly regrets saying that a few seconds later, when you put down your towel and strip off your t-shirt to reveal possibly the tiniest red bikini matty's ever seen - you're in the water doing lengths before he can properly react, but holy shit will that initial image be burned into his brain forever. and then you move onto your back to swim, and he is SO thankful for his sunglasses because he literally cannot tear his eyes from your chest. does he feel awful about it? yes. will he continue to look at you and be awed by how fucking gorgeous you are? also yes. like, he's lightheaded. you'd think he'd never seen a woman before. and honestly, he's not sure he ever HAS seen one he's so attracted to. and not even in a horny sense (although you climbing out of the pool soaking wet in that bikini is absolutely without doubt going in the wank bank) - he really, REALLY likes you, to the point where most of his daydreams are taking your for dinner and getting to play with your hair. he's ridiculous lmfao. i love him <3

Blog Post: Filet Crochet - Tall Ship

It's April 2022 and I've just added "Wellerman" to my playlists. Like most trends, I've discovered it late, but that doesn't stop my fervor in finding as many shanty bands as I can get my hands on. I re-watch "Master & Commander" and "Pirates of the Caribbean", I start and finish OFMD in a weekend, I buy the fancy vinyl of The Longest Johns' most recent album, I make up stanzas for Drunken Sailor, and I start reblogging ship after ship after ship - ships at sea, ships approaching pirate islands, ships in the mist and at night and with sails gloriously unfurled.

I tour a tall ship for my birthday, then spend the afternoon at an Irish pub listening to familiar songs that aren't shanties but come from similar traditional roots.

At some point, I admit... yep, I'm drawn to the aesthetic of tall sailing ships. And I celebrate it.

I celebrate anything that brings joy. So this time last year (Sep 18 if you are curious), my daydreams about ships chasing the horizon led me to pick up my crochet hook, start a row of chains and some double crochets, and make one of those vague, ominous posts: a simple: it begins.

And finally, I can say, it ends.

This was my first big filet crochet project, and in full transparency, I learned the technique just so I could make this pattern. I first picked a few free patterns that were symmetrical between rows, as one of the challenges I had was reading left-to-right, then right-to-left in sequence based on whether I was on the right side of wrong side as the pattern progressed. My first non-symmetrical pattern was HandmadebyRaine's dolphin table runner. Fairly soon after I decided I was ready. I was probably less ready and more eager... but what's a better way learning a new technique than working on something you know you're going to be really passionate about?

Filet Crochet is a technique in which the pattern creates a mesh with filled in and open blocks, where the filled in spaces (or the inverse) makes an image. The only stitches you need to start learning is the chain and the double crochet, so in some ways it is quite beginner friendly. I'd recommend starting with a symmetrical pattern like I did until you are used to switching the reading direction with the rows.

Another challenge I had along the way: I lost the crochet hook I was using about halfway up. I think I actually was using a 2.00mm originally, but the challenge with these small hooks is that you can't really buy them on an individual basis - at least from what I've seen. This is the reason I have 3-4 .5mm's which I never use, but the 1.75mm and 2.00mm that I use all the time have a habit of walking away.

From there, the main challenge was keeping motivated, especially after that lull in the middle of the project. At the beginning and the end, the stitches were flying off the hook.

So my year long passion project finally comes to end. I haven't yet picked a space in my home for this project to live, so it's not yet on display. It is such a statement piece, I'd like to make it somewhere visitors may see it. I'm proud!

As far as filet crochet - I really liked the technique! It's another way for me to use my thread, another style for doilies or table runners. I definitely think it will be added to my rotation. What do we think for next? A chicken?

I agree that Canada gets a lot of visits, and iirc both Anne and Sophie have been there since 2022 too. People just don’t notice them as much. But, it’s a new reign, and I do understand why the UK gov wants them to go to the US, but I think for the Canadians it would be nice to see their king but I can’t really speak for them on the other hand.

Maybe William could focus more on the cw realms so Charles can do the state visits the uk hasn’t done for a longtime due to Lizzie not travelling. I think we can all bet he’s never setting his foot in the Caribbean again, and he does have a good relationship with New Zealand. But William doesn’t have any military or charitable ties to any of the realms (even Sophie has that) and while I don’t think he cares one bit of he’s still king of those countries when the time comes, fact is that as things stand right now, that is the case. And he should build up the relationship more imo. He should focus more on the commonwealth overall, but then again he pretty much washed his hands of it after not being able to handle the critisism of the Caribbean tour.

Agreed, i think they took that criticism far too personally - i think I remember reading that William did not want to do a few things, like the standing in the car? But alas, he needs to get over it.

There is some catch up to do for sure, with the late Queen having stopped travelling...I do think the King & Queen can't do much more than they are - this will be what their fourth? state visit outgoing since the coronation .

Either way, Will and Kate need to pick up speed..however there is a huge bump now in the journey of that - we obviously don't know anything else about her health..it could have done things we aren't aware of, but its not like they were too keen to do much before hand anyway unfortunately.

They are doing good work overall, but there is room for improvement..and I'm unsure how willing they are for it

Officially, the trip was meant to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, celebrating 70 years on the throne.

Well, I'm new to your blog and I confess to being surprised by the new revelations, especially the one about Willy destroying his marriage to Kate, I think it has to do with his temper dealing with all the responsibility of the crown and the pressure of the press and the public perhaps? And although you haven't mentioned a divorce, this could end up causing one, after all, a marriage isn't just about love.

Yeah, his temper is likely a factor. Also the problem that he's emotionally unstable. I consider Kate to be an emotionally stable person. Or, at least, far more stable than William.

Consider Father's Day 2023 in the UK. Did William do a post acknowledging his father, aka THE KING? Nope.

Because he's a stubborn, petulant, anxious, unhinged brat just like his brother, Harry.

William was a grown adult of more than 30 years when he insinuated to Jane Goodall that he was going to destroy all the ivory in the royal collection.

He does not consider the long range implications of things when he pops his mouth off. Just like his brother. It's why William issued unnecessary words after the Lady Susan Hussey "incident" a year ago. It's why he issued an unnecessary speech at the end of his Caribbean tour in 2022.

William isn't practiced or polished; he's spoiled and pampered. He refuses to learn because he thinks he's above it all.

The dude is going to have to learn the hard way.
