Rain Does Not Hamper Humanity Action Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 BOGOR – To show humanity among humans, PKPU Human Initiative in cooperation with Human Appeal Int. of United Arab Emirates held free medical treatment program (PROSMILING) for people in Kp. Kawakilan Tiga, Leuwiliang district, Bogor regency, West Java Province on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Since morning, the weather had not really been friendly. The rain fell so heavily until the afternoon. However, it did not hamper medical volunteers to help each other. PROSMILING kept going on and the program receivers looked enthusiastic. The rain boosted their spirit to give benefit and strengthen togetherness. PROSMILING HAI UEA has been held for the 8th time. Previously, it was held in Aceh and Semarang. This time it was held in Leuwiliang, providing medical service in the form of general medical treatment consisting of blood pressure checkup, doctor consultation, medicine procurement, health counseling on the clean and healthy lifestyle as well as additional food distribution such as milk and biscuit. The service which was available from 09.00 to 12.00 West Indonesia Time (WIB) has given benefit to 138 people and 64 children under five. Mostly, they suffer from acute respiratory infection (ISPA) as well as muscle, joint and connective tissue diseases. It is expected that the people will be more productive and more concerned about health. The program is also expected to identify patients who need follow-up treatment. Hadi as the head of RT 03/03 neighborhood unit expressed thanks to PKPU and HAI UEA for helping the people. Medical facility in the area is indeed quite far, which is in the district Community Health Center (Puskesmas) and people needs to go by public transportation. PKPU Distributes School Kit Packages to Orphans & the Unfortunate Pekanbaru – PKPU Human Initiative distributed school kit packages again to orphan and unfortunate students. This program is the maintenance of Tabung Peduli charity program at SD Darel Hikmah elementary school in Tampan district, Pekanbaru. Qualified education not only belongs to those from the upper middle class, but also belongs to all people. “It is because education is our responsibility,” Mela Sari, Coordinator of PKPU Pekanbaru Tabung Peduli charity program, said on the sidelines of school kit distribution, Monday (6/2). The school kit packages distribution was attended by the principal, teacher assembly and PKPU Pekanbaru team. It was opened with symbolic distribution from PKPU Pekanbaru team to the principal of SD Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru for the students. It ended with photo session. The school kit packages consist of bag, books, ruler, pen, pencil, sharpener and eraser. This program brought happiness to all of the students. “Alhamdulillaah (thank God).. I am happy. Situation Report 4 Respon Banjir Bandang Bima, Nusa Tenggara Barat I. Informasi Kunci Hujan deras yang merata di Bima dan Sumbawa menyebabkan banjir besar di beberapa daerah. Ribuan rumah terendam banjir di Kota Bima, Kabupaten Bima dan Kabupaten Sumbawa Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat pada Rabu (21/12/2016) pukul 03.00 Wita. Pemerintah Kota Bima menetapkan waktu tanggap darurat sejak tanggal 21 desember 2016 selama 15 hari kedepan. II. Gambaran Situasi Lima kecamatan di Kota Bima terendam banjir setinggi 1-2 meter meliputi Kecamatan Rasanae, Rasanae Timur, Rasanae Barat dan Punda. Tinggi banjir di wilayah Lewirato, Sadia, Jati Wangi, Melayu, Pena Na'e mencapai 2 meter. Ribuan rumah terendam banjir. Masyarakat dievakuasi. Tahanan di LP Kota Bima juga dievakuasi karena terendam banjir. Di Kabupaten Bima banjir merendam di Desa Maria dan Desa Kambilo Kecamatan Wawo. Data sementara tercatat 25 rumah rusak berat, 5 rumah hanyut, 3 rumah rusak sedang, dan 1 jembatan negara putus. Sementara itu banjir juga merendam Desa Unter Kroke Kecamatan Unter Iwis Kabupaten Sumbawa. Sebanyak 120 KK/610 jiwa terdampak, 1 rumah rusak berat, 1 rumah rusak sedang dan 2 jembatan desa putus. Tinggi banjir 1-2 meter. Penerbangan dari Mataram ke Bima belum dapat dilakukan karena bandara terendam banjir. Genangan banjir kembali terjadi kenaikan pada tanggal 23 Desember sehingga menghambat upaya penyaluran bantuan dan pemulihan. BPBD bersama dengan TNI, Polri, SAR, Tagana, PMI, SKPD, relawan dan masyarakat melakukan evakuasi warga. Pelayanan kesehatan diberikan bagi warga. Kebutuhan mendesak perahu karet, makanan, selimut, tenda, air bersih, obat-obatan, makanan bayi dan lainnya. Upaya pasokan masih terkendala oleh cuaca dan minimnya akses transportasi. Jalur penerbangan sudah mulai berangsur pulih namun beberapa maskapai menunda bahkan melakukan pembatalan penerbangan. Sementara jalur laut dan darat mulai berangsur normal. Stok barang bantuan di Kota Bima dan aktifitas warga masih terbatas karena proses pembersihan rumah dan fasilitas umum butuh waktu beberapa hari kedepan.
